Opposite sides attract (Eren x Reader)
I was thinking this could take place around season 3 but with older Eren. Technically it would make more sense from a manga standpoint than the anime. This is Nsfw so 18+ only.
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Eren meets a beautiful girl while being held hostage. He's waiting for death or his teammates but all he can think about is you.
"You can't be fucking serious." Eren watched as the two men in front of him bickered unable to speak thanks to the device in his mouth.
"You were leaving anyway right? And I've got business with Rod Reiss. This chick is new but she's feisty, trust me she won't let Eren out of her sight."
"Whatever!" The bigger man threw his hands up in defeat. "If anything happens it's on you, Kenny."
"It's just one night!" Kenny remarked throwing his arms up with a dramatic huff, "It'll be fine."
The husky man groaned, "Come on Flegel." The two of them quickly exited and Kenny placed a hand on Y/N's shoulder.
"Hey, Historia's in the back. But everyone's more worried about titan boy here. So don't mess this up."
"Sure." You replied and with that Kenny was also leaving.
You immediately felt Eren's large green eyes on you. His gaze falling slowly over your facial features, then down your neck, over your chest and hips where they stayed for a little too long-
"If you've got something to say you should say it." You smirked, and you watched irritation work its way onto his features.
He huffed, rolling his eyes and you smiled a little feeling his green pupils stay on you. His head resting against the back of his chair.
"I guess not." You remarked, smirking at the way he grunted over the device between his teeth.
He shifted a bit shoulders splaying as he took a deep breath. It was hard not to stare, even through his shirt you could see the tensing of his abs. His biceps flexing against the remarkably thin fabric. And-
Shit..
He was trying to smile that was for sure. His green eyes sparkling where they held onto you.
"Shut up." You mumbled
He let out a breathy chuckle before repositioning himself in the chair. You both fell quiet for what was probably two minutes until you felt his gaze boring holes into you again. You grunted and moved to pull the biter from his mouth.
"I'm not here for your entertainment, you know." You huffed, staring him down.
"No, but you're the first person to watch over me who isn't an old man."
You couldn't help the way your lips curled up into a smile. You felt his eyes still staring you down, somehow much more intense than before. Your peripheral vision catching the slick movement of his pink tongue casting over just as pink lips.
"Can I ask what your name is?" He asked, you couldn't tell when you looked over at him what he might be thinking.
You scoffed, gaze drifting. "You didn't hear it when I came in? I guess titan powers don't include good hearing."
Surprisingly enough he smirked looking at you from the corners of his eyes. "Nope, I just get bigger."
Your jaw almost hit the floor but you refrained from letting it show on your face. This had been the first job Kenny had let you go on since you joined his gang. You definitely couldn't mess it up.
"Hey." Eren said, tilting his head forward. "Why are you with Kenny?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, you don't look like the kind of girl that should be working against the law. Aren't you worried the military police are going to come for you?"
You rolled your eyes stepping forward so that you were in front of his chair. In one swift motion you kicked it over allowing it to fall flat against the floor with a heavy thud. Eren grunted as he slammed against cold tile.
"Oh yeah, And why would you care? You don't even know me." You said, your breath was fanning his face and he blinked up at you, eyebrows furrowed.
"I don't have to know you to know you're working with horrible people who don't care about you."
You yanked his chair back up, settling into his lap. Delicate thumb coming up to inch over soft pink lips, edging them open slightly. "Does that concern you titan boy?"
When your lips pressed against his it was to test the waters. Hands sliding up to his ears, grazing the soft hairs on his face. Coming in close again you sealed your lips once more.
"What're you trying to do?" Eren asked his voice low like his words were a secret.
You couldn't help the soft snicker that fell from your lips right before you kissed him again. You were surprised by how firm he was right off the bat, pressing back like he'd been waiting to do this all day.
You pulled away again, looking into his slightly hazed over green eyes. "I was just thinking a girl this pretty doesn't have to do some guys dirty work." He said
You caught him off guard this time. Teeth sinking into his bottom lip, tugging it back with you then letting it go bringing your mouth flush against his. One of your hands traveled down his neck to his chest twisting his shirt in your fingers roughly yanking him forward.
He broke away face barely inches from yours. "Hnn so rough.." he practically growled
You felt his thighs spread and you pulled him back in with a smirk. His breath caught, air flushing over your mouth when you grounded your hips into his lap. The print of his cock making your thighs clench around his waist.
"Hmm, someone's easily turned on." You giggled, pulling him as close as you could with both hands tangled in his hair.
"Yeah, the girl that crawled into her captives lap." He shot back
You didn't expect his tongue but when it prodded against your lips, you opened up. Fuck his tongue.. it sent shivers down your spine as he carefully picked you apart. He wrapped his tongue around yours with ease coaxing a moan from your throat.
You felt yourself slowly submitting to Eren's playful bites against your tongue. Gasping when he left a couple against your lips and the sides of your mouth.
"Take the cuffs off." Eren grunted in between breaths that tickled your cheeks.
"I'm not supposed to."
His groan made your stomach ache. He pressed back into you and you held him tightly in place. Hands running up his back.
"Please." He begged "I wanna take your shirt off."
"So bold." You whispered against his lips. In an instant you had scooted back, shrugging off your plain black tee.
His hum of acknowledgment met with some soft grinding against his cock. You couldn't help but claw at his shirt over the breathy hums and grunts he let slip.
He leaned in closer to your ear, " I wanna touch them."
You met his lips with a chaste kiss which he chased when you pulled back. "Good things come to those who wait." You warned
You inched your fingers under the hem of his shirt wanting to tease him but also being partially impatient yourself. Surprisingly the article of clothing slipped over Eren's head easily, tangling itself in the cuffs.
Eren bucked up into you and you laughed slightly, now you actually did tease a little. Your fingers inching the straps of your bra off your shoulders before unclasping the thing sliding it the rest of the way off and chucking it off to the side.
You didn't miss the way Eren groaned at your chest now completely bare in front of him. He leaned in latching his mouth to your collarbone layering it with bites and soft kisses. You were much quicker with his pants then you had been with his shirt, unbuttoning and unzipping till you were touching the head of his hard cock.
He let out a moan that caught in his throat as your hand flicked over warm, hard flesh. "You have a really nice dick." You whispered to him. His moans were flooding your ear and you felt yourself tremble.
"If you like.. it so.... much why don't you.. put your mouth on it?" Your hand froze and he leaned back to look at you. "I didn't.." he paused in his speech and you quickly took in his dazed expression as you flop to the floor. Your hands tugginghis pants down as much as possible.
"You won't be needing these anymore." It was way more difficult then you'd realized to slip Eren's pants off but you managed. Had him plopping back down in his seat with his bare cock flush in front of your face.
He took a deep breath opening your throat to swallow his length. Eren gasped his eyes rolling to the back of his head and then shut tight. The breathless pants falling off his lips bouncing off the chipped paint on the walls.
Maybe you should've taken it easier on him. You thought with a smile to yourself.
His hips bucked up into your mouth but you quickly held him down. He was stretching your mouth in a way you kind of enjoyed. Exaggerating the slurping noises as you kept your place slow and relaxed.
"Hnngh please.." Eren begged
You looked up at him. His green eyes were open again, watery but watching every move you made.
"Please what?"
"The fucking cuffs." He grunted, eyebrows etched together.
You reached for the base of his cock flicking your wrist faster a little faster. "Why?" You lapped at his tip. "You wanna grip my hair?"
"Badly." He gasped
"Wanna use my throat?"
"Yessss." His eyes were dangerous in the currently dim lights.
"Wanna slap me with your cock?"
"And cum on your face." He finished
You thought for a second before returning to sucking his cock. His body shook and you watched his expression tense up again.
A copious amount of curses fell of his lips and he gasped, cock twitching on your tongue. It was hard not to smile especially when Eren's jaw dropped open to an almost choked grunt.
You decided to stop playing with him at least a little bit. Speeding up your mouth, cheeks hollowing around him. If all of it wasn't enough already his abs contracting and expanding in front of you were doing way too many bad things to your pussy.
His eyes were completely hazy at this point and so intense. He let out a deep sigh, head lolling as he stared down at you with flushed cheeks.
"I'm almost there.."
Your pause was sudden and you practically ripped your remaining clothes tossing them off. You reached out for Eren's chest, thumbs inching over hard skin then up to his shoulders and down his arms. He leaned into you suddenly capturing your lips with unhinged kisses that quickly had you breathless.
Without any further hesitation you lifted yourself up pressing the tip of Eren's cock against your entrance. His breath came out hot against your face and you both let out a deep sigh as you slowly bottomed out.
Your mouth wasn't the only thing he'd managed to stretch and when you dug your nails into his back he kissed your chin. "Does it hurt, Y/N?"
You chuckled a little breathless. "Oh, so you do remember my name."
"How could I forget the name I'm gonna be groaning tonight?"
You carefully brought your fingers down to your clit indulging in the way his cock brushed over your g-spot. You felt Eren's thighs spread and your stomach curled in appreciation when he began to meet your thrusts.
"Shit Eren.."
His bottom lip tucked itself under his teeth and you brought one of your hands up to coax aside the hairs against his forehead. You dropped your hips a little faster sucking in a breath at the sensation coursing through your hips.
His name fell off your lips and his shoulders tensed as you used them for leverage. Eren groaned his breath catching and you pulled him closer swallowing every sound from his lips.
Sweat clouded your forehead, sticking to the little strands of hair on your head. Toes curled and clenched in your black boots. And you bit your tongue trying to control the moans spilling off your lips as they grew in volume.
You felt your thighs quiver and your head fell back. The sounds of yours and Eren's skin slapping along with the mixed sounds of both of your pleasure filling the room.
"Ugghh.. don't squeeze.." Eren begged, mouth hung open, eyes darkened over.
You would've laughed if you weren't close to cumming and you could tell Eren was right there with you.
It shocked you how fast Eren managed to capture your lips again. "I'm soo close.." He mumbled against your kiss swollen lips. "Soo cloosee.. f-fu- I'm cumming.."
You sped up Eren's hips working themselves a little faster. It was hard to hide the loud gasp that slipped from your throat when he came. His eyes squeezing shut, long moan flooding from his lips as he leaned in emptying inside you.
"Mm I'm almost there too.."
"Finish, come on.." He whispered, surprisingly still completely there after his orgasm.
The finger on your clit circled a little faster and you rocked your hips a little more till you shook in his lap. You squealed teeth nearly biting into his shoulder as your hips momentarily twitched. You rode out your orgasm, head back and eyes closed.
Eren groaned, your nails digging into his back. "Ohh fuck Eren.." You sighed, working to catch your breath.
You held onto him for a couple seconds completely still as you caught your breath. Not sure what you were expecting to see when you looked up at Eren again but his eyes were filled with a sort of hunger. And the next thing you knew your back was hitting the floor and he was on top of you.
"I'm starting to think you're not taking the cuffs off cause you're nervous." Eren's hot breath fanned your face. "Don't worry though."
When he leaned in you felt your pulse quicken. Your hands creeping up his back to his hair digging into his scalp. He groaned against your lips, the tip of his cock nudging your entrance. You reached down with a breathless sigh but he yanked himself back before you could touch him.
He allowed himself one more kiss then he was inching backwards, his knees heavy on the cold floor. "I'll be gentle."
The small flick of his tongue against your sex was nervous almost and sweet. Forcing you to beg your hips to stay still. He moved in a little closer, tongue flat over your lips, hole and clit. You hand flashed forward gripping his hair almost too tightly.
The floor was cold but you barely noticed. Your whole focus turning to the heat resurfacing in your stomach. Eren's name fell from your lips over and over as his tongue circled and massaged the bundle of nerves between your lower lips.
The simultaneously heat and cold making your thighs shake uncontrollably. You could feel every curve of his lips, every breath and every noise that exited his throat it all vibrated off your sensitive core.
The texture of his tongue against yours was nothing compared to the fire he was starting between your legs. He pressed forward, lips wrapping around your clit before working his way back down to your hole.
The mix of your juices and his cum all being lapped up, wetting his soft pink lips. You were barely holding your voice back now but you couldn't even pretend you cared when he was roughly pressing his tongue in and out of your still sensitive hole.
You begged. For what you didn't know but you felt that familiar coil unlatching. That same intensity from earlier back with a vengeance. Your pleasure falling off your lips from your hoarse throat.
You felt Eren's smirk and his tongue flicked your oversensitive clit till you were sure you were red in the face. Back arched off the floor followed by a scream you couldn't begin to muffle. When you came it sprayed Eren's face and the floor but you were too busy trying to catch your breath to really take it in.
That is until Eren sat up. His face dripping with your cum. Tongue darting over it with a smirk that made your head spin. With shakey legs you stood quickly grabbing the key that had been lodged in your back pocket.
"You'd better not run from me." You whispered. You made quick work of the cuffs as they were soon clattering to the ground.
Eren's hands came down roughly on your ribs. He shoved his cock in so fast you could barely gasp. "Run from your tight pussy? How stupid do I look to you?"
He didn't hesitate to pull his dick out to its tip quickly ramming it back inside. His hands fastened under both your knees pressing them into the ground as he continued assaulting your pussy.
You could already feel your stomach tensing, his breath hot in your ear. Toes curling at your name rolling off his tongue over and over again almost unheard over your gasps and the slick sound of your skin slapping together.
The way he was sucking at the spot behind your ears and on your neck was definitely going to be unexplainable but it was impossible to think right now. Your nails finding purchase against the back of his neck clawing over smooth skin.
One of his hands came up from your surely bruised thigh to harshly grab at your breast. The action forcing a loud moan from your throat. Giving it a little smack he slammed into your pussy halting for a second before yanking you closer by both legs.
"Where.. do you want my.. cum?" The question threw you and you felt yourself clench around him.
"H-huh.."
You could swear you heard him snicker. His tongue lashed over your eardrum and you nearly flinched. "Tell me.. where you want.... my cum." He continued his voice husky.
You let out a soft cry, head leaning back as his tip rammed your spot full force. His thumb rough where it stroked your clit. You heard him grunt, without looking you knew his eyes were shut tight. His name fell off your lips in a long moan.
He was gripping you so tight that his finger prints were probably etched into your skin.
"M-my ch-chest.." You cried, head completely empty. "Pl-ease.."
Your voice was almost completely lost but Eren was pulling out. His dick being pumped quickly and in only a few seconds ropes of white cum were splattering over your chest. The last of Eren's moans dissolving away into heavy huffs.
Soon enough he was bringing you to another orgasm as his cum slid against your clenching stomach. You head falling back and your hands fisting around nothing as you came.
He let go of your body and you dipped your finger into a bit of his dripping cum bringing it to your mouth as he watched. The way he sucked in his breath was cute and you teasingly wiggled your hips.
"I wanted to see how it tasted." You remarked innocently.
He let out a breathless chuckle indulging you in one quick peck before looking around at the mess you two had made.
"Good luck explaining this, and those tomorrow." He said, gesturing to the already forming red marks on your skin and the smashed chair leg.
"That will be easy." You smiled deviously
"How so?"
"I have my ways."

Standing in the Ashes
Angel on Fire part 2
John Shelby x reader
Word count: 3,214
Warnings: They're criminals, guys, they do bad things.
Tumblr media
You fell into a comfortable silence next to John. His presence was an anchor in the crowded room and it annoyed you to realize it. You sipped your second drink, knowing that you wanted to stay a steady tipsy rather than belligerent. In all honesty, you would have preferred not to drink at all but choosing not to drink caused too many questions. Your nerves could not take it today.
John sat beside you, you both watching the other from the corner of your eye until you had Harry top off your glass. You looked over to John and tilted your head as you raised your glass.
"Been a pleasure," you said as he took a drink from his glass. "But I do believe I have some men to bait and your brother and Isaiah to entertain."
"I doubt there'd be an argument if you stayed sat with me."
You faltered, mouth open as the words swam in your head.
"You're kind, but the silence can't be that entertaining," you stammered. "I'm sure you have business or a missus to get back to. Finn talks about his wild nieces and nephew."
John's eyes softened and he tilted his glass in his hand, watching the whiskey roll about.
"Martha," he said loud enough to carry but only that, "she passed years ago. It's just me, the maid and my children."
"Oh," you dropped your eyes, "I'm sorry."
You weighed in your mind what to say next when his sad eyes flickered and he smiled.
"You can do what you want, (Y/N), I won't stop you," he said as he leaned back. "But my life is fuckin' screaming and chaos, so don't think I can't appreciate two people sitting in comfortable quiet."
You nodded as your lip curled up in a half smile. You gathered your drink, John offering you a quick nod before you disappeared into the fray.
The next hour or two you nursed your drink as you flirted and brought men to the boys, dropping them at the table for a transaction like a dog with a dove. When you sent about a half dozen to Isaiah's friendly and knowing smile, you decided you had done enough and took your seat back at the table.
"Decided to take the night off to snog Michael?" You shot at your friend, who hadn't moved from under Michael's arm all night.
"Don't be jealous, (Y/N)," Isaiah said loudly as he wrapped his arm around you before he pushed his nose through your hair to your ear. "You know they'll tire of each other in a week. Give it time."
You hated getting testy with her but she did this every time. She'd find a boy -- this time none other than Michael Gray -- and she'd lose herself and your friendship as she batted her eyelashes. And a few weeks later when she became bored or he did, she'd come back and be your best friend again. You'd grown frustrated with the cycle. Was she really a best friend if she forgot you so easily?
Just another reason the night scene made you so tired. As much as you adored Isaiah and Finn, none of them were around until the sun went down. No one visited or asked to spend your lunch with you. You only ever saw them under the promise of whiskey and snow and you had grown bored of both.
"Everyone that's not a Shelby or fucking a Shelby, get out of my bar!" Harry bellowed as he whipped a towel above his head to get everyone's attention. "That includes the young Peakys in the corner!"
"Harry I'm a fuckin' Shelby!" Finn yelled back with a laugh, his arms wide.
"When you get hair on your balls, you can stay like your brothers. Til then, out!"
The boys booed as they laughed and finished their drinks, slamming the glasses on the table. You froze as you felt hands wrap around the back of your chair and warm arms touch your back.
"You lot not ready to pack it in?" The familiar voice said behind you. "Tell you what, if you can talk Harry out of a bottle, you can use my kitchen to wind down. Play a round of cards, drink, whatever."
Finn squinted up at his brother from your side as you fought yourself from doing the same. You felt heated with him so close to you. Agitated by his nonchalance at pushing himself into your space.
"You've never offered before," Finn said. "Why now?"
You felt his arms move up against your back as you circled the rim of your glass with your finger.
"Kids are a bit older and your ruckus won't wake them anymore," John said as he leaned down around you to come face to face with his brother. "Pretty sure you could bomb the house and they wouldn't stir. But if you'd rather go sit on a bridge in the cold"
"A bridge," your friend said as she crinkled her nose at the very thought and leaned further into Michael and whined. "It's so cold out, Michael."
"Then it's settled," Isaiah grinned. "We'll head over to your place, John. Thank you."
"What about you, (Y/N)?" John said, his breath hitting the top of your head. "You haven't said a word."
You shifted in your seat as everyone eyed you. You could still feel John's breath in your hair.
"I do have to work in the morning," you started, earning a groan around the table. "But I suppose I can go for a little bit. I really should be home before dawn, though."
"Relax," Isaiah said as he bumped your shoulder with his and winked. "I'll take you home when you're ready. Get you all tucked in proper for that job of yours in the morning."
You snorted a laugh as you rolled your eyes at him.
"Right," John cleared his throat as he let go of your chair. "I'll see you lot soon, then."
You felt the pressure leave and it made you feel a little colder.
----
You all sat around a small table, passing the bottle around as the boys played some sort of card game. Everyone was too drunk or tired for actual rules, so the game kept changing as it went.
John's kitchen was nice enough. It was mostly clean and had little remnants of the children, a colored wall here, a high chair there. It felt honey with it's white washed walls and cozy atmosphere. You were all just able to fit, a small walkway around the table to be able to access the rest of the house.
John had immediately left once you were all situated, telling Finn to lock up when you were all done. You would be lying if you said you weren't a bit disappointed. Conversation with John was at least tolerable. You settled in, realizing you'd be subjected to more bravado, yelling, and stories of conquest rather than a decent conversation and actual thought.
The boys had drunk about half of the bottle when the room was a loud roar. Finn and Isaiah kept knocking into you, teasing and taunting, as Michael and your friend got closer and closer into their own world across the table. The loud noises and the constant knocking about had set your teeth on edge. You needed away. You stood up and shot a look at your friend.
"I need to use the bathroom," you said pointedly as she tucked into Michael's side.
"So go, then," Michael chortled. "You need an escort?"
You glared at him before looking back at your friend, who wouldn't meet your eye. You sighed.
"Some friend you are," you mumbled as you rolled your eyes and left to go find the bathroom.
It wasn't as hard as you had thought, thankfully. Bedroom doors were closed for the night and the house was covered in toys but otherwise easily figured out.
You went into the bathroom and flicked on a light, looking at your tired eyes in the mirror. No one else seemed to notice the bags under your eyes as of late. To you they shone so clearly, but no one mentioned them once. You shut and locked the door before you closed the toilet lid and sat on it, head in your hands. The roar of your friends was muffled, and for once you felt relief. Quiet.
You splashed your face with cool water, taking one last look in the mirror at your haunted eyes, and walked out only to run into something. Or someone. You looked down to see a small girl in a large white nightgown frowning at you.
"Who are you?" She said groggily as she wiped at her blue eyes.
"Oh!" You stepped aside. "I'm sorry. I'm (Y/N), your um, uncle Finn's friend."
"I'm Katie," she said slowly, eyeing you closely. "Didn't know daddy had comp'ny."
"We're all in the kitchen," you offered as your hands started to fidget. "Did you need the bathroom? Or your dad?"
"I just wanted water," she said as she pointed to the bathroom. "I can get it myself."
"Right," you said as you stepped around her. "Well it was nice to meet you, Katie, I'll get back to the rest now. Sleep well."
"Goodnight Miss (Y/N)," you heard Katie's small voice say behind you as you walked away.
"Goodnight," you said over your shoulder as you disappeared back to the kitchen.
You had known there were kids there, but it didn't occur to you that you could be bothering their sleep. Guilt washed over you as you returned to the kitchen where the noise was a booming roar.
"I want to go home," you crossed your arms as you reached the table. "It's nearly morning and I'd like to sleep. Some of us have work during daylight hours."
"So go," Michael said from behind his cards. "I'll make sure your friend gets home."
"You lot want me to walk home, in the dark, by myself?" You growled.
You looked to each one, your friend hiding her face in the crook of a smirking Michael's arm. Finn and Isaiah both were scratching their heads, staring hard at their cards. For once, the kitchen was silent.
"Fine," you gritted through your teeth. "Some friends you are."
"Oh don't be like that, love," Isaiah said as he grabbed for your wrist. "We're not ready to end the night, that's all. Tell you what, you go snooze on the couch and when we're done I'll come walk you home."
"How generous," you snapped as you twisted your wrist from his grip. "I'll take my chances on the streets. A few hours in my bed before work sounds better than a couch next to a party of loud idiots."
You heard them call to you as you stormed out and slammed the door, but you didn't stop until you were a few steps from the garden gate. The iron gate had been carelessly left open against the short stone walls. You looked at the ivy creeping along the stones as you took a breath and hugged yourself, realizing you had left your coat inside. Your breath formed a cloud in front of you but you frowned when you realized a different cloud was coming from the other side of the stone.
"Do you normally smoke outside of your garden in the wee hours of the morning?" You scowled as you rounded the corner to see John leaning against the wall, one arm wrapped around a propped leg as his hand pulled a cigar from his lips as the other leg lay flat against the ground.
John blew the smoke under the crook of his arm before looking back up at you with his boyish smile.
"Well hello again, beautiful," John eased. "Why, hoping to catch me alone?"
You felt the rush of heat to your face as you looked down and bit your lip for a moment, trying to compose yourself. You finally looked back to him, tapping his foot with your boot.
"No, I was just heading home," you said. "You're avoiding the question, though."
"Maybe I was," he said, sitting up straighter and tapping the ground beside him until you sat. "I figured a house full of kids would alert me if my children decided to come join them. Decided to take the free alarm system for what it was and enjoy a few quiet minutes to myself."
"I shouldn't bother you, then," you said, moving to get back up.
John's arm wrapped around you, rubbing the goosebumps on your shoulder as he pulled the smoke into his mouth.
"I can be myself with you here," he murmured around the cigar. "I'm not the only one that craves quiet."
You started to protest but instead settled under his arm. You watched as the cherry burned bright, illuminated his face in the dark before he pulled the cigar away and let the smoke roll from his mouth, always careful to blow it away from you. You hesitantly reached for the cigar as John went to bring it back up to his lips. He let you take it. You brought the damp end to your lips and puffed lightly.
"Don't breathe in too hard, pet," he chuckled. "It's not a cigarette. You just roll the smoke in your mouth rather than inhale."
You smiled as you handed it back to him before you exhaled.
"I know," you said with the last of the smoke. "Pa used to smoke cigars. He said he only had one on good days, which usually meant a holiday. Pretty sure that's the same kind. I'd know that smell anywhere."
"Your Pa has good taste," John said. "Should have known that by one look at you."
You faltered, unsure what to say to him. You weren't used to the compliments, especially when they weren't paired with a hand grabbing at your skirts. John sounded genuine and it confused you rather than flattered you.
John cleared his throat as he looked around the wall to look back at his door.
"Where's my idiot brother or Isaiah with your coat to walk you home?" John turned back to you as the shadows danced across his face to enhance his knotted brows. "I figured one of them would have been out by now."
"No one's coming for me," you stammered as you moved to stand up. "I forgot my coat when I stormed out."
"You're not walking home alone," John scoffed as he stood with you. "I'll take you if the idiots inside won't."
"You really don't have to," you said shyly. "I wouldn't trust them in your house by themselves, honestly."
You both chuckled.
"Yeah?" John laughed as he put the cigar out on the wall and laid it on the stone. "Probably shouldn't. Finn would just as easily set the place on fire boiling a pot of water."
"I'm taking you home," John said, more serious this time. "I'll go get your coat."
"No," you said quickly as you grabbed his hand before he could step away. "I just…" you let go of his hand as he turned back to you, "I'd rather not have you go after my coat like I tattled. I'm sure they'll pick it up when they leave. I'll grab it from them later."
John sighed, annoyance rattling through his teeth.
"Fine," he said, "but we're taking the car if you have no coat."
"You really don't have to--"
"I do and I am," John said firmly as he took your elbow to lead you around the corner to the garage.
He opened the passenger door for you and you silently slipped inside, rubbing your arm to rid yourself from the goosebumps as he climbed inside the driver's side.
"Thank you," you said quietly as he started the car and made his way down the street.
"You're not a bother, you know?" John chuckled, eyes on the road. "You're so damn polite and you ask for so little, yet you're so surprised if you get it. Just relax. I'm not sure what you're expecting but it ain't me."
You shuffled in your seat, shoving your hands between your legs to warm your fingertips. John frowned over at you, taking your hand in his.
"You're right frozen, aren't you?" He said as he pulled your fingers to his mouth and exhaled warm air on them, leaving a different kind of goosebumps to cover your skin. "Here, hold on."
He slowed the car to a crawl and let you go, wiggling himself out of his coat to hand you the warm wool.
"Oh, I--"
"Just take the damn thing and warm up, yeah?" He said. "How are you this stubborn for help? I've already told you I'm not out to stop you."
"What are you out for?" You said, surprise caught in your throat. You hadn't expected to be able to actually say it. John sighed, tired rather than annoyed.
"I've seen you, (Y/N)," he said, glancing at you as you put on his coat before looking back at the road. "You used to enjoy all this. The tokyo. The alcohol. The long nights. You spun in circles like a top. Now you still spin, but the smile is fake. You've put on a mask."
You froze, your head swimming with thoughts. He noticed? He cared?
"So?"
"So I want to know why," John exhaled. "I want to know you. We aren't that different."
"We aren't?"
"No."
The rest of the ride was silent. John puttered the car down city streets until he reached your flat. You never asked how he knew where it was.
Peaky business, you thought. They know everything.
When he stopped at your curb, you moved to get out of his coat but he waved you off.
"Keep it for the night," John smiled. "I'll trade you for yours another day."
"Thank you, John," you said softly before you turned and got out of the car.
You were halfway up your steps before you heard a car door open and steps thudding toward you. You stopped and turned around to meet John eye to eye.
He had pulled a toothpick out and started biting on it as he smiled at you. You waited in silence as he bounced on the balls of his feet.
"Um," John said as he looked to his feet and back up at you. "Can I take you somewhere?"
"Where?" You cocked your head, amused by his sudden shyness.
"Well it's a surprise but," he sucked in his cheek, "you said you're working tomorrow, yeah? When's your next day off? We can make a day of it. Or an afternoon, if you'd rather."
"I guess I'm off Saturday," you said slowly. "But I'm usually selling nights on weekends."
"Don't worry about that," John said. "The boys give you trouble, tell 'em I got another job for you. It'll keep 'em off your back. You hate it, I'll bring you home and you can go sell or anything you want. Take a night in, even."
"We can leave anytime I want?" You ask skeptically, watching John's easy smile as he lifted his hands up.
"Blinder's honor."

