Chapter 5

“We… we need a plan,” Stanford says after a while, once they’ve all pulled apart from their group huddle.

“Well,” Fiddleford says, standing up. “Here’s step one; I gotta get you boys all fixed up.”

“What?” Stanford glances at Stanley, then furrows his brows at Fiddleford. “I’m fine.”

“Your eye’s bleeding, hun.”

“That happens,” Stanford says, blinking a few times before angrily swiping at his face with the heel of his hand. “Just an unfortunate side effect of…”

“Let me get ya cleaned up, at least,” Fiddleford says gently once it was clear he didn’t intend to continue.

He moves over to the fridge and retrieves a bottle of water. He’d prefer to use the filtered water from outside, but after the night’s events, he was hesitant to let them out of his sight. He's hesitant to let himself out of their sight, afraid that without their eyes on him, without a direct plan of action, he’ll fall apart.

He's fine, Fiddleford tells himself as he retrieves a clean cloth from the nearby countertop. There's no blood on the counter where Stanford hit his head.

“Does your head hurt any?” Fiddleford asks, twisting the lid off the water and using it to wet the cloth.

“It’s felt better, but I don’t think I have a concussion, if that’s what you’re asking.”

“I’ll be the judge of that,” Fiddleford says, flashing the light in his eyes again. His pupils dilate as expected, and are still as round as they should be. “Who’s the president?”

“Ronald Reagan, that bastard,” Stanford says quickly, clearly, and with audible contempt.

“Good,” Fiddleford reassures, reaching out to card his fingers through the hair around his temple. His hair is greasy and a bit sweaty, but not bloodied. “I didn’t break your cheek or anything?”

“You’re not that strong, Fiddleford,” Stanford says with a tired smile. “Bill just has bad balance.”

“And thank goodness for that,” Fiddleford says, gently ruffling his hair before pulling away to retrieve the wet cloth he left on the counter.

“I can handle this,” Stanford says, catching Fiddleford’s hand before it can reach his face. “Just… take care of Stanley?”

“I will,” Fiddleford agrees, reluctantly handing off the cloth.

“And, Fiddleford…?”

“Hm?”

“I… I really am sorry. For everything.”

Fiddleford sighs, turning away.

“I know you are, Ford.”

He retrieves another rag from the counter, and then has to dig through the cabinets for a bottle of antiseptic. He’ll admit, his organizational system could use some work, but he finds it eventually. He even keeps bandages in the same place, which he retrieves as well.

Fiddleford had taken a few bottles from the remains of what had once been a convenience store, figuring through context clues that it was some substance used to clean wounds. It stung like a motherfucker, but it had kept his arm from rotting off entirely.

Fiddleford soaks the cloth, and turns to Stanley, who has been watching the proceedings in polite silence from his place on the couch the whole time. He stiffens a bit once Fiddleford’s full attention is upon him.

“Take off your shirt,” Fiddleford instructs.

“Woah, Fidds, I didn’t know you were freaky like that,” Stanley jokes, but his smarmy smile is a bit strained. “You heard the guy, Sixer, you’d better clear out.”

“He is not propositioning you, you knucklehead,” Stanford snaps.

“Right, I’m sure he’d much rather fiddle Ford,” Stan’s grin widens. “Heyo! Haha!”

“What! What are you even—“ Stanford’s face flushes.

“Stanley,” Fiddleford cuts in firmly. “Stop goofing around, this is serious.”

“Yeesh, Fidds,” Stanley says, deflating. “I've had worse, I’ll be fine.”

“Just let me do this for ya, Stanley,” Fiddleford insists. “Infections can get real nasty, and I don’ know what I’d do with myself if I’d let ya get one under my care.”

The ‘let me take care of you for my sake, not your own’ was a tried and true method for Stanford, and it seemed to work on Stanley as well. He sags a little, letting out a belabored sigh before delicately taking his shirt off. It was a slow and visibly painful process as sweat stuck it to his skin and he tried to avoid jostling his shoulder, but it came off eventually.

Even in the dim light, Fiddleford could make out a multitude of scars across Stanley’s abdomen. Combined with the ones he’d already seen on his face and arms, they told a story of a life hard lived. Fiddleford knew that Stanley had been kicked out at seventeen– Stanford, as it turns out, was a very sad and very talkative drunk— but Stanford had always assumed his twin was doing fine for himself, so Fiddleford assumed the same.

Clearly, that wasn’t the case, but it also wasn’t the point.

“Sit down against the armrest, will ya?”

In a surprising display of obedience, Stanley folds his arms protectively around his middle and does so without complaint. One hand cups itself firmly over a jagged scar just above his hip, blocking it from view a little too late.

Fiddleford stations himself behind Stanley, taking in the wound. He recognizes the symbol burned into his shoulder, of course, had almost burnt himself against it a few times, but he’s not about to ask how it ended up branded so deeply into his shoulder of all things. Besides, that's hardly his biggest concern right now.

Whatever scabbing might have been present had been torn away by Stanford’s nails, leaving the wound open and agitated. There’s red scratch marks carving their way up his shoulder, but Fiddleford’s more worried about the reddened, swollen skin all around it; the beginning of cellulitis, Fiddleford reckons. Luckily, it only covers a small area, and the foul odor just comes from Stanley’s stained clothes, as far as he can tell.

It’s not too late. Ideally, Stanley would be taking some antibiotics orally, and maybe some painkillers too, but things haven’t been ideal in a long while.

“Alright buddy, keep your mouth closed, this is gonna hurt,” Fiddleford warns.

“Yeah yeah, I’ll be fine, nerd,” Stanley says, waving a hand dismissively. “Nothing I haven’t felt before.”

“You worry me, Stanley,” Fiddleford notes. He wants to steady Stanley with a hand on his shoulder, but he doesn’t have a hand to spare. “Here goes…”

He starts at the top of his shoulder, wiping at the scratch marks Stanford’s nails left. They aren’t deep enough to draw blood, but they’ve broken skin enough to hurt as Fiddleford wipes them down. Stanley hisses through his teeth, but remains in place.

That is, until Fiddleford drags the cloth lower, down to the actual body of the burn. Stanley’s entire body jerks violently away, and Fiddleford himself flinches back from the sudden movement.

“Fuck!” Stanley grits out, folding forward over his legs, hands clenched into tight fists. “Son of a bitch, Fidds, what do they put in that stuff?”

“I don’ rightly know,” Fiddleford confesses apologetically. “All I know is that it does the trick, if you actually let me use it.”

“Easier said than done,” Stanley grumbles, eyeing Fiddleford over his shoulder. The hurt, the mistrust in his eyes stings a bit, but Fiddleford pushes it aside.

“I know, I know,” Fiddleford soothes, “maybe… Stanford, darlin’, could you hold Stanley still?”

Stanford looks over, eyes wide. His face is clean now, and he’d retrieved his glasses from the back of the couch at some point.

“Um,” Stanford sputters. “I… yes, I can do that.”

It’s clear to Fiddleford that he very much does not want to do so, but he obediently moves over to sit in front of Stanley. Awkwardly, he places one hand on Stanley’s uninjured shoulder and presses the other to his sternum. His gaze lingers on a scar near his armpit, just beside where Stanford placed his hand. It’s a burnt puncture wound, a bullet wound, worryingly close to his lungs. It takes him a moment to tear his eyes away to look up at Stanley’s face.

