I'm trying to find a Modern AU NaLu story. I remember that Natsu is either a firefigher or woodworker and has his own house. Makarov is his adopted dad alongside Cana, Laxus, and Erza. It had a little bit of Jerza too where they were trying to reconnect and Erza is a cop so she ties Jellal to her bed and leaves him there? They all had xmas together at Makarov's house and Laxus and Cana have a heart to heart?

Fairy Tail Re-Read - Volume 1
Alright so I originally typed this on twitter but from here on out I’ll probably write it here first, or somethin’ like that. Sorry for my poor grammar I’m better at drawin funny pictures than I am at typing. “Officially started my third reread of Fairy Tail yesterday and finished volume 1 just a minute ago. Still feels so exciting reading this series, will never get tired of Chapter 2 and being introduced to the actual Fairy Tail Guild. Makarov's little speech in that chapter always feels magical (pun half-intended) to read, it's a really inspiring way of describing Magic in general. The Macao Chapter still gets me a little emotional, really wish we got to see more of him after this but it at least leaves a strong impression.”
“I also really like seeing Mashima's early art, I love his art in general but whenever I look back on early FT art and the entirety of Rave Master I just find myself super motivated to capture that feeling of raw passion dripping off of it. The Volume 1 cover is also just pleasant to look at. I'm excited to go into the Duke Everlue arc even if it is admittedly a pretty slow section of the story to get through when knowing everything that follows. I might do like, a continuous thread through the rest of my reading of the series. There probably won't be any images as not to clog up my media tab but this might be fun. We'll see though, no garauntees lol.” Okay so this part was from twitter but I also wanted to talk about the After Word Segment at the very end of the volume, it’s always interesting to hear about early versions of a series, and knowing that originally Fairy Tail was just gonna be about what is essentially a delivery company with a weird lil demon-horned version of Natsu as our protagonist is crazy. Like I can’t even imagine what that would have been like. Also still a fan of how despite Natsu being the more primary protagonist of the series we start with Lucy and have Natsu sorta just run into the plot by chance. I’m not personally a NaLu Shipper (nothing against the ship, I totally get why it’s a thing and have no problem with it being featured in the series as much as it is. Just isn’t my thing really) but these two interacting is always a treat, Natsu literally grabbing Lucy to run from the cops while taking to her to the Guild is still such a great moment of the series. So for future notice I have a feeling that if I do these FT Re-Read Posts, they’re gonna be here more often, and since it’s on Tumblr I’m less worried about posting images. So i’ll just make note of this now, I own the entirety of Fairy Tail physically, it was a really fun project/goal I had during the pandemic, and those volumes are what i’m using for my reread. That said I will be using images from unofficial manga reading sites in order to show them off properly for examples, mainly because I don’t know where to view it officially online, and even if I did those sites don’t really let me copy paste the images. Just want to be transparent about this, cause my brain told me too.

Magnolia Ninety-Nine: Code 3
Hey lovelies! It’s been a while and I finally finished editing the hell out of chapter 3, I’m just hoping there are no errors anymore but I’ve given up looking for it at this point. Anyway, hope you enjoy! Keep your hands clean, follow the authorities, be aware, stop fucking hoarding. Love y’all.
Also, stream Map of the Soul: 7.
Plot: Natsu Dragneel is a prodigy who was born to be a cop who's hell-bent on defeating his partner on perp count but what happens when a brown-haired lady barges in a demands audience with the Captain? Throw in a writer wanna-be, a nosy and obnoxious partner, and a whole band of terrorists waiting to kill everyone and you've got yourself a town that's not to be missed.
               story:      |fanfiction.net|     code 3:       |fanfiction.net|
Preview:
"Damn, that shit head's here already?" Gajeel muttered as he sipped his morning coffee. They all turned their heads towards the thing that caught the bigger man's attention and saw Duke Everloo waving down with about a dozen or more women around him. They were in front of the hotel they were staying and the whole squad watched as they all went in.
"Careful, Gajeel." Mira smiled, her eyes on the pile of paperwork in front of her. "He might be rotten to the core but he's still a Duke who holds more power than the likes of us ever could."
"Yeah, power that he clearly doesn't deserve." Gajeel scoffed and drained the rest of the mug's content down his system. "I'm kinda hoping that Dragneel here screwed up this time so that dick gets the treatment he deserves."
"You mean some blood?" Jellal piped in, a manila envelope in his hand as he was passing through the bullpen on the way to the precinct's archives. "I don't think anybody would be pleased with that. Natsu will definitely lose his job and the royal family, although not very fond of the Duke, will still induce some kind of punishment to the whole squad and I'm pretty sure there will be backlash from the people because it's a major event for everybody."
Natsu stared at the pardoned convict whose words were too eloquent for someone who once committed crime after crime.
"I agree with the man." They all turned their heads to Gray who had been silent until now. "If something were to happen to the Duke, there's a great possibility that it will affect the pageant negatively. Nobody wants that when everybody pretty much gathered here for the goddamned event like its the Olympics or something."
"For once, you're clearly making sense." Natsu barked and whacked Gray's back, making him sputter with the sudden lack of air.
"Why, you piece of-" Gray started, standing up from his seat before Laxus cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.
"I just got a report from one of the uniformed officers saying one of the women went missing. It hasn't been twenty-four hours yet so we can't really tell if she went missing or is just out on a walk but it's better to be prepared." Laxus turned to Gray and Natsu who stopped their bickering mid-way to listen to the Sergeant. "You're requested at the hotel and you're to stay there until this whole thing is done. The Duke requested a detective just in case anything goes wrong. Gray's assigned to the Duke himself so there's no change in that. Natsu, you're to stay with a few uniformed officers and take action."
The two nodded their heads and picked up their things, their bodies moving way ahead of their minds out of instinct and practice.
"How long has she been missing?" Natsu asked as he fastened his holster around his shoulders and shoving his gun inside.
"About eight hours now."

