If I could I would like to talk about the very second "nalu moment" in the series that takes place in episode 2. (The first I would like to believe is him telling her he's taking her to fairy tail.)

But this moment...

This was a major nalu moment for 2 reasons, 1 way more obvious than the other.

So let's start with the obvious.

First of all, for those who haven't made it to the grand magic games arc for any reason...

MAJOR SPOILER WARNING!

This is how Natsu remembered this moment. Which automatically gives it points for NaLu.

If you recall, towards the end of the grand magic games arc when the dragons attacked, Lucy was targeted by future rogue. Future Lucy, however, used her body as a shield and saved present Lucy's life. We then find out that the way we initially thought Natsu would remember the moment she officially joined was not how he remembered it at all, but instead remembered it as what seems to have been one of his core Lucy memories.

But I have a theory as well.

Here we can see that Lucy's favorite colors are pink and blue. However, unlike everyone else in the guild. Her outfit nor hair even once match her guild mark (with the exception of pajamas). Gray usually wears black pants to match his, erza wears a blue skirt to match hers, wendy wears blue in every outfit to match hers, and even natsu at least once wore red to match his, which if I'm being honest the color of his guild mark could have more to do with igneel seeing as his scales are red, but that's a totally different topic for another time. But lucy primarily wears blue and white. Neither of which is the color of her guild mark.

Why is this important?

As you may have guessed it has to do with my personal theory.

Does anyone remember how excited she was to show her guild mark to Natsu specifically? The moment she had it she ran to him to show him without hesitation.

I promise there's a reason for all these points.

Well my personal theory has to do with her guild mark, if that wasn't obvious already.

Again several times with everyone else in the guild we see them wear outfits to match their guild marks, but the only outfit lucy has ever matched with her guild mark was her pajamas.

So why did she choose a pink guild mark?

My theory is...

Because it matches Natsu's hair!

He was the first one she wanted to show her guild mark to.

He was the one that brought her to fairy tail.

AND he saved her from bora and his men!

To me, this was her way of showing her appreciation for Natsu.

And to me this also ties in with the "natsus core memory" bit.

Another headcanon is he remembered this because this moment touched him. He was the first person she wanted to show and her guild mark is the same color as his hair. To him, seeing her guild mark for the first time could've meant the world to him. But they just met so he couldn't let her know that.

It's just my personal little theory/head-canon. But it's still so cute none the less to think that this might be a possibility.

to natsu, nalu is basically canon

i've had this thought for a while now but

i think natsu dragneel already has it in his mind that he and lucy are.... Together together. Girlfriend Boyfriend. Husband Wife. Married With Kids.

one day lucy gathers enough guts to confess to natsu and he just goes "lucy i dont get it why are you confessing are we not already together but yes i love you too you weirdo"

and lucy is like ... "what did you just say"

and we finally figure out that natsu basically thought they were dating this whole time. and lucy's losing her mind and going "why didnt you SAY anything???" and natsu, dumb dork that he is, just goes "you have to say it???"

AND I GET IT!!! like,,, she's his number one priority every time, sleeps at her house, spends most of his time with her, puts his head in his lap when he's motion sick, saves/catches her multiple times, basically has seen her naked (and only ever showed physical attraction to her and no one else), considers her his best friend and with happy they make this little quaint family, and he doesn't understand why she thought they weren't together. she rewrote his book ffs and saved his life.

HE UPROOTED A WHOLE RAINBOW TREE AND SAILED IT DOWN A RIVER FOR HER. even natsu dragneel, "i love my nakama" incarnate, wouldn't do that for anyone else. so of course he thinks they're together. and lucy just thinks they're tethering on the edge of romance and friendship.

in every universe there was, natsu and lucy were always together. edo-natsu and edo-lucy who have a kid now, and even in "fairy nail" nakku and lusha.

they're just meant to be Together in every way sense and form. natsu knows that!!!

zeref creating Natsu and messing with life and death gave him Ankhseram's Curse (Idk if that’s exactly spelt right) yet Lucy rewrote the book and made sure Natsu stayed alive and yet also messed with that stuff and there was no (lasting) effects

does she ever think that she might face some sort of consequences because of her messing with that yet at the same time as long as Natsu was alive and existing it wouldn’t matter to her

Lucy also getting the same curse would be so devastating but also really interesting imo

