Happy Hanukkah!

Rebecca is hosting a Hanukkah party tonight with a few of her friends. Everyone is so excited for sunset!

Each girl celebrates Hanukkah a little differently. Nancy and Amanda come from an interfaith family, where their father’s side is Jewish and their mother’s side is Greek Orthodox. Amanda prefers to celebrate just the Jewish holidays, while Nancy likes to explore both. Rebecca is a conservative Jewish girl, so it’s all Jewish holidays, all the time. Katherine’s family celebrates Christian and Jewish holidays secularly as a way to keep in touch with their family history, even though none of them are religious. Coming together tonight lets the girls talk about different perspectives and share new traditions. (And show off their new winter outfits, of course!)

Didn’t Nancy say she’d bring them?

Nancy says she miiiiight’ve forgotten them at home. Oh, well. She and Amanda will dash down to the store and grab some candles, and maybe some sufganiyot too. Good luck, you two! Chag Urim Sameach!

After that, Nancy sits with her baby brother Haruo on the couch. “Nan, when we get back home and it’s tomorrow, can you play dolls with me?” He asks and she grins. “Sure, Ru. Also that dress looks good,” she says and he grins. “Yeah, it’s so comfy. Now I know why you and ma like dresses so much, they’re comfy and swishy and fun.” He says, and Nancy nods. When she’d aged up and her childhood strawberry dress didn’t fit anymore, Haruo has asked to have it and Nancy agreed as long as he would take care of it, and he wore it today to be fancy and match with Nancy. “I don’t think I want to wear it all the time cause I can’t ride my bike in it or climb a tree, though.” He adds thoughtfully and Nancy nods.

Emily sees the two talking and takes out her phone*. “Aww, you guys look so cute, can I take a photo?” She asks, and Nancy nods, blushing a bit as Emily smiles. “Sure,” she says and Emily takes a few snaps. “I’ll send it to your mom so you guys can have the photos too.” Emily says to Nancy and Haruo, who nod. As she walks away, Haruo nudges Nancy and grins. “Ooh, you like her.” He teases in a singsong voice. “Shut up,” she says, blushing as she makes sure Emily is too far away to hear. Stephanie overhears this and gives both kids a mom look. “Ru, no teasing your big sis, Nan don’t tell your brother to shut up.” She says and both of them glance at each other. “Sorry mom,” Nancy says and Haruo nods. “Yeah.” He says.

While Nancy goes to talk with her parent Riley and auntie Megan, Haruo asks his mom to pick him up. “Sure, sweetpea.” She says, scooping him up into a hug. He hugs her back before she places him back down. “You and Nan are getting so big already, I can’t believe she’s 13 and you’re going to be 7 soon.” She says wistfully as she smooths back his hair, and Haruo grins. “Ma, don’t be all sappy,” he says, but he hugs her around the middle before running off to talk to Amir and Safiya.

Since I recently redid my meet photos for all my girls, I thought it’d be fun to do a post with some fast facts about my original characters. Look under the cut to learn more about them!

Jennifer:

Favorite season is autumn

Plays with her mother’s Miss America Barbie doll

Loses track of time easily and will stay up very late working on her knitting projects or watching TV

Katherine:

Has sensory processing disorder and is especially sensitive to loud sounds

Favorite holiday is Halloween

Puts glitter stickers on everything she owns

Evelin:

Favorite musician is Rufus Wainwright

Sets up a hummingbird feeder outside her bedroom window every summer

Got into making amateur radios as a fun way of communicating with her friends during the Covid pandemic

Nancy:

Favorite holiday is Valentine’s Day

Listens to at least three Talking Heads albums a week

Wants Amanda to play drums so that they can be like Van Halen

Amanda:

Favorite book is The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate

Broke her wrist skateboarding when she was 11

While Tess and Megan take the older kids back home, Emily decides to stay and hang out with Nancy and Haruo. Nancy's face lights up with excitement at this but she tries to stay calm. "Sure, that's cool, Ems. We can watch a movie." She says. Haruo shoots her a look, not fooled by her calm act, and she nudges him lightly. He snorts and goes to play with the outdoor dollhouse while Nancy, Riley, and Emily go inside.