“I— is this okay?” Stanford asks, his tone uncharacteristically uncertain.

Stanley just rolls his eyes, but he doesn’t complain. Fiddleford gives Stanford what he hopes is a reassuring smile when he glances up at him.

“Ready?” Fiddleford asks softly. Stanford nods, while Stanley lets out a grunt of acknowledgment.

Fiddleford returns the cloth to Stanley’s shoulder. Stanley keens painfully, slamming his head down on Stanford’s shoulder as he grits his teeth and fists his hands into his shirt. Fiddleford winces, but wills his hand to remain steady as he forces himself to continue.

“Sorry, sorry,” Stanford mumbles frantically. Fiddleford understands the sentiment. Stanley just whimpers in response, shaking his head.

“Almost done, Stanley, hang in there,” Fiddleford murmurs soothingly.

He scrubs away at the last section of his wound, makes sure there’s no visible debris stuck within the burnt flesh, and then finally, mercifully, pulls away.

“Done, that’s it, I’m done, y’all right?” Fiddleford says, as steadily as he can.

He moves as far away as he can on instinct, nearly tripping over the tangle of blankets that make up Stanley’s bed before he slams his back into the counter. Stanford is staring at him, brows furrowed, but he can’t read his expression beyond ‘displeased’. Stanley doesn’t respond, just slumping weakly against his brother.

“I’ll— here.” Fiddleford drops the cloth in favor of the roll of bandages he’d retrieved earlier.

He's so reluctant to get close to the twins again that he contemplates just tossing it in the direction of the couch, but eventually he settles for getting just close enough to place it against the arm rest before backing away.

“You can take it from here, right, Stanford? Won’t be much help bandaging with only one hand, so I’m just gonna—“ Fiddleford jabs a finger towards the door behind him, “work on my prosthetic, or somethin’. Try ‘n’ figure out what to do next. I’ll see y'all in the morning, right? Maybe get some rest, if you can.”

All this is said as Fiddleford shakily backs out of the room. Neither of them say a word as Fiddleford exits the break room and slams the door behind him.

Fiddleford reunites with Stanford and meets Stanley after 6 months alone in a post-apocalyptic city in some other dimension.

Chapter 1

If Fiddleford had to describe this world he’s spent the past 6 months in in a single word, he’d probably choose terrible. Other descriptors such as strange, horrible, post-apocalyptic, and dangerous also come to mind. Lately, though, he’s been putting a lot of thought into the word lonely.

There were intelligent species here, once. It’s clear in the almost-familiar design of this destroyed city, in the tattered books written in a language Fiddleford can’t make any sense of, in every little item he comes across. He even has an idea of what they looked like— he’s seen their art, their pictures, their mangled bodies— and Fiddleford has to wonder if Bill understood the cruel irony of sending him to a world that was once inhabited by pig people.

He wonders, sometimes, if he could have found a way to communicate with them, if any of them were left. Would his throat have been able to form the words of their language, or theirs his? Would they have tried to help him? Just being around another living creature that didn’t try to kill him on sight would be pretty nice right now.

Unfortunately, that’s never been what this planet has in store for him, and when he hears something move nearby, he knows it’s a threat.

It must be in the next alleyway, and it’s fairly big— most of the monsters Bill left here are. Fiddleford goes still, staring in the direction of the alleyway and listening for any other sign of movement. It’s quiet for a moment, until Fiddleford hears a loud crash and what sounds like hushed murmuring. So many things have sounded like human voices lately that he doesn’t put any stock into it, just dips into the nearest alleyway in an attempt to escape whatever is making that noise before it even knows he’s here.

It’s an attempt that fails immediately, as he crashes into a pile of shredded metal like an idiot. It slices through the worn fabric of his pants, but as far as he can tell it doesn’t reach skin. It does, however, make a very loud noise, and the not-voices go quiet.

“Son of a gun,” he allows himself to hiss, and he takes off down the alleyway without any further regard to the sound he’s making.

Something steps out in front of him, blocking his way. It’s taller than the previous inhabitants of this planet, but smaller than most of the monsters he’s encountered. It’s built a lot like a person, and not a particularly imposing one at that, so Fiddleford doesn’t slow his roll for a moment. He fishes a knife out of the tattered pocket of his lab coat, and slams his shoulder into the beast.

It cries out, still sounding a heck of a lot like a person as it hits the ground, breaking Fiddleford’s fall. He presses the knife to what should be its throat, and is almost surprised to find smooth, human-looking skin beneath his blade. It’s a familiar shade, even, and Fiddleford can’t help but let his eyes wander further up to its face—

“Stanford?” Fiddleford spits, downright baffled to see his big brown eyes looking up at him.

Stanford opens his mouth to respond, but before he can, Fiddleford is being hauled off of him. Something has grabbed the back of his scarf and pulled it tight, tight enough that Fiddleford gags against the construction, tight enough that he’s reminded of Bill’s hand around him, crushing the breath from his lungs, and suddenly he’s being slammed against the brick wall of the alleyway and crushed between Bill’s uncaring fingers and—

“Stanley!”

That’s Stanford’s voice, he’d recognize it anywhere, but how is he here?

“Who the fuck—“

A voice, closer than Stanford’s, unfamiliar but definitely not Bill. It’s a person that’s holding him, and even if he’s struggling to breathe against the arm pressed to his throat, he can deal with a person.

Fiddleford kicks out, slamming his knee between the legs of his assailant.

“Son of a—!” he shouts, but he lets go of Fiddleford to stumble back.

“Stop! Stanley, this is Fiddleford! He’s the reason we’re here!” Stanford says, inserting himself between the two of them. “Well, he’s the reason I wanted to be here. You’re the reason you’re here and we don’t know how to get back.”

Yep, that insufferable holier-than-thou tone is definitely Stanford.

“I’m the reason you’re here?” Fiddleford chokes, rubbing his throat as he tries to regain his bearings. “It’s your fault I’m here!”

“I know that!” Stanford says, turning to Fiddleford.

Stanford looks about the same as he left him, beyond the dark circles under his eyes. Fiddleford knows the same can’t be said about himself.

“Listen, Fiddleford, I—“

“Save it, Stanford,” Fiddleford snaps, shaking his head as he turns towards the other man in the alleyway. “You must be Stanley?”

When Fiddleford first heard about Stanford’s twin, he imagined a carbon copy of his then-roommate. Stanley is not that. They’re nearly identical in the shapes of their faces, the texture and shade of their hair, the slope and color of their eyes, but the similarities end there. Put simply, Stanley looks like shit, with long, tangled hair, an unshaven face, and dark circles to rival Stanford’s, all wrapped up in a ratty jacket over an even rattier shirt. Even the way he holds himself is worrying, the way he’s hunched in on himself like a coiled spring, turned to the side like he’s keeping something just out of sight, eyes weary, teeth grit.

“Yeah, that’s me,” Stanley grumbles, and he draws himself even tighter. Even in conversation he’s locked on the defensive, and with the brief glimpse of an interaction between him and Stanford, Fiddleford can’t say he blames him.

