Hihi!! I haven't posted a lot since January because I've mostly been doing arpg art but here's art I've done recently of my DnD character Kishiko! I get to start playing it soon so I am SO SO excited!! I am also working on making a sticker shop with one of my boyfriends because it would be a lot of fun to design physical items! It's also something I've wanted to do for a couple years, I wasn't in much of a place to do so.
All this to say that I am gonna try my best to post my art more frequently because I keep forgetting because my brain is all over the damn place KJGHKDJF

I wanted to animate more this year and practice some unpracticed skills, like head turns, and just rotations in general.
So I figured some Mythspace panels would be good to use, especially with the upcoming colored release.
Maybe I can clean this up enough to color and use.

Reynard’s Tale: A Story Of Love & Mischief HC - Ben Hatke
Beloved children's author Ben Hatke turns his pen to a very special project for adults: an atmospheric tribute to the medieval folklore tradition of trickster tales, starring Reynard the Fox. Inspired by the twelfth-century tales of the indomitable trickster fox Reynard, this offbeat tribute to the archetypal rogue has a satisfyingly old-fashioned feeling to it. Although this Reynard adventure is entirely the creation of modern fairy-tale master Ben Hatke (Mighty Jack), it fits seamlessly into the body of Reynard tales still beloved in Europe to this day. Featuring charming black-and-white illustrations and a clever narrative, Reynard's Tale follows our hero through a series of encounters with other classic figures from this body of folklore to piece together a headlong journey through a perilous landscape filled with murderers, kings, ex-lovers, mermaids, and even Death herself.

Renako wants to prove to Mai that being BFFs is better than being girlfriends, but Mai is dead set on convincing Renako that they're destined to be lovers. Let the love games begin!
Vanish Vol 1 TP - Donny Cates & Ryan Stegman
Oliver Harrison was a mythical hero who slayed the greatest threat to his realm before even hitting puberty. But that was then.

Join us for a brutal as hell tale of magical worlds, gifted youth, evil sorcerers, superheroes, war, blood, guts, and death that punches you right in the face!
WORLDTREE #1 - James Tynion IV, Fernando Blanco, Jordie Bellaire & David Aja
In 1999, Gabriel and his friends discovered the Undernet, a secret architecture to the Internet. They charted their exploration on a message board called W0RLDTR33.
Then they lost control. Someone broke into W0RLDTR33-someone who welcomed the violent hold the Undernet had on them. At great personal cost, Gabriel and the others thought they sealed the Undernet away for good.
They were wrong. And now they will know the meaning of PH34R.
Whatcha scooping up this week, Fantom Fam?