I’m so conflicted because i feel as if there would be no solution to that fate as we saw with zeref and Mavis yet I’d want a happy ending with nalu ;(

also I know i guess it’s different because zeref was the one who actually brought him back and messed more with that stuff yada yada but lucy still did mess with that side of things because Natsu shouldn’t of existed when zeref died yet lucy kinda brought him back and sort of became the author of his existence or something idk

it would be interesting if they went on missions after the war and people were mysteriously passing away randomly somehow at points until it clicks in Lucy one day and once she realises she is GONE

idk I’ve thought about this a lot over the years so just some thoughts some of it might not make sense I’m tired and it’s hard to write it to make sense like in my head lmao

All this talk about Natsu going exit game made me remember a theory that doesn't get brought up often enough in my opinion. How do you feel about the possibility that when Lucy rewrote the Book END she accidentally became its new author? essentially replacing Zeref and the connection to Natsu's lifeforce. So, if she dies, so does Natsu.

I feel like that theory is so on brand for the original series, that as Natsu's new author, he and Lucy share a connection. If Lucy's badly hurt, it physically affects Natsu, you know? I'd seriously love for that to be true.

Looking at it from another lense though, I suppose it would suck for Natsu to only ever get to experience life in a sort of co-dependency. He would die if Zeref were to die, now he'd die if Lucy did. It's one of those things i'd end up mourning, becuase at the end of the day, I don't want Natsu to only live life in regards of someone else. He should have access to everything that it offers, no matter if a certain person dies or not.

If we added a part to this theory though, I'd be more intrigued again. Because what if rewriting the END-book meant that Lucy had to offer a piece of her own soul for it to work - as an author this sort of adds up, since I often feel that I end up sharing a piece of myself though my works. Lucy sharing her soul with the book that carries Natsu's life would also mean that if Natsu were to get harmed, so would Lucy - the sensory link would go both ways. No one's safe, their souls are interlinked. That's the sort of dependency I could support, mainly because it would mean that they both would suffer from it.

In addition to these theories, I feel like it could be interesting to add another criteria to the original "Natsu dies if Lucy dies" thought - as long as Lucy's alive, Natsu can't die. He could be blown to pieces, but he'd have a sound mind as long as Lucy would. It could end up with some pretty bad horror scenes, but it sure would be interesting to see if Lucy would be the type to build a body for Natsu, essensially making him an anderoid, or if she'd end her own life to save Natsu from suffering.

Part 2: Natsu’s Beloved Scarf

Every Fairy Tail knows how much Natsu cherishes the scarf given to him by Igneel. It is his last physical connection to his beloved father. He is rarely seen without it. He was very upset when Zeref’s attacked caused the scarf to become black after protecting him. He loves the scarf beyond measure.

The scarf is made from Igneel’s fallen dragon scales (turning from red to white). While Natsu never gave much thought to how the scarf was made, it is obvious that Igneel can’t make a scarf for a human (being a huge dragon and all). Anna Heartfilia - celestial mage, teacher to the dragon slayers, and ancestor of Lucy - knit the scarf for Natsu.

The invisible string connects Natsu and Lucy beyond their own interactions. A part of Natsu past is connected to Lucy’s family 400 years ago. The scarf remains with him through thick and thin.

Additionally, Lucy knows how important it is to Natsu. She is often seen keeping the scarf safe and is the only one who Natus allows to use to the scarf (especially in the 100 year quest). Essentially, this demonstrates how a simple scarf connects Natsu and Lucy.

Current State of NaLu:

The new 100YQ chapter just reaffirms the current theory of Natsu thinking him and Lucy are dating without asking her or knowing that she doesn't think the same 😭.

NaLu was never "will they, won't they", it's "when will they (realize that they're totally not on the same page about their relationship despite having mutual feelings because one is thinking about marriage while the other is convinced her feelings are unrequited)"

Fairy tail 100 Year Quest SPOILERS AHEAD

Okay so there's this one thing that is making me kind of crazy and it's the whole "wishes" deal in 100yq

As they said in the beginning, they would be granted anything their heart wished as long as it was from earthland, and we get a vague idea of what they want.

We only get to read about 3 wishes tho, Lucy, Gray and Wendy's.

Gray wanted a cat like frosh, and I have a little theory that Fortune may become his cat

Erza seems very skeptical about the whole thing (I can't really blame her)

Wendy wanted a bigger chest (I'm not taking this as valid because it's dumb as fuck)

Lucy, obviously, was going to wish for Aquarius's key, the thing is, she has it already, so her wish is now unknown.

And then we have Natsu, who doesn't say shit about it, AND IT KEEPS ME UP AT NIGHT

I would have expected him to mention something, anything, even if it was stupid, like an infinite amount of food idk, but he doesn't say anything.

