Astrid had always believed that there was good in people. Even if they came off as brash and unapproachable, it was because they were scared and didn't know how to reach out to people. She gave Nathan a safe space to be whoever he wanted to be and yes, sometimes he was deadly quiet but she didn't mind that. She just liked being around him for some reason. "Who knew that you were a poet, Nathan Frost," she teased him before nodding at his suggestion. "That sounds fun, though I must inform you that I am not very good at painting but I will do my best, maybe abstract painting is my true calling."

Astrid really only had two relationships her entire dating life, not including Nathan and they had been extremely long-term. She put her all into making things work, like with Nathan it was a learning curve but she was trying her best to accommodate him and what he was comfortable with and not diminish who she was in the process. Things seemed to be okay. "Yes, well, I think it was you that referred to me as a ray of sunshine when you first asked me out so I am not surprised." Leaning up, she kissed his cheek before settling back down. "What do you want to do tonight? Your choice this time since last time it was my idea." @atrickrtreat

Nathan could say quite honestly that he's never been in this position before in his life. For as long as he could remember he felt detached from people, even the ones he liked were kept an arms length away. He wondered if he was the problem, if he was too empty to ever get close. Then Astrid happened and suddenly he was full of warmth. He cared very much about making her smile, about treating her well and hearing all that she wished to share with him. And now he was terrified to lose it. If she left him would he go back to being a grumpy husk of a man? "That's exactly what you are. You enter a room and every single person is affected by you, can feel your warmth on their skin. It's fucking incredible, I don't know how you do it," he mused, smiling at her after the kiss. "Alright, I had a semblance of an idea, but it's nothing fancy. I thought maybe we could hang out at my place, have some drinks and just, like, fucking paint together. I got some supplies and thought it might be sweet. Lowstakes, just spending time with each other."
