“I told you not to put her on the stand. All you guys do is treat me like I don’t know what I’ am doing. I handed you all a solid case that didn’t involve her and you have blown it”
“You’re out of line Detective” Rafael spat back to you.
“No, you’re out of line Counselor, you know it all”
“You need to calm down Y/N” Liv said firmly with a slightly raised voice.
“I’ve had enough of this crap I should have stayed in Brooklyn, at least they listened and wanted me there”
You stormed out of Rafael’s’ office slamming his glass door behind you making the whole wall shake.
“Is she always this emotional?” Rafael frowned at Liv
“Well, No. She is right Rafa, about everything” He rolled his eyes at Liv.
“Who’s the ADA here?”
“You, but she is right”
You had been at Manhattan SVU for 4 months after transferring from Brooklyn SVU. You and Sonny were old friends. You had finished the academy together, and then finally crossed paths again in Brooklyn. You actually wished you had stayed there. Back in Brooklyn you were one of them, you got along with the ADA, and everyone was close friends. Sonny had recommend you to Liv after you cracked a big string of rapes and she wanted to meet you. Liv offered you the position and you stupidly took it, thinking that you would have been welcomed with open arms, how wrong you were.
From the moment you walked in you felt like an outsider, even Sonny was different with you, even though he was your partner. He never backed you up on anything, you were always wrong. They treated you like you didn’t belong there and never took on board anything you had to say. Even if they asked you for after work drinks, you were left out and would leave early. It got to the point that you dreaded walking into the bullpen every morning. Rafael was the worst of all, he treated you like you were invisible, which you hated because you had feelings for him from the moment you laid eyes on him.
A huge case had come in. A women had accused an Olympian, and once it was made public 2 other women came forward. You had a funny feeling about the 3rd women that came forward, all she had was the story, nothing else to back it up. The first two victims had doctor’s reports and had told someone as soon as it happened. You had worked hard on your own to make a new case file with just two victims who had all the evidence from their attack and gave it to Rafael one day when he was in the squad room before the trial started.
“She is lying”
“You don’t know that” Sonny said back to you.
“Barba don’t put her on the stand, I have given you everything with just the other two victims, it's bullet proof.”
“Why Deactivate? Because you have a feeling?” he smirked at you “Three victims have come forward, three victims will be put on the stand”
“You’re making a big mistake”
“How about you let me do my job. We don’t go off feeling here, we go off evidence”
“Yeah and she has none” you snapped back.
Rafael ended up putting her on the stand and the defence ripped her to pieces. She confessed that she was paid by another Olympian to say she was attacked by the other just to get him out of the running for the Olympics, which ended in the case being a mistrial and he got away with the other two attacks.
Rafael had felt bad after Liv walked out of his office. He had put the case file you had made him in his draw the day you gave it to him, not even bothering to take on board what you said. Rafael pulled it out and had a look, you had been right. You had given him a bullet proof case which would have guaranteed the attacker would have been put away.
You were a good Detective and very beautiful, but you never looked happy, you were always stand offish and never got involved with them. Everything fell into place in his mind. Everyone did treat you like you didn’t know anything and they never included you. He thought back to how he treated you and regret filled him. From the first day he meet you and you smiled at him, his tummy filled with butterflies. But he didn’t want to get hurt, so he did what he did best and closed himself off to you, clearly doing a lot of damage.
You sat in Forlini’s on your 2nd double vodka soda. Everything was running through your head, you were so angry it was making you cry. After everything that had happen, you pulled your phone from your pocket and opened your emails and sent one to Liv asking for a personal week next week, and then emailed your old Lieutenant asking to have a meeting with him when he was free.
You couldn’t do it anymore. It was all too much. These last 4 months had been horrible. Your old Lieutenant didn’t want you to leave in the first place, but had told you there was a position for you whenever you wanted to come back. You hit send when you felt someone sit next to you. You looked over and it was Sonny.
“How much have you had to drink?”
“Why do you care?”
“Come on Y/N, why are you acting like this?”
“You’re really asking me that question?” You frowned at Sonny.
“What do you mean?”
“From the moment I walked in, all you guys have done is make me feel unwelcome. You’re my partner and you don’t even back me up. I hate it here, I wish I never made the transfer. We were friends before here, you’re so different. I don’t know you anymore”
“I didn’t mean-Why didn’t you talk to me about it?” Sonny had a sad look on his face.
“And what’s the point in that? You would just laugh it off and go back to ignoring me with the rest of them”
“I’ am sorry”
“Bit late for that. Just go”
Sonny looked at you, got down off his bar stool and walked away.
A couple hours later you were on your 5th drink, it was getting dark out. You could feel the alcohol making your head swim. But you felt numb which is what you wanted.
“How many of them have you had?”
“What’s it to you?” You didn’t even look up to see who it was.
“How many have you had Detective?” Rafael was standing next to you frowning when you finally looked up.
“Why does everyone seem to care all of a sudden?”
“Excuse me” Rafael sat down on the chair next you and ordered some water and fries.
“What do you want Counselor?”
“Look, I should have listened to you. You were-you were right”
You looked up at him through glassy eyes.
“Doesn’t matter now anyway, I’ll be out of your hair soon enough”
“What do you mean?”
“I’ am going to transfer back. Well hopefully I can. I mean I want to. I have a meeting next week. I hope the boss says yes” you skulled down the last of your drink.
“Why do you want to leave?” he all of a sudden filled with sadness.
“You’re as dumb as Sonny if you don’t know the answer to that question” He frowned to you “All you guys have done since I started here is leave me out and treat me like I don’t know my stuff. And you are worst of all, you treat me like I’ am invisible”
“No I d-”
“Yes you do. I can’t believe I ever had feelings for someone like you”
Rafael sat there and watched you, not sure if it was just the alcohol talking or if you really meant what you said. You felt uncomfortable him starring at you so you started to get down off the bar stool.
----
“Do you always let your girlfriend drink this much on a Friday night?” the Doctor gave Rafael a funny look.
“She’s not my girlfriend, she’s a co-worker”
“With the amount of alcohol in her system and the knock to the head. We will be keeping her in for tonight. She needs her concussion monitored. Maybe you should take better care of your co-worker while drinking.” The Doctor gave him a dirty look.
You woke up to a dark room and a crashing head ache. You let your eyes adjust and a figure caught your attention. You turned your head and Rafael was sitting there with a hospital blanket over him. You tried to adjust yourself, but you made so much noise, it woke him up.
“Sorry I woke you” you muttered.
“It’s ok” he rubbed his face “I’ am glad you’re awake” he gave you a soft smile.
“What happened?”
“You fell and hit your head on the bar. You have a concession”
“Explains the head ache” he laughed at you “Thanks for staying, but you can go now”
“No it’s ok, I’ am happy to stay”
You laid back down looking up at the ceiling.
“Did you mean what you said?” Rafael asked softly.
“Which part?” you sighed back.
“All of it”
“Yeah. I have next week off and I’ am going to talk to my old Lieutenant when he tells me what day I can” tears were filling your eyes.
“OK. But I’ am not just talking about that”
You took a deep breath and let out a small sigh.
“Why does it matter now anyway” You spat back at him sitting up in bed. Rafael walked over and sat on the edge grabbing your hand in his.
“Because I would like to know. Please”
You pulled your hand out of his,
“Of course I meant it. I just needed 5 drinks to finally say something. But like I said it doesn’t matter now”
“Can we ta-” Rafael started to say before you cut him off.
“No”
“Can I talk?” you finally looked into his eyes, they were such a beautiful shade of green and you slightly nodded.
“I’ am sorry. About the case, about making you feel the way you felt. I didn’t realise how I was treating you. I’ am sorry, please think about staying.”
“It’s a little too late for that.”
****
You were let out of Hospital the next day. Rafael ended up leaving early that morning, the DA called him in for a case. You got home and showered when there was a knock at your door. You were shocked when you opened it, seeing who was standing there, Liv, Sonny, Amanda and Fin, each holding a brown paper bag.
“What are you all doing here? Ah I mean come in” you stood aside and let them all in.
“Barba called Liv and told her what happened, so we decided to come over and I’ am going to cook” Sonny said back to you.
“And we want to apologise” Amanda grabbed your shoulder “For making you feel the way you do. We didn’t mean it, we were assholes and we don’t want you to leave”
“I know you have got in contact with your old Lieutenant, but please reconsider” Liv looked at you with a small smile.
Lunch was amazing and for the first time you felt like part of the squad. You just hoped that it would last. Everyone had left after helping to wash up, clean up, the left overs put in the fridge. You had just sat down on the couch when there was another knock on the door, you were even more shocked with who was standing there,
“I know everyone has left, but I brought dessert” Rafael had a big smile on his face “Can I come in?” you moved out of the way to let him make his way in, sitting the bag he was carrying on your kitchen bench “Sorry I wasn’t here with everyone else, the DA wanted me to go over a case, took longer than I expected. How are you feeling?”
“A bit better, thanks. Why did you call Liv?”
“I was worried about you. And, I guess, I hoped she would talk you out of leaving”
“Why?”
Rafael walked over to you, grabbing your hand to pull you around to look at him.
“Because, I like you”
“Is that how you treat people you like? Hate to see how you treat people you love”
“For that. I’ am sorry. I didn’t mean to. I was protecting myself”
You raised your eye brows at him. Before you had chance to say anything back, his lips came crashing on yours. Butterflies filled your tummy and you lent into him moving your head for him to deepen his kiss, Rafael resting his hands on your neck, you resting yours on his waist. After a moment you pulled away to catch your breath and looked into his eyes,
“That was unexpected” you smiled at him, Rafael smirking back at you.