A McDanno rec list for a new friend. (These are also authors I enjoy, so consider this a blanket rec list.)
The Bareknuckle Poet by pleasebekidding
After a serious accident left Steve temporarily wheelchair-bound, working towards his recovery, he enrolled at Rutgers for a year. He met Danny Williams in his criminology course, wearing pride pins and chipped black nail polish, so sure of himself that Steve found it breathtaking. What happened next redefined Steve's sense of self, his ambitions, and many of his priorities.
Tax Benefits by renecdote
“Everyone already assumes we’re married so maybe we should just...” Danny gestures broadly with his beer. He’s maybe a little bit… Not drunk, but definitely tipsy.
“For the tax benefits.”
Danny gives him an aggravated look. “Yes, Steven, for the tax benefits.”
Danny (jokingly) suggests they should get married. Steve takes him seriously.
ua kaha aku la ka nalu o kuu aina (the surf has pressed upon my land) by icoulddothisallday, TetrodotoxinB
Steve knows, he learned, how a man behaves. He can play his part. Danny, who is a good man and great father, looks nothing like what Steve was taught. Reconciling the two means giving up everything he's clung too for the last two decades, and there's nothing about it that's easy.
*potentially triggery AF (deals with effects of conversion therapy) but beautifully rendered
the art of leaving and saying goodbye by Verasteine
2007 is the year Danny learns that choice can be the worst kind of heartbreak. AU.
*warning for infidelity (not mcdanno)
in jest by apathyinreverie
“No, babe,” Danny shakes his head with a grin. “If the apocalypse were to go down while I’m elsewhere for some godforsaken reason, then you stay put and I’m coming to wherever you are.” His grin widens. “And I expect you to have cleared any aliens or zombies or whatever else might be messing with us off the island and to have set up a nice, comfortable military dictatorship for us to rule over by the time I get back.”
It’s a joke.
Of course it’s a joke.
Until it isn’t.
(A the-day-after-tomorrow-style apocalypse AU, where the world decides to end right when Danny is visiting one of the other islands with Grace. Because, of course, it does.)
not just friendship (romance too) by earthquakedream
Steve's gone and gotten himself a boyfriend. Danny's not sure what worse: the fact that he's stupidly jealous or that he actually likes the guy.
All I Ever Wanted (It Comes with a Price) by leviarty
Steve gets shot. Again. Danny is not okay.
* warning: a young grace shoots someone to protect both herself and a gravely injured steve
After All Our Troubles, We Have This by Banshi13
"I'm ending this," McGarrett muttered after a few moments of silence. "I'm not coming back until Wo Fat is in the ground. I'll dig his own grave and bury him myself if I have to, but my father is dead, my mother is running all over the world in hiding, my sister and I were uprooted from our lives, and now he's got Danny locked somewhere in a basement in the middle of Japan." He looked both Chin and Kono in the eye, deadly resolve in his eyes. "This ends. Now. This is the absolute last time that man interferes with my life and my family."
The Other Guy by haldoor
Danny tells Steve what he thinks is a funny story from when he attended Grace's school play. Steve doesn't think it's so funny; in fact, it makes him jealous.
Strapped by stellarmeadow
Steve's determined Danny's going to be prepared next time.
Warm to the Touch by veronicaluv
Danny didn't think twice about going to North Korea to find Steve. He just didn't know everything would go to hell when they got back.
Me and my heart (We got issues) by SquaresAreNotCircles
“I’m in love with you, Steve,” Danny says. He does it softly, quietly, laying the words into the darkness of Steve’s backyard like they’re something breakable, something to be tiptoed around. “I thought you should know.”
Steve’s heart jumps. It rams against his ribcage so hard it’s going to leave bruises. So hard he startles awake, and he almost yells before he realizes he’s outside because he fell asleep in one of the garden chairs in his backyard again.
how to be gay for your best friend in ten easy steps by commatme
See, the thing is that Danny doesn’t really do gay sex, what with being straight and all, but when Steve says I love you he sounds so earnest he makes Danny want to consider it. Which is crazy, right? He’s pretty sure that’s crazy, or at least a little unhinged.
It’s Not So Easy Caving In by paradis
The one where Danny used to be a heroin addict.
blame it on the ocean view by carryokee
Danny gives in, freaks out, and comes to his senses.
So Have I Loved You by Brumeier
In which Grace has a surprise for Steve's birthday and there's not a dry eye in the house.
take it back to a couple years yesterday by itsrosencrantz
Danny really, really doesn't want to go to his twenty year high school reunion.
Steve decides they're going anyway, and Danny takes it about as well as you'd expect.
View From The Shipwreck by flowerfan
Danny Williams isn’t in a great place – he’s a reluctant transplant to Oahu and an outsider at HPD. Former Navy SEAL Steve McGarrett isn’t doing much better, having suffered a career ending injury. When Danny’s young daughter Grace wanders into Steve’s bar after getting lost on a school field trip, Danny is drawn to Steve, somewhat against his better judgement – he’s got enough on his plate. He’s not exactly sure what Steve sees in him. As they spend more time together, Danny learns how Steve’s injury has changed his life in many ways, but not the most important ones. As one thing leads to another, Danny realizes that things might be looking up after all.
True North by lavvyan
“Tell you what, my dad’s throwing his annual Christmas Ball on Saturday. It’s not a trip to Aspen or anything, but it is nice. Fancy food and everything. You guys should come!”
On the trail of a suspected war criminal, Steve and Danny have to go undercover at a fancy ball. The sacrifices they make for the job.
Oh, and Steve's pining like the taiga. Nothing new there.
outside the lines by withoutwords
“I’m Detective Williams.” Danny says, not trying too hard to keep it smug free. “This is my partner, Detective Mackenzie.”
Ken Doll keeps his arms up, his eyes flickering between them all as if he's only seeing police for the first time. “Good cover,” he tells Danny, and it sets Danny’s teeth on edge.
“This is the part where you say sorry for assaulting a police detective, for compromising an investigation, and for acting like a complete asshole while doing it,” Danny growls, about to change his mind and cuff the guy himself.
“Sorry, Officer.”
The bastard is still grinning.
Boys Like Me, We Try Too Hard by romanticallyinept
Steve's always wound so fucking tight.
And Danny's worried about him. Legitimately worried about him. Because maybe Steve always lays into the perps a little hard, and maybe he follows his own rules and his own morals and doesn't stop to sleep unless his body's actually shutting down around him, but usually, Steve's okay at the end of the day. Usually, Steve's not leaning against the wall of the alley they're in, eyes closed and shaking, with the perp he'd cuffed a minute earlier lying on the ground and crying about his broken nose.
Steve keeps a secret, and Danny does his best to patch him back up when it comes to light.
Transformative by boxparade
“You know, I’d heard you’d changed a lot after high school, but I’ve gotta admit, this is a little weird.”
* trans (FTM) Danny
All the Way by VictoriaAGrey
Danny has lost count of how many times he and Steve have used the sexual tension between them for undercover work, only for it to be bottled away after the op is over. With Saint Michael as his witness, that ends tonight.
Nocturne in C# Minor (featuring Stevie Ray Vaughn) by minor_demimonde
So, to recap, Danny has beautiful eyes, great shoulders, a pleasantly-shaped butt, a delectable mouth, expressive hands, and he smells good.
You know, Steve has gone to bed with women who didn’t have that much going for them.
seen it in the flight of birds by Siria
AU from the beginning of Season 2. The Five-0 task force has been reinstated, but the new governor's determined to shake things up. Facing changes and unexpected betrayals, the team has to work together to face new challenges.
It Ain’t Me Babe (Nah), It Ain’t Me You’re Looking For (Babe) by tourdefierce
A story in which Danny makes lists and can't find his heterosexuality underneath all his homogay, Steve has a lot of faces, Kono is perfect in every way and Chin continues to keep Hawaii safe from the Five-O's general disfunction—Or, a story about Kono being awesome and how she likes her men with hearts in their eyes for each other.
Ratios, Decimals, and Percentages by fuchs
In which Steve takes an internet quiz and slowly loses his mind. Danny's okay with it.
Let’s Dance Like We Used To by AndreaLyn
There isn't a world in which Danny wouldn't go after Grace. So when Rachel moves the family to California, Danny goes with. Steve gets left to process life without Danny.
Gunfire, Rainfall, and Beach Erosion by thegrrrl2002
Steve and Danny are kidnapped. After which there is too much swimming and too much rain and it's all very romantic. If you are Steve, that is.
Moving In (To Every Single Aspect of Danny’s Life, Including the Boring Bits like Dry-Cleaning by westgirl
It felt wrong for Steve to sound unsure of his place in Danny’s life. His place in Danny’s life was at Danny’s side, driving him slowly insane. Steve should feel secure about that.
Always Known What I Wanted To Be by mickeysixx
Grace Williams has always wanted to be a cop.
The Taper Phase by popfly
It’s like being run over by an armored car, like the impact of gunshot to tac vest. The pride Danny feels for his daughter and something else, something about Steve’s tank top sticking to his stomach, the way his shorts stretch across his thighs. The goofy grin that lights up Steve’s face when he sees Danny and Charlie, waving one hand while he nudges Grace with the other.
Pitching Woo by SBG
In which Danny pitches (and then accidentally catches) woo.
clue: four letters, ‘is a many splendored thing’ by armillarysphere
“Crosswords? What are you, sixty?”
“They stimulate brain activity, Danno. You ought to try it sometime.”
Steve doesn’t even look up from his newspaper, half-chewed pen resting at the corner of his mouth in an entirely too distracting way.
That’s Not Just Friendship, That’s Romance by thismuchmore
Danny and Steve start out accidentally dating each other, and it turns into something more.
it’s not what you’re sure of (it’s what you don’t know) by somehowunbroken
Art thief Steve McGarrett and his team come up against FBI Special Agent Danny Williams, and things spin wildly out of control from there.
Same Deep Water by JiM, kalena
This isn't the first lifetime Danny's been in Hawaii. When the stress ratchets up, the dreams get more and more real. Turns out Danny has some unfinished business . . . with Steve.
Warning: Ambien use may lower inhibitions in a wakeful state.
Curiosity Didn’t Kill This Cat by unadrift
"I'm confused," Rachel says. "Are you two dating or not?"
Danny sighs. "You remember that thing with the cat in the box? The one that's both dead and alive?"
"Schroedinger's cat?"
"It's kind of like that."
"Okay," Rachel says. She clearly has no idea what he's talking about.
2727 Piikoi Street by imaginary_iby
The ways in which Danny makes himself at home by Steve's side, and the family he gains as the years go by. (Featuring Steve in Timberland boots and little else, and happy goofs who like to make out against the front door).
All The Earth Awaits Thee by Portrait_of_a_Fool
Steve knows all about war and willpower, but this is still the hardest battle he’s ever had to fight.
* warning: life threatening illness, no MCD
The Vertical Challenge by AlamoGirl80
Five times Danny thinks about his height, and then realizes that being "not-tall" doesn't really suck at all.
Some Things to Think About When You Decide to Be an Asshole by sutlers
Steve gets high and tries to fuck Danny; things devolve from there.
Inked by thehoyden
Of course Steve is enjoying himself. They're bait for a serial killer who has some sort of serious hangup about tattooing loved ones' names on their skin -- of course Steve thinks this is practically like a vacation, but better, because the chances of collateral damage are higher.
This Thing Of Ours (It Needs a Better Name) by leupagus
Cosa Nostra: (kō'sə nō'strə) etym: Italian n. The branch of the Mafia operating in the United States. Literally, "our thing" or "this thing of ours."
Ho’oponopono by ember_firedrake
Groundhog Day AU. Danny finds himself trapped in the same day over and over again.
Swim for Brighter Days by zarah5
Danny kisses Steve late on a Tuesday, early on a Wednesday. Steve punches him. (Set vaguely post-finale, so spoilers for that.)
All My Guards Away by sheafrotherdon
Tag to episode 1x18, with all the heartache that implies. Now with bonus fixes. With thanks to dogeared for all her suggestions and edits.
Let’s Take it from the Top by pterawaters
Steve goes along with the bachelor-party-in-Vegas, because he chose Danny to be his best man, and that's what Danny wants to do. Unfortunately, the things that happen in Vegas don't necessarily stay there.
How to Keep Your Mouth Shut by primetime
Danny’s sometimes gay. Gay, sometimes. Does dudes. He doesn’t know how to say it right. He doesn’t know how to say it at all.
Don’t Turn Me Home Again by gyzym
After a rough day of island living, Danny wakes up in New Jersey and learns the hard way to be careful what he wishes for.
End-Around by t_fic
Steve hesitates with his hand on the doorknob, looking back over his shoulder at Danny and nodding once before disappearing inside, and yeah, Danny is going to be so fucking lucky to get through this night without a coronary event.
Lonely People Do Stupid Things by waketosleep
Danny decides to show Steve the true meaning of Christmas, and does it by dragging him to New Jersey.
Down Beneath the Waves by samjohnsson
A picture may be worth a thousand words, but sometimes it takes another thousand to explain it.
Love’s a Battlefield (and the Navy Did Not Train Steve for This Shit) by cyerus
The Kalakaua-Kelly clan are determined to matchmake Steve. Out of desperation, Steve makes up a boyfriend named Danny.
It doesn't quite go according to plan.
put your mind at ease by eleanor_lavish
Somewhere in the last year, while Steve was busy killing bad guys, Don’t Ask Don’t Tell has been erased from the books and guys like Jeff can marry whoever they damn well please.
You’ve Got Hawaii (and all I’ve got is you) by queenklu
In which Danny has issues, presents, and Steve fleas, not necessarily in that order.