Meant To Be || One For Every Billion
8. Fan Behaviour
Your impromptu group has slowly made way through the long street of vendors over the last hour, sampling different treats and picking up small trinkets and mementos of the festival.
It's been pretty exhilarating not only with the exuberant energy of the younger girls with whom Akari somehow seems to blend right into, but also the odd tension between you and Suna. He's mostly stayed by your side as you stroll behind the others, his watchful eye on his sister and her friends but you've also caught his discerning stare aimed your way many times as well.
In as little as sixty minutes, that's quite a lot of time to make eye contact with a silent and seemingly immovable companion for the night. You don't let his demeanor throw you off, however, and continue on, immovable in your own way. Which means you say what comes to mind but don't follow the urge to stumble or yammer to fill any quiet gaps in conversation.
Somehow, it works and instead of being awkward and uncomfortable, you find myself at an odd peace, even with the feeling in the air as if you're at a precipice.
You haven't felt this level of comfort and familiarity with someone since... well, since Toru, you suppose. At the thought, a prickle rushes over your skin but you shouldn't have anything to feel bad about. You're in no way committed to anyone and you're sure nothing will happen here, regardless.
"Sorry," You look over at Suna's quiet intervention to your thoughts, "I don't have a jacket on me."
You raise an eyebrow before realizing you must have shivered outwardly at your last thought, hm, you really are letting your guard down to have let a physical reaction slip through. And he really is as perceptive as you first thought to have noticed that small movement.
Looking over at his own simple yukata that suits him incredibly well, you feel the corner of your lip lift before replying, "No, but it's so worth it."
He flicks another one of those sideways looks at you, chin lifted slightly and face angled so you can't read too much of it, "Yeah? Like what you see?"
"Oh yeah." You bite down on your lip to stop your smile from breaking into a flirty grin. You really cannot stress how incredible attractive his laid back confidence is to you.
A small smile of his own breaks through and you catch it before he turns his face away to the stalls on his right. When he looks back, it's gone as if it never happened but there's a look in his eyes that makes you feel almost breathless.
You think you actually do lose your breath when he smirks and casually adds, "Me too."
"Y/n-chan! Rin-onii!" You don't get a chance to respond as Rika bounces back to you both, "We're at the end, but Akari-chan found us a perfect place for the best view for the fireworks!"
"Then lead on, brat." Suna huffs out in mock annoyance. Yeah, you've been getting slightly better at reading him over the past hour. It's a gift.
The two of you follow behind them again, heading towards one of the bridges over the river beyond the street you were just on. There are glowing paper lanterns floating in the water below, lazily passing underneath and by in groups across the length of the bridge. Strung up above you all and reflecting in the dark water are similar lanterns, casting a warm glow over your group's chosen little corner with only a few people some distance away from you all.
Even if the view of the fireworks isn't all that great from here, which you're not sure about since you don't know quite where they've been set up, this ambience is enough to make this a perfect place to rest. Suna leans his back against the railing, right beside where you've chosen to lean forward facing the other way, with your forearms resting on the wrought iron as you survey the lanterns that are carried away.
"Do you game?"
You jerk your head up at his random question, looking up at him where he's got his classic side gaze trained on you. Hm, maybe not so random as probing. You answer just as succinctly as he asked his question, "I do."
"Okay." Another smile tugs at his mouth, you're sure he knows you're being stubborn. "Your voice..."
He's baiting you but what exquisite temptation, you can't help but ask, "What about it?"
"It sounds so..." He trails off, as if lost in thought but you think he's just torturing you for your sass earlier.
You're usually patient, you swear, but.. "Suna." but, you're starting to think his patience might just outweigh yours.
"Familiar." His eyes meet yours again as soon as the word leaves his lips and you're called back to the moments you were thinking that being around him felt familiar too.
But that's not what he means is it? You wait for him to speak again and when he does, even though you're expecting his next implication, you're somehow still both surprised and flattered, "I really like your channel."
"You watch GameOverGirls?" Yeah, that's literal disbelief in your voice. You know you and Vee have a lot of followers on the channel the two of you started back in the fall, especially thanks to both your fans from other clubs and activities, but here in Japan? At least any family you have hear that know about it would make sense, they know you from the first degree. But how would Suna Rintaro have found you already?
He shrugs casually, expression unreadable when he answers, "I like your voice. And you actually know what you're talking about." Then, with a smirk, "The streams aren't too bad either."
You don't even know where to start. The audacity of this pretty boy. Now you're flattered, flustered, and somehow offended at the same time. "When did you figure it out?"
"Just now."
"Seriously?"
"I couldn't place it at first. But then I just did."
"Huh."
"Pretty sure this is where you say thank you."
"For what? Entertaining you?" You pretend to yawn with a hand to your lips and a roll of your eyes, "Talk about fan behaviour."
He tilts his head back fully to study the sky, "Guess I can't deny it, huh?"
With a laugh, you mirror his stance, turning around to lean back against the railing and tilting your head up to survey the stars. After a pause, you give him an opening, "Unless you think you can do better?"
"Well, I could have cut some serious time on that run through of Sekiro. And yeah, I'd be the one carrying you through Warzone." He pretends to grimace and you smack his arm in retaliation.
"Please, squad up and let's see who carries who."
"Okay, bet."
You're about to turn to look over at him to see if he's serious or not about his offer to join your party sometime when something streaks over the sky. You've been expecting the fireworks but when you realize what it is, you suddenly reach out to his arm with one hand and point with the other, excitedly exclaiming, "Oh my god, Suna, a shooting star! Make wish, quick!"
Then you're watching its briefly brilliant light slowly disappear, scrambling to think of your own wish without realizing you're already making one by wishing that you could enjoy more moments like this. It takes you a little bit to realize you're still lightly holding Suna's wrist and he hasn't said anything.
After another beat, once the star has completely disappeared, your eyes slip back over to meet his only to realize he's already been watching you. You're compelled to break the building tension and choose to ask, "Did you make a wish?"
The serious, piercing look in his eyes holds you in a trance as he replies, "I did."
Light blooms across his face just as he answers, sharp, bright bursts accompanied by loud booms and pops, but you can't tear your gaze away from his own immovable, captivating gaze. It's better this way, the reflection in his eyes as they echo the light cast by the fireworks.
So the two of you stand there watching each other instead of the fireworks, surrounding by the cheering of your group leaning on the railing across from you both, conveniently facing away from you to give the illusion of a private moment. One that belongs just to you and Suna.
x-x-x-x-x
The rest of the night flies by quick as you and Suna are pulled to rejoin the rest of the group shortly after your interesting moment together. You don't know what it means but what you are sure of is that you'll be replaying it over and over in your head later, unable to stop from analyzing such a poignant moment with a guy that was a complete stranger to you just hours before.
Neither of you really have the chance to explore it further either, as you're both pulled this way and that by the others for the rest of the activities. No more breathtaking moments relatively alone together, but you don't mind too much, you have to think it over after all and need a minute to catch your breath in the meantime.
Everyone writes down hopes and wishes on paper lanterns before setting them afloat to join the hundreds of other dreams that float away hopefully to a benign deity. Your group then stops at the shrine, placed at the apex of the location, to offer your respective prayers before returning to loop around to any stalls you missed.
As you're all winding down for the night, Rika asks for your socials and you happily oblige. Suna, on the other hand, manages to slip your phone out of his sister's hand as the two of you are exchanging the devices back and taps at it briefly before handing it back to you. You smirk and mouth 'fan behaviour' when you see he's added his contact info, including his twitter handle.
He just raises an unbothered eyebrow and replies out loud, "Just wait until it's you asking for my autograph. You'll thank me then."
"I won't need to thank you if you're my friend."
"But you'll still need my autograph?" He smirks at you.
You can't help but tease about something you both had discussed earlier, "Didn't you tell me you were scouted to go to school here? I'm sure I'll be wanting your name on a paper someday."
"You'll want my name, huh? At least buy me dinner first."
You blush as you realize how he twisted your words and, for once, you don't have a comeback. So you make a reckless, last ditch effort to act like he didn't just win this round and do the opposite of denying his words, "Sure, Suna Y/n has a nice ring, I guess."
Holy shit. You didn't think anything couldn't completely break his impassive expression but you think you might have accidentally have won this round as you see the shock roll his expression right before the red of a full blush sneaks up to kiss his cheeks and tips of his ears.
His surprised eyes are wide on yours as if he's frozen solid by your words before he blinks and then it's like a shutter as he recollects himself and suddenly he's completely unreadable again. But you saw it, that moment that Suna Rintaro was completely caught unaware and absolutely flustered.
You both know who won, though somehow, he still gets the last word, "Well, that's definitely one way to get a permanent autograph."
The two of you turn and start to move forward to the exit in mutual silence, neither you nor Suna noticing Rika still by you both, having watched your exchange in delighted surprise and gears now turning in her head as she realizes her half baked idea earlier seems to have worked even better than she could have ever imagined.

Behind The Scenes!
-Remember Vee's tweet back in the Falling Into Winter Interlude? Sept 18th (21-09-18 timestamp if you're curious) - she was promoting her and Y/n's gaming channel - GameOverGirls :)
-There was still another hint connection in regards to it back in the same episode
-One that may be one or two degrees of relation as to how Suna found the channel ;)
-He really does like Y/n's voice specifically (even though Vee's got a nice one too but he's barely noticed lol), long before he saw the pretty face to match :D
-Y/n and Vee only suffered through Sekiro on a bet from Key and Tee
-Suna realized it was crazy since he just met Y/n tonight but... he kind of liked how his name sounded with hers..
A/N: Seriously, why is everything about him so pretty??? His name, looks, voice. Just...why? Anyways, with this episode, I've caught up to where I'm currently at in written segments for this series so updates might be slightly slower than usual until I can pull back ahead. Additional notes - I don't know why but I'd mixed up the pic for Suna's priv with his main so ended up using the same one for both since it was too late by the time I realized. It'll be fixed from here on. Also, clearly, the yukata pic makes him look older but he's still 14, it's more about the visual of him in his simple (but striking) yukata <3 Finally... can we all guess which precious bby boy is next???