“I really want to see where this goes, I promise I don’t love how I like”

Cuddles are the Best Medicine // L.H
Tumblr media
I feel like I’ve been writing this forever but finally, here is a blurb that was requested by anon, of reader and Luke taking care of Bella when she’s poorly! Thank you as always to @calumrose for helping me with this & reading it over and over again, and for the title since thinking of one is the bane of my life lmao. This is the first blurb I’ve done for my Adoption AU, but I’d love to do more so please let me know if you have any requests here! And feedback is appreciated as always.💘
If you haven’t read any of my Adoption AU before, find them here: Missing Piece & As Time Goes By
“Do you want more of your water, Bella?”
Luke is met with a gentle head shake against his chest, indicating that the poorly toddler wanted nothing other than to remain there for the foreseeable future. It had been around a month since she officially became a Hemmings — since you and Luke were granted the adoption order to become her legal guardians.
“She’s gonna get dehydrated if she doesn’t have any liquids,” You murmur, standing up next to where Luke was holding her on the sofa. “Especially if she keeps throwing up.”
It was the first time she’d had a stomach bug since she came home with you and Luke — you’d only ever had to deal with minor colds and an ear infection, but never her throwing up like this. It had started earlier that day, first her rejecting her favourite lunch, before she had thrown up all over Luke’s shirt. It had shocked her, definitely scared her — hence why she had been so reluctant to eat or drink anything since, in case she was sick again.
“Are you sure you don’t want a little bit, baby? Just a small sip,” Luke coaxes her, warm palms smoothing up her back as she hid her face in his neck, as if it would make her invisible. “I promise it won’t make you sick.”
She whines against his shoulder, her skin hot against his — like a small furnace in his lap. Her fever hadn’t gone down for a few hours, and dressed in nothing but a diaper and a thin tshirt — she was uncomfortable. It takes her a moment but she pushes away from Luke, sitting up in his lap, holding her hand out for the sippy cup full of water so she can have a drink.
“Can I have this?” Luke asks, gesturing to her pacifier. As you were approaching her second birthday, you and Luke knew it would soon be the time to wean her away from her favourite comfort — she wasn’t ready just yet. Especially not when she was ill. Whenever the time came, it would be a difficult process for you all. “You can have it back when you have a drink.”
She places the yellow pacifier in his hand, taking the sippy cup and reluctantly having a drink. It’s as if she realises how thirsty she is as soon as she has a small drink, taking bigger gulps.
“Slow down, bubs, we don’t want it to make your tummy hurt again, do we?” You warn her in a soft voice, as she stops drinking the water and passes the sippy cup back to you. She looks back at Luke, opening her mouth so he can pop the pacifier back between her lips, where she wanted it to be. “Is that better?”
“My poor baby,” Luke whines sympathetically, pushing her thick curls away from her flushed face so they didn’t bother her. Her forehead burned under his touch, his much cooler hands providing relief as she leaned into his touch. “I’m sorry you don’t feel good, Bella. Is there anything that will make you feel happy? Do you want to watch Belle?”
Disney movies were Luke’s go to whenever he wanted to cheer Bella up — Beauty and the Beast being her favourite, since Belle was the princess with the name closest to hers.
“Where’s piggy?” She asks behind her pacifier, looking around the room for the sweet dog. Luke smiles at her request, guessing she was asleep on your bed upstairs, where she usually was. Luke whistles, calling her name and waiting to hear her paw prints trudging down the stairs.
“There she is.” Luke pats her as she jumps up on the sofa next to him, her head landing on his thigh, close to where Bella was sitting. Bella’s tired eye lit up at the sight, her own hand gently tapping Petunia’s head as she relaxed, now that she was there. “Did you come to help Bella feel better?”
Bella yawns behind her pacifier, snuggling against Luke as he runs a hand through her hair. He flicks on the TV, turning on her favourite Disney movie as quiet background noise, hoping to distract her from how poorly she felt.
Fatigue seems to take over her as her eyes flutter, small fists rubbing at her face as if it would keep her awake. Luke could tell she was fighting sleep — a sight he had seen and dealt with many times before.
“Get some sleep, okay? I’m right here.” Luke whispers to her, kissing her forehead. She wraps her arms around his middle — rubbing her cheek against the soft material of his hoodie as she tries to get comfortable. He keeps up the soft circles on her back, knowing it would help her fall asleep.
It took a bit of persistence, but he finally felt her breathing even out as she fell asleep, letting her body rest.
***
“Does she still feel hot?”
Luke nods as he very gently touches her forehead, not wanting to startle her as she sleeps. Her nap had lasted for just over an hour, which was how long she usually slept for in the afternoon, yet there was no sign of her waking up anytime soon. He shifts her gently, his lips brushing the top of her head as he holds her.
“I don’t want to wake her up.” Luke pouts at you in concern, gently resting his cheek on top of her head. He knows she’ll get upset, especially since she felt so unwell before falling asleep — she finally looked comfortable, and he didn’t want to disturb that. “I think we’re about to have a very grumpy toddler.”
“I know, it’s been three hours since she last had her medicine though, her fever isn’t going down.” You tell him, gently pushing her curls away from her face as she fusses in Luke’s arms a little. “She can go back to sleep after if she wants to.”
Any form of routine went out of the window when she didn’t feel well — you knew her napping for this long in the afternoon would mean she wouldn’t sleep well in the night, but you had to do everything to make sure she felt okay, and if that meant her napping all afternoon — that’s what she’d do.
Luke nods, sighing in reluctance before he gently taps Bella’s shoulder, shaking her ever so slightly in the hopes of slowly waking her, without startling her. He shifts her slightly in his arms, moving her away from his chest so she would wake up. She instantly clings onto the neck of his hoodie, wanting to stay cuddled up to him.
“Bella,” He murmurs, shaking her shoulder a little as she whined around her pacifier, a hand lifting to rub her eyes. She’s half-awake for a moment before she starts crying, pushing her face into Luke’s shoulder. “I know, I know you were having a good sleep. I’m sorry.”
“No,” She cuddles back up to him, a sad tone in a her voice. “Sleepy.”
“I know you are,” Luke murmurs, pushing her hair away from her face and kissing her forehead. Her skin burns under his lips. She reluctantly sits up a little and opens her eyes, stretching in his lap. “You need some more medicine though, baby, to make you feel better.”
“No more,” She cries, hiding her face against Luke’s shoulder as if it could stop you from giving the medicine to her. He stands up with her in his arms, rubbing her back as he followed you into the kitchen. “No please.”
“I’m sorry sweetheart,” Luke coos to her as she cries, knowing how much she hates the medicine she’d had three hours precious. The combination of her feeling so unwell along with her sleep being disturbed definitely didn’t help. Luke also felt bad saying that she had to have it when she said no — teaching her consent had been something you tried to focus on. Yet some things, she just had to do. “We can’t even bribe her with food because I don’t want her to throw up again.”
“Listen, Bella.” You get her attention softly, running your finger over her cheek so she’s looking at you. “If you have your medicine, we can go and watch a movie in our big bed, how does that sound? Whatever you want to watch, okay?”
Her whining didn’t stop as you filled the syringe with the correct amount of medicine, handing it to Luke as he gently took her pacifier from her mouth.
“Open up, sweetheart.” Luke coaxed her, his fingertips smoothing up and down her back. She did, reluctantly — her face scrunching up at the taste as she swallowed it. “That’s my girl, I know it’s not nice.”
“Drink please.” She holds her hand out for her sippy cup, wanting to get rid of the unpleasant taste. You handed it to her and she had a drink, soon getting over the medicine. “Bed now?”
“Shall we get you all cosy in your pyjamas? Then we can have a cuddle in our bed.” Luke asks her, starting to head upstairs so he could get her changed. He thought back to when she’d refuse to let him hold her, to when she resisted any kind of comfort from her — he had no idea how you would’ve dealt with her being ill if she still reacted that way with you. It made him feel content that she seeked your comfort when she didn’t feel well. “You’re being so brave, bubba.”
“Piggy cuddle?” She asks, peering over Luke’s shoulder to check whether the smushy dog was following along behind them.
“Yeah, piggy can cuddle with us too.” Luke reassures her, his lips brushing her cheek in a soft kiss.
It wasn’t long before Luke had dressed her in a clean, thin tshirt — knowing her cosy pyjamas wouldn’t help her fever. She was still sleeping in your room — her crib at the end of your bed, where it had been since the night she came home. The time was coming for her to move into her own room, though. Luke didn’t want to think about it — he wasn’t sure he’d be able to fall asleep without being able to look across the room and see Bella right there.
“Doggy, please.” She requests, her voice quiet beneath her pacifier as she spots the well loved dog in her crib, the material worn and limp from the amount of times it had been washed. She wouldn’t sleep without him. Luke picks him up from her crib, along with her blanket, in case she wanted it to cuddle up to. He replies with a soft ‘got it, baby’ before he sets her down on the bed.
He turns down the lamp in the corner of the room, just leaving a gentle glow, enough to be able to see what he was doing. He hadn’t planned on going to bed at 7:00pm, yet he knew Bella needed the comfort, and he was happy to give it to her. You were already sat at your side of the bed, more than happy to join in on the early night.
“Hi, you, come here.” You hold your arms out towards her, cuddling her against your chest as she yawns. Her eyes don’t leave Luke — watching to make sure he wasn’t going anywhere, that he wasn’t leaving. She’s warm in your arms, her cheeks flushed from the fever, eyes heavy from being tired even though she spent most of the afternoon sleeping in Luke’s arms.
