Initiate of the mythic dawn
August 13th – secret or golden
in Gwilin's youth after the fall the Battlespire he began to worship Mehrunes Dagon seeing him for a positive force of change. Gwilin can be seen here getting the tattoo he would later have to hide during the oblivion crisis...

Gifted to him by Mankar Camoran, because you’re not going to be part of that family if you’re not a walking advertisement.
Despite its intentions SH actually quite likes the robes because they’re some of the best thiefwear he’s ever had.

Just the base beneath the outfit. I liked it and was sad to have to cover it up ;-; He’s so lanky

One of the things that irritates me so much about the Elder Scrolls fandom is people taking literally any of the things that Mankar Camoran says when he is very obviously a weird cultist writing cosmological propaganda.
He literally claims Lorkhan is a Deadra and that Nirn is a realm of Oblivion, which would make absolutely no fucking sense at all and HE CAN'T EVEN GET THE NAME OF MERIDIA'S REALM RIGHT
I am BEGGING TES fans, BEGGING YOU to understand the one thing that Oblivion makes unbelievably clear which is that he is diegetically a propagandist making up absolute horseshit to justify why he's helping the Deadric Prince of Blood Oceans and Turbomurder invade Nirn, please TES fans it's like the most obvious thing ever I am begging you please understand that

been having massive brainrot about my recent skyrim mc so here are some things about her that i would like to share:
unironic mehrunes dagon and namira worshipper
joined the stormcloaks not because she particularly cares about the politics of skyrim (shes a breton, she has enough internal strife to think about) but because oh boy wouldnt it be fun to be part of a revolution
doesn't have any problems with the empire, just the fourth era thalmor (understandably)
thinks the thalmor weren't actually too bad during the first and second altmeri dominion(s), just hates those in the current era. both because of the obvious xenophobia and because they took credit for "saving the altmeri people" post-oblivion crisis
^^ part of the reason she worships dagon, she believes their failure to prevent another oblivion crisis will lead to people questioning them and ultimately their downfall in tamriel
joined the dark brotherhood simply because she likes murder. she truly does not give a fuck about sithis or the tenets
simultaneously a massive nerd who loves history and collecting books. yes this means i have to find every single book and yes it is a pain in the arse organising them all
helps the citizens of skyrim not because she cares but because she's bored and needs something to pass the time / make money before she can finally go home. best believe she does not remember anyone's name
^^ she ends up actually enjoying life in skyrim and never leaves
got stuck in skyrim by accident, was intending to journey to the mythic dawn headquarters in cyrodiil but got stopped at the border
ofc there is still more about her that i haven't put into words yet but maybe i will eventually add those if people actually care enough

I think Mankar Camoran is unto something when he says Tamriel (or Nirn I guess) is just another realm of Oblivion. But also, it explains his attitude: his beliefs means he doesn't think Tamriel is special, or worth defending. He is detached from this world.
As this fantastic video argues, the Mythic Dawn managed to recruit so many people by capitalizing on the class conflict and the oppression of the empire, an empire that is tearing at the seams. In this sense, members of the Mythic Dawns are cosmic accelerationist: better to burn it all and try again in a new Mythic age. Of course, Mankar Camoran doesn't tell them WHAT this new age would look like, that's the quiet part.
I am not completly sure on that part, but I think the reason Mankar Camoran want a new mythic age is so that it become easier to achieve godhood, and that's why CHIM is mentioned in the Commentaries.
(Also, I am aware that he names the wrong Daedric domain, but the Elder Scrolls cosmology is designed to allow for many interpretation, so it's possible to find an explanation.)

Thinking about my Mythic Dawn assassin OC and how she flees from Summerset after her parents declare her a hulkynd for her burn scars. Mankar Camoran finds her in the streets of Anvil and sees opportunity in this small pathetic child, so he takes her in. Because she’s so desperate for love and acceptance, she responds quite easily to the indoctrination, but it’s not until Mankar tells of how he transformed himself from a bosmer into an altmer through the power and teachings of Mehrunes Dagon, that she finds herself filled with hope and wonder and faith, because if Dagon could do a great thing as that, then how simple it must be for him to change her body from that of a boy to one of a girl. Even though Mankar tells her that removing her scars would be a simple feat combined with everything else, she keeps them because they remind her of the fire and destruction that changed her life forever to be on that path. They remind her of Dagon’s sphere. That would be the same day she shed her former name to become Tamrialle, the Beauty of Dawn.
But her outward scars are not the only she kept. Deep down, hidden inside, in spite of all the teachings and brainwashing to tell her otherwise, she remembers the horror of the fire and she still fears death. Even when she kills Uriel, one of the greatest honors a Mythic Dawn cultist could have, she fears death. And after that moment, her life could go anywhere. Or nowhere.
