Because my head goblin got riled up from that last ask and I am but a mere flesh jaeger. Thought went into this, goddamn thought went into this. 
SEASON 1 (PRE-WAR) Opening: Link by L’arc en Ciel (FMA movie)

- Chosen because the MegOP as childhood friends vibes were TOO STRONG look at those fucking lyrics holy shit. Also, it sounds a LOT like OP speaking/singing to Megs! And. very sadly attempting to reassure himself/Megs that yes, they can still be friends despite everything they’ve gone through. He wants to hold on to that hope. 
SEASON 2 Opening: I am just feeling alive by Umi Kuun (Young Blackjack)
I am just feeling alive! The tears… the scars… from that night, Change to new vows in this moment.
This simple heart has simply gone on making decisions, Thinking there’s no way justice could ever exist. But nonetheless, I’m searching for it somewhere in my heart, (Give me Give me One More Chance!)

- Chosen for the ‘alive’ theme since OP has basically returned from the dead last season with the Matrix giving him ‘new life’. Also OP still seeking for a better day despite the shit he’s gone through AGAIN, and shifting his priorities from Megs to the team he now has to lead, who he’s determined to keep alive. - Thematic support from Prowl, who’s also learning how to live as a free man for the first time and is likely realising the mountains he’s willing to move for Jazz (and his shifting mindset). 
SEASON 3 Opening:  Unlimited by Nanase Aikawa (Samurai 7)
To understand each other And to share your feelings with each other Those things are like bubbles
Hiding themselves in the grains of time So I have lost all hope Believing it would be impossible to grab them Until I met you
How long have you been carrying This pain inside you? How long have you been hiding That sadness in your eyes when you smile?

- Female vocals chosen as this season introduces Windblade, Chromia and Lightbright as the Camien Valkyries, as well as Sari. - Fourth and fifth stanzas relating to Ratchet with Drift (defects to Autobots this season), Sari with Isaac (introduced this season, both are part of the main arc) and Windblade with Starscream.
SEASON 4 Opening: Missing Link by Novels (Tiger & Bunny)
I could have reclaimed that torn page Now I don't remember where I dropped it Yet what bothers me most is that there's no beauty looking forward After all, I did have a dream as my spell
What can I hate? My past? Myself? I only wish it could be someone else
We imagine such a future But even if we lose it We'll still be the heroes of our story

- The talk of past and futures plays into the Time Travel/Functionist Universe episodes which features as this season’s main arc.  - First two stanzas relate to Megs coming to terms with who he’s become (and the torn page he dropped, ie. his old, hopeful miner self). Also concerns Sunstreaker, who leaves the Autobots after a massive crisis of self.  - Last stanza concerns Prowl/Functionist Universe Jazz, basically Prowl telling F!Jazz that as long as they have the present, there’s still hope even if the future looks bleak. 
SEASON 5 Opening: Rain by SID (FMA: Brotherhood)
The new morning we've finally found Is being hampered by the past What we chased after wasn't the future But the past so full of remorse
The ruthless memories won't stop playing They won't be forgiving us for a long time
It's now that a teardrop Begins to roll down my fatigued cheeks

- Chosen because EVERYONE is a little fucked up and tired by this point.  - First two stanzas concern the 12 Primes, the reveal of what Unicron is and how they tie into all the terrible things the the system has done finally coming home to roost in an apocalyptic manner, so to speak.  - 0:28 to 0:32 played similar but much more benevolently w/the 10 Primes choosing their avatar/champion for the final battle.  - 0:13 to 0:18 for massive cast shot which combines Autobots AND Decepticons loyal to Megs who are, once more as they had in the beginning, fighting side by side.

hanamori sumiko : working her debt to the igarashi family, specifically hachiro, as a boundary enforcer. his partner in terms of their work. face claim, kiznaiver's noriko, konosoba's aqua.
hanazono touma : working off his family's debt to the agase family by working with yuzuki as her caretaker. ancient history instructor of Tomitomi High School & Boarding Academy. face claims, bleach's ichigo, fruits basket's kyo.
komatsu koemi : known as the current heir of the komatsu family + saint of a dying world. constantly having visions of the god who abandoned this world. lives & works within the church grounds House of Prophecy & Miracles. known for her ability to perform miracles as well as purification & cleansings. face claims, i became the hero's mom's aisha, i became the wife of the male lead's fiona.

