okay this is gonna be a long one buckle up

1 - they were in a show called que talento! (yes with an exclamation point) and they were basically playing themselves if they went to high school and were still amateurs lol i really liked the theme song but only the show version bc the studio version sounds awful sorry bruno i know you produced it but it sucks

2 - out of the core four (and ben) i have to say uma is a huge fav for me, probably my 3rd favorite character of the franchise. when i heard china anne mcclain was back on disney channel to play her i was sooooo excited and i can't imagine anyone better for the role. i love that she has such a strong sense of justice and community even if her ways aren't necessarily the best. obviously i love that the franchise makes sure to let us know she and mal are two sides of the same coin and if they weren't both so proud and stubborn they'd be friends, but i like that uma isn't just a carbon copy of mal like they're very much two different characters. uma is driven by collectiveness and she cares so hard about everybody it's almost aggressive and she's such a great example of leadership on the isle (as acknowledged by both ben in d2 and mal in d3 (and as a side note i'm obsessed with mal, ben and uma's dynamic and i could ramble on about it for the next 10 years but that's not the point)) and if i don't stop now this is gonna turn into a mal vs uma analysis

3 - i really really love the idea that mal and uma are exes. like to me that's just canon and no one is gonna tell me otherwise bc it doesn't contradict anything! "and how would you know, mal? you've never had [a boyfriend]" so in my head she could have dated uma idc it was probably quick and messy bc they would have this toxic power struggle which ultimately ends in mal not letting her join the gang. i think they would absolutely kill each other as a couple now bc of how similar they are but as exes? hell yeah that's a vibe

as for present day relationships i'm a fan of harry and uma getting together at some point in the future bc lbr those two are in a weird situationship lmao i also love jay and gil!!! very unexpected but jay realizing how jaded he's become after seeing the beauty of gil experiencing things with such wonder and then deciding to do a gap year so they can travel the world together is something that can actually be so personal

4 - oooo so rise of red. here's the thing. i'm fully expecting this movie to be bad sdjdshjdjhsjdh i'm mostly worried about these seemingly amateur writers they got. like. even if descendants is its own little fanfiction thing let's at least try to make things coherent inside its own universe. the fact that they all went to school together defeats the purpose of beast UNITING THE KINGDOMS but well anyway let's see what they're gonna do

i like jennifer phang as a director though! she did two eps of cloak and dagger (one of which is 2x01, one of my personal favs) and the pilot of secrets of sulphur springs, so i know she's competent. and mark hofeling is coming back which is GREAT bc changing the production designer would be a terrible move for a spin-off partly set in present day. i just wish kara saun would come back to do the costumes but oh well

BUT I WILL ADD TO THAT LIST OF THINGS! I also love how the au's aren't that far removed from canon. Like. A secret relationship when they're living together in s3? Yes please! It's not too crazy to think about model!sam x vogue!kurt, swimmer!sam x kurt , & jock!sam x cheerio!kurt. These tropes all take from things that are canon, which is something that I love. You don't have to change a whole character and their interests to write stuff.

Bestie, on the moment that made me realize I ship them... I'm sorry to say this but I used to... really not like Hevans. Like before I came onto Glee Tumblr, I used to lurk on Glee Instagram and whenever ppl posted about Hevans on there, I was like "Okay... and... what's even the point" (but then again I didn't ship any crackship/non-canon ship at the time). BUT OH GOSH then I joined the Glee fandom on here... and I remember searching through the Hevans tag bc #yolo & after scrolling past the third gifset, I was like "Fuck, I think I ship them now."

On top of that, I think what really got me hooked wasn't the canon scenes (although I do love those so much), but it was the thought of how much they would help each other grow as people. Like if you look at Kurt and Sam, they are both rocks for people in there life and are always there for them... but they don't get much of that reciprocated. Like we don't see Kurt asking for help with things he's struggling with past s2x06. AND! That's especially seen with his father's health problems. Sam has been through family troubles too, he knows how hard it is to ask for help and I think he would encourage Kurt to open up to people and not internalize all of the pain he's going through. And okay this part is canon, but Kurt helped Sam so much when he was homeless. Like Kurt was selfless enough to go out of his way and help out Sam when he was at his lowest, that shit gets me right in the heart. I just think they would be great for each other and encourage each other to be the best versions of themselves.

My favorite canon moments would probably have to be when Sam fought Karofsky for Kurt and deadass everything in season 6. On fighting Karofsky, I know that Kurt doesn't need anyone to defend his honor, but try to look me in the eyes and tell me it isn't fruity to get into a fistfight for a guy that you've just met. Like Sam barely knows Kurt, but here he us throwing punches in the locker room. It's just all in how much Sam must have cared about Kurt to do that for him.

And on the s6 scenes..... OH BOY.... Hevans should have dated in s6. Like okay okay 1) that scene where they're talking to everyone about a plan to bring Rachel back to New York. How Sam keeps on looking at Kurt.... and they way they turn to look at each other.... wow I love them. Oh and dear God, I die a little bit every time when I see that shot where Sam brushes his hand across Kurt's arm... please kiss already. And idk man just the thought of Sam and Kurt hanging out after work (maybe at the Lima Bean) and coming up with a plan to help out one of their friends get her life back on track. They're both such caring people and work so hard to make those that they love happy.