Moontouched
“And as she wept upon Her face, her tears fell to the dust in which she knelt. Her grief and loneliness was soon met by gentle hands, her third miracle of creation, come to her unbidden in her time of need. The hands holding and consoling her were gentle and kind, soothing the stinging reminders emblazoned upon her face, and assuring that she need not weep for what has been, but should smile for what might be.
She remained with them until the final throes of war were calmed. They shared her sorrow at the horrors below them but never faulted her, nor she them. Their place was at her side, never her feet. When her tears fell no longer, they brought her to a doorway, where she made her eternal home, promising them the afterlife she could now provide. This offer was met with laughter and gifts in kind. Their lives and afterlives were to be their own, not needing her favour to justify their kindness and mirth."
—Unknown Author, ’The Lunar Queen’
The moontouched are a mysterious race dwelling on the moons surrounding most planets. With large heads and noses, expansive ears, and small eyes and frames, the moontouched hold some superficial resemblance to bats. They rarely venture down to the planets below them, and it is unknown if they have the means of doing so without outside influence, but they are incredibly friendly and welcoming to any outsiders they do come across.
Moonfolk’s Mirth and Mischief
With no worries for resources nor kingdoms to rule, the moontouched spend their lives seeking joy and entertainment above all else. They spend their free time pursuing their chosen path or paths of entertainment. Dancers, musicians, sculptors, pranksters, comedians, and anything else that may bring smiles or laughter to themselves and others are all paths they will take. If they come across someone sad, they will do whatever they can to help cheer them up. The concept of wanting to be alone when sad is foreign to them, and entire communities will come together to comfort or entertain anyone feeling sad, unless explicitly told that they want to be alone.
If someone responds negatively to an act of entertainment from a moontouched’s path, the moontouched will either become distressed and uncomfortable or will redouble their efforts and provide the individual more acts until they find something that entertains the critic. The most common example of this occurs when an outsider is met with a prankster moontouched. While their pranks are rarely harmful, and even the most extreme pranks are all in good fun and accepted by the moontouched, outsiders see them as disruptive and rude, or may even misinterpret them as dangerous. This has led to individuals feeling tormented for long periods of time by a moontouched desperately trying to make them laugh, but the moontouched will usually change tactics if the misunderstanding is explained to them.
Lunar Lifestyle
The moontouched have an abundance of resources and a relatively small population, with reproduction occurring rarely. They hold fertility festivals, where they celebrate the blessed lives they lead, which are held when the moontouched are fertile. These festivals last for up to ten cycles, as measured by complete rotations of their moon around the planet, and during this time is when moontouched and any partners they have or choose will attempt to conceive young, but do not often succeed. Approximately halfway between fertility festivals, successful pregnancies end and the young moontouched are born. Moontouched that conceived during a previous festival will often refrain from attempting so again for several future festivals, or even altogether. While population growth is slow, if resources ever begin to dwindle, many moontouched will leave their home and find new moons to live on. Without a shared day and year between the moons they inhabit, exact numbers are impossible to find. For the purpose of age, the moontouched will measure their life by the number of fertility festivals they attend. They usually have one festival every year that passes on Praece, making their age similar to that of Praecians.
While the moontouched rarely venture to a planet’s surface, they can be found on many moons throughout Mythspace. Their connection to Alune draws them inexorably to settle on moons rather than planets, but it isn’t unheard of for the occasional moontouched to find themselves on a planet’s surface. On most standard moons, there are two variations of moontouched, each named after a bat on the planet they orbit which they bear a resemblance to. Those who live on the surface are the pallid moontouched, and those living in the deep craters of the moon are the hoary moontouched. On more diverse moons, other types of moontouched can be found with adaptations to suit their homes.
Children of the Moon
The moontouched were first encountered by, likely even created by, the distressed goddess Alune on a place they refer to as Luan, which is the moon orbiting the planet of Praece, shortly before the War of Day and Night. Their lunar habitat is often seen as inhospitable, but the moontouched are thriving regardless. This is in part due to Alune’s gratitude to them, with the Goddess blessing their crops to flourish and produce oxygen at an increased rate. In addition, the moontouched can survive with little to no oxygen for long periods of time, often describing the atmosphere of the planets they orbit as rather thick. Every moontouched settlement has a tribute to the Moon Goddess, and only rarely are other faiths practised in these communities. They do not turn away from the worship of other gods, however, and many find faith in gods of art and joy, or even other aspects altogether.
