Anyways after watching DR3 again I gotta say, it wasn't as dogshit as I remembered. I mean, the future arc is still kinda ass, but watching both seasons separately totally fucked over my blind watch of both, so I really wish it were more spoken about that you're supposed to alternate episodes. It makes it tough for newer fans in the space to make sense of what's happening :(

That said, the Despair arc slaps, ily Chisa Yukizome my underrated queen trapped in a subpar anime

Also, the despair arc really took an already phenomenal story with AI Chiaki and just??? Expanded upon it in the most devastatingly beautiful way??? Making her not only real, but class 77's class rep and the unintending heart of the class, to the point where Junko knew that she was the embodiment of their hope and put her specifically through the rigged maze. And the sucker punch to the gut of AI Chiaki being born because EVERYONE LOVED HER SO MUCH THAT A 1:1 RECREATION OF HER SOUL WAS GENERATED? I think that hits a looooot harder in a modern day where generative AI has become so commomplace. For her to be perfectly regenerated in the way she was AND become the class' hope AGAIN in sdr2, the Neo World Program would've had to been fed all good data that matched perfectly. And despite the fact that 15 different people were put into the program, one of which had personality and memory-altering brain surgery fucking with his perception, it was STILL ABLE to recreate her 1:1 AND have her unequivocally be good and want to help save everyone meant every. single. one. of. them. Not only viewed Chiaki as THE beacon of light in their life, but understood her on a deep enough personal level that her passions, her connections, her desire to connect, her every mannerism was able to be perfectly copied. Do you know how hard that is? Do you know how difficult it is to get AI generation to do its job THAT PERFECTLY???? But the LOVE ALL OF THEM HAD FOR CHIAKI WAS STRONGER THAN THE BRAINWASHING, and was perfectly unified. Chiaki is beloved, more than any other character. If Makoto is hope, if Junko is despair, Chiaki is love. CHIAKI NANAMI IS LOVE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND-

Because I just randomly started thinking about it, here's what I think the Wolf 359 character's favourite kpop girl groups/idols are (sorry bg stans. also very varying levels of thought went into these lol):

Eiffel - he's such a second gen snob. his faves are f(x) and wonder girls, so he never found out they disbanded. post-finale eiffel is less of a snob (though he still prefers second gen) and he adores iz*one, following all of those girls post-iz*one.

Minkowski - soloists > groups. her fave is iu and when she gets back to earth she becomes obsessed with taeyeon.

Hera - nugu stan queen, secretly runs nugu promoter. favourites are purple kiss, ily:1 and lightsum, but secretly her ult is weeekly.

Hilbert - this is the one time i'm not going to adhere to the timeline bc i just know hilbert would be into loona and i can't explain why. he's particularly a 1/3 stan and thinks plastic candy is super underrated. generally tho, he's all about christian horse girl music.

Lovelace - she adores boa more than anything. also f(x), snsd, wonder girls and hyuna (she and eiffel have a big bonding moment over this). when she gets back to earth, she discovers twice and they immediately become her new ult.

Kepler - i know deep in my bones that kepler listens to brown eyed girls religiously. rip kepler, you would have loved warm hole.

Maxwell - the only group she really cared about was red velvet, and she was a ride or die. rip alana maxwell, you would have loved chill kill and 28 reasons.

Jacobi - maxwell got him into red velvet and then it was all downhill for him from there. he stans like fifty groups/idols across all gens but he rides hard for 2ne1, mamamoo, red velvet and brown eyed girls (he and kepler don't know that the other is obsessed with them). when he gets back to earth, he becomes obsessed with clc and doesn't realise they've disbanded until he's in too deep.

Hmm. Can’t say a fic I’ve written—I haven’t finished posting yet (after what-many-promises? I hate myself 🤣): Blood of Emerald. Historical fantasy, traditional fairy cautionary tale vibe, friendship/relationship between female characters. Lara Dorren. Cerro before-she-was-Queen. The waif mage who seduced the Princess from Elfland. Sorcerers who lived before the saga. There’s no trope particularly interesting or popular in the fandom, and I no longer know why I started it. There are two other mutuals (ily. And thank you) who follow up when I posted. Maybe the low engagement made it harder to keep an update schedule or maybe it’s just me. On the other hand, I think it helps that I can put it away without feeling guilty. And the distance I am benefiting from is making the eventual fic closer to how I wanted it to be.

🫐 Favorite underrated thing in your fandom:

“My” fandom, I still recognize as the witcher fandom, even though I am consumed with writing this Maul fic atm. To relate with 🍓 , the whole pre-saga legend gang. All under explored. Cerro has 4 fics in the fandom (3 of which are mine 😂). Lara Dorren, you’d think there would be more since y’know her genes started the whole Mcguffin stuff. But only 14 (and 3 are mine).

All of the kids characters but especially and specifically Sissel and Britte. Both girls are abused by their dad (with one girl taking it out on her sibling to cope) and its a tradition to use my thane pass kill him in every playthrough i do and adopt his kids. Have done so for the past 10 years of playing this game. They are my babies. I will raise them well.

I really love all of the companions even though I hate the companions history. I feel like characters like Athis and Ria don't get enough love compared to more popular ones like the twins and Aela. Ria is like the nicest person to you when join! Shes still learning and likes hanging out with Vilkas! Shes nice! And Athis is the only elf unless you play an elf character. Which opens up a lot of cool dynamic stuff about his own experiences in the companions and how your presence could change things!

i would kill for owain you all dont understand thats my fucking boy. adhd/autistic king of naming swords. extremely romantic and also a nerd. gone through so much but still so full of goodness and love and SO creative and articulate i'm so fucking mad they screwed up his romance in fates because the romance he has with the player character in awakening is uncomfortable i refuse to date the 2nd gen characters.

if youve been on call with me while talking about fire emblem you would know about the vicious hatred i hold in my heart for corrin and how weak of a fucking character they are.
