Hello :)! Sorry to bother, but i’ve been looking for advice on how to care for pokémon eggs, and then newly hatched pokémon… I saw you two work with pokémon, so I was wondering if you could spare some advice?
If it’s any help, I think it’s a Litleo egg, since my partner’s Pyroar found it. We have it snuggled up with our Pyroar but like. When it hatches, do we have to do extra things to care for it, or will its parent handle that? Do we have to catch it?
Sorry, these are probably very basic questions, but any help would be much appreciated ^-^!
- Connor ( @antirrhinums-de-lis )
First we would like to clarify that we are not any kind of licensed rehab; all advice offered here is strictly non-professional.
So. The good news is, if Pyroar has already taken an interest in caring for the egg, that will make things much easier on you in many regards. You won't have to worry about incubation, and the hatchling should learn things like species-appropriate social skills, play behavior, and fire control from its parent.
However, since it appears Pyroar is a male, you will likely have to take charge of feeding the hatchling. Hatchling feeding schedules are very species-specific, so you will have to have to look up specific care guides. Feeding newborn hatchlings often involves waking up at ungodly hours of the night. Just...be prepared for that.
As for the species: Litleo is a strong possibility, but given that you don't know for sure where the egg came from, it is not a given. Even if Pyroar is the father, Pokémon are more likely to be their mother's species, so you could technically speaking end up with anything in the Field egg group. (Not with equal likelihood, local availability and interspecies dynamics influence what's actually probable, but that is not a formula we're prepared to solve.) If Pyroar is not the father, and it brought home an unrelated egg, then you could end up with anything under the sun.
As for catching it: technically you never have to catch any Pokémon. However, if you want it to be legally yours, you will either need to catch it or have it registered to your trainer ID at the Pokémon Center, and if you decide you are going to rehome it it will be easiest if it has a Pokéball.
Finally: the Pokémon Center is your best friend here. They can assess the egg to determine a likely species, and they have many more resources on egg and hatchling care than we can offer. The hours for your local Center's trainer resource helpdesk should be listed online, and recently some larger Centers have given the option to ask questions by text instead of in person or over the phone.

AHHHHH REINCARNATION AU MY BELOVED!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
Thank you so much AAAAAAAAA I hope some of them meet up somehow
Dreams (and Disasters)
“I wanna feel alive forever after,
And you say, you say,
You wanna feel alive forever after,
And I, and I, and I say,
Follow the line through the,
Dreams and Disasters.”

Laila Greene was born in a private room, in a private ward, in a private hospital, with a private doctor.
Only the best for the heiress of a multi-million dollar clothing company. Only the best for Laila, the darling princess.
(Laila was always used to the best. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth.
But it was something…deeper. Like she was always royalty, even longer than she was alive. Like she was a Queen that lived in an expansive forest, before she was this modern Princess.)

@fae-witch-professor ) Since you're Unovan, or at least in Unova Right?, can you tell us some less talked about portions of Unovan mythology?
Of course! There is this incredibly rare Pokémon called Victini, that can create endless energy inside it. When it touches something, all the energy is released to either aid someone or send out a blast. It is said that whatever trainer is blessed to have it will be victorious in no matter what thing they attempt. There hasn’t been lots of sightings in recent memory, but in another one of our major myths, a great hero wielded it and it helped subdue the two great dragons. (That part is contested a lot, and there is a lot of alternate stories, but that is what I believe)

The Circle of Arceus Doesn't Need Modern Legendaries
Tumblr media
(Source: Centro Leaks)
That's right, it's time for me to post a theory about this.
A lot of people are pointing out that this diagram is obsolete simply because there's been five more regions of legendaries since it was made and it's been...almost 20 years. I think that's only partly true. It actually holds up surprisingly well in modern Pokemon.
GameFreak definitely tried to get away from the whole "legendaries are gods" thing after Gen IV, mostly because where do you go after Arceus? So you don't get a lot of newer legendaries involved in the creation of the Pokemon world.
Plus, GameFreak used to have these random moments where they worried about continuity. Why do we need incense to evolve the Baby Pokemon from Sinnoh? You think players are going to complain that Munchlax should've hatched in Johto? Well, you might be right...but still.
That might be why a lot of newer legendaries have an alibi that explains why they weren't in the Pokemon World when it was created. Many of them were either in Space, or "Ultra" Space:
The Orignal Dragon of Unova
The Cosmog Line
Necrozma
Eternatus
Tumblr media
By the way, some professor really should look into the reason so many incredibly dangerous space dragons are just dropping into the Pokemon world.
Then there's legendaries that are strong in the context of their story, and some are even worshiped, but they're more like regional gods and myths.
