Okay okay, I've gotten to the point in the book where I see sloane's first shift towards dissention and its from seeing how addison and tann immediately started to scramble over her, kesh, and each other for political power in the wake of the inital scourge crisis when, you know, the ship is still in an immediate and severe life support crisis, all of their leaders (including Garson presumably) are dead, and there are literal piles of corpses strewn across the station

And honestly? She's so right so far? Why the fuck are we talking about politics and leadership structures right now when the room is on fire??

My, what a lovely surprise. I was just starting my romance with Josephine today, and I thought “hmm, her voice is familiar. She must have played someone in Mass Effect, I’m sure of it.” And sure enough she plays Nakmor Kesh! Though they don’t sound extremely similar it’s still evident, to me at least.

I wanted to reach the Nexus to start working on the next transcript so I did that this afternoon (also added more dialogue options to the other scripts).

And that allowed me to see the one and only Nakmor Kesh again:

Anyway, I'm excited because MEA is so immersive, there are a LOT of lore waiting for me, it's been a long time, and I'm also a big fan of the Pathfinder team, I love SAM... I mean what else really? I love jumping everywhere :D And of course, the voice acting and the music are A+

Oh HELL yes squad meetings after assignment. Everyone is arguing. There's weird old alien shit no one understands. Ryder fully just recruited two random aliens in her first day off the Nexus. I have been given free reign and a sick ass ship to go explore the galaxy. Nakmor Kesh is a character of all time. We are so fucking back.

Lia Urdnot-Shepard

This lovely lady is one of my friend @dramaqueenharley’s triplets.

Backstory - Colonist.

Background - Sole Survivor.

Class - Sentinel with a specialisation in Throw, Warp and Barrier. She can also use a dirty trick or two due to being raised by Wrex.

Alignment - Paragon with some losses of temper.

Lover(s) - Many, including Nihlus, Garrus and James. She has a lot of love to give.

Best Friend(s) - Tali, Nakmor Kesh (who is like a big sister to the trio) and Joker (who is their cousin).

Lia and her siblings, Lana and John, were celebrating their 8th birthday on Mindoir, when the colony was attacked. Luckily, Wrex happened to be in the area on a bounty hunt, when he caught the tail end of an SOS while refuelling in a nearby cluster. He travelled to Mindoir in hopes of seeing if there are any survivors and scavenging some scrap in case his ship needed repairs. Instead, he encounters three terrified, high-on-adrenaline kiddos. He immediately rescues them, taking them off world and to the Citadel, where he eventually ends up adopting them. Lia and her siblings completed the Urdnot Rite as they entered adulthood, and while they didn’t manage to kill the Thresher Maw outright, it was found dead 2 days later.

Lia tries to be stoic while on the clock, but during her down time she's a bit more free with her emotions. And she will help someone if she has the ability to do so without hurting herself. She will straight up knock someone on their ass if she sees harassment of any kind.

Possibly due to her experience with Maws, she is the sole survivor from Akuze. She has a habit of biotically yeeting people in high-stress situations, and actually ended up defenestrating Kahoku when he, Anderson and Alex Ryder came to Akuze to search for survivors (Anderson did warn him not to just barge in).

She had a fling with Spectre Nihlus Kryik during a week of shore leave before the shakedown run on the Normandy, however they only exchanged nicknames, so you can imagine the awkwardness when they come face to face on the mission.

After dealing with the Crucible, Lia’s soul is yeeted into Thedas, where she spends a lifetime (though this was actually 4 months in a coma).

Full name: Kiara Evelyn Ryder

Best friend: Scott, then Kandros, then her whole crew. She loves all of them and trusts them completely. She would also count Nakmor Kesh as a good friend. Kiara always loves stopping by her office whenever she's on the nexus (partly to hide from Tanner and Addison, and figure out her feelings for Kandros)...until he starts showing up at Kesh's office too when Kiara's around ;)

Favorite color: Blue, all different shades.

Relationship status: Start of the game: Single, End of the game: Taken

Ideal mate: Someone that can keep up with her, someone who is fine with spontaneous adventures but also able to stay at home and relax.

Turn-ons: *still figuring this out*

Favorite food: Kiara loves junk food! Anything greasy and bad for you is her go to meal. But her favorite is a home cook meal from her mom that she knows she'll never have again.

Crushes: Kandros and Jaal!

Favorite music: Rock or anything with a good beat she can get lost in and dance to.

Biggest fear: Losing her family and ending up alone. After becoming pathfinder, being the reason everyone in Andromeda fails (she's a bit hard on herself)

Biggest fantasy: Being the hero and saving the day. It was going on the most grand adventure ever, but then she got to do that.

Bad habits: High expectations of herself, using humor to deflect serious conversations, pulling away when she needs to open up and rely on her friends.

Biggest regret: She never got to tell her father how much she loved him. Or say goodbye.

Best kept secrets: her feelings of guilt with everything going down. She's very good at putting on a face. Kiara doesn't have too many secrets, she's a pretty open book.

Last thought: Before going under cryo, that going to Andromeda is worth it. Before going to sleep in Andromeda, can she actually do this.

Worst romantic experience: probably went on a date to some hole in the wall bar playing music where the date got super drunk and passed out in the bathroom.

Biggest insecurity: She should have never been made pathfinder.

Weapon of choice: X5 Ghost Assault Rifle

Role Model: She would never admit it, but her father Alec and one she would admit, Shepard.

The biggest problem with ME:A (besides the graphics, animations and bugs) it's that the characters are so... Uninteresting. Besides Jaal, Scott and Reyes, all of them were so boring that I didn't want to get to know them. I'm thankful they give Jaal and Reyes to the boys too because gosh I can't like Gil at all, I don't like his personality and his story ( and don't get me started to talk about his terrible character design)

Uh oh... now I'm worried about Gil... lay it on me, somebody, why is his romance bad?

I don't find the characters uninteresting, I just don't necessarily like them. Cora seems like a Pathfinder groupie that's wayyyyy too willing to trust our dad. Liam kinda freaked me out when he shot the kett corpse, so I don't like him. Nakmor Kesh is interesting, and I like Vetra! Suvi's voice gets on my nerves (and I usually like Scottish accents). I didn't think I could get more annoyed by an asari than Liara, but Peebee is already bugging the bejesus outta me.

I wish we had the opportunity to disagree with Clancy Brown-dad. I don't like SAM or really the whole colonizing new worlds idea... like, I guess that's on me cause it was the whole premise but also like... I dunno. I'm keeping my mind open and trying to see what's good.