konoe yukari : being mentored by sumiko. twin sister to yukino, who is bedridden due to his poor health. reinin. very sweet, but attempting to find her father to kill him. face claims, love live!'s umi, food wars' megumi.
saotome yoichi : canon divergent from owari no seraph series. main verse takes place in an original verse. being mentored by yuzuki. face claims, ons' yoichi, hakuoki's heisuke.
inoue koji : being mentored by hachiro. kind of a normal guy, but really strong & fast. has known yukari since they were children ; his mother has allowed yukari & her twin brother yukino to live in her home with koji after their mother's death. face claims, hyouka's oreki, ikesen's yukimura.
zelda fitzgerald : being mentored by koemi. comes from a bloodline directly connected to a goddess. not the goddess of the world she is in right now. ward under the House of Prophecy & Miracles, attending Tomitomi High School & Boarding Academy as a member of the task force.

Girls Whisper Softly in Your Ears in TV Anime 180-Byou de Kimi no Mimi o Shiawase ni Dekiru ka? PV
    The official website for the forthcoming TV anime 180-Byou de Kimi no Mimi o Shiawase ni Dekiruka? (Can I Make Your Ears Happy in 180 Seconds?) has posted a 90-second PV that introduces the appeal of the AMSR sound used in the anime (The use of headphones is strongly encouraged!).
  It is als oannounced that the ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response)-themed five-minute original short anime is set to premiere on TOKYO MX at 25:00 on October 14, 2021 (JST).
    PV introduction:
  Gekkou-chan, a childhood friend of yours, learns that you are into ASMR and begins to research it. When she was scratching a dummy head's ear, she heard a rumbling sound. When she hears that throbbing sound, she can't help but say, "Oh, this is a good sound..." and begins to be attracted to the appeal of ASMR. Tsumugi: Good work on wrapping up the special drama, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”!

R: It was interesting to be able to see a different face on everyone while filming! Like Yamato-san who switched expressions so quickly!

PROEMIO
La imaginación es una bestia salvaje que no se deja domar. Quienes más salen airosos en esa tarea a lo largo de la historia no siempre son quienes se dedican a escribir cuentos o novelas, sino quienes hacen filosofía. Un vistazo rápido permite entrever el bestiario que nace entre las páginas más brillantes de esa disciplina, desde los clásicos como el genio maligno, el andrógino, el ciego que recobra la vista o el motor inmóvil, hasta los modernos como el zombi consciente, el cerebro en una cubeta, la habitación china, el tranvía que se desvía, el violinista parásito, el catálogo de todos los catálogos o el crimen perfecto.
Domesticar a semejante fauna del pensamiento podría ocupar una obra entera o toda una vida, y sin embargo hubo alguien que dedicó ambas, vida y obra, a explorar los vastos terrenos de la mente humana donde estas bestias rondan, no desde la literatura, como hizo su celebrado compatriota Hans Christian Andersen, sino desde la filosofía y la teología; se trata del jorobado de Copenhague, el polifacético Søren Kierkegaard. Los avatares de la biografía de este pensador danés se resumen en un par de momentos cruciales donde destaca su rompimiento con Regine Olsen, su prometida, a quien dejó en las vísperas de su matrimonio. Nunca nadie como el autor del Diario de un seductor había elevado a tan alto rango filosófico el rompimiento y la obsesión con una ex.
Producto de ese desencuentro nace un libro excepcional donde el autor expone su pasaje de “caballero de la resignación infinita” a “caballero de la fe”. Usemos como él la imaginación, pero en vez de hablar en clave bíblica, hagámoslo desde la animación. ¿Qué pasaría si Kierkegaard se apareciera en medio de Tokio y se le exigiera una prueba similar a aquella que tanto le fascinó y estremeció, la de Abraham cuando llevó a su hijo Isaac al monte Moriah? Ahora, pensemos en el filósofo danés vuelto una estudiante japonesa de catorce años arrebatada hacia un mundo fantástico al que debe salvar sin comprender totalmente de qué ni por qué. Es más, como hizo el filósofo al redactar sus obras, esta jovencita adoptaría no una, sino varias identidades, tres en este caso, cada una con su propia personalidad alusiva a los llamados estadios de la existencia.