The Swords of Justice
The Tapus
The Legendary Heroes
Kubfu Line
Calyrex and His Steeds
The Paradox Duo
The Treasures of Ruin
Ogerpon
Most modern mythicals unfortunately fall hard into this category, to the point that some are literally just a monkey, Zarude. Actually, there's no need to list the others. You get the idea.
But who does fit the circle?
That leaves the Aura Trio, the Forces of Nature, and...Terapagos. In my opinion, these legendaries would be right at home in the circle. The Aura Trio deals in life and death, which is pretty major.
Tumblr media
That Yggdrasil inspiration would make the Aura Trio right at home on the tree of life from the beta origin story. You know, that "giant tree of life" that Rayquaza, Groudon, and Kyogre broke apart, that turned into the sky, earth, and ocean?
The three gathered in a circle and prayed, and the seed sprouted. The sprout quickly grew, and became the giant tree of life. However, the tree continued to grow, soon filling the entire world, and no one was able to move.
(...) RAYQUAZA wrapped its body around the tree of life. GROUDON and KYOGRE slammed their bodies into the tree of life. Eventually, the tree fell and broke into three pieces.
REI, AI, and HAI prayed, saddened that the tree would rot away like this. Then, the pieces of the broken tree would transform into the sky, earth, and ocean. RAYQUAZA became the pillar that holds the sky.
(Source: Centro Leaks)
Yeah, now I'm thinking the Aura Trio are more of a second try at this whole tree of life thing at GameFreak. Because the whole "Rayquaza wrapped its body around the tree" gives me major Yggdrasil vibes. Surprise Pokemon theorists, Nidhogg isn't Zygarde...it's Rayquaza!
Rayquaza did Ragnarok!
But some people think the Aura Trio are aliens who came to earth on the meteor that the Anistar City Moondial was made from, so that would explain why the Aura Trio aren't in the circle. After all, the Unovan Original Dragon came from a meteor just one generation earlier.
Tumblr media
There's also the alleged "original story" rumor for XY that claimed that XY was originally about aliens. The Teraleak probably has something to say about that. So the jury's out about the Aura Trio - they could belong in the circle, but they might be aliens.
(Wait, the rumor was that the alien plot was cut for time? As in, it would have been included (and maybe made less "weird") if they didn't rush? So is THAT was what in Southern Kalos...)
Or maybe my theory is wrong. Deoxys is on the outer layer of the circle after all. Maybe Arceus doesn't discriminate against aliens, they just have to stay on the outer layer. It's not that much of a difference either way - there's plenty of room on the outer layer with the other mythicals. I'm talking about the head honchos really.
The Forces of Nature probably belong on the circle, if we're being honest. They kind of clash with the Legendary Birds' role in the mythos as "weather" gods, but they should be on there.
Lastly...Terapagos is an enigma when it comes to this whole post. It might be more powerful than Eternatus, since "tera" is more power than "giga", right? It's so much power it can literally warp a Pokemon's type. Like Arceus, or genetic engineering.
Tumblr media
And Terapagos isn't an alien like Eternatus, at least there's no evidence of it. It's been stuck underground, but it used to live on land. I would say it's just a really, really powerful Pokemon that isn't technically godly, but it's literally based on the World Turtle, another creation myth.
It's in the same boat as the Aura Trio, only it's not an alien. Except, it is responsible for the "Stellar" type, as in stars. And there is this Pokedex entry:
An old expedition journal describes the sight of this Pokémon buried in the depths of the earth as resembling a planet floating in space.
Who says that planet is Earth? What if that's its homeworld?
Terapagos doesn't just borrow inspiration from the world, but the idea of worlds itself, or the philosophical idea of "turtles all the way down". Not only does it depict a world, but a world on a world. A world on a world on a -
I don't know how to end this. Are all my Teraleak theories going to be this long? I hope not. Happy Teraleak! Enjoy the leak!
---
Edit: Changed the name of the title. It used to be called "Newer Legendaries Just Aren't in Arceus' Personal Circle".
All pics other than the Arceus circle are from Bulbapedia. It's easier that way.

[Hello! Mun behind Jaime here! A lot of this post will be canon information mixed with speculation, personal headcanons, and/or altered information to fit the universe that Jaime is a part of! Because of this, non-canon information will be denoted with blue text!]
Okay! I promised I would write that post about Sigilyph lineages but I thought that it was important to preface that with an equally important history lesson combined with the introduction of the standard Sigilyph.
So, without further ado!
The Traveling Sigilyph
Tumblr media
Perhaps the most recognizable appearance of the Pokémon, the Traveling Sigilyph is by far the most common and well-known shape this species takes. Largely considered the “standard” breed, Traveling Sigilyph can be found all throughout the western world as they aren’t a specific lineage and therefore aren’t genetically connected to a single space.
