Officer Sexy
Nalu Week 2017(read all prompts)
Prompt: (last bonus day, my own) 'answer'
'Officer Sexy'
Word Count: 864
Rating: teen
Modern AU, Officer Dragneel & Journalist Heartfilia
Summary: After being mistaken for a prostitute, Lucy struggles with accepting Natsu's apology. It's not just his mistake, it's her struggle with being taken at face-value her whole life.
Lucy slammed down the phone with a terrible smile.
"Lucy? Did 'that man' call again?" Levy hid her smirk behind a stack of papers. "Aren't you going to accept his apology?"
"No." Grabbing a pen, Miss Lucy Heartfilia, journalist extraordinaire, began writing. "I need to work on this article."
"No to the apology or it wasn't Officer Sexy?"
Looking up, her pen still stabbed into her pad of paper, Lucy glared at her so-called best friend. "Stop calling him that. You'd think a cop would know better than to harass a woman."
Shaking her head and clucking her tongue, Levy stood and moved to lean against Lucy's desk. "He's been nothing but polite with his apologies. How is that harassing?"
A sour smile and an eye-roll; Lucy lifted her head higher. "Polite to you. Rude to me."
Levy nodded. "What exactly don't you like about Officer Dragneel?"
Lucy dropped her pen. "He's too good looking, jumps to conclusions and he's a distraction."
"I understand about the second point - but what's wrong with a cute guy?" Levy slouched and rested her chin in her palm. "Be honest with me, what do you want to say to him?"
"Nothing." Her shoulders tensed, Lucy sighed. "... It's too late. He must think I'm stuck-up for not accepting his apologies." Her head drooped. "I was so upset about being mistaken for a prostitute I handled everything badly."
"And that drunk loser..."
"Yeah, that didn't help either." Lucy shuffled papers on her desk. "I've been running away from my looks since puberty. People treat me like I'm nothing but an empty-headed doll and I'm sick of it!"
"Then you should talk to Officer Sexy and try again." Levy patted Lucy on the shoulder. "How about right now?"
"Officer Sexy is not going to want to take my call."
"I do, but I'm right here - and you can just call me Natsu, Officer Sexy is way too formal."
Lucy yelped and Levy burst out laughing.
Officer Dragneel walked around the cubicle and grinned at both women. "Thanks for your help Levy. Now Lucy has admitted she wants to be friends, we should go talk over coffee." He smiled wider, "And don't tell me you don't have time - Levy assured me you were free."
"I'll remember this."
"Go!" Levy giggled and thrust Lucy's purse at her. "Take a long lunch, I'll cover for you."
"Fine."
Natsu gave Levy a thumbs up as Lucy tidied her desk, waiting with a wide smile. "There's a great café near here, we can get food there too."
"Coffee is enough." Lucy glared at Levy and flounced out of the newspaper office with Natsu following behind.
Once settled at a table, Natsu and Lucy held onto their drinks like lifelines. An awkward silence blanketed them. The friendly conversations in the background made them anxious.
"Um, I want to apologise to you Miss Heartfilia." Natsu stirred his coffee, drips running down the sides of his mug. "I shouldn't have assumed you were," His voice dropped low, "a prostitute. Even though your outfit was kinda indecent, and that guy was trying to buy your services..." Natsu laid his hands flat on the table and gave Lucy a solemn look. "I'd like to make it up to you."
"I accept your apology." Lucy took a sip of her iced latte. "I'm sorry too. I'm always ready to assume people are thinking the worst of me because of my looks. And I was dressed like," Lucy craned her neck checking to see if people were paying undue attention. Her voice went soft, "a strumpet."
"Trumpet?" Natsu laughed, loud and uninhibited.
"Not a trumpet!" Lucy hissed, "A strumpet!"
"You're weird, but that's okay." Natsu smiled and pushed the plate of cookies he'd ordered to Lucy. "Imagine the 'how I met your mother' story we get to tell our kids."
Too shocked to say anything, Lucy could only stare in disbelief. Officer Sexy - make that Natsu, had the most incredible amount of chutzpah. They were barely on the path to being friends. And he was making jokes about getting married and having kids?
"Give me a chance, don't judge me by my obvious good looks - get to know me." Natsu slurped some of his coffee and let out a pleased 'ah.' He made eye contact and waited. Having stated his wants, he was content to let Lucy think.
"You're very confident, I'll give you that." Lucy took one of Natsu's cookies and broke it in half, eating half of that in one bite.
"I thought you didn't want food."
"I eat when I'm nervous!"
"Good to know, now what about us?" Natsu smiled and pushed the plate of cookies even closer to Lucy. "Wanna go out with me?"
It was a surreal moment for Lucy. Here was a guy interested in her who'd seen her at her worst. He didn't know her family background and wanted to date her without knowing anything.
"Yeah." Lucy smiled.
Natsu's answering smile blazed. "I'm not working tonight, are you? Let's go have some fun."
And Lucy's answer was yes - with many other yeses following lots of questions from Officer Sexy.
A/N: Many thanks to each and every reader ~ this year’s nalu week was super fun. Maybe this AU will show up in the nalulovefest if I get enough interest ^^

Nalu Week 2017 Day 5: He Sees Beneath Her Mask
A/Note: I wasn't able to write as much as I wanted for NaluWeek2017, but here is my third story, using the prompt for Day 5: Mask Day
The story is set in a kind of early 90s university AU, but the concepts and characters are mostly canon. I hope you enjoy it!
Words ~ 2300 | Also available now on FFN and AO3 (Impracticaldemon)
He Sees Beneath Her Mask Prompt: Mask Day
Lucy's first day of university was unremarkable—at least, it was unremarkable if you were the sole heiress to the Heartfilia fortune and used to your father being far more concerned than you were about outward appearances. In the midst of rushing walkers and bikers of all descriptions, Lucy was ushered onto the sidewalk in front of the registration building by the reliable, middle-aged chauffeur whom she'd known for years. While the majority of the students around her wore t-shirts of all descriptions paired with "lived-in" looking jeans, Lucy looked trim and demure in a crisp white blouse, perfectly-tailored navy capris, and pretty, matching sandals. She had the kind of accessories that didn't need a logo to tell you that they were expensive.
Her father didn't get out—he was already taking time out of his busy day to ensure that Lucy arrived on time and in proper style—but he did roll down his window and briefly clasp Lucy's hand. His words of farewell were more admonishing than encouraging, however:
"I'm still not sure about this place, Lucy, so remember our bargain: you can go here as long as you don't let yourself get dragged into any trouble by some of the weirder types you sometimes seem to hang out with—and as long as you meet your social obligations for the family and the company."
"Yes, Father. I understand. And I haven't forgotten next week's charity ball on Thursday evening." Lucy's serious, deep brown eyes stayed focused on her father, despite the stares she could feel from her soon-to-be classmates, especially the girls—women, she corrected herself silently.
Jude Heartfilia accepted Lucy's assurances, cast a last, scathing look at the chattering, excited students, and waved the chauffeur back to the car. He managed a tight, unconvincing smile for his daughter, and then put up his window and leaned back in his seat, a big, shadowy figure behind the tinted glass. Lucy's smile in return was more convincing and yet somehow also sad. She watched the big car glide away, and as soon as it had disappeared around a corner she sighed, squared her shoulders, and turned to hurry toward the registration area. Unfortunately, she stepped right into somebody's path—although 'trajectory' might have been a more accurate word.
"Ow! Sorry!" Only long years of dance and gymnastics kept Lucy upright.
"Hey—look where you're going!" cried the human missile, as he spun around with Lucy in a rather tight, although apparently unintended embrace. He was more agile than he seemed, though; he didn't stagger as they parted, and his hand under her elbow helped her own efforts at balance.