- Kurt babysat Stevie and Stacy alongside Quinn.

- The reason why Kurt wasn't in that video about how great Sam is, is because Kurt put together something special for him that was super personal. It's a list of reasons why Kurt loves Sam... they're broken up at the time so Sam seeing how Kurt wrote "loves" instead of "loved" makes him fight to get back together with Kurt. So not only does this list of things give Sam motivation to not give up in life, but he also gets a boyfriend out of it.

- Kurt helped Sam touch up his roots and trimmed his hair.

- Branching off of what I said earlier about Sam and Kurt meeting at the Lima Bean to conspire about how to help Rachel, they played footsie underneath the table. And it took all of their strength to not reach over and hold each other's hands on top of the table... bc they didn't know if their relationship was at the point yet of holding hands so casually.

- Kurt bought Sam those soda and candy flavored chapsticks from Claires. Kurt ended up loving the scents of some of them and stole them for himself... but Sam could tell right away that Kurt stole them based off of the flavor of his lips.

- They're both huge Taylor fans and made sure to go to every show together, even when if they were on a break. (This is based off of Kurt's love for female artists & Sam's love for country).

- Carole knew they were dating before they told anyone about their relationship. Burt sensed there was a new boy in Kurt's life, based off of how he was acting, but didn't know who. Carole could tell it was Sam because of how Kurt always suddenly wanted to hang out with Finn when Sam came over to play video games.

- Kurt helped Sam get some modeling jobs through his Vogue connections before he quit modeling... Isabelle absolutely adored Sam and wanted to hire him on as a full time model.

Ok I’m about to get real talkative, we’ll leave the obvious one for last;

Denethor/Finduilas/Aragorn: LISTEN. Listen to me. This ship? God tier. The fucking... angst... the drama... the ‘two men of equal mastery and great competative spirit who both love and cannot stand one another and the woman who rages between them’ is so so good it’s SO good. And Aragorn LEAVES? And the sense of loss and betrayal? And Boromir being two when he DOES? And Finduilas dies far away and when Aragorn returns to a (living) Denethor he both recognises and cannot see the man he knew but it’s PAINFUL loving each other alongside bitter blame and without Finduilas being there for it. It’s painful!! AND COMPELLING.

Tar-Telperien/Ciryatur: In my own very specific version of these characters they are BOTH butch lesbians and Ciryatur is a he/they lesbian who has like... another name because Ciryatur is a title but ALSO he just kinda takes that title as his full name because it just WORKS for him so well so he’s always just called Ciryatur. And they are just... an unfathomable power couple in the time just before Numenor went south. Tar-Telperien not wanting to reinforce the resentment festering within Numenor for their elven friends by asking her people to die for them, Ciryatur agreeing, but when she finally relents she still goes and does an incredible job. The COMPETANCY the LESBIANISM the QUEEN WHO CAN CHOOSE WHICHEVER LIFE PARTNER SHE WISHES AND NO ONE CAN SAY SHIT ABOUT IT so she goes down in history as ‘willful’ and ‘too proud’ I’m obsessed and here’s some art

Imrahil/Theoden: Listen, I can’t help how I react to the fact that Imrahil cried out in grief at the sight of Theoden’s body and the pall bearers actually paused for him to collapse at his side and weep with grief and then, still in tears, for him to rush over to Eowyn and discover that she’s still breathing in a kind of desperate yet commanding way. I CANNOt HELP but think about Imrahil and Theoden as young men and I cannot help but think of Theoden, alone and grief stricken after Elfhild’s death needing comfort. And I also will not stop thinking about it either. 

Gandalf/Glorfindel: no listen to me ok yes I know I KNOW BUT LISTEN, I swear this isn’t a crackship, this is entirely Lord of the Rings Online’s fault, spoilers for the most recent expansion- LOTRO creates this huge overarching plot that follows Glorfindel and his ‘Bright Company’ who were heroes in the last alliance and in the new expansion you go TOO the last alliance timeline. And you meet Glorfindel and his bright company and this elf Lendellen who’s in it. Glorfindel and Lendellen literally flirt with each other during the whole expansion, Lendellen is bashful around Glorfindel when in general he’s a fucking orc murdering machine that lusts for blood and is not ashamed of it. Glorfindel goes SO soft when Lendellen compliments him. Basically they’re fucking. Then Lendellen is needed to destroy this big stone at the top of Barad Dur or they’re all done for. The bright company all infiltrate the tower but when you, Glorfindel and Lendellen arrive Sauron’s up there. Lendellen still manages to destroy the stone but he’s captured before he can flee and Glorfindel doesn’t notice until it’s too late. Well it turns out!! Lendellen was a previous incarnation of Gandalf! And he was captured and tortured by Sauron for decades, and when he finally died the Valar wanted him to return but he was too traumatised too! So they BRAIN WIPED him and sent him back! And when Glorfindel recognised him he realised that Gandalf didn’t remember their time together and so he did not mention it in case he brought back those traumatic memories. But this is the canon reason why Gandalf is so reluctant to face Sauron up close, he is still instinctually too afraid of what he KNOWS might happen! AND GLORFINDEL HAS HELD THIS LOVING SECRET, SILENTLY PINING AFTER GANDALF AND BEFRIENDING HIM ALL OVER AGAIN FOR 2000 YEARS. SSG MADE ME CARE ABOUT GANDALF, THIS IS ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT, PLAY LOTRO.