NaLu Fic Recs - SFW
Sooo, there was a bit of chat on the NaLu Discord about fic recs. I have read a lot of fan fiction; for a while there I had terrible insomnia, and I would go to bed, read fics all night, and then get up and start my day.
But now you get the benefits! Here are just some of my favourite SFW fanfics. All these are completed fics on Fanfiction.net I have heaps of favourites that aren’t completed, and may never be, which is a little heartbreaking, but just the nature of the beast I guess.
But, I digress - behold, a list of SFW fanfics for your viewing pleasure...and remember, if you read, give the writer some review love.

What about Pokémon or Fairy Tale? Any good fics you can recommend?
When it comes to Pokemon I only read 2 kind of fanfics: ones based off of the Pokemon Special manga and ones that are based off of the games. I don’t read fics for the anime.
If you’re into fics based on the games then the fic I’d recommend is Touching the Sky which is about the Hoenn games and has Hoennshipping.
And Fairy Tail, hot damn you’ve come to the right place!
i hope you ship NaLu…and like oneshot collections lmaoooo
To makes things a little easier, go to my FF.net account and browse through my favorites. I have a lot. But here’s a short list of some of my favs:
A Tale Or Two – a story that has Natsu and Happy meeting Lucy and they go on an adventure where they encounter everyone else. Each adventure adapts a classic fairy tale and I eat that shit up for breakfast.
Cute Tales – oneshot collection
Dragon Guardian – updates are few and far in between BUT IT’S SO GOOD!!!
Enchanted – an AU where everyone goes to the prom and loosely adapts fairy tales (mostly the movie A Cinderella Story)
Eridanus – oneshot collection
Lucky – oneshot collection
The Warning Bells – fucking hilarious and fluffy fanfic that actually has another chapter following up the first one that made my day
Possession – classic NaLu fanfic that I feel everyone should read at least once
Tales of Fairies – massive oneshot collection that ranges from serious to crack to AU to who knows what else
The Forbidden Forest – good action/adventure NaLu fic
Where the City Ends and the Dead Ends Meet – a cop AU that I want you read because it’s interesting okay
Telling Tales -- OH THIS IS A GOOD ONE TOO I GOTTA PUT IT DOWN HERE
Much Ado -- LISANNA AND LUCY ARE FRIENDS AND I WILL FIGHT EVERYONE ABOUT IT
also hint hint nudge nudge I write FT fanfic too, just follow the link to my account above

i seen some negative comments about the latest chap but it gave me nalu feels, like major nalu feels.
Like
Idk man. I’m not the one to come to about this considering I was personally disappointed with not only this chapter but the last dozen or so. I mean sure the nalu was cute but the way the END arc was brushed aside for yet another Erza centric arc that was nauseatingly OP doesn’t sit well with me. If the arc hand been handled well I might feel differently but to have such a key issue of the demon/dragon seed plot point feel secondary to a forced and rushed side arc that was unnecessary to the continuation of the story doesn’t sit well with me as a writer.
I love nalu, but I would have rathered have a chapter that had accurate characterization, depth, and intriguing/well thought out plot than a ship moment.
TBH idk if I’m even going to keep reading the manga at this point, instead I’ll just keep to my AU’s where I know the characters I love will have the attention and characterizationI think they deserve

