Another one bites the dust! Finished a knitted shawl for my grandma.

Variegated, worsted weight yarn (are we sensing a pattern here?); simple garter stitch pattern with eyelets around the edges. Took me a couple of weeks to finish (because life keeps getting in the way and taking up time, ugh).

I don't think my grandma will like the colors much (turned out a bit darker than I anticipated), but I've been wrong before.

On to the next (already started: simple wrist warmers for my sister-in-law to match the hat I made her).

🪷 31.07.2024 || GUESS WHO IS FINALLY EMPLOYED YAYYYY!!!! as of next tuesday i am an employee of my dream cafe making tons of money and being all cute making coffees. the owner interviewed me and gave me a free latte too (*≧▽≦) he was super super nice and so sweet and im so so so excited to make money and save up to buy a mini cooper now i have to get my N. also yes i missed yesterday but i still wanna use photos from then because i got MY FIRST EVER FIGURE im winning sm rn other than the fact that my period is beating my ass and rendered me bedridden after my interview but that's ok because i have a JOB and a FIGURE and im HAPPY.

Memories From Before the Fall

(FFxivWrite2024 Make-up: Day 6 - Halcyon)

The La Noscean sun sets over the Rhotano Sea in a bold hue. Crystalline blue cedes to the encroaching orange, spilling like a pigment between the waves, with twilight on its heel, chasing it into the depths. Myri Nhota inhales deeply and watches her young daughter skip stones on the shore, though most of the stones cast plunk pathetically into the inky water. Beside her is a fresh fire, kept strong with ample kindling, stretching skyward to drive back the falling darkness. The lilac hue of Myri’s eyes glimmer in the fresh moonlight, just as her daughter’s violet pupils reflect off the cascading waves at her feet, signalling the change in territory to passersby.

            “Come, Lerih! It is time we begin,” Myri calls out as she smothers the fire with a pre-filled jug of water, “Our leisure time is at an end; we must travel. After this night of travel, we rejoin the rest of our clan in the Shroud. We should not dally!”

            “Coming!” Lerih exclaims from the water’s edge, spinning gleefully to meet her mother’s glimmering eyes. “Are we hunting tonight, Mama?”

wdym the year is almost over and i haven't posted this couple at all

Finished knitting a blanket for my nephew as a graduation gift.

Used a variegated acrylic yarn and a diagonal stitch (that's really hard to see with this yarn, as it turns out 😅).

It's basically a large throw blanket (big enough to curl up and sleep under if you're short like me).

I like how it turned out, if I say so myself. I only screwed up the pattern in a few spots, and since the pattern is hard to see in the first place, it's even harder to see the mistakes.

This took me a few months (knitting in my free time, and when I wasn't working on socks for my sister lol). Someday, I'd like to get faster. Gotta remind myself that I'm still pretty new at this. 😅