Boromir/Theodred: Of course! The obvious one. They’re the exact same age, they have so much in common, they die for the same reasons, with the same sentiments, they love their countries and accept that in one another, they know not to deny each other pain, the way it enhances both of their stories, the way it slips into present canon like a glove, the way they are each other’s narrative parallel and how inherently homoerotic that is, the fact that their love for one another can mirror the love their countries have for each other, the fact that they’re just... the two reliable backbones with this life and this passion that none of their younger family members have any idea about, by their own design, but they finally crumble together and those youngers have to pick up their loads, and then later on they discover so much more of the burdens they had to carry, and everyone grows and it’s just life... and... and... and in some universe they get to find each other again... and then become the anchor between their life of war and their life of peace that they can build on, a happiness that remains good and can guide them into a new age with each other........................... I’m fine.

If you got a muscle x chub couple (one buff and one fat) from each Fire Emblem game (spin off exclusive characters included) for your birthday, who’d you want them to be and why?

Not doing the spinoffs cause I don't really enjoy them in a kink capacity. (The sole exception being Hrid right now lol) Also bundled the Archanea games together and also the Tellius games since the casts overlap.

1/3/11/12: Buff!Kris x Fat!Wolf. I just love Wolf and was sad having to kill him in FE3. Glad he was recruitable in the remake and he hates the MU so I love him even more lol

2/15: Fat!Luthier x Buff!Atlas. This is such a fucking crackship of mine, but I absolutely adore Luthier. Even before echoes revealed his design, I just really liked him back in Gaiden. Atlas I was meh cause Celica group has everything covered for the most part. But echoes made Atlas so big and beefy and I love it. Plus, making big Atlas a mage is something I love so Luthier teaching him popped into my head and now I kinda ship it lmao

4: Buff!Shannan x Fat!Oifey I guess?. Idk what it is about Genealogy, but I can never think of a gay pairing when it comes to it. I blame the game being the absolute most heteronormative (despite what gross Tumblr fujoshis say) and me playing it back when I vehemently tried to make excuses about how I possibly couldn't be gay sksnsk. Also, I just kinda don't care for 2nd gen.

5: N/A. with the lack of supports and also how kinda small the story/text is (plus it being focused on a few characters) Thracia just feels like it's filled with the most nobodies/fillers. It gave me Salem and Deen who I love but the characters I enjoy just don't interact with anyone else.

6: Buff!Geese x Fat!Elphin. I am still eternally sad that these two do not have a support together despite Geese being the one who sailed Elphin after the asassination attempt. Plus, I just enjoy them individually lol

7: Fat!Eliwood x Buff!Hector. Couldn't think of any other ships I actually care about

8: Buff!Cormag x Fat!Artur. Big kinda gruff but pure hearted knight with chunky timid mage. I MEAN, how could I not

9/10: Fat!Pelleas x Buff!Tibarn. This is just me keeping old ships back from highschool in a deep place in my heart. I still have really old as fics that are absolutely nothing and those'll never get published cause they're awful agsjsbjs

13: Buff!Frederick x Fat!Robin. Same exact reasoning as with Cormag/Artur. But it's doubled cause Frederick is already a hunk of a man and he's just so gentlemanly

14: I'm tied with like two lmao. Buff!Saizo x Fat!Corrin or Buff!Corrin x Fat!Kaze. Saizo grew on me right away cause I hate how much the characters kiss the MUs ass in every FE game. Plus he's pretty buff and kinda tsun so him being secretly pampering of Corrin is cute. Kaze I love too (I miss his fates VA😭) and after using a tanky Corrin in BR Lunatic, he just was such a tank and now big beefy Corrin being super protective and pampering of Kaze got stuck in my head.

15: Fat!Byleth x Buff!Seteth. At this point, I'm pretty sure it's not a secret that Seteth (and Flayn) are like the only 3H characters that I can without a doubt say "I enjoy them as a character and feel they fulfill a proper role in the narrative". Byleth I can't imagine anything besides a twink or with some heft. Plus I enjoy fandom drawing Seteth more meaty than he is lol

I think the moment I laid eyes on him I was in it for the long haul. Everything just works for me. Plus we share the same birthday, coincidence? Probably, but it's cool.

3. Noelle

This girl just really makes me proud for her. I adore her development and growth. I look forward for what's to come.

