After reading this, I also have a question for Myr! Specifically her family. Can I fight them--- 🤣🤣🤣 I have so many things I wanna ask, like what's the incident that caused her to be disowned? Is it a scheme pulled off by Tristam so that he gets to be heir? Then again, there are always at least two sides to the story, so I'm curious about her family's POV too! But like I also want to keep the suspense for when you post Killer Whales uwaahhh the dilemma !!! I'm so curious!

Anyway, plot stuff aside, Myr is so tall and pretty! 🥹💖✨ (I immediately compared her height to mine and wooaaah) I love the full-body art, but in addition to that, I love her smile in the 2nd page too (on the right side) 🥰🥰

It does make me wonder if she'll eventually have some revenge plot against her family. Honestly, wouldn't be surprised with how they treated her. Last one, but I'm also wondering about her weapon of choice and fighting style!

After almost a week since the question arose (for which I thank my dear mutual lixenn, because eeeeep I'm a coward and we wowuldn't be here without her), I can finally present to the fandom my first ever character sheet for Killer Whale's main protagonist!

Myriam “Myr” Cavalieri

Gender: Female

Affiliation: Cavalieri Family

Myriam has renounced her full name long ago, and decided to go by her nickname, Myr. She’s is the eldest daughter of the Cavalieri Family’s Nera Signora (their definition of “boss”). Despite being next in line for the title of Nera Signora, her birthrights have been erased: she was effectively disowned by her mother following a certain incident pertaining her little brother and now heir to the family, Tristam. For this reason, her training with the Pallid Flame was cut short at a young age (12), and all resources that were necessary for her development and well-being were dedicated to Tristam. Her mother (and boss) has ceased to acknowledge her in any way. So far, she was never allowed to leave her family’s territories…

It shouldn’t surprise you that she’s not the favorite sibling: Myr is everything a daughter of the Cavalieri shouldn’t be. She grew up in an environment which actively ignored and despised her, and so she became a passionate troublemaker in order to challenge the system that she was forced to participate in. With her fellow Cavalieri Members, she’s confident in herself and her abilities even if her training is incomplete, often showing herself as cocky and boastful to those who want to pick on her. She loves being the centre of all attention, even though she often is for the wrong reasons…

Once removed from the Cavalieri estate, or whenever she’s around her best friends Lidija and Anemone, her attitude becomes much more positive. Since the Cavalieri teach their daughters to be cunning and use allies to their advantage, Myr will instead strive to be loyal to those who are nice to her and will protect them, partly so that she can be a bit of a show off.

However, her mother’s treatment and the way Tristam has taken everything that was destined to be hers, even if she had never desired to become the Cavalieri’s leader, has left her scarred. She has yet to forgive everything that was done to her.

Project Killer Whale (name to change? fuck it we ball) is a retelling of the canon story with the addition of a few OC elements, mainly the protagonist and her context. I don't have a beta reader. It's my first ever full fledged fanfiction, and it means a lot to me.

Despite being integral part of the Cavalieri heritage for as long as the family has existed, the Pallid Flame still hides many mysteries behind its selective behaviors. The latest generations of Cavalieri in particular have shifted their interest onto the possibility whether the complex Failsafe System, a state of the body that only occurs in unconscious Pallid Flame users, could be utilized to further improve the physical manipulation abilities of their fighters. In order to achieve this and other studies, they have provided themselves with a team of elite chemists and biochemical engineers, picking their members from the family itself as well as from external members.

Up to the year of Tristam’s birth, the team had been led by Dr. Filippo Argenti, the consort of the Eight Nera Signora and father of Myr and her brother. After years of vacancy following Dr. Argenti’s gruesome passing, his role was finally taken up by Anemone, a young engineer and apprentice of the Mother Branch family medic, Dr. Fausto Caligari.

Thanks to her dedication and the results reached during her time as researcher, she becomes highly estimated by the Eighth. As time passed though, her ambitions grow along with her genius to the point where she wishes to change the family’s ways and reputation to be more akin to those of the Vongola, a family rumored to be noble and magnanimous.