Moontouched Names
The moontouched have three names; One given to them at birth, one chosen by either the individual or the community they live in, and a title befitting their pursuits in life. Their birth names are unisex and usually related to either the name or the features of the moon they were born on. Their chosen name is sometimes the same as their given name, but can be anything they want it to be, usually something that suits their personality or a reference to a favourite joke or song, but they will occasionally make up a name that sounds nice. Finally, their title can be as simple as calling them a singer or comedian, but it can extend to any personal paths they take.
Given Names: Alu, Crater, Dust, Lua, Lune, Moone, Powder
Chosen Names: Aliyah, Hehe, Laughter, Luney, Joy, Smile
Titles: Adventure, Comedia, Dancer, Mischief, Voice
Moontouched Traits
Between the blessings of Alune and their life on the moon, the moontouched possess several traits that set them apart from other races.
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2.
Age. A moontouched child is considered an adult by their thirteenth Fertility Festival, which is celebrated at the beginning of the thirteenth festival, despite their birth being halfway between festivals. By Praecian terms, this means that they are considered adults after twelve and a half years. Moontouched often live to see over a hundred festivals, with some of the eldest making it a bit over a hundred and fifty festivals.
Alignment. Due to their closeness with Alune and their views of joy and laughter being important, many moontouched fall into a more chaotic good stance.
Darkvision. You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern colour in darkness, only shades of grey.
Natural Entertainer. You have proficiency with the performance skill.
Excellent Hearing. You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing.
Low-Oxygen Survivor. You can hold your breath for twice as long as most other races. In addition, in cases with limited oxygen, you expend the air at half the rate of other races.
Innate Spellcasting. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Hideous Laughter spell once per day. When you reach 5th level, you can also cast the Moonbeam spell once per day. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one additional language of your choice.
Subrace. Two main subraces of the moontouched populate the moons of Mythspace: pallid and hoary. Choose one of these subraces.
Pallid
Living on the surface of moons, the pallid moontouched are named such because of their white fur and small frames. Their ears are larger than their hoary counterparts, and they use them to use a form of echolocation, similarly to the bats they resemble. Communities of pallid moontouched live in simple wooden huts, made from the tough wood found in the small forests dotting Luan. The pallid moontouched enjoy watching the stars, and will often pass down fantastical stories about seemingly nonsensical constellations they create.
Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Size. Pallid moontouched adults stand between three and a half and four and a half feet in height. You are surprisingly dense for your size, often weighing as much as an elf. Your size is small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Cantrip. You know the Thaumaturgy cantrip.
Echolocation. You have blindsight up to 15 feet, and can extend this to 30 feet as an action. This effect does not go through solid material. You cannot use this trait while you are Deafened.
Stargazer. Whenever you make a Nature or Survival check related to the stars and constellations, you are considered proficient in the skill and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus.
Hoary
Within the craters and crevasses on the moons of Mythspace, climbing the walls and rolling in the moon’s dust, are the hoary moontouched. This name comes from their brown, grey-tipped fur and the white moon dust they cover themselves in, working it into their fur both to add to their camouflage and to help clean the fur in the pools of water they build their homes around. Villages of hoary moontouched are built diagonally or even vertically, up the sides of craters and crevasses. These villages are easily traversable thanks to the hoary moontouched’s claws allowing them to climb around. While moving about is easy for them, they have adapted a form of telepathy, in order to converse without needing to climb towards each other.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 1.
Size. Hoary moontouched adults usually stand between four and five feet in height. You are surprisingly dense for your size, often weighing as much as a human. Your size is medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Cantrip. You know the Message cantrip.
Expert Climber. You have a base climbing speed of 25 feet. In addition, you can move up, down, and across vertical surfaces while leaving one limb free, and upside-down along ceilings, also with one limb free, as if it were difficult terrain. Keeping a limb free reduces your base climbing speed to 20 feet. You can remain hanging on a vertical surface with no effort, allowing you to rest and even sleep while holding onto most surfaces, so long as you are not hanging from a ceiling.