4. Gauche

Yeah he doesn't usually make these does he? What can he say, he's grumpy, and a little selfish, a little rude, but he cares a lot.

5. Grey

She's shy, I'm shy, it just works. So I mean I'm totally digging all this recent focus on her. I'm happy, and waiting for more.

6. Nero/Secré

What the hell do I call her now? Is it a Eugene/Flynn thing? Anyways I just really like her tragedy. Sometimes tragedy can be beautiful. I hope she's okay right now.

7. Yuno

Oh look at me finally stepping out of the bulls. A bit introverted, a bit reserved, I can relate. 10/10 Would comfort with a hug after the day he has had.

8. Charlotte

She demands respect, I like that. Actually overall I like her, and I'm waiting to see how exactly she reacts to the current state of things.

She's a character of love, and well I'm sentimental. Also she's got a wolf, and I really like those. Oh, and I'm curious to see where the dwarf stuff goes.

10. Klaus

You ever see a hen who hatches like duck or goose eggs, and starts raising ducklings/goslings who quickly outgrow the hen, but the bird still sits atop of them keeping them warm. Klaus is the mother hen, and well chickens are great in their own right. Cluck away Klaus.

Why am I so slow are writing this all up? Anyways I don't think I have enough ships I actively excitedly ship to make it to ten I'll try, but let's see what happens.

1. Gauche x Grey

There is a lot of potential, and I'm a happy little shipper currently. Thanks Tabata. It all started down at the underwater temple, when we find out what Grey really looks like, and Gauche thinks his old reliable 'Golly my precious sister's photo will refresh me a huh a huh,' with his cheeks all flushed. He thinks he's slick. He's really not.

Now these recent chapters have got a lot going on, and the stakes are certainly raised where. Nonetheless me being me zoomed on Gauches's gentle 'Hey...Grey,' after her very desperate tackle. Mmm good stuff. That interlaced backstory of their's, good stuff. I think they can really bring out the best in each other.

2. Yami x Charlotte

Charlotte just loses any semblance of composure, and Yami bless his dense heart. I mean she spent years getting disappointed by all talk men, and along comes Yami effortlessly at her most vulnerable. He spent years just having to deal with all the nasty comments that he just expects that most people won't have a positive opinion of him anyway. They'll get there one day.

3. Asta x Noelle

Cute. Okay so I have a feeling he kinda already really likes her, but he just doesn't know it yet. He's so stuck on Sister Lily he doesn't realize what kind of feelings Noelle actually stirs in him. I say this because of his eyes. When Asta is at his most content, most joyful, just complete bliss his eyes are just, so big and round and bright full of happiness. At the star festival he officially says, 'I guess I like Noelle quite a bit,' but more importantly his eyes are just so big and bright. He also has the same big eyes when they're reunited in the shadow palace. It's there he just doesn't understand it's more than just a very good friend.

4. Nero/Secré x Lumiere

What's more romantic than a star crossed tragedy? How many times did they sit on the palace rooftops watching the sunrise/sunset discussing hopes and dreams and wishes and the future? What if it was futile because they'd never allow the prince to marry his servant? What if she was, so enamored with him, but he didn't notice because of his work? What if she couldn't bring herself to say that she always loved him before he was gone foever because it'd hurt even more? She was so willing to die with him to never be separated again, and in the end it would be the last time she'd hold his hand, or hear his voice after five hundred years of waiting and watching.

5. Nozel x Dorothy

This is admittedly high on speculation and I'm not really that serious about, but I mean you don't really blab to a total stranger about some super secret family uh secret that is hush hush practically no one knows the real cause of your mother's death because devil curse, right? There's gotta be a high degree of trust there especially when you send your youngest sister you've tried to protect in some discombobulated way to her, right? There's gotta be at least a friendship going on, but with such clashing personalities it seems interesting. Also you know how judgemental he is towards Yami and Jack, and stern with Rill, and you'd think he'd reprimand Dorothy for all that sleeping she does at all the important meetings too. Why is she the exception?

6. Yuno x Noelle

This is pretty much a crackship. I don't really expect much from it. They're intereaction was pretty interesting, and it kinda looks like we'll get some interaction if they work together, but with a lot more to prove this time around.

Hmmm I think that might be it. I kinda fizzled out in the end there, whoopsie sorry. Were these strange lists? It was pretty tough thinking about it all just because I kinda just accept things as they happen, and enjoy it all no matter what. Oh well, that's just how it goes, anyways thanks for the ask.

OK, So @aquilalorelei asked me a bunch of these on messenger, but the post I was making got deleted, so I’m just saying FUCK IT and doing the whole damn thing in a text doc.

1. If you’re an author, how many WIPs do you currently have? (Be honest!)

The answer to this is either 1, ~10, or >30 depending on your definition of WIP. If you consider a fiction currently midway through publishing, it’s the first. If you mean already begun writing? It’s about 10. If you mean ANYTHING IN PROGRESS, it’s over 30.

