Just a silly idea that one of my friends gave me. And it evolved a bit when i got a hold of it.

li ling deserves a crashout!!

talking abt li ling again bc obviously. so basically dislyte careers are kinda notorious for ending the little snippets in a way that implies that the character is like, on the other side of their struggles and has a clear direction of where their life is going next, and typically i don’t mind it, but i dislike it for meta li ling and i’ll tell you why. just in general, the idea that passing the trials/gaining pneuma is an indicator of like, self actualization or enlightenment or whatever kinda erases the interesting potential from li ling’s circumstance and OH BOY is there a lot.

so, walk with me here. over the course of his trial, li ling lives CENTURIES as nakia, to the point where he literally forgets his own identity, and for all intents and purposes, IS nakia. he lives nakia’s life, to the point where he loves and loses the same way nakia did millennia ago when he first lived. li ling lives through nakia’s entire descent into madness: the bouts of mania, the guilt of having killed, the vilification by old friends, the suicide attempts, the whole nine yards. he even lives through the transformation of nakia’s body into something truly monstrous, and it’s only when yun chuan reaches him does he remember his old self. 

he then. literally slits his own throat. to save yun chuan from nakia’s contract, knowing that he would die with no way out, which ok hell yeah go power of love. but then nakia gives roy the scale that will quote “reshape his body”

where am i going with this? li ling lives nakia’s long, torturous life, comes to terms with dying, and gets fucking ship of theseus’d back to life in the likeness of the very man whose spiral into madness he lived. that’s gotta fuck a guy up. idk abt you but i’d be having the MOTHER of all identity crises in his place. like you’ve been irreversibly changed to resemble the man who you FELT lose his hope and humanity to rage and violence and on top of that your body may not even be yours anymore?? body image issues go crazy

while it’s undeniable that many of the personality changes li ling underwent post-chaos miracle were a result of his newfound maturity/consciousness of his own place, i think many more can be ascribed to like. clinical depression. like on top of everything he lost his damn arms too!!

tldr: li ling’s mental state post-final elegy is literally a gold mine but goes largely unexplored bc of dislyte’s implicit idea that the personal revelations that cause the meta transformation override the whiplash of returning to one’s life after the fact

Riri looked down at her phone as she waited for you to text her back. Her leg bounced up and down with anticipation as she was ready to leave her class, her professor always said even though she felt like she was “ too smart “ for this class she had to go anyway. She asked if you could meet up after class because she had been wanting to confess her feelings about you for the longest, But she always dodged the opportunity to do so feeling like you wouldn’t feel the same way.

She loved everything about you and would be delusional about you to her friends and when it gets to that point with her she gotta have you.

Then suddenly her phone lightly vibrated on the table she quickly picked it up not listening to anything her professor was saying seeing you hearted her message and agreed to meet up with her.

You sat at the table of the cafe you were supposed to meet Riri at scrolling through your for you page. Adding some of the TikTok to your favorites that made you giggle.

You then felt a light tap on your shoulder as Riri stood behind you smiling at you and kissing you on the cheek before sitting down. You looked away feeling the butterflies in your stomach and your face heating up from her kissing you feeling like never wanting to wash your cheek again after that.

“ So what did you want to talk about? “ you ask, shifting in your seat and feeling the tension between the two of you. '' well I’m just being straightforward with you ma I like you like I like you like you”.

It felt like the world stopped moving once she said yes you did have a crush on Riri I mean who wouldn’t? ( she is fine asf 🤭).

All you could do was be in shock sitting there without having any words to form on what to say back to her.

idk there's something about oveta planning for days to kill nakia (her own aunty), sneaking into her room at night and poisoning her, watching her die slowly and painfully with a hand over her mouth so she can't cry out. leaving her covered in blood and bile, with her eyes wide open and unseeing.

killing a guard (she didn't even know his name), not exactly on impulse but still barely a plan, by bashing his face in as quickly as she could until they're both covered in his blood, and then she steals his clothes and his keys and his sword and then. then she cleans his face, and she tells him she's sorry, and she kisses his eyelids.

Destabilization and possible third film

According to the YouTube channel New Rockstars, the scene where Richard Schiff's character tells Val and Ross that America intents to "destabilize" Wakanda was a reshoot.

This is interesting because there is a scene, and one line in particular, in the original script about destabilization.

When everyone is evacuated to Jabariland, the Elders gather and bicker amongst themselves as waht to do next (Most want to go to Warrior Falls to chose a new ruler but the River Tribe Elder says he can't guarantee the safety of that--which is FUCKING CORRECT. Namor came in through a pond before). The Border Tribe Elder continues to be a dick, as scene in the deleted scenes.

It is Nakia who comes forward to stop them.

NAKIA: This is what he wanted. RIVER TRIBE ELDER (THE DICK): Who? NAKIA: Namor. This is how you destabilize a powerful nation. Remove the leader and let the country descend into infighting and chaos. I have seen it done before. BORDER TRIBE ELDER (such a dick): Why do you care, War Dog? Are you even Wakandan? AYO: She is River Tribe, Wakandan to her soul. She has never failed us, which is more than I can say about your soldiers.

included the Ayo line because I love ladies sticking up for ladies but also zinging the Border Tribe Leader.

More importantly, now we know America will be destabilizing Wakanda for sure. Some have suggested the Thunderbolts will be part of this. I've heard rumors that's about stealing something, possibly vibranium.

There's already tension between Shuri and M'Baku about technology v spiritualism. (There's a weird bit in the script that I'm glad was cut where M'Baku thinks the Talocanil water bombs are "sorcery".) Some kind of problem with Shuri's new developments could cause tension between the King and the Panther.

In addition to already being a dick, I don't think Border Tribe Elder is going to love M'Baku's mocking way of dealing with people. He is used to being respected. And in this scene he actually leaves because of Ayo. In a huff. Like a little bitch. (Directly after this scene, is when we have the deleted scene where he asks Okoye to challenge to be Queen. It's important to me that everyone know Shuri was not yet Panther then for some reason. I guess because it would be the ritual for ruling but without the Heart-Shaped Herb. But the other tribal elders wanted to have the Warrior Falls ceremony anyway. I don't think Shuri could have won against any of the champions unless they all agreed to not put one forth.)

I don't know the loyalties of the Mining Tribe or Merchant Tribe. I would assume the Mining Tribe would be with Shuri, who has long been the vibranium expert. But the Merchant Tribe probably does business with Americans.

The other thing I worry about, and if the Thunderbolts steal this, I will murder them all: someone kidnapping and trying to puppet young T'Challa.

As far as we know only Nakia, Shuri and Ramonda knew about the boy. And Nakia and T'Challa for sure took steps to hide him in Haiti (Nakia mentions that Toussaint's "baba" prepared him for his death). There's not a lot of people I think could outsmart T'Chall and Shuri. I also have a high degree of respect for Nakia's abilities, not just as a fighter but at subterfuge. (Even if she didn't have the resources of the Wakanda government, I could see her going after her kidnapped child Taken-style and saving him.)

So I do think it would be hard to get to Prince T'Challa.

But I'm worried about it. (I'd be so done with you, Bucky. You're on thin ice.)