Nancy sits next to Emily on the couch, and grins nervously at her. "Would you want to watch adventures in space or the khlumzee sisters?" She asks. "You pick," Emily says, checking her phone quickly to see if her friend Kiran texted her. "Okay, the space movie is pretty funny and has a small sad part but its not too bad." Nancy says and Emily nods. Nancy puts the movie on, settling into the couch and trying not to blush or look at Emily too much.

After the movie, Nancy changes out of her fancy outfit and into a t shirt she borrowed from her parent Riley, and some comfy jeans, putting her hair into a messy updo similar to her mom's. Emily laughs as she eyes the grumpy fish holding a frying pan. "I love it," she says and Nancy grins, jokingly showing off the t shirt. "It's the latest fashion." She jokes and Emily laughs. After a while, Emily leaves too, and Nancy goes outside to play dolls with her brother.

If you don't see a name you submitted here, it's because most or all of their career was as a child/they were too young for the cutoff, their career was almost entirely after 1979, or music was something they only dabbled in and are hardly known for. There are quite a few ladies on the list whose primary career wasn't "recording artist" or "live musician," but released several albums or were in musical theater, so they've been accepted.

sorry if this is random but uh what do you think each character of scream (whichever you choose! no movie in particular) would be in mlp (ex: unicorn, pony, pegasus)

This is such a cute question!!! I've seen a few people draw the characters of Scream as ponies and they're all so darn cute, but this is what I imagine!! I'm gonna do my favorite characters of the trilogy because now I have so many ideas haha

Sidney Prescott: I think she'd be an earth pony—she's very down-to-earth (haha get it... ok sorry) and practical. She doesn't have to get by with magic, just strength and perseverance!! I think her pony name would be Lucky Streak or something like that! I think her cutie mark would be something like a four leaf clover with one of the leaves pulled off.

Tatum Riley: As much as I think Tatum fits the unicorn stereotype, I think she'd be a pegasus. I don't really have a reasoning for this, I just think it fits her more! She's definitely get the title of prettiest wings in her grade. I think her pony name would be something like Pearl Gust. I think her cutie mark would have something to do with her loyalty to Sid/her friends, or a makeup related cutie mark.

Randy Meeks: Definitely an earth pony, but like... A city earth pony. Couldn't pull a plow if his life depended on it, but that's ok because he's just a charming little guy. I think his pony name would just be something like Meek, like how Rarity's name is just Rarity. His cutie mark is something movie related, like a film reel.

Billy Loomis: He gives earth pony vibes but I think he's a unicorn. No reason behind why I think that... I think he'd use his horn magic to change his and Stu's voices for the phone calls. His pony name would be something innocent sounding like Doe Heart lol. His cutie mark is definitely something also related to films, specifically horror films, like a VHS tape and a knife or smthn.

Stu Macher: Pegasus for sure. His favorite past time (aside from killing with Billy) is cloud surfing. Tatum gets on him all the time for the state of his wings because he's too lazy to preen them LOL. His pony name would be something silly and non-suspicious like Silly String lol... I also like the headcanon made by a couple of those artists I was talking abt that Stu's cutie mark would be something really incriminating so he had to hide it all the time haha.

Mickey Altieri: He is a griffon!! He's suave and cool and puts up a facade around most everyone, but he still falls to his ego. Also he just looks like one with his slicked back hair haha. His name would probably still just be Mickey, since griffon names are more like human names.

Nancy Loomis: A unicorn, like her son. Comes in handy changing voices and all. Her pony name is probably something like Ashen Heart idk lol don't ask I'm just going off vibes. Cutie mark is probably something related to reporting.

Hallie McDaniels: I'd say unicorn too probably. She has an interest in psychology and the brain is about as magical a thing as you can find in everyday life! Her pony name would be something like Joy Jubilee, and her cutie mark would be like, flowers blooming from a horse brain or something LOL.