But funnily enough, Traveling Sigilyph are not solely named for their widespread population. In fact, their name is largely attributed to their role in the Unovan Civil Wars.
And it is here that we must delve into our first history lesson— how war completely reshaped the Unova region.
The Unova region is no stranger to war. Ancient civilizations in Unova had been warring thousands of years before the first Unovan kingdom would even come to be. It is in this era that, just outside of modern-day Iccirus, the Dragonspiral Tower would be constructed. Though it is not known who built it or when it was built, it is the oldest structure in Unova. It is a site of high religious importance, as according to legend, the tower is where Legendary Pokémon are created and slumber.
It is important to note that there is evidence of ancient Sigilyph activity here at Dragonspiral Tower dating back thousands of years, the most recent activity being dated some two-thousand or so years ago. Historians refer to this population of Sigilyph as the Dragonspiral Lineage.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Fast forward a couple hundred years after the construction of Dragonspiral Tower, and the scattered civilizations of ancient Unova are warring once again. It is here that two famous figures would be born: the fabled Heroes of Unova.
Many myths and legends surround the heroes— to the point of having caused several schisms due to disagreements between Unovan religious sects. But regardless of whether these claims are tales or truth, we know for certain that the brothers traveled the region to unite the warring factions under a single kingdom: the Kingdom of Unova— of which the two brothers would be crowned kings.
However, the brothers started to argue over their beliefs; the elder brother sought truth and the younger brother sought ideals. Though no full-scale war came about this disagreement, the kings tried to settle their differences through a series of long and fierce battles, utilizing their Pokemon and the Sigilyph at their disposal in place of human soldier to prevent casualties of their own kingdom. But neither brother was able to overpower the other, and thus the brothers declared that there was no right side.
But despite the outcome of the battle, the damage to their relationship was irreparable. And so one of the brothers (although the identity of the brother is unclear, many historians believe it to be the younger brother) left to build his own kingdom, splitting the Unova Kingdom in two and taking some of the Sigilyph with him.
And this is where the name of the Traveling Sigilyph came to be: they were the Sigilyph that traveled across the region to follow the lonesome brother, and some defecting to follow smaller groups that split off from him.
The Traveling Brother would go on to establish his kingdom in the modern-day Desert Resort, constructing what we now know as the Relic Castle. And even after the king’s death, the kingdom was said to have been the heart of a civilization for people and Pokémon in the Unova region. The civilization reached its peak around 2,500 years ago, when the two kingdoms of the now deceased brothers would merge into one expansive nation.
But this peace would not last.
The descendants of the original twin heroes, the new kings of the unified kingdom, would again spark their forefathers’ disagreement. The ensuing civil war that followed reportedly scorched the earth and shook the very ground, destroying the land of Unova into something unrecognizable from what it once was. And no place is this more apparent than in Desert Resort, a land that used to be full of lush green and expansive forests now reduced to endless sands as far as the eye can see.
The civil war significantly reduced the population of Traveling Sigilyph in Unova and marked the end of the entire lineage of Dragonspiral Sigilyph.
Unfortunately, we don’t know what the Dragonspiral Sigilyph looked like, or if they were physically different from Traveling Sigilyph at all. But considering that they were not a specially-bred lineage, we can only assume that there were little to no visual differences from a standard Traveling Sigilyph.
Nowadays, the Traveling Sigilyph confined to the Desert Resort are referred to as the Relic Lineage, as they dutifully guard the Relic Castle and the remains of the civilization they once called home.

Starting May31, you'll be able to invite Cheren as a guest to the Lodge, tho you'll need to team up with Cheren & Stoutland in their PML chapter first.
Tumblr media
New story content titled Pride of the Myth Seekers will be added to the Mysterious Stones Chapter on Jun1! (You'll need to have collected a total of 700 Mysterious Stones to unlock this story's area.) They mention there'll be some interaction between Volo and Cynthia!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Neo Champions: One More Step to a New Path will begin on May31! Here's their Sync Pair Overviews:
Cheren (Champion) & Tornadus are a Flying-type Tech Sync Pair. Their EX Role is Strike.
Their New Teacher's Quick Wit Passive Skill can increase their Physical Moves ↑ Next and Special Moves ↑ Next effects by one rank when their attack move is successful! Plus, the more their Physical Moves ↑ Next effect is increased, the more it powers up their Moves and Sync Move. Their Black Gale Bleakwind Storm Buddy Move can be activated when they use any move one time. It also gets powered up the more their Physical Moves ↑ Next effect is increased, so we recommend using it in tandem with their Bleakwind Storm Move to keep increasing their Physical Moves ↑ Next effect. Additionally, another Passive Skill of theirs can increase their Physical Moves ↑ Next and Special Moves ↑ Next effects by two ranks after they use their Thoughts of Glory Trainer move or Sync Move.