Not surprisingly, they eyed each other curiously once the world stopped spinning. The human missile was actually a young man of medium height and decidedly athletic build, with spiky, cotton-candy pink hair, dark grey-green eyes, and a dusting of freckles. Lucy saw the dark eyes widen slightly as he examined her in turn. The clothes and shoes and so on were bad enough, she thought, but anybody would stare at her up-swept golden hair, which had been formed into a perfect chignon at the back. It was very pretty—and made her look like a 1940s actress at an evening party rather than a regular university student of many, many decades later.
"Are you going in to register?" Lucy asked, determined to be friendly and polite.
"Huh? Oh, yeah—I think so?" The pink-haired guy ran a hand through his spiky locks and then grinned cheerfully. "I mean yeah, yeah I am! That's a pretty good hairstyle—is it a new thing? I'll bet you could hide notes and weapons and stuff in it!"
From behind Pink-and-Spiky, a slightly taller, leaner man muttered something that sounded suspiciously like "idiot". Lucy realized that she hadn't even noticed the second man, and then flushed slightly when she realized that he was wearing cargo pants belted loose over boxers and not much else. He was a bit less odd than Pinky—Lucy had a tendency to first give and then refine nicknames—but he also seemed slightly dangerous. Maybe it was the stylized bird tattoo on the right side of his chest, or his very dark eyes and hair. If I wrote these two into a story, he'd be Emo-Guy for sure. I'll bet he broods well. And Pinky would be Leaps-Before-Looking-Guy or Runs-Into-Trouble-But-Likes-It-Guy. They're both pretty attractive though.
"I can hear you, you know," Pinky said to Dark-and-Tattooed. Lucy jumped slightly: for a moment she'd thought he'd heard what she was thinking.
"I wouldn't bother to call you an idiot if you couldn't hear me," retorted D-and-T. He held out a hand to Lucy, and gave her a small, but apparently genuine smile. "I'm Gray. Flamebrain here is Natsu. We're in second year, but our friend Erza asked us to help out with registration—she runs the welcome table where you pick up your registration kits."
Gray's handshake was firm and literally cool, despite the warm sun. He was immediately elbowed out of the way by Pinky/Natsu. "Yeah, it gets us out of this afternoon's mega-line-ups with the general upper-year registration crowd," he told her. "Can't wait until everything's completely automated."
"Like that'll help you," scoffed Gray. "You're still in trouble for trying to hit a campus computer last year because it said your code had errors. Good thing Erza was there to stop you."
Lucy jumped in before things could escalate.
"Oh… Well, um, I'm Lucy—nice to meet you. Both of you." Natsu's hand was dry and calloused, without a hint of sweat. In fact, he seemed impervious to the heat, although wearing a white Fairy Tail U scarf wound loosely around his neck seemed excessive. Sometimes Lucy thought it was her fate to meet the strangest people at any given location. Then again, she was okay with that.
After a few more courtesies (cut short by Natsu "accidentally" stepping on Gray's foot) and a few more discourtesies (cut short by Lucy with the tact of one forced young into the cut-throat politics of charitable fund-raising), the three of them went in. Erza turned out to be a rather frighteningly helpful third year with honest-to-goodness red (not orange or auburn) hair. These people apparently spent a fortune on hair dye. Lucy had meant to change as soon as her father had left, and before talking to anyone, but fate and Natsu had conspired against her. One look at Erza's face told Lucy that she'd been recognized. The upper-year didn't say anything though; instead, she made Lucy's day by handing over her registration package without calling out her last name.
"Is-is there a washroom nearby?" Lucy asked, heartened by this kindness.
Erza was getting both guys set up with registration packages (and smacking them upside the head for hitting each other, which Lucy found slightly counter-productive as an example of good behaviour). She nodded at a doorway and said: "Down that hall, first door on the right.
When Lucy slipped back into the room several minutes later, she went quietly to the back of the registration line without speaking further with the upper-years. After all, Gray, Natsu and Erza were obviously friends of long-standing. In fact, Lucy had already realized that Erza was a well-known student leader and a competitive athlete of national standing—she should have recognized the name sooner. That probably meant that Gray and Natsu were just as important within the school community. Lucy didn't want it to seem as though she was presuming upon her chance encounter with Natsu earlier. He'd seemed very nice, though; she hoped that maybe she could find a way to get to know him better by proving herself as an up-and-coming Fairy Tail student. There was something about Natsu's grin that somehow stood out even more than the pink hair.
Lucy drew no attention at all as she patiently waited her turn, clutching at the key forms from her registration package. She was now wearing slightly worn cut-offs, a cute, rose-pink t-shirt, and the current popular choice in (cheap) canvas running shoes. The bracelet on one wrist was pretty, but not expensive. She had also managed to extract all hundred or so bobby pins from her hair (only a minor exaggeration!). After a moment's thought, she had decided to put most of her hair into twin-tails in order to beat the heat; she left her long bangs and a few other locks to frame her face, in order to escape from her overly-sophisticated "matchy-matchy girl" appearance of earlier.
When somebody jostled her slightly—clearly by accident—she decided to try out her new-found anonymity. She turned and smiled brightly.
"Kind of brutal in here isn't it?" she said to the pretty, dark-haired girl—woman—behind her.
"Yeah, seriously."
They exchanged the conspiratorial grimaces of strangers commiserating over shared misfortune.
"I'm Lucy—I'm taking English with a focus on creative writing."
"Oh hey—me too! I'm Evelyn. Nice to meet you, Lucy! Sorry about bumping you—gotta admit, I was admiring your bag. It looks like it won't fall apart like my 'student special' here."
"Well, um, yeah… it was a present from my… dad. He believes in practical gifts and things that keep their value and functionality." Ev laughed and Lucy relaxed. Switching clothes was one thing, but the expensive leather schoolbag was actually something she'd chosen and liked, even though she realized most normal students couldn't afford it.
Lucy wasn't used to referring to her father as "dad"; she have to work on that (though not with the man himself). And technically he had bought the bag for her. Her mother's estate provided her with a moderate allowance, but since her father had either inherited or managed the bulk of Layla Heartfilia's money and business interests, he paid for all of Lucy's living expenses. In a bid to retain as much independence as possible, Lucy had learned how to make her allowance stretch without being too obvious, which provided her with less expensive, more normal clothes and paid for the occasional unsupervised outing.
She had only been chatting with her new friend for a few minutes when she spotted a familiar head of pink hair weaving through the crowd toward them. Her first thought was that it was a coincidence, since she now looked very different—and why would Natsu be looking for her anyway? Once or twice she saw Natsu pause for a moment and wrinkle his nose, as if to sneeze, but otherwise nothing interrupted his brisk stride directly to where she was standing (well, there were people in the way, but most of them moved as he approached).
"Hey Lucy! You didn't come back to the table! We could've helped you register you know… Oh, is this a friend of yours?" Natsu didn't even seem to notice that Lucy looked entirely different now. Or if he did he didn't comment.
Somehow—Lucy couldn't quite fathom it—Natsu convinced her to leave the line (she'd already traded numbers with Ev) and come back to the table for registration packages. Partway there, he slowed down a little and started to frown.
"Lucy? Did you change something? Erza said you'd probably gone to put on your mask—or take off your mask, I can't remember which. You seem pretty much the same to me." He came to a full stop right in the middle of the room and squinted at Lucy. Then he started to walk around her, checking her out from all angles. "Heh. Well, it's good to see Erza wrong for once! And Gray backed her up, too! This'll be great!"
"Wait! Natsu!" Lucy tried to pull away, but her escort seemed very determined.
When they arrived, Natsu slung his arm around Lucy's shoulders. "See Erza! No masks! I don't know how she slipped by Gray! You going blind or something, bro?"