All those thoughts were destined to remain fantasies…until the day she meets Myr. Anemone recognizes that Myr could be the turning point for the family’s history thanks to her stubborn refusal of their treacherous means, and so swears to find a way to make her stronger than her brother.

Then, one day, Myr disappears without a trace. Her mind immediately chooses its culprit: Tristam.

Hello Muffin! 💙 First, very sorry to have taken so much time to answer you and everyone else - overtime at work really messes with my energy levels, plus this weekend there's a birthday and a friend from another region visiting so hopefully I make it before the weekend ends.

How would [Myr] react to a stranger risking her life to save her?

Myr is very self-reliant, and despite the Pallid Flame being a literal alarm bell for danger, she's... very bad at spotting it. Unless her Flame literally flares up on its own, she thinks she can tackle anything. Idiot child

If she found herself in a dire situation, she'd rather take the blow and fight to the finish than run, so if a stranger did happen to interfere she'd be pretty annoyed at first, because despite the quote you cited (which by the way was a first hint at how envious she can be towards others) she doesn't want other people to get injured because of her ineptitude. That would make her feel even weaker. Plus, they're taking her spotlight! Unforgivable!

Hers is more a desire for companionship, to have someone care for her the way Gokudera cares about Tsuna. Again, that was said on a whim, and knowing her, she'd loathe to have someone as obnoxiously loyal as Dera with her. Nonetheless, she's starting to feel like she's missing out on something Tsuna can experience regularly, which is... not a good sign, considering how stubborn Myr can get.

Why does she dislike Cheese?

Italian cheese is a hit-or-miss experience honestly. Goat or sheep cheese variants are very popular, but they're also much stronger in flavor than normal cow cheese. Tuscany, the region where the City of Dite is located and where Myr grew up, is a region known for many variants of Pecorino (sheep cheese), so the Cavalieri canteen often had that type of cheese in its dishes (the City is almost auto-sufficient, most of their produce is grown in their own grounds, they make their own cheese with their own cattle which is used for both eating and selling).

She could never get used to the flavor, and ended up loathing cheese entirely.

First! What's her natural haircolour since she dyed it pink? Why did she dye it?

How would she feel if someone organized and threw a big high-society party in her honor?

I wanted to answer this one with a coloured sketch (and I will do that soon enough by reblogging this ask hopefully), but I'll say she has reddish-brown hair! She got many compliments as a child for it, many commented about her looking "like a porcelain doll", but as soon as she could she got the necessary Cavalieri permits* to buy and use pink hair dye.

Her main reason for dyeing her hair was, well... she liked the color, really - though there's more. Her mother had dyed hair too, and she wanted to imitate her as a child. The wish lasted even after her parents' exhile, and Lidija eventually managed to dye her hair pink as a sort of tribute to her mom, who always encouraged her to express her creativity in spite of their living conditions under the Cavalieri.

Not to mention, Lidija thinks it makes her look cute.

How would she feel if someone organized and threw a big high-society party in her honor?

Ecstatic would be an understatement! She has this very idolized idea of high-end parties annd can't wait for when she'll be able to socialize with othter fashion-oriented people. Plus, panic, because A DRESS MUST BE CHOSEN!!! WOE!! I really hope the person organizing the party knows that Lidija needs a heads-up at least two weeks before the actual event, otherwise she won't have time to choose her attire comfortably. It's a serious matter, especially when she's the star of the show!

She'd also insist on Myr and Anemone coming and choose their dresses and accessories for them. Myr is absolutely abysmal when it comes to clothing, and Anemone is too work-oriented to care about high-end parties. They need guidance.

At the actual party she'd have a BLAST introducing herself to everybody (even though she has no actual title to boast about) and showing off her attire. Again, she has a very idolized idea of mafia parties so she has no idea what she'd actually do there other than meeting people and receiving compliments, but she know she'd nail it and be the evening's main attraction.