Obake Files
@nalu-fluff-week Nalu fluff week sept 12 adventure (AU story)
It was by no means the most idiotic idea her boyfriend has ever had, but it was certainly not one she was looking forward to either.  First of all, it was lame, I mean who even does this anymore, high schoolers that were bored, maybe even college frat boys on a dare.  Lucy thought they were beyond the foolish whims of adolescence, but this was Natsu she needed to remind herself, mister spontaneous who would jump off the cliff at South Point or still hung upside down on a jungle gym with primary schoolers.
“And where pray-tell did you plan to go ghost hunting?”
“Gray was telling me about the old hospital…”
“You mean ‘baby’s cries’?”
“Yeah!  You heard of it?”
“Who hasn’t heard the stories, supposedly you hear the sounds of babies crying or nonsense, lights from nowhere, all the typical mumbo jumbo.”
“So, you don’t believe any of it?”
“Nope.”
“Well then you won’t get scared.”  Grabbing her hands and pouting, “Please Luce?”
Sigh, “Just don’t whine to me when you see it’s nothing.”
~~xx~~
The old Hilo Memorial hospital was a relic from the days of 1892 and like many old structures, tales of paranormal events can be common.  Local residents have all heard the stories, but the most famous had to be of infants crying.  While rumors of a devastating fire still abound, there is no record of one ever taking place on the site, but if you consider the level of medical care one could receive in the early parts of the last century, one could assume that a few babies may not have survived long after birth.  In fact, one of Hawaii’s customs of celebrating a child’s first birthday is rooted in this part of olden day life.
And leave it to an idiot to want to investigate a place like that.
Of course, access to the private property would be considered trespassing since it wasn’t a fully abandoned site yet plus the real phenomena tends to happen in the later parts of or the early morning hours, neither of which sounded very thrilling for said fools, poor girlfriend.  Luckily for her, the other part of the idiot duo agreed to join them.  Frankly, if Lucy could convince Gray into helping her scare her boyfriend out of the place quickly she’d be willing to forgive him for suggesting this in the first place!
“Okay, Juvia is going to drop us off at the hospital and will be back by 1am unless we call her sooner.”
“Great 2 hours stuck here,” Lucy rolls her eyes, “I’m hoping for the sooner part.”
“Aww,” Natsu throws his arm around his girlfriend’s shoulder, “be positive Luce and have some fun with it.”
“You know I told you the story about this place, but I didn’t mean for you to want to come here.”
“Gray, don’t you know me by now?  That kind of story just screams for me to check it out!”
He rolls his eyes, “you are such an idiot, but let’s get this over with.”
With flashlights sweeping the grounds, the trio make their way through the overgrown brush into the derelict buildings.  Natsu had done some research and was pretty sure he was leading them towards the famed nursery ward where most of the ‘activity’ is supposed to take place.  It was a moonless night which made traversing the area difficult, lots of rotting equipment left behind, even the Coqui frogs seemed deafening.  To top it all off it had rained earlier in the day leaving puddles everywhere and a damp musty smell in the air, but not the wet fabric that sat a little too long, more like an organic, algae rotting along a pond scent.
“I swear to god Natsu if I step in anything nasty and ruin my sneakers you’re buying me new ones!”
“You’ll be fine Luce…” he stops and holds up an arm motioning for them to do the same, “did you guys hear that?”
“Ugh, you mean the frogs, there’s a river behind here remember?”
“Not the frogs, you guys didn’t hear the scratching sound?”
“It’s probably just a branch or something, there is a slight breeze tonight.”
“I swear it didn’t sound like that, more like something dragging across the ground or…”
“Dude you’ve been watching too many horror movies,” Gray pushes Natsu from behind, “keep going, the faster we move, the faster we get out of here.”
“Tch,” Natsu crosses his arms, “you guys are no fun.”
“We didn’t want to be here in the first place!”
“Yeah babe, I’d rather watch a horror movie than try to be In one.”
For the first hour nothing but the sounds of nature, crickets, frogs, and a few rats were the only real signs of life in this building.  Every so often Natsu would stop to investigate a window or side room, claiming to have heard a voice or more movement type sounds but his friends would just groan and roll their eyes.  Gray and Lucy didn’t hear or see anything that couldn’t be easily discounted as a critter or just his imagination running wild.
By then they had moved on from the nursery and aside for a few possible forsaken sheds, the other buildings were still in use and locked up tight for the evening.
“Let’s go Natsu, there’s nothing here.”
“But Luce,” her boyfriend whines, “something could still happen.”
“Yeah, me planting my foot on your face,” Gray retorts, “I’m friggen bored and I’d rather be hanging out with my girlfriend then be here.”
“Please Natsu, we’ve entertained your little adventure enough, wouldn’t you rather go home,” the blonde squeezes his arm hinting at other pleasures, “there’s better things we could be doing.”
“Listen to your girlfriend man and take her home…”
“Ugh, fine okay, call Juvia.”
They start walking towards the main parking lot from alongside of the building as Gray calls his girlfriend to pick them up.  There was quite a lot of brush that they needed to maneuver around, and Lucy held onto her boyfriend’s hand to keep from getting lost.  Just as they reach the corner of the structure a loud crunching sound takes them all by surprise, Lucy squeals and grips to Natsu’s hand, even Gray and Natsu flinch.
“See I told you some…”
A beam of light flashes onto the trio, “What are you kids doing here?!”  A security guard stands with one hand on his radio while the other holds a bright flashlight on them.
“N-nothing officer sir,” Natsu steps forward slightly to shield his girl, “we’re just waiting for our ride and got curious about this place.”  And just at that moment a pair of headlights enters the parking lot, “see, there’s our ride.”
The security guard turns to look at the vehicle pulling up then back to the group, “I don’t wanna see you guys traipsing around in the dark later or I’ll call the cops, now get!”
“Thank you, sir,” Lucy drags Natsu with her, followed by Gray as they sprint for Juvia’s car.  She lets out a big exhale once the doors close and they were safely strapped in.  “That was close, no more ghost hunting okay Natsu?”
“Why,” whining and leaning against her shoulder, “there are other places to explore.”
“Then you can go by yourself,” Gray snarls from the passenger seat.
“Even if there are spirits, Juvia thinks it’s better to leave them alone.”
“Good point Juvy,” Lucy pats her friend’s shoulder, “so agreed Natsu?  No more ghost hunting because I’m not doing this again.”
“I guess so, it’s no fun to go by myself,” Natsu gives Lucy a quick peck on the lips, then turns and leans forward, “you guys wanna stop at Ken’s, I’m hungry and I’ll treat.”
“Hmph, if the fools willing to pay I’m down,” Gray responds, “Juvia are you okay with that?”
“Juvia is a little hungry too.”
“Great!”  Natsu bounces in his seat, “I’m so gonna get the Sumo!”  Lucy pulls her boyfriend back to settle down, leaning against him if at least to hold him still, but he takes the hint and places his arm around her shoulder.  “I know I’m a pain sometimes but thanks for humoring me Luce.”
“You do make life more interesting,” patting his chest and chuckling, “but next time, learn to listen to your girlfriend!”

Officer Sexy
Nalu Week 2017(read all prompts)
Prompt: (last bonus day, my own) 'answer'
'Officer Sexy'
Word Count: 864
Rating: teen
Modern AU, Officer Dragneel & Journalist Heartfilia
Summary: After being mistaken for a prostitute, Lucy struggles with accepting Natsu's apology. It's not just his mistake, it's her struggle with being taken at face-value her whole life.
Lucy slammed down the phone with a terrible smile.
"Lucy? Did 'that man' call again?" Levy hid her smirk behind a stack of papers. "Aren't you going to accept his apology?"
"No." Grabbing a pen, Miss Lucy Heartfilia, journalist extraordinaire, began writing. "I need to work on this article."
"No to the apology or it wasn't Officer Sexy?"
Looking up, her pen still stabbed into her pad of paper, Lucy glared at her so-called best friend. "Stop calling him that. You'd think a cop would know better than to harass a woman."
Shaking her head and clucking her tongue, Levy stood and moved to lean against Lucy's desk. "He's been nothing but polite with his apologies. How is that harassing?"
A sour smile and an eye-roll; Lucy lifted her head higher. "Polite to you. Rude to me."
Levy nodded. "What exactly don't you like about Officer Dragneel?"
Lucy dropped her pen. "He's too good looking, jumps to conclusions and he's a distraction."
"I understand about the second point - but what's wrong with a cute guy?" Levy slouched and rested her chin in her palm. "Be honest with me, what do you want to say to him?"
"Nothing." Her shoulders tensed, Lucy sighed. "... It's too late. He must think I'm stuck-up for not accepting his apologies." Her head drooped. "I was so upset about being mistaken for a prostitute I handled everything badly."
"And that drunk loser..."
"Yeah, that didn't help either." Lucy shuffled papers on her desk. "I've been running away from my looks since puberty. People treat me like I'm nothing but an empty-headed doll and I'm sick of it!"
"Then you should talk to Officer Sexy and try again." Levy patted Lucy on the shoulder. "How about right now?"
"Officer Sexy is not going to want to take my call."
"I do, but I'm right here - and you can just call me Natsu, Officer Sexy is way too formal."
Lucy yelped and Levy burst out laughing.
Officer Dragneel walked around the cubicle and grinned at both women. "Thanks for your help Levy. Now Lucy has admitted she wants to be friends, we should go talk over coffee." He smiled wider, "And don't tell me you don't have time - Levy assured me you were free."
"I'll remember this."
"Go!" Levy giggled and thrust Lucy's purse at her. "Take a long lunch, I'll cover for you."
"Fine."
Natsu gave Levy a thumbs up as Lucy tidied her desk, waiting with a wide smile. "There's a great café near here, we can get food there too."
"Coffee is enough." Lucy glared at Levy and flounced out of the newspaper office with Natsu following behind.
Once settled at a table, Natsu and Lucy held onto their drinks like lifelines. An awkward silence blanketed them. The friendly conversations in the background made them anxious.
"Um, I want to apologise to you Miss Heartfilia." Natsu stirred his coffee, drips running down the sides of his mug. "I shouldn't have assumed you were," His voice dropped low, "a prostitute. Even though your outfit was kinda indecent, and that guy was trying to buy your services..." Natsu laid his hands flat on the table and gave Lucy a solemn look. "I'd like to make it up to you."
"I accept your apology." Lucy took a sip of her iced latte. "I'm sorry too. I'm always ready to assume people are thinking the worst of me because of my looks. And I was dressed like," Lucy craned her neck checking to see if people were paying undue attention. Her voice went soft, "a strumpet."
"Trumpet?" Natsu laughed, loud and uninhibited.
"Not a trumpet!" Lucy hissed, "A strumpet!"
"You're weird, but that's okay." Natsu smiled and pushed the plate of cookies he'd ordered to Lucy. "Imagine the 'how I met your mother' story we get to tell our kids."
Too shocked to say anything, Lucy could only stare in disbelief. Officer Sexy - make that Natsu, had the most incredible amount of chutzpah. They were barely on the path to being friends. And he was making jokes about getting married and having kids?
"Give me a chance, don't judge me by my obvious good looks - get to know me." Natsu slurped some of his coffee and let out a pleased 'ah.' He made eye contact and waited. Having stated his wants, he was content to let Lucy think.
"You're very confident, I'll give you that." Lucy took one of Natsu's cookies and broke it in half, eating half of that in one bite.
"I thought you didn't want food."
"I eat when I'm nervous!"
"Good to know, now what about us?" Natsu smiled and pushed the plate of cookies even closer to Lucy. "Wanna go out with me?"
It was a surreal moment for Lucy. Here was a guy interested in her who'd seen her at her worst. He didn't know her family background and wanted to date her without knowing anything.
"Yeah." Lucy smiled.
Natsu's answering smile blazed. "I'm not working tonight, are you? Let's go have some fun."
And Lucy's answer was yes - with many other yeses following lots of questions from Officer Sexy.
A/N:  Many thanks to each and every reader ~ this year’s nalu week was super fun.  Maybe this AU will show up in the nalulovefest if I get enough interest ^^
Tag Squad under the cut ^^