2. What’s next on your ‘to-read’ list? (Fan fiction or otherwise)

Still haven’t gotten around to “Looking at the Lights.” (Pete “Gas”’ Biography) It’s been on my to-read list for about a year now.

3. Do you prefer canonverse or AUs?

Canon-Divergent is my bread and butter. I like them to at least start somewhere in the realm of canon. If it is going to be an AU, it can’t start there. Like, you wouldn’t catch me dead in a coffeeshop or university fic.

4. What fandom’s/ship’s fan fiction do you read the most?

WWE Universe, and pretty much anything goes, but especially Zowens and anything with Shane in it.

5. What’s a crackship you love?

Does Tazz/Michael Cole count?

6. What’s the last thing you read that made you laugh?

I really don’t emote when I read. I’m much more of a pictorial person.

7. What’s the last thing you read that made you cry?

8. Bed sharing or roommates AU?

Again, straight up AU? Not my thing.

9. Fake dating or arranged marriage?

Neither. I have a very specific trope that my dream-brain likes to spring on me (repeatedly) and it features in at least THREE of the dreams I’m making stories of.

FAKE CONSORT

Basically, person (A) is of a royal or ruling status. Person (or couple) (B) is of a lowly servant, slave, or an even lower class. Person (A) then takes on Person(s) (B) as a “Consort” which allows them to take a higher place in society, although in reality, Person (A) and Person (B) are not actually having sex.

Well, that’s always how it starts out, anyway…

10. Mutual pining or enemies to friends to lovers?

I think the correct answer here is whatever the hell Sami and Kevin have going on.

11. Kid fic or childhood friends?

Ewww, kids are gross. Nope. Moving on.

12. Friends with benefits or secret dating?

Friends with Benefits, when it comes to reading others stuff. Almost all of my fanfic falls into the realm of “Platonic Soulmate”, so neither apply there.

13. Exes or established relationship?

Established relationship. If there’s love, I don’t care about how they got there, just throw me into cuddleland

16. Describe your WIP that currently has the highest word count.

There is a *saga*, a six story epic that I’m in the process of re-writing from scratch. It’s about a woman who finds herself in a cycle of constantly resetting universes that somehow all seem to revolve around her family and the McMahon family. At the point I had decided to rewrite the saga from scratch, I was at 57,106 words between 5 stories, with the Sixth one not even started yet.

In the rewrite? I’m starting chapter 5 out of 10 on story ONE… and I’m at 7,922 words.

17. Describe a fic that is still in the ‘ideas’ stage.

OC finds herself on an adventure with the 13th Doctor (Who) and Team TARDIS where Mick Foley, ripped from his natural timeline, has been brought into the far future by a descendant of Triple H and Stephanie to star in a “New Golden Era” of Sports Entertainment. However, in that time period, Pro Wrestling is a mere shade of what it is now and, using only fan knowledge and a bit of backyard experience, OC joins the promotion and becomes champion (much to the chagrin of Team TARDIS who was on a damn mission.) Whovian Hijinks Ensue.

18. Do you have a fic reading/writing routine?

Sleep until wake up. Write when in the mood. If mood interferes with sleep, write until pass out. Then start cycle again.

19. What’s your favorite character headcanon?

Shane McMahon learned Chinese during that CEO gig and can speak it coherently whenever he’s in the mood to be a little shit. It’s a thing, OK?

20. Do you have a favorite fanfic or author? If so, tag them/post a link and share the love!

I’ve probably read “Tethered and Chained” and ”Wherever You Are Tonight” a hundred times by now. Reading them over and over was key for finding my voice for my own Zowens fic. Absolutely awesome Zowens fics and if she ever felt like writing more, I’d sprain a mouse-hand clicking it.

 Anyway, that’s it. I know this isn’t how ask games are supposed to work but nobody ever sends me asks and there’s so many fun games out there!

Hey there, for the fic ask thingie, whats your opinion on #5, #7 and/or #19?

5) (Favorite crackship) Only one I can think of is Gaige/August. Although I ship Rhysha, I *do* want August to find someone to be good to him. Gaige wouldn’t care about August’s criminal history (she might even kinda like it) and they’re both into robots.

7) (The last fic that made me cry) It’s been taken down, but there was a post-Avengers Endgame story called “Whispers Tell The Best Secrets,” where Mantis’ empathy powers make her feel overwhelmed by the grief at Tony Stark’s funeral. Peter Parker shares the humor of a happy memory he has of Tony with her, and she shares with him the pride Tony felt for him. <3 Would have been one of my first Fic Recs if it stayed up.

19) (Favorite character head canon) I plan on portraying Fiona as Ace if I ever get around to writing her Fiends to Fire companion story. So, there’s that.

mind sharing your riverdale top 5 ships and top 5 characters?