Bella waits until Luke climbs under the warm duvet at the other side of the bed, before she pushes away from your chest and crawls in between the two of you. She rests her head on Luke’s shoulder, her legs splayed out diagonally — little toes pressed against your arm as she gets comfortable. Luke makes sure she has her dog and blanket close to her. She rubs her face against the soft material, finding the sensation soothing.
“You should go and take a shower, babe.” You whisper to Luke, noticing how Bella’s eyes had finally closed and she was drifting off to sleep. Luke looked almost as tired as Bella. He had held her all day, been at her side and let her nap on him without a break. “You’ve had her all day. She’s nearly asleep anyway.”
“I don’t want to move her.” Luke replies, although a shower does sound like a nice idea. He wasn’t complaining that Bella had been poorly, and he loves taking care of her — it just takes a lot out of him too. “Do you think she’ll stay asleep?”
“I got her,” You whisper, gently moving her so she’s resting in the cradle of your arm, against your shoulder. Luke slips out from the bed, waiting for a moment until he knows Bella has settled down again. “Go, babe.”
Luke manages to get himself into the bathroom and turn on the shower until Bella realises he’s not there anymore. She sits up from your arms, looking to Luke’s side of the bed to see where he’s gone — a cry slips from her lips when he’s no longer there.
“He’s just in the shower, Bella.” You reassure her, rubbing her back gently as she cries for him, trying to coax her to lay down again. “He’ll be right back. Come here, it’s okay.”
“Come back?” She asks, looking up at you with teary eyes. Her skin is still hot to touch, and she nuzzles into your shoulder when she lays down again, your skin slightly cooler than hers.
“Yeah, he’ll be right back.” You promise, fingers dancing up and down her back lightly to calm her down. You sit together for a few moments more, until you hear the shower shut off, and Luke humming quietly as he heads down the hallway, back to your bedroom.
“Look who’s awake again,” Luke calls out, spotting Bella sat up in the middle of the bed, her eyes immediately lighting up when she sees him. “Were you not having a good sleep? I know you don’t feel good.”
“Hug.” She whines sadly, her fingers spread out as she makes a grabby motion, not stopping until Luke scoops her up and cuddles her against his body.
“I’m right here.” He reassures her, swaying with her in his arms for a moment as she clings to him. He climbs back into the bed next to you, letting her cuddle up to him, her face pressed against his neck as you tuck the duvet around them. “My little cuddle bug.”
“Night night?” She asks, usually the phrase she uses when she’s about to go to sleep. Luke smiles at her sweetness, resting his cheek on top of her head as her eyes begin to flutter again.
“Yeah, get some sleep baby. Good night, we love you.” He murmurs, stroking up and down her back, his thumb drawing soothing circles on the back of her neck as she falls asleep. His own eyes are heavy with tiredness, but as long as Bella is comfortable for the moment — that’s all he wants.

Hero Cafe
Also on AO3
The idea for this was sparked by a recent comment Dawn_on_Fire made on AO3 on the BAMF Marinette story "Snack Chat."
⁂
Marinette looked over everything in the mini refrigerator while Tikki ran down the checklist.
"It looks like you've got everything set, Marinette," her kwami said brightly.  "This is such a sweet idea. I'm proud of you for moving past your worries to make this happen."
She closed the door and stood up, gazing proudly at her balcony's new setup. Superhero work was exhausting and took a lot of reserves. A few months back, she'd started bringing a bag of end-of-day breads and pastries whenever she was on patrol or training with any of her teammates. While they'd all appreciated it, Chat Noir had actually gotten tearful in his gratitude. Her partner was far too thin. Sure, his black suit emphasized that, but she'd picked him up enough times to know that it wasn't an illusion. She'd heard enough to know that his home life was garbage, and while she couldn't ask, it was clear he wasn't getting enough to eat.
It had taken far too long to come up with a solution that didn't involve her going out every night to feed her kitty. Lycee had gotten intense and she was stretched too thin as it was; she couldn't afford to give up more sleep if she wanted to keep all her commitments and ensure Paris' safety.
Pitching the plan of creating a superhero rest stop to her parents was easier than she'd expected, though perhaps pointing out Chat Noir's dangerously underweight physique, and likening it to her friend Adrien's, was all it took.  Her parents were feeders and caretakers; they couldn't abide underfed children.
"It was so nice of your parents to get you the mini-fridge and microwave," Tikki said. "You're not the only member of the family with great ideas!"
"We Dupain-Chengs are creative." She tickled the little red being's tummy. "And I'm sure it helps to have the literal embodiment of creation hanging around us."
Tikki shook her head. "I'm drawn to creativity, and I might boost it because we're so close all the time. But I can't make what isn't there."
Resting her hands on her hips, Marinette surveyed the finished project. It far exceeded her plans of a cooler and box of snacks, with boxes to sit on. She'd found a tiny table and two low profile chairs at a cafe that was changing out all of its patio furniture. She'd expanded her brightly colored awning to cover the entire patio, not just the corner where the food was kept.  She'd added curtains on all sides that could be dropped for privacy or protection from the weather, though she expected they'd stay rolled up most of the time. For the nights when more than two heroes were out and about, she'd added a storage bench full of blankets.  Her fairy lights had been swapped out for a larger set.
Tikki swooped over to the pseudo-kitchenette and hung up the laminated page explaining all the features of the space. Then she darted over to circle the empty rings in the new ceiling. "Let's put up your sign. Then you'll be officially open for business."
"Business," Marinette snorted, but picked up the little sign she'd crafted. "This is a philanthropic activity. I don't get paid for it."
"True," Tikki agreed. "But you do get peace of mind."
Sighing happily, Marinette nodded. "Yeah.  I do."
⁂
"Where are we going?" Chat Noir asked as Ladybug led him over the rooftops.
"It's a surprise." She couldn't look at him right now; she was afraid her giddiness would give her away. She couldn't wait to see his reaction. They were nearly there. "You'll want to vary your approach trajectory in the future to prevent suspicion."
"So it's someplace we'll be going routinely, then?" he asked, and she could imagine him tapping his clawed index finger against his chin as he followed. "New roof for meeting or training?" he guessed.
"Nope. This is way cooler." She paused on a roof where she could see both her old college and the faint twinkling of her patio lights. She had her glee under control now, and could glance over at him. "I know we've saved and met a lot of civilians, but do you happen to remember Marinette?"
His smile practically lit up the night. "Marinette Dupain-Cheng? The amazing up-and-coming fashion designer and daughter of the folks who run my favorite patisserie?  That Marinette?"
She nodded. She'd managed to stay out of akuma attacks as a civilian for the last two years, so she was frankly surprised he remembered her so clearly.
"She's amazing," he gushed. "She's so kind and brave, and she's as creative as you are. You should probably consider her as an option for a third string miraculous wielder. I bet she'd be fantastic."
She turned away so he wouldn't see the hot blush in her cheeks. Why did her partner's effusive praise please her so much? This was ridiculous! "Sounds like some kitty has a crush," she teased.
"Won't deny that for a moment," he said, completely unperturbed. "I think it's impossible to meet Marinette and not develop a crush."
"Really?" she asked, her voice squeaking in surprise at the confirmation.
"It's like a whole new law of physics," he said, rubbing his chin with one knuckle. "If you are capable of romantic or physical attraction, you will be attracted to Marinette."
"What?" Where had this come from? "Hyperbolic much?"
"Not at all," he insisted, utterly serious. "Every one of my friends who have ever come in contact with Marinette has gotten a crush on her."
He sounded so sincere, but his words didn't match up with her reality at all.
"So much concentrated energy and compassion," he continued with a sigh. "Definitely doesn't hurt that it comes in such an adorable package. She's deceptively strong, but so nurturing.  I know she'd treat a sweetheart right."
She let out an undignified squawk and tripped off the edge of the building.
Chat was snickering when he caught up with her at the next rooftop over. "So shall I add you in the crushing on Marinette club?"
"Oooh, no." She shook her head. Dating herself? That'd be a trick.
He smirked. "Aaah yes. Denial. I remember that stage.  You should just move on to acceptance. Then we can talk about how awesome she is when we're playing hot-or-not. Spoiler, she's hot."
"Are you dating her?" she asked, hoping to derail that trainwreck. "Because if you're not, it sounds like you want to."
"I wish." His amusement turned to wistfulness. "I don't dare get that close to her as my super self or my bland civilian self." He shook his head. "It wouldn't be safe for her."
"Wow," she whispered. "That's both really sad and amazingly wise all at the same time."
Chat Noir shrugged.  "I've grown up a bit the last few years."
"I'd noticed," she pointed out with a grin.
"No, I mean mentally
emotionally." Another shrug. "I was kind of stunted when we met. But I've learned."
She patted his shoulder. "Well, we're heading to Marinette's," she said. "She's got snacks for us."
His eyes were wide, and a blush kissed his cheeks.
She swung herself over, landing just before him, so she could see his face as he looked around the renovated space.
"Marinette's Hero Cafe?" Chat Noir read the sign she'd hung up with Tikki as the final touch. His mouth was open a little in awe. He crossed into the kitchenette where a little chalkboard on top of the microwave declared stew the special of the evening. She'd worked with multi-colored chalks to draw designs like she'd seen in various cafes around the city. He reached out and ran a finger over the stack of dishes and peeked into the refrigerator, stocked with energy drinks, a pitcher of water, fruit, cheese, and the pot of leftovers.
After he'd read the laminated sheet and marveled over every last detail, he turned to her. "Did you already see this?" he asked.