Fairy Tail: Non In-Universe Questions
Was Anna? Was Zervis planned? Was Zeref always planned to be completely evil?So @ac-fairytail posted some Fairy Tail non in-universe questions (all credit goes to her) and I figured: “Maybe I could attempt to honestly answer these questions and reverse-engineer Mashima’s thought process!” Of course, no sane person would ever attempt this, but here I am, so...
WARNING: Spoilers for the entire Fairy Tail manga.
Did Mashima base Stardresses off of Bravely Default’s Conjurerclass? Or was it Dresspheres? Or both?
Never played Bravely Default or Final Fantasy X-2 (even though they’re on my list of games to play), but if I had to guess after a quick wiki search, it would be Dresspheres. Problem is that the Stardresses are far less interesting, balanced, or explained. Oh well; Mashima trying to replicate a franchise with the writing quality of Final Fantasy is like an ant poking a dinosaur with a stick.
Was he always planning the time travel plot? If so, why did Erik refer to second gen dragon slayers as a “new” generation? There haven’t been dragons for centuries.
Considering that the “dragons vanished seven years ago” plot-point was established at the beginning of the series and further cemented by Natsu meeting Gajeel, I’m guessing he was planning to include time travel once he decided to continue the series past Tower of Heaven.
As for Erik, I’m guessing that he just declared himself as second-gen because a) he heard about Natsu and Gajeel as traditional dragon slayers from the Fairy Tail-Phantom Lord war (which caused ripples across Fiore) and assumed himself to be superior because dragon lacrima were invented after the age of dragons, and b) he never heard of Sting or Rogue.
If Irene was always planned to be Queen of the Dragons, why did he barely integrate Dragnof Kingdom into anything? And why didn’t Acno realize?
I think that once Mashima created Irene’s concept, he tried to integrate her into the stories of the Dragon King Festival, but failed to create anything even remotely interesting or new, so he just quickly scrapped together a kingdom and called it a day. Yes, it’s infuriating.
As for Acno, well...he’s Acno. He don’t give two flying fucks about anything.
Was Natsu always planned to be END? Why is there no foreshadowing for it prior to the Tartaros arc?
When Zeref mentioned that Natsu specifically couldn’t kill him back in Tenrou, he was alluding to an ability that Natsu would gain in the future to beat Zeref. However, when Mashima realized that nakama bullshit wasn’t a valid ability (yeah, he went back on that in Alvarez, whatever), he solidified this ability in the form of END around Tartaros. So yeah, I would refer to Zeref’s line in Tenrou as “shot-in-the-dark” foreshadowing.
Was Zeref always planned to be completely evil? If so, why was he established as sympathetic in his introductory arc? Was this bad writing on Mashima’s end?
See, this is what really intrigued me about Zeref in Tenrou. He was established as sympathetic, but he couldn’t remain passive because that would kill people. He was FORCED to be malicious and completely evil if he ever came into contact with people until he could find someone that could kill him because that is the nature of his curse. For him, it was better to intentionally than unintentionally kill if the person or life were to die anyway. It’s why I really fell in love with him as an antagonist.
However, what is bad writing on Mashima’s end is how completely Zeref flipped to Ruthless Big Bad in Alvarez. Him being “excited” about his battle with Natsu is inexcusably inconsistent writing, and him gaining Fairy Heart just to rewrite time for his own selfish reasons should’ve activated his Death Magic on the spot because of his optimism towards a life where he won’t kill. Plus, his loss due to nakama bullshit.
Was Zervis planned?
As much as I hate to admit it, probably. The light and dark love relationship is about as cliche as you can get, and Mashima is certainly not one to dodge cliches or subvert tropes in his writing.
Was Anna?
Hell no. However, I did think that Layla was planned. When Hades was ranting about primordial magic to Team Natsu during Tenrou, Lucy, in thought, said, “I think I’ve heard of this primordial magic somewhere. Mom?” Even though Zeref had no interest in primordial magic (as proven in him killing Hades in anger), Eclipse and the Heartfilias did. Hence, I assumed that Layla would play a huge role in the final arc of the series. Boy, was I naive and optimistic.
Was Clear Heart made so OP because Mashima knew he’d fucked up managing Requip?
No. Because fanservice. Duh. Although, I did think that Clear Heart was perfectly balanced in her fight against Azuma, with her magic power bring directly converted to her Crimson Sakura blade. Any other use just feels unnecessary.
Why did Erza never use Nakagami Armour again? Too OP?
Mashima’s reason: huge audience backlash from its magic-breaking abilities and pulled-out-of-its-ass reveal. Erza’s reason: she..doesn’t want to use it because of its magic draining properties???
Why introduce the bunny armour?
The bunny armor isn’t the armor Mashima introduced that made me mad. The Seduction Armor is. Seriously, isn’t the whole point of seducing a man to take off clothes? Does that even make it armor? At least the bunny armor is cute and cosplay-ish, which fits with Erza’s happier, more playful side we see of her outside of fights; the Seduction Armor is just flat-out nonsensical.
Why did Mashima specifically want 12 Spriggans? There was apparently a reason for this, but Mashima never revealed what it was.
Originally, he wanted six and Zeref to be the seventh member, since Mashima is obsessed with the number seven. However, I think that he wanted to get a few character concepts out before he copped out of the series, and he had too many to just have six. Thus, he probably got up to nine or ten, but then he remembered that Tartaros and Avatar had the same amount of members, so he just said “fuck it” and moved the number to twelve. This would explain why Invel and Bloodman were shoehorned in with no original magic whatsoever; Mashima just threw them in to get the number to twelve.
Were Lisanna and Loke sidelined because they were threats to NaLu, or because Mashima couldn’t be bothered writing them?
Both. The first goes without explaining. However, I have theories on why Mashima didn’t bother to write either of them.
Lisanna: Mashima’s absurd obsession with redemption arcs, nakama bullshit, and fake-out deaths prove to me that he follows by the “heroes can’t die” code of writing, something which I hope no mature, aspiring writer follows. Thus, he brought Lisanna back into the story to follow this code and thought, “Maybe I could do something with her later.” Turns out he couldn’t think of anything when he was developing each new arc. The closest we ever came to Lisanna getting in the spotlight (besides that god-awful scene from Tartaros) was when Azuma “killed” Mira. Originally, as much as I like Mira, I would’ve loved to Lisanna fill in Mira’s shoes and dedicate herself to become a stronger person because of the death of her sister. But no, Mashima didn’t have the balls to really kill Mira and the Nalu shippers were clawing at his door, so she ended up as a void of nothingness.
Loke: Once his arc was done, Mashima wanted to develop the rest of the Zodiac Spirits. Not that he really did, but he didn’t want to single out Loke too much, as much as I like Lolu. However, Loke being the key that Lucy sacrificed rather than Aquarius would have worked a lot better in the grand sense of the narrative, and would’ve really hammered in a new dimension to Lucy’s potential character arc in Alvarez. So much failed potential, Mashima. So much.
Why did Mashima skip to having Mira being fine using her Satan Souls all of a sudden in the Tenrou arc?
Because since the cause of Mira’s initial stress and reluctance has been completely retconned by the narrative, she’s perfectly able to go all out again, guys! I mean, it’s not like real-life victims of PTSD still suffer for years and years on end even with achieving social and financial success, getting married, and having children, right? RIGHT!?
Seriously, fuck Mashima.
If Key of the Starry Skies and Eclipse Celestial Spirits are canon, why weren’t they just written into the manga?
Because Mashima didn’t care enough about these arcs; A-1 just pitched the filler arcs to him and said, “this is what we’re gonna do, kay?” and he was like, “Oh, these are cool. Canon.” He couldn’t be bothered to write them because he was ready to launch into GMG and Tartaros, respectively. Also, while Eclipse Celestial Spirits works well into the show’s canon, Key of the Starry Skies doesn’t. GMG was effective in setting up the future of the series after the timeskip and NEEDED to happen right after it (doesn’t make the arc necessarily good, though). Plus, the Neo Oracion Seis feels unnecessary since they canonically are released from prison in Tartaros.
Why completely change what Wendy’s capable of in the last arc? Possession? Really?
Problem is, though, her arc was finished the moment Doranbolt saved her and Carla from Face. Her facing Sherria proved that she is willing to fight for her guild regardless of her moral issues with fighting, her going Dragon Force proved that she has gained the experience to become a tactical and efficient fighter, and her resolve to be with Carla and protect the people she loves by choosing to die when Face is about to self-destruct solidifies her developing outgoingness with the new people that she loves. As a character, her arc was concluded before Alvarez began. In my opinion, she wasn’t capable of anything more in Alvarez.
As for the possession, it’s infuriating because of the pedophilia implications, not ruining Wendy as a character. I see possession as a tool for character growth only if the possessed person is able to grow in strength and become a stronger person to overcome the weakness that allowed them to become possessed. Take Aoi Zaizen from Yu-Gi-Oh VRAINS. I really hope that her upcoming character arc will be based around the possession that corrupted her in her very first on-screen duel and how she can overcome the weakness that the Knights of Hanoi exposed from her. Wendy’s possession...did not have that potential. Once Irene left her body, Wendy went right back to her fighting as usual and didn’t seem bothered by the possession. Why? Because her arc was finished and the show was nearing its end anyway. You can be mad about that, and I won’t blame you, but any further growth from Wendy would feel redundant in my opinion.
Was he planning on doing an arc about gods?
Yep. I have a theory that Avatar was supposed to be his “god” arc, but I’ll talk more about that later.
Was it really Ankhseram that cursed Zeref?
I...guess? Mashima never introduced him as a character, but I guess he can still exist. Makes Mashima a bad writer, but it doesn’t make Ankhseram invalid.
Why bring Rogue’s shadow back as a minor plot point in Avatar? He had no intention of addressing it in Alvarez.
Okay, in Mashima’s hardly-deserved defense, Alvarez would not have been the best time to discuss Rogue’s shadow; to me, Avatar was a good point to address it because it was our first full arc with Devil Slayer Gray. To me, it makes sense that Rogue’s shadow would possess him after the dragons emerge through the Eclipse Gate and Gray would become easily corrupted by Devil Slayer Magic without his friends for support (since they’re dead in the alternate timeline, though that raises the question of does Tartaros still exist there). There was really no better time to address it.
Did he give up after Tartaros?
Well, the anime gave up after GMG, that’s for sure. For Mashima, I’d say it was in the middle of writing Avatar. I think that he was planning on fleshing out Avatar as a cult, since their existence was the whole reason that Hades formed Grimoire Heart and “awakened” Zeref’s malicious heart. In addition, since they had enough influence to convince countless wizards that Zeref could be revived with keys and/or Towers of Heaven, they would have the influence to interact with gods and God Slayers. As a writer, Mashima could’ve killed two birds with one stone and be ready to tackle Zeref’s big final arc. What probably actually happened was him waking up after a drunken tirade and realizing that his series was being more and more ridiculed for its poor writing decisions, his fanbase was becoming one of the most toxic in all of anime, and he was just running out of ideas. He questioned every life choice he ever made, decided to trash the remainder of Fairy Tail just to start over with a new work, burned through the rest of Avatar, and threw Alvarez together haphazardly just to prevent himself thinking about potential endgames any longer.
Thank you again to @ac-fairytail for these questions. The channel’s all about Fairy Tail critique, analysis, and salt; go there if you’re interested in that stuff. It really pains me to see Fairy Tail crashing and burning towards the end, but for what it was worth, I enjoyed it. It’ll be harder for me to go back and enjoy it because of my investment in much better shonen manga, such as HxH, JoJo, and YYH, but it holds a lot of memories for teenage me, and I’ll certainly treasure them.
Also thanks to Mashima for teaching me what NOT to do as a screenwriter. Helps a lot.