I think I saw someone say something about him wanting to ask to bring Igneel back to life, but I hardly believe Natsu would do something like that, he has already accepted his death and messing with it wouldn't bring anything good.

So we have Natsu and Lucy left for the wishes, and you know what is giving me mad anxiety?

The fact that both of them having their wishes not revealed may be related to this

I have absolutely NO IDEA what is going to happen, there is a possibility of obvious angst, BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHO IS GOING TO BE INVOLVED. Trying to connect the dots that I have it would be Natsu, Lucy and Aquarius, giving Nalu a chance to develop but this is just my desperate Nalu ass talking lmao.

Dragon-Demon!Natsu x Witch!Lucy - Accidental Aphrodisiac

“Something felt inexplicably wrong when she gulped down her newest testing brew.

Was truth serum supposed to make your body tingle all over and your nerves felt like they were on fire?

Lucy truly didn't know and had no time to think when a raucous heat suddenly flared up from the bottom of her belly, coaxing through her veins like wildfire, and pushing against her skin so adamantly that the slightest touch would have make her burst at the seam.

Just as she thought the flaring heat was a side effect from the fire lilies powder, an ingredient notoriously known for raking up travellers' body temperature when hiking through icy climate, mixed in the potion earlier, her theory was proven wrong when zaps of electric tingles sporadically shot through her nerves, bringing the blonde to her knees in quick succession.

The unbearable heat now concentrated within the pit of her lower belly, pressing against her nether regions insistently, which made slicks pooled and trailed down the curves of her inner thighs, much to the young witch's mortification. The cotton fabric of her once innocent dress also rubbed tortuously against her gradually pebbled protruded buds, shooting more pleasurable tingles down to her wet pulsing heat.

Hastily shedding off her dress and undergarment, Lucy moaned in relief as the cool air nibbled her bare form, momentarily clearing her dizzy head enough to move and crash onto the bed.

But that brief relief swiftly bit the dust when spasms of tingling pleasure once again assaulted her high-strung nerves, making her sensitive peaks hardened to the point of pain and more slick gushing out of her twitching private, gradually wetting the sheet.

Somewhere in the back of her delirious brain, a tiny part that was still coherent enough, pointed out that she may have mistakenly laced an aphrodisiac indulgent ingredient into her truth serum, a rookie mistake that would soon gravely cost her pride.

The issue wasn’t just that she was feeling horny. No, the real, big elephant-size of a problem was that she was feeling horny, and wouldn’t be able to lie her way out to save her face, courtesy to the potion effects.

“Saliva dripped down his chin as his nose flare up to take in the wonderful, mouthwatering scent permeated the air when he parted Lucy’s luscious thighs.

“Fuck, do you have any idea how delicious you smell right now Lucy?” A salacious grin stretched widely on the dragon’s face at the blonde’s hesitant shaking “You smell like a goddamn feast that attracts every hungry fuckers out there to come and have a taste, even more enticing that you’re ovulating.”

“What?! You can smell that I’m ovulating? How?!” Blood rushed to her cheeks and Lucy was sure she couldn’t get any impossibly redder, ignoring that she was buck naked underneath Natsu’s towering form, his callous heated hand splaying her thighs opened for greedy slanted eyes to see, and more focusing on the fact that her privacy was preached.

“Tsk tsk. Didn’t peg you as such a forgetful person little miss witch, but I’m a dragon-demon remembered? We possessed a far superior senses than those of you mere human” The demon leaned closer to her face, his hands making themselves known by stroking the plush milky skin of her underthighs, precariously closed to her twitching dripping core. Scaly dragon tail wrapped around the small of her waist, preventing her from escaping his voracious, heated stare and the impish smirk stretched wide on his cocky, handsome face.

“Not just that, I can smell your arousal from miles away. Such potent scent that made me wanted to kill every bastard who dared to take a whiff of it. Tell me Lucy, is it all for me?” Her breath hitched as she watched those usual expressive hazel eyes taken on a red tinge, slitted pupils blown wide, and long tongue darted out to swipe suggestively across his supple lips.

Natsu watched in rapture as the blonde witch’s curvaceous body underneath him gave an involuntary shudder, her heart pounding rapidly at his possessive words. Though he could see that she undeniably wanted to deny the question, the way her rosy tips perked up even harder, scant inches from rubbing deliciously against his broad chest, and the imperceptible squelching sound of her wet wall clenching, producing even more of those delicious nectar, betrayed her entirely.

