First of all, I love your blog so much because its informative and fun to read. Its a weird question, have any male ultra got any female host? Today Geed episode suprised me the fact that Belial possesed Arie all along and its nice and weird to me because Belial a male after all. O yeah, i'm a newbie in ultraman universe and only watched Geed, Orb and most of Zero shows and movie.
Thank you for the kind words! I always try to be interesting and fun!
As to your question, I’d like to start by saying the Arie revelation totally came out of left field for me. I did not see that coming and I think I honestly gasped when that was revealed. Well played, Geed writers, well played.
Now, as for male Ultras with female hosts that has only kind of been done once before. In 1972′s Ultraman Ace, Ace split himself between two hosts because he found them both so noble and they both sacrificed themselves to help others. They were Seiji Hokuto (male) and Yuko Minami (female).
They had a pair of rings that they had to touch together to transform into Ultraman Ace.
Sadly, apparently early 1970s audiences weren’t ready for a female Ultra host and she was written out of the series. It was revealed she was actually from the moon and after Ultraman Ace avenged her people, she had to leave the planet and gave her ring to Hokuto, making him the only host for Ace.
Much, much later, two women would be the host for the same Ultra Hero, Ultraman Nexus.
Those two are actually from two different series as well. The first was Nagi Saijyo, a member of the monster fighting team the Night Raiders from the actual Ultraman Nexus series.
The second was Sayuri Tachibana, a member of the defense team XiO from 2015′s Ultraman X.
Thanks for the question and thanks for the kind words!
Edit: Thank you to @irlpigmon for pointing out that Ultraman Justice also has a female host: an alien girl by the name of Julie.

He is so disappointing, in fact, that he’s earned the unfortunate nickname of the “Worst One”. However, things change for Ikki in the most surprising way when Princess Shas tella Vermillion, the most promising Rank-A Blazer to come along in many years, decides to transfer to Hagun. When she challenges him to a duel where the loser must obey the winner for the rest of their life, the last thing anyone expects is that the Worst One might prove to be a match for the Crimson Princess… and the unforeseen consequences will push the boundaries of society itself in CHIVALRY OF A FAILED KNIGHT!

Sentai Filmworks Release an English Dubbed Cast for Chivalry of a Failed Knight Anime
Sentai Filmworks has started streaming a promotional video (Ikki and Stella) for the English dub version of the TV anime series Chivalry of a Failed Knight. It was announced last Friday. The video also shows that Clint Backham will be playing the role of Ikki Kurogane and Luci Christian will play the role as Stella Vermillion. The company will produce the copy on DVD and Blu-ray disc today (June 13).
The anime series featured in Japan in the year 2015 of October. Now, Sentai Filmworks streamed the series on Hulu when it was officially released. Moreover, they have disclosed in the same year that the anime has been licensed.
The Plot
Ikki Kurogane has been living for a long period of time during Blazers, the group of people who have the ability to make devices or weapons established from their souls. However, as far as the Hagun Academy is concerned, Ikki has been the biggest disappointment in the magical power department. This is because he gained the most unusual nickname in the world which is the “Worst One”. As time goes by, things have been changed for Ikki in the most surprising way when he met Princess Shas tella Vermillion. She is the most promising Rank- A Blazer for a long period of time and finally decided to transfer in Hagun. When the princess challenge Ikki for a battle, the loser must obey the winner for the rest of their life. In this way, Worst One must be able to prove his worth for this challenge. The unpredicted consequences will push the boundaries of society itself in Chivalry of a Failed Knight.
About the Anime
Chivalry of a Failed Knight anime adaptation was directed by Shin Oonuma. Jin Tamamura performed the overall director. They worked together with Shogo Yasukawa who is writing the scripts and Sei Komatsubara, creator of the character designs. Silver Lin and Nexus animated the anime.
The title was initially known as Rakudai Kishi no Cavalary and it started to be back in 2013 with artwork by artist Won. The 7 volumes of the light novel series were published as the original airing of the series while the manga adaptation started in March 2014.

As it is Komon’s backstory of nearly drowning as a child before a wanderer saved him is supposed to be a grounding element for an optimistic and trusting character in a very cruel world
However it was actually intended to also serve as the climax to Nagi Saijyo‘s arc. In the original planned ending for Ultraman Nexus, the titular mortally wounded alien would start jumping through time to avoid the villain that has been built up throughout the series
Nagi Saijyo the current host for Noa would find the drowning Komon and save him. Nagi Saijyo is initially presented as a rather callous cynical character and it would havehad a cute little capstone with it being her who inspired Komon to try and be as kind as he is in the series
However due to the reduced episode count it is just later mentioned that an alien saved him with absolutely no elaboration and it is just an unfortunate little thing

I believe that Justice is the first Ultra to be introduced only in films (Ultraman Cosmos 2:The Blue Planet and Ultraman Cosmos vs. Ultraman Justice: The Final Battle) instead of a series (I don’t count one-offs like Legend and Saga).
Justice is also the first Ultra who has a host of different gender (I don’t count Yuko Minami from Ultraman Ace because she was a co-host with Seiji Hokuto). In the third film, Ultraman Cosmos vs. Ultraman Justice: The Final Battle, Justice’s host is a female humanoid alien named Julie.
Tsuburaya would do this again years later, when female Night Raider officer Nagi Saijyo briefly became the host of Ultraman Nexus near the end of that series.