So it has occurred to me that my stories are hardly getting any notes which means:
I need to further my writing skills.
or,
I am not writing the correct content
Maybe both? Still working on the first one.
The Nalu stories I’m in the process of making are:
Made of Stars (T, Nalu)
Centuries ago a dragon fell in love with the princess he was made to protect. Together they were unstoppable and the two planned to get married, however a third party disagreed. The princess was killed by her closest friend who was jealous that she chose the dragon over him. Now, in present day, the reincarnations of the dragon and princess have finally met once again. Will they finally be allowed to love? Or will fate tear them apart once again?
Tunnel Girl (T, Nalu)
Nazi AU
So long as you stay in the tunnels, you will be safe.
Lucy and Happy have been living in the tunnels for six months, hidden beneath the city as Magnolia falls victim to the Holocaust. Well, if you can call a life of paranoia and starvation living. Fairy Tail isn’t doing great either, in fact, the Nazis are starving the orphanage out. They know there are Jews in there and yet Makarov refuses to give any child up. Finding out about Lucy in a chance encounter, can Natsu and Lucy work together to save Fairy Tail? Or will they all be executed for harboring Jews? (Lucy, Happy, and Natsu are Jewish)
Username: Happy (T, Nalu)
Gangster AU, Thrust in a world with bad cops and innocent prisoners, Magnolia got divided into two gangs: Sabertooth and Fairy Tail. Fairy Tail sought justice and fought for a day where people could live without fear. Sabertooth was for the corruption and made a point to torment innocent  lives and gun down anyone who tries to stop them.  Lucy is the best hacker in all of Magnolia whose  identity is only known as “Happy”, what is her role in all of this? Why is she hacking into Fairy Tail’s security? And what is the motive when Happy isn’t a member of either guild?
Canary (M for some parts, Endlu)
Lucy, Heaven’s Archangel, saves Wendy from devil hunters and ends up captured and tortured by heaven for her compassion shown to a demon. Can Wendy and her big brother Natsu save Lucy before it is to late? Or will the Angel die in the arms of her enemy? Little does Natsu know, that the angel he’s saving is his mate. How will he react when he finds out? Can a demon and angel truly fall in love? Or will heaven kill her before they have a chance? (Lucy is known as Canary in heaven because her wings are the color of gold and she often whistles when she’s focusing hard on something.)
Dark Star (T, Nalu)
The Zodiacs are an elite group of assassins who are tasked with the assassination of Wendy. Who are the Zodiacs? And if they’re such an elite group, why do they seem so reluctant?
Living Nightmare (M, Endlu and Nalu)
END has successfully taken over Natsu and has claimed Lucy as his own. Of course she has no idea that he’s END and still thinks this is Natsu. Can Natsu save her? Or will she be END’s forever?
Which one would you like to read? Please post a comment and tell me, I want to get it right this time.

Magnolia Ninety-Nine
Hey tumblr! After a whole year of not uploading anything, it is my greatest pleasure to give you my newest work! It’s hugely influenced by the famous series Brooklyn Nine-Nine as I am a huuuge fan of the show. I hope you all enjoy it!
Preview:
The night sky rumbled angrily, warning pedestrians to take cover within the safety of their homes. Natsu turned to look at the dark clouds that loomed over him, urging him to hurry home before they burst and drench him with rain water.
Pulling his duffle bag up, he picked up his pace towards the place he called home that he shared with his Russian blue cat, Happy. His condo's building was lit with the chandelier lights hanging at the lobby, alongside rows of lamps lit to a golden hue to set a classy atmosphere.
A man whose name plate read Maximo was standing behind the reception's desk. He had dark complexion which hinted at his race and a curly bush of hair stood atop his head. Maximo, as Natsu had observed, only worked during weekends early mornings, and late night weekday shifts which made him think whether the young man was still a student or merely had too many regular daytime jobs. To Natsu, the dark-skinned man was too quiet and unwelcoming to be trusted.
The condo Natsu was living at was one of his father's many units but it was placed under Natsu's name, seeing as it was his parents' graduation gift to him. It was an expensive room, one that Natsu would never be able to afford on his lifetime. The building had two elevators for convenience and he was thankful for the extra lift when two people (sometimes more) were shagging on the first one.
Natsu pressed the Up button in the elevator and spared a glance outside to see that God or whoever was up there controlling the weather was merciful enough to spare him as it started its downpour. The elevator opened to reveal two people eating each other's faces. Natsu grimaced, not having enough energy in him to hide his disdain.