Lucy found herself turning a little red. Natsu's arm was heavy and warm, but also comforting and even pleasant, despite the sticky weather. Erza gave her a sympathetic smile; Gray, busy a couple of feet away, rolled his eyes and muttered something that only Natsu heard. He was wearing a t-shirt now, which struck Lucy as more appropriate.
"Natsu," Erza said at last. "Lucy has changed every article of clothing and her shoes and hairstyle."
"What? You did?!" Natsu held Lucy out at arm's length. "What did you do that for? We might not have found you again!" He paused, and then peered closely at Lucy. "You know… I think you're right Erza. Lucy! You messed up your hair! I'll bet that's why you had to change. You shouldn't worry about us, though. We don't mind if you want to dress like a stuck up rich girl—right Gray? Erza?"
"I refuse to be associated with that statement," muttered Gray.
"Natsu…" Erza sounded deeply chagrined.
"Besides, it doesn't matter. Lucy can change her clothes as often as she wants—or even put on that mask you were talking about, Erza! I'll always know it's her!"
Natsu sounded so certain that Lucy wasn't inclined to disagree. She still didn't know him very well, but that didn't seem to matter. When he grinned at her, she grinned back. How odd to think that there might be people who didn't care about masks, when she'd lived with them all her life. Her heart seemed to thump just a little harder against her rib cage at the thought and she didn't object when Natsu gave her another one-armed hug before getting back to his job for Erza.
Epilogue
Lucy didn't find out how Natsu could always track her down until several days later, at which point her vision of the power of love (or something like it) suffered a severe check. Erza kept avoiding the subject, but Gray answered her question directly, once she thought to ask him. It turned out that Natsu had a ridiculously good sense of smell.
"He… he smelled me?" Lucy demanded. "I smell?!"
Gray tried to reassure her, but she found herself putting on extra layers of deodorant for quite a while after that. Eventually, Natsu complained that she smelled like a chemical factory, and Lucy delivered a rather incomprehensible rant. Erza led her away murmuring that strawberry cream cake would help.
Eventually—after Lucy had been pacified by cake—Erza said thoughtfully:
"I think that you are losing sight of something important, Lucy."
"Oh." (sniff)
"I agree that Natsu could track down almost anyone, because of his sense of smell. But you are the one he chose to find."

fairy tail, natsu pov
nalu week 2017 - day 6 - tattoo
~
it flashes before his mind’s eye, the memory of her smiling face when she first got her fairy tail mark, the pink tattoo bright on the back of her hand. he remembers how happy she was about it, and how he had pretended to not give a damn.
he sees it now, on the lucy he’s known for months (years, but not really), her hand trembling and she’s trying the staunch the blood of the lucy from the future.
the lucy who’s lost her right arm, who’s lost her guild mark along with her guild, the lucy who’s went through more pain than he can even imagine.
the lucy who’s dying. because he failed to protect her. because one asshole decided she needed to die for a future that will never happen.
his own mark feels like it’s burning on his shoulder. or maybe that’s just his imagination, because he’s burning hotter than ever, white-hot rage, fuelled by the agony of seeing her laying there helpless, markless, bleeding and fading.
the reverent way she touches his lucy’s mark, a sad, pained smile on her lips, makes his breath hitch in his chest, up his throat, and he feels the tears prickling at the corners of his eyes.
and then she goes limp, her heart stuttering and then stopping altogether, and the last shreds of his fraying self-control snap.
because lucy is dead (even if it’s not his lucy, it’s still lucy).
and he needs to tear to shreds and burn to ashes the one who took away her future.

Encouragement, Through Play
Title: Encouragement, Through Play Series: Fairy Tail Pairing: Natsu/Lucy @nalu-week 2017 Prompt: Video Games (bonus) Rated: K+ Word Count: 1,273 words Additional Notes: This is based on a scene I wanted to write for my upcoming sports drama fic, Center Ice. However, I’m pretty confident that what you see in this story, will probably be in the actual fanfic as well. Also, this is set in a modern AU, with all that mentioned.
Settling herself down onto his sofa, Lucy kept an eye on Natsu, as he headed into the kitchen. A few clinking noises emerged from that room, followed by the sound of water being poured into a cup, and then into another. The young, pink-haired male emerged from the kitchen, holding two porcelain cups filled with water. He offered one of them to Lucy.
“Thanks, Natsu,” she quietly expressed her gratitude, taking a small sip from her cup.
“Anytime, Lucy,” he smiled slightly at her, before turning on both the T.V., and the PlayStation 4 that was situated below. “You want something to eat, as well?”
Lucy politely declined his offer, placing her cup onto the coffee table. “Thanks, but I’m fine right now.”
Her lips then creased into a small frown, as she focused on him. While Natsu retrieved the disc for the favourite video game he usually liked to play, Lucy couldn’t help but feel like she wanted to bring up the issues that arose with him, following his concussion diagnosis, from a few weeks earlier. Just seeing him struggle a lot—playing in the Fairies’ D-league team—a short while after his diagnosis, had seriously concerned her. It made her want to do something...something for him, for once.
Loading the disc into the PS4, Natsu settled himself down on the sofa, beside the blonde girl. Lucy glared at him, while he selected the video game he wanted to play, off from the console’s main menu.
“Natsu,” she quietly murmured, enough to bring the one she cared more about, to pay attention to her. “Can I...have a word with you?”
Taking his eyes off from the large screen in front of him, Natsu turned to directly face the blonde sitting beside. “Sure.” He raised his eyebrows. “What is it, Lucy?”
Her head bowed, and her eyes fell in the same direction. “Oh, it’s nothing.” She then slowly brought her irises up to his own. “I just...wanted to talk to you about what happened, in those last few days.”
Natsu frowned, and gave a dejected murmur, his eyes shifting away from hers. His attention then came back to the big-screen T.V., as it flashed the start screen of NHL 17, prompting him to press the corresponding start button on his DualShock 4. Going through the main menu, Natsu set himself up for a quick game, using the same rules that would apply in the actual NHL, and the pro-league he played for. Once on the gamepad selection screen, Natsu handed a spare DS4 to Lucy beside him.
“You wanna play, too?”
Lucy looked down at the second gamepad he offered her, for a moment, before she lifted her focus up to his eyes. “Uh...okay, I guess,” she accepted, gently taking the controller from him. “But, will you actually listen to me, when I’m talking to you?”
“Yeah,” Natsu nodded shortly. “I’ll try my best.”
Starting the match within the game, Natsu controlled the players on the Magnolia Fairies team, while Lucy controlled the players on Fiore’s national hockey team. Both of them began to battle against each other, on the big screen, as the first period commenced. Sounds of grunts, harsh crunches, and simulated crowd noises, had poured out of the T.V.’s speakers.
Lucy turned to him, while he maintained his best to focus on the screen. “Look, Natsu,” she spoke up, “I know how you’ve felt, after what went down in those games.”
Natsu tried to focus on the game, mashing at the buttons and sticks on his gamepad, at once. At the same time, however, he can definitely hear what she had to say to him.
“I understand what you’ve been going through,” she continued, “and it’s downright terrible—I get that.”
The pink-haired male sighed deeply, starting to become more frustrated at himself. He could feel the heat, and tension building up all over his body, again.
“But, what I really want to say,” Lucy revealed, in her more serious tone of voice, “is that you can’t keep being angry at yourself, just because you aren’t able to do well, as you have from before!”
The goal horn blared loudly through the speakers, as the Fiore national team scored the first goal, much to Natsu’s disbelief. It was at this point, when he finally opened himself up to her, as he slumped against the sofa.
“And you really can’t give up on what you’ve done, so far!” The blonde expressed to him, strongly, “You’ve gotten far enough, to make it to where you are, now...simply, because you’ve worked so hard for it!”
Natsu slowly turned to her, his eyes wavering a bit. A different horn sounded out, in the game, signalling the end of the first period.