Ok this was hard! Sorry for the delay, anonymous friend. Also, I haven't seen season 4 though I'm aware of spoilers. So:

Ships, in no particular order:

Jughead x Sweet Pea - unsure if this is just a rarepair or what people used to call a crackship, idk. Anyway after they got off on the wrong foot in early s2, I was hoping to see them get closer, at least become better friends, but this show forgets about my son Sweet Pea!!! I also enjoyed their clashes over Serpent stuff and was hoping to see more of them (+ Toni) making decisions together

FP x Alice early on in the show, when it was hinted that they had a history and season 1 kept using FP's appearances to surprise us (first he's Jughead's dad, now he's a figure from Alice's past? Alice???). I loved the mystery there! Everyone in this town has secrets!

Reggie × Veronica in season 3, I was rooting for them even though I knew the show wouldn't make it long term because Reggie isn't a ~core four~

Toni x Jughead because I liked their dynamic when they first met, and because if Serpent leadership HAS to be a monarchy, wtf? Toni is right there? Yes it's weird that Jughead the new kid got named leader at the end of the season, but someone young and brand new won't be stubborn when co-leader Toni wants to get rid of ingrained traditions like that silly dance. 2x11 also shows that Jughead can screw up but listen to Toni's criticism eventually

Betty x Veronica because Veronica was SO COMMITTED to Betty immediately. In episode 1, I kind of hoped when Betty moved on from Archie she might be into Veronica. She was so hurt and angry when Archie and Veronica kissed! Veronica was so desperate to fix their friendship which was 5 minutes old! This could have been such a great slow-ish burn!

(Speaking of slow burns, is it just me or should Toni and Cheryl have gotten more time to have that? S2 had 22 episodes, they could have spent a few more scenes on the getting-together part. Right?)

Honorable mention to Sweet Pea & Josie because I thought they were cute and hoped their fling would stick, but I respect a girl who knows her priorities + a boy who knows his emotional needs and sets boundaries. Also to Joaquín & Kevin because they were cute and my heart broke for Joaquín during his conversation with FP (another FP surprise, at least for me, because I didn't suspect Joaquín of being a spy when he seemed so genuinely into Kevin). Finally, Betty & Jughead because I found their getting-together arc in s1 sweet even though I kind of? Wasn't expecting it? I thought you guys were bros? Oh well. The show spent a lot of time on them and I ended up caring a lot.

Characters:

Toni: loved her immediately and was kind of disappointed that she and Jughead weren't able to restart the Red & Black because the teacher got arrested then their school got shut down. That would have been great for college applications lol but I also would have liked to see the paper come back as season 2 unfolded (how would their stories compare with Blue & Gold articles?).

Her being into true crime is something that I wish had come up more, instead of a thing she and Jughead bonded over for 5 minutes while it was relevant to the Black Hood plot and then???? Then what?

This show makes me worry about Toni so much! In s3 when she was living with Cheryl and they argued? And Cheryl threatened to kick her out? No!

Sweet Pea: a couple of times in s2 it was implied he was a hothead who always wanted to fight, but these are kids. Most of them are ready to fight someone. And I wouldn't have minded in season 2. Sweet Pea can stab a Northsider, as a treat.

Anyway, he was interesting as one of the main teen Serpents, bc he had enough influence to confidently say things like, "you're not getting the Serpent vote." Despite how inconvenient his anger was for the lead characters, he was looking out for his friends and tbh, he was right. (He was also kind of right about Jughead using them for information but holding himself separately. Jughead wasn't obligated to hang out with and like everyone, but he made friends quickly w Toni and this was her main friend group; he was going to be required to meet them sooner or later.)

Despite being the first person to WANT to fight, he mostly listens when his friends try to stop him. His friend-telepathy with Fangs is the best.

I LOVED his conversation with Josie, when he said he liked her and couldn't be casual with her anymore. That's so healthy and honest! I love him

I'm sad he disappeared, but at least I can't complain about how people treat him.

Jughead: his narration is occasionally a but much for me but that's the show, right? I loved his little aside/daydream in 1x04 about how maybe the town would rebuild the old drive-in in 100 years and wonder about them. And his narration about there being only 3 teens sitting in the booth at Pop's, the first time the main 4 all sit together.

I ID'ed so hard with him being technically part of a larger friend group even though he really only considers 2 of them his friends, also that bit early on in s1 where he's sitting in the bleachers w his laptop, alone in a crowd and unimpressed? Lol

He seems like a kid who holds a lot back to protect himself, but he keeps forgiving his dad and he was initially happy that his mom and JB came back to Riverdale. Like, he's so cynical but he just wants to belong somewhere and be accepted!

Anyway once he decides you're his people this kid does shit like: Have meals with Alice. Help set up baby showers and school dances. Get blackmailed into delivering a mysterious box for a shady lawyer. Meet with a rival gang so they can beat him to death

note: Drautos time-travels and is an absolute bastard. I like seeing his and Regis’s exchanges!

For want of some patience, Ifrit never freed Ardyn from Angelgard to rebel against the Astrals.

For want of Ardyn, Nifleheim never invented MT Troopers.

For want of MT Troopers, Lunafreya and Ravus were able to escape with Regis, and Nifleheim never cornered Lucis in their war.

For want of a kidnapping, Luna, Noctis and Prompto were able to work together to get ready for the prophecy, and Ravus is ready to suplex an Astral to make sure someone survives the prophecy.