**
You weren’t sure you would ever get used to the feeling of Jimin’s absence. It had been just over a month since you’d broken up and it was like a cavern in your chest. You hadn’t had much distraction at first, at least until Lizzy found out.
It had been overwhelming when she found out. She was the type of friend that liked to coddle and you just wanted to forget everything and be alone. Eventually, she found a distraction that worked for you, spending multiple nights a week bringing you dinner and conversation.
Your schedules didn’t always match up but somehow, she always made it work. She’d find you at work and sit with you in the breakroom sharing her hummus and chips. She’d find you outside of the hospital sitting on one of the benches, waiting to be entertained with jokes and lively stories. Or, like tonight, she’d find you at home.
A rare night off for the both of you, Lizzy had come over with takeout and a cheesy romcom from the 90’s you’d already seen one too many times. One more time couldn’t hurt, though.
You’d recently moved to a new apartment and most of your stuff was still in boxes, but you had a beanbag chair and a love seat to enjoy. The sofa had been Jimin’s purchase so you were lacking in a better seating arrangement until you could find time to search for your own couch.
Lizzy stretched lethargically across the arms of the loveseat, takeout pasta dish in her lap as she slurped noisily and you wiggled around in the beanbag chair, trying to find a more comfortable position. “I told you I can take the beanbag!” Lizzy said, turning to look at you and you shook your head, holding your own bowl of pasta to your chest as you readjusted once more.
“No way, you’re my guest, Liz.”
“I’m your best friend; that hardly counts.” She said, standing from the loveseat and hovering in front of you, “get up.”
“Seriously, I got this.” You insisted and Lizzy frowned, hand going to rest on her jutted hip.
“You look like a beached whale right now. Up, up.”
You huffed, putting your food on the floor beside you and rolling onto your knees with a groan. “Wow, things really are not the same when you’re in your 30’s.” You complained, standing and bending over to grab your food. Lizzy settled into the beanbag with a contented sigh and you resigned yourself to the (far more comfortable) loveseat.
“We need a vacation.” Lizzy announced loudly and you looked over at her while reaching over for your glass of wine on the TV dinner table between the two of you. It was rickety, precarious with age; as old as your high school diploma. Back before you’d ever even met Jimin or learned how to be delicate with your things.  A quick trip to the thrift store on your way to your first semester of college had deemed you its new owner. Who knows how many had owned it before?
“What made you think that so suddenly?” You questioned.
“To be fair,” she slurped a noodle loudly and you waited, “I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but I’m just now saying it. We’re tired and overworked and I want to sit somewhere on a beach in a bikini that shows off a little bit too much of my cellulite and drink an appletini that makes me feel a little too dizzy and just live my life. You know?”
You smiled, sipping over the rim of your glass and humming. “Maybe your soulmate is on that beach.” You teased and Lizzy’s eyes lit up, leaning forward in the beanbag.
“You’re so right. So where should we go? I’m thinking Mallorca. My sister went there last year and said it was unbelievably gorgeous.”
“Sure, we can go to Mallorca. I can’t do it for a couple months, though. I’ve already taken a few days off for my sister’s wedding so I doubt I could take more time off so soon after.”
Lizzy hummed, taking a sip of her own wine. “That’s right, when’s her wedding again?”
“The 20th of next month.” You sighed, leaning your head back against the headrest of your chair and spacing out on the television.
“You gonna be OK?”
You paused, watching the colors dance across your vision before lifting your head to look at your friend. “What do you mean?”
“You gonna be ok at your sister’s wedding? I know you, Y/N. You act like things are OK when they’re not. Do you want me to go as your plus one?” She’d finished her pasta by now, empty bowl discarded beside her on the floor.
You sighed again, looking back at the television. “What do you want me to say? Jimin absolutely broke me. I’m absolutely not OK, everything hurts and every morning I wake up thinking maybe it’ll be better and it’s just not. I know someday it will be ok, but it was 8 years, you know? Now I get to go sit at my sister’s wedding and watch her marry her soulmate while my own is,” you paused, realizing you had yet to tell your friend about Jungkook. Now was not the time. “Well, anyway. I’m not OK…but I will be.”
“I’m sorry,” Lizzy frowned, twisting her fingers around her glass. “I shouldn’t have asked. For what it’s worth, though, I know you’ll get through it. You’re pretty amazing, you always bounce back and this time will be no different, it just might take a little longer.”
You nodded, heart clenching at the thought of more time. More time to sit and think about Jimin and hurt. Sometimes you wish you could just turn your heart off.
Later, after Lizzy had left home and you’d finished cleaning up your living room, you made your way towards your bedroom, flicking on the lights. There were only a couple boxes left unpacked in here. You’d wanted a sense of normalcy in at least one room so you’d chosen to focus on your bedroom.
Lizzy had come over and helped you hang up the fairy lights across your ceiling. They cast a much softer glow than the actual light in the center of the room and you liked that warm feeling, like a security blanket over your heart.
This apartment was smaller than the last, you couldn’t afford to spend your one paycheck on two extra bedrooms you didn’t need. Instead, you’d stuffed your office supplies inside the smaller second bedroom. Eventually this place would feel like home and it wouldn’t haunt you with memories in every corner. It was blissfully blank.
Ella was coming out for her final dress fitting tomorrow and you’d be joining her for your own. You’d been eating one too many pieces of chocolate recently so you were a little concerned it wouldn’t fit quite right, but maybe if you sucked in enough it would work out.
You sat on the side of your tub, brushing your teeth languidly as you thought. Apartments were eerily quiet when you lived in them alone. Granted, you lived on the top floor all the way at the end so you really only had to worry about one wall, and that neighbor was apparently some kind of producer, so he was never there.
You missed the noise of another person, though. The thought overwhelmed you suddenly, the vast emptiness of it all and your eyes stung as they filled with tears. Crying with toothpaste slathered all over your mouth was not the look you were going for so you quickly rinsed out your mouth before sitting back on the edge of the tub.
You knew you were still young, still had time, but it honestly felt like a ticking time bomb. You weren’t getting any younger, already close to turning 31 and you felt like your dreams of the future you had were slipping from between your fingertips.
Your dreams with Jimin were gone, like ash in the wind. That you would have to let go of…but to be in love, to be a mother…those were difficult pills to swallow. Tonight, like many other nights before, you wondered what would have happened if Jungkook hadn’t turned you down. Would you be in love? Would you be married and have children?
You supposed it was silly to wonder if you’d be in love, you’d never seen the universe pair people up incorrectly, even if it seemed like maybe it had at first. Jimin said he’d had a couple of soulmates in his office before, but you’d never seen it yourself and you just wondered if that was just that those individuals were unwilling to work with anyone.
If you and Jungkook had given each other a chance…well, maybe you could have been magical. It was futile to still think about it, even though he was back in your life. There was no way of really knowing if that was something he even wanted. Sure, he’d seemed apologetic and like he wanted to make amends…but perhaps that was just to satiate his guilt, or maybe he felt sorry about losing your friendship or perhaps you were only a backup plan, in case he couldn’t find anyone else better.
You scoffed, standing from the edge of the tub and rinsing off your toothbrush before flipping off the bathroom lights and heading back into your bedroom. You wiped at your cheeks, willing yourself to stop crying. It didn’t help anything to mope and it certainly didn’t help to imagine things you couldn’t possibly know.
You slipped under the covers, pulling them up to your chin and staring out into the dark across your mattress, feeling far emptier than it had in a long time. It may have been foolish to imagine all those things, but no one ever communicated that to your heart and she loved to mourn what she’d never even had.
 **
It was the perfect day to wear a sundress. You’d shaved your legs, scrubbed your face from any puffiness from crying and were now sat outside a nearby café waiting for Ella and your mom to arrive. Late summer was beautiful and you let the sun warm your legs as you sought shelter under your table’s umbrella, running your fingers across the metal of the chair.
You were tired this morning. Negative thoughts had kept you awake for most of the night, but with a dress appointment and work later tonight, you wouldn’t have much of an opportunity to make up for it.
Across the street you saw your mom’s car pull into a parking spot and you waved as she and your sister both stepped from the car, scanning the sidewalk for you. They smiled, waving back, before making their way to the crosswalk and you waited patiently.
“Sweetheart!” Your mom called and you stood, reaching out to hug her as they got closer.
She held you close, a little too tight and warm for the weather, but you sunk into the embrace. She only lived an hour away, but you hadn’t seen her much recently and with everything going on, you were exhausted and just needed to hug your mom.
“How are you?” She asked, standing back and rubbing her thumb across your cheek. “You look tired.”
You smiled, soft, shaking your head at her. “I’m ok. Didn’t sleep well last night. Morning, Ella!”
Ella squealed, flinging her arms out for a hug and you chuckled as she embraced you. “I’m so excited! It’s almost here!”
“I know,” you agreed, “I can hardly believe it. Feels like just yesterday we were little kids and you were stealing all my clothes.”
Ella chuckled, grabbing your hand and leading you back towards the table. She took her seat across from you with your mother in the middle and set her purse delicately in her lap before replying. “Well, now you’re always dressed in scrubs. I think it’s safe to say my fashion sense is better than yours.”
You smiled, shrugging, “I don’t know, this dress is pretty cute.”
“True.” Ella admitted, “You live too far to steal from now, though.”
“Remind me when you’re coming back home again?” Your mother asked, perusing the menu and you picked up your own to start looking.
“The day before the wedding. It’s pretty hard to get more time off right now.”
“I can’t believe you’re going to miss my bachelorette party.” Ella pouted, sipping at the water the waiter dropped off.
“I know,” you sighed, closing your menu. You’d been to this place a few times and always got the same thing; you weren’t sure why you kept checking the menu as if something would have changed. “I really wanted to go, but they’ll already be down an anesthesiologist that week so they really can’t afford to let me go for too long.”
“Are you ladies ready to order?” Your server asked, pen and paper ready and after you’d ordered and handed over your menu’s, conversation resumed.
“So, what’s dad doing right now? Laying around in his boxers?” You asked and your mother laughed.
“Most likely.”
“Gross.” Ella scoffed and your mother poked her in the side.
“Hey now, I happen to really enjoy that view.”
“Double gross!” Ella complained and you sipped at your lemonade. It was nice being with your family again, even though your father was currently not here. It had been months since you’d seen them all together, months since you’d had enough time saved up to take off and drive home for a few days. You were trying to get as much guided experience as you could while you still had someone supervising your every move. Taking extra time off just wasn’t reasonable right now.
“Is Michael at work today?” You asked, watching as your sister thanked the waiter and sipped at the martini he’d just brandished.
“Yeah, I didn’t want him here anyway. It’s bad luck to see the bride in her dress before the wedding. I don’t need any bad juju on my special day.”
“You don’t really believe in that stuff, do you?” Your mother teased and Ella nodded earnestly.
“Totally! I’ve got my apartment all set up to invite positive feng shui in and I do yoga every morning and night. It’s really brought a lot of clarity to my mind.”
“I should probably do some yoga.” You mused, staring off across the street at nothing in particular. “Could use some relaxation.”
“Maybe a massage would be better,” your mom grinned, “last time I tried yoga, I pulled a hamstring.”
“Well, you obviously weren’t doing it right.” Ella huffed, “It’s meant to center your mind, not hurt you.”
“Tell that to the high lunge.” She giggled.
**
The dress shop was beautifully air conditioned. You could feel a bead of sweat sink into your bra and you grimaced. Ella looked like she’d walked straight into heaven, the lady at the door greeting the three of you with water bottles and a smile.
You took the proffered bottle from its tray, gulping half of it down before following after the woman in charge of your sisters dress alterations. She rambled on excitedly about the recent finishing touches to your dresses and you nodded as though you were listening, walking into the backroom where small changing rooms were draped in white curtains for privacy.
“Your dress is just over here.” She directed, showing Ella to the large bridal room and Ella followed after with a squeal of delight. Her dress was draped elegantly over the bodice of a mannequin that honestly did the lace no justice and you watched your sister flit like a bird around every side to inspect the work.
“Your beading is so exquisite, Darcy.” She cried warmly and the seamstress hummed happily.
“Let’s try it on, shall we?”
Ella nodded enthusiastically, dropping her (most likely expensive) purse unceremoniously on the floor and beginning to strip from her clothing. Darcy chuckled, closing the draping quickly so your sister could get ready in privacy.
Both your mother and yourself sat on a bench against the wall opposite and chatted softly while you waited; listening to the little gasps and squeaks of your sister as she was fastened into her gown.
“Oh, it’s beautiful!” She called over the top of the curtain and your mother shouted out her enthusiasm to see it.
Darcy pulled back the curtain and your mother gasped, running to meet your sister where she stood on a pedestal looking like a princess. “You look so beautiful!” She said, already teary eyed and you walked to meet them with a smile, rubbing the soft lace of your sister’s dress gently between the tips of your fingers.
“You look like a princess.” You agreed and Ella beamed.
“It’s perfect.” She sighed, twirling the skirt and eyeing herself in the mirror. “I feel like I’m living in a fairytale.”
“Let’s get you ladies in your dresses as well and see if we need to do anymore tune ups.” Darcy said and both you and your mother walked to your own dressing rooms to be helped into your dresses. Your dress was a lavender floor length with off the shoulder sleeves and it made you feel unreasonably beautiful.
“You look gorgeous.” Ella whispered and you turned to find her behind you, surveying the fabric of your dress. “If I didn’t know that Michael was so obsessed with me I’d be concerned.”
You chuckled, shaking your head at her. “Don’t be ridiculous. No one will even know I’m in the room if you’re there. You look gorgeous; Michael is gonna die.”
“Do you think it fits me well?” She murmured and you smiled, nodding.
“Like a glove.”
“Look at my girls.” Your mother crowed, walking towards you in a dress like your own. “You both look so beautiful.”
“We get it from our mom.” Ella teased and your mother laughed.
“And don’t you forget it!”
“How do your dresses feel?” Darcy asked, approaching your circle. “Any modifications?” She pinched at the fabric of your dress as she surveyed the fit and you allowed her to manhandle you.
“Actually, my dress feels like it fits perfectly, as long as I don’t gain any weight.” You smoothed your fingers down the silk idly.
Darcy moved on to the other two dresses, pinching and surveying as she went and you twisted in the mirror to see the back of the dress.
“You said you work later tonight, right?” Ella asked as she was led back to her own dressing room and you followed.
“Yeah, I work at 5pm. I’ll have to leave as soon as we’re done with this fitting.”
Darcy waved one of the other attendings over, “Can you assess her dress? She’s running on a time limit.”
The woman nodded, ushering you back to your own dressing room and you stood up on the little stool in the center so that she could go over the details of your dress one final time before the wedding.
“So you’ve got somewhere to be soon?” She asked casually, sitting down beside the end of your dress with a pin between her teeth.
“Ah, yeah, I’ve got work later. I’m an anesthesiologist at the hospital.”
“You must be very busy,” She hummed and you nodded, watching her work.
“Yeah, I mean, it can definitely get crazy sometimes. I guess we’ll see how everything goes tonight.” You mused.
“I’m rooting for you.” She smiled up at you.
**
It wasn’t very often that the hospital was still. It was eerie in its solitude. Empty hallways, the nurse’s station busy with conversation. You were back in the maternity ward this evening. Not many rooms were occupied tonight; no babies ready to be born. You had one caesarean scheduled in two hours and a whole lot of free time.
You could hear the cry of a baby in a room as you passed; disquietude with its currently mortal journey. “Bored?” One of the nurses called and you smiled with a nod, “Come chat.” She waved you over and you complied with ease.
“How are you, Jane?” You inquired softly. Jane was young, mid-twenties, and fresh with enthusiasm. Her hair was wild in its bun, like she’d thrown it up in a hurry, but she smiled bright and that comforted you.
“I’m great,” she beamed, twisting the engagement ring around her finger idly. “Josh and I just put an offer in on a house!”
“That’s amazing!” You smiled, leaning across the desk. “I wish I could afford a house, but my apartment will have to do for now.”
“Honestly, the only reason we could afford to do it is because Josh sold that app he was developing. Got 3 million for it. Crazy, right?”
“3 million?” You spluttered, “Oh my gosh, I wish I could develop an app.”
Jane laughed, “Me too, but I have no talent for that sort of thing.”
“Me neither.” You mused.
“So how have you been, Y/N? I heard about you and Jimin. I’m so sorry.”
Your heart seized at the mention of his name, but you mustered a smile; you knew she meant well. Jane didn’t have an unkind bone in her body.
“I’m OK,” you answered honestly, “work keeps me pretty distracted. It’s just gonna take some time to learn my new normal.”
“I’m sorry I brought it up,” Jane frowned, “That was thoughtless of me.”
“It’s OK,” you reassured, “I know you, Jane, you didn’t mean any harm.”
“Just because I meant well doesn’t mean it was right. I’m sorry. I wish I could ease the pain.”
“I wish you could too,” you chuckled, “You sure Josh is the one? Not me?”
Jane giggled, “That’s what my wrist says, anyway.” She tapped at her tattoo and you grinned.
“Dang. He’s a lucky guy.” You sighed deep. “Well, I’m gonna go sit in the break room for a bit and rest my feet.”
“Get yourself a snack, too!” She called and you waved a goodbye.
The breakroom was quiet when you entered, one resident sprawled prostrate across the couch as its only occupant. You made your way to the vending machine, peering into the spirals, chaining snacks in place. Nothing of real substance; but there were pretzels.
After retiring to the couch with your snack, you allowed the silence to wash over you. It still didn’t feel real that Jimin was no longer around. Even in a new apartment, his absence was like a nail in your heart. You wondered if you’d ever feel better. Ever feel normal again.
Maybe if Jungkook- no, there was no point in thinking that way. He’d made his decision, you just needed to let that go. You couldn’t hold on to someone you weren’t even sure wanted you back. It was just another kind of heartache you didn’t need right now.
Back in high school you could have never imagined this future. A future in which your enemy was your soulmate and you were the one that was sad that he didn’t want to try for…more. It was frustrating just how devastated that made you feel.
The crunch of your pretzels filled your head like a drum and you stared absentmindedly at the ceiling. You could hear the soft snores of the sleeping resident and you wished that you could be like him. So many people said eventually you’d be able to just tune it all out and fall asleep, but you preferred the comfort of a bed and a couch that gave you a crick in the neck would never do.
The door to the breakroom opened and Jungkook walked sluggishly inside. He hadn’t noticed you, fiddling with something in the pocket of his scrubs. He walked up to survey the vending machine and you took the opportunity to watch him.
He looked tired; the kind of worn you could only get from working 18 straight hours without rest. His shoulders sagged with his fatigue and his eyelids drooped. He settled on a bag of chips before turning and spotting you.
“Oh. I didn’t see you there,” he walked towards you, motioning to the spot beside you. “Do you mind if I-?”
You shook your head, motioning for him to sit down and he slumped into the seat with a puff of exhaustion. “Long day?”
“The longest.” He nodded, slowly opening his bag of chips and munching on the end of one as his vision blurred on the floor.
“How long have you been here?” You asked softly, hoping your voice wasn’t loud enough to wake the sleeping resident on the opposite couch.
Jungkook shrugged, eyes still trained on the tile floor. “Probably 16 hours, maybe longer. I’m honestly not sure what time it is.”
You glanced down at your watch, humming. “It’s 9pm.”
He was slouched, docile like a doll in the lumpy cushions of the couch beneath you and you smiled down at him. You remembered how exhausted you were when you very first started. You were still exhausted most of the time, but now it was like a film over a window pane that you’d become accustomed to.
“How long does the exhaustion last for?” He asked, looking over at you and you shrugged.
“Probably forever.” You mumbled and he frowned.
“Encouraging.”
You chuckled, staring right back. “Sorry. To be fair, the load does lessen and it’s easier to function like a human, but it takes time. We’ve all got to put in our grunt work; it makes you appreciate things more.”
“Life’s never easy.” He nodded, tracing the edges of his chip bag. “I definitely agree that timing is everything and sometimes if you have to wait for something for a long time and work really hard for it…it’s more worthwhile because you’ve earned it. You know?”
He turned to look at you and suddenly you felt like his question was more than just surface level. “What if you work for something and you never end up getting it?” You asked softly.  “You work so hard for so long and have these big dreams and it just…never materializes?”
“Then I suppose it wasn’t meant to be.”
“It seems like even destiny has become a liar at times.” You sighed, but you couldn’t look away from him.
Jungkook shook his head, “I think sometimes it just takes a little longer for fate to work its magic.”
“Maybe,” you mumble, watching as his eyes traced along the shape of your face, “Jungkook, I-”
Suddenly, someone is yawning loudly and you jumped, turning to see the resident you’d completely forgotten about sitting up, scrubbing at his face tiredly. Dr. Amari smiled over at you, grin lopsided and drooping with fatigue.
“Evening Dr. Y/N, Dr. Jeon. That power nap was exactly what I needed.” He groaned, adjusting himself on the coach so that he was no longer on his front before pulling the table beside him forward and rifling through pages he’d apparently left there before falling asleep.
Jungkook chuckled to himself softly before standing and adjusting his scrubs. “I should go. I only had a few minutes to rest anyway. I’ll see you around, Y/N.”
You nodded, mute, and watched as he left back out the door he’d come in. The room returned to its previous solitude and you sighed. It was going to be such a long night.

(More Than Just) Travel Partners - Part I
Fandom: The Witcher Pairing: Jaskier x f!Reader Word Count: 2.1k Rating: T (for now, will ramp up to E in later parts) a/n: okay so, I promise this is a reader insert.  There is a plot relevant reason why the reader is introduced with a name, you just have to find out why.  :3
[ Masterlist ]
——
The tavern was almost stifling with the press of so many bodies; nearly every table full, though you supposed you couldn’t blame them for piling in on a night like this.  The townsfolk, mostly miners from up in the mountain were drowning their cares in a mug of ale or mulled wine; taking the chill off and unwinding after a long day.
Most of them clapped or stomped their feet in time with the music of your fiddle, and some even raised their voices drunkenly to join with yours, if they knew the words.  Nothing could bring you greater joy than a room full of people brought together in song, forgetting their troubles, if only for a while.
Scanning the room as you played, your fingers danced nimbly over the taut strings as your bow pulled each sweet note of the lively reel to life, mixing with the chorus of raucous voices that filled the tavern to the rafters.  A stranger in the crowd caught your eye and something about him held your gaze.  Perhaps it was his flash of blue eyes or his dazed grin, so intent as he leaned forward in his seat to watch you.  Whatever the case you couldn’t seem to look away, at that moment playing only for him amongst the sea of people.
It wasn’t until after the song ended that you noticed the neck of a lute poking over his shoulder as he sipped his ale and your curiosity piqued further; making up your mind to speak with him after your set.
Several songs later you bowed graciously to the cheering audience before stepping down from the small raised stage to return your fiddle to its case amidst a few scattered calls for another song.  Soon however, the crowd quieted, returning to their ale and conversations when it became apparent that their requests would not be fulfilled.
Approaching the counter you caught the barkeep’s eye and he nodded, slipping you a pouch of coin for your songs and pouring you a pint before catching a serving maid by the arm and whispering in her ear.  Soon the girl returned from the kitchen, a steaming bowl of stew in hand and you took it with a smile, pressing a ducat into her palm before weaving through the packed tables til you found the one you were searching for.
The blue eyed man from earlier who had watched your performance with such fascination now sat, idly tracing the rim of his half empty tankard, pretending he hadn’t just been sneaking glances your way as you stood at the bar.
“May I sit?” you asked, biting back a grin as he jumped at your sudden presence.
“I - yes, please!  Please, sit,” he exclaimed haltingly, half rising before grimacing briefly at his own eagerness and schooling his expression.  As you sat across from him you could practically feel him studying you with interest and you quickly brought your drink to your lips, hoping to hide the telltale heat you could feel rising to your face.
“That was quite the performance,” he remarked as you set your mug back on the table and picked up your spoon.  “I haven’t heard such captivating music in a long while.  Well, I mean, other than my own,” he added offhandedly, to which you couldn’t help but snort softly.
“Look, what I’m trying to say is that I enjoyed it thoroughly.”
“I could tell,” you replied with a calculated arch of your brow, your eyes flicking up to his face and enjoying the shift in his expression.  “No one else stared quite as much as you did.”
Clearing his throat, the man’s cheeky grin returned momentarily.  “Yes well, I believe you were staring just as much,” he pointed out smugly.
Unable to dispute his words you ducked your head to take a bite of your supper.
“Where did you learn how to play like that?” He asked suddenly, taking you by surprise.
Swallowing slowly, you shrugged.  “Just here and there.”  The answer, though vague, was true enough.  You just didn’t care to elaborate where the here or there were.
The man stared flatly however, not convinced in the slightest.  “Alright then, be mysterious,” he exclaimed throwing up his hands when you didn’t respond, “but with your level of technical skill I warrant you’ve had professional training somewhere.  I just don’t understand why you’re playing in taverns when you could be entertaining in a king’s court.”
Taking another bite of the hearty stew you instead changed the subject, not wanting to have to explain your choices to a stranger.
“I couldn’t help but notice your lute,” you said around a mouthful of meat and potatoes, calling his attention to the instrument slung across the back of the empty chair next to you.  Upon closer inspection you noticed it was rather finely wrought, if not a trifle worn, with beautiful ornate detailing running up the neck and circling the body.
“Ah yes, you like it?”  The man asked, a fondness to his tone and pride in his gaze as he turned his eyes to the instrument as well.  “It was a gift from Flivandrel, king of the elves… I mean, after one of his people so rudely broke mine.”  He grumbled the last part, frowning at the memory.
Something about his story tickled your own memory and you chewed your lip as you wracked your brain, trying to remember why that should sound so familiar.
“I’ve heard that story…” you mused, once more turning your eyes on the man across from you with newfound interest.  Smiling broadly he merely waited, raising his brows expectantly.
Your stew all but forgotten in front of you, a snatch of song surfaced in your memory, bringing with it recognition as you began to hum it softly under your breath.  That song had become so popular a while ago you couldn’t believe you had actually forgotten it.  No matter where you’d traveled back then, you couldn’t seem to escape it, the damned thing stuck in your head for weeks.
“Are you really Jaskier of Lettenhove?”  The question slipped out unbidden and you worried for an instant at insulting him with your disbelief.
Instead his smile only seemed to broaden.  “The one and only.”
“The bard known to travel with the witcher, Geralt of Rivia?” you pressed.
Jaskier’s proud grin slipped, his expression souring.  “Traveled would be the accurate word,” he grumbled, abruptly taking a long draw from his ale.  “I’m… taking a short break from all the… action,” he explained, as if trying to convince himself.
“Oh,” you replied, uncertain what else to say, acutely aware you’d struck a sore spot and mentally noting to avoid further mention of said witcher.
“Not to worry, it’s all water under the bridge,” Jaskier exclaimed, rather unconvincingly before sighing dramatically.  As soon as his eyes returned to yours, however, his alluring grin returned.
“I’m afraid you have me at a disadvantage.  You know who I am, but I am tragically bereft of the pleasure of knowing your name.”
Not ready for the sudden burst of charm you mentally cursed at the way your face heated readily.  It’d been quite a while since anyone had had such an effect on you, though you realized you didn’t find it entirely unpleasant.
“Aevryn,” you answered shortly, your lips almost twitching to a grin.
The false name rolled off your tongue easily now and though you doubted Jaskier had any ties to the man you’d been running from for the past two years it didn’t hurt to err on the side of caution.
“Aevryn,” he repeated, as if savouring the name —you wondered briefly what your real name would sound like on his lips and the thought sent a shiver down your spine.
“Of course your name would be as beautiful as you are,” Jaskier continued smoothly, taking your hand and bringing it to his lips, his blue eyes holding yours.
The compliment twisted something deep inside and you fought to keep your smile from slipping as his lips brushed your knuckles.  A shaky laugh trembled from your lungs.  “Flatterer.”
Jaskier merely shrugged.  “Guilty as charged.”
“So,” you begin as he released your hand, pausing to gulp down some ale to calm your nerves.  “Where are you headed from here?  No doubt to chase down more glory and encapsulate it in song.”
Jaskier chuckled, his eyes darting down to his hands for a moment as he fidgeted with the thick signet ring on his finger.  “Actually I was about to ask you the same question.”  Clearing his throat his gaze swung to his lute.  “As I was listening to you perform, well I, I couldn’t help but imagine how much fun it would be to play with you.”
Brows climbing at his choice of words the deep flush that suffused your face was entirely impossible to banish as your thoughts leapt unbidden to what else his minstrel fingers could play and a horrified look crossed Jaskier’s visage at your reaction.
“Ohhhhfuckthatcameoutwrong,” he hastily exclaimed, tugging at the collar of his doublet.  “I meant as in play our instruments and-and sing together,” he revised, swallowing thickly.
You gaped at him a moment longer before an amused laugh burst from your lips and you nearly doubled over in your chair, tears of mirth pricking your eyes.
“Oh is that what you meant?” you couldn’t help but tease, gasping between peals of laughter.  A few of the remaining patrons glanced your way, but you were past caring, your amusement only growing the redder Jaskier’s face became.
Clearing his throat rather awkwardly and glaring over his shoulder at those as were still staring, his head whipped back around to you as the last of your laughter died down.
“Now that we’ve all had a good laugh,” he grumbled, “I truly meant it when I said I’ve not encountered someone as talented as you in a long while.  And…” he hesitated a moment longer, his piercing blue eyes studying you.  “As it so happens, I happen to be sans a traveling partner recently.”  Eyeing you hopefully Jaskier arched a brow.  “So… what do you say?”
Biting your lip, you considered what he was getting at.  You’d been traveling alone for so long now, always glancing over your shoulder, always on the lookout… it was getting tiresome, and to be completely honest, it was lonely.  You’d almost forgotten how nice it was to have some company, especially company as charming and entertaining as Jaskier.  You hadn’t laughed that hard in, well, you couldn’t remember when.
He made you feel…
“What would you get out of this arrangement?” you ask, quick to sidestep that line of thought.  True, the bard wasn’t as infamous as his witcher friend, but he was known, to put it nicely, to be a bit of a player —although what bard wasn’t, you thought.
...Be that as it may, that was a game you wanted nothing to do with.
“What do I get?” he asked, a touch scandalized.  “Why, the pleasure of your lovely company, of course.  And-and!” he exclaimed, holding up a finger, “ the opportunity to perform with someone of your caliber.  I mean, the whole crowd was singing along, completely under your spell, Aevryn.  Just imagine what we could do together.”
The earnestly in Jaskier’s voice and the light in his eyes swayed you, nearly leaving you speechless.
“Am I really that good?” You scoffed.
“Oh you are, love.  You are.”
Stunned, you took a deep breath.  “Alright,” you answered simply.  “Looks like you’ve got yourself a new traveling partner, Jaskier.  In the morning we set out.”
If his words alone hadn’t stolen your breath, the grin he flashed then certainly did the trick.
“Oh lovely!  Wonderful!” he announced excitedly, following suit as you stood and quickly grabbed his lute before trailing along behind you as you climbed the stairs to your room.  “You, um, you have a horse, don’t you?” he asked as you stopped in front of your door.
“...Yes,” you answered slowly, frowning slightly, wondering what he was getting at.
“Oh good,” he sighed, “I was getting really tired of walking everywhere on foot.”
Rolling your eyes you unlocked your door, pushing it open slowly.  Turning to face him, you patted his cheek lightly.  “Good night Jaskier.  I’ll see you in the morning.”
Leaning forward as you stepped backward into your room, your hand slipping from his face, his lips parted as if to say something more, but whatever it was would have to wait.  You smiled at him once more before shutting the door softly in his face, not ready to open that can of worms.
“Yes, uh, good-goodnight then.”  You heard him call through the door before his footsteps faded down the hall, leaving you with much to think about.