Ladybug nodded. "She flagged me down and shared the idea with me when she was just starting work on it.  It's
grown a lot from what she first envisioned." She shrugged. "It's probably a little over the top. What do you think?"
He beamed at her. "I love it." He glanced down at the skylight, but her room below was dark. "If she were home
or awake, I'd have to thank her profusely.  Grandly.  In true Chat Noir style." He struck a pose, then dabbed.
"You're ridiculous," she said, snorting with laughter. "And while thanking her is fine, you really don't need to go over the top."
"But
" He waved around them at the remodeled space. "She made this for us. I know she used to use this space for brainstorming and designing."
"She still can," she pointed out.
"Yeah, but
I don't think she'll feel as free to do so now.  Maybe during the day, but not at night." He rubbed at his chin. "I know what she's like. She's set this space aside for us, and I bet she doesn't even really think of it as hers anymore."
She stared at him, blinking in stunned silence. How did Chat Noir know Marinette so well?
"She'll want us to feel comfortable here without risks, so she'll probably take care of the space, and bring up the leftovers from dinner." He pointed at the refrigerator. "But she'll want to leave it for us."
"I hadn't thought of that." It wasn't true. She had thought of it, and felt the pros outweighed the cons. "Maybe she feels it's worth it? It's her way of thanking us for taking care of Paris."
Chat Noir lifted the glass cover off a platter of pastries to pluck out his current favorite, a croissant with just enough dark chocolate to make it feel decadent. "I may not be able to thank her tonight, but mark my words, I will rectify that in the future."
"There's no need to get all over the top and ridiculous about it," she cautioned.
"Pfft. I am Chat Noir," he announced. "Ridiculous is what I do."
She shook her head.  "That's what I'm afraid of."
"And Marinette deserves an extra helping of my gratitude."
"Chaaaat," her tone was a warning.
"Think she'd accept payment in exotic fabrics?" he asked.
Ladybug stared at him, stunned for approximately the fifth time in the last hour. He knew her, Marinette her, well enough to know exactly what would appeal. She found her voice after a moment of heavy silence. "I think Plagg needs to add a tag to your collar."
His luminescent eyes blinked slowly in confusion.
"You are clearly Marinette's cat."

~ Fire Lord Zuko ~
I raised my arms high, letting my dual swords come together and form a hard wall above me as I grounded my feet in the dirt. Sokka jumped up high and crashed his sword against mine, I tensed, not letting up my hold as his weight weighted down my tired arms. I stood my ground and with a final grunt, managed to force Sokka to jump backward. With one smooth movement, I parted my swords and held them to my side into an offensive position. We were both panting and a sweaty mess, paring for the past hour or two now.
“You still gotta teach me that,” Sokka said with a grin as he pointed at my dual swords and began to straighten out. He was no longer in a fighting stance, and instead, Sokka’s shoulders relaxed as he started fanning himself. I smiled and swiftly placed my swords in the sheaths that were strapped along my bare back. I took a heavy breath, trying to pace my breathing. I was tired, more than just tired, as I stayed up a lot later than I had anticipated but still woke up early to train with Sokka.
Sokka plopped onto the ground, his back pressed against the dirt, as he looked up at the ceiling. “It’s been a while since we’ve duelled like that,” Sokka spoke lazily. I walked over to him, sitting beside him. He was right; we use to train together all the time with Aang, reminding me of the good old times. Sokka’s skills have improved, and we were neck-to-neck regarding swordsmanship. “I know, I still kicked your ass,” I said back sarcastically. Sokka snickered and gave me a toothy grin, “You know I let you win, I like making people feel good about themselves.” I laughed at Sokka; this guy is something else.
“I thought you guys were supposed to be training, not sun-bathing.”
We both turned to face the entrance, to see Katara standing at the doorway. Her hands were on her hips, and I took notice of how little she has changed over the years. She still wore her hair pulled back with braids, and continued wearing her Southern Water Tribe dress with tights underneath. The only thing that changed about Katara was her more mature facial features. “You came to train with us?’ Sokka asked as he rolled over on his belly. Katara shook her head, “I came to see if Yue was here.” As she quickly glanced over to me before shifting back to Sokka.
Sokka snorted and rolled onto his back again, “And you came to check here? This is the last place she would be.” I raised a brow, curious. Does she not like training? It would explain why she doesn’t warm herself; maybe she has never learned how to Firebend properly, controlling one’s body temperature is a difficult skill. “Does she not fight?” I asked. Sokka sat up straight and shook his head, “No actually, quite the opposite. She’s a fucking monster. Last time we fought she kicked our asses so hard I didn’t tease her for a month straight.” Sokka spoke with a bit of fear in his voice as a cold shiver ran up his back.
She can fight? I couldn't help but be a bit surprised; But if she could fight why did she not use her bending to warm herself up? Is she pretending that she can’t warm herself so I can do it? That brat
Sokka seemed to have noticed my confusion because he laughed, “She is strong, fast, and a quick thinker. Yue could take us all-on with her hands tied behind her back. BUT, she doesn’t fight unless it’s a life-death situation.”
“How did you get her to fight against you guys?”
“Master Pakku asked, and she's too nice to say no to an elder. But that was almost two years ago since we’ve last seen her bend.”
I couldn't help but be confused, why would a Waterbending Master care to see a Firebender? Before I could ask, Katara coughed loudly, “Well slackers; I'm going to go recheck her room. I have to talk to her.” Before I could thank Katara for inviting me last night for dinner, she left. Maybe it's better that way; she seemed upset last night, at who, who knows, but I don't want to get in the middle of it.
That was when my mind drifted back to Ying Yue. The more I heard about her, the more mysterious she was. Who was she? Around me, she was like a bundle of happiness and innocence, yet what Sokka just told me made her seem like a killing machine
She was different. Something about her made me want to get closer and closer, like what is up with that tattoo? It didn't look like a small piece at all. If only I pulled down the dress slightly

            “So
, how are you and Mai? Suki told me about the other day.” Sokka spoke, interrupting me from my train of thought. I groaned annoyed, and it was my turn to fall on the ground beside Sokka. I covered my face in pure annoyance as I clenched my jaw, why is everyone so interested in her? “I can’t stand her,” I spoke bitterly, for the first time in a while I just let the overflowing anger revolving her go. Sokka laughed, “Wow, big surprise. I wonder what gave that away, maybe the time she threw tea at your face, or maybe when you told her you would kick her out of the kingdom for the hundredth time this month.”
I let my hands slide up to my hair as I rubbed my head out of pure frustration. “I don’t hate her. At the day end of the day, I do care and hope for the best for her, just not with me.” Sokka huffed, knowing all too well what I meant with that statement. “Doesn’t help that we are technically engaged.” This time Sokka turned sharply towards me with bulging eyes, “I’m sorry, what?” I laughed at his expression, a face filled with conflicting emotions as he was not sure whether to congratulate me or cry.
“Not engaged, engaged. The council is looking for potential wives, and they think Mai is the best option.” I said, but the look on Sokka’s face told me he was not satisfied with my answer. “Mai has royal status, and we have a history. The only problem is that we can’t stand breathing the same air, let alone be in a room long enough to get married, that’s why I refuse to marry her. But regardless, I'm still engaged, just with no one.” Sokka let out a long breath, “I was going to kill you.” Sokka said as he took another deep breath. I raised a brow at him, “Why, you wanted to marry me?” I said mockingly. Sokka gave me a fake laugh before he crossed his arms, “Although we would make a great couple, I have Suki. But I wanted to make sure you weren’t just playing around with Yue.”
Within seconds I sat up straight and looked at Sokka, surprised by his blunt statement. “I see the way you two look at each other, and how you tease her. You guys might as well attach hearts to your eyes at how obvious you two are.” I could feel my mouth hang open, as I was unable to get a word out. This is it; he is going to kill me. Sokka grinned noticing my speechless stance. “Zuko, I have one question for you.” He paused and eyed me carefully, as he crossed his legs, “Do you like Yue?”
I could feel my cheeks slightly redden being asked such a point-blank question about my feelings. It was awkward, uncomfortable; I was not exactly an emotional guy. Sure, I liked teasing and being sarcastic, but this was new territory. Yet, something in me wanted to scream out yes to Sokka. I couldn't help but smile remembering the way Ying Yue’s eyes lit up whenever something excited or interested her, or whenever she was embarrassed she would smack my arm. I'm more emotionally invested in her than I thought
I never felt this strongly for Mai, and we were together for years.
Sokka smirked, evidently enjoying my crumbling composure. With a deep breath, I spoke, “I guess you could say I'm interested
” I carefully worded, unsure of whether or not Sokka was trying to lure me to my death. Sokka eyed me, giving a glance that he was not buying my ‘I’m interested’ plea. I felt cornered, not expecting us to be talking about this after we trained. With a huff I rubbed the back of my neck, “Fine, I do like her. But it’s not what it seems, sure I tease her, but I am not playing around with her. I like her, a lot.” I manage to blurt out, more than I had intended and found myself a blabbering mess. Look at me, a ruler of a nation yet a stupid five-second conversation about a girl has been stuttering and uttering nonsense.
The way Sokka was looking at me made it seem like I just asked him for her hand in marriage. However, to my utter surprise, Sokka didn't kill me.
Before I could even process what was happening Sokka gave me his hand, which I grasped. “Fire Lord Zuko, I give you my blessing. She seems to like you back too, trust me, she doesn’t let just anyone tease her like how you do.” I smiled and shook his hand, “Thanks man, I appreciate it. As Fire Lord, I promise that I'll treat her like a Queen.” Sokka grinned and patted my shoulder, “I bet you will, plus, if you ever hurt her, I will kill you.” I laughed as he leaned over and gave me a quick hug, “Make her happy.”
