First, let's talk about the bouquet of rainflower, green carnation, camelia, nightshade, mulberry and purple lilac

Meaning and why they were chosen: Rainflower- meaning: I must atone for my sins/I love you back. Reason- He tore the entire universe apart and put it back together wrong. Permanently warping and altering reality itself, this of course being a pretty big sin. But he did it in order to save the man he loved, a man he still wholeheartedly loves and adores, yet can no longer even interact with. Serving as a living reminder of the choice he made. Green Carnation- meaning: love between two men. Reason- He is BIG gay. His love for another man re-wrote the whole universe. Camellia- meaning: Unpretending excellence. Reason- This character is a literal genius. An expert in mechanical and biological science, he is objectively too smart and much too qualified to be employed where he is. He is the first- and only- person to have ever performed true necromancy. Nightshade- meaning: Silence or falsehood. Reason- He avoids and even outright lies to the people around him. Especially the love of his life. This is because the knowledge of his actions is enough to physically unmake a person. Mulberry- meaning: I will not survive you. Reason- He lost the man that he loved. And rather than learn to grieve and cope with the loss, learning to survive without the man he loved, he instead decided to alter the fabric of all reality just to revive his love. Purple Lilac- meaning: first love. Reason- He fell in love with hsi best friend since childhood. Every choice he has ever made has been for this boy. Even the choices this character Description: He is an extremely intelligent man. Skilled in both engineering and medical science. He quite literally discovered a way to tear the universe apart and rebuild it- warping and damaging it irreversibly in the process- just to save the man he loved. He then proceeded to constantly ignore and avoid the man he saved, as he couldn’t bring himself to look his greatest sin in the eyes. He was raised Catholic and I’m 85% sure his mother is a serial killer. He loves video games, and is an absolute fucking DWEEB. He is the ultimate failgirl. He is not a good person, he trapped the man he loved in a veritable purgatory- where is is technically neither living nor dead. He IS trying, just maybe not hard enough.

Now, let's talk about the Red Anemone

Meaning and why this flower was chosen: I think its deliciously ironic as this flower represents luck, and greatly resembles the flower they went to pick for their sister! Before falling of a cliff in the attempt. but instead of dying his brain was transferred into the body of a super panther (hard to explain) and later joined there sister in fighting evil Nazi's! Which also fits very well, as Anemone's other meaning is a protector against evil. Description: A defender against evil, this flower is a bit ironic with how unlucky this poor guys life has been. A real softy with a bit of a bite, he fights evil science experiments in the dead of night with the rest of his family.

My answers for School for Good and Evil Q&A <3 MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

~ 1 ~ How did you discover the series/when did you read it for the first time?

I discover the first book in my library in middle school (in Poland it means I was like fourteen-fifteen years old) and I really liked the picture and the art of the two castles. I know you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover but in this case it lead me to a really wonderful story.

~ 2 ~ Which book is your favourite and why?

A couple of days ago I made a post where I rank them so I’m just gonna say it’s The Last Ever After and the “why” is already answered <3 

~ 3 ~ Which book is your least favourite and why?

Unfortunately, it’s The One True King. I think it’s the fault of my own expectations.

~ 4 ~ Who is your favourite character?

Sophie of Woods Beyond :D I think it’s funny because in real life she’s the epitome of everything I despise in people - like vanity, jealousy, malicioussness and all that. But it’s just something about her that made her irresistible in the books, I love her parts, she always put a smile on my face and the series would be nothing without her (my opinion!)

~ 5 ~ Who is your least favourite character?

It’s hard to say - I don’t have a character I would really want out of the series, because everyone is important in his own way, but I guess it could be Japeth, because he’s a piece of shit and killed many of great characters, The Rulers of The Kingdoms (most of them), because they disappointed me in how easy they were to manipulate and Aric, because reasons.

~ 6 ~ What is your favourite and least favourite ship?

Oh no, I have to admit something bad. My favourite ship is Rafal/Sophie XD I know it’s toxic, I really do. And I don’t think Rafal should win, because my heart would be broken if something happens to Aggie. Just Sophie and Rafal have such a dramatic, messy vibe. The School Master and the Queen of Evil, like honestly (but I preferred him when he was a mysterious sorcerer and not a grumpy teenage boy). My least favourite ship will be Hophie and it’s not like I have something against it, I just didn’t like how it was made in the last book. And Jaric. Because I don’t like them both so why should I like them together?

~ 7 ~ Are you a Never or an Ever?

I got the test on Soman’s site and it said I’m an Ever <3 And I agree. I don’t think I’m a good material for princess and stuff, but I’d like to be a good human being and learn how to be an everyday hero. (like, honestly, I’m studying nursing)

~ 8 ~ Which lesson in your School would be your favourite and which you’d probably hate?