Oh, she was more than attracted to him alright. Had been for a while now, and he had to physically restrain himself from pouncing upon her oblivious form every time she pranced around in that tiny, tight-fitted black dress, while emitting those mouthwatering Lucy-eques smell whenever she threw glances at him which she thought he didn’t notice.

Natsu had been biding his time, waiting for his pretty little witch to stop being in denial and admitted her feelings for him. But she was too stubborn for her own good, and he was this close to jump upon and shoved his feelings onto her, his only restraint was the thought of scaring her away and leaving him heartbroken without his mate.

And seeing such a good opportunity like this fell on his laps out of nowhere, he would be fucking stupid to pass this up when her mind was being as honest as her body. If accidentally seeing her pleasuring herself and unraveling beautifully with his name screaming to the high heaven didn’t do it, hearing her admitted her desire for him would further cement his resolve to claim her cute perky ass.

“Yes..It’s all because of you Natsu. I-I’ve had feelings you for a while now.” Lucy couldn’t look at the zealous man hovering above her as words spilled out of her lips without restraint. Cursed the truth serum for pulling out all the hidden feelings for the demon-dragon which she had tucked away in the depth of her heart.

Falling for the mythical being she accidentally summoned during one of her practice was not within her intention. But who could blame her when he seemed to be the only living being who was constantly around, though solely because of his biding to the summoner, and gradually befriended the lonely witch living secludedly from civilization.

It’s also not fair when Natsu was sporting such wild, devilishly handsome look. From his strong, sharply jawline to the chiseled body and steeled abs he often liked to flaunt around in his open-flapped vest. Wasn’t demons supposed to be all gnarly looking like the stories her Mama used to scare her to sleep?

A hot hand grabbed her chin to pull her head back and Lucy suddenly couldn’t breath at the intense gaze the pinkett was directing at her, a myriad of emotions - satisfaction, adoration and lust, flashed through his red tinged hazel eyes as his chest rumbled with a loud purr.

“Good girl. That wasn’t so hard to admit right?” His thumb stroking her cheek affectionately, the action contradict with the predatory gaze he set upon her, looking like he wanted to devour her whole. “And do you know what a good girl get? A reward.”

His words punctured as a lone thick finger pushed into her tight wall till the knuckle, making Lucy gasp for air at the sudden intrusion into her fluttering channel.

“Ahh..!” God, his finger was so much thicker and reaching deeper than her measly fingers could ever do, pulling a high-pitched mewl from her lips as she wound her arms tightly around his neck.

“Damn. Just a finger in and you’re already squeezing like crazy Luce. You sure you didn’t play with yourself enough earlier?” Natsu kissed and nibbled her red-tinted ears, thoroughly enjoying himself at her sensitive and responsive reactions to his crude words, heightened further by the potion effect.

“I’m gonna prepare you throughly, stretching you wide open enough to feed you all of me. And I promise ya, by the end of this, your thoughts would be filled with nothing but me and only me, my beautiful little witch.”

I saw a theory where since Natsu was raised by a dragon, he doesn’t really understand relationships &/or how to confess, so he might already think Lucy and him are already dating. But Lucy needs a confession bc well she’s Lucy. That’s why Natsu is so close to Lucy.

(Although one flaw.. Natsu always calls Lucy his friend through-out the series)

I am reading HYQ but am not caught up, so I may not have much to offer! However, I will echo what everyone else has been saying that the Water Dragon God fight was awesome, if only for the moment Natsu's darker side came out.

This ^ moment has been talked about to death, but it is genuinely one of my favorites that has ever happened in the series. Don't even get me started on how E.N.D. was fumbled in the Alvarez arc. This made that wound a little easier to bear. We ate well this day 😌.

From what I can tell, no more NaLu development has happened from that point on, and it has been severely disappointing... Natsu's character stagnation has been tough, too 😔.

So with that said, here is what I am hoping for (but not too hard... because I don't want to be hurt again lol):

NaLu Development: We are begging for scraps at this point. Give me another "Come back to me! This isn't you!" moment in bright neon flashing letters. Give me angst / hurt / comfort. Happy for them, but how did we get Gruvia before NaLu? I don't know, I don't care, I don't want anything else. Give me my OTP. 🤲

E.N.D. Development: (See #1 for the "This isn't you!" moment). If the Great Disappointing Demon Seed has run its course, PLEASE give me a struggle between Natsu's darker side and his humanity. Call it the influence of Ignia's flames, or dig up E.N.D. again. I don't care -- Serve it to me here *taps table* on a silver platter. Make Natsu go berserk. REAL berserk. Oh, it's not in character for him to truly go too far and hurt the ones he loves? That's the point. Instead of a dumb boob joke, have him actually reflect and talk with his team about what's going on, and how to handle it. Then develop NaLu by having her pull him back again. Boom. Subplot. Done. ✔️

That's it. That's all I would like to see in the series. That's all anyone wants to see in the series (don't worry, I asked).