Harvest Moon
Description: Halloween! Werewolf!Taehyung x Reader: You live a normal life, in a normal little town, but it’s the Wolf-Harvest Festival, and the moon is full.

Tumblr media
You grinned as the man breathed fire into the air and his fellow entertainers juggled torches, slowly walking to the next source of entertainment. The smells of food, the cheer of crowds, the all encompassing warmth of the Wolf-Harvest Festival. Your village and the neighboring villages were all excited for this. It’d been a good year, an extra long growing season with extra harvests. Everyone would eat well this winter.
You smiled as one of the children gave you an caramel apple slice on a stick, smiling as they skipped away with the other children.
You ate as you observed a dance performance, interpreting the wolves that once roamed the towns according to legends and old tales. The protectors of children and guides to the lost.
And who would occasionally take a villager as their mate, which was what was being depicted inaccurately onstage. When werewolves chose mates it was more romantic. The villagers were the wolves true-mates, and they would court the villager quite successfully before then leaving with said villager. No one who left with the wolves ever returned, or if they were it was by force and it didn’t go over well.
But that wasn’t nearly dramatic enough for performers.
You shook your head, and continued along, checking the goods at each stall to determine if you wanted any of them, but ultimately loosing yourself in the crowd. Surrounded yet alone.
A hand gently brushed along your shoulder, then down your arm, drawing your hand out until his fingertips barely parted from yours.
Your gaze was drawn to his face, and the seductive smirk he wore as he regarded you. His tongue flicked over his lower lip, and his head tilted ever so slightly, beckoning you to follow him.
You nodded ever so slightly, following even though some part of your mind knew that this was a dangerous thing to do.
But his face was enchanting. Unreal.
The smile fluctuated from amused to alluring, entirely godlike. You couldn’t tear your eyes away from his face, even though you could glimpse his gorgeous neck, the golden skin of his collarbone, how his shirt was opened ever so slightly to reveal more of the golden skin of his chest. His eyes glowed in the firelight, drawing you further into his hold over you.
You vaguely noticed that you were entering the forest, drawn away from the crowds.
The light was dimmer, yet his eyes still glowed, turned partially away from you, holding onto you by the fingertips. Trees encompassed you, but you couldn’t keep track of the path you were taking. It was as if every time your mind would start to wander to your surroundings, his touch would grow just a little more enticing.
You could tell the forest was getting denser, trees and branches closer together and blocking what little light was able to permeate the canopy from the sunset.
An eyebrow quirked, head rolling and exposing his neck seductively. His tongue slid along his lips again and then you were staring at his lips.
A deep chuckle came from his throat, and you felt breathless, but it was enough to break the hold on you long enough to realize that the only thing you could clearly see was the man, and his glowing eyes, and you definitely didn’t know where you were despite having explored the woods around your home your whole life.
Then his hand encompassed all of yours, warm and strong.
Your gaze snapped to his hand.
Long fingers. Long, gorgeous, sinful fingers.
His grip tightened and he jerked your through some sort of plant-y barrier and suddenly you found yourself gazing out over a grassland. In the distance you could see the shimmer of a lake and a different forest, and the moon was just peeking over the horizon, opposite of the sun.
You loudly drew in a breath as if you hadn’t been breathing the whole time.
He was standing behind you a little, the fingertips of his right hand brushing over one shoulder while his left hand brushed the loose hair from it. “You’re brave,” He murmured, and gods! His voice! As if he wasn’t already unearthly, his voice just seemed to embody it more. “And beautiful.”
You didn’t know if you would ever breathe properly again, but you slowly turned to him, gaze on the ground at first, but flicking up to his face once his shoes came into your field of vision.
Yeah. Still godlike.
He chuckled again, very close to you, very close to your face. “Do you know what I am?”
You felt a trill of fear and apprehension, but also excitement. And attraction. You swallowed, piecing together your fractured thoughts and answering before you really could acknowledge your own thinking. “A werewolf.”
“Are you still unafraid?” He asked cheekily, long fingers tilting your chin up until you were no longer staring at his smile, but his eyes. Gorgeous, entrancing eyes. “Because you don’t seem to be?”
“I…know the stories….” You whispered, licking and then biting your lips. “And it’s not…that I’m…unafraid….”
His nose suddenly brushed lightly against yours. “Do you know why you’re here?”
You nodded slowly. “I’m…your mate.”
“My true mate,” he whispered, and—gods, could he just give you two minutes to breath? One of his hands rested lightly on your waist. “Is that okay with you?”
“Isn’t it a little late to be asking that?” You whispered.
He shook his head, and suddenly his lips brushed against your eyebrow. “I could return you to your home next full moon, and you could live your life as though this never happened.”
“Except my job would be gone. Can’t run a school without a teacher.” Your mind was starting to catch up. “And where are we?”
“This is neutral territory, space between our land, the witches, and the vampires. Used for festivals. I’m actually surprised that there isn’t one tonight with a harvest moon. Over there, where you that first hill is where pack territory starts, and extends far beyond the lake.” His voice was low, and his lips touched your neck, causing you to gasp. “You’d never be an outcast again, y/n.”
You froze, mind beginning to race. “How do you know my name?”
“The moon has been full since yesterday,” He replied, stepping back only a little, so he could look you in the eyes. “I was drawn to your scent, but I didn’t want to approach you until I could discern your attachment to that place. You have no family, one friend who forgets you in lieu of her own happiness, and though you’re fond and attached to the children, you’re scorned by their parents. Even if you choose not to be my mate, there could still be a place in the pack for you.” The smirk was long gone, and he looked utterly serious. Sober, and compassionate. Sympathetic.
You forced yourself to turn away, unable to think clearly in his presence. “I would have to become a wolf, wouldn’t I?”
“Eventually,” He replied. “The pack is close, we couldn’t bear to watch one of our own age while we stayed young.”
You turned back, confused. “Werewolves don’t age?”
He shrugged. “Not after reaching peak adulthood. Whenever that may be. Packs move around, new packs are formed. My pack is a younger one. Wolves die, don’t get me wrong, but we don’t age. Makes our bonds deeper, more important.” His fingers trailed along your face, filling you with a warmth that had been missing in your life for a very long time.
“Y-you said I could leave if I don’t like it?”
He nodded slowly. “I’ll still check on you after, though. I’ll need to.”
You nodded as well. You figured it would be harder on him for the mating to not go over well. “Um, I guess show me to your territory?”
He suddenly grinned, and instead of being super seductive and alluring, it was adorable and playful. “Okay! I’ll be shifting once the moon is fully over the horizon, and then you can ride on me to the territory. It’s farther than it looks and you’ll be safer riding me than walking. Then the others will know that you’re mine and will stay away.”
“Others? Like, other werewolves?”
“Oh, no, they’re probably already waiting for me to return. No, other creatures. Vamps, witches…spriggans….” His gaze drifted out over the valley, as if just remembering the last creature. He looked back to you and smiled, looking amused. “They’ll be out and about soon, but they know not to come between a wolf and his mate. Too much trouble for everyone involved.”
“Should we at least start walking while we wait for the moon?” You asked.
He nodded, offering you his hand, but this time it was with a playful grin instead of that smirk. It was like he’d done a one-eighty. A completely different side of his personality showing, and yet you were still attracted to him and that adorably boxy grin. This side of his personality felt more…human?
He stopped to pick some of the flowers, being particular about what ones he did, and leaving the stem nice and long. He walked along with a spring in his step. “I think you’ll like it with us. We had a good harvest this year as well, so we’re going to eat well. And we had limited hunts for the past couple years so that there’s more prey this year. We’re going to start the hunt soon, so we can smoke the meat and make sausage.”
“When?”
“Two days time,” He answered, looking toward the lake. “I’m sad that it’s happening while you’re with us.”
“Oh, it’s okay. I could help. My father was a butcher. I used to help in his shop.” You watched his fingers twist the stems together, smiling a little as you recognized what he was doing. You taught the girls in the school how to make flower chains like that earlier that day.
He finished the ring, then added flowers to it to look fuller before turning and placing it on your head. “Pretty.” He skipped ahead a couple steps to stoop and pick more flowers.
You paused beside him as he was fiddling with a rather troublesome stem, watching as the moon slipped fully from the hold of the horizon.
Taehyung looked up at it, face blank before he smiled softly. He placed the flower crown in your hands. It was larger than the one you wore. “Here, put it on my head after I shift.” He unbuttoned his shirt, sliding it off his shoulders.
You looked away, flustered.
He made a pained sound, then you heard a low growl that turned into terrifying howl.
You shivered, shrinking in on yourself until you noticed the flower crown draped across both of your hands.
He made a soft sound, and you turned toward him.
He had gorgeous fur, with a couple darker spots on his face that you figured were freckles in his human form. He was sitting, looking at with his head tilted cutely. Tail wagging. He lowered his head a little.
Which would have been cute if he was almost as tall as you were, sitting down.
“Wow,” You whispered, then let out a breath all at once. “You weren’t kidding about being big enough for me to ride.”
His tail started wagging, and his nose touched your fingertips—cold and wet.
You looked at your hands and remembered the flower crown. You carefully draped it on his lowered head, making sure to hook it around his ears.
He stood up afterward, seeming pleased, and nudged his clothes toward you.
You picked them up, folding them carefully and putting them into the bag that he had been carrying.
He crouched down, using his muzzle to nudge you toward it.
“Right, I’ve only ever ridden horses, so forgive me if I hurt you.”
He yipped playfully, rubbing your hip with his muzzle before settling down to wait for you to climb on.
You carefully hopped up, swinging your leg over and then shifting forward a bit to grab onto his scruff to keep yourself in place. “This is probably the craziest thing I’ve ever done.”
He wiggled, then stood when he felt your grip on his scruff tighten. He slowly started walking, then set off in a trot toward the lake, letting you become accustomed to riding him before picking up his pace.
You could glimpse some bats flying through the air and you could swear you heard a cackle in the distance.
But though some of the bats definitely circled around you, they didn’t come within reach of your wolf’s sharp teeth.
He barked once, when a bat came too low, too close.
The bats quickly flew away.
It was only a few more minutes before he slowed to a trot again and the lake was much closer.
Another wolf came running up, silver fur rippling in the orange light of the moon, it stopped when it spotted you, though. It was shorter than your wolf, but only slightly. It seemed smaller since this wolf seemed to have a slighter figure, elegant or graceful.
Your wolf lay down, and you slipped off even though it scared you.
He gently tugged on the bag with his clothing and you took it off and set it down before turning away.
You turned back when he tapped your shoulder.
The other wolf had shifted as well, wearing pants and a loose shirt as well. He had a mysterious and elegant air to him still. “Taehyung?”
“Jiminie! This is Y/n. She’s my mate!” Your wolf grinned at the other man. “Y/n, this is Jimin, he’s my best friend.”
Jimin’s expression softened, and he smiled a bit. “Hello, y/n. Tae-tae, we were worried about you. You ran off without a word.”
“I followed my nose through the portal, sorry Chim.” He gently guided you closer to him with his hand on your shoulder blade. “Where are the others?”
“Near. I’ll go find them and tell them to come…clothed,” Jimin regarded you with an amused smile, then jogged away.
The flower crown Taehyung had worn as a wolf was hanging around his neck now, and his shirt wasn’t quite buttoned correctly.
“Like I said, my pack is a young one. Last year the older members moved on, just the seven of us stayed behind. It’s the our pack has lived for ages, when a new alpha comes that’s ready for a leadership position, either the rest of the pack splits off or the new alpha leaves with those that wish to follow him. Namjoonie-hyung is a good leader though, and it’s nice having more space to roam.” Taehyung picked up the bag, then smiling at you. “You’ll be a little outnumbered, though.”
“Outnumbered?”
“Well, none of the others have mates just yet. I’m actually a little young to have found mine. Usually we can’t tell until we reach complete maturity. Jungkookie is our youngest, he was a little young to stay behind with our new pack, but we’d been raising him ever since his parents were killed when he was…thirteen winters old? He’s seventeen winters old now. He’s our pup.” He smiled lovingly at the thought of his pack-mates. “But none of the others have found their true mates yet. We’re still sort of establishing ourselves. We work with another pack that’s nearby, trading labor and goods where we can. They’re pacifists, and they’re mostly grateful that we’re between them and the witches and vampires and spriggans. They’re popular for those raising pups. A lot of the packs have their moms and pups stay with them until the pups are old enough to consciously shift in and out of wolf form instead of shifting with their moods. Usually around the time they start to really run around. But a lot of folks stay longer, and I’m sure they would love to have a school!”
You had begun smiling again as he sort of rambled, realizing he was doing his best to make sure you’d want to stay. “Sounds like a nice idea that we can look into some other time.”
He looked at you and relaxed a little more, sort of staring at your face in a soft sort of way. “You really are the most beautiful creature I’ve ever laid eyes on.”
You looked to the ground. “You’re pretty handsome yourself, you know.” So handsome that it was enchanting.
“Thank you,” He said, beaming happily when you glanced up at him. Then he turned quickly. “Hyungs! Jungkookie! Come meet my mate!”
You stepped closer to your man, feeling a little shy.
They were all different, and yet handsome. Not nearly as handsome as your man, but in their own ways.
“This is y/n! Y/n, this is Namjoon-hyung, our leader—”
Namjoon dipped his head and you returned the gesture, smiling nervously.
“—Then that one is Seokjinnie-hyung, the short one next to him is Yoongi-hyung—”
Seokjin offered you a kind smile while the other just sort of nodded tersely.
“Hoseokie-hyung is the one next to Jimin, who you met, and hiding behind Seokjinnie-hyung is our little Jungkookie!” Taehyung pointed everyone out.
Hoseok had a bright grin.
Jungkook didn’t seem nervous, calmly watching you from behind the safety of Seokjin’s broad shoulders.
“So, y/n, you’re from which village?” Namjoon asked, and he sounded…kind.
You told him the name of your village, darting a glance up at Taehyung.
Namjoon smiled and nodded. “I remember it. They still celebrate the wolf-harvest?”
“Yes, they do. Tonight, actually,” You answered softly, still glancing to Taehyung for reassurance.
He kissed your temple. “You looked so pretty in the firelight. Ah, I should have bought more treats for everyone. I did get some candied nuts, though!” He pulled out a bag of the nuts from his satchel, tossing them to Jin, who immediately opened the bag and started tasting.
The other boys were quick to gather around him and the bag.
You smiled a little. “You all act like you’re starved for sweets.”
“Well, we’ve had to use our sugar sparingly. Haven’t had the chance to trade with the neighboring pack quite yet,” Namjoon explained.
You looked up at the moon, then at Taehyung. “I just realized I don’t even have clothes.”
He glanced toward the moon as well, looking worried. “I don’t think I could get us both there and back before the moon disappears.”
“Then would you go, at least?” You asked. “I don’t need much.”
You swore his face was red.
“Um…yeah…yeah, I can go…um…could someone show her to…where she’ll be staying?” He seemed flustered.
Jimin nodded, stepping forward. “I can.”
Namjoon was looking at the moon. “I better go with you, Tae, just in case. I can open the portal for a few extra minutes if we need to.”
Your thoughts raced and you came to a conclusion before you could stop yourself. “Actually, just…bring whatever you can? I don’t think I need a month to decide to stay here.”
Taehyung seemed to calm instantly, looking like you hung the stars in the sky. “Really?”
You nodded. “I mean, still no promises on the whole mate thing, but I can find a place here just as easily as I could back there.”
He grinned and nodded. “Okay!”
“In that case, you’ll probably need extra help,” Yoongi said, his voice unexpectedly deep. “While Jimin takes y/n to the cabin Seokjin cleaned out this morning, we can go clean out the house. With all of us, it shouldn’t be that hard to get back before the moon sets.”
“And I’ve got some magic bags from my trade with the witches earlier this evening. Apparently, they can’t get their baneberry to grow as well as ours is.” Seokjin grinned and held up a couple satchels that had been slung over his shoulders. “But we should hurry.”
“Right, let’s go,” Namjoon ordered, discarding his shirt.
You glanced at Taehyung one last time before darting to Jimin’s side.
“Oh, welcome to the pack, y/n,” Namjoon called out.
When you glanced back, six wolves were sprinting across the grassland.
One with a ring of flowers around its neck, dark fur tinted orange in the light of the harvest moon.
Yeah, you made the right choice.

My Favorite Weapon - Chris Argent (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Chris Argent x reader
Warnings: uh...no.
A/N: None of this was supposed to happen. And there certainly wasn’t supposed to be a part two. Sigh.
Request from Anonymous: Goody! :) I would like to suggest "I don't need a weapon, I am one." with Chris Argent x Reader, please?! Bonus points if it's the reader saying it. ;) Thank you! <3
***
You’d been in Beacon Hills for about two days when you realized they had a massive supernatural problem. It figured. You’d moved from your last town because you were trying to get away from the otherworldly drama. And here you were, right back in the middle of it. Because, of course, the first friend you made would be a werewolf. But you and Derek just clicked.
Now, you were at your first pack meeting as Derek wanted to introduce you to everyone else. They were dealing with their current issue of the month and he thought they could use your help. You sat on a counter to the side as everyone filed in. Their eyes were all locked on you though no one said anything until an older man came in with a young girl you assumed to be his daughter. The two of you locked gazes for what felt like minutes but was probably only a few seconds. Derek glanced at you and arched a brow as he picked up on the chemo signals that said you were attracted to the new arrival.
You made a face and flipped him off which made him chuckle.
“Who’s this?” the man asked and your eyes found him again. The deep rumble of his voice did nothing to ease your attraction. Damn.
“Everyone this is Y/N. She’s new to town but I think she can be a big help,” Derek explained. He went around the room and introduced everyone. They certainly had a mix of supers in their little group.
“No. Absolutely not,” Chris said with a shake of his head. “The last thing we need is another untrained person getting in the way during a fight. She’ll be a liability to herself and others. Just because she knows about the supernatural doesn’t mean she should get involved in our business.” He was sexy even when he was being an ass. You were in so much trouble.
Your lips twitched as you leaned forward and rested your elbows on your knees. “Yeah, Derek. What’s the deal with just throwing me into a fight with no training or anything?”
He rolled his eyes. He’d seen you fight firsthand which is why he was so anxious to make you part of the pack. “She can fight, Chris. I’d trust her to have my back.”
Those piercing blue eyes darted over to you. “Is that true? Can you fight?”
“I’ve been known to hold my own.”
Derek gave you another look and you shrugged. You didn’t like being underestimated and you were annoyed that Mr. Sexy over there just assumed you were useless. You weren’t going to make it easy on him.
“Against a werewolf?” he pressed.
You pursed your lips. “I’ve never actually fought a werewolf.” You’d fought hybrids, witches and vampires, but no werewolves.
Chris glared at Derek who held up his hands in surrender. “Fine, Argent. Run her through her paces. You decide if she’s worthy or not.”
The teenagers in the room were just looking between the three of you, obviously entertained by this conversation. It was your understanding that Scott kid was a true alpha so you were surprised he was just sitting there, saying nothing.
He must have felt your gaze because he turned to you with a smile. “No point in getting involved in the discussion until something is said I disagree with. No offense, but we don’t know you.”
You shrugged. “I get that. You’re looking out for your pack. It’s what you’re supposed to do. I’m just not used to seeing it is all.”
He tilted his head with a frown, obviously wanting to ask you to explain. Relief flowed through you when he didn’t. You weren’t even sure you could get these kids to understand how bad a pack ruled by fear was. Hopefully, they’d never have to find out.
“Are you even listening?” that low voice snapped.
You turned to Chris with an arched brow. “Sorry, I got bored of the conversation about two minutes in.”
One of the others snorted a laugh but quickly covered with a cough.
“Glad to know this is so important to you.” He took a step toward you, glowering. As if you would be intimidated by the likes of him. You’d spent too long having to hold your ground against people that actually would hurt you to be afraid of the ones that wouldn’t.
“Chris wants you to meet him tomorrow at the house,” Derek said.
By the house, he meant the remains of the Hale house that had burnt so long ago. Why they all liked to go up there to train, fight or whatever, you had no idea. You shook your head and hopped off the counter. “Nope. Let’s get it done now. There’s no point in putting it off.”
Chris narrowed his eyes at you.
You sighed. “Look, I get it. It’s not you you’re worried about, it’s your kid. Believe it or not I do have some experience trying to keep teenagers alive under bizarre circumstances. This meeting was called to introduce me to the pack. You aren’t going to discuss anything important with me until this issue is resolved, so let’s get it done.”
So, the pack meeting became a fieldtrip out to the Hale place. Even Peter tagged along, mumbling something about watching the hunter get his ass kicked. Though you wondered if he was referring to you or Argent.
Chris and you stood in a clearing and the others settled around you. He tossed a black rod in your direction and you snatched it from the air. “That’s a good start,” he said.
You turned it in your hand. “What is this?”
“It’s a shock rod.” He pushed a button and the weapon doubled in size. “I’ve removed the power source from these. They’re strictly for training.”
You shrugged and shifted your weight on your feet. Chris did the same as Derek began to count.
“Go.”
You spent the first several minutes dodging his attacks as you sized him up and learned the way he moved. It had been awhile since you’d faced a non-supernatural opponent and frankly his slower speed was throwing you off.
Finally, you tossed the weapon to the side. You dodged a swing from one hand and blocked the arm that brought the shock rod into your space. With a twist of his arm and a shift of your weight, you rammed your shoulder into his stomach and tossed him onto his back. You heard the air leave his lungs with a grunt.
There was a stretch of silence. “Holy shit. That was hot,” Peter said, breaking it.
You flipped him off. “Stuff it, Hale.” You stood over Chris and offered him a hand. He looked between you and it for a moment before taking it and letting you help him to his feet. Once he was steady, you walked over and picked up your shock rod. You walked back to him and handed it over. “I don’t need a weapon, Argent. I am one.”
***
Of course, Chris agreed that you’d passed the test and you were welcomed into the pack. He still tested you when given the opportunity until he was convinced that you could use a gun correctly. He tried to test you on the bow but quickly relented when you showed him the crossbow was your weapon of choice. That and you could stab stuff. All that practice shoving stakes into the hearts of vampires came in handy.
They still didn’t know about your past. At first, you’d been hesitant because Chris was a hunter. He might be friends with the wolves of Beacon Hills for his daughter’s sake, but you weren’t convinced he wouldn’t send people after your friends on the other side of the country. Now, it just amused you when you continuously surprised them with your knowledge and skill. Really, if they asked, you’d tell them, but no one had as of yet.
It was now a couple of months later and you were at another meeting. This one was at the Argent’s place. Surprisingly things had been quiet lately. Still, the pack met weekly so everyone could stay informed about what was going on with their packmates. Chris had ordered pizza and the kids were eating as they talked over each other about that week’s finals.
You leaned against the kitchen counter while you ate. It wasn’t long before Derek and Chris joined you, one on each side. Peter was ‘busy’ as usual.
“Have I mentioned lately how glad I am I’m not in high school anymore?” you asked.
Both men chuckled. Chris reached behind him and grabbed a beer. He popped the cap and offered it to you. “Thanks.” You took a long drink before setting it on the counter beside you.
A couple of minutes later, Chris picked up the bottle and took a swallow before putting it back where he snatched it from. You barely even noticed, you were so used to him doing it by now. But Derek did. He took a step away from the counter as he faced your direction.
He narrowed his eyes and pointed between the two of you. “When did this start?”
Chris grabbed the bottle and took another drink as his lips twitched. He nudged your side. You pulled your attention from the teenage conversation. “What?”
Chris smirked. “Go ahead. Ask again,” he prompted Derek.
Your friend stepped in front of you to block your view of the rest of the pack and make sure he had your attention. “I asked when this started.” He gestured to the two of you again.
Your face heated. “There is no this. We’re just friends.”
Derek shifted his gaze to Chris who simply shrugged and shook his head. “I ask and she says no. Won’t tell me why so I keep asking.”
“Well, you seem very close for friends,” Derek prodded, his eyes flicking to the bottle of beer you and Chris were sharing.
“He’s not a sour wolf and he likes to cuddle,” you defended.
Derek leaned down so you were eye to eye when he smirked. “I don’t like to cuddle with you, because we’re just friends. I think you just proved my point.”
You stuck your tongue out at him because you’re mature like that. Chris laughed and ran a hand up your back. Suddenly, something one of the kids said caught your attention. You pushed Derek to the side so you could see the rest of them. “What was that?”
“Huh?” Stiles said, looking over at you.
“What did you just say?”
“I said, we’ve got a new kid in school,” he said slowly.
“Where did you say he was from?” You knew you sounded a little frantic, but this was important.
“Some little town in Virginia. Mystic Falls, I think.”
Well, shit.