            I promise.
        ~ Ying Yue Jiang ~
I was utterly flustered at all the ruckus going on in my bedroom, being that my bedroom was never the hub for gatherings such as these. Toph laid along my bed with her hands behind her head, still wearing her nightwear. Suki, on the other hand, laid along the end of my bed on her tummy as she rested on her elbows. They were grinning madly as I grabbed an elastic and pulled my hair up into a loose bun. “You’re finally awake sleepy head,” Toph said. I rubbed my eyes as I looked outside and took note that the sun was shining brightly.
“What time is it?” I asked, completely stunned. Did I oversleep? I may not be a morning person, but I was not one to sleep in either. Toph snorted, “It's almost lunchtime!” Toph shouted. My eyes widen, I overslept. I rubbed my face again trying to regain my composure. “What time did you go to bed?” Suki asked.
“Zuko and I stayed out longer then I realized...” I grumbled as I yawned loudly once again, still trying to awaken fully. I could feel the bed shift suddenly, as Toph sat upwards, “You and Zuko?” Toph yelled out, while Suki looked at me like I had three heads. At that moment I realized, I messed up. I was totally not supposed to say that. “N-not like that. We went out with Aang and Katara last night, remember?” Hoping they would buy my lame excuse, however, I should've known better.
Toph let out a sarcastic laugh, “We ain’t stupid Princess.” I twiddled with my fingers, realizing that I slipped up. “So you two stayed up all night, together, alone?” Suki asked; every word she said hinting at a darker and more scandalous idea. I flushed and placed my hands against my cheeks, “No, no, no! It wasn’t like that.” I said, giving up. “We went out to see the Southern lights last night, and then we went to bed.” Suki’s mouth opened, and before she could comment I rushed in, “In separate beds!”
Suki grinned, knowing that both her and Toph were cornering me. “So. You two went out... to see the lights? And then went to bed, in separate beds, and that’s it?” Suki said, not entirely believing me. I smiled and nodded, remembering the events of yesterday. It was completely spontaneous. The last thing I would thought was Zuko and me sneaking off in the middle of the night to see the lights. I couldn't help but smile to myself, remembering how we snuggled under the lights, how warm I was in his arms

The smile on my face must have grown because I could hear Toph snickering, “She’s smiling like an idiot isn’t she?” Toph asked. Suki giggled, “You know it. So, nothing else happened between you two?” Suki pressed on. I shook my head, “Nothing happened during that time. We just looked at the sky.” I said defensively. “That time, so something has happened between you two other times?” Suki spoke. Toph laughed, “Her heartbeat is going crazy, she's hiding something.” I crossed my arms and pouted.
            “I wasn’t hiding anything
I just didn’t have time to tell you guys
” I mumbled, which was true. The past few days have been hectic, and although Zuko came to relax, we still had duties. Suki’s face lit up at the new found information, “Spill it!”
“And don’t lie or leave anything out, my detective skills are fully activated,” Toph said.
I threw my arms up in the air in defeat; these guys were never going to let this go unless I told them everything. “Nothing crazy happened
I just awkwardly thought he was going to kiss me twice and he felt up my tattoo.” I spoke, making sure I mumbled the last part. However, my hopes of quickly saying the last part so it would go unnoticed failed as Suki and Toph literally jumped up in the bed and were sitting up straight with their mouths dropped and eyes wide open. “If you don’t go into details this instant I swear I'll bury you under whatever dirt I can find in this snowy mess and leave you there,” Toph shouted.
I whined and crossed my arms, beginning to retell them of all the moments I shared with Zuko. There was not much to tell, yet I found myself talking a lot longer then I had initially thought, I guess a lot more did happen then even I realized. Not once did the two interrupt as I told them about the hand holding, teasing, and face touching. When I finally finished, they were both sitting right in front of me, fully engaged, as we were huddled together. We look like children telling stories.
It was Suki who finally spoke up after I was finished. “So, I guess the real question here is, do you like Zuko?” I bit my lip as I awkwardly fiddled around with my fingers. The truth was, I was falling head over heels for Zuko. At first, I figured it was some stupid infatuation that would go away after a day, but instead, the feelings just intensified to something bigger. I wanted to spend time with him, find out more about him, and continue being with him. “You’re quiet; you like him don’t you?” Toph asked, but to my surprise, her tone was not her usual roughness but slightly soft.
I looked up at them both, nervously playing with my fingers, “I-I do
I mean, I don’t know. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to this stuff.” I huffed, completely distraught at these strange feelings. I was such a novice when it came to relationships; my only real relationship is with work for the past three years. Suki smiled and patted my shoulder, “I told you he was handsome.” I rolled my eyes, “And you failed to mention that he was incredibly charming and sweet."
Suki laughed and crossed her arms, “Well it sounds like to me that you two are falling for each other, and this is the first time I’ve ever seen him act like this before.” Toph nodded in agreeance, “He wasn’t even this nice to Mai.” That was when I was reminded, Mai. The few times she was brought up Zuko did not seem happy, was I right, was she an ex-lover of his? “Who is Mai?” I asked. Toph crossed her arms and shrugged, “His girlfriend a while back. But it’s over so don’t bother worrying about it, Princess.” I frowned, not convinced.
They may have been over with, but if people were still asking about her and she still lived at the kingdom, then she must be someone important. Suki seemed to notice my uncertainty because she spoke up, “She knew Zuko since childhood, she is an elite member of the Fire Nation because her father was a General. Unfortunately, her father tried to revolt against Zuko’s reign, and it resulted in their family being dismissed from the kingdom. But Zuko felt bad for them, so he let them live in the kingdom on the condition that Mai’s mother continues serving as one of the painters.”
I crossed my arms and dazed out; he was sweet
despite them no longer being together he still cared enough about her and her family. A loud knock interrupted my thoughts, and Toph shouted for them to enter. Katara opened the door and looked surprised to see us all snuggled up in our sleepwear on my bed, “What’s going on over here?” Katara asked, surprised to see all the girls here. “Princess is telling us about her love adventures with our royal pain in the ass,” Toph said with a yawn as she plopped back onto the bed.
Katara’s eyes widen, and she looked at me with a mixture of emotions, the same feelings that painted her face last night. I frowned, not wanting them to discuss such matters so openly since I have yet to learn about what triggered Katara last night. Before I could utter another word Suki cut me off, “You bet, and they almost kissed, twice.” Suki gushed, remembering the details. My eyes widen, and I smacked Suki’s arm, “And I saw you two sneak out last night.” Katara added in a low tone. “We weren’t sneaking around; we're adults,” I said annoyed.
Katara frowned and crossed her arms, “Yue, I don’t want to come in between you and Zuko. But be careful.” She spoke carefully. I sat up straighter as I wanted to understand what she was trying to imply. Was this what was upsetting her last night? “I don’t know what you mean
” I said slowly. Katara shook her head, “Zuko is Fire Lord. He can’t be caught in a romantic relationship with a Waterbender, nevermind someone without a royal status of some kind.” She spoke so matter-a-factly.
I frowned as I was trying to decipher what she was telling me. “But Zuko’s mom wasn’t royalty.” Argued Toph. Katara let out a long breath, “She may not have had royal status, but she was the granddaughter of the Avatar so she earned the respect that royals would usually have had.” Toph shrugged, “True enough, guess you’re out of luck Princess.” Before plopping back onto the bed. I was not so easily content with her response, “So, you want me just to ignore my feelings?” I asked, slightly annoyed. Katara huffed and shook her head once again, “I'm not telling you to ignore your feelings for him, but contain them, both of you. I don’t want you two to start something that can’t last.”
Suki frowned, seeming also dissatisfied with Katara’s opinion. “Sure Yue may not have royal status, but she does here. It may not be equal, but it's something.” Suki proposed. Katara shrugged, “I guess, but it doesn’t change the fact that she's a Waterbender.” I could feel my lips pucker up and my annoyance build within me, “What does my Waterbending have in regards to my relationship?” I asked. Katara’s eye twitched, and I could tell she was beginning to get annoyed with my inability to let it go, “Because Fire Lord can’t have the next heir to the throne be a Waterbender!” She said annoyed.
“We aren’t even dating, let alone planning for offspring!” I rebutted back. Katara rolled her eyes, “That’s the point. These are things that he has to think about, regardless of how new the relationship is.” I huffed, not pleased at all by her attitude, or this conversation as a whole. “Is this what was upsetting you last night and you had to talk about to me so badly? Is that why you brought up Mai, his ex-girlfriend, at dinner?” I asked angrily. Suki looked at both me and Katara, noticing that the argument was starting to escalate.
Toph looked utterly baffled, “Although you have a point Katara, bringing up Zuko’s ex during dinner, that’s low.” Katara threw her arms up into the air, “You know, I'm just trying to prevent a train wreck from happening. That’s it. So enjoy being Zuko’s plaything for the remainder of his time here because you two will never happen!” She shouted. With that, she turned on her heel and stormed out the room. I looked down at my lap, gripping the blankets tightly.
Plaything, is that all I am to Zuko? Suki reached over and gently touched my hand, “Yue, although I think Katara brought up some important things to think about, Zuko is not one to play with people’s feelings
” She started. Toph stood up and began walking towards the door, “Katara is calm until pushed. But unlike you two, I think Katara is right. Don’t start something that won’t last. Just enjoy the romance. Or
”
Toph stopped before opening the door, “Prove us both wrong. Make us eat our words and regret ever doubting you two. Be the couple that everyone gossips about. Be the couple that everyone wants to be. Prove to not just us, but the world wrong, and make sure they never doubt you two again.”
