Persephone passed on June 12th due to surgery related complications. I was at home with her when it happened and I wrapped her up in a blanket while she took her last breaths. I wasn't ready to talk about it and I still don't really feel like I am. With each death recently I've been feeling more and more guilt. Wondering if I should have done something differently or if I could have done something more. This was never how I felt in the past.

I have officially hit caregiver burnout. I started this journey back in 2018 with Chloe and then shortly after buying my house it became a whole ordeal with a revolving door of cats. I've loved every minute of this and I'm not going to be done with hospice forever, but my mental health needs a break. So, on that note we’re closing the door to any more cats for now. It might be a few months before I’m ready or it might be a few years, but either way I think I’ve earned a well deserved break.

My stupid problem son Ludo has expressed a constant desire to explore outside of his enclosure, and against my better judgement, I let him loose on the ranch with supervision.

Ludo had a strange fascination with the Slime Science machine, and stared at it for an unhealthy amount of time. I believe this is because his singular braincell overheated after witnessing it.

He was allowed to gaze upon his much more intelligent, crystaline cousins, then proceeded to bonk against the wall several times.

He then proceeded to get stuck in the pond, like the sopping wet idiot he is.