***if you reblog/comment on my fics there’s now a 110% chance you’ve made my heart flutter****
Tony rolled his eyes as he watched Wade enter the room. This was the third time Wade had broken into the tower, despite the top of the line security system that he himself had programmed.
“Well aren’t you the gift that keeps on giving”. Wade was unfazed by Tony’s sarcasm, besides he knew Tony secretly love their little game of cat and mouse. Stepping to the side Wade revealed the true reason for his visit.
He looked to Tony, “Don’t get your panties in a twist R2D2, I ain’t here for me today”. As Wade nudged your side you knew this was your turn to talk. Now, not only was Tony looking at you but both Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.
“I’m (y/n), and don’t worry I’m not nearly as much of a dick as Wade is”, you said before turning to wink at Wade. The room remained silent, everyone trying to understand where you fit in all of this.
Tony sipped from his coffee, “If he’s holding you against your will blink twice”. It was kinda strange to have all eyes on you, especially the eyes of such impressive people. You felt almost like an animal on display.
Wade began to double over in fake laughter, “Wow I didn’t know robots could make jokes! As much as I’d love to continue comedy hour, I’m going to cut to the chase here. I have a bad guy to fuck up, think the love child of Bin Laden and whoever made the ‘What does the Fox say’ song, and I need to know (y/n) here is safe”.
It was entertaining to see everyone try not to smile at Wade’s jokes, but fail miserably. As much as people loved to say that Wade was a lot of handle, it seemed as though they secretly felt that he was a lot better than most.
Placing down his mug Tony joked,“So I’m now a bed and breakfast? Stark’s Suites?”. You watched as Steve Rogers placed down the newspaper he’d been reading, obviously annoyed. He began to reason with Tony, “We can keep her safe Tony, why not?”.
The man you knew as the Winter Soldier began to smirk, “and besides she already told as us she’s not as much of a dick as Wade”. You began to smile yourself, they were being so welcoming to you.
Tony was still weary, “And why can’t she accompany your ‘lovely’ ass?”. Wade refrained from making a joke, even though Tony had kinda set himself up there. Instead he explained, “Because she’s what the twisted fuck wants, and I ain’t gonna allow that”.
It was a long story, and if it was told by Wade, it was even longer. He loved being dramatic. A picture is worth a thousand words, so you figured that showing would be better than telling.
You closed your eyes and slowly summoned your powers. Feeling a little dramatic yourself you decided to give them all a show. You began to feel the electricity in the tips of your fingers.
The men hadn’t yet realized, but you were changing the very makeup of the air around you. If you wanted you could make it thunder, you could engulf the room in flames, or you could make the room crumble to brick and ash with the snap of your fingers.
In order to not destroy the very place you were hoping to hide out in, you settled on your manipulation abilities. When you can change the manifestations of energy down to an atomic level, controlling minds is a piece of cake.
With only your mind you pulled Tony forward until he stood a few feet in front of you, conjured up an electrical current, and surrounded him in circle of electricity. Steve and Bucky both tensed, until they realized that Tony looked as calm as ever.
You’d placed him under a trance, in his mind he was on the most peaceful beach the world had to offer drinking mimosas with Pepper. For effect you slowly began to turn the electricity into flames, allowing them to flow downward from the top of the circle you’d created.
It was strangely beautiful, as the flames flowed like water, and it was like nothing anyone in the room had seen before. The men watched in amazement as you turned what looked like lighting into fire, and then let it fade completely before the flames could reach the floor.
With the flick of your wrist Tony awoke, “Okay.. F.R.I.D.A.Y. run back the security footage of the last minute please”. Tony projected a screen from his wrist, and watched your little show.
For a moment his mouth hung open, you’d rendered the man who always had something sarcastic to say, speechless. While he’d been out cold he’d had the most vivid dreams, but in reality you're engulfed him in a ring of fire and electricity that was nearly as high as the ceiling.
He turned to you, “You play with elements as if they’re nothing….I can see why someone would want to take advantage of that”. It was true, when they wrong people knew what you were capable of it had the potential to be catastrophic.
“Control the party in your pants, just let me know whether she’ll be safe here or not.”. As much as Wade loved to joke around, he was honestly concerned about your well being. He’d wanted you as far away from the fight as possible.
Of course Tony knew he was going to let you stay the moment after Wade first asked, but true to his nature he liked to bush buttons. He smirked, “With her Jedi mind-tricks, I don't think I have a choice”.
That was Tony’s version of a warm welcome. Immediately Wade pulled you into a hug, “Alright dickhead, give daddypool a nice goodbye hug”. And that was Wade’s version of a heartfelt goodbye.
Much to his dismay you kissed his cheek, “Tell Domino I say hi, and to make sure your uglyass doesn’t die on me. If you’re gone, who’s gonna scare the kids on halloween?”. You could hear Bucky try to stifle a laugh, and it cut through the tension of the moment.
Wade began to make his exit, “We could always show the kiddos what you look like before your morning coffee, that’s enough to make Trump crawl back to the hellhole he came from with his tail between his legs”.
That time it was Steve trying to hold back a laugh. Letting out a sigh you put on a smile and tried to pretend that Wade wasn’t about to get himself possibly killed..and all for you. Tony surprisingly came to your rescue, “Steve and I have a debriefing to attend, but Bucky can show you to your room”.
You gripped the straps of your backpack a little harder, “I was expecting a couch, knowing you a couch that costs more than both my kidneys, but a couch”. Tony smirked once again, he was really liking your sense of humor.
He placed his now empty coffee mug in the sink, “You’ve spent the past couple of months living with Wade Wilson, I think you deserve an actual bed”. Knowing went to quit, you simply nodded your head and thanked him.
Steve got up from the table, “It was nice meeting you (y/n), if you need anything don’t be afraid to ask”. So they weren’t just rumors, Steve Rogers was an actual angel sent down from heaven itself.
“And if you ever need any marshmallows toasted, I’m your girl”.
This time Steve didn’t hold back his laughter, and you realized that he was even more beautiful than people said. You could feel that the way everyone had been treating you was genuine and it made a world of a difference.
Once Steve and Tony left the kitchen, it was just you and Bucky. For a moment you just stood there unsure of what to say or do. It had finally settled in that Wade was off to go fight and you were left with strangers, kind and generous strangers, but strangers nonetheless.
Bucky got up from the table, “Why don’t I show you your room so you can put your things down, and then if you’re up for it we can have some real breakfast. No pressure”. You let out a sigh, that did sound like a good offer.
“Only if there’s waffles involved, yes pressure” you teased. Bucky smiled and you felt your heart begin to flutter. Between both him and Steve you’d have a heart attack by the end of the day.
Bucky began to lead you out of the kitchen, “There’s a reason waffles and win both begin with a ‘w’ doll”. Slowly but surely you felt yourself getting more comfortable. You couldn’t tell if you were flirting, or doll was 40’s slang for dude, but it was definitely distracting you.
As you walked through the tower you felt like you were in the most luxury maze the world had to offer. Everything looked too expensive to ever breath on, but it somehow managed to also feel cozy.
Suddenly becoming an avenger sounded more and more appealing. After what felt like forever, Bucky stopped in front of a room labeled “Little Witch”. Slowly he opened the door, “It used to be Wanda’s but her and Vision moved out”.
You’d heard about Wanda before, and in all honesty she’d sounded kickass. Her room was the perfect mixture of cozy and minimalistic. There was a tv, artwork on the walls, a guitar, a beautiful bed, and a desk.
“Well this sure beats sharing a bed with someone who snores like a fighter jet”.
While you weren’t completely lying, you knew that in reality you’d miss the company of sleeping next to Wade. He was the only one who could make your nightmares vanish with one bad joke.
Bucky walked toward the window, “How long have you and Wade known each other?”. It was half curiosity, and half wondering if he’d been flirting with a taken woman. He watched as you laughed to yourself.
You began to reminisce, “Too long...but not that long..everything after the lab just feels like a whole new world”. Bucky wasn’t sure if he’d heard you correctly. Had you both been more connected than he’d thought?
Reading your body language he could tell that you’d felt as though you've shared too much and let something big slip. So maybe he had heard you correctly. Anyways, he’d never pry, he’d experienced enough of people poking and prodding to ever do it himself.
Trying to switch subjects you placed your bag down onto your new bed and asked, “So I was promised waffles?”. Bucky let things smoothly transition, and internally you let out a sigh of relief. He grinned, “You’re looking at the best waffle maker in all of Brooklyn”.
Bucky was going to cook you breakfast? Maybe you’d really went to the fight with Wade, died, and gone to heaven. You could feel your stomach beginning to grumble with the mention of food, “Wow, I didn’t know I was in the presence of such royalty”.
Teasingly he bowed, “It’s okay doll, I’m not holding my diamond-encrusted spatula so how were you supposed to know?”. To have the conversation flow so smoothly calmed your nerves.
You’d been afraid that the avengers were as uptight as Wade joked. Humor, especially the self-deprecating kind, was the key to handling all the complete and utter bullshit life threw your way.
If there was anything you’d learned from Wade it was that jokes were like a liferaft in a sea of despair.  Either you can let sadness swallow you whole, or laugh in its face. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth trying.
“Well your highness, however shall I repay you for my ungracious naivety?”.
Bucky grinned, were you flirting with him in old english? He found you surprisingly intoxicating. He tried to look regal, “Hmm since it was an honest mistake, and clearly not out of malice, I believe all would be forgiven over a movie ”.
You both were back out into the hallway now, “A movie?”. Was he already asking you on a date? For the first time in a long time you felt butterflies in your stomach. Bucky continued to lead you back toward the kitchen, “Preferably Disney”.
Although the world knew him as a trained assassin, his closest friends knew him as a huge disney fan. Bucky secretly blamed Steve for it, but the movies were so good that he couldn’t truly complain.
You jumped up and sat on the kitchen counter, “Lilo and Stitch?”. Bucky had begun to get the various ingredients from the fridge, and as his back was now to you, you couldn’t see his smile.
“Good choice”.
The kitchen was filled with laughter, the both of you enjoying how it felt to get along so effortlessly. It was rare that Bucky could feel comfortable around someone he’d just met, let alone really begin to like them.
You watched as he began to make the mix from scratch. You were amazed, “Wow so you’re not just a pretty face”. It was somewhat forward of you, but you were testing the waters. Bucky took the bait, “Just you wait and see doll”.
He’d matched your forwardness, and thus you both knew how interested the other was. Plus, now you knew doll was the same thing as babygirl or princess. But it sounded a lot better leaving his lips, as if he knew exactly how to drive a girl wild.
“I’m starting to think you’re a huge flirt and that whole cold and aloof assassin vibe is just a front”.
Bucky’s smirk grew. He enjoyed your teasing, “Oh doll, you should’ve seen me back in the day”. As he reminisced he started to laugh softly to himself. It was nice to feel like that part of his life wasn’t so far away for once.
Flirting with you had rekindled something deep within himself. You watched in delight as he finally poured the mix into the maker. Your stomach was louder than Wade’s snoring by now.
“If that waffle tastes as good as it smells, then I can only imagine how much of a lady killer you were”.
With the sound of footsteps you were both awoken from your little love trance. Sam hadn’t meant to ruin the moment, but he’d needed to find Bucky. He apologized, “Sorry, but Steve said he needs both of us in the conference room asap”.
Bucky turned to you, “Guess I’ll need a raincheck on that movie then (y/n)”. You nodded your head and smiled, trying to ignore how much you hated the thought of Bucky already leaving.
Sam looked truly sad, “It was nice to meet you (y/n)”. You told him the same and allowed him to leave the kitchen with Bucky. Although you were now alone, at least the waffles would be done in a minute or so.
With a sigh you tried to pull yourself up and remind yourself how great of a start this had already been. Bucky was more wonderful than you could’ve imagined, and he seemed to really like you too.
As much as this situation sucked, it seemed like the beginning of something good. Maybe the universe had finally felt bad for constantly handing you the shit- end of the stick, maybe for once things were about to change for the better.
“Steve, we can’t keep her here and you know that. She was in Pierce’s back pocket and in case you’ve forgotten that was the man who infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. in the name of HYDRA”.
Steve sighed, he wished that Tony had never done that digging because it had changed everything. It had revealed that you had some skeletons in your closet, some big ones, and that you possibly weren’t as innocent as you seemed.
They had reached a crossroads and were left wondering if you were just another Hydra assassin, or just an innocent person caught in the crossfire. Things were about to get serious, and some people were about to get seriously hurt.

@whygz Sorry the second one took so long! I’m still working through this and have a few other prompt responses in the works right now. <3 But thank you for being so patient, and I hope this Tamaki one is as satisfying or helpful as Finding Strength with Shinsou was!
Summary: With a little help from his best friend, Tamaki was able to meet up with you and draw you out of your room for a walk. While most of it was spent in silence, the few words that were shared carried the weight of monologues and deep conversation as he did his best to reassure and comfort you once you opened up about your depression.
Reader: Female
Words: 1346
For days, you came up with excuses and shallow reasons to avoid company. Sometimes you’d dip and go to your room, and other times you’d visit the library until it closed. Anywhere was fine, as long as you didn’t have to entertain someone. It didn’t really matter since  you felt just as lonely and empty all the same. At this point, it felt like so little mattered, and certainly not you. Still, part of you wished that someone would see through your excuses. You just needed someone to prove that they cared enough to see past your lies and fake smiles, and that they truly knew you beyond the person you pretended to be- that you had to be in order to make it as a hero. Maybe then you’d finally be able to believe someone when they said you could always talk to them, and that you would never be a burden.
With a soft sigh, you flicked the light off and laid down. Silence fell over your room and everything was so quiet and still that you could hear your neighbors. You even heard the footsteps before the knock on your door. ‘Maybe they’ll think I’m not in since the lights are off,’ you hoped to yourself.
“(Y/N), I’m gonna peek my head in to make sure you’re not in there.”
You sat up, your brows knitted together in the darkness. It wasn’t like Mirio to abuse his quirk like that, which meant his visit was actually of importance.
“Sorry about making you wait,” you apologized as you opened the door. To your surprise, the first person you saw wasn’t the blond your were expecting, but your dark haired and pointy eared partner instead. “T-Tamaki?” you stuttered on his name.
Before you knew it, Tamaki was falling forward into your arms following a gentle push from Mirio. “Tamaki’s been worried about you, so you guys should talk,” the No. 1 Hero aspiree explained. You looked down to see your boyfriend’s face and how red it was with an embarrassed blush.
“Uh.. yeah. Thanks, Togata.” You felt incredibly awkward and weren’t sure of what else to say as the blond departed.
“Do you mind if we go on a walk?” he asked gently as he stood out of your arms, bringing his eyes to meet yours. You nodded and grabbed your shoes, locked your door, and set out with him to walk one of the familiar paths around U.A.
For the better half of an hour, you two walked in silence with each other. Normally the quietness between you two was very comfortable, but tonight wasn’t quite normal, and it felt tense and ominous to you. You kept your eyes ahead of you, avoiding Tamaki as your mind overloaded with endless “what if”s that centered around one of the strongest students in the school finally realizing that he could do so, so much better than you. Hell, maybe he realized that he didn’t need you once you started to pull away and withdraw into yourself.
“It’s hard for me to bring this up...” His soft voice drew your attention, and for the first time since starting you walk, you looked over to him. He looked incredibly saddened and pained, and your heart twisted so tightly, you failed to take a breath and choked on your own emptiness. This was it, wasn’t it? Tamaki sighed, clearly doing his best to muster up the courage to do what needed to be done. “...but did I do something wrong, (Y/N), that pushed you away?”
“Huh?” The question was so far from what you expected that your first response was a simple sound of confusion. You gently placed your hand on your partner’s arm and stopped, guiding him to pause and turn towards you so your eyes could meet. “What’s… wrong, Tamaki? I don’t know what would make you think something like that.”
“It feels like you’ve been avoiding me,” he confessed, looking to you for some sort of answer that wouldn’t just leave him assuming. “I haven’t seen you outside of class for a few weeks… I’m worried I did something to upset you.”
This time, you sighed. Your soft gaze held his as you shook your head and then wrapped your arms around him, pulling him into a hug. “No, it’s not… it’s not like that at all. You haven’t upset me in the slightest.” Even though you were earnest in your intention and words, your voice was still burdened with a sadness that didn’t reassure him. You stepped back and saw that your boyfriend didn’t take what you said to heart, and you turned away to start walking again, your arms coming up so you hugged yourself.
“The truth is… I just don’t feel like anyone really cares about me. And if no one really cares about me when I’m happy and okay, it would just be rude and bothersome to burden them when I’m down and depressed, y’know?”
While Tamaki started walking with you again, he returned to his silence as he listened to you. As rhetorical as your “y’know” might have been, he certainly didn’t treat it that way.
“I do. But I also know better than to believe those feelings.”
His words stung, as if he was chiding you and pointing out how stupid you were for believing such negative feelings. Your eyes turned farther away, your face angling so he could hardly see it while you walked. What were you supposed to say to that? While you kept your attention off of him, you heard another sigh and couldn’t help but feel like a disappointment.
“...Before we started dating, I always felt like I just bothered you. How could someone like you like someone so quiet and boring? If I listened to that feeling instead of seeing the way you smiled at me, or the little things you did out of consideration… we would never have happened, (Y/N).” His words came gently, neither condescending nor rushed. The sincerity of it was clear, as well as his intention. If people believed everything they felt, they would miss how things truly were sometimes. There was something to be said for instinct and intuition- those were actually very functional- but depression and self deprecation? Most of the time, if not nearly every time, those didn’t have a function to fulfill. They didn’t protect. They didn’t inform. They simply hindered and hurt.
The two of you fell quiet again as your path began to take you back towards the dorms. As much as you may have wanted to be completely reassured by his words, things didn’t quite work like that. But after several minutes and significantly more steps, you were able to stop holding onto your arm and reached for his hand instead. It was rare that you two would show much affection outside of your rooms or places you felt comfortable enough to, but tonight seemed to be the exception to it. The hug from earlier and now holding each other’s hands was a boldness that only came in light of the sadness that went unshared between you two. So of course he would welcome a hug and your touch- and of course you wanted to touch and to hold him.
“I’m sorry, Tamaki.” You squeezed his hand as you two walked. “Would it be…” The way you trailed off, followed by the deep breath you took, was telling of just how hard this really was for you. A long walk and a few words wasn’t enough to remedy years and years of now hardwired thinking habits, but it was enough to open yourself to the idea of change. “Would it be alright if… if we could spend time together after class more often, then? Even if I’m depressed?”
You saw his dark, indigo eyes meet yours as he turned his face slightly. A short, sweet gaze was held until you saw a soft smile tug at his lips just before he nodded.
“Of course, (Y/N). I’ve missed you.”