“So, please,” Lucy pleaded to him, as the second period started, “Natsu...you have to keep trying.”
Natsu could see the light twinkling in her large, brown eyes, projecting the same intent, with such passion in them. Blinking a few times, the pink-haired hockey player turned back to the screen, as he kept playing.
“Yeah,” the pink-haired male agreed, frowning slightly.
“You just have to put a little bit more trust in yourself, you know?” She smiled brightly at him. “You have to believe more in your own abilities.”
“Yeah,” he turned to her, smiling back. “That too.”
The goal horn blared again, as the Magnolia Fairies managed to tie it up, at one apiece.
Lucy watched the replay of the goal scored by the Fairies, before turning to him. “Just remember who’s right behind your back, always supporting you, the whole way,” she added. “You’ve got your teammates, you’ve got your fans...”
Natsu turned to her, right as the second period ended, in the game.
“Hey, even the ones who you care the most!” She then grinned at him. “Especially me, Natsu! You’ve got me, who’s always cheering for you...”
He chuckled quietly. “Well, yeah, I mean...you’re always there for me, as well.”
“Exactly,” she pointed out.
The third period began with the teams tied at one. Natsu continued to mash at the buttons and sticks on his controller, while Lucy just simply moved the sticks around—only pushing the buttons, when she needed to. With the dying seconds of the match, Lucy controlled one of the players on the screen, scoring the goal to win the game.
The blonde screeched loudly, raising her arms triumphantly. “YAY! I WON!”
Natsu was aghast, as he suddenly sat up straight. “Wha—,” he whipped his head to her, then back to the T.V., repeating a few times. “How did you—,” he sputtered. “No way! You actually beat me?” He raised his eyebrows, as he finally turned to her. “No one has actually beat me in this game, for a long time! How did you...?”
Lucy simpered, in response. “Well, little did you know that I play these kinds of games, with the other girls, too...”
“Ah,” he rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, “I can see that.”
“But, you get what I mean, by all that, right?” She raised her eyebrows at him. “You gotta keep trying, until you can find the best of your abilities, again.”
Natsu nodded. “Yeah, I know everything that you’re saying to me, Lucy.” He then flashed a bright smile at her. “And I want to thank you, for those encouraging words of yours.”
“It’s nothing, Natsu,” she adamantly stated, a slight blush on her face. “I just want you to feel better.”
The pink-haired male chuckled quietly again, followed by the blonde, as they sat closer to each other, both enjoying in the company of one another.

How I Met Your Mother
Nalu Week 2017
Prompt: (day 7, my own) 'beginning'
'How I Met Your Mother'
Word Count: 902
Modern AU, Officer Dragneel & Journalist Heartfilia
Rating: teen+, swearing and threatened violence
Summary: Officer Natsu Dragneel meets Journalist Lucy Heartfilia at work.
"Hey, what's shakin'? C'mon over here and tell me how much for a half-hour of your time."
Lucy looked over her shoulder at the man who'd cat-called her. "Shakin'? Your hands, buddy. You're wasted." Ignoring her companion who grabbed at her arm in an attempt to drag her off, Lucy narrowed her eyes and stood firm. "Go find someone without standards."
A sneer on his red, blotchy face, the man dropped his empty beer bottle. It made a muffled clinking noise on top of the garbage already ankle deep in the alley. "Lookin' like that? You're gonna turn me down?" His hands flexed and clenched before pushing himself away from the dirty brick wall he'd been leaning against.
About to retort, her friend yanked harder, squeaking into her ear. "Lucy! Did you forget what we're dressed like? This isn't part of the plan!" Tugging down her short, blaring orange skirt, Levy giggled - but it was not a happy sound.
Lucy sighed as she saw how upset Levy looked. "I can't let anyone talk to me this way, you know -"
"You're nothing but a cheap tramp!" Grabbing his crotch, he screamed more invective, each more crude than the last, spittle flying. "When I'm done with you ain't no one gonna recognize your face!"
Squaring her feet, Lucy let the man charge at her. Levy let go and backed away behind her - well out of reach. Years of personal defence training guided her actions. Her breathing slowed, her eyes tracked the lurching steps of the man. She gauged his momentum - perfectly. Over her hip he sailed, landing face down.
Air grunted out of his lungs, but he struggled to rise. "Dammit!" His hands immersed in garbage, he looked at Lucy, a mottled bruise forming on his forehead. "Imma teach you a lesson!" Hatred and a flash of animal cunning swept over his face.
"Levy - run! I can handle this loser, but we need the police." Lucy shot Levy a stern look, daring her to defy her order. "He's the one who's got a lesson coming!"
"Be careful!" Levy ran, eyes searching every flash of motion for a cop, desperate to find help.
"Ain't nobody gonna help you, bitch." Evil glee coloured his voice, "Imma have some fun and leave you with a smile." He stood up, a liquor bottle in one hand. "Beg me for mercy."
Adrenalin surged once more - her stomach churned, and Lucy said a silent prayer. Weapons made fights even more unsafe - for each party. Tossing her hair, Lucy backed up. "Beg? You should be begging my pardon."
"It's late and your little hooker friend ain't gonna find any cops 'round here." Another greasy smile on his bloated face made him look like a cartoon villain. "This is Phantom Lord territory. You shoulda took my money when you had the chance."
"I don't care whose territory this is, there's no cause for you to treat a lady this way." Forgetting the tight, red, low-cut dress she wore, Lucy spoke with authority. "I'm not for sale."
His arm swung. Glass shattered and decorated the alley wall. "I'm gonna take what I want for free." Rage and lust swimming with the alcohol in the man's body made him careless. All he could focus on was the blonde woman and what he wanted to do to her body. He could make her beg - she wouldn't be so proud - and finally show her what a real man could do as he took what he wanted.
Testing the weight of his weapon, the man held it out towards Lucy, waving a lazy 's' pattern. His breathing became more like panting as his obscene imagination gave him more ideas. Intent on his prey, the man didn't notice two sets of footsteps running towards the dank alley.
Lucy felt calm roll over her body. This was it - her assailant only had moments before he realized he was in deep shit. He'd make one last attempt or give up. Distract him or confuse him? Both. Her chest inflated. Her scarlet painted mouth opened. A high piercing note burst forth - a sharp, terrible sound honed by years of voice training.
The man went to cover his ears, saw Lucy's triumphant glare and changed his mind. He roared, "Fuckin' bitch," as he ran at Lucy - broken bottle aiming for her face. Half muttered threats mixed with a snarl was all that Lucy could hear. She poised herself for the attack that never landed.
Two loud retorts made her ears ring. The man stumbled, jerked and fell face first in the garbage, blood welling from his shoulder. Her scream changed tenor - just as high, but now exuding fear.
Levy ran to her best friend and caught her in a hug, rubbing and patting her back, doing her best to soothe. The policeman called for backup; requesting two blankets, conflicted over what he'd seen. A john attacking a hooker was the sort of sordid thing he often saw. But to have it escalate - he hoped it was something he'd never get used to.
"Ladies, ladies - backup will be here soon." His attention fastened on the intelligence gone glassy in the blonde's eyes. Gentling his tone further, he made no threatening moves. "I'll get statements from the both of you and then you can have your pimp post bail."

Nalu Week 2017: Final Prompt The Lady & the Dragon
Prompt: Intertwined by Impracticaldemon [also on FFN & coming to AO3]
Author's Note: My final submission for Nalu Week 2017! I hope you enjoyed these chapters. As always, all reviews and comments are greatly appreciated.
This story is a sequel to the previous chapter.