Natsu exhales through his nose, heat curling through the dark cell in little wisps.

Love sucks.
11: Drive [Nalu |  CH1: First | Ongoing | Not yet posted]

11: Solstice [Nalu |  CH1: First | Ongoing | Not yet posted]
Hindsight is a bitch, Romeo is sure of that.

August being the actual son makes sense, since even if Mavis and Zeref are immortal, they are so because of the curse, so their child born un-cursed, should age normally, so being born 90-so years ago it fits that he is old, and not the young Larcade (called it, him being a demon).
Him being able to copy magic also makes sense, it explains how he could have mastered “every type” of magic. I don’t get why some people are so upset about this. It’s not a cop-out it any way, it still makes him powerful enough to be called “The King” of magic. I don’t see people propose any other way this could have been explained.
- mini-rant incoming -
And what’s the problem that Gildarts beat him? Are y’all rooting for the bad-guys or something? I really don’t get people who want Fairy Tail to lose fights, or when they complain that enemies get beat with “nakama” power. It’s been shown in the manga before that feelings determine magic.
Y’all have problems with the manga forming power-ups based on feelings, but that’s been the main driving force all along, did you just notice?
Like, right in the first arc, Natsu beats Erigor basically by getting angry. His flames keep getting bigger and bigger, because of his anger, and so he manages to suck out all of Erigor’s wind, destroying his wind barrier.. Erigor even calls it “flames of emotion”. It’s right there, anger, a feeling.
And even the curse of contradiction itself is based on feelings... the more one holds life dear, the more he will take life... I mean...
- mini-rant over -
Anyway, I’m waiting on Acnologia’s sad back story now..  You know he has one.
I mean, Irene had the idea to make dragon slayers, and she was on the side of the dragons who wanted co-existence, which means when Acnologia became a dragon slayer he was on their side too, supporting peaceful co-existence with dragons.
Now it’s known that the use of dragon slayer magic made the slayers rampage and go mad, but you just know he had to have some sort of other push too..
Also, I’m willing to bet at this point, after so many “parent”- reveals, that he’s Gajeel’s daddy, they just look pretty damn similar.
I’m also waiting for Lucy to save Natsu with her use of primordial magic (love). It’s gonna happen. <3 Don’t bother to contradict me on this one, I won’t listen. Nalu ftw.