From @angelfuzzy2:
Can I ask what If like , rami(Freddie Mercury) gets a co-star in the bohemian Rhapsody movie right (it’s au) and the actress sings in the movie , but in real life is a pop star , and rami(and Freddie ) falls for her ( like how David Bowie sang in labyrinth, but he’s a real-life singer)
Just had a weird idea , so it’s on the set of bohemian Rhapsody right and Brian May (the person. Not actor) sees someone on set , someone he knew a long time ago , (like when Freddie was still alive) (and they lost touch after Freddie was gone ) and they just reconnect their Friendship and she’s an actress, like a really famous one also
2303 words
*A/N: I’m sorry this took so long, It was Christmas break so I was abusing my liver every other night and then it’s back to Uni and I was distracted all week but IT’S FINALLY HERE. I combined two asks from the same person but ANYWAY, I hope you enjoy. I tried not to make it too long but I also didn’t want to half-ass this.*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Auditioning is the worst. God, I love my job but sometimes I feel like all the stress and anxiety and hot compresses to my pounding forehead just aren’t worth it. Of course, I know that’s not true. Especially in this case. This movie is supposed to be huge, a biopic of Freddie Mercury, and as if this wasn’t enough, my father used to work for Queen back in his roadie days when I was little. I doubt they’d even remember him, or me for that matter, I was just a baby after all. Regardless of that, the audition jitters are very strong today. I fidget in my seat as I wait for the auditioner before me to finish. I keep looking at the actresses faces as they come out of the room...it’s not looking too good for me.
The door opens and I look up, she doesn’t look too confident about whatever happened in that room. She catches my eyes and shakes her head, gathering her things, “can’t win em’ all.” she sighs, “good luck in there.”
I smile weakly. I feel like I could vomit, I’m so nervous. I’m the last audition of the day, casting directors are all usually very tired at the end of the day, it’s never a fun time for anyone when they’re in a mood. I hear the door open once more and looking up. A man beckons me inside.
Well, this is it. I take a breath, stand up and adjust my posture. Confidence is key in this industry. I carry myself, chin up high and a wide smile as I walk into the room. It falters as the people in the room look at me and I realize who’s faces are looking back at me.
Brian May. Roger Taylor. Two of the biggest rock stars in the world looking back at me. My confidence drains. This is going to be harder than I thought. They look down at my resume, before clearing their throats.
“ Y/F/N Y/L/N” Roger reads out loud and I see Brian’s brow furrow as I nod.
“Y/L/N,” Brian says softly, “Why does that sound so familiar? Are you very popular in this industry.” his eyes pierce mine, and although he smiles warmly at me, I can tell he means business right now. A long day of disappointing auditions, he’s tired.
I clear my throat, “Uh, I’ve done a few movies, I also have a few albums out as well.” I pause, unsure if I should continue. Brian goes to speak and I can’t help myself. Afraid that my background is not enough, I word vomit everywhere.
“You might know my father though. His name is Y/FATHERS/N, he told me he used to work for you guys back in the mid 80’s when I was a baby. So I mean technically this isn’t even our first time meeting and I wasn’t going to say anything. I was afraid this made it sound like I’m trying to use my fathers’ connection to you guys to get the job and I’m really not trying to do that. I really hope you guys don’t think that is the case. I am very professional and would never d-”
Someone finally cuts me off, “Dear, calm down, you’re fine.” Brian chuckles warmly, clearly amused at my rambling, “I do remember, your father. In fact, he was a dear friend of ours, we were very sad when he left us.”
“Of course we understood, he had his family to think of and of course he did a wonderful job, considering how lovely and talented you’ve become.” Roger cuts in.
I blush and look down, “Thank you, but please save the compliments until after the audition. I’d like to earn my spot fair and square.”
They nod, faces turning serious once more, “Alright then.” Brian says, “shall we?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m nervous again.  I got the job, they gave it to me on the spot. Apparently, I’m just what they envisioned for the part, but I can’t help but feel like my father’s connection had something to do with it. I mean come on, out of all the interviews they did, there has to be another actress they liked equal to me..right?
I shake my head, pushing my own insecurities away. Now is not the time to get in my head about things. I pull into the set parking lot and look at the time. I’m early, like super early. I figure it can’t hurt to be punctual. I find my way through the large building, only getting lost a few times before I find Brian and Roger standing just offset. When Brian sees me his face lights up.
“Y/F/N, Darling!” He gives me a small hug, “How are we feeling today? Ready to get the ball rolling.”
I nod, smiling widely at him. Since the audition, he and Roger had reconnected with my family once more. It was almost like I had known him my whole life. Before I can say anything, a voice calls out to him.
“Hey Brian, I’m so sorry to bother you but I just wanted your opinion on something Freddie would’ve done real quick-” The voice stops when he realizes I’m there.
“Rami Malek,” Brian smiles, clapping him on the shoulder, “This is, “y/f/n y/l/n, she’ll be playing the female entertainer role for the Live Aid scene.”
The actor's eyes flick to me and he nods, taking my hand in his and bringing it to his lips softly, “enchanté. I actually just bought your album, like a few weeks ago.”
“Well, it’s very nice to meet you, Rami.” I can feel the blush rising high on my cheeks and I curse myself for getting so flustered so easily, I’m a professional, dammit.
“Now then, Rami lets go tough this thing out and y/n,” Brian smiles at you warmly, “They’re expecting you in hair and makeup.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I always told myself I was never going to be that girl. I was never going to be that actress who fell for her co-star. Although my part in the movie was shot fairly quickly, Brian kept me around to help out anyone who needed it. But spending more time on set meant spending more time with Rami, which at first was great. He’d always bring me a coffee to set in the mornings, seek me out for lunch and invite me to his trailer when we had any spare time. I found myself wanting to be around him more, more, more. He was addicting. But unfortunately, my growing crush hadn’t seemed to be returned. That was, until now?
“You want me to what?” I asked him, still choking on the coffee stuck in my windpipe.
Rami, the little shit, is holding back his laughter as he shrugs, “I want to practice this scene with you, is that so wrong?” He asks.
I shake my head, “No, but I just- are you sure? You’ve never asked me to do this before. Wouldn’t it make sense to practice this with Lucy? I mean it is her the scene is with.”
His face is twisted with a mix of amusement and hurt, “Well damn y/k, I didn’t think I was so undesirable.” He puts his hands on his hips and sticks one out, an authentic Freddie mannerism that he’s adopted, “Besides, you practice lines with Ben and Gwil all the time.”
I push at his shoulder playfully, “Shut up, you are not undesirable you fucking drama queen.” I shake my head playfully, “You just took me by surprise, c’mon let’s do this.” I snatch the script from his hand as I stand up to face him. He hesitates a second before I grab his wrist and pull him up, “come on.” I insist.
He smiles and shakes his head, “Alright.” He clears his throat and switches into character.
“Well? What do you think?” He asks in Freddie's voice, he even does a little spin for good measure. I struggle to keep my laughter in.
“I think it looks lovely,” I say softly, “Although...” I pause, taking off the scarf that I just so happen to be wearing, how convenient, and wrapping it around his neck and turning him around to face a hypothetical mirror, “much better.”
We pause for second as I play with the scarf and turn him back around to face me before I continue my lines, “I love dressing you, you have such an exotic look that you can actually pull off these styles.”
His eyes never leave me, he doesn’t have to check the script, “I’m a firm believer that a model can only look as good as the person who dresses them, my dear.” He says softly, almost bashfully, as if he’s nervous about something. “My god, Mary, you are absolutely....beautiful.” His hands grip my arms tightly, his eyes burning into my own. Before I can even think about what my next line is, his lips are on mine.
His lips are soft as they move against mine. The kiss is slow, and dare I say, passionate? When he pulls away I find myself leaning forward, following the warmth of his lips. My eyes flutter open and meet his as I let out a breath, “That wasn’t in the script.” I whisper.
He laughs softly, breath fanning out across my lips, “I know but I just...” He pauses, bringing his hand up to cup my face and softly drag his thumb across my cheekbone, “couldn’t help myself.”
I lean in to kiss him softly again, and we stay like that for a while. It could have been a minute or ten but when he finally pulls away, his eyes look determined, “I want to take you out on a date,” he says, “have dinner with me.”
I smile, “How is dinner any different than our usual lunch dates?” I tease, pulling away to see his whole face. He wiggles his eyebrows at me playfully
“You’ll see.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dinner is nothing like lunch.
Lunch is us piling our plates high with too much food and escaping to his trailer before anyone can ask us to sit with them. Dinner is, private, romantic and oh so very aesthetic in his London apartment. One may have thought that going on a date with someone in the Hollywood industry would mean the most expensive lobster at a 5-star restaurant with 10 courses, limos, and champagne. But Rami keeps it very simple. Simple but not at all disappointing. To be fair, he probably could have just taken me to a Subway and I would have been content. But what he had done was amazing.
First of all, he cooked. YEah. Rami Malek, cooked, for me. A wonderful meal with salad and dessert and everything. And it was, phenomenal.
“Oh my god, Rami.” I practically moaned out, “this is amazing.” I stare at him in disbelief. He shrugs,
“My mom taught us all to cook, it was a big family thing. Everyone helped out at dinner.”
I shook my head lightly, shoving another bite in my mouth, “I can’t believe you’ve been making me eat crappy set food all this time.”
Second of all,  he decorated. String lights set up so the traced the entire perimeter of the room. Candles set up on nearly every surface. Coffee tables, kitchen table, counters. He had even set the table before I even got there.
Last, but far from least, the way he looked at me all night. God. What did I do to deserve to have Rami Malek look at me like I was the only person who was relevant. Like every word I said contained the secret to saving the world. I have never felt so wanted on a first date.
After we ate and did the dishes (I insisted on helping, much to his disapproval), he brought me to the living room and we cuddled up on the couch to watch a movie. Everything felt so, easy. I didn’t feel like a first date, it felt like we had been doing this the whole time.
I’m laying with my head on his chest, his arm draped across my back, his breathing is steady but his heart is beating rapidly. I smile to myself, knowing mine is doing the exact thing. Being around him is exhilarating. And my god, if it didn’t feel so natural. I can feel his eyes on the side of my face as I watch the movie.
“You’re going to miss the best part.” I joke, not taking my eyes off the screen. He chuckles against my shoulder softly, it’s a beautiful sound.
“Sorry,” he says, softly kissing my shoulder. After a few moments of silence before he speaks again, “Can I ask you something?” I nod and he takes a second to think over what he wants to say, “Do you think it’s kind of weird how easy this feels?”
I turn my head to look at him, “I was thinking the same thing.”
It’s quiet for a moment as we both process our thoughts. My eyes scan his face, “I don’t-” I pause, unsure if I want to say this or not, “I don’t want this to be a one-time thing.”
He shakes his head and kisses me, “Me neither.” He kisses me again, “I’ve fallen for you, a lot harder than I had been expecting.” His eyes bore into mine, “Y/n, I know this is kind of crazy but...I think I love you.”
I can’t help the smile that creeps up onto my lips, I take his head in between my hands and kiss him again, god I could really get used to that, “I love you too, Rami.”

Won’t Go Slowly // 13

One // Two  // Three // Four // Five // Six // Seven // Eight // Nine // Ten // Eleven // Twelve
A/N:  It had to be awkward at first guys, okay?  I”M SORRY  Thanks to @inthebyf for beta reading this one for me :)
The thing was you weren't really a casual sex kind of person.  And he was.
Which was fine, really, it wasn't that you were morally against hook-ups.  It just wasn't your style.  You'd done the friends with benefits thing once and it was fine and good, but you'd really moved beyond that.
Which meant, pretty much, that when you weren't in a relationship, you weren't getting laid.
But this was difference. This was sex with a purpose.  And it was Tyler, for God's sake.  You trusted him, probably more that anyone else.  You hadn't really thought that you could grow any closer than you already were, but somehow you had, through this process.  He'd already seen you at the most vulnerable you'd ever been and, even then, you didn't feel like you had to hide from him.
Going to the clinic had felt, well, clinical.  It felt so long since you'd actually been touched properly, without your legs spread wide, trying to breathe and avoid focus on the gloved hand prodding between your legs, the fluorescent light bright in your eyes.
At this point, you knew you'd do anything in your power to start your family.  But you also just wanted to feel like a woman again.
And maybe you could do both.
"Cold?" Tyler asked.  It was a few days later and you were sitting in his backyard by the fire.  It had rained for practically four days straight, and you'd listened to him bitch and moan about the weather the whole time.  So, when there was finally a break in the weather tonight, he'd insisted that you'd go outside.  Even though you weren't exactly dressed for it, having come over wearing the maxi skirt and shirt you'd worn to work, because the sun had started to peak out during the day.   But now it was getting a little windy, and every time a little bit of wind blew up your skirt, you'd break out it goosebumps.
You shook your head, pulling the blanket you had across your back tighter around your arms, over his hoodie you were wearing.  "No, it's just...damp," you said, and you could see him nod out of the corner of your eye, the fire crackling loudly.
"Jesus," you swore under your breath when Gerry suddenly jumped up into your lap, his front paws digging into your skin, but his back legs slipping against your knees, and you reached to pull him the rest of the way up, even though he was really getting too big for this.
Tyler laughed especially as Gerry kept walking around in your lap and you tried to stop him from falling all the while wincing when his nails kept digging into your skin, "Lay down or you have to get off," you said to the dog, which made Tyler laugh harder and you looked at him out of the corner of your eye, "He needs his nails clipped. And you need to tell him he's not a puppy anymore."
Thankfully, Gerry had finally laid down, but he was heavy and you essentially couldn't move, especially as he had decided to rest his head against your arm.
"He's still a puppy," Tyler whined, leaning over to pet Gerry on the head, "He's just trying to keep you warm.  Don't be mean to him."
"He's not a puppy," you laughed.
"Yes, he is," Tyler protested, "The older ones have already fallen asleep on the couch because it's past their bedtime, and it's just the baby who still wants to hang out with with us."
You laughed, especially because you were pretty sure that Gerry was already starting to snore from where he was laid across you, but you were pretty sure you were never going to be able to convince Tyler otherwise.
You fell into a comfortable silence, your head tilting back to look up at the sky but you couldn't even see the stars through the thick clouds.  "Do you think it's going to rain again?" you asked.
"Nope," Tyler said quite decidedly.  He was wearing shorts like it was a warm summer night, but you'd also noticed that he'd put on a hoodie, too.
Eventually, Gerry jumped off your lap, retreating into the house, probably to join his brothers on the couch, your lap getting too uncomfortable.
"And then there were two," Tyler mused.
You swallowed, and you were quiet for a moment, brushing all the dog hair off of you, and then you asked, "Tyler?" like there was someone else around or he wouldn't listen to you unless you said his name first, which was ridiculous, really.
"Hmm?"
"I think we should do it," you said quietly, and his head turned to you, confusion arched on his features.
"Do it?" he repeated under his breath, like he was still trying to figure out what you were talking about.  "You mean like 'it-it'?"
"Yeah," you said, but he didn't say anything.  And you couldn't really see the expression on his face fully because of the dark, the light from the first just illuminating parts of it, and you were beginning to wonder if he'd changed his mind, and just how the hell you were going to talk yourself out of this one when his face was suddenly in front of yours, his lips pressing solidly against yours.
"Oh!" you exclaimed, jumping back away from him.
He sat back immediately in his own chair, his hand raising to scratch through his hair in what seemed like a combination of confusion and nervousness, "What did you....?  Did I...?"
"Nothing," you answered, somehow seeming to understand what he was asking you even though it was incomplete, "You just...startled me."
"I startled you?" he said, quirking his lips like he was amused.
"Yeah," you said, "I wasn't expecting you to....just come at me like that."
"Well, sorry," he said insincerely, like he had nothing to apologize for at all.  This time though, he leaned over, his hand going to cup your jaw, and he was looking at you seriously.  "I'm going to kiss you now.  Just a warning," he said in mock seriousness, but he started laughing under his breath just as you did.
This time, his lips were so much much softer against yours, moving gently against yours, like he was feeling you out, his hand still braced on the side of your face, holding your head twisted towards him.  It had been so long that you had been kissed properly, that you felt your toes stretching in your sandals, your chest constricting in a way that was neither pleasurable or painful. It was just...different.
He pulled back to breathe, his hand falling away, his fingers catching on a strand of hair, and you looked past him, towards the lights in the house.  "Shouldn't we go inside?"
"You in a rush or something? Got somewhere to be?" he asked, laughing like he was entertained by your question.  "You can come closer though."
And you were trying to figure out how that would even be possible, but he was prying your hand off the armrest of the Adirondack chair your were sitting it, tugging at your arm like you should stand up, and then pulling you towards him once you were out of the chair, the blanket that had been draped around your shoulders falling to the ground, and you tried to bend down to pick it up, he stopped you, his other arm coming out.
"It's going to get dirty," you protested, still trying to pick it up, but he really was a lot stronger than you were.
"It's fine," he laughed, his hands sliding to grip your forearms, "just sit down."
You were wondering where he was expecting you to sit, until you realized he was tugging your towards his lap, and you kind of tripped over your shoe, your flip flop sliding off and landing next to the chair, pulling you to straddle his legs.  "See, was that so hard?" he mocked, his hands bracing across your back to hold you steady.  You didn't have time to contemplate this, because then he was muttering something about 'better', and then he was kissing you again, deeper but unhurried.
His tongue swept into your mouth, softly at first, and then with focus, and this whole time you'd just been expecting to straight-up bang, but here you were just making out in his backyard. Your hands came up of their own accord, knocking his hat of his head it landed on the ground, probably near your shoe, your fingers coming to tangle in his hair.  He didn't let up though, instead, just groaning and almost pressing into you deeper, and you suddenly became aware of just how hard his thighs felt between your spread legs.
The wind swirled around you again, but you didn't get goosebumps this time, instead just sort of exhaling into his mouth  with a shiver. He breathed back hard against you, his fingers tucking under the hoodie and then the shirt you were wearing, coming around your front and crawling upwards, his other hand braced across your back.  You were aware of just how big and warm his hand was as it moved over your belly, pushing under your bra, coming to cup your breast.  It was a tight fit, because he had his hand shoved in your bra without even taking it off, and you could feel the fabric pulling everywhere else but you didn't really care, because you were just kissing him and he felt so warm and comfortable, the fire crackling behind you, the cool water droplets falling over you, just a couple at first, and then beginning to pound on the ground behind you and....wait, what?
"Shit," Tyler mumbled, once the downpour had really started.  And then you were pushing yourself up off him, raising your hands over your head in a futile attempt to stay dry, feeling around with your foot in what was quickly turning into mud for your other shoe.  You gave up pretty fast, though, running towards the house lopsided with your single flip-flop, finally having the mindset to pull the hood over your head once you were already halfway to the house.  The door was ajar so you pushed in the rest of the way open, slipping inside, Tyler right on your heels.  All three dogs were laid out across the sectional, lifting their heads up as you both stumbled inside, looking at you like you were crazy for disturbing them.
"Guess you were right," he said, and you turned around as he flicked his hood off, his grey hoodie darkened with rain, and you supposed yours look the same.  It was different now that you were back inside in the light where you could really see him, his hair sticking up in all different directions from where you'd been running your hands through it, his lips wet and swollen, and he had a dark look in his eyes, one that you'd never seen before.
He pulled his hoodie up and off over his head, tossing it over the back of the chair, and then repeating the same action with his t-shirt. "You're going to get cold," he said, pointing at the bottom of the hoodie you were wearing.  When you just stood there, he took two steps towards you, gripping the bottom of it pulling it off, and you raised your arms so he could do so.  The fabric came over your face, engulfing you in darkness for a moment but as soon as it was gone, his lips were right against yours again, his hand at the back of your head, and shivered as your damp hair brushed against the back of your neck.
His hands went up under your shirt, feeling surprisingly warm against your skin, running them up and down your sides a couple of times, breaking the kiss to pull your shirt from your body quickly, his hand sneaking around to undo the clasp of your bra before your even realized it, walking you backwards.  Your hand instinctively grasped your chest before your bra could start to fall away and he tilted his head off to the side, looking at you curiously, "You planning to have sex with your bra on, or....?" He was laughing, but you were suddenly feeling self-conscious.
"I'm not used to this," you tried to explain, but he gave you a pathetic look.
"I know for a fact you're not a virgin," he said, " and you let me feel you up, so just let me see."
His hand was crawling up your stomach, even as he continued walking you back towards his bedroom.  "C'mon, let me see your tits," he said playfully, and you laughed, your arms finally dropping away from your front, and he tentatively pulled your bra away, his eyes immediately dropping downwards.  "You're fucking gorgeous," he said in a whisper, his immediately cupping your breasts like he couldn't resist not touching you, but he took one away to turn on the light in the bedroom, and you blinked at the brightness.
"Sorry," he muttered, turning the dimmer down so the light was a more acceptable level, pushing the bedroom door closed with a slight bang, and you jumped.  He was back on you again, your chests pressed together.  He was kissing you, moving you back so you were sitting on the side of the bed, falling over you, his hand pushing your skirt up, settling on your creamy thigh.
" You can touch me y'know," he said with a chuckle and you realized your arms had been set at your sides the whole time.  He pulled back from you slowly but kept his hand on your waist, rolling onto his side and giving you a little smile, "Everything still okay?"
You nodded dutifully, and he just propped his  head up onto his hand and grinned, "So are you always this uptight in bed then?"
You laughed, because he was laughing along with you.  You didn't think you were typically so tense anyways, but you were used to kissing progressing to touching, progressing to gradually nudity.  You weren't used to, well, going straight for the home run all in one night.
He stood up suddenly and then sat back down just as quickly and you let out a crazy giggle, because he looked like a little bunny or something.  "What are you doing?"
"I was going to get you a drink to try and help you loosen up but then I remembered you're not drinking right now," he explained.  He looked at you kind of weird for a moment, his hand going to your ankles and spinning you so you were the right was on the bed. "So, your tits are already out so I'm just going to get rid of this, mmm?"
He tugged on your skirt, and it came off so fast it was like a magic trick.  He tossed it behind him, not even going for your panties, and he leaned over to pull the comforter up, pulling it over you both as he laid over you, dampening all the light in the room.  "You just need to relax," he said, his lips wet against you.  He kissed you, just once, a quick peck, and then he was sliding down your body, his hand rubbing over your boob, massaging it and circling your nipple, hardening it under his palm.  He didn't move down your body like you thought he would, but basically attacked your chest, licking and kissing and nibbling all over your sensitive skin, and you were just starting to feel that ache between your legs again that had started to develop when you were outside, and it was starting to get hot underneath the blanket.  When Tyler seemed to be done, he rested his cheek across your chest and said shyly, "I really, really like these."
You laughed hard, and he started moving further down.  But you guessed incorrectly that he was going for your panties this time, but he just kissed down your belly and once on your hip and then came back up, throwing the covers off of mouth of your heads.
"Hi;" he said, popping his head up, hovering over you.
"Hi," you responded, grasping the back of his head and pulling him back hard to you, kissing him more enthusiastically.
"There you go," he muttered against the side of your lips, kissing you back just a bit and then moving away, sitting back so most of the blankets fell to the foot of the bed, his hand  settling on your hip and looking up at you.  "How long has it been?"
You shrugged as much as you could while laying down, "Like, 7 or 8 months?"
"7 or 8 months?!" he repeated in disbelief, his mouth even falling open a bit, and you were just trying to ignore the fact that you were practically naked on the bed in front of him. He kind of frowned a bit, and then his hand began sliding into your underwear.
"Yeah, uh...whenever Daniel was in town last," you said, and then your eyes widened when you realized that you were rambling.  Tyler's finger was poking an your entrance, just sliding on finger slowly inside you, but his eyes snapped up to yours.
"But, you broke up with him, like, over a year ago?  Did you get back together?"
"No," you said quietly.
Tyler grinned at you then, eyebrows raised, even as his finger was still pumping in and out of you slowly, "Oh really?"
"Yeah, can we not talk about this now?" you asked, shifting on the bed.  Or like ever.
He laughed loudly, and then moved over you a little bit more, adding in a second finger but keeping up his slow pace, "Yeah, yeah, okay."
He experimentally applied a bit of pressure to your clit with his thumb and you shifted a little biting your lip, but he was still frowning, looking all over your body, "You can enjoy this, you know?  It doesn't have to be all...business."
You laughed because you really were tense, your arms practically lifted off the bed.
"You know you're more likely to get pregnant if you get off, right?" Tyler continued,  "Also, I'm going to be really upset with myself if I can't get you to cum so if you could help me out a bit and just relax, that'd be great."
He said it so easily, you couldn't help but laugh, and he came up to kiss you, keeping that one hand in your panties, the other going to your side and you shivered, trying to adjust your head on the pillow.  You let your eyes fall shut, finally noticing the sound of the pounding rain on the roof, trying to focus on something other than the fact that your best friend literally had his hand inside you.
You exhaled, hard through your nose, because his fingers felt so rough and weathered against your sensitive walls, but his touch was fairly soft and gentle.  He circled your clit steadily and you sighed, your legs falling further apart.  He made a little noise, and then you could feel him get a little more frantic, the sensations all disappearing, and then your panties were being tugged down your legs.  You opened your eyes just to see him slide his two fingers out of his mouth.  But you didn't even have time to process that, because he was thrusting them right back inside you, palm face up this time, his fingers curved so they hit your g-spot right away.
"Oh!" you cried out embarrassingly loud, your back arching hard off the bed.  You felt like you should be embarrassed  you really did, but Tyler just growled, his hand fucking into you harder, his palm pressing against your clit which each movement, and you were definately throbbing, and you could both hear and feel just how soaked you'd gotten, all at once, and all you could think about what that he just needed to fucking get inside you already before you completely lost it.  Your hand had gone down, pinching at your sensitive nipple, which only made you pulse harder.
"Mmmm...fuck," Tyler swore, capturing your lips harshly, panting hard against you.  He somehow managed to add a third finger, and you were aware that he was trying to stretch you out, but all that you could focus on was meeting the movements of his mouth, his body heavy and hot over yours, panting against you.
You pawed at his back and he shifted over you just slightly, and you realized that he'd taken his shorts off at some point because you could definately feel all of him brushing over your thigh.  You moaned at the sensation and he paused, grinning cheekily and pressed into you hard.  He was watching you for your reaction cockily, which was really intimidating, but you still couldn't stop yourself from letting out a breathless whimper.
"Holy shit," he said, his expression changing immediately, kissing you with purpose, his fingers slipping from you and latching onto your side, "that noise."
You could feel the head of his cock right there, settled at your entrance, and Tyler's head dropped to the side, kissing up and down your neck hurriedly, "You're so wet..." he muttered, nibbling a little more, "do you think you can....?"
He was slowly pushing inside you, even though his arms were tensing on either side of your head, like he was trying to force himself to stop, and your eyes widened in alarm, your hand going to his chest.  "Mmmm....Tyler...wait..."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing," you said quickly, because he looked concerned, "Just...do you have a condom?"
You realized what you'd said as soon as it had come out of your mouth, but that didn't stop him from practically lifting himself all the way up off you, and looking at you like you were an idiot.  "Yeah, that'd kinda defeat the purpose here."
"Habit," you explained, your hand trying to go to his back to pull him back down, to let him know that you were okay.
"Well, I'm really glad you're practicing safe sex," he said, and you blushed, but he probably didn't see it because he laid back down over you.  "You ready?" he whispered into your ear, and you thought you nodded against him, but you really just thought he was giving you an opening to speak up if you weren't okay, because he was already pushing slowly inside you, and you kind of shuddered because the stretched was burning just a little.
"Shh...shhh...shh..." he whispered, even though you weren't saying anything, his hands roaming all over your body.  "Breathe."
You tried, even though you didn't think you could, because it felt like your lungs were being pushed up too high in your body.  He only stilled once he was all the way inside you, kissing you really gently and leisurely like his dick wasn't inside you but, somehow, it made you just clench around him.  "Okay?" he asked.
"Yep," you answered, in a small voice, and he started moving.
It was strange, really, because you didn't know what it would be like, but you didn't think it's be like this, fucking with him pressed so close up over you, your skin rubbing together with each pass, the blankets pulled up over your lower halves, feeling so warm and cold all at once.  It was raining heavier outside now and the noise alone made you shiver.  You couldn't really hear much, but you could feel him, breathing hard against you.
He fucked into you harder now, his face buried in your neck.  "Fuck, fuck, you gotta cum, babe," he said suddenly, his hand snaking between you to rub your clit.  He tried to kiss you against but your head was already lolling off to the side shuddering around him.  He groaned as you came, clenching him hard, his teeth scraping against your shoulder, "Did you? Did you?" he asked frantically and somehow you squeaked out a yes and he thrust into you hard, swearing as you felt his warmth spread into you.
He practically collapsed onto you, and you were both breathing heavily together.  Once your breathing slowed, he pushed himself up, brushing some hair out of your face and pressing a kiss to your forehead, slowly pulling out of you and rolling off to the side. "You good?" he asked, his eyelids heavy, and you nodded.
He was snoring softly less than 5 minutes later and you had to laugh.  You laid there for 10 more minutes and then got up, grabbing a sheet that had fallen on the floor and wrapping it around yourself as you went to the bathroom to clean up.
You came back out, looking at Tyler stretched out on his stomach across half the bed, debating on whether you were supposed to leave or not, but your question was answered when he opened one eye, weakly lifting up an arm and whining, "Come cuddle me."
You laughed, making your wake back towards the bed, and he lifted the blanket up so you could slide under and then dropped it on top of you, nestling against you with a soft sigh.   "You can be on top in the morning, 'k?"
You'd kind of thought he was joking, but you woke up to a arm laid over you, and definite morning wood pressed against the back of your leg.  He pressed his face into the back of your neck pretty much as soon as you opened your eyes, like he'd just been waiting for you to wake up.  "Hi," he mumbled against you.
"Hi," you tried to turn a bit but he held you steady.  "You alright?"
"Mhmm.." you said, wanting to stretch because you felt like you'd been curled up in the same position all night, but he was still holding you tight, his body pressed up against yours, pulling back to place a couple of kisses on the back of your neck.
"What time do you have to be at work?"
"I have a meeting at 10:30," you said, and you both looked at the clock on the nightstand in front of you, seeing that it was just past 8.
"Mmm...plenty of time," he said, even though you were thinking that, while you could definately shower and eat breakfast here, you'd have to go home for a change of clothes before you could drive to work.  "You just hop on whenever you're ready."
"Oh my god," you laughed.
"What?" he responded.  His hand when to your hip, encouraging you to turn around to face him.  His face was still pressed against the pillow and his eyes look sleepy, hair falling all around him, but he pressed his lips quickly to yours, once and then twice.
He just laid there after that, so you thought he was actually waiting for you, so you started to try and subtly move your hand between your legs under the blanket, because there was no way you were actually ready to take him, but he made a noise of annoyance, pushing your hand away, and slipping his hand down to play with your clit.   It really didn't take much to get you going, honestly, because you were still so sensitive from last night.  Once your face seemed to be flushed with heat, he rolled onto his back.  "Hop on," he said, nodding towards his crotch, and you laughed again, but swung your leg over his.  You weren't even there yet, just straddling his thighs, "Yeah, this is a really great view," he smirked, staring at your tits.
You shook your head, laughing softly, and he abruptly tightened his quad underneath you, sending a jolt through your core, trying to tell you you were taking too long.  His hands went to your hips, moving you up and towards him, and you reached down, guiding him into you and sinking onto him slowly, letting out a long but quiet moan as he filled you.  You swirled your hips a little because you were still getting used to him, and he exhaled loudly, and then tucked his hands behind his head, grinning up at you, "Yeah, this is awesome."
"Tyler," you chided, mostly out of instinct  leaning forward and pressing into his chest, even though you were starting to bounce slightly.  He laughed deep and you could feel it reverberate throughout your body, bringing his hands out from behind his head to grip your forearms, pulling you down, "Come here."
He kissed you, tongue moving against yours.  You didn't stay down there for long though, because you were just starting to get a good rhythm going, and you were also calculating just how long you'd have, because you'd also need to account for a good 10-15 minutes afterwards before you should even get up and shower.
His hands followed you back up this time, gripping your hips and guiding you.  You were getting so lost that you almost didn't hear the scratching at the bedroom door, but you Tyler's eyes widened immediately, even though you were still moving together, his hand coming up in alarm to cover your mouth,  "Shh...."
You immediately became self-conscious, even though it was really hard to be anything because he started fucking his hips up into you at an aggressive pace, his hands pulling you to him, "I thought you said I was too quiet last night."
"No, no, you're perfect," he said, breathlessly, "but if they hear us they're going to know we're in here."
You must have looked confused even though you were closely approaching orgasm.  They were dogs, obviously, it wasn't like they knew what sex sounds were."
"They won't leave," he whispered, "and they're going to be pissed because I didn't let them in here last night."
You were at the point were you kind of didn't care, bracing your hand back on his chest and meeting his movements, although you could hear noises of sniffing coming from under the door.
"Go away," Tyler yelled out, "We're busy!"
You covered your mouth and started giggling.
"Stop laughing," Tyler said tersely even though he was smiling.  His hands gripped your hips even harder, bucking up into you, on a renewed mission.  You felt like you were up against the clock now, adding more and more urgency to your movements, your hand going to press against your clit so you had a little extra stimulation.
"Fuck, that's hot," he said, his hand covering yours and pressing your own into you even harder.  You let your eyes fall shut, leaning forward, using your legs as leverage to bounce up and down in his lap.
"Oh fuck," you moaned, your mouth opening as you came, falling forward over him.  You could both hear and feel him groan, his hot breath in your ear, pulling you harshly over him as he released and you shuddered once more, his hands holding over your back.  You both took a couple of deep breaths, until the scratching at the door interrupted you.
"I'll be there in a minute!" Tyler yelled, and you started giggling again, moving to get up off him, but he held you steady, slapping you playfully on the butt and smirking, "So, same time tonight, then?"

