unfortunately i did workshop this with the army gc and i think i have a proposal. it doesn't totally work because of gender dynamics and the way the universes of corporate-competitive art performance and riverdale aren't really quite aligned, but i think i got somewhere.

First of all thank you so much for taking your time out and translating things for us to understand in a better context.

I am really curious how and when did you started supporting Jikook?? I mean if i talk about us International Army we sometimes don’t understand the context behind what they are saying for eg “Bike conversation” JK said “Romance” but he didn’t say it in a “romantic” way and we wouldn’t have known about it unless you wouldn’t have explained the context behind it. Sometimes we take their conversation in another direction as we don’t understand the context behind it… so i wanna know in AYS or even before have they talked with each other in a romantic or flirty way?? I mean we all sensed something between these two that’s why so many of us Believe in them and support them but i feel you understand them better as you can understand what they are speaking about or in which sense.. am really curious about it please enlighten us😃😃

This ask is soo cute!! Honestly, I started learning korean thanks to bts so by the time I was deep into jikook I was just learning the basics. It feels like a long time ago now lol 2018... ! But I adored their bond and, let's be honest, 2018 jikook were loud as hell. It was impossible not to love them.

But when I got better at korean, I did start realizing stuff that maybe my other jikooker friends missed at first glance. For me it's the way they speak to each other- their tone usually lowers and they sound really soft, or they add some aegyo at the end of their sentences. I'm thinking really hard of this 2019 live, when Jimin's teasing suddenly turns soft and he goes "I made my apology so may I go now?" and JK, in the quietest softest voice, says, "you may." I'm thinking of Jimin's 2021 birthday live. Honestly, there are a million examples. Plus, JK loves talking to Jimin in informal speech (banmal) since forever. Nowadays I think he's more grown and talks to all of them casually, but I noticed he's more careful or more 'polite' with the older hyungs (jin and namjoon mostly, we know he loves calling yoongi by his name pls), while with Jimin he allows himself the liberty of even scolding him. Not that JM seems to mind (in fact, he said it's his hobby... he finds JK so cute doesn't he.)

Oh, but as much as informal and soft they are, they're also too into roleplaying and speaking extra formally to each other. They did this a bunch in AYS, but also in the Vlive I just shared. They're so silly, but I think this is how they like to flirt... does anyone remember that tweet where they were facetiming in the same room? The caption was also in very formal speech!! If that's what they like... LOL (please send the tweet my way!)

Jungkook also calls Jimin pretty a lot. Pretty and cute. Jimin calls Jungkook cute every five minutes, but I think this is well known even for those who don't understand Korean.

I made a post about this already, but JK calls Jimin 'hyung' more than it seems. I'm reminded always of this 2021 content for the JPFC where JK's drawing Jimin and he says Jimin is really cute, but he doesn't forget that he's older than him.

Point is, anon, they flirt a lot. Or they joke around by flirting a lot. Did you see this moment in AYS where JK tells JM that he gave him butterflies? And then Jimin replies in formal speech, 'please let your heart flutter as much as you wish.' That's so quintessentially Jikook it made me giggle.

But I don't think I understand their dynamic any better than other jikookers! Their bond is special to us in many different and unique ways. Whatever it is that they share, it's really special, sweet and loving. They don't have a strict hyung-dongsaeng relationship and I think that's really charming, and it shows through their speech as well :)!

A blog I recommend to know more about this side of Kookmin is dalloga. She's Korean so she definitely can give you a bigger insight of this aspect of their dynamic and more detailed translations!! Her posts are golden.

A Little Farewell

With about a week left to go we had our final OT4 weverse live today and it's safe to say, we were not prepared. But I'm very grateful that they did a live all together giving us a last dose of chaos, cuteness and giggles before we'll be left to fend for ourselves for 6 months before Jin returns to us in June 2024.

The live truly was a beautiful gift that kept on giving starting with Tae's new short haircut and JK hiding his now shaved head from us, Namjoon even claiming that JKs hair is shorter than his own (JK supposedly felt inspired to shave his head a little early after he met Usher, who has pretty short hair himself, and went for it), and Jimin practically getting offended by a comment saying they wanted to see him with a buzzcut. To be honest Tae's cute little haircut looks a little like he did it himself in the dead of the night but it also makes him look like we traveled back in time to 2013 or earlier. Adorable. After so long it was really nice to see them together again, and to generally have more than one Tannie in a live together.