LA SUSPENSIÓN MÁGICA DE LA ÉTICA
La adaptación del opening nos las dio a conocer como Lucy, Anaís y Marina, cuyos nombres originales eran, respectivamente, Hikaru Shidō, Fū Hōōji y Umi Ryūzaki (aquí las llamaremos según el doblaje). Desde el primer episodio quedan claros el rol y la psicología de cada una de las protagonistas mediante la actitud que adoptan ante la misión que se les encomienda. Lucy es la más entusiasta tanto con su encargo como con sus nuevas compañeras y las aventuras que le esperan; al contrario, Marina, permanece escéptica y renuente a participar en algo que, en su opinión, no le incumbe e interfiere con su competencia de esgrima; por su parte, Anaís es la voz de la razón y apela al sentido común, más meditabunda, razona al modo de Pascal (el jansenista de quien podría decirse que fue el precursor y equivalente católico de Kierkegaard), ya que, si todo aquello se tratara de una fantasía, nada perderían tomando parte en ella y, de lograr su meta, habrán hecho algo bueno, además de que “es peligroso actuar fortuitamente en un lugar extraño”.

La Torre de Tokio, donde comienza y termina todo.
Durante una excursión escolar en la Torre de Tokio, un resplandor y una voz se les aparecen a las tres chicas, después se esfuma el suelo bajo sus pies e inician un descenso entre montañas flotantes, detenido por un pez volador gigante que amortigua su caída. Luego de preguntarse donde están se presentan, platican y riñen un poco, cuando sale ante ellas un joven ataviado de forma extraña, es Gurú-Clef, el hechicero guía que les comunica su misión, la cual deben completar si desean volver a su mundo. También les explica que fueron convocadas al mundo Céfiro, un planeta-reino regido por la magia del pensamiento positivo y la armonía telepática, a petición de su gobernante, la princesa Esmeralda. Ellas deberán convertirse en Guerreras Mágicas (Magic Knight) y despertar a los genios (mashin) para poder detener a Zagato, quien tiene secuestrada a la princesa.
La de Esmeralda es la voz que oyeron en Tokio. Ella, además de gobernar Céfiro, es su Pilar, la persona que mantiene la paz y armonía de ese mágico reino con sus oraciones, pero que debido a su cautividad, no ha podido cumplir con su deber, por lo que Céfiro se halla sumido en la oscuridad y el caos. A medida que avanza la historia, y ya sin la presencia de Gurú-Clef, quien se comunica con ellas mediante telepatía, Lucy, Anaís y Marina tendrán que pasar por diferentes pruebas para lograr dominar sus poderes mágicos y hacerle frente a Zagato. Sólo contarán con Nikona, un simpático ser de color rosa que las orientará. El desarrollo del argumento combina lo mejor de los relatos de aventuras, los juegos de rol y los videojuegos de plataformas como la adquisición de objetos y el incremento de habilidades para subir de nivel, que en combinación con la atmósfera de fantasía, generan un ambiente que invita a ver cómo las heroínas se las arreglan para cumplir con su encargo.