[fanfic] Just A Little Trade
Almost absolute silence reigned. What kept it from being absolute was the quiet tick of machines and sometimes the far off noise of footsteps going by. Very few of the locals wanted to come too near this place anyway, and those who had the right to be here were busy elsewhere at the moment.
In point of fact, there were only two people there at the moment: Edo Phoenix, former Commander in Chief of the Fusion occupation force, and Kurosaki Shun, member of the rebellion and a Lancer.
Kurosaki, so far as Edo knew, wasn’t much of a talker under normal circumstances. Now wasn’t a bit difference, given that he hadn’t woken up being struck on the head even with the best efforts of the healing pod.
He checked it carefully, just to be certain. Everything seemed the way that it should be, and if everything continued the way that it should, Kurosaki would probably wake up in another day or two. Three at the most. He would be very confused when he did, of course. When he’d been struck, Edo had still served Academia and the Professor, and those who’d been shown a different path by Sakaki Yuuya still were his enemies.
I’ll have to explain everything. He wished Saiou would be there to help him. Saiou didn’t do people any better than he did, but he could still find the words that Edo didn’t always have. The two of them worked reasonably well together.
Only Saiou wasn’t strictly a part of Academia. He dueled, of course, but he’d never joined the school, let alone the army. He visited Edo on occasion, or had before Edo achieved this promotion, but how long had it been now? Months?
He would have to find a a way to get in touch with Saiou, he decided, and let him know everything that had happened. Saiou had never overtly disapproved of the Professor or his goals – Edo wouldn’t have been his friend in those days if he had – but the more Edo considered the matter, the more Edo suspected Saiou would approve of his changes.
Edo let out a tired sigh. It would take time to get a message across to the Fusion Dimension safely, especially now. They’d kept quiet for the most part, not wanting anyone from there to find out what was going on. What Edo hadn’t told anyone else was that there was a good chance a faction of Obelisk Force or some of the other members of Academia might well come over here.
XYZ was, after all, considered prime hunting territory even now, with so little left. It had been part of his job to scoop up those he could find who would be suitable prey and keep them ready should anyone from there arrive.
The thought of doing so now sickened his stomach. He’d believed so much in the Professor’s cause that to look back on himself since then sent his heart racing and sweat trickling down.
He glanced at Kurosaki’s sleeping face for a few moments. If he didn’t wake up in the next handful of days, then Edo knew he would have to somehow get some form of help. The tube should manage everything. The tech was almost as advanced as the procedure for carding. But everything and anything could have a flaw in it.
Footsteps outside drew closer. Edo frowned; they didn’t sound like ones that he knew, and there weren’t any voices accompanying them.
That made it a little sketchy already. This was their territory and they had no reason to keep their voices down. Their few nervous XYZ allies might, but they also tended not to make any noise when approaching.
Not to mention he shouldn’t have heard them anyway, because they weren’t there to be heard. Or shouldn’t have been. They’d gone out to search for either new allies or survivors, for supplies, or for anything else that could help those they’d already found.
He suspected Kaito had also sent messages to whatever blocks of the Resistance remained. The official story on both sides was that there weren’t any left. Edo didn’t believe that for a moment. If Kaito still fought, then everyone else there did too, in whatever ways they could. They’d not given up before. Edo didn’t think anything had happened so they would.
But footsteps drew closer and there were no voices and the sense that something was far more wrong than it should be ran icy talons down Edo’s neck. He reached for his duel disk, ready to defend no matter who it was.
“There’s no need for that, Commander.”
The most mocking voice he’d heard in all of his life spoke. It wasn’t his first time hearing it. But just like every other time, he hated it. He didn’t think there was a single person around who actually liked hearing Yuuri talk.
“What are you doing here?” Edo’s gaze flicked up and down, left and right, until he spied the younger soldier standing not that far away.
He was far too close to Kurosaki Shun, all things considered, and Edo started to reach for his deck again.
Yuuri raised one hand. “As I said, no need for that. Though if you really want to be stubborn, then it would just make what I want that much easier.” A smile slid across his features, sly and sweet and sarcastic. “You don’t really think a traitor could stand up to me, do you?”
Edo’s lips pressed together. He’d not for a moment suspected that seeing Yuuri here was in any way good. “What are you doing here?” Edo repeated, wanting answers.
If he could stretch it out a little, keep Yuuri here until some of the others arrived, then maybe…
He may or may not stand a chance in a duel but Edo suspected the principles of entertainment dueling could stretch far enough to deal with Yuuri, whose idea of entertainment involved pain, shrieks, and terror for everyone who wasn’t him.
“Oh, didn’t I tell you? Everyone already knows about your little mass defection.” Yuuri smiled that dangerous smile of his. “The Professor really doesn’t care though.”
That sent another warning chill through Edo. He refused to twitch an inch in reaction. Yuuri had to want more than that.
“That doesn’t tell me what I asked.”
Yuuri nodded solemnly. His main focus hadn’t left Kurosaki for a second. “I suppose it doesn’t.” He took a step closer. “Let me tell you this much. No one cares. I could card all of you or I could let you go. The Professor has so much else that he’d rather do than worry himself about all of you.”
“So why are you here, then? Surely you’ve got better things you could do.” Edo didn’t trust that smile, didn’t trust the way Yuuri kept too much of his attention on Kurosaki, a possessive tilt to his lips.
“Because you have something that I want, and I’m going to take it.” Yuuri chuckled softly, reaching out to rest his hand on the healing pod. “And you’re not going to complain about it.”
Edo took two quick steps, a low growl sliding between his teeth. “You’re wrong about that!” He’d made a promise and he wasn’t going to let it be broken.
“I don’t think I am.” Something flickered and Edo’s attention followed a sudden line of something falling.
It was a card, he realized, the thought trailing along a heartbeat later. The card fell face-up and his heart froze in the moment it took him to realize just whose face that was.
When the Professor first began to build his army at Academia, he’d started at various orphanages, choosing the children there and bringing them together. They’d had few ties to anyone, and most of those who they did ended up at the Academia as well.
But when Edo joined, he’d not only left his closest friend behind, but his father as well. He’d never known his mother; his father told him that she’d passed away shortly after his birth. It hadn’t been Edo’s fault, Mr. Phoenix assured him over and over, but simply an accident, and he’d come to accept that.
And now he saw his father’s face staring up at him from the card.
It shouldn’t be. This shouldn’t be. He’d talked to his father only a few days before. Everything had been fine then.
Only now there was that gentle face, that had seemed ever so faintly disappointed in him over the last few months as he’d risen higher in the army and made his debut as Commander-in-Chief.
“Father...” He murmured for a heartbeat before his eyes jerked back to Yuuri. “What did you do? You said...”
Yuuri waved one hand casually. “I said that it didn’t matter to the Professor. And it doesn’t. So he doesn’t care if I do this. I’ve already finished my duties for him anyway.” That demonic smile flickered back into being. “So now I get to have some fun for myself.”
Edo’s stomach sloshed and tightened in terror. He worked as hard as he could to keep himself focused. He could guess what Yuuri meant. He just didn’t want to.
Another card fluttered down. Edo’s heart twisted even farther to see a spill of night-black hair and a pair of calm, wise eyes looking back up at him. His breath froze in his throat.
Part of him cursed Sakaki Yuuya for showing him how much different everything could be, should have been. If he hadn’t listened, if he hadn’t chosen this different path, then he wouldn’t be here now, seeing the faces of those he loved the most staring back at him like this.
They wouldn’t be vulnerable to someone like Yuuri.
“You’re not going to argue with what I want, are you?” Yuuri questioned. “What does it mean to you, anyway?” That mocking smile wasn’t going anywhere. Edo hadn’t ever realized how much he could genuinely hate such a smile. It mocked everything he’d believed in his life, Academia or otherwise. “I’ll take him and you can continue to put this broken toy of a world back together, until the Professor finishes his plan, and you’re all disposed of, one way or another. Do you understand?”
Edo’s nails dug so hard into his palms he could feel trickles of blood working their way through. “I’m not going to let you have him.” He bit the words off cold and hard. He couldn’t do this. Trading lives was something that those of Academia did. Something they thought was easy and fun. He refused to be a part of that anymore.
More of that horrid anticipation worked its way through him. If Yuuri had his father and Mizuchi already sealed like this, then what else did he have?
Who else did he have?
Edo didn’t have to ask the question out loud, not when Yuuri would be more than happy to answer it regardless. He raised one hand and a third card gleamed there.
“I thought that’s what you say,” he murmured, and flipped the card around.
Saiou Takuma, brilliant waterfall of evening-blue hair and eyes of a violet so rich that Edo thought amethysts would envy him stared from this last card, the last person that Edo truly cared about in all the worlds.
And Yuuri did not let go of it.
He said nothing else. What he did was take hold of Saiou’s card by the top and bend it. Not tear, only bend, but it was warning enough. Edo reached out, paler than he’d ever been before.
Edo couldn’t let that happen. It didn’t matter if anyone would ever forgive him for letting Yuuri have what he wanted. He’d never forgive himself if he let Saiou be destroyed like that.
He swallowed, reaching, a few empty steps in between them, but Yuuri easily kept his distance.
“What was that you said?” Yuuri taunted, fingers still in position to tear. “I think you said something about giving me what I want?”
Edo pressed his teeth against his lower lip. He wanted the others to come back. If they did, then Yuuri might be distracted enough for him to take Saiou’s card back. If he had the card, then all the power would be on his side.
But there weren’t any other sounds. Just the two of them, and Yuuri’s burgeoning smile of triumph.
“Why do you want him?” Edo asked, grasping for any extra time he could. Yuuri sniffed.
“Everyone needs toys of some kind,” he said. “This is the toy that I want.”
“He’s hurt,” Edo pointed out. “That’s why he’s in there. He’s getting better, but he’s in no shape for you to play with.”
Yuuri laughed, a sound that called back too many echoes to Edo’s mind, of hearing Sakaki Yuuya laugh. They did more than look alike, Edo realized. They sounded alike too, voices that could have been that of brothers.
“I did notice where he is. But I take very good care of my toys. I hate it when they break too soon.” Yuuri’s fingers tightened on the card just a tiny bit more and Edo thought he saw a tear appearing.
There wasn’t any more time to delay, to bargain, or do anything. He steeled himself, ready to hate himself from this moment on.
“How do you intend to get him out of here? He’ll wake up if I open the tube.”
“Not for a while yet. I can keep him under control until we’re home. He’s certainly in no condition to fight me.” Yuuri pointed out. He gestured with a jerk of his head. “Open it. Now.”
Edo reminded himself that he did this because he wasn’t going to let someone he cared about be torn apart in Yuuri’s hands. That was something he hadn’t mentioned to Yuuya and the others: any card torn apart, shredded in any fashion, meant that the person in that card died.
He’d seen it happen before. He couldn’t let it happen again.
Kurosaki can be rescued, he told himself as he began the sequence to open the tube. If he tears Saiou’s card, he’s gone forever. And Yuuri would still find a way to take what he wanted.
As much as he justified it to himself, it still hurt to do this. Perhaps it hurt even more to justify it.
Yuuri kept hold of Saiou’s card even as the tube opened, mist pouring out, and he stepped closer to Kurosaki, possessiveness in every line of himself. Somehow he kept it even when he had Kurosaki lifted over one shoulder.
Then he casually tossed it toward Edo. “They screamed your name, you know. When I carded them. It was the last thing on their lips.”
Edo dived for the cards, scooping all three into his hands, heart racing. He wanted to hear no more. He wanted Yuuri gone, once and for all.
He wanted a chance to warn people about what had happened. As important as stopping the Professor’s plans were, Edo could not bring himself to just let someone be Yuuri’s prisoner as well. If he had to, he would take care of it himself.
Yuuri turned toward him, eyes bright with anticipation, one hand resting on Kurosaki’s back. “You’d better be a very good boy. I’d really rather not have to take those cards back from you.” He moved the fingers of one hand in a motion that was somewhat a wave and yet reeked of far more mockery than anything that Edo could remember seeing.
Another card appeared between his fingers; Edo had just time enough to read it: Violet Flash. Energy every bit as bright as the sun flashed, and when Edo could see again, he was the only one in the room. The pod remained, open and empty, and in his hands there rested those three cards.
Edo wanted to get back to Fusion, to collect a team and mount a rescue mission. Yuuri’s last words echoed in his mind as soon as he thought of that. The cards might be safe in his hands now, but if there was one person in all four dimensions who could change that, who could extract revenge at a moment’s notice, no matter the defenses put up against him, Yuuri was that person.
What he wanted to do and what he could do and what he should do tangled up in his head and his heart, his fingers pressed against the cards, and the sun rose, and he had explanations to make that he’d never thought he would.
The End