By teaming up with Cheren (Champion) & Tornadus, you can get a special Friend Snapshot that will be viewable in the Trainer Lodge.
Bianca (Champion) & Virizion are a Fighting-type Strike Sync Pair. Their EX Role is Support.
Their The Will to Protect Passive Skill applies Unova Circle (Defensive) to the allied field of play the first time they enter a battle each battle. On top of that, their Unova Solidarity Trainer move can also apply Unova Circle (Defensive) to the allied field of play! One of their Passive Skills applies the Free Move Next effect to themselves when their attack move is successful while Unova Circle (Defensive) is applied to the allied field of play, letting them continuously attack without using the Move Gauge. Their White Light Sacred Sword Buddy Move lowers the target's Fighting Type Rebuff by two ranks and also lowers the target's Attack and Sp. Atk by three stat ranks. Plus, another Passive Skill of theirs lets them attack while ignoring the target's Passive Skills that would reduce the damage of attacks, Passive Skills that would protect the target against a critical hit, and the target's Enduring effect, making them a Sync Pair that can excel in a wide variety of battles.
An Extreme Battle Event is coming, as well as Special Battle Event Take On Cheren and Bianca!, where you'll be able to battle Cheren and Bianca in their Champion outfits, and Special Event Pasio Special Stadium, which features Cheren as the Champion.
Scheduled from early to mid-June is the return of the Ball Guy event. A Legendary Gauntlet and an Ultimate Battle are also coming.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
New battle content is currently under development. The objective of this battle content is to inflict as much damage as possible to the opponent within the time limit. The grade and rewards you receive at the end of these battles will be determined by how much damage you inflicted. The order in which you attack, strengthen yourself, and weaken the opponent will be vital to dealing more damage. The battles will switch periodically and feature opponents with a specific weakness each time, so you can use a variety of Sync Pairs!
Next message will come in late-June!
Here's the events schedule from Reddit!

Any thoughts on the new pokemon legends teaser announcement thing?
So
So many thoughts.
Alright, my first game was XY, Y specifically, wanted X, they didn’t have it, got Y. Bacon Birb Superiority.
So kalos has always held a very special place in my heart because of that, but I had the most cracked playthrough. It was the middest game, immense wasted potential, and desperately needed a follow up instead of hap hazardously cramming it into SM as an after thought.
I did not use any of the normal starters, I used the event torchic with speed boost. Lowkey did not realize torchic wasn’t a kalos pokemon till 8 months into ORAS… but it makes a great story.
Anyways, I played the shit out of XY, managed to get 999+ hours on my own, just playing, doing daily things, trading online, GTS, everything. I managed to get every legendary/myth and then every shiny legendary/myth just no lifing the online system as a kid. It’s where my collection of legends comes from this day, I also got my first mew via the GameStop drop. That mew was cloned and became Bucket and “Meau” before Meau was Meau.
As well as I got Diancie before its release. Found a dude who had a brother who pulled some strings and yoinked one, before having another rando I meant clone it. My biggest flex, probably in any Pokémon game was my diancie lol
So safe to say, I was ESTATIC by the news, I wanted either a Johto Legends or Kalos legends, much more then Unova. As Johto/Gen 2 are my favourite games and generations. So I’ll be rooting for Johto anything after this ;3

F/O Headcanons: Pokemon Universe Edition!
(More will be added with time)
(Also, many of these are inspired from headcanons I’ve previously read, so you may recognize them. Unfortunately, most of these have been in my phone for a long time so I don’t remember some of the original sources; if you do though, please message me so I can give proper credits)
Aromatisse tend to make potpurri nests
Nessa and Raihan are cousins.
Leon does not know how to break open a safe or pick locks… Hop knows how to do both. In fact Hop has numerous skills that are also a little shady.
It’s hard keeping a Riolu at their beginning stage because they are very loving, loyal and friendly pokemon. Don’t give your kid a Riolu because you will be taking care of a Lucario.
Phantump can possess all kinds of tree stumps (fruit trees, redwoods, birch trees, etc.). This gives them some natural variation in appearance.
Kirlia will often "intern" under Gallade and Gardevoir in order to enhance their psychic abilities. Which one a Kirlia trains under is thought to influence its evolution if male.
Magikarp are popular among breeders because they have a good amount of variation and produce lots of eggs. You can get Magikarp/Gyarados in various colors and patterns because of this. This is also true among Rattata, but they’re less popular due to people considering them weak and boring.
Absol are known for being paranoid. They are extremely protective of their trainers and will try to prevent any negative thing from happening to them, even if that thing is "leaf blows into their face" or something equally mundane.