A lo largo de los episodios las protagonistas aprenden algo nuevo sobre sí mismas o sobre sus adversarios, que a veces resultan complejos y otras sólo simpáticos; y sin embargo, el entramado final no se percibe del todo como mecánico o azaroso, pues las motivaciones de cada agente son develadas en el momento justo, lo cual permite plantear un conflicto y mantener un balance adecuado entre tensión y resolución cuya pauta mantiene el interés a lo largo de la historia, además de que no deja sueltos a los personajes secundarios y los aprovecha en su justa medida.
En su época, surgieron las comparaciones con otras producciones del género de “brujitas” o “chicas mágicas” (mahō shōjo), de los cuales el más emblemático en la década de los 90 fue la celebérrima Sailor Moon, de Naoko Takeuchi. Entre el público mexicano se instaló una especie de competencia entre ambas series, las cuales sólo compartían el formato de chicas de secundaria con poderes mágicos, con diferencias a montón en todo lo demás (más tarde las dos serían desbancadas por Sakura Card Captor, creación de las CLAMP, por cierto). A decir verdad, el desarrollo de Sailor Moon en algunos arcos es a veces tan mecánico que resulta predecible, sin mencionar el infaltable “relleno” de las series largas. No obstante, la baza más fuerte de Sailor Moon es su elenco principal, más trabajado y amplio que el de las Guerreras Mágicas, donde sólo Lucy destaca por su entusiasmo y carisma, terreno en el que arrasa la entrañable Serena (Usagi Tsukino); incluso el trío de las Guerreras se parece mucho al de las primeras sailor scouts, constituido por Rei Hino, Sailor Mars, tan temperamental, combativa y orgullosa como Marina, y Amy (Ami Mizuno), Sailor Mercury, quien se caracteriza por su inteligencia, su nobleza y por su carácter de protectora.
Sin embargo, es del lado antagónico y del conflicto donde Magic Knight Rayearth despliega sus mejores virtudes. A diferencia de Sailor Moon, donde los rivales son movidos por la venganza y la envidia, los motivos que hay detrás de las acciones de Zagato son diametralmente opuestos a los del villano tradicional a la vez que irreconciliables con los de la princesa Esmeralda y sus Guerreras Mágicas. El carácter de Lucy, cuyo talante impetuoso pero ingenuo la anunciaba como alguien que pasaría las pruebas con el recurso único y reiterado de su voluntad y arrojo, da un vuelco total al toparse con las motivaciones ocultas detrás de su llamado. Marina y Anaís no le irán a la zaga, pues la amistad nacida entre ellas, que juntas hicieron crecer hasta atesorarla como un vínculo de toda la vida, deberá enfrentar una amarga prueba final donde todo lo que parecía indicar que cumplirían con una gran gesta heroica se revela como ocasión de una terrible injusticia.

Este tipo de argumento no es nuevo ni especialmente único, sin embargo, su presencia en una historia dirigida a las jóvenes audiencias, sí que debió ser un impacto. El conflicto que se propone es el mismo que Kierkegaard plantea en su obra Temor y temblor. A medida que avanza la serie, rozando ya los capítulos finales de la primera temporada, se revela que Zagato es el sumo sacerdote de Céfiro, es decir, la persona encargada de cuidar al Pilar atendiendo a la princesa para que ella pueda dedicarse de lleno al florecimiento del planeta. Este lazo de servidumbre y fidelidad lo establece la ley mágica de Céfiro, pero como todo lo interesante en el mundo, el conflicto no surge cuando el bien se contrapone al mal, sino cuando una forma del bien se opone a otra forma del bien, en este caso, la felicidad individual y el destino común de todo un planeta, como en Kierkegaard, cuando hacer el bien se vuelve la posibilidad de fallar a la ética.
¿HAY UN DEBER ABSOLUTO HACIA EL PILAR DE CÉFIRO?
La razón de lo que acontece entre los habitantes de Céfiro es el amor, en concreto, el amor a su planeta. Cuando Kierkegaard planteó el dilema de Abraham para tratar sus propias decisiones amorosas lo hizo en términos dialécticos con el fin declarado de combatir la visión hegeliana de la existencia a la vez que para polemizar sobre ciertos dogmas religiosos, pues ¿cómo Dios, el bien perfecto, en su misma perfección nos podría pedir que actuemos en contra del supremo bien? En términos éticos ¿cómo un bien singular, individual, se puede conciliar con el bien general? La ética pertenece al ámbito de lo general, mientras que el absurdo al de la radical soledad de la existencia. Abraham sólo tiene dos posibles explicaciones al hacer lo que hizo con su hijo Isaac: o es un loco (está excluido de lo general), o es un asesino (afirma su individualidad en contra de lo general y a costa de otra individualidad). Distinto a Job, quien reclama a Dios por su desgracia, Abraham sin dudar toma a Isaac y se encamina al monte Moriah, así como Lucy y compañía se enfilan hacia el castillo de Céfiro una vez que han despertado a los genios, pero, a diferencia del patriarca, quien duda no de sus actos, sino sobre cómo serán interpretados y por ello guarda silencio, ellas están convencidas de que actúan virtuosamente y de que sus obras tendrán efectos benéficos, tal es la magia del “pensamiento positivo”.