“Nice ta meet ya, Stanley. I’d offer to shake your hand, but mine seems to be missin’,” Fiddleford greets. “Well, not missin’ exactly, I know where it is, but it ain’t doin’ me much good inside the stomach of some rottin’ monster.”

“Your arm!” Stanford exclaims belatedly.

He grabs for Fiddleford’s shoulder, but Fiddleford quickly smacks his hand away, a shudder running through his body at the phantom sensation of someone grabbing at what remains of his arm. He steps away, eyeing Ford wearily, almost expecting him to try again.

He doesn’t. He brings his hand back, tucking it to his chest for just a moment, hurt in his eyes. After a moment, he clears his throat, straightens up, and tucks his hands behind his back.

“I take it that’s a new development?” Stanley says, watching Fiddleford carefully. The matching scrutinizing gazes of both twins sets Fiddleford even further on edge.

“I would never have allowed such grievous injury to come to him under my care!” Stanford huffs, glaring at Stanley.

Fiddleford barks out a laugh, shaking his head.

“And who’s god-forsaken vanity project brought me here, Stanford?”

“Easy, Fiddlesticks,” Stanley cuts in before Stanford can respond. “None of us are happy to be here, but he—“

Fiddleford raises his hand. “Shut yer yap.”

“Okay, rude—“

“I mean it, don’t ya hear that?” Fiddleford hisses. It’s barely audible, not like Stanford and Stanley’s rustling in a nearby alleyway. Something is moving through the main streets.

“I don’t hear shit, except some hillbilly interrupting me wh—“

“I hear it,” Stanford says, and Stanley throws his arms up in frustration.

Click-click, drag, click-click, click-click. Three functional limbs, one dragging along, moving at a gradual, unhurried pace. The time between each step suggests a step length of perhaps a meter. It’s large, too large for Fiddleford to deal with without his arm, but likely small enough to fit into this alleyway. Stanley seems pretty tough, and Stanford had somehow held his own for 6 years in Gravity Falls despite its many dangers, but he wasn’t about to trust either of them in a fight against whatever unknown beast was approaching.

“It’s coming from—“ Stanford whispers, and despite the low volume, Fiddleford cringes at the sound.

“I know,” Fiddleford snips quietly, “follow me.”

Fiddleford doesn’t bother to check if either of them listened— Stanford reacts well to confidence, and with any luck, Stanley would as well— before he’s slinking out of the alleyway, carefully watching his step this time.

“Come on, dumbass,” Stanley hisses, and Fiddleford spares them a glance. Both have moved to follow, but Stanford is hesitating, looking behind him even as Stanley grabs his arm and pulls him along behind him.

“I just want a look—“ Stanford mumbles, shaking Stanley’s hand off.

“This ain’t Gravity Falls, Stanford, an’ I won’t hesitate to leave you ‘n’ your brother for mincemeat if you don’t hurry yer asses up!”

Stanford immediately turns towards Fiddleford, eyes wide, mouth parted in shock. Fiddleford glares at him, lets him truly believe he means it (Fiddleford knows he wouldn’t leave Stanford or his brother, damn him) before he turns back around and continues on the way. This time, Stanford and Stanley follow without any further prompting, though Fiddleford hears what sounds like an amused snort from Stanley at Stanford’s sudden obedience.

Heres a fun one (or to me at least) how would stcmo!Ford react to other Fandom AU and other Fandom AU Stanleys?

Like for example Relativity (The Stan Twins and The Pine twins role get swapped with each other), Monster Fall, Peace of mind AU by @/stanngeddon (basically that where the mystery trio role got Reversed, Fidds get portaled, Ford runs the shack, and Stanley becomes McGuket in the canon), Never Human (where “Stanley” became an a cosmic horror after making a deal, guarding all the Ford in the multiverse) and Blind Fate

Again, not gonna go super in-depth since I don't know the author's boundaries when it comes to their AU. But I'll still answer as best I can because it's really fun to put Ford 419"3 in other AU's!

Relativity Falls

Initially, Ford would be shocked by the role swap, but he wouldn't linger on the changes because he has a mission to accomplish. It wouldn't be until later that Ford actually wrote his first impression and thoughts on the dimension in one of his journals. All in all, Ford would just be considered an outlier among the vast majority of dimensions and not expend any more energy toward pondering it.

Monster Falls

The first time Ford came across this dimension, Ford accidentally shot Stan thinking he was a hostile anomaly. Stan had already been injured by a nasty fight with a Manticore, a jagged tear across his side from its horns and blood coating his mouth of sharp teeth. Ford's heart froze in his chest when he heard his brother's unmistakable voice layered with an angry roar as the shot hit the anomaly. Safe to say that the Stanford of that dimension wasn't pleased when he heard his brother cry out in pain and anger. Ford had to diffuse the situation before he had his throat ripped out by a very pissed off Stanford, frantically unclipping his helmet while dodging Stanford's attacks. As soon as his face was revealed, Stan called his brother off.

Peace of Mind @stanngeddon

Ford would be heartbroken when he saw what had become of Stan, furious with the Stanford of that dimension for allowing Stan to deteriorate so severely. Ford would do everything in his power to help Stan, but there's only so much Ford can do to heal such a damaged mind. I think the most that Ford could do -without uprooting Stan and bringing him back to his temporary headquarters for some brain scans- would be to make sure Stan was otherwise in good health and stock him up with some supplies. This would be a dimension that Ford would keep an eye on, occasionally popping in to fuss over Stan.

Never Human

In this case, Stanley would probably be the one saving Ford from meeting a premature death at the hands of some hostile creature in the multiverse between missions. Ford would be worried about Stanley making a deal, but it would be a bit of a relief that Stanley was harder to kill as a cosmic entity. Ford would absolutely ask to study Stanley, half curious and half concerned. Basically, Ford would look back on his interaction with a cosmic horror Stanley fondly.

Blind Faith (you said Fate but Blind Faith is what I think you meant)

Honestly, Ford would have nightmares after stumbling across the brothers in such a bad state. Stan would've just been freshly blinded by Stanford, the both of them inconsolable. Ford would address Stan's eyes first, using a salve to soothe the burns and fresh bandages. He'd also give Stan a dose of pain medication mixed with a mild sedative. Then Ford would shift his attention to Stanford, patching him up as well before checking his mental state. Ford would be unaffected by those watching them, protected by his helmet (the interior etched with sigils with unicorn hair embedded in the frame). Ford would end up bringing the brothers through a wormhole with him to get them out of that place, entirely unwilling to leave them there.

With the submission now closed, the time for the Tournament to begin is fast approaching! With that in mind it is time to reveal the AUs in the running:

During the events of not what he seems, Mabel ends up falling into the portal instead of Ford coming through it, and Mabel ends up stuck with Ford in the multiverse. The two of them travel the multiverse and get into many a shenanigan trying to find a way home. In most versions Stan and Dipper also work to bring their twins home

During the events of Weirdmaggedon, Ford accepts Bill's offer to join him and is transformed into a demon. In some versions it is with the intent to betray Bill later while struggling with Demonic Corruption, in others it is genuine.

Reunion falls AU by @sailorleo (Now @hellspawnmotel)

Not long after Mabel and Dipper were born the two were separated, with Dipper being sent to live with Stan and Mabel remaining with their parents. After finding out about her twin years later, Mabel travels to Gravity falls to meet him.

