I did this couple of arts a couple years ago, with Geto and Nanami, called “scars of the what if”. Ever since then, i’ve imagined a delusional split reality where both Geto and Nanami survive Shibuya. Geto would find a way to awake his conscience and take back the control on his body over Kenjaku and Nanami would be healed by Shoko, losing his eyesight but alive. Would they find comfort in each other after everything they’ve said and done? Never too close before, always aware and understanding of the other, they might finally have a chance of claiming the lives they deserve.

In other words, I enjoy being delusional, but if you like this ship, you’re welcome to be delusional with me too

The way i see it is actually worse than that, lol. I mean it's worse than a toxic throuple. Because it has all the complexities and devotion of stsg, but it also has their falling out and animosity. They are aware of the increasing distance blooming between them but they are also too codependent on each other to leave.

I lied when I said I don't fuck with cheating because this flavour of cheating will always intrigue me. When there is a very clear isolation and distance in the relationship that seeking comfort elsewhere is the only way to stay sane, but also you're so irrevocably entwined with each other that leaving is not an option. It is never going to be an option. So even if I did say maybe both of them are cheating on the other with nanami, it is more likely for suguru to be the one who's stealing moments of peace and calm with him. And then he flails himself raw from the guilt of it all. He is devastated that he's wronging satoru but he cannot help himself.

And satoru knows. He knows about suguru going off to other men for peace and comfort and he sees suguru coming back to him haggard and full of guilt, and he forgives him. But he holds that over his head, too. He isn't big on telling him to stop or anything, he keeps "forgiving" suguru time and time again, only to use that fact against him to torment him. And maybe satoru sleeps with nanami once or twice but it isn't a recurring thing because nanami and satoru together are too abrasive for each other.

That's basically the cheating stsg that is picking at my brain. And maybe there's more to this. Idk.
