am i the only one out here disappointed by the edits on yt made with taylor’s ‘who’s afraid of little old me?’

it’s has such a female rage quality to it, so when i see a character like paul atreides, anakin skywalker, the JOKER being used for that song— it’s like no one ever listened to it.

the song isn’t about going down the bad path or becoming a villain, it’s about someone who after being pushed to the edge so many times, being withheld from things, and not getting a choice. she’s called crazy and it is because they’re doing it to her intentionally. she played the game too well that they had to put her down in order to control her again.

but she doesn’t let that happen. she finally breaks away from it, she realizes they’re afraid of her and she can use that. and she learned from them, so she can use that too. it’s a quiet build up and despite what people think that it’s a villain-era song, it’s more about putting on this villain-looking cloak to protect yourself from what’s happened.

It wasn't often that something could get past the sharp eyed gaze of the BAU's unit chief and shock him, but apparently Erin Strauss had made it her life's mission to do just that.

"We have a full team Erin, I don't understand why you want me to hire another agent." He almost demanded of his boss who just sighed and stood, knowing that an argument wouldn't change matters.

"I realize this Aaron, but the order came from higher than me, Edythe Munson is coming to you today for an interview and it has been sternly suggested that she be the 8th member of your team. She's highly skilled and qualified from what her paperwork suggests so I believe it will be a good fit." Not even waiting for a response that was likely to be another rebuttal, Strauss took her leave. 

Hotch didn't know what the bureau was playing at, last time Strauss had demanded he hire someone it was to spy on him and his team. However this order didn't come from Strauss, it came from the director and to his knowledge the director had a positive outlook on his team.

Hotch was taken out of his contemplation by a quick knock on the door and he stood as he called Edythe Munson to enter.

He allowed his gaze to sweep over the young woman, unsubtly profiling her. She was tall with long, curly dark hair that framed her face. Dark eyes that swept around his office in a way that showed she was looking for exit points and positioned herself accordingly. She carried herself in a way that made Hotch pause, her weight was shifted so that she could easily turn in either direction on a dime, her finger kept curling and uncurling like she was prepared to use them to defend herself, and she had her shoulders tensed like she was preparing for an ambush.

He was a little confused until he remembered the redacted parts of her file, she has been in a special task force in the military, branch unknown. Most of her late teens and early twenties were unknown to the file.

"Sergeant Munson, I'm SSA Aaron Hotchner, please sit."

He gestured his hand out as he sat in his chair, watching as her mouth ticked up to one side as she sat down.

"There's no need for Sergeant, Agent Hotchner, just Munson's fine or even Eddie." Her voice was rough but still feminine, like she had a habit of smoking or even screaming that had roughened her vocal chords.

"Munson then, I'm curious as to why the director of the bureau facilitated this interview." Hotch started, not usually being this direct but he was weary of a new hire, especially one that wasnt chosen by him. One that could very well pose a threat to team he had come to love and protect like his own.

Munson just seemed to smile blandly at him, not answering his non question and looking like she would rather be anywhere else, her eyes still shifting around

"You may speak candidly here, Ms. Munson." He instructed, not wanting to waste time on a candidate who didn't even want the job, his eyes flicked over the stack of paperwork on his desk that he could be working on.

Munson's smile became amused, "I'm afraid candid is not what they want to hear from me, sir. I'm supposed to gush over how much I want this job and how I would be forever in your debt if you give me a chance." Her tone was mocking and biting, like she hated the words coming out of her mouth, her fists were curled again.

"They? I assure you this is a private conversation." Hotchs eyes glanced down into the bullpen where his team was watching the interview, curious absolutely, but not able to hear anything in the room.

"Agent Hotchner, you work in a government office, don't tell me youre naive enough to think your conversations are heard by only the people in this room." Hotch was taken back by the look of sadness and rage in Munson's eyes, where before she looked indifferent and even mocking. When Strauss brought her up to him he had thought she was another politicians daughter that wanted to play at FBI agent, but looking at her now, he knew that she was being forced her as much as he was being forced to hire her. Why would the government want to keep an eye on this veteran?

Hotch felt the paternal side of him reach out to this young woman, not unlike it did for the people in the bullpen that were watching this exchange.

His eyes moved to her file, "It says here you were military, what branch?"

" I'm sorry sir, my military file is classified, I am not allowed to speak about it." Her answer was as bland as her smile now that they were back in neutral territory, the words fed to her and rehearsed most likely.

Hotch had to close his eyes briefly as his heart seemed to chip, he was gaining another member of the team, one that was just as broken and lost as the rest of them, she would fit right in.

"30 day trial period." He said abruptly, making Munson jump slightly.

"You will have 30 days as a full fledged member of the team, you will travel with us and work with us as normal and at the end we will have another meeting where we will evaluate how you are doing and if you are a fit for this team. Does that sound acceptable?"

Munson seemed to sag in relief but her mouth pressed tight together like she was keeping herself from saying something.