*permits: you can consider the City of Dite as an independent colony, one of the many Cavalieri bases. If you need an item that is not present in the manor's inventory, you can request it with the right permits. Permits are given out to low-level members (residents of the manor) when they prove their worth and obedience to their duties. It is much easier for someone like Anemone to request a permit, hence why she can afford all her nail art supplies.

Lidija Kastelic Cavalieri

Gender: Female

Pronouns: she/her

Nationality: Italian (mother, Cavalieri) / Slovenian (father, Kastelic)

Height/Weight: approx. 165 cm/66 kg

Flame type: flameless

Affiliation: Cavalieri Family

Lidija was born under the most unfortunate circumstances in relation to Cavalieri standards. Her father is an “outsider”, a mercenary under the family’s service, and her mother a simple employee in the financial department; she suffers from asthma and has been overall unfit for fighting; and as if all of this didn’t make her expendable enough, she was born flame-less - she is physically unable to manifest and utilize the Pallid Flame.

It doesn’t stop there. Lidija has always been a caring, sweet, extroverted child. Her parents were taken from her and exiled when she was very young, and no matter how good her grades were (especially in maths) she could never absorb the Cavalieri’s mentality, and has been considered “dense” ever since. For this reason, she could never integrate herself socially with the other kids. She would try to mitigate that by being obedient and meek, but her emotions would always get the best of her and cause her to cry whenever under pressure.

The only person she was ever able to form a connection with was Myr. They met at five years old, and after some time of learning each other's personalities they’ve been inseparable ever since. She knows she could never become a free spirit like her friend, but still appreciates that Myr has learnt to accept her as weak and sensitive as she may be. The quiet and downcast little Lidija learns to express her emotions - like her natural cheerfulness and her love for plants and sweets - in spite of the Cavalieri’s will of suppress them in all their members, and visits her friend regularly.

Lidija has enver had a dream of her own. Myr gave her one, and promised her that they would leave the Cavalieri behind together. But Myr left. And now she waits, her hands held together…

DISCLAIMER: info about KW's structure below, could be considered spoilers but I tried to be as vague as possible. It's more like future plans than anything. If you're curious about how KW's going to look like, dive right in!

Ok here's the thing. KW is a retelling of KHR, and just like KHR it's divided in arcs, though these arcs don't necesarily cover the canon arcs in their entirety, that's only true for the second one. Let's see if I can summarize them (as per anything I make, there could be changes in the future, but this is the current plan)

Act 1 - The Opened Way (current) -> from right after Kokuyo Arc to the start of Varia Arc Act 2 - SPOILS OF WAR (placeholder name) -> Varia Arc Act 3 - SIEGE (placeholder name) -> from right after the end of Varia Arc to a number of months later (as part of some of KW's timeline choices, Tsuna's trip to the future and subsequentially the earthquake which kickstarts the Inheritance Arc has been "postponed") Act 4 - BIRTHRIGHT (placeholder name) -> continuing from when Act 3 has left off to some time after, still before the start of Inheritance Arc

FUTURE EPISODE -> don't know if this one will be divided in arcs too (maybe two?), but it takes place in the Future Arc, future timeline

From future episode on, it's still a WIP.

I know for sure I won't cover Inheritance and Curse of the Arcos in total (it's either something that happens in parallel but unrelated to those arcs, or directly something that happens after them);

I know what plotline will need to come to a close in that final section;

I know more or less what SHOULD happen, but I have no idea how to actually "end" KW. Maybe because KHR itself doesn't feel like it brings "closure" to me, it's more of an open ending which really I prefer over a definite one.

So the answer is.... who knows? Not me for sure (～￣▽￣)～

🌦️ Overcast: I literally cannot wait to write more about the Entity for this exact reason, because I think she'll cause those two different reactions all by herself at the same time.

Though for the second part, I really think people are not going to like how Myr's going to get going forward, for a multitude of reasons.