Do you think we'll ever see a proper Ultrawoman lead a series, or even be with a leading Ultraman again like Yullian in 80?
With the recent BBC reveal of the female 13th Doctor (imho it’s about darn time) the question of female lead hero shows seems more important than ever. Sadly, when it comes to tokusatsu, the track record for the major franchises isn’t great. Women have almost always been relegated to the supporting roles in Kamen Rider and Ultraman, playing second fiddle to the male heroes. Super Sentai often does a better job of this, sometimes even putting women in positions of team leadership.
Yes, there are female lead tokusatsu series with many entries in the Toei Fushigi Comedy Series being about women with power such as Bishoujo Kamen Poitrine.
And there were the tokusatsu versions of Cutie Honey and Sailor Moon.
However, none of those are part of the two oldest continuing tokusatsu franchises: Ultraman and Kamen Rider. Getting into the Kamen Rider issues with women would be an entirely different topic and one I’ve mentioned once or twice before so, per the ask, we’ll focus on Ultraman.
There was an attempt to make a woman a central character in an Ultraman series way back in 1972. Ultraman Ace started with the intriguing idea of the host for that series’ Ultra hero be not one person but two with Seiji Hokuto and Yuko Minami sharing the role.
However, due to viewer backlash, Yuko was written out of the series and Seiji Hokuto became the sole host of Ultraman Ace*. Apparently Japan just wasn’t ready for a female lead in an Ultraman seres.
Then came Mother of Ultra in 1973′s Ultraman Taro who was not so much an action hero as a motherly figure for the hero. She has always been shown as a nurturing figure who doesn’t often engage in direct combat and has always been a supporting character without her own series.
Next, in 1980, we come to Yulian (who you mentioned in your ask) a VERY late addition to Ultraman 80, essentially taking the place of Emi Jouno (who has just been killed). She was not allowed to transform until the very end of the series after which she and 80 have to leave Earth which reduced her to a supporting role for most of her short tenure. I will note she was played by the amazing Sayoko Hagiwara who went on to bigger things in Super Sentai.
There was Ultrawoman Beth in the US/Japanese animated co-production Ultraman: The Adventure Begins a.k.a. Ultraman USA however, she was part of a three person team and not the focal character. She has made some live action appearances since but almost always as just a background character.
We wouldn’t see a proper, heroic female Ultra until 2004 when a woman became the host to Ultraman Nexus. She was Nagi Saijyo:
Yet again, she wasn’t the main host though, just one of several in the series.
So, there you have the track record for female Ultra Heroes and it’s really not great. I fear there will never be a female-lead Ultra series as much as I would love to see one. There is just too much of a sense of ‘tradition’ (read that as sexism) in the tokusatsu industry as a whole, especially when it comes to marketing. Having a woman lead a traditionally male-lead franchise is a worry because of the negative impact it could potentially have on sales of the toys, which are marketed towards boys almost exclusively.
Unless something profoundly changes and Tsuburaya’s corporate masters at Fields Corporation and Bandai agree to it, I don’t foresee a female-lead Ultraman series happening anytime soon. I wish there could be but tradition and toy sales are powerful forces that none of the powers that be wish to tamper with. There may be more female Ultra Heroes though, just not as title characters so I would expect to see someone like Yullian or Ultrawoman Beth again.
The above are some background female residents of the Land of Light seen in crowd scenes when the home of the Ultras is shown.
*Those names may sound familiar to current readers of the Ultraman manga as Seiji Hokuto is the name of the Ultraman Ace equivalent who is fighting to help protect a woman named Yuko Minami.

Which kamen rider has had more than one host?
I am guessing you mean Ultramen, Kamen Riders don’t really have hosts and aside from a few examples (like the multiple users of the Faiz, Kaixa and Delta gear) I don’t think many have had more than one person claim the same name or belt.
However, when it comes to Ultramen, there have been a few who have had more than one human host. Let’s start with the most obvious, Ultraman Nexus. This series was based on the premise of the Light being able to pass from one host to another, beginning with First Lieutenant Shunichi Maki in the 2004 feature film.
Then in the TV series that was the follow-up, there were Jun Himeya
Ren Senjyu
Nagi Saijyo
Kazuki Komon
And finally XIO officer Sayuri Tachibana in the 2015 series Ultraman X
So, for the most hosts, Ultraman Nexus definitely takes the grand prize but he was not the only one. There is also Ultraman Zero!
Zero has had three hosts; an alien man named Run, a human member of Super GUTS named Nozomu Taiga and salaryman Reito Igaguri.
In one of the Ultraman stage shows he had another human identity, that of Shin Moroboshi but that wasn’t a host, just a form he took. Ultramen can take on human form to exist on Earth or merge with a human host. This is what Ultraseven did in his original series. However, Ultraseven still makes this list because he has had two human hosts!
The first was Masaki Kazamori, a junior member of the new Ultra Guard.
The second was Jin a.k.a. Agent J of DEUS, a human living in a dark alternate universe that threatened the main world prompting Ultraseven to travel there and stop the dark forces in the 2007 series Ultraseven X.
So, off the top of my head those are the Ultramen I know of that have had more than one host. There are probably more that I am forgetting.
Thank you for the question!