I feel like we're not asking for much 😭?

I think the most heartbreaking part of this is because in the first picture, that’s Future Natsu doing the forehead touch with Future Lucy, and he promises her that they’ll be okay.

But in the second picture, that’s Present Natsu doing the forehead touch with Future Lucy. Present Natsu who had no idea that Future Natsu did that with Future Lucy. He did that gesture out of his own love and gratitude to Future Lucy for going back in time to protect their future.

And the reason Future Lucy is crying in the second picture is because she remembers how her Natsu from the Future did the exact same thing. And her Natsu is dead. And this one, still alive, made her remember how her Natsu did this gesture and she lost him after.

In this one shot alone, you can see the love, sadness, gratitude, and fear that Future Lucy and Present Natsu is experience.

And I just love them so much more for it.

I read this Nalu fic and Lucy even mentored she has no right to be angry at natsu for leaving he lost his father and she might have lost Aquarius but she's still out there somewhere .

Now I'm wondering what if after Lucy broke Aquarius key, Aquarius did get reborn along side her key .

The Aquarius that Lucy knew is gone, the Aquarius Scorpio was dating is gone. Now what remains is a different Aquarius maybe it's a child Aquarius ( shout out to her child design) or a completely different Aquarius who still has the mermaid tail and the water magic. But hair color different (example green) and maybe her personality is low-key similar (loud and sassy ) or completely different (quite and wise)

Just think of the angst potential.

as far as i remember she is still alive but lets dive into this what if scenario hehe

just my own take, but the more powerful the spirit, the closer the reborn person to themselves in their previous life. so, Aquarius, as powerful as she was, i think she could reincarnate into her mini self just as Zeref and Mavis!

once again, shout out to her child design, she would rock her sass with pride and nonchalance, and yet- i think she would definitely feel something in her heart, while looking at Scorpio as she reappears in the spirit world, and i imagine it would be a very big and powerful event, maybe even rambling into the earth land in any form? maybe other Celestials would perform some kind of ritual magic to fill her with needed knowledge or maybe she’s born either it? once again im so sorry if there is info about this, im just bubbling on my own

her key would be likely lost somewhere, buried under the ocean even, i can’t really think 😵‍💫 but i believe, the moment Aquarius is reborn, Lucy would feel it as well as the need to find her, like it was with Natsu and Igneel kind of thing

and surely, angst would be there, since no matter what happens, her and Scorpio wouldn’t be happy as a couple, not when she lost her memory and now learned how to be a zodiac. maybe she’ll grow and become good friends with him, maybe even get a crush, but from his side he couldn’t relive the relationship once again.

and as badly as she wouldn’t want or understand it, she would be so gravitated towards the earth, it would it her from inside out. of course she wouldn’t know why, but we all know, it will continue until Lucy will be able to find the new key and meet her grumpy auntie 🤭

Part 3: Zeref Dragneel and the Heartfilia Clan

Zeref Dragneel - the infamous Black Wizard, creator of demons, and Natsu’s older brother - worked with the Heartfilia Clan to achieve his goals.

After reviving Natsu, Zeref allowed Igneel and Anna Heartfilia to teach him. Furthermore, he teamed with Anna to not only create the Eclipse Gate but to open it with Celestial Magic to send Natsu and the dragon slayers to the future.

Generations of the Heartfilia family passed on secret which eventually led to Layla Heartfilia - Lucy’s mother. She opened the Gate to ensure Lucy wouldn’t have to take on the burden and have a normal life. By opening it, Anna and the dragon slayers entered the future.

The invisible string connected Natsu to Lucy due to the Eclipse gate being opened during her era. Several events took place before Natsu and Lucy met however they were predestined to one another from their respective families.

With this current chapter, we now have 700 chapters between the original manga and 100 Years Quest. My theory has long been if NaLu’s gonna happen, it’s happening on the 726th chapter between both series. I don’t think 26 chapters is enough to make it believably happen, but we’ll see.

And thus, the countdown begins. See you in a year.