When it comes to first year, I think my favourite would be History and Good Deeds, and least favourite Beautification, because my style is something between grunge and punk and I don’t think Emma Anemone would approve ;) 

~ 9 ~ Who is your favourite teacher?

August Sader, he fascinates me with his wisdom and mysterious attitude.

~ 10 ~ What is your favourite fairytale?

Merida The Brave and Moana, and when it comes to more traditional ones I think Red Riding Hood and maybe Cinderella.

~ 11 ~ Which character you’re most identifying with?

Oh my, it’s a hard question to answer, but I guess I kinda identify with late Beatrix. Like, not the pinkish princess from book one and not the bald ultra fighter from book two but the Beatrix from The Camelot Years trilogy - the independent, powerful girl who knows what she wants and is not afraid to reach for it but at the same time has a soft heart. (Bettina was similar too and she had another trace of mine - she was doing her thing regardless of every obstacle)

~ 12 ~ If you could bring one character back from the dead - which one it’d be?

The School Master. And for real it’s hard to choose just one but I guess Lady Lesso. We so need her power and calm and glorious, elegant evilness.

~ 13 ~ The part that made you cry?

The death of Lady Lesso and the death of professor Dovey. Also the last chapter of book six, just because of sentiment and the fact it was the actual end. 

~ 14 ~ The part that made you the angriest?

The Kingdom Council destroying their rings. I wanted to literally threw them all out the window.

~ 15 ~ Is there a character you wish had a different ending? Why?

Sophie. Like I’ve nothing against Hort and I’d want Hort to be happy too, he deserves it, but I didn’t like the fact she threw all of her previous dreams, dumped her Dean position and like literally forget about her “happy on my own” agenda which I really liked. Oh, and also Nicola. I expected her to have a greater role after The Ever Never Handbook. 

~ 16 ~ What do you think the Wish Fish would show you?

Me in a white coat and a stetoscope around my neck :) 

~ 17 ~ The Snow Ball or the No-Ball?

I might be an Ever, but I must give it to Sophie that No-Ball seems much cooler XD

~ 18 ~ What would be your Circus of Talents show?

I’m so not sure. I like to dance and sing but I’m not doing it with any grace, my main hobby is writing but it’s not show-able, so I think I’d give a heated rant about human rights and equality or something. Maybe at least Dovey would be proud. 

~ 19 ~ If you had to become a mogriff, what animal/plant would you be?

I’d love to be a bird - maybe a hawk. Because flying and stuff. 

~ 20 ~ Readers or Descendants?

It may sounds main-stream but my favourite place in the Woods is The School for Good and Evil <3

Highlights from Tides of the Dark Crystal (Book #3 in the series):

Amri is having a rough time adjusting to the world above ground

he found the caves of grot to be pretty boring

it’s always snowing in Ha’rar, which never clicked with me before reading this book even though i knew it was located in a mountainous region

Tavra is the one who suggests that they go visit the Sifa (hm wonder why)

Amri’s a good climber

he also talks to stones

older women are called “mauddies”

Grottans never wear shoes since it’s very easy to slip in the caves

Amri is used to walking toe-first, not-heel first

he also has bad posture

there’s definitely hints of Naia and Amri being interested in each other

they bond over living in more isolated clans and experiencing the outer world for the first time

The Hunter has red eyes

Onica immediately recognizes spider Tavra

Onica has a cool little cabin on her boat

she has her own boat

they have special furniture that’s built into the ship and can be pulled/folded up and down

she’s a psychic and a “far-dreamer”, which is described as being able to see things far away in space and time while dreaming (so kinda like astral projecting?)

she’s able to communicate directly with thra

Tavra says she’s known Onica for a long time

Tavra can still dreamfast in her spider body, and within the dream space she takes her gelfling form

despite there being jokes about the All-Maudra having a ton of children in the previous books, it’s said that she only has three daughters

either they switched it up to coincide with the show or 3 kids is a lot to the gelfling; there’s no mention of her having sons

Vapra buildings are made of ice and stone

Brea and Seladon still have a strained relationship, but it seems to be worse here

Brea still saw the symbol

The skeksis carriage design comes from the books 

The Chamberlain can and will talk in a deep voice which kills me 

Chamberlain does the whole “hOw dArE YoU IM ONE OF TWICE NINE” thing which is funny cuz they never acknowlege their other half

He still drinks Mira’s essence :/ 

Amri is mistaken for a Vapra 

The main characters as well the All-Maurdra and some others go into the dreamspace with Aughra, but the purpose of this is different