For want of separation, the four of them go to Angelgard to figure out what secrets lay there, and accidentally adopt Ardyn into their plans to save the world.

For want of 2000 years’ prep time, Ardyn’s going to have to get up to speed on the modern world fast if he wants revenge or to fulfill his half of the prophecy.

note: has a good deal of worldbuilding and linguistics nerdery. I like that. I also like the recovery element of Ardyn’s arc.

5. What’s a crackship you love?

As a crack ship gfdkgsd oh man, my heart is set on Blinky/Strickler on that one ahaha. I already adore whatever dynamics they have together on screen - or even when referencing one another!! And honestly I think they’d make great friends!! Heck they could bond on Roman pennies, and mechanical engineering (seeing as Blinky helped build Jim’s Vespa, and Strickler made a super accurate replica of Merlin’s amulet) and don’e get me started on the quick witted beautiful back and forth they’d have

Once tried writing a Good Omens AU with all this in mind, but never quite had the energy to finish it. Let’s face is the two of them have great Aziraphale / Crowley energy haha  

10. Mutual pining or enemies to friends to lovers?

Oh man oh man, mutual pining. It leaves so much potential open!! Heck even the enemies to friends to lovers could happen within the umbrella of mutual pining (especially if one of the two isn’t ready to admit to their pining -wink- ) 

That and I’m just a sucker for two people being so equally into one another but just, not quite having the confidence to learn how the other feels. It’s so juicy and can be played oh so deliciously in so many fun ways!

19. What’s your favorite character head canon?

Weeeell there’s certainly one HC I’ve been hinting at for quite some time and have been meaning to make a proper post about - but here is what I’d like to call the Meat and Potatoes (super lean edition) of the Etruscan Strickler HC ヽ(o♡o)/

(please keep in mind I’m not a qualified historian, or anthropologist, or archeologist - but an avid lover of history )

So the Etruscans and the peoples of Etruria have been around for a loooong time, in fact there are some who believe the Etruscan language is one of the building blocks of many italic languages. And for a good amount of centuries they thrived! 

Then Rome happened, which was perhaps inevitable seeing as they were on the same peninsula - and because of that the size of Etruria changed depending on which century map you’re looking at. And although at some point Etruria spanned from Umbria to just grazing into the region of Lazio - its biggest consistent chunk existed in what we know today as modern Tuscany.

Because of this I should perhaps make it clear that I believe Strickler came out through the fetch after 32BCE during the already decline of the Etruscan language (in which Etruria is already absorbed and occupied by the Roman Empire). In fact by then only a select few, unless they were Etruscan, knew the language Marcus Terentius Varro for example, the Roman Emperor Claudius (though he probably learned it from his first wife, Plautia Urgulanilla who is believed to be Etruscan).

Now I hear what you’re probably thinking: But his/ his familiar’s name is Waltolomew Strickler? That’s not very Latin sounding for a name. 

 And you’re absolutely right!

However, Etruscans (despite occupation and absorption into the Roman Empire - and more so before) were known to be seafaring, trade was very important from Egypt to what we know today as the Greek islands and to the northern coast. Import and export was important and (as well as fighting pirates, but that’s a very fun wiki rabbit hole to fall through another time haha), and with trade comes awesome exposure to other cultures and other peoples from that culture! 

Case in point the vague similarities and non similarities between certain deities between the Roman Greek and Etruscan Pantheon! Of course each pantheon has its own variants and deities that don’t exist in another pantheon, as well as different takes on certain heroes i.e the Greek Heracles, and the Etruscan Hercle -which through a lot of found art, is perceived to be a very popular hero for a number of reasons. 

I could also go into the account of Etruscan soothsayers being well praised even by Cicero - but that’s another rabbit hole for another time - as well as a reason I like to indulge in the fact that Strickler can come across as rather superstitious at times! 

But I’m getting off topic XP TRADE we’re talking about trade, and it was important be it Egypt to the Balkans 

And with that in mind it isn’t impossible for a Northern Germanic man to fall in love with an Etruscan woman.  

1) women were treated far better in Etruria, as opposed to Rome and Athens. In fact Romans thought they were more promiscuous because of how freely and equally they were treated. 

 2) Germanic tribes treated their woman on a similar level of equality. 

 3)   As a culture of partnership, heck we are still discovering more and more about the Etruscans but we can make educated guesses through their sarcophagus covers (the reclining lovers and so on). This celebration of life lived even in the face of death. 

Very on brand Strickler imo, and if we from history can see how they treated marriage in death we can assume how marriage was treated in life. As loving and equal as possible. In short Strickler grew up with that respecting women juice (at least compared to Roman and Athenian standards) 

So name wise, Waltolomew Strickler can come from the Norther Father’s name. Vel for short, as names beginning with ‘w’ aren’t very common in Latin, Etruscan, or Italian. In fact if you go to Italy today and introduce yourself as idk, William -  there’s a good chance they’ll pronounce William as [Vee-lee-am]. 