The Lady and the Dragon Prompt: Intertwined
Lucy became more and more impressed with Fairy Tail University as the school year progressed. It wasn’t just that the profs were interesting—they were, but they were also a little strange—it was the way that the practical things were handled so as to leave time and energy for clubs and hobbies. For example, the student medical clinic was well-staffed and made full use of experienced nurse practitioners as well as doctors in order to reduce wait times. The cafeteria served decent food, and while it wasn’t the gourmet meals that Lucy had grown up with, somebody obviously cared enough to make sure that it tasted good and that students with the more common special dietary needs weren’t forced to either eat the same thing each day or buy expensive food off-campus.
The best thing about FTU was that nobody was forced to participate in intramural or varsity activities, but somehow nobody got left out either. Even the shyest students got taken in by a senior student, or by another student in their year who was either more outgoing or had some reason to already know the place well—for example, there were several students whose parents or older siblings had been at FTU in the past.
By the end of the first six weeks, as Lucy started to gear up toward midterms and pay more attention to when various papers were due, she was beginning to wonder how the place functioned—how could they afford it all without charging much higher fees? She’d heard that they had special funding from the government, but in her more creative moments Lucy imagined all sorts of things, from acting as a front for money-laundering—criminal outfits did sometimes run proceeds of crime through charities like universities and hospitals—to bizarre experiments that required an unsuspecting, yet intelligent group of test subjects.
The truth turned out to be a little different: FTU took in students with the potential for “magic”, like some sort of not-very-exciting Hogwarts. Nobody actually studied magic—at least, not until much later. So Lucy was left to wonder and speculate and come up with creative stories with working titles such as “The Mob is Running my School but I Don’t Care Because They Have Great Health Care”. Her friends Levy (English and Library Sciences) and Ev (English and Creative Writing) were still giggling over “My Life as a Lab Rat: Year One”.
She got her first inkling of the truth shortly before her last midterm. Naturally, it involved running into Natsu. In fact, she had seen quite a lot of the guy after school had started, despite the fact that they were in different years and faculties. Lucy sometimes wondered if he ever attended his own classes, because he had developed a tendency to walk her to class and then stay for the lecture. Occasionally he’d even stayed awake.
It was shortly before ten at night, and Lucy was racing toward the grocery store, hoping to pick up one of the key ingredients to successful studying: chocolate. Unfortunately, Natsu was moving too fast for Lucy to avoid him. There was a muffled “thud” as the two crashed into each other, late fall outerwear reducing much of the impact. As usual, Natsu was completely impervious to damage, and his muscular, solid build was barely rocked by the collision, but Lucy got tossed about three or four meters sideways.
“You okay?!” Natsu called to Lucy, as she struggled to get up.
Of course I’m not okay, she thought angrily, you just hit me like a ton of bricks. Or a brick wall. Or whatever the hell the right metaphor is. And yet… Lucy wasn’t really hurt. It was probably all the strength training she’d been doing with Erza.
“You should look where you’re going!” Lucy shouted back at Natsu.
Natsu took this as a good sign—she was conscious, anyway—and he immediately went to the heart of the matter: “Look, I’d better get inside—that way at least one of us can pick up food for studying!”
Lucy watched in slight disbelief as he left her sitting where she was, scrapes and bruises and all, and rushed into the store. He was probably right that getting to the store was the priority. At the same time, she would have appreciated a bit of sympathy. Natsu was like that though—as long as you weren’t dead or unconscious, you were pretty much good to go. In some ways it was a vote of confidence.
The storekeeper was standing at the door when Lucy hobbled up. He gave Lucy a slight smile and let her in.
“Your young man said that you probably had a chocolate emergency and could I please just wait a moment or two.”
Lucy returned the smile sheepishly and ignored the implication. “I do actually. When things get really tough, I like to have a nice thick bar of semi-sweet baking chocolate on hand. It, uh, doesn’t disappear as fast and—well, there are reasons.”
“Aisle five, I’ll wait for you at the cash.”
“Thanks!”
When Lucy reached aisle five, she found Natsu staring pensively at the baking supplies. He sniffed when she approached—something that she was getting used to—grinned toothily, and then handed her two bars of semi-sweet baking chocolate.
“I know it’s dumb, but I couldn’t remember whether you wanted semi-sweet, extra dark or unsweetened.”
“Nobody eats unsweetened, Natsu.”
“Yeah? Huh.”
“What about you, what were you here for?”
“Oh…” Natsu looked oddly embarrassed. “I just thought, you know, that you might have run low on chocolate. I smacked into you outside because I was focussed on what exact type you needed.”
Lucy felt her heart-rate accelerate a little. He’d had that effect on her ever since the first time they’d met. If “met” was the right word. It was surprising how often Natsu seemed to literally bump into her. A couple of times it had even been beneficial: for example, a few days ago he’d knocked her flying just before a large piece of metal roofing had slid down on top of the spot where she’d been standing. While Natsu’s tackles were the opposite of gentle, the sheet metal would have hurt her badly if he hadn’t forced her out of the way.
“Oh…” Way to go, Lucy. Very articulate. “I mean—thanks, Natsu!” Then her brain caught up with the situation and she added: “I suppose you were going to bring it over and then pass out in my room while I studied?”
“Your bed is way comfier than mine, and I don’t have to wake up to find Gray hogging the shower.”
“So you’ve told me.” They’d been having this conversation for three weeks now. Natsu was proving as impervious to hints, orders and outright threats as he was to bodily harm. You know, I meant to ask… “Natsu, how come nothing ever hurts you? It’s kind of weird, in a good way.”
“Oh, most people who can channel magic are damage resistant. I thought you knew.”
Lucy stared at him. She considered laughing, but he was obviously serious, and as unconcerned as if they were talking about the weather. Magic? “Magic, Natsu?”
“Come on, Luce, we’d better pay and get out of here.”
“Huh? Natsu!” She hurried after him, clutching the chocolate.
Not long afterward they found themselves back outside under the cold, eerie light of the late November moon. It was as good a night as any to believe in magic. Lucy shivered. Natsu wrapped an arm around her without hesitation, and she relaxed as his heat began to seep into her. He was always extra-warm, which was a good thing now that the weather was so cool.
When they got to Lucy’s dorm, Natsu stopped a few feet from the door and turned Lucy around to face him. She’d never seen him so serious.
“I tend to live my life from day-to-day, Luce,” he began. “I don’t ask why and what a whole lot—I figure I can leave that to people like you and Levy. But whatever happens, I’ll be there for you. You’re the one I’m meant to look out for—and maybe vice versa.”
Lucy was startled, but didn’t protest, when Natsu pulled her into a tight hug.
“… Natsu…”
“Sometime, in the past, though I don’t really understand it, I waited for too long to do this.” Natsu continued to hold her close against his body, so that she could feel his muscles move, even through his jacket. He nuzzled her ear, and she jerked her head back—out of surprise, not dislike. In fact, the sensation of his warm breath on her neck was provoking sensations very different from dislike.
“Lucy? What”—his question, whatever it was, went unfinished. Their eyes met, and then their lips.
Somewhere in the far recesses of her mind Lucy noted that there was something about a kiss that couldn’t be properly expressed on paper—although in the future she’d no doubt try again. Warm lips, warm bodies, their arms now wrapped around each other in an effort to be as close as possible. Lucy felt something like fire run along her nerves as Natsu’s fingers brushed across the soft skin of her neck before twining in her hair. Her eyes were closed, but for a moment that didn’t seem to matter; somehow, she saw a dragon, as huge and red as anything out of myth, outlined in the darkness behind Natsu. Even as the vision faded, she wondered—just for a fleeting instant—what she would see if she could see herself. One day perhaps she’d find out.