[ALERTA DE ESPÓILER]
Durante toda la primera temporada, Zagato trata de evitar lo inevitable al tener en cautiverio a la princesa, es decir, a la persona que ama, justamente para que Céfiro no perezca, situación paradójica dado que, al ser el Pilar, Esmeralda es ya de por sí cautiva de su deber. El conflicto está bien perfilado: el principio general lo encarna el bienestar de Céfiro mientras que el principio individual reside en la pareja de enamorados. Recordemos que Kierkegaard mismo, bajo la firma de Johannes de Silentio, escribió Temor y temblor para explicar su decisión de romper la promesa matrimonial que le hizo a Regine Olsen. Optó como “el padre de la fe”, Abraham, por sacrificar lo más amado con la absurda esperanza de recuperarlo mediante un milagro, tal como antes lo había obtenido por otro milagro (Génesis 17). Ese es el temor, el de afirmarse aún en contra de lo general por amor, con el riesgo de fallar. Es por esto, por lo absurdo de su deseo, que nadie podría comprenderlo, pues amó lo imposible.

Que esto no sea motivo de confusión. El danés compara al patriarca hebreo con el héroe trágico de la Grecia antigua, admirado por su grandeza dado que sacrifica lo general en aras de lo general; Kierkegaard pone como ejemplo de esto el pasaje de Ifigenia en Áulide donde Agamenón, padre de aquella, se decide a sacrificarla para obtener el beneplácito de los dioses. El móvil del héroe griego es por entero individual, pues procede según un cálculo tan sencillo como mezquino que podría ser propio de cierta ética utilitaria: el mayor de los bienes o el menor de los males posibles. En este apunte, resuenan las palabras que Clarice Lispector pone en boca de la narradora en La pasión según G. H. que merecen ser recordadas:
“La moralidad. ¿Sería cándido pensar que el problema moral en relación con los demás consiste en actuar como se debería actuar, y que el problema moral con uno mismo es conseguir sentir lo que se debería sentir? ¿Soy moral en la medida en que hago lo que debo, y siento como debería? De repente, la cuestión moral me parecía no tanto aplastante como extremadamente mezquina”.
La princesa Esmeralda, vive bajo la aplastante paradoja de actuar como debería y de sentir como debería, aunque no como el resto le dicen que debería. ¿Qué resquicio le queda cuando, como Lucy afirma en el episodio final, “lo único que hizo fue enamorarse de una persona”?, ¿qué pasa cuando algo bueno es oportunidad de tropiezo, de tentación (o escándalo, como bíblicamente escribe Clarice Lispector)? ¿No fue acaso Lacan quien, en su seminario que precisamente trata sobre La Ética, ideó aquella célebre fórmula que dice “no ceder en su deseo”?
¿PUEDE JUSTIFICARSE MORALMENTE EL SILENCIO DE ZAGATO Y ESMERALDA ANTE LAS GUERRERAS MÁGICAS?
En el dominio de lo moral siempre está en juego la justificación. No pasemos por alto que el filósofo danés provenía de un ambiente protestante donde uno de los pilares es la doctrina de la justificación por la fe, por ello se empeña en caracterizar la fe como la espera de lo bueno, sino como el deseo de lo imposible, el salto hacia lo absurdo. Así, si el temor es amar lo imposible, el temblor es el de no ser comprendido. ¿Pero dónde se ubica Zagato en relación a su propia decisión? Sus actos lo convierten no en un héroe trágico ni en un villano redimido, sino en un caballero de la resignación. Él le inflige un dolor inexplicable a la princesa Esmeralda con el propósito de no causar un daño mayor, de desviar sus pensamientos de él, para que en vez de amarlo lo deteste y vuelva su mente hacia Céfiro, el lugar que ambos juraron proteger. En cualquier caso, perderla es también salvarla, y al revés. La encrucijada de su conflicto es Kierkegaard vivo: en el instante de la decisión, Zagato, no acepta renunciar ni a su amor ni a su deber, pero por querer mantener ambos, deberá estar dispuesto a perderlo todo, hasta a sí mismo, también por amor. Por todo eso, sumida en el mismo dilema, es que la princesa Esmeralda tampoco es capaz de confesar su verdadero deseo.
Después de tropezar reiteradamente en su intento de evitar el indeseable desenlace, Zagato se ha decidido a combatir él mismo con las chicas, quienes están resueltas a concluir su misión para regresar a su vida normal en Japón. Invoca a su genio, la batalla final será épica. Lo que ellas no saben es que con su victoria dañarían lo que tanto se esforzaron en defender. La lucha es intensa, pero logran alzarse con el triunfo. Cuando festejaban haber vencido y se dirigían al encuentro con la princesa Esmeralda, la verdad les es revelada al mismo tiempo que a la audiencia. No hay celebración ni ovaciones. Al final ella misma les encomendará su verdadera misión, lo que Zagato tanto había luchado por impedir: que acaben con su vida.