~ Katara ~
I stormed into my bedroom and shut the door roughly behind me. I messed up. I should have never said those things, the look on her face. I sat on the bed and held my face in my hands, but she does not get it. They can’t be together. My head shot upwards as Aang opened the bathroom door, worried. “Sweetie, was that you who slammed the door?” I nodded my head before drowning myself back into my thoughts.
Aang frowned and quickly rushed over to my side, kneeling before me. “What's wrong? You’ve been like this since last night. You haven’t spoken a word to me. Did I do something wrong?” Aang asked as he cupped my hands. I huffed and looked at Aang. “It’s not you. It’s Zuko and Yue.” I said.
Aang looked at me confused, “What about them?” he asked, not understanding what I was trying to get at. I groaned, “Did you not see them during dinner last night? The way he touched her shoulders and neck or the way she teased him and looked at him? That is the look of lovers, the look we give to each other!” I said upset. Aang stood up crossed his arms, “I'm sorry, I don’t get your point. Shouldn’t you be happy that your sister and my best friend are interested in each other? That they look at each other the same way we do?”
I groaned before slamming my hands against my knees, “That’s the problem. They come from two different worlds. How is a Fire Lord, ruler of a nation going to tell his citizens that he is marrying a Waterbender with no royal blood?” I asked. Aang frowned and rubbed his neck, “The same way I would tell the world that I am marrying you.” He said. My eyes widen in surprise as Aang continued to talk. “When the war ended, I tried to force people to go back to their nations. But you showed me that the war caused changes. That the world is no longer divided into four nations, but a mixture of the nations. You made me realize that if I forced people to go back to the Fire Nation and others to stay at the Earth Nation, I would be no better than Fire Lord Ozai. I would be separating loved ones.”
I crossed my arms, “But we're different
” I tried to argue. Aang shook his head before he gently cupped my cheeks, “Even if there happened to be another Airbender out there in the world, and I could have kids with her to ensure the linage of Airbenders, I wouldn’t do it. The truth is, I'm completely in love with you. I prefer to lose everything than lose you. So what makes you think Zuko wouldn’t do the same for Yue?” I closed my eyes and rested my head against Aang’s chest.
Aang chuckled before gently kissing my head, “You're my voice of reason.” I mumbled against Aang. Aang chuckled, “And you are the reason why I work hard, I work to make sure the world is safe, not for me, but you and our future.” I pulled back and smiled, “I guess I should go apologize to Yue.” Aang nodded, and with that, I stood up and walked towards my bedroom door.
As I turned the corner to go down her bedroom hallway, Sokka bumped into me. I couldn't help but cover my nose at his stench, “You stink!” I complained loudly. Sokka grinned and walked down the hallway with me, “Zuko and I just finished practice. Actually, crazy story. Did you know Zuko is engaged with Mai? Well, not en-”. I could feel my blood run cold as I stopped dead in my tracks, “Engaged? He is engaged?” I asked.
Sokka looked at me confused, “Yeah but-”
“Thanks, Sokka, talk to you later,” I said hurriedly before I rushed back to my bedroom. All reason was gone, I was not going to let Zuko hurt my sister, over my dead body.

The Point
Mama told me not to swallow the pit of my cherry or else a big ol’ tree would grow right inside my belly. She told me that the deep red color made my lips look like Gran’s and that they were beautiful. I picked up the tiny fruits, one at a time, pulling off the green stems and piling them on the wooden steps. Mama sat in front of me so I watched her do it first. I ripped mine apart, turning my fingers pink and wet. I could see the little pit peeking through right in the middle. I ripped it out with my teeth, gnawing off all the little pieces that stuck to it, and spat it right in front of me as hard as I could. It hurt my mouth. She slowly turned back and looked at me with her big brown eyes and a smile. “Mama gonna getcha!” She growled at me as she squeezed me on either side. She tickled me red juice dribbles.
It was our first full day at The Point and we came in so late that we didn’t have time to get groceries, so cherries were all we had. There was a stick of butter left in the refrigerator, along with some squished old Wonderbread and a can of Krunzhmann’s Smoked Ham. Pop had probably left them.
The Point was my great grandpa’s house when he was a little boy. His family grew up, all together, in this tiny house with one bedroom and one other room that held the furniture and kitchen stuff. No one can stay in the winter anymore because there’s no heat and the snow here gets really cold and deep, so Pop opens it in May for the summer months and me and Mama always come here to work after my school gets done. Mama works. I work more like part- time. The place is full of dust and old pictures- it gave me the creepies when I was little, especially after Dad stopped coming with us. He met a woman named Sherry and they have two girls together now, Shiva and Lillia. They sound like puppy names to me. Shiva would bark more. I see him once a month for strawberry milkshakes and a hug. He knows I like the cherry on top and extra whipped cream, so he gives me his.
I remember Dad telling me stories about the pictures of Pop and his old friends. They are covered in dust and rusted-golden picture frames with warped glass covering the black and white figures. I would sit on his lap at night before bed and he would bump me up and down on his knee, telling me how many places Pops had traveled, how the blueberries that grow here are magic, and how the biggest fish in the entire world lived in the lake right outside. “He looks out for you when you’re out there swimmin’ like a big girl,” he’d say, “you can’t go out past the McDermott’s place or else he’ll come nibble on those toes!” I liked my Dad a whole lot even before the milkshakes.
After we finished our cherries, I sat on the back porch and tried to tie two stems together in my mouth. I always heard that was a sexy type of thing to be able to do, but I could never imagine how someone’s tongue could be capable of such a thing. Mine wasn’t. The back of my throat felt like it was tearing apart and the stems tickled the side of my tongue. Ripples of waves slowly moved towards the shore, just a few feet away from our deck. I could hear my tummy gurgling over the faint sound of the bird clock chirping inside, but I held it tight with both hands. I bet there were a hundred Bluegills out there in the lake just swimming around looking for breakfast, too. I don’t think they can eat cherries, or the pits.
Mama and I left at five after nine to walk to town. The hills seemed much bigger than last summer. They were extra turny and the morning wasn’t fully gone yet so the clouds were stuck all around us, hanging on with all their might. Mama tells me that at night the clouds come in real close to hug us and keep us warm, just like a blanket. I don’t know if I believe her but I like the idea of extra blankets at night. I always get cold.
“What kinda tree is this, Magpie?” Mama asked me as she let go of my hand and walked towards a dark green furry kind a few feet away from the road.
“How in the heck should I know that? It’s a green one, Suza, that’s what kind it is. A fuzzy green one that is not awake yet so he would appreciate it if you’d stop touchin’ him, thank ya very much!” I told her right back. She gets mad when I’m sassy to her but she woke up with big eyes this morning. That’s usually a good sign.
“Miss Magapoo! You little devil, sassin’ your Mama first thing in the mornin’. Should’a left ya in Chapin!” Mama picked off a piece of the green fur tree and brought it back to me, sticking it right up to my nose. It smelled sweet, like most of the air up here.
“Peeyeew!” I shouted at her. She knew I was joking and she laughed right back at me.
“Hemlock, Miss Magpie. He’s got some wide needles, round ends,” Mama said as she bent down next to me, holding up the needles to my face real close, “and if you flip ‘em over, you see he’s got two kinda white lines here.”
“Hemlock. Hemmmlock!” I said, making up a song to help me remember. Mama always asks me about trees and I can’t remember them all. There’s so many up here so I try to make ‘em into songs or memories somehow. Like the Oak- I fell off of it smack dab on my bum when I was four and cried so hard I threw up all over myself. Mama wouldn’t dare let me forget that one. We don’t have the same kinda trees in South Carolina, so it’s hard to keep ‘em separate.
We got to Tawny’s Market and I picked out the pink lemonade. I like the kind that looks like a jar because who doesn’t love the smack sound it makes when you yank off the top? I asked Mama if we could get summer sausage and she said we’d have some at Pop’s later. I always peel off the skin around it, the slimy clear stuff gives me the spooks, but the inside is nice and salty. We checked out and I helped put our food into the totes that Mama had brought with us. We ran into Tawny on our way out. She’s one hard lady to track down on a Saturday morning.
Tawny had long brown hair that came almost all the way down to her butt and was tucked into one fat braid that swished side to side on her back as she walked. She saw us walking towards the bakery and opened her mouth wide, giving us big eyes and spreading out her arms. She jetted towards us full- speed. She smushed me with her fanny pack as she hugged me all kinds of tight and kissed my forehead.
“Welcome back, so glad to see ya, Mags! Come down and visit anytime. We’re makin’ zucchini bread tomorrow if you wanna come help out while your Mama’s at work!” She was always real nice to me every summer and I usually came to visit about once a week when I got bored of Tommy Joe. She and Mama hugged and talked for a few minutes while I sat on the wooden bench right next to the bulletin board full of advertisements for lawn care, dog walkers and babysitters. I never understood who would just pick up somebody’s information at a market like that, but a lot of the flyers had been torn off where the tags stuck out.
I wanted to ask for a jelly doughnut but I knew Mama would say no. Tawny used fresh raspberry jelly that was just the right amount of sweet and tart. Whenever I would disappear for an hour or so and come back home with a bag of sweets before dinner, Mama wouldn’t even get mad that my tummy was already filled up. She liked treats, too.  Tawny is TJ’s Mom and one of Mama’s best girls up here. They grill together sometimes and drink cocktails with booze in ‘em when me and TJ play sticks in the woods, or things like that. Tommy Joe is my best friend or something. I guess he’s my best friend when we’re in New London, so for three months of sunshine. It’s the same starting over every year.