First, she's going to take a path that many other OCs before her have taken and I feel many will roll their eyes and be like "what, really? Another one?" (no it's not the new Varia cloud guardian, please don't hurt me). This doesn't bother me one bit, but I have a feeling some readers will not be thrilled about it.

Second, Myr will not make the "right" choice, or the most logical one.

Third, she's caused her fair share of trouble in the past. As our dear Tristam said once, why do you think she was stripped of her birthrights?

Hello Kitt! Thank you for your questions 🩵 the answers are kinda long this time so read more jail it is

I see the DinoxLidija group is scheming. plotting. pondering even.

... but unfortunately not in the near future. I'll say that up to the end of Varia arc, the two main plotlines (Myr in Namimori, or MIN, and Lidija + Anemone in the City, or LAC) remain parallel lines that meet only indirectly through the appearance of a particular OC who's able to move with relative freedom.

Because Dino will be important for the events of the MIN plotline, he won't be able to meddle with the LAC one at least until after Varia arc, where significant changes to the canon timeline will be made (namely much more time between the end of Varia arc and Tsuna's departure for Future arc, and subsequentially the earthquake that kickstarts Shimon arc). You can consider Varia arc to be the moment of "rupture" with the canon series of events, after that there will be much more room for the more original part of the fic. (And then there's the future episode! Wehee!)

He got worse in his pre-teens, after Nifate started educating him accordingly, but then again... it was subtle. Tristam isn't an openly arrogant ruler, he knows how to play his cards well - he just has a more aggressive playstyle than his mother.

1. What's their favourire place to eat out, do they have a specific cuisine they burn for whennthey eat out or do they very loyaly hold to italian food?

3. How screwed would they be if they had suddenly bodyswapped with their crush/love interest and had to pretend to be them for a day? if they dont have one- how screwed would they be if they suddenly bodyswapped with TSUNA?

1. Unfortunately, Myr and Lidija never experienced eating at a nice local restaurant outside the Cavalieri grounds, so their experience is very limited. The most daring thing would be the annual Cavalieri Christmas party, but even there it's just their typical Italian cuisine with a couple more dishes than normal.

Anemone, being a member of the administration council called Cornice, did have a few occasions where she could leave the Cavalieri grounds for parties with other mafia families. However, being a vegetarian in high-class Italy is harder than finding a needle in a haystack, so whenever she can she resorts to Indian food! From my research I saw it's one of the most veg-friendly cuisines so I can imagine Anemone enjoying Indian dishes like vangi bath, lentil curry, tofu tikka masala and so on.

If I had to assign a favourite cuisine to Myr and Lidija... Myr likes spicy food but in general she likes dishes with many different tastes, so I think Thai food would suit her greatly. Lidija is a little more sensitive to spice but would still like the variety of tastes, so Vietnamese? Japanese too for the milder flavours and pretty visuals. Honestly I'm not too versed on food so hopefully I got things right-

Oh shit I almost forgot Tristam- I don't see him being *too* adventurous with food. Perhaps he's the only one of the main 4 who would stick to Italian cuisine if given the choice. Given his fine tastes though, I think he'd enjoy Japanese food too.

2. Favorite beverages~

[Myr] - plain hot milk (occasionally choccy milk)

[Lidija] - Blue Lagoon, peach juice, pink grapefruit juice, cappuccino

3. Myr and Anemone will both scratch and bite begging to be let out. Especially Anemone since ...yeah. And Myr trapped in a small frail boy's limbs... nightmare fuel. Lidija would swap with Teodoro atm though which would make her feel very handsome hehe, she'd be very good at imitating him since she spies on him at any given occasion 👀

Right now I can only answer this one for Lidija, because Myr WILL have a love interest but it's imperative that it stays secret for the sake of the story (everyone will stop reading KW when they realize who it is so let me have readers for some time butter LMAO /j) and Anemone's is... still a bit blurry in my vision.