Review: Mythspace Volume 1
Mythspace Volume 1 is an excellent graphic novel, which takes centuries-old myths and makes them anew for young readers. #Comics #ComicBooks
What I loved about the Predator series is how they played with the mysteries of Egypt. As we find out through the movies and comics is that the Predators have come to Earth throughout the centuries. One of those periods of time being Ancient Egypt. We find out in the Aliens Vs Predator, they are responsible for the pyramids being built.
The creators played with the fact that theorists have…

How about comics/graphic novel recs?
Off the top of my head, the ones I’ve read and loved are–
Saga (Fiona Staples, Brian K. Vaughan) - an adult sci-fi fantasy space opera with a set of diverse lovable characters and an exciting arc. Saga’s storytelling is amazing, combining galactic war hijinks with domestic and heartwarming family moments on top of great art. Seriously - THE ART IS GOALS. Trigger warning though, it’s rated M and can get quite graphic in terms of language, sex and violence..
Lumberjanes (Noelle Stevenson, Grace Ellis and co.) - Five super cute and rad and awesome girls have summer camp adventures. Also addresses issues like sexuality and gender identity in a positive way, never feeling too heavy. It’s wholesome fun and just an over-all feel-good story. I LOVE LUMBERJANES SO MUCH..
The Wicked + The Divine (Gillen and McKelvie) - problematic teens awaken as reincarnations of various gods and become even more problematic celebrities. But also they’re all destined to die in 2 years. Of course everything goes smoothly. This has a good ensemble of characters that you’d either love or hate, and an interesting story that takes its own pace, and of course delicious spins on mythology. Good commentary on fame, relationships and mortality..
Princeless & Raven: The Pirate Princess (Jeremy Whitley) - Princeless follows a princess who gets tired of waiting in her tower, befriends her dragon and goes on an adventure of her own, rescuing other princesses on the way. Raven The Pirate Princess is a spin-off which follows Raven, princess of pirates, supreme badass, and her all-female crew. Both stories are A+..
Monstress (Marjorie Lu and Sana Takeda) - i picked this up because the art was breath-taking??? But the story also turned out to be amazing. It’s steampunk and fantasy, in an Asian-inspired setting, with priestesses and cats and half-humans and gods and demigods and cthulhu… The world is just so rich in detail, like the art! And the MC is a badass disabled asian woman. READ MONSTRESS..
Sandman (Neil Gaiman) - I faithfully collected all volumes of this series as soon as I started on my first job. This one’s kinda old, and a hella long read but it’s also hella good. It’s by my dude Neil Gaiman, and it’s about Dream of the Endless and his siblings Death, Destiny, Desire, Despair, Destruction and Delirium. Who are… metaphysical entities. It’s a story about stories. And about uhhh… existence and dreaming and death and… stories? Y’know, Neil Gaiman stuff..
The Umbrella Academy (Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba) - This one’s getting a Netflix adaptation real soon and I’m excited~ :D Anyways it’s a fun two-volume romp about a dysfunctional family of superheroes. First volume is great family action-drama. Second volume reads like a swag-filled Doctor Who episode. The narrative voice is very… Gerard Way-ish. Has some lines you’ll swear you’ve heard on an MCR song..
Space Battle Lunchtime (Natalie Riess) - A COOKING SHOW! IN SPACE! WITH ALIENS! A CUTE GIRL! WITH A CYBORG GIRLFRIEND! AND ALIEN FRIENDS! IT’S SO CUTE! AND FUN! READ SPACE BATTLE LUNCHTIME!.
Legend of Korra: Turf Wars (Michael Dante DiMartino & Irene Koh) - C’MON IT’S AVATAR KORRA AND HER GIRLFRIEND ASAMI AND THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ON ANOTHER GREAT STORY.
Marvel titles that are my faves:
Angela: Queen of Hel
Ms. Marvel
Runaways
Young Avengers
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur
Patsy Walker AKA Hellcat
Loki: Agent of Asgard.
Backstagers (James Tynion IV & Rian Sygh) - queer theater nerds, where you at? I’ve seen this described as the male equivalent of Lumberjanes, and I have to agree. It’s wholesome fun adventures of a bunch of nerdy theater kids who discover weird supernatural stuff in the basement. With many theater and anime references! There’s a character basically described by the authors as their “Momiji” and of course he was the best character. Fun!.
Hopeless Savages (Jen Van Meter) - two 70′s punk rock icons got together, settled down and had four children. Plot twist: THEY WERE GOOD AT IT. This is a family drama-comedy with quirky lovable characters getting thrown (and sometimes running headfirst) into ridiculous plots. The message of family resilience and defying expectations is great. I loved everything about this series..
Nimona (Noelle Stevenson) - shapeshifting girl employs herself to be an evil villain’s sidekick so they can take down a great hero. My copy of this at home is now worn out because it’s been borrowed by countless younger siblings, cousins and siblings’ friends..
The Prince and the Dressmaker (Jen Wang) - strong ambitious dressmaker gets hired by a crossdressing prince to make him dresses. Prince’s dress-wearing alter-ego becomes a fashion icon. Cue drama and coming of age. THIS IS SUCH A SWEET AND GREAT READ GUYS I’M IN LOVE WITH IT..
Daytripper (Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba) - this one is a profound story about an obituary writer, who reflects on his life’s possibilities - how things could have gone differently had he made different choices, and how it might change how he’s remembered (or not) after his own death. It’s hard to describe exactly, but it’s a very cathartic read..
Sunstone (Stjepan Sejic) - whenever someone asks me what I think of 50 Shades of Grey, I always go “50 what? I’ve read Sunstone. Nothing can come close to that.” So. Yeah. Sunstone is a funny, sexy and sweeet romance story between two women done superbly. Plus, seriously, the bdsm community rep here is great. Thanks Mr. Sejic, it’s what they deserve.
Special Mention:
Mythspace ( Studio Salimbal ) - because HELLS YEAH, Space Opera, Filipino Style! I supported this series back when it came as individually self-published issues in the local comic cons, and I was so proud when they got picked out by a publisher and I saw a bound volume on bookstore shelves. - Anyways, it’s a kid and a bunch of Filipino mythological creatures in space battles and other standalone adventures set in the same universe. It’s published in English, and you can check it out in Tapas or buy issues in gumroad!