Since the first leaks about their military service appeared a few days ago we've seen vminies talk among themselves, and not to mention the near constant fighting that's been going on between the two xkook camps, but seeing vmin being so cute together in this live, it felt reassuring. Whatever questions or worries we might've had, they were washed away. In a way it makes sense that Tae and Jimin didn't go together, even if we all would've loved to see them go together and make use of the buddy system, but that isn't the choice they made for themselves and that's okay. It's easy to see what vmin are doing more than just fine and that's all that matters. Admin 2 really hoped we'd get a vmin handshake or hand holding, and we got two! I mean, look at all this cuteness:

And then also Tae going home in five minutes flat and doing a small solo live which was basically just him being adorable and talking to Jimin, who was immediately in the comments, before leaving again. Love when we get to third wheel them, wow, I truly will miss that a lot.

At one point in the live JK mentioned that he'd wanted to go to the special forces as well, implying that for some reason he couldn't, which makes me wonder why. Was it because of his tattoos? Either way, it's nice that he'll instead get to go with Jimin and supposedly they'll be in the training camp where Seokjin is one of the trainers so that's cute.

Speaking of Seokjin, after so long it was adorable how often Namjoon brought up Seokjin in this live. Just Jin hyung this and Jin hyung that, very cute. And they also mentioned Hobi a bunch, how he's gotten cooler and more manly, which comes as a great reminder to basically all of us that the cute boys we've known until now, well, they'll probably fade away and get replaced by more mature versions of our beloved members in the next months and they'll return to us as a different set of Tannies. And that's okay. They're grown up men so it makes sense that eventually some of that aegyo cuteness will fade away and personally I'm very curious to see how things will turn out and what they'll be like in 2025.

And I'm very curious to see if idiots will respect Namjoon's and Tae's pleas for people not to show up for their entrance ceremonies. Especially since Namjoon asked for it in three languages to make sure everyone understood it. Unfortunately I have my doubts, since we know the maknae line have some of the most unhinged solos but here's hoping.

Now, what does this mean for us now? Well, it'll be quite a while until we'll see the members slowly returning one after the other so we'd like to take this time for a 'official' hiatus as well. Admin 2 is considering a temporary "rebrand" into a BL blog since they've gotten into Thai BLs in the last year, so that's something that might happen. Would any of you be interested in something like that?

But we'll still be ARMY, still love vmin and namjin, and once the guys will return, so will we, so don't worry, we're not leaving BTS any time soon.

Let's see what the next months will bring us and what 2025 will be like when chapter 2 will come to a close and a new chapter of BTS and ARMY will open, eventually.

The blaring sound of the fire alarm mixed with Jennie's high-pitched squeals has Jane waving at the smoke from the alarm with the dishcloth, with teeth-clenching aggression.

If this thing doesn't stop wailing in the next few seconds...

It doesn't, and Jane takes measure into her own hands using a broomstick and some good old-fashioned brute strength. The alarm's blaring gradually descends into a malfunctioning wine with each hit of the wooden end of the broom, before the dorm goes completely silent.

Well, relatively silent...sans for a certain wuss' muffled cries.

Jane hops down from the marble counter with the kind of ease that clearly shows she makes counter park core a daily activity (but do not for the life of her tell jin that), tosses the broom to the floor with a clatter, and eyes the girl curled up in thr corner of the small kitchen with a judgy gaze.

"Jen, you can stop crying now ya know."

Jennie slowly looks up from her arms, warily inspecting the stove area and the alarm that's dangling by a single wire for dear life.

"Is there fire out ?" she slowly stands to approach the scene, one hand jutting out to hold onto Jane's wrist just incase danger reappears and she's in need of an effective shield.

Jane drops her eyelids. "There was no fire, Jen. Just smoke. Only smoke," she pats the brunette's head once, twice, in mock comfort, before pointing a warning finger at her. "So don't go telling Jin-"

But her warning gets cut off by the front door swinging open, three pairs of footsteps shuffling in ; and before Jane can quickly rush out what she wanted to say, the familier residents of the apartment appear in the kitchen, immediately smelling something is not right – literally.

Before either one if the boys could question it, Jennie is already shooting an arm out to point out the culprit.

Slowly, with a clenched jaw and slitted eyes, Jane turns her head to fellow member – who had just completely, and shamelessly, yeeted her under the bus.

"I figured," Jin props the plastic bags he had been carrying onto the kitchen island. "Which is why I brought backup !"

Jennie tries to muffle her snort, but she's lucky Jane is too busy gaping in offense at her brother to notice.

"Hey ! You didn't even have a littlest faith in me ?"