Sylveon and Umbreon get along surprisingly well because they're both stealth hunters.
One popular textile company uses a stylized Leavanny for their logo.
Modern Pokeballs create simulations for the Pokemon inside that make them feel like they're in a large environment. In addition to making the Pokeball feel extra comfortable, they also help keep the Pokemon enriched.
Eevee and their evolutions arguably have the cutest courtship rituals on the planet. They start off by showing interest with short yips and sniffing, studying each other. After that, play-fighting ensues. When that's done, the pair share tiny kisses on the cheek.
Umbreon can spray poison from their rings. They can poison themselves if they breathe it in accidentally due to not being poison-types, but the toxins are pretty mild.
Leavanny can fly, but only for very short distances and not very far off the ground.
A popular rumor states that the more powerful the Lucario the more black they have on their bodies, but there's nothing scientific to back up this claim.
There are some that believe that Fidough evolve faster when around fire-type Pokemon. This claim has yet to be scientifically backed, however.
Young Vulpix will actively try to get their trainers to "hold their paw for reassurance.
The Leavanny line becomes incredibly agitated if they don't have any materials to "sew" with, so make sure they have access to plenty of greenery.
Absol live in isolation out in the wild, only coming together to breed and take care of their pups.
Jolteon oddly prefer sparkling water. Many theorize that the breed generally prefer foods that cause ‘tingly’ sensations as it’s similar to the hum of electricity.
Legendary and guardian pokemon in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos are so rarely seen they are thought of as myths. Meanwhile the Tapu guardians in Alola have shown up in people's backyards to mess around with their sprinklers and lawn ornaments.
Luxray are used as police or medical Pokemon in Sinnoh due to their ability to see through objects and strong stature. They are good at finding and retrieving victims and people who need assistance. Along with that they can be trained to listen for heartbeats and give electricity in a way similar to an AED.
There is a superstition in Johto that if an Eevee jumps into a child's crib, the child is blessed. Often times for baby showers, the mother is gifted an Eevee egg for this very reason. When the kit hatches, it is left in the room with the baby. If the Eevee stays by the child's side, but outside the crib, the child is destined to be average and live a normal life. However, if the Eevee jumps inside the crib and sleeps next to the child, the child will be blessed with fortune, prosperity, and joy.
It's thought that having someone with a positive aura take care of Riolu eggs helps them to hatch faster.
Eevees tend to mimic the personality and habits of their trainers. If their trainer tends to be energetic, the Eevees will get a share of that energy too. If, on the other hand, the trainer tends to be more on the relaxed and a bit lazy side the Eevees will behave like that too.
Popplio are frequently used for public performances and other forms of entertainment. It works out nicely, as it serves as excellent enrichment for them
Swablu's soft, cotton-y down is a favorite filler for pillows, especially because they shed it often. Nowadays it's more common to find synthetic substitutes.
Eevee’s love to be groomed and accessorized, especially on their tail. They don't like baths though but they groom themselves well.
Hisuian Growlithe/Arcanine are still found in some volcanic regions, but they are incredibly rare and protected under law.
A group of Chingling/Chimecho are known as a gong.
While Vulpix and Ninetales have incredible fur, harming one is considered bad luck and, in some areas, sacrilegious.

the link between views of siblinghood and views of various legends is quite fascinating, honestly.
zacian and zamazenta are often viewed as siblings, with zacian being the older sister and zamazenta being a younger brother, although, of course these are merely human views in myths. their relationship, who is older than who, brothers or sisters, rivals or friends or enemies, always changes depending on the myth, of course. pre-darkest day views and post-darkest day views, even modern views after the second darkest day, as well as which group within galar.
thunderous, tornadus, and landorus are viewed as brothers and certain parts of unova. the celestica people also held this belief while also worshipping their sister enamorus, whose worship has fallen out of favor significantly modern day. a shame. shes an interesting diety. the diamond and pearl clans also worshipped the genies, although how much varies depending on the time period. they also don't seem to have any records of enamorus worship. leaving her a diety primarily worshipped by the long, long, dead celestica people.
outside of alola it is often presumed that lunala and solgaleo may be siblings due to many other religions dedicated to more human gods having similar ideas but this actually isn't the case! alolan myths actually have very little connection between solgaleo and lunala outside of them meeting on occasion and what not and mentions of them coming from the same home (of course what we now know as ultra space). while lunala and solgaleo are a related species, both evolving from cosmog, they're hardly all siblings, and traditional alolan beliefs didn't think so either, and they didnt even know basically anything about cosmog!