Chapter 1: Gravity of Tantric Love Part 1
A/N:Hey guys, it's me back again (aka the former comsicdragonqwizard/dragon-shield-maiden/star-crossed dragon with a reupload of one my fics Tantric Flames. This fic should be considered slightly AU since it takes place a short time after the events of the final manga arc where Natsu is still a Etherious dragon-slayer demon hybrid (after Lucy is still able to save him, but without the merging seeds putting his life at risk). Anyways, I don't want to keep you all much longer, so without further ado, here is the story. ! (Oh and don't forget to hit me up on fanfiction/Tumblr (millennial-star-gazer on tumblr) Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail which instead belongs to the one and only Hiro Mashima, nor the brochure text featured in this fic.

"In the eye of storm you'll see a lonely dove.
The experience of survival is the key to the gravity of love."
(Enigma: Gravity Of Love)
To my beautiful mate:
Luce,
Come to the guild's library for your Happy Endings" massage when you get here . I'll be waiting.
Natsu
P.s. If you get any of those stupid jerkfaces tryin' to make a move on you got the sexy get up I have no doubt you're wearin', remind me which me to keep an eye out on the streets for so I know who I owe a good thrashin' if they even think of tryin'' again.
The words scrawled across the paper though barely legible, seemed to leap right off the page of Natsu's hand written note, electric surge of thrill-infused energy pumping through her veins; in time with Her heart beating a mile a minute from anticipation over the implications of his promise. Clad in nothing more than a lacey-silk-cotton bra and panties set underneath her turquoise-blue kimono fabric of her robe ,the summoner strode her way past the prying eyes of guild members' stares without a single glance when she entered, thinking only of the morning's past events.
Flashback
The morning at the guildhall had started off pleasantly enough when Lucy made arrangements to meet with Levy for a "girl's pancake style breakfast", delighted by the prospect of dilvulgjng news of a nifty little deal Lucy just happened to come across on her way over (that in actuality, proved to be quite a feat itself considering how she first had to pry herself free from the tempting , warm arm's embrace of a somonolent, overtly-thoughly sweetly affectionate dragonslayer seemingly reluctant to loosen his hold on his most beloved princess even in the midst of his state of half-dreams showering her with lazy kisses along the creamy canvas of skin which was beyond nearly impossible to resist.) The details of the "nifty little deal" in question were pertaining to a phamplet Lucy collected from a zen-like sales rep handing out brochures as a promotion tactic to attract would-be clients to the opening of the new "Eastern Promises Luxury Beauty, Health, Wellness and Rejuvenation Spa" towards the east end outskirts of Magnolia.
Selling the young woman on the idea of "trying out discounted luxury spa services for first time vistors-the sales rep words, not hers,-though quite effective in their appealing to the privileged "little rich girl-heiress in her -the celestial wizard gladly accepted the brochure before rushing over to the guild to meet up with levy.
Now Lucy was seated at the bar sipping her fresh mug of coffee about to show the script Mage the leaflet, when she was greeted by the soft pressure of lips brushing against her cheek at the same time of sinewy arms encircling her waist to pull her back against a solid chest she couldn't help but lean into .
"Mornin' Luce," Natsu rumbled, husky vibrations of her lover's voice against skin sending tremendous- not to mention beyond pleasant - shockwaves rippling through her nerves. "So this is where you ran off to after you left huh?
"Good morning to you too, sunshine," Lucy acknowledged, light-hearted affection highlighting the lilt of her words. "And obviously, I needed to get up to get ready because I told you yesterday I was meeting Levy for breakfast. Remember?"
"Yeah, course I do weirdo. But you could've stayed in bed a little bit longer with me. Honestly wish ya did, 'cuz I missed those extra few minutes of being able to hold you close in my arms." came his quip of faux-woe , though an endearing amount of sentiment filling his every word otherwise were pulling the corners of Lucy's lips into a wan smile. "Why'd ya have to go and leave me so soon in the morning, anyway Lucy? I would'be gladly given you all the sweet, tender lovin' ya' needed."
"And I have no doubt you would-which I really appreciate- but you know why I couldn't. I would have been late otherwise and besides l didn't want to fully wake you up, since you looked so zen laying there in the sheets. Though it was pretty - Ooh Natsu!" His lips were peppering kisses along the curve of Lucy's cheek, drawing out a breathy giggle-infused squeal in tune with Natsu's contented hum rumbling in his throat.
"Getting your daily fix of showering affection on your girl, aren't you, Natsu?" Levy teased with a light-hearted jab, lifting a brow in response to his , throaty chuckle reverbating through Lucy's bones turning to mush.
"Hmm, what can I say? I can't get 'nuff of her when she's just so damn irresistible, can I Luce?"
"I'll say, I'm just that fabulously enchanting apparently," was Lucy's wry quip, words dripping with light-hearted sarcasm in response to her boyfriend's schmaltzy declaration, which in all honestly actually tugged at her heartstrings just a little. "It'd certainly explain why I struggled to pry myself loose from the ironclad grip of a sleepy, overly insistent pyromaniac of a soul mate who refused to let go."
"Yeah, well, kinda hard to let go when you're a lovesick dragonslayer like me who just wants to cozy up to his mate that he's absolutely crazy about and kiss all over when he wakes up ," drawled the fire breather, his words laced with a lazy purr, all the while burying his nose in the crook of her neck to nuzzle-which did nothing to help Lucy's concentration-before resting his chin over her shoulder. "And 'sides, I didn't exactly hear ya complainin' earlier when I was warmin' you up with to my kisses, but we can discuss it later. Anyway, what're you an' Levy up to now?"
"Lucy and I are just chilling. You know, sitting, drinking some coffee. Catching up. Pretty much just enjoying each other's company really." Levy replied in personable nonchalance, lifting the spa brochure off the counter as she spoke. "Though Lucy was just about to share the details of this spa pamphlet with me actually. It's this new spa opening on the eastern border of magnolia, maybe you've heard of it?"
"You mean that new 'Eastern Promises' place that just popped up? Yeah, I heard of it, been the talk of the town for nearly a week to the point where some of them local townies won't shut up 'bout it. Though it's cool I guess. Why? The two of you planning on checkin' it out or somethin'?"
"Maybe... We're possibly interested in a specific kind of service they may have on offer. Take a look." The dainty hands of the script mage flipped open the leaflet, revealing elegantly written text flowing across the page.
"Why are morning massages so good for You? After a restful nights sleep your body and your muscles are warm, soft, and very pliable, before the stresses of the day set in. This is the perfect time for a Siam Thai or Oil Massage. Your aches and pains can be soothed away. With this in mind we make you this Special Morning Massage Offer: for a relaxing and rejuvenating Siam Thai or Siam Oil massage..."
The morning massage service promotion in their advertisement seemed to leap off the page at the stellar mage with the promise of the ultimate rejuvenation. Images of what could be, flashed before her eyes: herself spread out across a massage table where the tensions in her muscles from long over-worked hours, after a gruelling mission were melting away beneath kneading hands of capable masseuse.
"They're offering this amazing package deal of discounted services in the first few visits for newcomers! I was actually thinking of heading over there myself later to book a morning massage," Lucy chattered away, her entire face seeming to light up; only to elicit a small noise of disapproval from Natsu.
"Hmmm- I don't know if I think that's such a hot idea Lucy."
"What? Why?" Genuinely puzzled by his reaction, the blonde bombshell's brow furrowed; creasing the dent between her eyes, slanting over to glance at her lover's lips pressing together. "Natsu? Why don't you think it's such a 'hot idea,' exactly?"
"I ...all right, it's just ...and hear me out here." Natsu sighed after a pregnant pause, lips pursing, jealous and territorial vibes seeping into the breath of his voice. "The idea of some bastard, any other guy, touching you, my mate, the one whose heart I rightfully claimed for myself… It doesn't exactly sit well with me."
"Why though?" Lucy pressed again, uncomphrending confusion over his explanation still evident. She would've understood his reaction if this was one of those tantric massages-with anyone other than him- the kind she so often read about in the audit pages of those Love and Fashion Lifestyle magazines.