Timestuck AU by @dodofiasco

In which one of the Pines twins (or both, in which case usually they get separated but sometimes they are together) end up stuck 30 years in past due to the time tape and meet the younger version of one (or both) of the Stan twins.The most Popular version of this AU has Mabel travelling with a younger Stan.

Blind Faith au by @gravity-what and @thesnadger

During the events of the Portal incident in the 1980s, Both Stan and Ford fall through the Portal. Due to McGucket being driven mad by what he saw when he entered the portal, Ford fears the same could happen to Stan and thus blindfolds him to prevent him from Seeing whatever lurks in the mysterious and insidious dimension where they have ended up, and the two travel to escape. However, while Ford cannot see fully due to losing his glasses, what little he can see is starting to take its toll. This mounting paranoia and fear eventually reaches a Boling point and leads to Ford attempting to blind Stan to keep him safe from the horrors (In some versions he succeeds, in others he only manages to do so for one eye) Eventually the two manage to leave this dimension and they begin travelling the multiverse.

Monster falls AU by various

The discovery of a magical stream results in the characters of gravity falls being transformed into various monsters. Dipper is turned it a Cervitaur(Deer centaur) Mabel is turned into a Mermaid or a Unicorn centaur, Stan is turned into a gargoyle, Ford is turned into a Greek sphynx, And the list goes on.

Mystery trio AU by various

Based on a popular theory prior to the release of Not what he seems and a tale of tale of two stans. The story of the Mystery trio au has many different variations, but the general premise is that in sometime in the past before the portal incident, Stan and Ford make and the two of them plus Fiddleford work together to help with Ford's research in Gravity falls, getting into all kinds of trouble.

A Familial love take on the Disney movie of the same name, in the Beauty and the Beast au the pines twins end up living in the castle of the Stan twins, who were cursed years ago by bill, with Ford being transformed into a Book and Stan into a beast

During the events of the portal incident, Stan is the one to fall in the portal instead of Ford. Ford then spends the next 30 battling with himself over whether he should risk the universe and try and bring Stan back, Meanwhile Stan travels the multiverse, probably getting banned from numerous dimensions.

An age swap au where the stan twins are twelve years old and staying in gravity falls with their Grauntie Mabel, who is secretly working to bring back her brother.

Due to a long series of events, Dipper gains Bill's powers, becoming known as "Alcor". Meanwhile in an event known as the "Transcendence" gravity falls weirdness spreads to the rest of the world.

After the events of a tale of two stans, Stan ends up being reverted back to a kid through some means or the other.

Some point after a tale of two stans, Stan dies and becomes a ghost, eventually becoming a category 10 ghost.

Stanley pines was stillborn, replaced by a changeling at birth. In some versions Dipper is also a Fae and the story deals with the aftermath of these revelations

During the 18th century, Orphan stowaways Mabel and Dipper find themselves on the mystery, A pirate ship manned by its notorious captain Stanley pines, who is fueled by a desire for revenge against the man who killed his brother.

Arc 5: While finding Rin, DBK heads for Flower Fruit Mountain to consult Wukong unaware of the horrors beyond.

Arc 6: You want a summary? Basically Season 3 Ep 1-2 but with SHIT ton of more lore.

Arc 7: The gang try to find a way to get the Samadhi Fire while Mathias is experiencing some HECTIC side effects from the mask.

Arc 8: The Amnesia episode to the Lantern,to the ritual, basically nearly half of Season 3, were close to Season 4 and nearing my favorite arc that I’ve been planning for a while. So buckle up people.

Arc 9: Looks like Season 3 has ended, what awaits us next folks? Also remember that the next arc is supposed to start with Tang, can’t call it ‘Ghost Tripitaka AU’ when Tang and Tripitaka ain’t there.

It's been years since Frieza's older brother, Cooler, had gone missing, and no one has found a trace of him. The empire simply moved on without him. Recently, though, Frieza has been having this empty feeling in his chest, starting to feel out of place in his own empire for some reason. To hopefully help clear his head, he goes to Earth. (yes, this is important) Does it help? Welll both yes and no. Meanwhile, Champa decides to dump Frost into universe 7, basically making him Beerus' problem. They basically make Frost stay with Frieza, and though the two are against it at first, they get used to it. One night during a storm, neither could sleep and a visted by a mysterious person, later meeting two more. They found out about tessering and Frost becomes good friends with them. Frieza and Frost also make friends with the human Yamcha. Then the trio is set on an adventure through a new world where their ki doesn't work, as they set to help the mysterious ladies, find Cooler, and beat the evil spreading through the multiverse.

Annd that's as much as I can say without spoiling it.

I would have to rewatch the movie to remember it all, but yeah.

so! basic premises for two of the aus i’d like to talk about in more detail some time

anomaly ford - (post-weirdmaggedon) as a result of anomalous rain (came in through the multiverse) ford ends up stuck together with an anomaly. stan and fiddleford go to the folks in the forest for help and manage to successfully get him unstuck! except now he has carried over traits from the anomaly. this au focuses more on stan (and fiddleford, when it applies) helping ford figure out how to exist now than the actual cause of the issue. goal is for ford to be able to start sailing with stan and nothing go too terribly wrong

the only name i have for this second au is ‘gravity what now’ - (researcher ford era..?) mystery trio except everything is terrible and ford’s starting to feel like the universe is targeting him specifically. this au is more so a collection of events that occur within that dimension than a proper storyline (though there is a slight timeline). featuring stan and fiddleford getting along for once and ford screaming in the background

Ooh, that's a great one, thank you for asking. I have a WIP that I love, but I have a feeling is way too niche for anyone but me, so who knows if I'll ever finish it. But here's an excerpt from the intro. (It's, if it's not immediately obvious, a Portal Reader-Mystery Trio AU.) ---------------------

It's him. Of course it's fucking him. This one's much younger than the last, dark-haired and much less confident. His face goes pale and he puts his hands in the air.

"How did you know my name?" His voice quavers.

Before you can answer, the room explodes into motion: a man comes charging at you from the side. Did he think you wouldn't notice? You shoot him and he drops.

"Stanley!!" Two voices cry in unison.

"Oh shut up," you snap. "He's just stunned. Both of you, now, hands up, don't move. Actually--"

You flick a dial with your thumb and shoot both of them while they're standing there gaping.

"I can't move!" Ford exclaims.

"Me neither!"

"Yeah, that's what 'stunned' means. But you can talk, so tell me why the fuck I'm in dimension--what, exactly?"

"Pardon me ma'am, but what the heck is goin' on here?" Asks the third man. He looks familiar... Pines' partner, right. He continues, "Stanford, do you two know each other?"

"Never seen her before in my life," Pines says, bewildered.

That's probably true then. You sigh. "But I've seen you, alright. You're the third paer to make my life more difficult."

Pines blinks. "Pair?"

You frown. "Paer," you repeat slowly. "Your counterparts in other dimensions." Why doesn't he know that word? Everyone in the multiverse knows--Oh, fuck. "Oh fuck. Tell me this isn't an isolate."

"I don't know what that is," Pines whispers, eyes wide.

"Listen," says the partner, "we should all just slow down and start from the beginning. Why don't you come upstairs, and we'll have some coffee and sort this all out--"

You ignore him and stomp right up to Pines' stupid face. "Tell me, Pines, tell me right fucking now, that your dimension is fully connected to the multiverse and you didn't just tear a random hole in spacetime. Tell me."