Derek Feldman: I wanna subvert expectations and say dragon. In Scream 2, he's meant to be a strong suspect, so looking intimidating while actually just being a real sweet guy (and more importantly, innocent) would make a dragon fit him I think. He's like Spike!!! He's outgoing and strong, and the stereotype of dragons being mean while he's not might make him look more suspicious. His dragon name is maybe something like Slate, like the rock.

Roman Bridger: Changeling!!!! 100% changeling!!! Do I even have to explain?? The voice changer mimicking other people's voices, him wanting to have what Sidney has (family, adoration, sympathy, respect, fame, love), copying previous killers' gimmick of the costume, etc etc etc. For names... Idk, he'd probably be something buggy like other changelings, like Elytron. He'd probably disguise himself as a pony, maybe a unicorn, and go by something like Action Shot and have a film-related cutie mark.

Jennifer Jolie: Methinks... Kirin. She's pretty, clever, a little sly... Her emotions can be pretty intense and she would get worked up pretty easily (I mean... Rightfully so, she was being chased by a murderer lol). She was also an actress, which is like just a few steps off from being a singer right? LOL.... I think her stage-name would be something like Firework or something cutesie and eye-catching.

Honorable mentions: Gale is also a Kirin and Dewey is a pegasus, I don't have anything to add abt them so ya (◕ ‿ ◕)

Alrightyyy here we go... Scream 2(1997) and Scream 6 (2023) parallels Now first and foremost, obviously there is the parent revenge connection. As you can see in scream 2 (1997) Nancy Loomis tries to avenge Billy from (1996) who was a ghostface. And Wayne Bailey in scream 6 (2023) along with his other children Quinn and Ethan try to avenge Richie Kirsch (2022) who was also a ghostface. Both parents of a ghostface who became ghostfaces themselves. Then there's Tara punching Gale. Like Sidney did in (1996) and (1997). It's even acknowledged in Scream 6 when Sam swings on Gale and Gale dodges "Nice try sweetie, but I've done this dance before" only for Tara to hit her instead. There's the final-girl love interest is a suspect but not a killer. Danny Brackett in 6 and Derek Feldman in 2. Only Derek dies whereas Danny lives through Scream 6 and wasn't personally present in the theater for act three. Speaking of theaters...Sidney majored in theater in Scream 2, so she was shown as the lead actress in a play. Following the theater theme, the confrontation with Ghostface took place in the school’s auditorium. There, Sidney and Gale and eventually Cotton Weary killed Nancy Loomis and Mickey Altieri. Scream 6’s final showdown also took place in a theater, an abandoned one in which Wayne and his children had set a Ghostface shrine with objects belonging to past victims, killers, and lots of Stab memorabilia as a way to “honour” Richie. So both of the act threes took place in a theater. At the frat party in 6 Tara mentions possibly rushing Omega Beta Zeta. Which drumroll please... is the same sorority Sarah Michelle Gellar's character in Scream 2, Cici Cooper was in. Cici was killed in the Omega Beta Zeta sorority house, remember? During Mickey's act three monologue just after Nancy Loomis is revealed as the second ghostface, Mickey says "didn't see it coming, did ya??" ANDDD in the killer monologue in Scream 6 when Quinn and Ethan are revealed alongside Wayne, Quinn says "heyy roomies. You didn't see that one coming, did you?" This one was kinda insignificant but I noticed it right away.

Then there's the final-girls incorrectly guessing the identity of a ghostface right before the reveal and guessing a previous ghostface survivor. In Scream 2 Mickey tells Sidney there's a surprise for her only for Gale to walk into the room. Sidney briefly believes it's Gale, until Nancy walks in behind her, holding Gale at gunpoint. Then in Scream 6 after Wayne and Ethan were revealed and Quinn is about to remove her mask, Sam guesses Mindy, exacerbated. Sooo yeah. There's probably more, but these were the really obvious ones to me. :)