the most fascinating belief is the one held by many sects of aurean worship. that yveltal, xerneas. and xygarde are siblings. the first siblings, to be exact. how fitting that life, death. and balance would be the start of it all? having an anount of children that was divisible by 3 was all the rage in kalos for much of history, with triplets often being given special treatment. if you could be paired with two siblings, you wwre all that much closer to the gods. first comes xerneas, sprouting life and creating the creatures of the world, then comes yveltal, taking that life and destroying the bodies, and finally comes zygarde, balancing them all and ensuring that from life comes death and from death comes life. the first born was said to be like xerneas, the second born like yveltal, and the third born like zygarde, but what exactly that means depends on the time period and sect.
most interesting i find is how gender plays into the aura trio's myths about siblinghood. very, very early aurean worship seemed to link all three to both men and women and sometimes neither. for most of history, xerneas was assigned a gender by worshippers most often, although which one wasn't actually consistent until about 2500 years ago, where xerneas seemed to be firmly decided as a woman. to be expected of a life god, i suppose. shortly after this, yveltal and zygarde began also being assigned genders as well. the perception of yveltal often switches from male to female back to neither or both depending on the era. nowadays, it depends on the sect. zygarde is almost universally depicted as their brother, although more vague genderless sibling interpretations do occasionally seep through. personally, i think all three are genderless, or at least far removed from a human idea of gender, but that doesn't really matter.
how fascinating that while her siblings get to take turns being brother, xerneas will always be a sister? how sad that every idea of womenhood will always be forced onto a god that may not even know it? how sad that a brother becomes a sister when its convenient to worshippers? the first siblings will have their relationships defined by all the siblings that came after. the first siblings will be torn apart by people who dont know what that kind of love means.
my personal feelings are leeching in, and this post is getting too long. i hope you all found this as interesting as i do :>

You there! Pokeverse creator! explain the general plot of Pokemon Iridium and the major differences in a simplified way!
Tumblr media
well sure! truth be told iridium is kinda just me going “here’s how i would change the plots of pokémon stories if i had creative control!” and being very self indulgent with it, so it’s not like it’s one big overarching story, but i’d say one of the major themes is definitely legendary pokémon and how they interact with the world! i treat them more like gods than really powerful pokémon (you know, how green myths will have stories of the gods screwing around and messing with mortals all the time) because i think legendary pokémon are so cool and i like them :]
Tumblr media
i crammed all the protagonists together on this canvas so there they all are but i’ll try to summarize the different arcs as best as i can
RED AND BLUE (gen 1): team rocket has taken over kanto and johto and fused them into The Rocket Empire. giovanni has captured the legendary birds and keeps them as pets. red tries and fails to stop giovanni from using mewtwo to unlock travel to alternate dimensions. he gets so sad about this he goes to live alone on a mountain
GOLD AND GREEN (gen 2): green, red’s kid friend, wants to get red down from the mountain. gold, the heir to team rocket (he’s basically like if gold and silver fused) tries to stop her from messing with the rockets. archer, a former rocket leader who defected, befriends green because they both wanna take down the rockets. red comes down from mt silver at the end, revealing the legendary beasts were protecting him up there
EMERALD (gen 3): may and her family (norman and zinnia) are the last of the draconids. archie and maxie are trying to expand the land/expand the sea. near the end of their evil plans they get possessed by groudon and kyogre who are mad that nobody worships them anymore (because they’re jerks). may and rayquaza work together to beat them. maxie dies during a cave in at the cave of origin so archie puts on a magical suit of armour and hunts down jirachi at the battle frontier to try and get three wishes to revive him, with the help of frontier brain lucy who wants to retire in a big mansion full of hunky boys because she’s sick of being a frontier brain
DIAMOND AND PEARL (gen 4): dawn and lucas are the human disguises of dialga and palkia who get sent down to earth every time giratina gets incarnated into another human vessel that’s about to cause trouble (it’s a banishment thing). in the past they were sent to defeat volo (legends arceus) but now they’re sent to defeat cyrus. cyrus ends up breaking the cycle by going into the distortion world and living there happily

I think if Danny existed in the same universe as Ash Ketchum, he'd be a fan.
This got really long so I'm just gonna
I'm a believer in "Ash is God[1]'s favorite idiot (positive...?) and so is eternally 10" and also anti the level reset propaganda. I think tales of the kid who went head-to-head with several legendaries[2] and won would probably get around. Maybe they wouldn't know his name, but a general description would make the rounds. A black-haired, dark-eyed kid who is always, always accompanied by a Pikachu. Often seen with some kind of red hat.