However in Latin the use of ‘v��� often replaces the ‘w’ and ‘u’ sounds. u = v and a double u = vv (aaay get it?) And just like that a VValtolomevv is named haha

Enter the name Vel slowly over time becoming Walt over time. I could go on for paragraphs, but I know I explained the whole congnomen thing in Terpsichore, I’d have to re-check and I fear this is already getting…ah…crazy long so I’ll try and wrap it up ^^’’

Initially the real Waltolomew was supposed to be left in the woods to die at the mercy of nature because it didn’t look like the infant wouldn’t survive anyways, but when they went back to check in the woods to find who we know as Strickler the host family Strickler saw it nothing short than an auspicious miracle of the gods, or that their child managed to strike a deal with Vanth (a death god), there’s a lot of theories between the family members to try and explain how Walter’s survival is possible - but all the same Waltolomew is raised in a rather loving family!  

There’s the quiet and slightly distant Northern Father (who is occasionally homesick) and mainly tends to the olive grove. The Mother that settles the finances. Eventually Roman payments became too steep, the Northern Father racked up a bit of debt and was sent into the army…the Northern Father never returns presumed dead in action. The resentment of Romans grows even more in the Strickler household because of this. 

Which is one of the reasons why later in life Stricklander chooses to occasionally pass as ‘British’ aka one of the peoples the Romans couldn’t occupy and conquer, as opposed to siding with a people who absorbed the population of his home peninsula that would later be known as Italy.

 In fact I believe after being forced to work at Hadrian’s wall (which was a laughable failure, although as a Cesare Hadrian was well praised), and returning to find his host family home repossessed by Romans Walter would flee to Gaul (another location where Romans couldn’t conquer).

It wouldn’t be long until the Romans called on a 13 ½ year old Waltolomew to enter into the military just in time for the Hadrian’s Wall debacle. Where Waltolomew grows a respect for the peoples of the British isles for being able to hold off Rome for so long and so much. Afterwards he returns to the peninsula to find his home repossessed by Romans, his grandmother having passed, and his mother and uncle closer to the port and not doing so hot. This spurns Strickler’s dislike for Romans more, an incident occurs, and Waltolomew flees to Gaul (another area famous for being able to hold off the Romans), but this time to join the Gumm-Gumms

I wanted to add my thoughts as to why and how I came to the conclusion of this HC but like I said this response is crazy long already so I’ll keep it short (for now) to: That classic ‘Roman Nose profile’ of his, the pale olive skin tone, the vague roman/greek helmet he has in his office, how his Italian VA did not do an English accent in the dub, and - uh, well, I like the idea of it haha

I have now rewatched half of season 3 of Violetta and here is a summary of my thoughts:

I do find it interesting to see the parallell between how Priscila treats Ludmila and how she treats Violetta. When Priscila’s real self slips out around Violetta, she immediately tries to apologise. Violetta however, sees through this rather quickly. I find it interesting to see the difference between a child growing up with a loving parent and one with a manipulative one

Also, GERMÁN SEEING SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH LUDMILA 😭 AND CARES SO MUCH ABOUT HER 😭 IT’S SO SWEET SHE REALLY DESERVES A FATHER LIKE THAT

I know everyone says Diecesca is their otp couple or smth but ????? I’m sorry! Listen, they are a lovely couple! They are cute! But... I also feel like Diego put a lot of pressure on Fran

She was VERY clear she did not want to hide the relationship and he was like ”We have to hide it” and then suddenly says ”Ok we have to tell it’s not easy for me either” and then GOES BACK to telling her ”We can’t tell”.

He also told her multiple times they could just break up if she didn’t like lying?? Which is????? What

But Fran also did the same sometimes. It was like, when one of them didn’t want to lie the other one wanted it, and vice versa.

I have concluded that Naty is, most definitely, in love with Ludmila. It has always been clear but this girl tried to kiss her

I find it hilarious that Leon compares Violetta and Roxy to how Vilu felt about him and Tomas. Because, actually, that’s kind of accurate?? (No hate on Tomletta shippers but when I rewatched season 1 I got the feeling that Vilu always picked Leon first and then when they were on bad terms she drifted towards Tomas. Much like how she drifted towards Diego in season 2)

Everyone has lost a braincell this season except Jade, who somehow has gained one

I was always confused if Federico still lived in their house this season or lived somewhere else, and I have realised he still lives with them, and it’s kind of awkward because HE NOW HAS TO SHARE A HOUSE WITH HIS ON AND OFF GIRLFRIEND

I also wondered the reason why the main students had another kind of scheduele, and then I got my answer very early on: They have another scheduele and is kind of the special class

Ok - Gery is NOT as annoying as I found her as a kid. She was just fine before she started hanging out in Leon’s garage

I do however love how Violetta and Leon friendzone Clement and Gery all the time

I actually think Gery and Clement take just the right amount of screentime. Unlike Jade and Matias, who I feel just take up time we can spend on others, Gery and Clement have, at least right now, just about the right amount of screentime.
