Someone made a Gritty out of cheese, and it's perfect

Christmas came early this Friday, when a sculpture of Gritty made out of cheese was unveiled.

The Philadelphia Flyers' mascot was crafted by expert food sculptures Jim Victor and Marie Pelton  using three 40-pound bricks cheddar cheese, according to Philly Voice. We assume it had an extra sharp flavor profile — it's what Gritty would want.

And, if you're feeling doubtful that any artist could ever truly capture Gritty's chaotic and charismatic essence, just take a look at this glorious tribute:

Stunning, isn't it? Two-feet and two-inches of cheese Gritty perfection.

Wondering when and how you'll be able to pay your respects to this manifestation of pure good? Cheese Gritty will be available for public viewings come Sunday at the Lemon Hill Mansion in Philadelphia as a part of the Historic Houses of Fairmount Park's four day "Very Philly Christmas" event. 

And bizarrely enough, Pelton told the Philly Voice that unlike most food sculptures, cheese Gritty "is not intended to be eaten." 

We have literally no idea what this could mean, but it's only respectful that we refrain from eating a likeness of a holy man anyways.