But you already know it's true. You can't hear or feel a gateway anywhere in the room. Whatever pulled you through has collapsed. You whirl around and see an enormous piece of machinery, burnt and smoking in several places. You punch the button on your wrist and your HUD lights up, not with your coordinates, but with NO CONNECTION.

At least none of your alarms are going off; you should be able to breathe, eat, and drink here.

Which is good, because it looks like you're going to be stuck awhile.

Mishaps in Mystictale

This took too long to write and I’m not 1000% sure I like it, but oh well. I gotta start writing more so here we go!

Hex sighed and he maneuvered through the wooded area of a new AU that had cropped up, attempting to avoid the slime trails that lay numerous upon the ground. The Papyrus-type Guardian had come with to this new AU, called Mystictale, with his best friend (or adopted brother) Rainbow, and Chalk Pastels, Rainy’s cousin. Rainbow was a guardian in training so it was important to learn what to do when new AU’s inevitably cropped up and decided to open their would to others. Rainbow’s Multiverse held quite a few peaceful Aus, while Hex’s were the opposite. Upon hearing what the new AU was like from Lock, the Sans of the AU, made Hex offered to show Rainbow Mystictale. The AU was highly adventurous and wild, yet calm and mor friendly to new people compared to the Aus Hex was used to. As for Chalk… well… while she was younger than Rainy she had a mysterious knack for making friends, which was vital to maintaining support with an AU.

When they entered the au they were supposed to meet Lock and his brother Sage, the Papyrus type, however, things didn’t go as planned. Somehow the coordinates were wrong and instead of appearing in the workshop like they were supposed to the trio first ended up in some sort of ruins, before they were suddenly separated. One of them had triggered a warp trap… and Hex had a sneaking suspicious that Rainy might have unintentionally done so. Rainbow was a happy-go-lucky kind of skeleton (Or so it seemed), however he was also rather clumsy. It was just Rainy’s luck.

The Guardian had ended up in a dense wooded area filled with Skellyslimes as they called themselves. The Skellyslimes reminded Hex of the Medi-slime bitties from a bitty shop he went to a while ago, back when he was a baby bones. He couldn’t remember many details from that time, a side effect of what occurred in the past.

The Skellyslimes had informed Hex that the Rainy and Chalk were already in the forest and that they were ok for the time being. One a bit more so than the other, but that was due to one of them being stuck upside down in a tree. Hex sighed and asked where the one who was in the tree was.

Rainbow was blinking and looking around. For some reason he was hanging upside down in a tree. He didn’t really know how he got there, but it would be a good idea to get down. Rainy reached up to untangle his foot from the branch it was caught in when he noticed some skeleton sticking out of a blobby thing staring at him. “Huh…?”

The Skellyslime grinned at him and waved. “Oh hello there brother! You got your foot stuck. Do you need help?”

Blink…. Many blinks. Rainbow was processing what he was seeing and wondering if it was an illusion of some sort. Seeing that the skeleton was confused made the Skellyslime grin more and settle down on it’s slime body to wait for the other to start flailing wildly or ask for help. Surprisingly to the Skellyslime it was the latter.

“Oh yeah some help would be nice! Thanks.” Rainbow replied grinning at the slime. The Skellyslime nodded and whistled. Many different colored Skellyslimes and slime monsters soon appeared. The normal slimes were sitting under rainy just in case anything went wrong. The Skellyslimes themselves bounced up the tree to aid the first Skellyslime with freeing Rainbow. One of the younger Skellyslimes that was a green color  looked at Rainbow confused. “Brother where’s your slime? You’ll get hurt without it!”

Rainy blinked at the young Skellyslime. “Slime? I don’t have slime… unless you mean my ecto?”

“No slime…? I dunno what ecto is.” The green Skellyslime responded confused only to be patted by another Skellyslime. “Big brother here is a different type of skeletal monster.” She replied, which made the younger one brighten up in relief that Rainy wasn’t in any danger.

The Skellyslimes managed to loosen Rainy’s trapped foot. The Skellyslimes under Rainy were grabbing his hands to try and catch him if he fell. In preparation some of the smiles that were big enough made their slime wrap around the branch. “Ready?” The Skellyslime that was on top of the branch Rainy was trapped in  queried.

The slime monsters all yelled that they were and Rainy chuckled and nodded. “Yup I’m ready.”

Almost instantly the guardian in training fell, only to be grabbed by the surprisingly strong Skellyslimes.

“It would be easier if we could let you fall to the Slimes below… it’s also pretty fun!” The young blue Skellyslime chittered leaping off of the branch and to the ground below.

“I don’t think that’s necessary.” came Hex’s voice from below. Rainbow could feel his soul turn blueand being lowered to the ground gently.

“Aww… Hex I wouldn’t have minded having the slimes catch me.” Rainy replied pouting a little.

“I know Rainy, but your pops and “Mama” would have my head if I let anything happen to you… or Chalk… which of whom I haven’t seen yet.” And which was making Hex worried.

“Oh the rainbow girl? She’s with our king!” The blue Skellyslime states moving off into the undergrowth He still was speaking to Hex and Rainy. “Follow me I know the quickest way to the king!”

Hex shook his head and chuckled before looking at Rainy. “Normally first meeting aren’t this chaotic, but then again… my multiverse can be rather chaotic.”

Rainy chuckles before replying teasing Hex. “No wonder you’re so busy.”

Hex rolls his eye lights before following the Skellyslimes to a rather steep hill. Hex blinked owlishly as the Skellyslimes handed him what looked like a rug. “What’s this for?”

“For sliding down the hill!”

Hex paled as he stared dow the steep “hill” then looked at Rainy who seemed intrigued by the whole thing. In fact there were stars in the young Guardian in training’s eye sockets. “I think I might just teleport down.” Hex sighed, knowing he wouldn’t get help from Rainy once the other has stars in his eyes like he now did.

Rainy frowns at Hex. “Aww come on He-” Rainy has walked over to Hex, going to explain how fun it’s going to be till the boy tripped over his own feet and collided with Hex, who in turn along with Rainy was launched forward onto the rug. The duo now found themselves rapidly sliding down the hill. Rainy clung desperately to Hex as the maroon clad skeleton started screaming, clinging to the rug just as desperately as Rainy was clinging to him. “NYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! RAAAAIIINNNYYYYY WHYYYYYYYYY???????”

“IIII’MMM SORRRYYYYYYY!”

The duo seemed to be going faster and faster down the hill. There were a few Skellyslimes sliding down the hill with the duo, but there was nothing they could do to help really. Some attempted to slow the duo down with sticky slime, but thanks to the coating on the rug it was no use. Others grabbed the duo’s feet and tried to slow the duo down that way, but the poor Skellyslimes couldn’t hold on for long before they went tumbling away. Seeing their attempts fail, some of the Skellysmiles zoomed right past the others and stopped near a huge Skellyslime.

Hex couldn’t hear what was being said, but the large slime turned it’s hear from someone it was speaking with. The multicolored being grinned and sent out a tendril of it’s slime and wrapped it around the rapidly approaching duo, gently lifting them up and effectively stopping them from crashing into a wall or something similar. The tendril receded while also lowering the duo to the ground.

