Guillermo del Toro goes Japan to promote his film, Pacific Rim.

In an earlier press conference in Japan, they asked him what places he'd like to visit and he said one of them is Nakano Broadway.

So the host brought him to Nakano Broadway, it's an alternative to Akihabara, where all things Otaku are.

Out of all the Tokusatsu Monsters available in the shop, the host ask him to pick one, which is his favourite of them all.

He had a hard time choosing. As much as he love Godzilla, he eventually picked Red King in the end.

He explained how Tokusatsu films played a big part in his childhood and they influenced his films like Pacific Rim and Hellboy.

It gets more wholesome when they get Alien Baltan, one of his favourite monsters to show up!

Bless this man for not being afraid of show his inner child to the world and never lost that childhood curiosity and innocence.

I just got back from Japan a little over 2 weeks ago, and I'm still going through all the things I bought hahaha but I have a tradition that I always try to buy a cel or two when I'm there.

But I was told that my favorite cel shop in Nakano Broadway had closed, and I was ;_; but when I wandered around, there he was!

So I picked up four Cyber Formula cels, featuring my favorite twosome from the show :D (The bottom left one might have been a bit inspired lolol) The path to (fictional) true love occasionally includes an asskicking or two, yes?

Day 9 - Apparently I took only 2 photos this day! On this day it rained AND IT RAINED! So I decided that it was a good day to go a try Nakano Broadway as surprisingly we had never been before. We started the day in Ikebukuro to finish off some shops we had missed on the Saturday and I also wanted to look around the Animate again as it had been unbearably busy when we went before at the weekend.

After that we headed to Nakano Broadway as it was all indoors and a great plan for a rainy day. We mostly shopped, and boy did we shop! As you can see above my haul of stuff from that day. I enjoyed Nakano Broadway a lot, and it they had a lot of cool Mandarakes that specialised in certain things.

I got myself Denji nendo and Matt splurged on this day as up until now he hadn't got much. Afterwards we headed back to Akihabara where we bought Matt a giant banana that he wanted... and we went and had beef bowl for dinner.

Although this day was kinda chill it was a lot of fun and I will 100% go back to Nakano again in the future.