Uno de los principios del mundo Céfiro es que el Pilar no puede atentar contra su propia vida. Es sin duda un acto de fe el no contrariar esta idea, lo que da paso en la segunda temporada a que la búsqueda por sustituirlo (con resonancias intuidas de La Zona en lo que respecta a la elección del nuevo Pilar) se vaya convirtiendo progresivamente en un cuestionamiento de dicha ley. Pero de vuelta en el episodio final de la primera temporada, Esmeralda revela dos cosas: “su deseo”, el ya mencionado propósito por el que convocó a las Guerreras Mágicas, y su verdadera forma. La princesa que les habló en un principio tenía el aspecto de una niña, pero en el final pelean contra una mujer adulta que es la encarnación los pensamientos negativos que Esmeralda reprimía, desatados por la rabia de haber perdido a quien más ama. Al final, con todo su dolor, las Guerreras terminan por cumplir su última misión y Esmeralda podrá reunirse, aunque sea con el último pensamiento que ella le dedica en vida, con su amado Zagato. Ellas vuelven a Japón e intentan consolarse después de percatarse del trágico desenlace en el que participaron, y del que no pueden hablar, pues sucedió en un mundo mágico. “La ética de la moral es mantenerla en secreto. La libertad es un secreto”, sentencia G. H. en la novela de Lispector.

[FIN DE LA ALERTA DE ESPÓILER]
LA TENTACIÓN DE SER BUENO
Lo que las Guerreras Mágicas ponen sobre la mesa es una nueva forma de entender lo que en muchas series se entiende como “el poder de la amistad” o “del amor”. Como la obra de Kierkegaard, algunos aspectos de esta serie nos confrontan con la naturaleza de lo injusto, pero también con las dificultades del amor (del que otras facetas se exploran en la segunda temporada, que en otra ocasión comentaremos). En la batalla contra Zagato, Lucy pierde sus poderes, es “la fuerza de su corazón”, la constancia de su promesa, la que la hace seguir adelante, esta misma fortaleza es la que la quiebra y a la vez la sostiene.
En su afán heroico, o en el cumplimiento irrestricto de su deber, corren el riesgo perpetuo de ser serviles (de ser viles), como pudo haberle ocurrido a Zagato y Esmeralda, pero finalmente actúan en conformidad con su deseo. ¿Qué habríamos decidido cada quien de estar en su lugar?

INVITACIÓN
Con su final insuperablemente melancólico; con su sublime banda sonora que suscita una gama amplísima de emociones, desde las más delicadas hasta las más vehementes, plasmadas con una paleta sonora que combina tradición y modernidad; con su mundo mágico poblado por toda clase de seres fantásticos; con sus robots de un diseño orgánico que anticipa a los de Evangelion; con todo eso, Magic Knight Rayearth nos presenta una aventura que, una vez más, hace ver las posibilidades de esa bestia indómita que es la imaginación cuando se mueve en ese medio llamado animación.
Aquí dejamos a la primera temporada, en otra ocasión visitaremos la segunda.