Hex had a death grip on the rug as Rainy still had a death grip on Hex. The duo were unaware that someone was approaching them until a hand reached out and shook Hex’s arm. Hex blinked in confusion before looking at a Sans.

“you ok there buddies?” He asked looking at them with concern in his eye lights. “you’re uh… not supposed to ride down the hill like that.”

Hex stared blankly at the Sans. “I’ll keep that in mind for the next time.” He replied shakily shaking his head to clear his head. Hex looked at the Sans again. From the reports this appeared to be Lock.

“name’s lock.” Lock replied as if reading Hex’s thoughts before turning to the giant Skellyslime. “and this is wiggles, the king of the skellyslimes. yer friend chalk has already met him. sorry about the warp trap. bro forgot to disable it before you came.”

“Ah… well as long as no one was hurt then it’s fine, but I might need to warn others just incase they want to visit.” Hex mused before looking around for Chalk. “So Chalk is safe?”

In reply to Hex’s question a ball of slime flew through the air and beamed Rainy in the head. “Crap I missed… sorry cuz!” Came Chalks voice and she was seen jumping on Wiggles and laughing. At least she seemed cheerful. Hex sighed as he felt Rainbow flinch from the slime, but it seemed to have woken him up.

The guardian-in-training wiped the slime off of his skull and messed with it. “It’s kinda gooey feeling, but it’s also warm and cold at the same time…?” Rainy mumbled not fully focused on the slime and little else.

Hex blinked at Rainbow and sighed. “Rainy…?”

The Skeleton was still focused on the slime, causing the other to shake his head and begin speaking with the Sans of MysticTale.

Chalk in the meantime was speaking with Wiggles. “Ah so they’re your cousins…?” The king Skellyslime chuckled holding the girl in his hands. Chalk nodded in reply.

“Yeah those two are guardians of the multiverse… you know if you ever wanted to come visit another part of the multiverse I’m pretty sure I can twist Uncle Mage’s arm to let you visit. My dad will want to thank you for helping me out.” Chalk states cheerfully.

Wiggles chuckles and lowers the Dust/Ink child towards his body. “I feel bad about swallowing you heal you there. You were pretty freaked out.”

“Don’t worry about it Wiggles. It’s better that you kept me calm than for me to go out on a rampage… even if that human was aiming to hurt that little negislime.”

Wiggles chuckled. “Well even so I apologize for scaring you at first, but I have to thank you for saving my cousin’s kiddo and getting rid of a problematic human. You did my job for me really.”

“Yeaaaah do me a favor and don’t brink that up around Hex… er… the tall skeleton… I’d rather avoid a lecture if I can.”

Wiggles chuckled and nodded, he could do that for the girl.

Eventually Rainy stopped playing with the slime and attempted to focus on what Hex was doing, but once he fully noticed Wiggles the skeleton lost track of everything once again.

“HE’S SO BIG!!!” Rainy exclaimed gently poking Wiggles’ slime body.

Chalk was laying on top of Wiggles and chuckles at Rainy. “Course he is… he’s a King Skellyslime. Apparently this world is more lie an RPG type of world… and that’s what Wiggles here is classified as… a king Skellyslime.”

“I’m just big… I don’t have much power.” Wiggles explains as Hex comes back over to the others. He had been working with Lock on the specifics on opening their AU to the rest of the Multiverse.

“I think were just about done here.” Hex states tiredly. “I can’t wait to relax at home…” The taller skeleton griped as wiggles picked up Hex and settled the guardian on his slime.

Hex almost instantly relaxed. “Oh… uh thank you.”

Wiggles chuckled and does the same to Rainy. “Don’t mention it. Let me help you guys out for a bit before you go.” The trio was healed of their aches and fatigue before they were allowed to finally leave.

His trait was determination, but all of it went inside his body to keep him alive when his AU was being destroyed. So now he doesn't have a trait, leaving his soul with a pure white color.

Frisk used to live in a zombie apocalyptic AU were LV consuming beasts, called Loved Ones, would try to infect as many creatures as they could and grind as many HP as possible.

After Frisk's AU was destroyed he was dumped in one of the Gardens.

He didn't understand how he could have survived the horrors he had just witnessed and he couldn't bear to live in a room that was determined to trap him inside with the images of his dying family still lingering in his mind.

He reached for two buttercups, which he knew were poisonous, and ate them.

But instead of abandoning life, he had created life.

Their names were Faye and Faas.

And so the F trio I love so much was born!!!

Frisk has become a very planning obcessed person since he got to live with Faye and Faas he has a very personal Bullet Journal (don't dare call it a planner in front of him!).

Faye sometimes draws a cover for it for the beggining of each month.

Because Frisk is the only survivor of his AU he is the user that has the last L.U.C.K. device (aka LOVE Universal Converter Kit), which used to be used for self-defense in his own AU, but has now become a very dangerous object in very dangerous hands (Nightmare's hands to be exact...).

Frisk used to be very rude and only care about his old family, but now I think he's finally understanding that life gave him a second chance and that's what he has to focus on right now.

He likes to collect rare flowers when they travel through different Gardens. (More on that later...). Frisk also used to aware a lot in his AU, but now he tries to watch his language ever since he met Faye.

He has a crush on Faye btw (They're my OTP...), but he's in the friendzone.

Back to the trio, when Frisk ate the flowers what actually happened is that they created two new beings to share his soul with, completely at random.

No one has a part of the soul in particular.

Because of this only one of them can take control of their physical form at once.

Sometimes there could be a arm of one of them showing and the other one controlling the other parts of the body. What I mean by this is just that they cannot exist fully, the three at the same time.

For some reason, the garden is the only exception to this rule. And the 3 phisical forms appear at the same time.

The trio doesn't age.

They don't have a trait since the original soul (Frisk's soul) didn't have one.

Whenever a Sans passes by she instantly blushes and thinks she has found the love of her life.

I won't be the one to stop if you want to call her a Sans Fangirl, but... She's just so much more than that.

Faye is also a really innocent person.

She is immensely shy with new people (everyone that isn't Frisk or Faas really...) and because of this every time a Sans goes by it actually looks like Frisk and Faas are blushing since the face swaps are happening so fast you can't even see it.

Since she's the one carrying the strongest emotion she should be the one assuming control, but Faye fights it, and manages to give that effect.

(This is awesome for Ink, because he seems to never get tired of pranking the three by flirting with Faye.)

Despite her shy nature, she's extremely extroverted, bubbly and energetic with Frisk and Faas. She can even become a little annoying sometimes.

She promised Frisk to never delete an AU even if she doesn't like it.

Yeah... The flowers in the Garden can eat you in your sleep... Faye woke up with one of them glued to her back, but she actually likes her a lot.

Faas is a mystery. No one knows what species he is (he claims he's not monster) and no one knows how old he is.

Don't worry though, behind all of that there is actually some ancient wise advice.

What we know for sure is that he acts like an absolutely egocentric jerk.

I made this character because at times my writing becomes very sarcastic and salty. That way I can dump all of it in here (95% here and 5% on Melissa if you read the other wiki).

Faas barely moves at all.

He floats lazily in the air and only uses his fire powers he has on his tail to slightly readjust his position in the air.