"Dope, I never have faith in you. That's Junho's job." Jin says casually as he begins to unpack the food contents of the plastic bags.

Jane sends a sneer his way before settling a puppy-dog gaze onto the two boys standing behind her brother. "Hobi oppa ? Joon oppa ? You guys had faith in me, right ?"

Jennie was completely gagged at the aegyo voice, whilst Jin was completely and utterly disgusted – partly because it was disturbing, but also because he knows it somehow always works on his hyungs. He hasn't quite figured out the science behind that yet.

As expected, both of the older boys melt into a warm smile at the younger girl with insanely red hair.

"We did, don't worry Jeinie !" Hoseok cokes over to sweetly pat her shoulder, to which Jane responds to with a hug, and the older happily returns it with a smile.

Everyone in the room that isn't a Hwang sibling completely misses the mocking tongue Jane sticks out at Jin as he side-eye's the pair.

"Wah ! Jjajangmyeon and tteokokki !"

Jane's attention cut towards her member that's leaping excitedly at the meal Jin and Namjoon are laying out. Her and Hoseok walk over, and her mouth instantly begins to water at the sight of the cheesy, spicy, delicious rice cakes.

As Jin distributes the meals equally, he leaves two bowls of tteokokki in the center, and subtly pushes the third in front of sister. No one objects as she's the biggest lover of the food here, and the extra one was bought specifically for her.

Jin will never reveal he had paid for it, solely because that would completely tarnish his reputation of the mean Hwang sibling.

Don't get me wrong, hating n*mjoon is one of the big reasons I dropped bts back then (to be fair he was in his aegyo era in late 2017 so you can see my problem) and I hated him being in Jimin's vicinity but Jimin LOVES him SO MUCH how am I supposed to ignore that????? Not only does Nj play into Jimin's size and authority kinks, he is the ONLY one who matches Jimin intellectually... Even if it's as basic as googling 'feminism' or banksy's palestine or just reading A Book (big ask for a bts member), Jimin gets SO starry eyed and his nerd kink kicks in and he wants to Climb Him Like A Tree even tho he's kind of a pathetic loser most of the time. (Also no one tell me shit about how jikook have the same iq I lost my trust in iq tests the day they said that). Every time Jm talks about how he and Nj have deep late night discussions on anything and everything, I just melt ok Namjoon you win this round.

Friendzoned Nj could be tea but it's more likely that Jm would keep him in the friends with benefits zone. Because something something insecurity something something he thinks namjoon deserves someone better something something he thinks hes only good for sex etc etc

so the letters are:

(예 is also a korean word for yes, and can be read both ways)

the additional i sound is common in korean words, especially those that are english words spelled in korean, because pronunciations between the two languages are slight different. and i’m not sure if this is a case of aegyo (cute speak) or loan words (words in another language, spelled in korean) or both. but it’s the general concept of both, i feel like? someone who speaks korean fluently would know more.

I wanted to write a fic about a Jimin who got bullied for his feminine name, for his soft face, for his ‘girly’ hobby. A Jimin who sought acceptance by dancing and dressing as masculine as he could, by hungering until his jaw finally looked sharp and defined.

Who met Yoongi and recoiled. Yoongi should be cold and badass and the epitome of masculinity. But he wasn’t. He was soft-spoken and caring and knew how to sew and cook. He liked doing aegyo and being silly.

He liked kissing boys just as much as kissing girls.

He said there’s no difference, only people.

And this Jimin got confused. Because- there’s only men and women, right? Only being a guy or being a girl, right?

Who better to ask than their leader who hated that he hurt people and went to learn how to never do that again.

So Jimin asked and Namjoon. Namjoon took a long while to answer, well-thought out and trying to explain all those foreign concepts as best he could in Korean. It made Jimin’s head swim, half of it making no sense whatsoever at first.

But then.

Then he had time to digest.

Between fittings and scoldings and heavy makeup.

Where he looked into the mirror and for the first time in years thought he might like what he saw.

When they were doing their own makeup, it was rough and unrefined and very late 2000s. But now that the noonadeul were taking care of it, Jimin saw something… attractive there. The eyeshadow was nothing he’d ever have tried on his own. Neither was the lipstick.

He turned his head this way and that and thought about the definition of masculinity and how it was so, so varied even among the seven of them.

Maybe the yelling in his ears would never die down, maybe those insults would forever cut Jimin when he saw himself like this, but the joy, pure unadulterated joy, would forever be worth it.