I think Danny "God's favorite idiot (Time God[3] edition)" would start looking for this elusive child who seems to be under a similar predicament to him (Hisuian Zorua[4]!Danny anyone? C'mon, this is the Pokédex entry "A once-departed soul, returned to life in Hisui. Derives power from resentment, which rises as energy atop its head and takes on the forms of foes. In this way, Zorua vents lingering malice[5]". He would be the specialest one, though. Because he'd be a green shiny instead of blue. Maybe that would be because he's half dead, not completely so? Or maybe because he'd be artificial, kinda like Type: Null[6]? (I know it isn't the first artificial Pokémon, but he's the first I thought of because of the design being like it's a Frankenstein of other Pokémon). Imagine though. Hisuian Zorua is extinct, right? Because it's from before Sinnoh was called Sinnoh[7]. So he's already a rare Pokémon, but he's not even shiny. He's truly a one of a kind.), though Ash, contrary to popular belief, isn't a Pokémon. Just un-aging.
Here, Danny's parents would be science-y people -maybe even some lower importance Pokémon professors- who don't believe in psychics even though the Pokémon world has people that can do telekinesis, and don't believe that Ghost types were once human, as most of them are said to be, anyway. They therefore believe that all Ghost types are malicious because they prey on people's grief and loss. They'd be the people to find out that Dark types are supereffective against Ghost types[8]. They'd have mostly Dark types with some Normal types as well.
Jazz would be a scholar probably, researching the myths and history around all the legendaries, but especially around Ghost types. She'd become an expert in behaviors from Pokémon like Litwick[9].
Sam would be on the front line, protecting the Ghost types from them. Hiding, harboring, etc all that she can think of. For her own Pokémon that she catches or at least takes care of (maybe she'd be more of an N type of trainer) she'd go more for the aesthetic or for rescued Pokémon (like Ash does quite often) more than their type or their abilities, but I also think she'd vibe with Fighting types a lot. I can see her wanting to be a Pokémon Ranger[10].
Tucker would be your classic inventor wannabe Electric type gym leader, but he'd be one of those hardcore competitive trainers. He'd be excellent at type advantages and IVs grinding, but I also think he'd struggle like Ash did with Charizard and some others. He would sometimes over level them and they'd stop listening to him, get an attitude when they evolve. Stuff like that. He's gotta learn that there's more to Pokémon battles than statistics and the theoretical. I think Ash is gonna end up being the one to teach him this. Also imagining his mom as a Nurse Joy.
However, when the Fentons find a... shiny? Zorua? In their house, posing as their son? They freak out a bit. They know it's not their son because the eyes are the wrong color, even if it speaks with Danny's voice and makes expressions with Danny's face. But they're in Unova. They recognize the Pokémon once it transforms.
Zoruas are known to play tricks on parents. They're Dark types with a mischievous side. They just gotta look for its mama and hope that it has taken Danny by mistake. They decide to take care of it in the meantime, even consider keeping it in case it doesn't have a mama and was using Danny's disappearance to keep itself safe.
Danny doesn't know what to do. At first he thinks about coming clean, but he knows. He knows that whatever invention of theirs blew up in his face didn't just turn him into a Zorua. People don't just turn into any kind of Pokémon. So he doesn't say anything, and plays along. He practices his illusions to try and get his looks as close as he can to before the accident, but it doesn't work for his eyes. No matter what he does, they're green, just like his fur markings when he's tranformed.
But then... Then they realize that it's not an Unovan Zorua.
This Zorus is a Ghost type.
A Ghost type taking Danny's form.
Their baby is dead. It killed him and this… this monster had the audacity to try and, what, replace him?
They start calling him Phantom.
Danny has to run.
It's easier to fake being a kid on a Pokémon journey than a rare version of a rare version of an extinct Pokémon. The only problem is that he's lacking the documents for it. Sam helps out with funding and supplies for the journey, enough to get to Professor Juniper and get a Pokédex, and with that a trainer license. At least until she and Tucker can join him.
They convince their parents to let them go on a journey, somehow. Sam's parents aren't thrilled by their daughter wanting to take part in the fights, they'd much prefer it if she joined Pokémon Contests, but perhaps her grannie Ida used to be a Gym leader of some kind and manages to turn them in Sam's favor. Meanwhile, Tucker's parents knew he wanted to become a Gym leader, so they were prepared and aware he'd one day go and leave the nest, but they'd always assumed Danny would be the one accompanying him, not Sam. They aren't surprised, however, that the kids want to get out after what -supposedly- happened to their friend.
The first few months are absolutely miserable all around. Danny is all alone, he has no Pokémon to defend himself, and he's still figuring out how his own powers work. What's his move set? His ability? And Sam and Tucker aren't fairing much better. They're like Misty and Ash at the very start, or even Iris and Ash. They're making good progress in terms of getting to Danny quickly, but they're not doing good on the Pokémon training part of their Pokémon journey.
