Mystics in Bali sees a US occult researcher attempting to learn a forbidden form of magic in Indonesia and getting caught up as a pawn and vessel in her mentor’s plans of revenge and a fight between rival sorcerous factions.

This movie shows up on a lot of worst movies or craziest movies lists online and while it’s not my favorite by any stretch I think a lot of that may be about something other than the movie itself. Leave it at that.

Bright colors, strange and beautiful images, hallucinatory glitch from satellite tv feeds. I stumbled upon the title, seen humorously spoken on an english teacher program. Images and sound were gathered during 10 months in: Indonesia (Java/Bali), Malaysia (Penang/Malacca), and Thailand (Ayutthaya/ Krabi).