It began like this. Seeing the feminine and accepting it. Realising that it didn’t and never could taint his masculinity.

But then.

But then he started to experiment. And realised. That perhaps it wasn’t just a- a feminine side.

Taehyung brought back a pair of heels so high, Jimin was convinced he’d fall over should he try to wear them and yet all he felt was utter envy that Taehyung got to wear them, dance in them. He watched, jaw tight, as Taehyung pranced through the small living room, and left, far too abruptly to escape anyone’s notice.

And sure enough, not a minute later Taehyung came into Jimin’s room without so much as a by your leave. They fought, Jimin throwing around words whose knife-sharp edges he knew all too well, and Taehyung called him a disappointment.

It was never just about a dumpling.

But it was four o’clock when Jimin finally made his way to the playground after a gruelling talk about his feelings with Yoongi of all people. Mostly because Namjoon was busy talking to Taehyung and neither Seokjin nor Hoseok wanted to get involved.

And Jungkook. Jungkook was mostly confused, watching with scared eyes as his hyungdeul fought about something seemingly inconsequential for days.

But it was past four o’clock, almost morning, almost time to start their day, when Jimin stepped onto the playground, sitting down wordlessly next to Taehyung and staring out across the darkened park. It took him a while, the words still lodged in his throat from shame and anger and guilt.

But once he started, he couldn’t stop speaking, only interrupted when Taehyung wordlessly took his hand at some point. He spent a moment staring, their fingers intertwined and comically out of proportion to his tired mind.

And as the sky grew lighter around them, night indeed the darkest just before morning, Taehyung, using words he clearly wasn’t quite familiar with yet, told Jimin just how alike they were, just how deeply Jimin’s words had cut.

Jimin was sobbing by the time Taehyung finished and he was on his knees before Taehyung could stop him, rubbing his hands and begging for forgiveness because how could he ever do what others had done to him? And to Taehyung to boot. To his best friend. His soulmate.

By the end they were both kneeling and crying, their arms wrapped around one another so tightly, Jimin knew he’d feel the embrace for hours to come.

And under the first rays of the sun, Jimin pulled back, just far enough to cup Taehyung’s face, to stroke his cheek and smile, asking for forgiveness one last time before he leaned in and pressed his lips to Taehyung’s cold cheek.

It made Taehyung gasp, but if Jimin expected him to pull away and laugh it off, he’d have been sorely disappointed, because instead Taehyung leaned in, pressing their lips together, something chaste enough to brush it of as friendly. But Jimin felt it down into the tips of his frozen toes, of his fingers clenched in Taehyung’s hoodie.

They parted and Jimin knew they had found stable ground. No more lies, no more masks between them. No more omitted words about shared feelings.

They left the park with held hands and new certainty, but Jimin knew that whatever was between them was a whispered secret in the pre-dawn light. Known to the others by sheer inescapability, but melting as morning mist under the sunlight.

With how many words they had already spoken between the lines, they didn’t mind adding a few more.

And when Jimin managed for the first time to walk on Taehyung’s insane heels without falling, Hoseok was there to cheer him on and Jungkook demanded a turn, completely convinced he’d be able to nail it at once. Thankfully the small bruise on his forehead was easily hidden by makeup though Jimin and Taehyung couldn’t help but tease the maknae for his hubris.

Heels were not the last thing Jimin tried on and out. There were skirts and trousers and tops of all kinds and he became a little daring, tucking away as much as he could and wearing trousers that accented his hips and thighs.

It still got too much some times. Even with Taehyung’s soothing lips and Yoongi’s steady hands. Even with Namjoon’s reassuring words and Hoseok’s warm hugs. With Seokjin’s quiet companionship and Jungkook’s ability to distract him.

There were days where Jimin was infinitely glad about being bone-tired and not awake enough to perceive his body. Where he let the makeup and styling noonadeul do whatever they wanted without checking the result in the mirror before he went on stage.

Days where seeing either side of the coin in the mirror would have been more than he could bear.

And then a time came where he wasn’t being perceived by anyone at all. Not even Taehyung was allowed to visit and Jimin lost all concept of dressing to be seen for a while. He was lost in so many ways, drifting in the darkness he hadn’t felt this keenly in years.

ARMY NOTES -on 130804 BTS held a fansign at Lotte Department Store in Gwuangju (which as you may or may not remember is Hobi's hometown) -I believe the reason Yoongi keeps calling himself Shrek in his tweets is because majority of the footage and pictures (1,2,3) of him from the event came out with a green tint or slight green huing.