Craigslist Creep
Pairing(s): NaLu
Characters: Lucy, Natsu, Levy
Word Count: 3157
Description: Lucy’s first time buying anything off of Craigslist... what could go wrong?
A/N: FINALLY, I am posting the story I wrote in celebration of getting 100 followers. (I’m already almost at 200 omg!) You guys decided on NaLu so here it is :) I hope you enjoy it!
A phone buzzed loudly on Lucy’s bedside table, waking her from her half sleeping state. With a quick roll to her side, she lazily pulled her phone off of the table and read the incoming message. Yes, the car is still for sale. When can we meet so you can take a look? She propped herself on her elbows and glanced at the time. The clock read 9:43 AM. She typed back a quick message. Is noon okay? A reply came in seconds. Yes. My address is 363 Fairy Tail Ln. See you then. She sat her phone back down on the bedside table and stretched her arms over her head before getting out of bed.
As she passed by her body-length mirror, her reflection showed her in a wrinkled t-shirt and shorts with a wild bird’s nest atop her head. Oh god, she thought. She wouldn’t be able to get away with some dry shampoo and mascara this morning. After a quick shower, she felt much more awake and ready for the day. She walked back into her bedroom to see her blue haired friend relaxing on her bed.
“Levy, what the hell?” She questioned her friend. This wasn’t the first time Levy had showed up unannounced. Sometimes she forgot that she didn’t actually live here as well.
“You weren’t answering your phone. I brought bagels.” Levy held up a paper bag with a smile.
Bagels. One of Lucy’s (many) weaknesses than Levy loved to capitalize on. Lucy couldn’t stay mad at her friend when food was involved. She quickly got dressed in a plain white shirt and her most trusted faded jeans. Plopping herself next to Levy, she grabbed her bagel, a wheat everything bagel with onions and chives cream cheese, and happily munched away.
“So what are you doing today? Did you ever hear back from that guy about the car?” Levy asked her between bites.
“Mhmmm. I’m actually meeting him today at noon.”
“Do you want me to go with you? I don’t like the idea of you going to some stranger’s house to look at a car. Have you seen Craigslist Killer? It could happen to you.” Lucy smiled at her friend’s concern. She also had her own worries about buying a car from craigslist, but it was much more cost effective than going to a dealership.
“Don’t worry, Lev. I’ll bring my trusty pepper spray. Plus we are meeting in broad daylight. I’ll be fine.” She flashed a sincere smile at her.
Levy didn’t seem convinced but she dropped the subject anyways. Her small friend was fiercely protective of her like an agitated yorkie barking at the doorbell. Adorable and full of spunk, Lucy appreciated every ounce of her. She could count on her to call 911 if she didn’t come back in a decent amount of time.
After a good hour was spent practicing self-defense moves, Levy bid her farewell. She made it clear that if Lucy didn’t contact her in the next hour, she’d go down there with her scary looking boyfriend and beat up the craigslist creep herself. Lucy couldn’t help but laugh to herself. She truly had the greatest friends.
With a quick glance at the clock. Lucy grabbed her light, maroon windbreaker and headed out the door. Luckily, this guy didn’t live too far from her so she could walk over there. She didn’t think her bike would have fit in the small car he had for sale. The fact that she had found the car, which looked to be in excellent condition from the pictures, for such a steal of a price was amazing. When she had asked why he was selling it for so low he told her it was because he had no use for it anymore and wanted to sell it quickly. She had no complaints, that’s for sure.
She’d been on the hunt for a new car for months now since her old one had died and gone to car heaven. It was going to cost her the price of a newer car to fix the old one so she said her peace to the old car and started her search. Much to her surprise, trying to buy a car from craigslist wasn’t easy. Craigslist was a dog eat dog world that she wasn’t familiar with, so when she found this car it felt like a message from the celestial king himself.
It didn’t take long for Lucy to arrive at her destination. She didn’t realize how nice of a neighborhood this guy lived in until she turned down his street. She knew about this fancy neighborhood but she didn’t connect the dots when he texted her his address this morning. No wonder he was selling the car so cheaply, apparently money wasn’t an issue. Every single house on the block made her apartment building look small in comparison. Even the grass looked greener over here and the air seemed clearer.
As she approached the address, a guy with bright pink hair caught her attention. He was sitting on the hood of the same car she’d seen in pictures on craigslist. Was this the guy, she wondered to herself. The pink hair threw her off. She imagined him looking a bit more… professional. At the sound of her approaching, he looked up from his phone and flashed her a smile.
“Hi, I’m here to check out the car,” Lucy said unconfidently. His onyx eyes fixated on her face. He didn’t reply for a moment and just stared. It was starting to make her uncomfortable. Why was he staring like that?
“Oh, right. Yeah. Take a look.” He cleared his throat and hopped off the hood of the car onto the sidewalk.
Lucy walked around the car, looking for any cosmetic issues. She wasn’t quite sure what to look for but she figured if anything was wrong, she’d be able to tell. When she didn’t find anything wrong, she opened the driver’s side door and slid in. She could feel the guy’s watchful gaze on her through the window. She didn’t know what his problem was. It’s not the first time a guy has had a staring problem, but they usually don’t do it so obviously.
“I charged the battery so it should start right up if you wanna give it a try. Keys are in the ignition.” The guy told her.
She turned the keys, and like he said, it started right up. She waited for a moment, trying to listen to any strange noises to start. She half expected the low whine her previous car was known for. The engine purred like a content kitten. After a few minutes, she killed the engine and got out of the car. The car was perfect. It still seemed too good to be true, but she wasn’t going to let this opportunity slip through her fingers.
“I’ll take it.” She told the man. She dug around in her bag for the envelope of money she had withdrawn from the bank the day before. Saving up for the car had been easy with how long it took her to actually find it. He gratefully took the envelope and briefly leafed through the cash.
“It’s all there.” She assured him.
“I’m not worried. Glad to do business with you.” He shifted awkwardly like there was more he wanted to say.
Lucy hesitated a moment before getting in the car. She felt inclined to hear what he had to say, especially if it had something to do with the car. The vibe he was putting out there was tough to read, but she could tell he had something on his mind. Just as she was about to step in the car she heard him speak up.
“So, I was, uh, wondering if you wanted to go grab some food or something?” It looked like it pained him to even speak the words.
His sudden question caught her off guard and without thinking twice, she turned him down. She quickly got into the car and shut the door, starting the car desperate to flee the awkward situation. She took off down the road not daring to look in the rearview mirror.
The uneasy feeling that had settled in the bottom of her stomach didn’t dissipate until she’d driven a few blocks. It was then replaced with guilt. Maybe she had been too harsh to turn him down so bluntly. He was actually kind of cute, despite the staring problem. But it was too late now. Her pride wouldn’t allow her to go back there with her tail between her legs.
A honk coming from the car next to her startled her out of her thoughts. She turned to see a brunette girl motioning for her to roll down her window.
“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it looks like all of your tires are flat. It’s not good to drive around like that.” The stranger called to her once she rolled her window down. Lucy waved her thanks and pulled the car into the closest parking lot.
Tears pricked her eyes as she stepped out of the car to view the tires. All four of them were flat. She couldn’t believe it. She’d been right about it being too good to be true. Anger started to wash over her as she thought about the situation. How dare he sell her a car in this condition! With shaky hands, she pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed his number. Her frustration grew with each unanswered ring, peaking when his voicemail picked up.
“I am calling the cops! You’re creepy and a thief!” She shouted into her phone before hanging up, wishing she still had a flip phone that she could close dramatically. She got back into the car and slammed the door shut. She let a long scream escape her lips and rested her head against the steering wheel. The tears that had been threatening to fall were no longer holding back. What had she done to deserve this?
Her phone started to vibrate on the seat next to her and she snatched it up and took a deep breath before hitting answer.
“Please don’t call the police!” The pink haired thief pleaded into the phone.
“Why shouldn’t I? All of the tires are flat. Flat! You sold me a car that is useless!” She yelled into the phone.
“Shit. Really? Where are you?” He replied.
“Like I”m going to tell a thief like you!” She retorted.
“Hey! Chill out. I want to help. Tell me where you are and I’ll call a tow truck. We’ll go down to the tire shop and I’ll pay for a new set of tires.”
Lucy bit her tongue. She didn’t expect him to actually offer to help. Apparently, most people on craigslist are crooks, according to Levy anyways, and she had expected the worst when he didn’t answer her call. She told him her location and waited for the tow truck to arrive.
By the time the pink haired punk showed up, Lucy had calmed down. Well, she was still frustrated at the situation but she was no longer directing it at him. He did just offer to pay for a full set of new tires. Maybe he wasn’t a thief… but the creepy comment still stood until proven otherwise.
His knock on her driver’s side window made her jump in surprise. He had wasted no time getting there. It looked like he ran the whole way by the way he was trying to catch his breath. When her own heart rate slowed back down from the shock, she stepped out of the car and took a seat on the hood.
“Why the hell are all of the tires flat? You said it was in excellent condition!” She snapped at him, letting her frustration seep through her words.
He shrugged his shoulders, “I mean it had been sitting there for months. I do apologize for this. I didn’t even think about the tires.” His eyes were sincere causing Lucy’s frustration to lose some steam.
“Well, as long as it gets fixed by the end of the day, it’s fine.” She replied while crossing her arms in front of her. An exasperated sigh left her lips. She should’ve been home by now, cozied up with the new book she just borrowed from Levy.
“Don’t worry, this creep will have it all taken care of.” Lucy scowled at his comment. He was smirking at her, proud of himself for calling her out. If she could just melt into the car right now, she would. Oh, how she despised how easily she found herself in awkward situations.
“I’m… sorry for calling you creepy.” She mumbled, not meeting his eyes.
He took a step closer to her and cupped a hand over his ear. “What was that?” He asked her with false sweetness.
“I’m sorry for calling you creepy!” She repeated herself loudly. She met his eyes this time and felt her face flush red at the eye contact. He was wearing a playful smile as he held her gaze, daring her to look away.
“I’m Natsu, by the way.” He said without breaking their eye contact. His eyes were so dark, Lucy could feel herself getting lost in them. She hadn’t noticed how much depth his eyes had before. It was like she was looking into two bottomless pools full of hidden emotion.
“Lucy…” She trailed off. She knew she’d been staring for too long, but she was too captivated to care. Who had the staring problem now?
A loud honk broke the two of them out of their trance and they turned to see the tow truck pulling up next to the car. Lucy’s heart was racing and she wasn’t sure if it was because of the honk or that onyx star. At this point, she wasn’t sure which she wanted it to be.
Luckily, Natsu did all of the talking with the towing company so Lucy didn’t have to do much explaining. She admired how professionally he handled it, knowing she would’ve been a mess if she had to do it on her own. Lucy and stressful situations were not a good mix and almost always ended in tears.
The ride to the tire shop was quiet. Natsu had been gentleman enough to offer her the window spot, sparing her the torture of riding between him and a complete stranger (not that Natsu was any better.) However, the truck’s cab was small with barely enough room for the three of them. Lucy was acutely aware of how close Natsu was sitting next to her. It felt like every inch of her skin was overly sensitive, over analyzing every movement he made. She wasn’t sure she breathed until they arrived at the tire shop.
The shop was busy when they arrived. Natsu went up to the front desk while Lucy searched for a place to sit. She found a tiny table tucked behind a stack of tired and claimed it. Just as she relaxed into the metal chair, her phone started vibrating in her pocket. A gasp escaped her lips when she realized who it was.
“Levy! I’m okay! I’m sorry I didn’t call. Some things happened but I’m okay.” She attempted to calm down her fireball of a friend.
“What do you mean something happened?!” Lucy had to hold her phone from her ear to avoid damage to her ear drum.
“Well, I bought the car, right? And when I was on my way home, someone stopped me and told me my tires were flat--”
“WHAT, WHY THAT LITTLE--”
“It’s okay! Natsu called a tow truck and we’re at the tire place getting new tires put on now. He’s even paying for them. You told me everyone from craigslist is a crook, but Natsu’s actually a good guy.” She smiled at Natsu who was still standing at the front desk messing with the popcorn machine.
“Natsu? Do you need me to come pick you up? I can bring Gajeel!” She laughed at her friend’s antics.
“No… I’ll be okay.” Lucy watched Natsu as he walked towards her with a content smile on her face. “I gotta go, Lev! I’ll call you when I get home.”
“Lucy, wait--” She hung up before Levy could finish. She’d understand.
Natsu slid into the chair across from her and placed a bag of popcorn on the table. He spun the opening in her direction.
“It’s complimentary. And also… a few hours old.” He crinkled his nose as he popped some stale popcorn in his mouth, eliciting a giggle from Lucy.  His eyes lit up at the sound.
“It’ll be at least thirty minutes before they get to the car.” Lucy nodded in reply and grabbed a handful of popcorn. She surveyed the area, taking in the sight of the other people also waiting for their cars.
Natsu leaned in towards her like he had a secret to tell. When he had her attention, he motioned to a couple across the shop with his eyes.
“Long time married couple. They’re in here before he promised he’d fix it and six months later, it breaks down on their way to the grocery store and here they are. Turns out he didn’t fix it at all.” He whispered across the table to her.
A sly smile crept onto her face when she realized what he was doing. She took another look at the crowd and her smile grew as she motioned towards a woman across the way.
“Mother of three, all under the age of 6. She uses this time to escape the kids and leave them with dad. She chooses this errand because of how long it takes. The dad is none the wiser.” She ended with a giggle.
They continued with that until everyone in the shop had their own backstory fabricated, even the shop employees. No one was safe when they walked through those doors. By the time the car was ready, the two of them were dying of laughter, earning looks from everyone in the room. Lucy was surprised by how quickly the time passed when they were interrupted by an employee with the keys. She was almost certain they had worked on her car quicker just to get them out of there. A permanent smile was plastered on her face as the two of them walked towards the car. She hadn’t laughed that hard in a while.
“Hey.” Natsu paused by the front of the car.
“Yeah?” She hesitated next to him.
“Wanna go grab some food or something? Not like a date or anything, I mean unless you want it to be.” He asked nervously, keeping his eyes on his shoes.
Lucy didn’t hesitate to answer this time.
“Sure. I’d love that.”