But there's nothing even remotely sensual or sexual about the type they're offering at the spa, like the tantric karma sutra kind - which I'd never be interested in with anyone other then Natsu since he's my soul mate whom I'd never cheat on. So why all the possessive-someone-trying-to- make-a-move-on-what's mine dragonslayer vibes I'm getting from him?
"There's nothing sexual or intimate about what they're offering in the package from the spa, so what's the problem wiith me going?"
Natsu simply gave a shake of his head in response, lips set in firm line. "Doesn't matter, still too intimate for my tastes."
"How so? Elaborate please." Levy chimed in as follow up, hazel eyes alight with curiosity.
"Well okay. You likely know by now there's a process in which there are some things that are a definitely huge no-go zone in what some random person can and cannot do with the chosen person claimed by a dragonslayer. Right?"
"Yeah, I should. I'm Gajeel's, aren't I?"
"I figured you would. Anyway, a massage from another person of any sort - even the non-sexual kind, would be too intimate for a non-partner to do. In the eyes of a dragonslayer, who, like dragons, are very territorial, possessive, greedy creatures, we are fiercely protective of those we love. Especially our mates. So a dragonslayer's mate getting a massage from some other person they weren't bonded to would be pretty much be out of the question.
"We aren't exactly thrilled bout the idea of a person we know touching our mates, it's way worse if it's some strange douche bag's hands all over our women. Lucy's no exception. 'Cuz like I said before, she became mine and mine alone when I claimed her as my mate. She belongs to me as much as I do her.
"And, not to mention, me having these instincts are heightened 'cause I'm a dragonslayer demon hybrid. Demons also share the same instincts when it comes to their own mates! I refuse to share her for intimate stuff like that with anyone else who ain't me."
"Huh-" Levy mused pensively, teeth kneading her lip. "Interesting... I'm guessing that would no doubt obviously include massages. Though even when it's a paid for, completely non-sexual service, done by a professional in that type of business like a masseuse or masseur?"
"Yep even then, stranger or otherwise."
Lucy could only watch her fellow guildmates verbal exchange of in passive silence, heart sinking when any hope-infused fantasies to unwind in it's most ideal form, after a hectic job requests beneath the capable hands of a masseuse, were beginning to fade."
And seeing how that would be a major line that no sane person would not wanna cross if that were to happen , any one of them stupid enough to do it by lookin to give my girl a rubdown are just beggin' to have their asses kicked.
"Even more interesting..."
"Yeah, you should take it up with metal-face over there before you consider booking a massage for yourself. 'Cuz he'd prolly tell ya the same thing."
"I think I will..."
"Wait , so Natsu what you're basically telling us it that it'd be in everyone best interests for any of any mate Of a dragonslayer not to book a massage because their lovers wouldn't approve of anyone else -maSseuse or otherwise like you said - giving them one?" the celestial Mage's voice broke in moment later when she clued in, unable to stop disappointment from bleeding into her words."so are you're saying I shouldn't go then?"
"I honestly prefer you didn't Luce." Natsu went on to point out before clarifying, though he didn't sound angry, "Didn't book the massage, I mean."
"So then this means no more plans of morning bliss at the hands of a highly trained professional in the art of massage ?"
"No sweetheart, I'm sorry," Natsu verified with a seemingly infinite-amount of"-tender-hearted-patience-reserved-solely-for-you -being-the-love-of-my-life-and-all, pressing lips lightly against her temple in a chaste kiss ( though it did in spite of her disappointment, warm heart at little his soft-hearted treatment.), "not unless you wanna see me clobber a guy for touching what isn't his. You definitely can still feel free to go the spa for somethin else though, yeah?"
"Oh... I uh...okay...Dammit." Lucy was fumbling in her efforts to work towards a solution; to which Dismay over finding none were pulling the corner of her lips into a frown, eliciting another chuckle from Natsu.
"Aw, c'mon weirdo! Don't be like that. I'll be happy to give you one if you want and besides," - His lips were at Lucy's ear now, whispering sinfully sweet nothings Which when in tandem with his hot breath fanning across the shell were shooting tingly shives of delight down her spine ." I thought you liked my massages."
"I-i do" Lucy muttered somewhat distractedly, breath hitching in response to her bewitching-wicked -dragon-sexgod-of-a-lover's teeth grazing shell to say nothing of the rapturous waves of sheer ecstasy already in the process of washing over her.
Levy meanwhile, decided at that very moment to slip away -though not without a infuriatingly cheeky "you-are-so-hopelessly-smitten to that boy's charms"- kind of giggle escaping her throat; to which the blonde made an idle note for later to find a way to wipe the smirk on that damned girl's face for her traitous, teasing- based mutiny." I still do believe me -love them In fact- but it's not fair for you to go to all that trouble."
"Hmmm...but that's were you're wrong Lucy, I just love making my beautiful mate feel good , so it's no trouble at all really." Natsu countered or rather crooned in that silken purr of his, which really wasn't exactly doing wonders for her spiking heart-rate already interrupted in the process of skipping several beats. (especially when he opted to drive home his point by dragging golden-platinum-blonde locks through his fingertips ).
"They, uh...They have these amazing discount prices for new customers."
"Really, is that all?" The hot jet of air he blew in her ear was distracting enough to render coherent speech nearly impossible; plus the knuckles in her grip on the surface of the bar were starting to turn white(as if the goosebumps rippling across her skin wasn't enough).
"Did I-I mention the mani-pedi they're throwing in free of a charge with the massage? It's a limited time offer."
“Hmmm ...no , but I don't see how that's relevant."Natsu challenged timbre coming out way too smoothly for Lucy's own good , depositing a branding wet kiss on the patch of skin below her ear in succession with well timed nibbles in between sucks(;to which one sexually flustered Mage swore she could practically hear the rate of her heart shoot through the rooft .)" I mean I can easily give you my own unique special brand of "happy endings" massage treatment therapists can dream of and for free no less, don't ya think?"
You got me there." Lucy soon realized right there and then that he had her -right where he wanted her, in which her resolve was finally starting to waver after caving into his desires, utterly incapable of resisting when she found herself on the verge of being reeled in by the lure of the pull behind the tempting implications of his words after all counterarguments she could possibly think of failed , ;albeit not without the cadence of her voice between syllables sounding a little too breathy for her own ears.
Your typical, day-day , run of the mill animal magnetism most other women seem to be into be dammed, Natsu's got his own special kind that that only someone who's got the ihots for a by dragonslayer, demon or hybrid combination of the two could possibly even think of beginning to understand.
"Mhmm, anything else?" Natsu fired back at her in between nips and sucks in which the pure bliss from his minstrations were starting to manifest itself in the form of molten desire pooling then soaking through the cotton fabric of her already- dampened panties. though if her boyfriend knew-oh was she kidding, he properly did like usual with that hyper -sensitive sense of smell of his- he likely opted not to say, lest he risk drawing unwanted attention."
"No..." Lucy pressed her thighs together, doing everything in her power not to squirm.
"Didn't think so..."
Another wet kiss atop her new mark scattering all train of thought to which she could could practically hear the diabolical smirk behind the rise and fall of his voice.
“Cat got your tounge, huh Lucy? Anyways look, tell ya what-" Natsu began to offer, lilt of words laced with a husky purr after Lucy failed to respond (what with the way his fingers were stroking along the curve of her collarbone and all).
-"give me some time to get it all together and I'll be happy to give you a massage. I'll even throw in those scented candles and music you like so much so it'll be like you're at the spa-make it all romantic and shit- the best one ya ever got from me or anyone for sure. How does that sound?”
"Really nice actually, okay sure let's do it," Lucy breathed, swayed into accepting his deal from being unable to resist the temptation of of the fire-breather's words, the sheer irresistible power of his magnetism alone, the raging inferno of her innermost desires.