He is always hungry and asking for food and when he does get it, he's so fast you can't see him moving.

The only evidence you have is now a clean plate and possibly an empty storage where you keep all your food.

He has the record in the Multiverse for being banned from most Grillby's and its variations across AUs.

He has fire powers, however aren't very powerful however so he can't fight with them, or...

So he says. It's more likely he has never tried.

Faas has tried to escape the soul several times, but he always fails.

He says he wants to see the world, but feels trapped inside the soul the universe chose for him.

Faas doesn't trust Frisk and is always in the look out for him, to see if he doesn't hurt Faye (no matter how much he says he doesn't care).

You’ve heard of AUs where Fiddleford went through the portal, and you’ve heard of AUs where Stanley goes through the portal, now get ready for both!

Fic idea: AU where Dipper and Mabel fall through the Bottomless Pit sometime around late season 1/early season 2, and instead of making it back out twenty minutes later, they instead get stuck in some strange and unfamiliar dimension, and end up getting help from a bunch of different Portal Fords and Stans from across the multiverse as they try to find their way back home.

It’s not just an AU, but a multi-AU crossover. I imagine them first running into a fairly young Ford and a Stan that fell through together in 1982, and were able to defeat their Bill but haven’t been able to get back to their dimension yet. (I generally headcanon that there’s multiple Bills in the multiverse, though there are less Bills than Fords, meaning some dimensions share a Bill.) This Stan and Ford duo is who explains most of the details to the younger twins, and look after them for a week or so, but eventually pass the kids on to a different Stan or Ford who they think is more likely to find their way to the original dimension the kids came from.

Over the span of a month or so, Dipper and Mabel run into all sorts of versions of the elder twins - maybe even a portal Fidds or two, or the entire Mystery Trio. There’s a Reverse Portal Stan who fell through in 1982, of course, as well as a Stan who fell through in NWHS and met up with Ford then like @sightkeeper‘s Grifting Stars AU, or even Six-Sights from A Thousand Natural Shocks by @dubsdeedubs. They could encounter a Ford who’s much like canon Ford, except still in his thirties because their timelines aren’t synced up... the possibilities are endless! (And that’s not even accounting for potential crossovers!)

TL;DR: A family can be two twelve year olds and their 200 grunkles from scattered dimensions across the multiverse.

Unfortunately, I don’t think I have time to actually write this - I would if I could. If anyone wants to do something with this concept, you have my full encouragement! (Though credit would be appreciated, of course.)

Doesn’t even have to be all members, can be one or even two. Just imagine the interactions between the characters tho.

-HTTYD crossover: Come on! All those easter eggs? They can travel back in time and meet some dragons and their riders. Imagine Gobber realizing trolls are real and then instantly demanding for his missing socks. omg.

-Ben 10 crossover: Have fun with this idea(I am referring to og Ben10-Ultimate Alien)

-Twin Au: In which Jim[or someone else if you like] has a missing twin brother/sister who comes to Arcadia for whatever purpose you decide. They may even have special powers. Or Au where Jim has a twin or sibling. Imagine Jim’s twin being kidnapped so many times because he gets mistaken for the Trollhunter.

-Troll!Jim: quite a common idea but not present enough, could go in many directions. From being born a troll, from turning into a troll via magic, potions, puberty, whichever. 

-Split in two: where Jim somehow gets split in two(No not literally! I ain’t THAT dark!) kinda like when he cloned himself. But it’s good Jim and bad Jim. Good Jim has the daylight armor and bad Jim the eclipse one. Could go in any direction. (I thought of this when thinking of the Kung Fu Panda episode,”Good Po, Bad Po”)

-College: In which we fast forward to the future(best placed before the s2 finale) where the kids of Arcadia(quiznak I almost called it Arcadia Bay) Oaks are in college now. I imagine the Reckless Club being a super bonded group(up to you if they all know of Jim and the other’s secrets or just the Creepslayerz) who hang out and have all types of misadventures. This is where Steli has its time to fully shine! Same for Jlaire.

-Into the Multiverse!: In which our heroes are separated and placed in different worlds(whether it be alternate versions of their own or other shows) and must find their way back.

-Potato Rain: It has mysteriously begun to rain potatoes. Why?

-Roleswap: Common, usually the idea of the amulet choosing another human or the kids being trolls and the trolls being kids or our heroes being villains and the villains being heroes...yeah you get it.

-Sick Au: In which Jim is constantly sick and finds the amulet that changes his life.

-Monster/Hybrid Au: In which our heroes are different types of monsters or animal hybrids or whichever. Kinda like the Gravity Falls Monster Au(this is where you see that I am really quite assorted when it comes to fandoms)

-Pure Insanity: In which Jim, or any others, somehow lose their quiznaking minds. Amusing things can happen or very very dark things can happen. Depends on how you do it.

-Teensy Weeny Little Fleshy Kiddies: In which the amulet chooses Jim, but he is much younger. Or where they get turned into kids. Could be all the teens being kids or just Jim and Toby is his babysitter, whichever way your mind leads you!

-Halfway Bratz Pixiez crossover: The Bratz don’t have to be present, but I keep thinking of how the pixiez hypnotize people with music(Look up Bratz Just Let Go Now) and the many things that could happen should any of our heroes become enchanted by their sweet tunes(forget I said sweet tunes). Imagine Claire and Toby following a-recently-odd-acting Jim into the woods to find out he’s been partying with pixiez(or faeries) who came right out of Hot Topic.

-APOCALYPSE: In which Arcadia and the rest of the world is a horrible wasteland with all types of adventures and perils.

-Band au: In which our heroes are in a band. They can compete against other bands(i.e. Trollhunters vs. Creepslayerz), be one giant band(Reckless Club) or whichever way your imagination leads! They can be famous or just school level, they can still have powers and fantasy or have regular lives with the trolls being humans or be a band that entertains both humans and creatures of myth.

Every Rose has its Thorns 8 CHILDHOOD STUDENT A deadly pandemic has swept the city of Portland, Maine. Alfendi has lost their mother to the Rosalia virus, and they're now fighting the same virus in Resurgam hospital. Now that their mother has passed, Alfendi is now in a state of limbo; once they recover from Rosalia, they will surely be picked up by CPS and taken into foster care.

It Takes A Village 8-12 CHILDHOOD STUDENT Young Alfendi is a lot like older Alfendi, but a lot… more so. Fendi is very, very eager to please people and be quiet, kind, friendly, and helpful, while Al is violent, isn’t very good with his anger management, gets into trouble often, and has a tendancy to drive people away. These two are a handful, but they’re doing their best after everything they’ve been through. They live now with their adoptive father, Hershel Layton, and their sisters, Katrielle Layton and Flora Reinhold-Layton.

A Teenager with Teenage Problems 13-17 TEENAGEHOOD STUDENT Alfendi's life hasn't been easy so far, but now, he's finally in a good place, with a loving, supportive family. Al is still violent and destructive at times, lashing out at people, but with support from his school, family, and therapy, he's getting better. Fendi struggles with socializing and making friends, and Al's reputation isn't helpful, but he's making progress, too.

Too Soon the World Came Crashing Down 18-22 College years Student It’s an young adult Alfendi, aged 18 - 22. Al and Fendi are struggling with the disappearance of their father, the juggling of college, a minimum wage job, the care of a child, and house work. They’re very tired and very stressed, but they’re doing their best to stay afloat despite the hardship.

