Cellbit who holds his shit together, pieces together the clues, and solves the issue while walking on a tightrope, where if he cannot correct for the mistakes made, the fallout would be catastrophic. He cannot fail to solve the case, he cannot fail to cure his friends, it isn’t an option in how desperate the situation has gotten.
He’s relied upon by everyone as the leader of the order, shoulders heavy with the burden. He is intense when he needs to be, gentle when a soft touch is required, and keeps his head when the situation is so intense the others are speechless.
He gets through Forevers stubbornness, reassures Pac in his sorrow and indecisiveness. It’s a fucked up scene and he handles it well because he has no other choice.
He doesn’t cry until it’s all over. Just for a second, when the moment is over, and he can take a breath of air. And even then he leads the rest of them through clean up. He makes sure Pac gets home, gets Forever to a proper place to rest, ensures the rest of the group is okay after what they just witnessed.
Then the moment he leaves the others, he finds another critical clue that he can’t just ignore or put to the back burner.
Another mystery, another crisis, another billion clues he’ll have to organize and follow up on and solve, because he’s the investigation guy, the leader of the order, and the island is counting on him. The kids are counting on him. He doesn’t get a chance to truly breathe. To fully sit down and let himself crumble, let someone, anyone, else be the strong foundation, because if he can’t solve this, who will?
Even with his family returning to him, it’s no wonder he feels so alone. Out of the frying pan and into the fire, I guess.

okay but imagine if shadowhunters had had filler episodes. just them doing dumb nonsense that didn't have any effect on the plot. bonding.
clary learns about the nephilim education system and she doesn't know whether to be horrified or amazed cause on the one hand they're giving knives to four year olds, on the other hand, izzy is a fully certified forensic pathologist at 19.
simon spends an entire episode dragging raphael around new york tryna find him a replacement jacket because even though the kidnapping situation was very fucked up he feels really bad!!! the episode ends with them picking out a really amazing jacket and then raphael having to pay for it because with all the supernatural crap happening, simon honestly forgot that he's a broke college student.
jace and alec episode with them on their day off just chilling (izzy and clary following them because clary Does Not Understand Parabatai and izzy thinks this will help. somehow.) they go to the library and spend some time curled up together reading. they get coffee and go to the park. jace screams at some ducks while alec provides moral support. they go for a movie. they walk around the city holding hands. they go back to the institute to spar a little and then head off to bed. clary through the episode keeps asking "are they dating? are they not? seems like they are?" but izzy keeps denying the dating allegations. clary then finds someone in the institute that can actually explain parabatai with actual words and she barges into izzy's room in the middle of the night screaming "YOU COULD HAVE JUST TOLD ME THEY'RE SOULMATES ISABELLE!"
there's an episode that is literally just. magnus' cats. nothing else. magnus provides narration like this is a nature documentary.
malec's second date, where they just sit on the couch and watch tv and trashtalk the characters. the entire episode is edited to look exactly like a youtuber-reviewing-a-tv-show thing. the first time time an action scene comes up, alec gets so mad at how unrealistic it is and magnus gives him a detailed explanation of how and why movie fighting is so different from real life fighting and why they're choreographed that way. the episode is an hour and a half because magnus and alec keep getting sidetracked and start talking about random stuff. it ends with them falling asleep together on the couch.
a magnus & catarina & ragnor episode with them just hanging out. cat and ragnor keep making fun of magnus for being so in love but he keeps agreeing with them with a lovestruck expression and that takes the fun out of it. the episode is a clipshow style thing except it's not clips of stuff we've already seen, it's their adventures (including, obviously, peru.)
a jimon episode where simon sits jace down and explains in detail the entire plot of star wars. all the star wars. jace asks so many questions and they get so sidetracked at times but simon powers through. at the end, jace reveals that he actually has watched star wars and he knew everything simon was saying but let him go on and on for hours because he wanted to see whether simon would figure it out and also cause jace likes spending time with him.
a clizzy episode where izzy jokingly asks clary to paint her and clary gets so excited!!!! so izzy goes along with it. clary keeps talking like she's doing a tutorial on painting except izzy can't see what she's doing. through the episode, izzy keeps doing more and more ridiculous poses and clary paints and sketches them and somehow they turn out actually good?
i have more ideas but like. idk about you guys but i'd have watched the hell out of this stuff.

ok so i'm a newer Star Trek fan and i've just been watching TNG (since that's the one i'm the most attached to + my dad really likes that one as well) and haven't watched much of TOS yet. but i am really interested in TOS and plan on watching it when i finish TNG, so for starters i thought i'd check out the main opening to the original series and oh my fucking god???? it sounds like a silly family sitcom and i'm just????? i LOVE it????????? but i wasn't expecting it at ALL because i'm so used to hearing the bold adventurous grand composition of TNG's opening, so when i got past the "space, the final frontier" bit only to have silly goofy sitcom music start blasting i just got struck with so much tonal whiplash that i actually thought i was listening to a spoof version at first. but then it set in and i was like "oh my god wait this is real this is what the opening actually fucking sounds like. holy shit. i love it so much" and i gotta ask: is the rest of TOS like this? just like a silly 60s space sitcom with spirk yaoi? because if it is then holy cow holy smokes i need to watch all of it immediately

OFMD S2 MUSIC SEARCH: CLASSICAL & INSTRUMENTAL
As part of my quest to identify all of the music used in season 2 of Our Flag Means Death, I'm trying to identify these tracks. I think it's likely they are classical recordings, not original music created for the show. If you recognize any of the below, please reply with the composer and title, and I'll add it to my season 2 playlist. Thanks, everyone! NOTE: I wasn't able to remove all background sounds and dialogue because there isn't a separate music track in the source files. I muted as much of it as possible.

Army of Shadows is one of my favorite movies of all time (like, top five, absolutely S tier) and the iconic score is part of that
this theme! the power of the sparse orchestration, just strings and piano. the noirish chromatic line that is so simple but so effective. On the second pass you get the full F minor harmony and it turns into what you might call a "line cliché," with a descending root, echoes of a dark parody of "Blue Skies." and then that dissonance, that dread in the final part!!!! my god it's just *chefkiss*
as an exercise I attempted a rough transcription not including the outro and I think I got close!

Turning to the Internet to help solve a mystery! We found a mouthpiece in our alumni band storage unit that no one can identify, including a number of music teachers. It doesn’t quite seem to fit my mellophone, and it’s way bigger than the average French horn or trumpet mouthpiece, but seems too small for a baritone, trombone, or sousaphone. Any ideas?

Quote
In order merely to preserve our existence we have to strain mind and body to the utmost: nay more, we have to think of the surrounding world exclusively with a view to gaining a livelihood from it. There is no time to think about truth! This is why positivism was invented, with its theory of natural development. Really, everything we see is mysterious and incomprehensible.