Mama has been working at the Toy Museum down the street ever since I can remember. Great Grandpa started collecting old antique cars and gadgets when he was a swinger and he kept ‘em all there. It’s made up of a few big garages jam- packed with old cars, creepy toys with painted faces, and a whole lot of spiderwebs. Uncle Don runs it now, since he lives here full- time, and helps Pop, who can’t do all that much heavy stuff anymore. Uncle Don is Mama’s older brother. His wife died of cancer two summers ago and ever since then, he only smiles with his eyes. He’s got one great big wrinkle that fits right across his forehead when he makes smile- eyes, but that’s all. Aunt Jill died of the same kinda cancer that took my Gran. Something happened to their lady parts. Uncle Don used to have real nice dimples on his cheeks, but they’ve been lost for a long time now. Auntie Jill had been sick ever since I was four, so I don’t remember her without a quilt on her lap and pink hat keeping her smooth little peach-head nice and warm. Her head was darn well near the softest thing I’d ever felt.
TJ’s family lives three driveways down from The Point and his grandparents are friends with Pop. They used to own most of the North parts around the lake and Pop owned the South ones. Mount Kearsarge was the divider, smackdab across from our deck, way up in the distance. You can see the big hump of the mountain behind the clouds if you look at the right time. Our back wooden deck points right at the mountain, like an arrow, and the whole lake sweeps down and gouges into the land on either side of us. It’s like we get the best seats of all and the mountain points right back at us.
After we got home and started unpacking our groceries, Mama said I could go find TJ to play before lunch. I laced up my new white keds that I’d gotten two weeks ago since my last tennis shoes were destroyed in the giant mud pocket that I found near my school three weeks before we’d left. I went into the bathroom and put sunscreen on my face since my nose always turns pink when I don’t wear protection in the sunshine. Tawny told Mama that it was supposed to be hot today, and she always knew the weather here exactly right. I smeared Coppertone right on my cheeks and nose while standing on my tippy toes and looking in the mirror. I could only see a few white and blue stripes of my shirt, since I wasn’t tall enough. This was my favorite shirt, with a stain on the bottom right from a cherry pit that got away.
I grabbed my bike and started pedaling through the gravel to Tommy Joe’s. My face was still kinda sticky so I felt little smacks against my cheeks when I flew through the clouds of gnats. It was wide open around the house before the driveway took me into the woods for a while, leading out to the main road that I took to TJ’s. It had rained a few days ago so the sand- filled gravel was thicker, like gum was stuck to the bottom of my tires. I was out of breath as soon as I turned the corner to TJ’s house.
The difference between the Point and TJ’s house is that they live there all the time, and we only live here for a few months. His house is dark green and about the same size as the Point. It’s just TJ and his Mom so they don’t need much room.
“Hey Tommy Joe! It’s me, I’m back here for ya!” I shouted as I dropped my bike next to his front porch and ran up the steps. The screen door was open and I knocked real hard on the chipped white painted part of the door. “It’s me- Maggie Smith! I’m back here for TJ!” I didn’t hear anything so I walked in and saw TJ on the couch playing some video game. It was beeping and speaking in video game words that I couldn’t much understand.
“You could’ve answered the door,” I said to him.
“Hi Mag. Sorry, I’m finishing this,” He called back at me. His voice was deeper than I remembered and his nose looked bigger. His lips were pink and his skin was the same caramel that I remembered. I felt my chest get tight and roped up, as I stared at him shaking his Nintendo back and forth as he forcefully pressed the keyboard, like someone threw a rock and tickled it at the same time. My mouth got all wet and melted.
“I can come back later, It’s okay” I said to him, turning around and walking out towards the door again.
“No, Maggie Smith, you come back here. Give me five seconds, I just need to finish level four with King Archibald,” he said to me as he ran up to me and grabbed my arm, pulling me back to sit on the couch next to him. He smelled salty and looked kind of sticky. I wondered if he’d put on sunscreen this morning, too.
“That feels nice,” he said to me as I followed my finger along the side of his hair down by his ear.
“Your head got bigger, Tom. How can you be so stupid and still have such a big noggin?”
I looked over his shoulder for a few minutes as his little video game soldier fired away at dragons, crawled up stone walls and eventually found King Archibald.
“Finished!” He said, “Wanna swim to the bank and look for frogs? I haven’t found any yet since it’s been kind of cold here.”
“Sure- I don’t have my swimsuit here, though,” I told him. I usually wear it under my clothes, but I didn’t think we’d be swimming right away. And I don’t like how it feels on my bum when I bike.
“Here- just take this off,” TJ pulled at my shirt, so I slowly peeled it off to reveal my white camisole. It was too big for me, so it hung around. “Are you wearing underwear?”
“Yeah I am, yuck- why wouldn’t I?” I hadn’t worn underwear all day yesterday. It felt nice to have a breeze.
“Come on!” TJ said as he ran out of the living room letting the screen door slam right in my face. I grabbed a green and purple splotchy beach towel that hung on the coat hook and followed behind him, holding it tightly against my chest.
He ran all the way to the dock and started taking off his shirt and his shorts. By the time I’d made it standing next to him he was bare chested. He was wearing whitey tighties that sat right on his hips. I never really knew the difference between boxer briefs and shorts, but apparently there is one. I saw the bulge between his legs and thought about what it would be like to touch it. I never understood how those things just fit all neatly right in there without popping out on accident. Like they just fold up when they’re supposed to. I think TJ saw me staring at him because he started fidgeting. I could feel my face getting hotter and I looked down at the rippling waves.
“Take off your shorts, come on,” He said as he kicked his pile of clothes and walked towards the edge of the dock. TJ dunked his foot into the water, sending a shiver through his body. He looked like he’d been electrocuted from the foot upwards. “Jesus Christ! Come here Mag!” He shouted at me, holding his crotch and pattering on his feet, one at a time like he had to pee really badly.
I unzipped my shorts, tossed them right on top of Tommy Joe’s pile of clothes, and scooted up to grab his hand.
“On the count of three. One, two, three- come on!” Shouted TJ as he fired himself forward, bringing me along into the greenish water. We sprung a few feet from the dock and both came up for air.
“Woooo! This is way too cold!” I yelled, with my lips quivering. I could feel my goosebumps coming out and kicked my feet extra hard in the water.
“Here, I’ll race you to Gull rock, it’ll get us warm!” Gull rock was the big boulder a few hundred feet away that had perfectly carved holes in it for us to climb out of so we could go searching for frogs in the marsh along the shore over there. We had to climb through a pile of rocks if we didn’t take Gull. I started throwing my arms, one after another, turning my head as fast as I could. TJ and I collided and I scratched his leg with my fingernail. “Sorry!” I said, but water was coming in and out of my mouth so fast that I’m not sure he heard a word I said.
When we made it over there, TJ climbed out first, adjusting his boxers so they didn’t collapse on him. He reached down and stuck out his arm to help pull me up. The rock was slimy and my toes scrambled to find the right holes to push myself up on. My face felt hot and the sun toasted us as we bent down, crawling around in thick grass and muck to find creatures. We always found these tiny little green frogs with brown splotches on them and fat double chins.
“Find any?” TJ hollered at me after a few minutes of silence. It was always a competition with us and whoever found the first one usually won, no matter how many more they found after that. My feet were making squaking squish sounds as I suctioned them out of the muck, like I had to fight to get them back even though they were mine.
TJ spurted forward towards a shrub and dove into with his arms in front of him like he was ready to grab something. “Holy Jesus, look at this! Yeeehaaa!” He screamed as he clasped his hands real tight together. “Comere Maggie!”
I teetered my way over to him, trying to keep from falling face first into the mucky grass. “Let’s see ‘em” I said, planting my two feet hard. TJ slowly brought his hands towards my face and moved his thumb down just a tad to show two big eyes and a beating chin. It’s mouth was sort of orange looking and it had two little lines that marked what should’ve been it’s nose, but i’m not too sure frogs have noses anyways. He was a real cute one. I stuck my fingers into TJ’s and touched his slimy back, it was slimy and just the right amount of bumpy.
“Let’s take him back with us. I wanna keep him, look how cute he is- what a nice lil’ guy,” TJ said looking around, “Should we make him a raft or something? Can he swim?”
“He’s a frog, Tom, he can swim better than you!”
“Shut your trap, Maggie Smith, let’s go. Here, you take him.”
I reached out my hands, cupping them just enough to take him without poking at him too much, and walked back to the rock. TJ jumped in first and I slid my way down, skidding my bum on the rock.
The water felt much warmer now. I floated on my back, holding our new friend cupped snug in my hands while I kicked breaststroke. I learned how to do that in swim lessons- I’d been taking them ever since I was about four. TJ was probably swimming fast again but I didn’t mind. I was happy to be back here. The clouds were moving real speedy, and they looked extra puffy. I always wondered if they felt like Marshmallow Creme to touch. That’s how I imagined them.
I kept kicking, looking back every few seconds to make sure I wasn’t going the wrong way or something. I was close to the dock and I saw TJ standing their waiting, his feet dangling along the surface of the water.
“Almost there! Here, take ‘em,” I said to him, turning towards him and coming up straight. I reached my hands up and plopped him into TJ’s, climbing back up the ladder onto the deck next to him. I brushed the droplets of water off my face and shook my hair really fast.
