Putting the pieces back together

I noticed the difference in my mentality around 3rd grade, never spoke on it. Always remained respectful and stayed in my place. My parent had an authoritarian parenting style. I excelled in grade school, high school was different. My personality changed and I started to rebel, due to know guidance or support. I saw no purpose in finishing high school. Got my first job, I was excited! Living as an adult, I met a guy who was very charming & respectful. Got pregnant x4. Now I'm a single mother (I dislike that term) doing fairly well according to my level of knowledge. The people that was close to me hurt me the most. All this time contributing to my downfall, only supported my bad habits. Told my kids all the negative things about me. Deep down I knew to a certain degree but the empath in me gave them a pass, I seek to see good in everyone. One of my kids betrayed me the most, did everything in their power to destroy me. As much as I want them to break this cycle with me, my tolerance level is at its peak. I have given that situation to God. That's my AHA moment, I released all attachment and took my power back!

Thank you for 35 years of laughs, smiles, hugs, love, friendships, tears, heartaches, disappointments, failures, achievements and celebrations... Cheers to another 35!!! As I reflect upon the last year spent in the midst of a global pandemic and under quarantine, many lessons were learned but none as important as this one. I know for me that LIFE isn't measured by the number of years I've lived but by the number of stories I have to tell, the priceless memories I've made with my loved ones and my constant progress rather than perfection. 2020 was the most challenging year anyone has ever faced and I'm proud of all of us for making it to today. I know that life is hard and unpredictable so if I can share any advice it would be this... Don’t let your daily responsibilities bog you down. Don’t let problems give you frown lines. Use your vacation, personal, and sick time to take care of you (and your loved ones) mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. There is much more to life than these troubles. Life’s biggest achievement aren’t the degrees, titles and promotions, but the way in which you treat others when no one is looking or holding you accountable. Let's continue supporting each other and loving each other unconditionally. As always I urge you to remain safe, stay protected and mask up!