Black women deserve better, just keeping it 100%. Also, this chapter is packed with feelings so beware, beware, beware.
I wish I could believe you, then I'll be all right But now everything you told me really don't apply To the way I feel inside
"--By. Baby, did you hear me!?”
The sound of an annoyed male voice jolted you out of the trance you’d fallen into. “What?” Glancing to the left, you smile halfheartedly up at your boyfriend. “Hey, baby.” You belatedly took note of his attire. “Going out?”
He muttered something indistinct underneath his breath that vaguely sounded like, ‘that’s what I just said, damn, pay attention,’ and more unflattering things that you chose to be deaf to. “It’s just my usual five mile run. I’ve got my iPod with me, so I probably won’t be checking my messages.”
“Are you really just going for a run, Andrew?” Although you’d warned yourself over and over to keep the accusing tone out of your voice, it still snuck in there without permission.
He pointed a finger in your face. “Don’t start. Remember what the therapist said.” Andrew felt the need to point out. “Stop looking for reasons to be suspicious.”
Loving you was easy once upon a time But now my suspicions of you have multiplied And it's all because you lied
“Maybe if you’d have kept your dick in your pants, I wouldn’t need to be suspicious.” You muttered.
He had heard you but pretended like he didn’t.
“What was that?” Andrew raised an eyebrow.
“I said if you goin’ out, I’m leaving too.” You state in a normal tone of voice. “Can you take Buddy?”
“Nah, that dog too hyperactive and he don’t like me.”
I only give you a hard time 'Cause I can't go on and pretend like I haven't tried to forget this But I'm much too full of resentment
“Remember what the therapist said?” You couldn’t resist throwing his words back at him. “Compromise with your partner. Tailor your needs and wants to suit their schedule sometimes too. So take the damn dog! I need, want, and deserve, some quality time by my damn self!!”
“Alright!” He shouted. “...Alright, I’ll take the dog.” Andrew raised his hands near his head, not touching the sides of his face. Then he lowered them, reaching out to take your hands. You let him, grip limp in his. “We gon get through this, baby. It’s just a rough patch.”
Just can't seem to get over the way you hurt me Don't know how you gave another who didn't mean a thing, no The very thing you gave to me I thought I could forgive you, and I know you've changed As much as I wanna trust you, I know it ain't the same
Lips pursing, slipping into a frown, “Just go.” You request.
“Baby...”
Irritation flooded your body before exploding outward. “I didn’t stutter! Leave me the fuck alone, muthafucka!”
Andrew dropped your hand and backed away, eyeing you warily. Walking backwards, he didn’t take his eyes off of you until he bumped into the bedroom door, feeling around for the handle, and then twisted it, slipping out the cracked opening.
Feeling tears stinging at the back of your eyes, wanting to be shed, you blink rapidly. Refusing to cry today. You’d cried enough tears to fill a river, lake, and ocean after discovering that your potential husband to be, your high school sweetheart and lover for just under half a decade had been actively cheating on you. With his secretary.
It was such a cliche.
You hadn’t wanted to believe it when you found out four months ago. Or actually, you’d been told, by the homewrecker herself. Claiming Andrew was the father of her unborn child. Of course, you wanted proof, needed it, because so much time and energy had been put into the relationship, you weren’t just letting some random thirsty ho ruin it. And she had proof: text messages, receipts for the gifts he’d bought, pictures, the whole nine yards.
When you’d confronted Andrew, he denied at first. He kept denying it for a solid hour. Then he guiltily admitted the truth, fake crying and trying to play the victim. Flip it on you, saying that you were cold and inattentive.
You didn’t love or fuck him enough.
For that reason alone, you popped his ass in the face. The neighbors called the police. Ms. Wayne likely thought you were about to kill his bitch ass self in this house. And with how livid you were, it could have happened.
Truthfully, you were done with him when you found out a whole four months ago, but your mom talked you into couple’s counselling (she always favored him more, you knew it in your heart) and against your better judgement, you’d went. Listened to this Zen bullshit, control your temper, ease up, don’t give up.
Blah blah blah.
That shit was for the birds!
Once a cheater, always a cheater. You was only waiting for the minute you caught him slipping, then you would be gone without a second thought.
Hell, maybe before that.
‘Lord, bless me with a wholesome, genuine man. With his own car, his own job and about his business. I don’t care how he look, Lord, just send him my way.’ Prayer is not for silly reasons like this, your mother would scold you, but in your eyes, this is an emergency.
Crystal Cove Gardens 10:28 AM
Dressed in a cute but simple outfit, you watched the families enjoy the warm weather. How the dogs chased after thrown sticks or toys, and regretted not bringing Buddy out here. He’d been such a good doggy in the past few months, growling at Andrew’s trifling ass, cheering you up with his antics, and letting you run your fingers through his fur while struggling with the on and off bouts of tears and fury.
‘I hope he bites him on the butt. He would deserve it.’
There were gasps and you looked for the source of distress. Only to feel something wet plop against your forehead.
‘Oh, no.’
More raindrops fell from the sky. The sunny expanse becoming gray quickly and the light rain changed to a downpour. Everybody started running for cover, you did too, futilely trying to shield your hair but gave up on that five minutes in. Slipping and sliding on the cobblestone while running for your car, you fell a few feet away from the place you’d parked.
“Oww! Shit...” Embarrassment filled your body, though no one was around to see you take that L. Sitting up, you pressed your fingers to the back of your head, pulling them away and grateful not to see blood.
‘That’s karma for you.’
Knees stinging, back aching, you tried to get up again. This time you managed to raise up onto your knees. Only to startle when you didn’t feel your brown skin being pelted with rain anymore. Glancing up, you saw an umbrella overhead, shielding you.
“Are you alright, miss?” An accented male voice met your ears. The owner of that voice reached an umber skinned hand down and you took it. He helped you to your feet easily, no complaints forthcoming or irritated huffs, but that little action caused your heart to skip a beat.
“I’m good. Thank you.” You didn’t want to be rude but you were embarrassed as all hell. Someone had witnessed you make a fool of yourself, shit. ‘And he’s handsome! Lord, thank you, but why you have to send him right now?!’
“Really, thank...” You take a step back and he lets you go.
Only you nearly bit it. Again.
And this time, he shifted his umbrella to his left hand, reaching out with his free hand. Catching you around the waist and bringing you close. You were left blinking up at him like an idiot and the faint thought of ‘so this is how those white girls in Harlequin novels get caught up.’
“May I escort you the rest of the way to your vehicle? This is twice you’ve nearly seriously hurt yourself in my presence and I am worried.” Faint amusement coats his tone but you’re not offended, somehow realizing that he’s not making fun of you like anyone else would in this predicament.
‘He has kind eyes...’ Wordless, you nodded.
Smoothly, he offered an arm in your direction after you straightened up (again) and this time, you take it. Trying not to inhale too deeply even though he smelled good. Trying not to grope him even though you could feel how muscled he is through his shirt. You try to listen to the angel on your shoulder as he raised the umbrella overhead, offering protection for you and himself as he carefully walked with you towards your car.
Two wrongs don’t make it right, a voice at the back of your head that sounded distantly like your disapproving mother, as you opened the car door and got inside.
“Drive safely.”
Aww, how sweet! “I will.” You promise. “Thank you again, stranger.” After the words left your mouth, you could have smacked yourself. It wasn’t a smooth delivery at all, more awkward and fumbling. Such a dumbass, you’re such a dumbass.
His lips twitched into a faint smile, unfazed by the bumbling delivery. “My name is T’Challa. Not ‘stranger’.”
“Y/N.” Habit has you offering your hand for a shake, but he lifted the back of your hand to his mouth, kissing the knuckles. Sending your heart into overdrive and as his dark eyes flicked to yours for a brief, heated moment, there’s no way he missed that.
“Drive safely, Y/N.”
The way that he caressed the syllables of your name has you thinking about climbing out of this car and doing something very very crazy. You entertain the notion for approximately ten seconds, but T’Challa maybe senses the turmoil occurring in your heart and head, because he makes the choice for the both of you. Gently closing the car door, then waved and walked in the opposite direction.
You sit in that car for close to half an hour before driving home.
Home to a man you don’t love nor want. Home to a man who doesn’t love or even like, let alone respect you. Regret coats the back of your throat as Andrew kisses your cheek, asking if you wanted to eat some leftover pizza and watch movies.

Until the Flavor’s Gone (1/?)
A/N – Hello! I am new to this fandom and pairing. I honestly didn’t have any intentions of writing anything, if I’m going to be completely honest but! I got these ideas in my head and thought I may as well try to share them with the world. And then I erased all of them, started over, and came up with this. I hope you guys don’t mind an alternate meeting Biadore AU that plays fast and loose with continuity, characterizations, and queen relationships. Sorry this isn’t particularly inspired. Title based off of Chewing Gum by Nina Nesbit, if you’re interested in what I’ve been listening to on repeat lately.
“New York, here we are!”
Danny sighed out an exasperated ‘finally’ as he hit the double bed with a soft thud and buried his face in the 3 star quality hotel pillow. It had been a longer day than had anticipated and he was utterly beat. But, one missed connecting flight and three hours worth playing red tape leap frog with the airline and yes, they were in fact in New York City. Finally.
Jay buzzed around the hotel like a five year old hopped up on gummy bears and Red Bull, dramatically throwing open the curtains with an excited grin. “Hey! The view actually isn’t that bad. Come look!”
“No.”
“Suit yourself… hey!” He trotted to Danny’s bedside and grabbed him by his foot. “Don’t tell me you’re going to sleep! We just got here!”
“It’s late and I’m exhausted.”
“It’s not even midnight and I’m BORED! I feel like we’ve been sitting still forever. Why didn’t you sleep on the plane?”
Danny didn’t get the chance to answer before he was forcibly dragged from his bed. With a groan and a loud protest he stopped himself just before he hit the ground. “Fine! Jesus. God, we need to get you some weed before you fucking spin out of orbit. Fuck.”
“What day is it?”
“Uh… Thursday but only for like… twenty more minutes.”
“Perfect! I know what we can do! Get dressed!”
“How the fuck do you know what to do on a late Thursday night in a city you’ve never been to?”
“I’ve got connections. Now shut up and get dressed! We can’t waste time!”
–-
Jay’s sudden time inspired epiphany led them to a club. Because of course it did. Small bar with high tables lining a crowded dance floor that surrounded a very small stage. It looked incredibly unremarkable.
“Okay. So we’re here,” Danny quipped. “Why are we here?”
“I told Justin – you know, Alyssa –” Jay ignored Danny’s indignant ‘Christ, of course I fucking know’ with a flick of his wrist, “That if we could, that we’d catch this queen she know’s show. It’s almost 12:30 in the morning on a Friday. So we’re here.”
“So you’ve brought me to a drag show with your sing-song cryptic bullshit. Got it.”
“You wouldn’t agree otherwise!”
Danny just scoffed and rolled his eyes before grabbing the drink he ordered. Honestly, he wouldn’t have minded. He actually didn’t mind. The thing was, he could think of at least four other things he’d rather be doing than hanging around in another club with Jay like they always did, waiting around for another drag queen to lip sync and dance to another rendition of ‘Like a Prayer’. But he was here, and he had a drink now, so he might as well just make the best of it. If this queen was recommended by Alyssa, it should at least be tolerable. Entertaining, even.
They worked their way through the crowd, near the front, and Danny finally got a good look around. It was packed. Not packed as in a lot of people just idling about – but actually packed, near shoulder to shoulder. It took all of his crafty ‘beeline through the crowd’ tricks he’d learned while navigating high school to make it to the edge of the stage with Jay close behind him.
They waited out the low rumble of the people around them, sipping on their drinks before someone tapped Danny on his shoulder.
“You look new here. You been here before?” He barely had a chance to answer before the stranger just laughed, “Deer in headlights look says ‘no’. Brave kid trying to stand in the front row. Good luck!”
Danny didn’t get a chance to ask him what he meant before the crowd erupted in drunken applause and cheers and jeers as a – and Danny didn’t use this term lightly – presence burst onto the stage.
“Good evening, New York! How the fuck are you?”
He squinted a bit at this petite queen with a lot of lashes and a red carpet ready dress stride across the stage with a wide grin and enough confidence to make that rickety glorified platform look like a gilded stage suited for the grandest theater.
For a moment, he was stunned.
“Are you all ready for me to be a nasty, hateful cunt tonight?”
The crowd responded with another cheer and Danny shot a look at Jay behind him. This definitely wasn’t going to be another Madonna lip synch, that was for certain. Danny wasn’t sure he was sharp enough for the already barbed wit spouting from those painted lips right now.
“This was a really bad idea.”
Danny didn’t check the volume of his voice as well as he’d thought, because the next thing he knew those dagger sharp eyes had skewered him in place and he froze. Fuck. Two steps and she’d already crossed the short distance of the stage, leaning down slightly with her head cocked to the side. Danny felt panic. He blamed it on the lack of sleep. That had to be it. Danny Noriega did not panic at being singled out by foul mouthed insult comics wearing dresses. It just didn’t happen. Not that he had a lot of experience with that kind of thing up until this very minute, but he’s pretty sure that in the same kind of hypothetical situation, he’d have a better reaction.
“You realize this isn’t television and I can hear you, right?” Danny swallowed the lump that suddenly swelled into his throat before taking a quick swig of his drink and offering no answer. “You know… you do look pretty miserable. Why don’t you join me up here?” The brash loud voice had softened to something higher pitched and honey sweet that was in no way meant to be trusted. Regardless, Danny passed his drink off to Jay wordlessly and followed the queen’s directions to the stairs. “Careful, these stairs are shit. We need to find a dyke to rebuild the fucking thing.” Danny tripped despite the warning, “See?” There was another grin and a low chuckle as a hand settled on Danny’s shoulder. “God, you look like shit. What’s your name?”
“Danny?”
“Is that a question?” Another blinding grin and Danny could swear he could see the sparks in her eyes, “If you can’t answer your own name, then we’re already off to a bad start. Let me rephrase and ask a bit slower… is your name Danny?” He nodded. “Great! Now we’re back on track. And where are you from, Danny?”
“California… I actually just–”
His explanation was cut short as the queen eyed his clothes, “Did you fucking crawl here?” There was a vague hand gesture to the torn jeans, “It’s definitely a look… did you buy those like that or were they worn down eventually?” A short beat of a pause and then, “You know what? I don’t actually want to know. Let’s move on. And what do you do in California, Danny? Aside from suck dick.”
Danny didn’t even have a chance to fully register the jab before huffing out a quick laugh. He felt like he should be quicker. He could take this queen. He thought. Maybe? It took too much effort to try. Instead, he just lamely answered, “Music. I’m a singer.”
“In other words you’re broke and living with your parents. What brings you to New York?” Danny shrugged, shaking his head as he tried to search for words. He wasn’t quick enough (again). “Fascinating. Okay. You were brave enough to get up here and make me look prettier by comparison. How about a shot?”
Someone shouted ‘Going soft, Bianca?’ from the crowd causing the queen to twist her lips into a scowl before smirking. Danny swore he saw a spark fly from her tongue as she shot back just as fast, “Now I am from seeing you.”
That got a genuine laugh from Danny and he wiped his eyes, which were overly inclined to water from his sleep deprivation. Bianca, a name to go with this face, shot him a proud look before squeezing his shoulder. “What do you say about that shot?”
“Sure?” Danny shrugged, his hands fidgeting as Bianca eyed him with another calculating smirk.
“Good enough,” She called over one of the staff and made the order before looking back to him with a hand on her hip. “Now tell me, Danny. This your first time in New York?”
“Yeah, actually…”
“And what have you done so far? See any sights?”
“Um. Nothing, actually. This was our first stop.”
Bianca’s eyebrows shot higher towards her hairline before she cocked her head to the side. “So you’re telling me that you flew in from California and your first stop is here… that’s a new one.”
“We know a queen who recommended your show… Alyssa Edwards?”
“OH! Oh that… oh wow. Okay,” she was cackling now, shaking her head. “You’re here because you know Alyssa…” she clenched her teeth and summoned security from the side of her mouth before waving the comment off, “Kidding. I’m just kidding. That’s hilarious. And thank you God, here’s our shots!” Bianca reached out and took the first shot, handing it off to Danny before taking up her own. “Danny, I’d like to officially welcome you to New York. I have to say you got off easy, which I’d venture is a common problem but this time it worked out in your favor. Now,” she lifted her glass, “Count of three?” She waited for Danny to lift his own, signalling he was ready, “Perfect. 1… 2… 3.”
The alcohol burned going down and Danny couldn’t help but make a bit of a face. He passed his glass off to Bianca who in turn passed them off to the loitering staff worker. “Let’s hear it for Danny!” He was then gently ushered back to the steps and just as he started to step off the stage, Bianca leaned in away from her mic and whispered.
“Talk to me after the show if you can make it to the end.”
It didn’t sound at all suggestive or flirtatious – just sincere – and that got Danny curious, which made the rest of his exhaustion melt away.
–————————
They managed to stay for the rest of Bianca’s set. It made Jay grimace a bit at times, but Danny found it to be hysterical once he got over his foul mood. As two in the morning started to roll in, Bianca bid the thinning crowd adieu before the lights went back up. Just before leaving the stage, she caught Danny and Jay’s attention, signalling to them where to meet her backstage. Danny couldn’t help but notice a few stragglers trying to get a bit more than just her attention.
“Please. I only give to charity once a year and this year isn’t your year. Back up. Don’t touch me. Thank you.” With a huff and a warning glare, Bianca breezed past the two tourists and waved to them, “Follow, you two assholes. Not you,” she pointed to another pair with a scowl before hurrying to the back where there was a small dressing room. She was stopped by a younger de-dragged queen just leaving.
“Another great show, Miss Bianca! Thank you, by the way for that list of movies… I’m almost done with it!”
“Anything to educate the masses. Have a good night,” She sat down at her make-up station and kicked off her shoes before swivelling back to face her two guests. “Okay. So which one of you is another one of Alyssa’s children? She pops you all out so fast that I can’t keep track.”
Jay raised his hand a little timidly. Danny shot him a surprised look a mouthed, ‘this isn’t school’ before reaching over and gently guiding Jay’s hand back down to his side. Jay cleared his throat before answering, “I work for her dance studio… she’s kind of become my mentor and I’ve been wanting to get into drag…”
“So you don’t have anything prepared yet.”
“No ma’am…”
“Ma’am?” Bianca laughed and shook her head as she placed his fingers to her chin, “Please. I’m a man in a fucking wig, not a ma’am. It’s not that serious,” Another sigh, “And that’s fine, wish you luck all the same. Now you,” she pointed to Danny and tilted her chin a few degrees higher. “How long are you in town?”
“Um… until next Saturday… why?”
“Because there’s an open mic night on Monday and I can get you on the list if you’ve got something you can sing.”
Danny blinked a few times to process the offer before he shrugged, “Um… sure!” There was a long pause as Bianca only nodded and started to busy herself with clearing up her station. “But why would you do that?”
“Because Alyssa didn’t just send you here for my benefit and I figure I may as well take the hint and humor the loony bitch,” she paused in what she was doing to write down the details on one of the random business cards that were scattered throughout. “Here. Make sure you’re here by that time and I’ve got the rest. Exit’s the way you came. If those guys are still out there, tell them I left. Or died.”
“Do you always pull in hotties like that?” Jay asked curiously with a bite to his lip as he looked towards the door.
“Never. But it’s late in the week and they’re getting desperate. Enjoy New York.”

You need Protecting
Request: Can I request a tony stark x daughter where she's a lesbian but and she gets bullied and harassed at school because of it? She arrives at the tower in tears and begs tony to take her out of that school. Wanda over hears and decides to show up at the school with the reader to intimidate the bullies. They end up dating and since then no one would mess with scarlet witch's girl
Warnings: bullying, swearing, people are awful humans
Tumblr media
It was no secret that Tony Stark's daughter was a lesbian. It wasn't something you were ashamed of and neither was your father but the media had a fucking party when it came to trying to make you feel bad. 'How does it feel to be one of the most popular women in the world? Does being a lesbian affect that at all? Do you ever feel like a disgrace? Does Tony ever feel bad because you can't have kids?' You always ignored them though, merely smiling and brushing the insults away. You could handle the media just fine, after all, you had Tony Stark, the most expensive man in the world, on your side. He could make news companies crumble to the ground, he could wipe any reporter off the face of the earth but the one thing Tony couldn't handle was your school.
You went to a small public school just out of New Jersey, somewhere a little more reserved. He didn't ever get involved in your school life, or public life really, he was too busy to do such things, so you had to deal with school all alone. At first it had been fine, no one had even looked your way out of sheer fear but as soon as they realized your father wasn't there to protect you they had a great time terrorizing you. It'd been mild at first but now, nearing the end of the year, it was getting horrible.
"What a little bitch," Some girl chuckles as she kicks your side, sending sharpshooting pain up your entire body.
"Disgusting whore," Another one says and more pain spreads through your body, your entire body going rigid as she kicks you in the back. Previously they'd been beating on your face but when they managed to get you to the ground they had began kicking you, stepping on you, abusing you in anyway possible. Your eye had swollen shut, your mouth tasted of iron, and your nose was so sore you could barely breathe. You couldn't take much more of this, you may end up dying if you endured anymore pain.
Suddenly a loud blaring noise overcame the speakers, causing the girls to quiet immediately.
"Saved by the bell," One sneers as she grabs your bag, dumping its contents on the floor before trowing the bag away. "Next time you won't be so lucky Stark," And with that the group of girls headed out, leaving you to shudder and cry on the bathroom floor.
God knows how long you laid there, sobbing and crying out in pain, much too long you theorized, someone would be sent to find you soon enough and you didn't want to be around for that so instead of sulking you rose to your feet, albeit with some difficulty, and began to collect your things. Your body screamed with every movement but you pushed through, not stopping until you had placed up all your things and retrieved your backpack from the thankfully empty trashcan.
You cradled some of your fingers in one hand, the bones twisted in odd angels. You'd most likely have Bruce look at it when you got back to the tower, back home.
You groan as you make your way to the parking lot, wincing as you limped towards your car. With some further difficulty you got in, pushed the keys in, and started the car up. Tears still burned at your eyes but you paid them no mind, not when you were already on the road back home, back to your bed, back to the stale, regulated air of the tower, back to Tony's constant supply of Chinese food, back to your family.
You stumble onto the main floor where Tony was hosting some gala, every patron with their glasses raised in the air as you waked in. The tears were flowing down your cheeks as Tony looked at you, his smile immediately falling.
"(Y/N)?" Tony questions as he sets his drink down, instead coming over to your side, to gently cup your cheeks and look at your wounds. "(Y/N), what happened?"
"Please take me out of that school," You cry, wiping at your bloody, runny nose. "Please dad, I can't handle it anymore,"
"Okay, okay, I'll take you out of that school just tell me what happened babygirl,"
"There were some girls," You sob causing your ribs to ache in further pain. "They beat me until I nearly passed out and then I drove here and-and-"
"Oh (Y/N)," Tony reaches out to hug you, his arms wrapping around you gently. "I'm so sorry buttercup. I'll call the school tomorrow to tell them you're quitting. You can come to school with Peter," "I only have four weeks left, why don't you just get me my stupid useless diploma?" Tony bites his lip, feeling completely and utterly horrible.
"Wanda," Tony hissed, ushering the mutant over.  Wanda complies, setting her drink down to come to Tony's side. She takes one look at you before she's growling, her eyes glowing red.
"Who the hell did this to you (Y/N)? Who do I have to murder-"
"Wanda," Tony warns softly, his voice soft and quiet.
"Wanda," You cry softly, walking into Wanda's  chest, essentially forcing her to hug you.
"Shh, its okay (Y/N)," Wanda soothes, her hand running over your hair softly. "You're okay now,"
"It hurts so much Wanda," You sob, burying your face into her neck. "It hurts so much,"
"Come on, I'll help you patch up," Wanda directed you away from all the patrons, down a couple of floors, and to her bedroom. It was cozy, quaint, you'd know because you'd been here a million times.
While you were openly lesbian it was not openly known that you were in relationship, much less with one of your fathers teammates.
"They broke your fingers," Wanda whispers as she wraps the broken fingers together, the bones crunching as they moved back into place.
  "And my nose,"
"And a couple of ribs," Wanda adds in, her fingers ghosting along the swollen skin. You wince a bit but you don't pull away, not from Wanda's touch. "I swear to god I'm going to tear those assholes to shreds," She growls as she pulls a wet rag out of her bathroom, the cloth warm as she raised it to your nose and lips. She gently scrubbed away, being mindful of your split lip and severely swollen nose.
"I'll take you to school with me tomorrow, you can tear them to shreds then," You smile softly, only entertaining the thought for Wanda's sake.  Wanda smiles as she presses the cloth to your eye, the warmth soothing it slightly.
"Good ." Little did you know she actually meant business.
"Hey, stop looking at her," Wanda growls at some girl as she walks by your lunch table where you were diligently working on you're reason for needing your diploma early.  "Keep looking and I'll rip your arms off," Wanda flicks her wrist, conjuring up a bit of energy. The students who'd been previously staring at your shambled state quickly scurry, all of them whispering about the Scarlett witch.
"You're violent," You chuckle as you finish the report with a soft sigh of content.
"And you need protecting," Wanda looks at you, her hard look immediately melting away.
"You're the best Wanda," You go to kiss her cheek but you stop, realizing no one could know about the relationship but before you could do anything Wanda pulled your face towards her and kissed you gently, being mindful of your lip and bandaged nose.
"I'm just being a good girlfriend," You hum as you rest your head on her shoulders, sighing contently.
"Yeah," you whisper, smiling softly. "Yeah you are,"