Off the top of my head:
Tabi Po by Mervin Malonzo - (Filipino). if you like aswang and gore. There's a live action adaptation on Cignal. See also: After Lambana by Mervin Malonzo & Eliza Victoria (English).
Patay Kung Patay by Mike Alcazaren, Noel Pascual, AJ Bernardo. (Filipino). if you like supernatural, gore, social commentary, and high contrast art styles like Kajo's in Trese's OG run.
Andong Agimat by Arnold Arre. (Filipino). if you like gritty urban fantasy.
14 by Manix Abrera - (Wordless). if you like lower mythology and folklore but prefer less gore . See also: 12, silent comics from the same author.
Mythspace by Paolo Chikiamco, Borg Sinaban, Koi Carreon, Paul Quiroga, Jules Gregorio, Mico Dimagiba, and Cristina Rose Chua . (English). "Space opera. Pinoy style."
Pen Lab hosts a good number of contemporary Filipino comics.
Might be extremely hard to find, but Muros by Paolo Chikiamco and Borg Sinaban is also worth the read if you like detective stuff mixed with sci-fi and lower mythology.
Anyone know any comics or shows similar to Trese?

Holy cow your art is INCREDIBLE!! I hope this doesn't seem rude but do you have any published titles or prints, etc out? I would absolutely LOVE to have hardcopies of your work!!
Aaaah! Thank you so much! Yes I have a published comics. It’s Mythspace, its a collection of stories about Philippine Mythological creatures but reimagined as aliens. I’m one of the artist for a story there. You can probably find it at any National Bookstore branch. I also try to have a store up soon for my prints :)

Back at the @vanartgallery. Even managed to dress up a bit. Take that, anxiety! Okay, that's enough outside world for now. Time to flee to my Mythspace for the night. #art #anxiety #selfie #vancouver (at Vancouver Art Gallery)

Absolute hands down to the Mythspace team. I love their work, and I’m sooo excited for volume 2. Especially @koi-carreon art on Lift Off. It’s definitely my top favourite out of the six.
Bros the human, wielder of the Portal Legacy (At least that’s what I call it)