A Foreboding Fate 23-24 Pre-Forbodium Inspector Alfendi Layton: renowned homicide inspector within Scotland Yard. He's currently on a task force working to catch the Jigsaw Killer, and when off the clock, looking into the case of his missing father. He's just moved into his father's old flat, but he's still a primary caregiver for his little sister.

The Path Less Travelled 29 CURRENT INSPECTOR

This verse is an imagining of what might've happened if Lisa hadn't died, and thus, things turned out slightly differently. Instead of adopting Alfendi after his mother's death, Hershel Layton bonds with Fendi, meets Al, and uncovers the truth behind his and Lisa's relationship. With some strings pulled, Hershel was able to foster Alfendi.

Nowadays, Alfendi Cunningham is the sole inspector of the Scotland Yard's Mystery Room. Al is a well-liked character at the Yard, acting much like a big brother to those he's familiar with. He teases, but it's all in good fun. Fendi, in juxtaposition to Al, is reclusive, standoffish, and quiet, and tends to be the character that others avoid, which is perfectly fine by him. He'd rather do his work quietly and go home than socialize.

Since the hospital, Alfendi has had a few interactions with his mother: Her trial, where he stood as a witness at the age of nine, and a meeting with her at her prision at the age of sixteen, which didn't go well. Since then, Alfendi has been no-contact with his mother.

Ten Thousand Little Voices 29 CURRENT INSPECTOR AND UNWILLING SPIRIT MEDIUM

Alfendi Layton has a secret: he can hear, and sometimes see, the dead. While this is an amazing power, if someone asked him about it, he would say that he'd rather live without it. While it can be helpful at times, if he happens to overhear the voice of his case's victim declaring the name of their murderer and such, most of the time it causes him more harm than good. If he helps one spirit with their unresolved business, the rest will come flocking to him, asking for help, and as one man with two identities, he simply can't help every single ghost. He is forced to ignore the spirits, pretending he can't hear or see them, and this tears him apart inside.

Because of his ability and the fact that he can't shut it off, Alfendi suffers from frequent migranes, fatigue, and irritability late in the day.

Nobody Suspects A Thing 6 PRE-ROSALIA NONE

One day, little Alfendi finds an octopus man on the shores of Portland, Maine. What he didn't expect was that this octopus man would rescue him from his terrible home life and take him in as his own.

Since then, they've become a tight-knit trio, bonding over the fact that they're hiding a 16-foot-tall octopus man in Alfendi's house without his mother knowing. This lasts two years, before the Rosalia Virus pandemic strikes the city, and Lisa leaves Alfendi at home while she rushes to the hospital after developing symptoms. A few days later, Alfendi begins developing symptoms of his own, and in an act of brute strength and willpower, Kraken manages to singlehandedly carry Alfendi across the city to the hospital. There, they meet one Hershel Layton, and their lives were changed forever.

Alfendi Cunningham, age 8, has come down with the Rosalia Virus. Fortunately for him, he's under the care of a top doctor, one Dr. Karsten Lorimer. Five years later, Alfendi and his mother contracted the Rosalia virus, and Karsten, who had been flown in from overseas to help lighten the load of the hospitals, began tending to Alfendi, who is among many who are bedridden.

(Ex: If Alfendi interacts with a Flora, then interacts later with a different Flora, he's aware that these two Floras are different people and still remembers the prior interaction with the first Flora.)

The Truth Lies in the Evidence 29 CURRENT DETECTIVE

After the events of Forbodium, Alfendi Layton moved to Los Angeles, California for a change of scenery and people to help move on from the past. It seems that the legends of Professor Layton have travelled all the way to America, as Alfendi is hired by the LAPD as a homicide detective despite his besmirched record. Alfendi now works closely with the prosecutor's office to find and punish criminals, but it can be difficult with all this false evidence being thrown around, not to mention these damn defense attornies thinking they can just wander on the scene and take whatever evidence they please. The legal system here needs work.

A Ghost of the Person I Used to Be 29 CURRENT DECEASED

The events at Forbodium four years later took a different turn. When Justin arrived at the scene, Diane already had her gun pressed against Alfendi's head. Diane, knowing she was about to die but determined to exact her revenge on the man she believed to have killed her father, shot first, killing Alfendi before she took a bullet from Justin's gun, and Justin Lawson changed the scene of the crime to set Lucy up to take the fall for the murder of Diane Makepeace with the motive of revenge killing. Under typical circumstances, this is where the story of Alfendi Layton would have ended.

These circumstances, however, are far from typical. It so happens that on the night he died, Keelan Makepeace had been wearing a very special locket, one with a shard of a very special meteorite kept in it.This meteorite, the Temsik Meteorite, grants special powers known as 'ghost tricks' to the spirits of those who die in its presence. This necklace was given to Diane Makepeace among the rest of her father's belongings, and having recognized it as her father's favorite necklace, she wore it non-stop for four straight years. In the tower, that day Alfendi and Diane died, she had been wearing it, just like every other day.

Alfendi and Diane found themselves in the strange predicament of being dead but not as dead as they imagined they would be, wielding paranormal powers. The two of them hitched a ride out of Forbodium on the belongings of the crime scene investigators. Diane, having exacted her revenge on Alfendi and realizing that her father may still be roaming the earth, parts ways with Alfendi after reaching the city, and Alfendi lets her go, seeing as she no longer has any murderous intent and that he no longer has any sort of way to punish her. Now, Alfendi mostly spends his days silently watching over his sisters, lurking at crime scenes and using ghost tricks to bring attention to evidence, and wandering aimlessly across London.

Officer Jenny is a Stereotype 29 CURRENT INSPECTOR

In the Pokémon universe, Alfendi Layton is an inspector with the police in Windon, Galar. With his two trusty Lycanrocs, a midday form called Sola and a midnight form named Fang, Alfendi works hard to catch criminals.

Alfendi was raised in Unova with his father, a doctor at a Castelia city Pokémon center, but a terrible accident took his life, forcing Alfendi to live his his abusive mother. A few years later, an outbreak of a deadly disease killed her, and Hershel Layton, a Pokémon professor from Galar who had been helping to find a cure for the disease, took in Alfendi as his own.

While Hershel was studying different forms of Pokémon, he caught three Rockruff puppies and raised them in his home. Al and Fendi bonded with the puppies, and when Alfendi started his own Pokémon journey, Hershel gifted two of the pups to him as his starters (the third, the dusk form, was still being studied).

Alfendi gathered six badges, but his journey was cut short. He needed to return home suddenly to take care of his little sister, Katrielle, because Hershel suddenly vanished. Instead of continuing his gym challenge, he took up a job working as an officer to help support his family, and over time, rose the ranks to Inspector.

Alright. Full disclosure. This is a really good fic. But … I’ve never understood the whole - ‘it makes Bill Cipher into a redeemable character’ thing. Bill feels well rounded and it gives Bill Cipher good motivations for the show. But … he’s still actually a rather genuinely rude person who does bad stuff with only slightly more understood reasons. If anything it just pulls him from psychopath to misguided. I don’t feel sorry for him, I’m just six times more interested in him as a character.