Professor Juniper sends the Starters in the mail in the first Gen V game, while in the second Belle is the one to give them to you. I still think Prof. Juniper just. Shipped the Pokéballs over, and I imagine Sam wouldn't be too happy about it. I think she'd choose Tepig (as I said, I think Fighting types and her would vibe), and Tucker for Snivy (his first struggle. Snivys are snarky and a little self centered. if it doesn't want to listen to Tucker, it won't. Tucker gotta earn its respect). They leave Oshawott with Jazz, who promises to help them derail her parents whenver possible and uses Oshawott to sabotage them.
They end up in a kind of "Ash and Team Rocket"-like situation, where Team Phantom gets chased through Unova -and then Alola or whichever other region they decide to escape to- while the Fentons try to catch the Pokémon they're convinced killed their son.
Danny-as-Phantom would get a reputation because of his looks and the general mayhem his parents cause with their chase. Some people would get very curious about this Pokémon, especially Team Rocket. so maybe that's how meeting Ash happens.
Phantom gets separated from Sam and Tucker, maybe they got captured, or are busy distracting the Fentons. Ash ends up trying to console a scared little Zorua, one he's never seen anything like before, before Team Rocket shows up. He puts the little Zorua down behind him and goes:
"When are you going to give up?! I won't let you have Pikachu!"
"Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, twerp. We're not here for Pikachu this time. We're here for that little Zorua behind you."
"Oh. Well, we're not letting you get it, either!"
Cue Pokémon battle.
At this point I imagine Team Phantom got to Alola, so we can also have a Tucker+Sophocles meeting. I'm still not over that kid's name btw.
Ash would be starry-eyed at Tucker. Boy liked tech. Maybe Tuck gets himself a particularly stubborn Pichu during their travels and causes Ash to get flashbacks.
He'd be Phantom's rights n1 protector. Starts batting away all the pokeballs people try to throw at him, like physically getting in the way.
Ooh what if the Thermos is a Ghost type specific MasterBall? It has a 100% catch rate but only with Ghost types. It didn't used to work, but then Danny charged it with one of his moves and -since Ghost moves are supereffective on Ghost types- it charged it perfectly. Danny uses it to catch rowdy Ghost types, of whom he's slowly becoming the King without realizing. Arceus started this whole thing that he couldn't stand Danny, but Dialga really liked the guy so he let him meet Ash to see how it would go and damn. Ash likes him. I mean, it's hard for Ash to hate truly hate someone, so it's not that surprising, but now Arceus finds Itself incapable of taking Danny away from Dialga. Sure! It can keep the kid! Whatever! They all want to be like It nowadays >:( copycats.
Danny is close to becoming a mystical pokémon due to all he does and the myths he's causing during his journey, but Arceus isn't convinced it's a good idea for him to have that status. First of all, because Darkrai might riot, second of all because it hasn't been that long and Danny is still, at the very least partially, a human child.
Shut up, It's not being hypocritical >:( it's fine when It does it.
But also Danny can now communicate with all pokémon with ease. He's not a Ditto, so he still can't fully comprehend some specific pokémon languages, like Electric types communicating via electric currents, but he gets around.
He doesn't like playing translator, though, and Pikachu learns that pretty quickly when pi starts to try and pester him to convince him to tell pi's trainer all about their journey from the beginning from pi's perspective. Danny makes it to the bike stealing before he uses an illusion to vanish.
Pikachu just has a lot of feelings about it all, ok? Pi loves Ash so much and pi wants him to know! Wants to talk about Ash-Greninja, about the Kalos Crisis, about Latias, about Delia, about N, about all the pokémon they left behind, about the pokeballs, about evolution.
Pi also wants more ketchup, but it's low on pi's list of priorities.
Danny isn't up for playing mediator, however. Though he might mention the ketchup stuff. Just to piss pi off.
@jadenoryuu hope you don't mind the tag, I thought you might have ideas or just like this one lol no pressure.
Husuian Zorua can learn some Ice type moves, I'm imagining Lillie's Alola Vulpix learning with him.

In honor of spooky season, here's a spooky crossbreed!
Pokemon Crossbreeds: Will-Ó-the-Wisp
Will-Ó-the-Wisp, also spelled as Will-o-wisp in Unova, is the name for a Phantump/Trevenant with a father that's a member of the Litwick Line. The breed was named after the fairytail of the same name, which arre ghostly flames found in forests.

Phantump
Tumblr media
Will-Ó-the-wisp Phantump have gained the illusion of a flame on their head, which can help them lure more people into forests.
(I don't normally put shinies, but I like this ones shiny)
Tumblr media
Trevenant
This breed of Trevenanr have gained Bioluminecent leaves that help then lure away intruders. In their neutral form, they have gained leaves that take the shape of Chandelure's flame. They're most feared in Ballonlea, Galar, with there being many myths of them being evil fairies made stronger by chandelure. However, these pokemon are just protective of their territories and have a kind nature.