"Yes sir, that seems fair." She finally settled on, clearing her throat.

Hotch nodded once and stood, "You will need to keep a go bag on you at all times, we could get a case at a moments notice and you may not have time to pack properly. I can have someone bring you to the 5th floor to get proper credentials -" Munson cut over his sheepishly, "No need Agent Hotchner, I was given a gun and badge this morning." Hotch rocked on his heels slightly, the director seemed hell bent on the fact that even if she didn't stay here she would be going to another team. Aaron Hotchner knew very well that the close bond his team had formed was the anomaly here in the bureau, most teams only came together for big cases, most of them working cases alone unless help was needed. Looking at Munson, Hotch knew he had to keep her here, she could very easily slip thru the cracks of the federal system.

"Very well, Agent Munson, and you can call me Hotch, the rest of the team does." Eddie grinned slightly before sobering up, composing herself in a way that made Hotches heart squeeze in sympathy. Eddie would have a home here with the team, where she wouldn't have to hide the wide grin that she clearly wanted to let out.

"Come on, I'll introduce you to everyone."

Both Of Us - Teaser Analysis

This piece of talent appeared in my dash and so I decided to look into it.... WHY WAS IT SO FUCKING WELL MADE?! Time to ramble on this.

It starts of with some glitchy effects as then it leads to a picture of Jeffy screaming while looking at the camera, which is interesting to me since it does not show who or what he is scared by. How do I know it is Jeffy? Cause he has buck teeth.

Then we get this and-

IS THAT FUCKING NANCY?!?! OH NO! OH HELL NO! If you guys do not know, Nancy is Jeffy's biological abusive mother that dropped him off to Marvin's house as then later on, she was arrested by Brooklyn Guy after her husband died and she abused them in Marvin's home which then lead to him adopting him. The way she is looking at him shows that she has plans for Jeffy, which might've caused him to be evil. Heck, she might've been alive even after Jeffy's 18th Bday, which I have to watch alongside the 19th.

Then...

At first, I thought that was Rose with the shading, but at more looking at it, it is actually Penelope due her not having lipstick like Rose and her hair is exactly like that of Penelope's. Now, it made me wonder at what she is looking at to make her react like that? Was it Brooklyn Guy, her dad? Karen? But then I realized one part of the animatic.

Ahh, Junior. Junior. OH NO! LOOK AT THE DAMAGE! His horn is broken, he is bleeding from the top of his head, several bruises on his head and Penelope isn't faring better as she has a cut on her head, bleeding from her head and has bruises on her head as well. Oh... Oh shit. Well, this only confirms that Jeffy was responsible for the death of Junior, but most likely several other characters. I am guessing Brooklyn Guy, Braxton, Marvin and Rose. This also can not just be something like Jeffy attacking them, no, this was him making robots and several other cadgets, there is just no way.

Next is- Oh. OH. OH NO! OH HELL NO! Jeffy! Well this only confirms that Nancy is responsible for all of this and that this is not Jeffy's doing in the slightest, it is because this woman brainwashed him. LOOK AT THIS! I am feeling sorry for Jeffy because this is not at all what I expected.

And this... Well, that explains the red eye. And why I am currently more invested in this than anything else if I am being honest.

In short, this man got my soul and now, I am patiently waiting to brainrot over this.

A Waking Nightmare - Nancy Thompson/Penny Blake

Nancy wakes with a small cry, her eyes flying open. She can feel the marks on her skin, in her body which is only now healing after emergency surgery designed to save her life. She’s still trembling, of course, wanting to cry from the pain and fear coursing through her.

Penny, when she comes to check on her, finds her resting, eyes closed but clearly awake. The girl trembles under her touch and Penny feels her heart ache for her. The woman’s emergency surgery had been rough, so many punctured muscles and organs, not least her heart, it had been a miracle she survived.

“You’ll be okay Nancy, you’ve made it through the worst of it.”

(OKAY FINE BUT ONLY BECAUSE THIS MADE ME LAUGH. This is a musical about the Trojan War, this song in particular is from Odysseus' POV. It is aggressively Just Fine. Frankly a miracle this whole EP wasn't all over my Top 100, but that this ONE SONG would be RIGHT AT THE TOP? So damn annoying.)

(Steddie Spotify Wrapped Challenge)

Eddie traces a hand across Steve's chest slowly, apparently transfixed by the way the firelight sends shadows through the hair there. When he passes a thumbnail across Steve's nipple, apparently by accident (Steve isn't fooled), Steve's answering sharp inhale almost drowns out Eddie's quiet question.

"And you still sail tomorrow?"

Steve covers Eddie's hand with his, stopping him. But he can't help himself from reaching out, wrapping a strand of the sorcerer's long black hair around his fingers.

"You still going to change back my crew?"

Eddie's eyes are wide and deep, eldritch dark on Steve's face. There's no point in denying that their inhuman stare doesn't do something to Steve, quickening his blood somehow. He stopped fighting against that within his first month on Eddie's island.