[Lidija] - She has a huge crush on Teodoro Cavalieri, the Head Housekeeper who took his father's role after his sudden passing. He's her same age and has been taking up his role for a mere year or so, but Lidija fell head over heels for his dandy looks and his dignified manners. She's convinced he's the type of guy she reads about in her romance books and hopes one day he'll notice her, but so far he's barely ever set eyes on her.

🧠 - What do you like most about your OCs?

[Myr] - oh Myr, my beloved little gremlin. How to pinpoint what I love about her? She has the looks of my childhood OC, a lot of feelings bottled inside her and a thirst for danger. My little ball of angery!! I'd go with her potential for growth. Her story could go in so many different ways, but I think the one I chose is the best path for her. (Myr...sorry in advance)

[Lidija] - she's a STRONGHOLD of a lady. She lost her parents, made friends with a depressed and unapproachable Myr and became a successful accountant for the Fourth Branch. I think that her being flameless crowns it all because it really brings you down the social ladder among the Cavalieri, and she doesn't really have many friends because of it - and what does she do? She tames the most unwanted and rabid of the beasts of the Cavalieri. She's confident, constant, proactive, positive and never gives in.

[Anemone] - her role in the story will be fundamental, she will be the reader's eyes into the Cavalieri situation while Myr is away and I have big plans for her. She chose the path of renewal, she doesn't want to end the Cavalieri, she wants to change them, to make them a virtuous and respected family because she's seen the horrors of the Pallid Flame and deep down cares about these poor souls. She wants to save them.

Having spent most of her days outside the City of Dite base of the Cavalieri, she had lots of time to be outside (and generally doesn't like to spend too much time confined inside rooms or buildings). Once Anemone noticed her talent for recognizing birds and plants, she started giving her books about the local fauna and flora, so that Myr could learn the actual names of all the natural elements she grew to be familiar with. Turns out, Myr has a lot of fun recognizing birds off the sound the make, and has a fondness to watch plants grow stronger day by day! That would make Myr a fond plant mom that would only need a roof on her head to start taking care of her own plants - the ideas of tending a garden or even farming crops don't sound too bad to her either!

She doesn't know how to ride a bike. Her dad couldn't teach her in time before passing.

Despite the fic's title being a reference to her, she doesn't actually know of the existence of killer whales.

Lidija is really good with rollerblades. Since she's flameless, she's often juggled between different duties other than her usual time in the financial department, and rollerblades are a convenient way to speed through the hallways of the base without causing the ire of the prefects that patrol them.

She can be maternal, but doesn't particularly like children and doesn't see herself becoming a mother, ever. That would get in the way of tending to her future horse. And birds.

Lidija tends to "humanize" objects, as if they had their own feelings and memories. That makes throwing away old clothes and other belongings a very long, dramatic and complicated progress. Anemone often agrees to take her old stuff because it makes Lidija feel a little better about it.

4 - Is [Myr] upfront about her feelings: yes, usually. Her commitment to always do the opposite of what the Cavalieri and her mother want her to do made her grow up to be an honest person, and she puts effort into following that line. Even if it comes to more complex feelings, like romantic love for example, hiding them or lying about them doesn't come naturally to her so the other person would probably catch on.

Not all the time though. She's keeping a big secret to Anemone specifically, but I can't talk about it because of KW spoilers. Let's just say that while being a person of her word, Myr isn't exempt from making false promises.

9 - Where is [Myr]'s comfort place: eh. Poor lass doesn't have a specific one. She had a few "lairs" around the Cavalieri estate, and those were it (at least when Ysoude wasn't hunting her around for sport). She does feel at ease in the wilderness in general, but the only comfort place she really had was her dad's study room when he was alive.

Now that she's in Namimori, it's still a little early to tell.

18 - What is [Myr's] favorite form of affection: attention! Myr is a big strong lady but doesn't go much far without a crowd to cheer her on. If she messes with you it's usually because she wants your attention. But what gets to her is praise. Compliments make all giddy and fuzzy inside 🩵