“Maggie. Look.” TJ’s voice turned higher, like the boy I’d known for the past nine years. I looked over into his hand- cage and got mine ready to catch the leaping frog as it came out. He lifted up his hands to show a lump of a frog, no leaps, no beating chin.
“What happened?” I asked TJ
“I think he’s sleeping. He’s just tired from the swim is all, Mag.”
I swallowed hard and felt the sun all the way in my throat. I couldn’t look at it again so I told TJ to put him to bed somewhere else. TJ said okay and ran him back into the woods near his house while I stayed on the dock. He put the frog down by a tree and scattered some leaves on top of him. I sat down on the deck and wondered when he started falling asleep, I couldn’t feel it in my hands or anything. I knew that asleep meant dead, and so did Tommy Joe, but neither of us wanted to say it. TJ came back over and sat down next to me for a few minutes, but neither of us had anything to say.
When I stood up, I wrung the water out of my camisole, sending it dripping out onto the deck. TJ’s face froze and he wiggled his lower lip like he was trying to fight with it.
“Maggie? Are you okay?” TJ asked, looking down at my legs. I looked down, too, and saw a few red dribbles down my leg.
“Is that from the frog?” I asked TJ
“Um, not unless you hurt him”
I knew that Gran and Aunt Jill had died because of problems with their lady insides and I hoped I would never have that stuff.
“I’m dying, Tom,” I said quietly.
“Do you want to take a nap? Maybe you’re tired, too” He said.
TJ brought me out a blanket and a pillow from his bed. We layed on the deck and he traced his finger along my forehead. He was right, it did feel nice. If this was the way that I was going to go, it couldn’t be too bad.
“Tell Mama sorry I couldn’t make it to dinner with Pop tonight. Bring me some summer sausage on Sunday mornings instead of flowers, just make sure to take the outside part off.”
I’m coming, Gran, I’m coming Aunt Jilly, I thought as I closed my eyes tight. I could feel freckles growing on my cheeks and nose from the sun. Maybe i’d start to look like that frog, with splotches and orangey red all over my face.

BTS reacts to you waking up crying over a silly dream
Tumblr media
Hiyaa snoopy ! ^^
Aaaaawh that’s kind of sad though :(. How dare that child to steal your turtle and put in the blender :o Luckily it was all a dream though and your plushie is fine. jeeeeeej! I once cried because we couldn’t take our dog on vacation and we always take our dog and so when I woke up I cuddled the heck out of him.
Anyways I hope you like it and I will send positive vibes your way to keep the bad dreams away. Sorry for the long wait though!
Stay healthy!
(It’s the day today! about 2 hours left until the bbma’s begin. I can’t watch it though because I will be asleep and I love my sleep. I will probably will get overwhelmed with the feels in the morning. Not probably, I am sure I will. Let’s cheer them on and show them lots of love. But the most important is that they will have fun right? :)
Seokjin
‘’You really dreamt that?’’ Seokjin asked in shock. ‘’And that’s why you were crying?’’ He asked again this time a little louder. You nodded your head fast, still not believing it was a dream because to you it felt so real. ‘’Ah y/n.. why?! I need my beauty sleep and you’re here crying over an ice cream that fell on the ground after you tried to eat it! AND it wasn’t even real.’’ Seokjin whined, throwing his back on the matress, pulling the sheets further over his body, turned out the light on his night stand and tried to get back to sleep, murmuring you ruined his beauty sleep.  You just blinked at him, eyes adjusting to the dark again as you asked:
‘‘Can we get some ice cream?’‘
Tumblr media
Yoongi
We all know you shouldn’t wake him up for someting so silly and especially after you got him concerned.
“I told you it felt so real. Byun Baekhyun just totally ignored me when I visited you. He just walked past me and didn’t even gave me a freaking glance after I greeted him. Politely may I add plus I flashed him my brightest smile and he just
just walked past me. Can you believe that?’‘ you told him, still in disbelief about what happened. Focusing your gaze on Yoongi, you immediately looked the other way, biting your lip in fear when you felt the irritation radiating from his body. ‘‘But you know who cares. As long as my sweet, kind, talented and very handsome boyfriend will greet me than I am the happiest woman in the world. Yup I don’t care at all. Pffff who cries about someone ignoring you? Not me. No I wouldn’t’‘ You quickly added, laughing nervously. ‘‘Now sleep tight sweetheart! Love you.’‘ after that you lay back down on your side, your back facing Yoongi as you beat yourself up in your mind.
‘‘She is unbelievable.’‘ you heard Yoongi whisper, nestling himself under the covers again as he threw an arm over your middle. ‘‘She is lucky, I love her.’‘ ‘‘Why would she even cry over Baekhyun- sunbeanim? What’s so special about him.’‘ he scoffed softly, complaining about you and him until he fell asleep,
Tumblr media
Hoseok
With his eyes half closed as he still was sleepy, he shook his head trying to process the information you send his way. You were still wiping away the tears but felt glad to know it was only a dream, thanks to Hoseok who woke you up. ‘’So let me get this straight.’’ Hoseok began, holding his hand up, telling you not to talk while the wheels in his mind were still running. ‘’You were crying because you
’’ he continued slowly, pointing a finger at you. ‘’ you had to eat the food that Taehyung and Namjoon had made for you.’’ he finished, dropping his hands in the act. You hummed in agreement as you began to feel a bit stupid for crying. ‘’Oh my gosh babe
‘’ he said, bursting out in laughter when he repeated the words you had told him. ‘’That’s to funny! I totally understand you know!’’ He wheezed, holding his tummy because it began to hurt. Throwing yourself against him, you joined him with laughing finding it hilarious too. Hoseok was totally going to mention this to the guys because it was too funny to let it pass.
Tumblr media
(I am not saying Taehyung and Namjoon are bad chefs but.. you know.. you know.)
Namjoon
Namjoon slowly awoke when he felt something on his face and when he finally was awake enough he realized you were hitting him with your sheep plushie while yelling he needed to be gone. Grabbing your hand to stop you from hittnig him, he shook you awake, whispering your name as he did so. ‘’You know my name!? No, no how the heck can you be this huge! And why can you talk?’’ you screamed, violenty shaking your arms. ‘’Y/n wake up!’’ he too yelled, flicking you on the forehead and that seemed to do the trick when you shot your eyes open. ‘’Whoa’’ was the only thing you said as you looked at Namjoon who was rubbing his forehead where you had hit him. ‘’What the heck was that about sweets? What made you cry?’’ he worriedly asked you. You looked down at the sheep in your hands and looked up again took a deep breath and told him your dream. You told him when you opened the door when you heard a knock, a giant and you meant a giant sheep was standing behind it. You had to lay your head in your neck to look at his face and when he began to talk you totally freaked out.
‘‘You’re serious?’‘
‘‘I am serious Namjoon. It’s scary to see a freaking huge sheep standing infront of your head and who can talk may I add.’‘ You pouted, crossing your arms over you chest when he didn’t believe you.
‘‘I guess you need to stop sleeping with that plushie since it will send you giant sheeps who can talk to your dreams.’‘ Namjoon snorted, plucking the stuff toy from your hands, throwing it on the foot of the bed before ruffling your hair and giving you a peck on your still pouting lips.
Tumblr media
Jimin
‘‘I turned into a spider and I followed you everywhere, crawled ontop of you whenever I could? Aaawh baby that’s really cute and weird’’ he laughed, pulling you closer to him, pinched your cheeks as he found it kind of cute that you dreamt about it. “It’s not cute” you voiced out angry as you slapped his hands away and scooted away from him. After the laughing beside you died down, you closed your eyes, ready for sleep again when you suddenly felt something crawling and tickling on yoir skin. Hearing Jimin gasp and stuttered out the word spider, you freaked out. But when you’re hand made contact with fingers, you snapped. With one good solid push from your foot, you had kicked him out of the bed, telling him he wasn’t allowed to come back in bed anymore while mumbling ‘ass’
Tumblr media
But now he was pouting while sitting on the hard bedroom floor, banned from the bed.
Tumblr media
Taehyung
He was holding you, caressing your cheek with his thumb as you were finally calming down. Taehyung didn’t know what came over him when he heard soft little whimpers in the room. At first he thought he was hearing things since he wasn’t fully awake yet but when those little whimpers turned into loud sobs, he sat up on the bed in a flash, looking down at you, confirming he had heard it correctly.
Now you had calmed down, you told him how your bicycle suddenly got wings and flew away with you still sitting on it. Knowing you were afraid of heights he tried to hold back his laughter when he pictured what happened. Imagining you riding your bicycle when out of the blue wings appeared. Burying his head in your hair he was trying so hard to not burst out in laughter where as you were still a bit shaky.
after he put you back to sleep, he laughed as soundless as he could still picturing the bike with wings.
Tumblr media
Jungkook
‘‘Like seriously, I shit you not Jungkook.’‘ you clapped in your hands for the extra effect. ‘‘I seriously dreamed that the microphones were chasing you all while screaming how you would liked if they spat or breathed in your face. Oh and
how you would like it if they would throw you guys in the air and just not catch you. You had to see their teeth and little angry grabbing hands.’‘ you shivered remembering the dream as you moved your fingers in the way they did in your dream
He just look at you dumbfounded, your words not really coming through. Jungkook scracted his head and just blinked at you. Still staring he just patted your leg before his eyes flutter close again.
Rolling your eyes, you nestled your way back under the blanket, tucked the sheet a bit higher so Jungkook wouldn’t be too cold tonight and scooted towards him, cuddling while sleeping. It was beyond belief how Jungkook was so out of it when he sleeps, it was a miracle when he woke up from your crying though.