Amri is the one who doesn’t get a nickname from Aughra

Tavra and Onica have had discussions about Mayrin’s true nature

Onica is definitely the more level-headed and understanding one while Tavra can be stubborn and overbearing

the Sifa gather on a bay called Cera-Na

Tavra is determined to teach Amri how to fight

Onica is teaching Kylan how to sail

Onica believes that it’ll be easier for her and Tavra to be together now that Tavra has a spider body

Mayrin did not approve of the relationship because they’re from different clans

Onica and Maudra Ethri are about the same age and grew up together

there’s a new Sifa character, Tae, who also grew up with them

Coral can be cracked open and eaten

Onica didn’t know what the mystics were

Maudra Ethri’s ship, the Omerya, is made of coral and anemones

some sea life lives within the coral

full-blooded Sifa mostly have red hair, but sometimes they also have streaks of black, blue, or turquoise

the Sifa still accept anyone in their clan and have a much more diverse population

it’s mostly assumed that Tavra is dead, almost no one knows of her spider form

the sifa adorn themselves with bells/jewels/wire

Maudra Ethri has dark red and black hair with one green eye and a smooth green jewel replacing her other eye

she’s called “Gem-Eyed Ethri”

Amri, like Naia, also has trouble controlling his temper and his words

Tavra knows a lot about Cera-Na

Onica is cherished by most if not all of the Sifa

The Mariner (Lord skekSa) is in much better shape than the rest of the Skeksis

she wears a gown with armor and an embroidered brocade coat on top

the Mariner left the castle of the crystal hundreds of years before the events of the book, when she disagreed with the Emperor’s way of ruling

Despite leaving the castle years ago, the Mariner is still in contact with some of the skeksis

her ship is literally inside a sea monster

the Mariner has a great voice

the skeksis know what the Arathim are, but no one else seems to know

Amri gets tired of not having a reputation or a nickname and starts calling himself “Amri the Mysterious” aoeidjfadjfa;

Naia is seriously affected by dryness

Onica’s eyes are turquoise

Onica’s wings were green and amber, but they were lost in a storm

the day of the storm was the day she met Tavra

there’s 2 new Dousan characters, who are brothers, but i honestly don’t know if they have a chance of being featured in the series (Amri might)

Being a nomadic tribe, and a group where death is an important aspect of life, the Dousan are not big on material objects

they’re also all about tradition

the crystal desert’s sand is black and gold

the Dousan are split up into 12 clans, called xerics, which are each led by a sandmaster

the clans travel separately unless they’re called to gather by Maudra Seethi, which is rare

“cloud-jellies” exist which i think are some kind of jellyfish

all clans have a communal hearth at the center of their main location

the Dousan were introduced to the rituals and philosophies that became their way of life by one of the mystics (probably the ritual guardian)

the Dousan have their own tree that they gather around, called the Wellspring Tree

Rek’yr is in this! very briefly though

Maudra Mayrin still dies in this one, and all the other maudras are asked to join Seladon’s crowning ceremony

Tavra openly admits that her mother put her duties as All-Maudra before her daughters

Naia suggests that Tavra should be All-Maudra, but Tavra rejects the idea since she’s in her spider body

dreamfasting can be an intimate thing and is kinda seen as like first base in this context

the skeksis don’t even like the Vapra

Seladon still declares that her mother was a traitor at her crowning ceremony

she says that she did not return Mayrin’s body to Thra, but doesn’t explain what she did with it

the Ritual Master and the General were both there

Seladon also declared the Vapra’s loyalty to the skeksis, and anyone who refused to give her a piece of the crown was basically declaring war

Maudras Fara and Laesid refuse to bless Seladon while the rest do, but there is no confrontation specifically between Fara and Seladon

Tavra concludes that the skeksis probably killed her mother because they knew that Seladon would be easier to manipulate and that Tavra was no longer in the picture

the Mariner’s mystic counterpart, urSan the Swimmer, is basically like a mermaid

Tavra doesn’t want Brea to think that she abandoned her

even cloaks have slits in them for gelfling wings

some Vapran homes are carved inside parts of the mountains

the Mariner is a very complicated skeksis but she’s still way cooler than most of them

the skeksis are trying to find a way to drain their mystic counterparts and become whole, probably not as urskeks but as skeksis

Naia’s eyes are blue

skeksis blood is black

Red anemone

Meaning and why this flower was chosen:

I think its deliciously ironic as this flower represents luck, and greatly resembles the flower they went to pick for their sister! Before falling of a cliff in the attempt. but instead of dying his brain was transferred into the body of a super panther (hard to explain) and later joined there sister in fighting evil Nazi's! Which also fits very well, as Anemone's other meaning is a protector against evil.

Description:

A defender against evil, this flower is a bit ironic with how unlucky this poor guys life has been. A real softy with a bit of a bite, he fights evil science experiments in the dead of night with the rest of his family.