Eddie nods, slowly.

"Then I still sail," Steve says simply.

"Back to Nancy," Eddie says. Shifts a little on top of the furs spread across the cavern floor. The chill air coming off the sea doesn't seem to affect him at all, pale limbs almost glowing in the firelight. Steve, on the other hand, would probably be half frozen solid if it wasn't for the fire. And for Eddie warming him up so very thoroughly, just moments ago.

"Back to my wife," Steve agrees quietly. Lets loose the lock of hair, dropping his hand to the side of Eddie's neck. Feels it, when Eddie swallows. "She's waiting for me."

"So you say," Eddie says, leaning in to press a kiss just under Steve's ear.

"So you think," he says, moving to kiss the swell of Steve's collarbone.

"How romantic," he concludes, and bites down none too gently.

Assigning random fictional characters to orders of the Knights Radiant

My only rule is, they can't canonically have magical powers in their own universe, or else I'd try to assign them based on what magic powers they have. I want to do this based on their character development and the ideals of their Radiant order.

Penelope Alvarez from One Day at a Time - Windrunner

I love One Day at a Time, it's one of my comfort shows. And now that I think about it, Penelope is very similar to Kaladin. They're both veterans who work in healthcare and struggle with depression. Protecting her family and the people around her is one of Penelope's main motivations, and we see her really come into her own as a leader over the course of the series. TV mom of all time, honestly.

Nancy Wheeler from Stranger Things - Skybreaker

I'm not saying Nancy is a cop. Far from it. I think she is motivated by justice though. Nothing gets her going like seeing others being unfairly dealt with, whether it's her friend's death being covered up or a little old lady not being listened to. I will say that she is like the canon Skybreakers in that she has faith in the system and she generally tries to work within it. It's only when supernatural circumstances defy the way the system is supposed to work that she reaches for her gun.

Edward Teach from Our Flag Means Death - Dustbringer/Releaser

Blackbeard is why the Releaser oaths are so concerned with self mastery. He caused so much destruction even without having any magical powers, imagine if he could incinerate things with a touch. Despite all that, Ed refused to let himself directly kill anyone because of what murder has turned him into. His character development is about learning the self control required to create instead of destroy. Also, he totally dresses like an ashspren, they would see him as one of them.

Blanca Evangelista from Pose - Edgedancer

Another iconic TV mom. Caring for the forgotten is not only Blanca's entire thing - breaking off and starting her own house specifically for that purpose is literally the inciting incident of the whole show. Taking care of others is how she copes with the difficult circumstances of her own life, but her friends remind her to take care of herself as well. The actress who plays her - Michaela Jae Rodriguez - moves with a grace that perfectly suits an Edgedancer.

Elle Woods from Legally Blonde - Truthwatcher

I woke up this morning thinking, "Elle Woods would totally be a Truthwatcher," which is what inspired me to make this post. She learns to value scholarship, and she basically uses Progression on all the friends she makes over the course of the movie. Elle heals Paulette's self confidence by helping her realize her best self. She and Vivian help each other realize they both deserve better than Warner. And she speaks truth to power, whether it's to her bestie's shitty ex or her asshole of a professor.

Wirt from Over the Garden Wall - Lightweaver

Probably the easiest to assign an order to. Aside from having the dramatic tendencies and creative ability of most Lightweavers, Wirt definitely lies to himself and others a lot. The show is very focused on Wirt learning and speaking his truths. I also think having a Cryptic with him 24/7 would drive him up the wall in the most hilarious way.

Janine Teagues from Abbott Elementary - Elsecaller

I thought about making her an Edgedancer, I really did. The Edgedancer ideals are a big part of her motivation for getting into teaching. But her character development is headed more in the direction of self actualization. She doesn't only want to be a teacher, she wants to be the best teacher possible. Janine also has the cautious personality and logical problem-solving skills of an Elsecaller.

Prince Wilhelm from Young Royals - Willshaper

Because Wille is constantly surrounded by lies, my first thought was that he'd be a Lightweaver. But he doesn't have the temperament to be a good illusionist. His character arc is more about seeking freedom and self expression for himself as well as others. Okay, mainly for himself. He's just a kid, but now that he (spoilers!) has abdicated the throne he can totally rage against the machine.

Eleanor Shellstrop from The Good Place - Stoneward

Eleanor starts out as probably the worst candidate for a Stoneward you could imagine. Good thing her show is all about self development! Her friends really come to rely on her by the time season 4 rolls around. Her team becomes her main motivation, and she overcomes her defensive selfishness to connect with and be there for others. The one Stoneward quality she did have from the get-go would definitely be her stubbornness, though.

Leslie Knope from Parks & Rec - Bondsmith

Leslie is all about unity and bringing people together. Her personality alone is powerful enough to be a Bondsmith. I definitely think she could fight Dalinar and steal the Stormfather from him, don't you? Maybe it's a good thing she can't worldhop . . .