God... I'm like putty in his strong, capable, hands ...

One look, one smouldering hooded gaze, one word, one fiery kiss, one magnetizing touch was all he needed for her to completely unravel at his mercy alone, succumbing to the sinful temptation of her inhibitions, his love, his feral passion, his raw, insatiable desires, his "Tantric Flames". Originally a Submission (slight Au) for naluweek/fluff week/lovefest 2017 (on previous accounts) in which Natsu gives his mate a tantric massage-after much persuasion- she won't soon forget when it turns into so much more.

Living Dangerously by Impracticaldemon
** Rated T for the mildest of mild innuendo. Also, my humour late at night can be of debatable quality.
NaLu Week 2017 Day 1 Prompt: Nostalgia | ~800 words | also on FFN and AO3
They were bruised and beaten and exhausted. Lucy’s head ached, and only the thought of a clean, hot bath made climbing the stairs even remotely possible. Even Natsu’s usually unquenchable fire - haha, not funny - was noticeably dim.
“Why do we do it, Luce?” he asked, for the third or fourth time. “It’s not like it pays well. I mean” - he rubbed a dirty hand through his pink hair, but it wasn’t physically possible for it to stick up any further - “look at us! And I hate having to get new clothes.”
“Well, there’s the goodwill factor,” Lucy mumbled, too tired - and too much in general agreement - to argue the point. “Just... just sit on the couch and don’t touch anything. You’re filthy and I get the bath first.”
Natsu didn’t so much as twitch in response, let alone protest. He sat down on the couch, closed his eyes, and laid his head back on the soft blue fabric. Lucy almost felt concerned. As they had grown closer, and had oh-so-slowly begun to admit that they were moving toward a different - they avoided the term “better” - relationship, Natsu had developed a tendency to joke about just taking baths together to save heat and water.
Lucy leaned in the doorway to the bathroom, eyes tracing Natsu’s familiar profile and the clean lines of his sharp chin and well-defined shoulders and collar-bones. For a moment, she seriously considered taking Natsu up on his offer. He would definitely keep the bathwater warm. Then she felt herself redden and shook her head with a sigh. She was obviously way too tired to be making important decisions right now.
Instead, she rubbed her temples and said: “Happy bailed on us early. That made it harder.”
“Yeah. Whatever happened to friends forever’ and ‘I’ll always be by your side’? I mean geez! I remember when he helped me fight Cobra! Clouds of poisonous gas everywhere an' Erik predicting our every move...”
“I still remember Happy trying to save Charle from the whole Exceed army in Edolas - and then trying to save the Exceeds from the king!” Lucy hesitated for a moment, then added: “He has a big mouth and a snarky attitude sometimes, but he saved my life, pretty much, the first time we met.”
“Huh, yeah. And he’s been calling you ‘heavy’ ever since.”
“Ha! That’s one of the more polite terms.” Lucy sighed, but it was an odd mixture of exasperation and affection - and something else perilously like nostalgia. She suddenly felt like twenty-four going on eighty.
“Do you rem-- “ Natsu began.
“Don’t. Just don’t. If we start on a do you remember when stroll - or panicked flight - down memory lane, then bad things will happen.”
Natsu lifted his head slightly and peered at her rather warily from the couch. “Bad things like what?”
“Well first, I’m not going to make it into my bath before I collapse. And second, I’ll feel even older than I do now, and I am feeling plenty old after the day we just spent.” She hesitated and then continued: “And tired, dirty, cantankerous Lucy is not going to be quite as cuddly as clean, sleepy, not-so-grouchy Lucy.”
Natsu managed a small huff of amusement and sat up enough to catch and hold Lucy’s gaze. “You know what, Luce? I don’t really mind either way. I mean - don’t get me wrong! - cuddly, relaxed Lucy is better... But I think we’ll manage okay even when we’re as old as we feel right now.”
There was a short silence. Natsu was so unpredictable, Lucy thought. Most of the time he was totally oblivious - or pretended to be. And then he’d turn around and say exactly the right thing.
“I’ll go get that bath then,” she said at last, eyes unaccountably misty. Fortunately, the excess sentiment was absorbed by Natsu’s next statement, which was distinctly less lover-like, but undeniably heartfelt.
“Although, if you ever offer to babysit Gajeel’s little terrors again at the same time as Cana and Mira’s hellborn babe--”
“I know, I know!” Lucy interrupted, groaning.
“Well, I may just leave along with Happy! Seriously, they’d make anyone nostalgic for a life-and-death battle against every villain in the book!”
Abruptly, they found themselves grinning at each other. Lucy’s warm brown eyes sparkled, and Natsu’s dark eyes seemed to laugh back in response. There were going to be plenty of opportunities to build even more memories in the future.
But preferably away from toddlers and four-year-olds.for at least a little while longer. Maybe. Secretly, each of them thought that their own couldn’t possibly be as much trouble...

Nalu Week 2017: Flaws
The Best Laid Plans of Natsu and Lucy by Impracticaldemon
Author's Note: A very busy summer caused this to be shorter than planned, but I hope you'll enjoy it! (Art below by Mashima.)
Words: 550 | Available on FFN and AO3
Team Natsu had become known as the strongest team in Fairy Tail. Lucy still didn't quite understand why she'd been accepted—in fact expected—on the team, but then again, Fairy Tail was like that. Nothing quite made sense and that was fine. From time to time, Lucy, Natsu and Happy would go off on their own, usually to help pay Lucy's rent. It had started early on, because sometimes Lucy's share of the rewards from team missions wasn't enough, thanks to the destructive capabilities and propensities of Team Natsu.
Natsu and Happy were always very generous with their time, usually working with Lucy for free. Then again, she sometimes felt as though they occupied her apartment as much as she did. Also, the difficulty with their help was that their plans frequently had unforeseen flaws.
"You just had to knock out the key support pillar, didn't you?!" Lucy had shouted on one memorable occasion.
"You said to take out some pillars so you could get a clear line of sight!" Natsu had retorted.
"Well yeah, but I didn't mean the massive, decorated thing in the middle of the room! It never occurred to me that you'd go after that one! And those monks were pretty ticked off at us afterwards!"
"We got rid of the giant rats."
"You vaporized part of their holy crypt!"
"They should have built it sturdier!" Pause. "Besides, cremation is the top choice of the truly modern, um, about-to-be-dead-person."
"What?!"
"It's in their pamphlet!"
"What?!"
"I got bored when they started talking about history and stuff—I figured you wouldn't get mad at me for not paying attention if I pretended to read something and nodded from time to time."
"…Well, that explains why you looked so serious when he told us where the bathrooms were."
The worst thing—or best thing—was that Lucy would always end up giggling, eventually. And then Natsu would grin. It worried Lucy just how much she loved that grin. It was triumphant and joyful, and at the same time warm and caring and reassuring.
Lucy had a feeling that at some point, when the current, rather terrifying threats to their lives and their world had been defeated—somehow—she might just want to kiss that grin. Of course, Natsu would probably dissolve into complete confusion if she did, but that was okay. She was pretty sure that he wouldn't be confused for long. Their plans might often be flawed, and so were they, but a bright grin might become a tight hug, and a tight hug might become a lingering kiss. A lingering kiss had definite possibilities.
So in the here and now—Natsu's world—they would go on making their flawed plans and dealing with the consequences. But in the hazy, hoped-for future—Lucy's world—they would continue to laugh at those flaws, while becoming closer in a different way. Lucy was becoming quite certain that the joy of life with Natsu would far outweigh its frustrations.
Suddenly, the world was full of blue cat.
"That's a weird smile, Lucy! What are ya' thinking about?" Then, watching the tell-tale blush creep over Lucy face and down her neck as Natsu joined them, Happy came to his usual conclusion: "Aww, she liiiiiikes him!"
