I truly don't get people who dislike young Alicent. Like, adult Alicent has some questionable moments and isn't squeaky clean. But young Alicent is so clearly a victim of her father manipulating her and pimping her out???? Like??? How do you hate young Alicent???

A Tully Knight wearing the fish of his house screams agony as his leg, twisted at a morbid angle, is stuck in the mud. Squires pull off the helmet of his opponent, a Darklyn Knight. A gray and red soup pours out from inside. One of the pages vomits. Alicent turns her head away from the awful violence. – Season 1, Episode 1, "The Heirs of the Dragon"

There's not a day when I won't feel sorry for her. He never deserved her or any of his children. Ironically, he killed Aemma for a son only to eventually gain not just one but three and neglect them. He traumatized a teenage girl for the rest of her life, using her and leaving her in the dust like she wasn't shit.

All right, I gotta bite -- "Edwin + drag queens?" XD
jasdbjdafbsd oh god this one is really not in any way, shape or form even slightly written yet but it's an idea I'm very fondly turning over in my head!
I just really want to put Edwin in a situation where, on the hunt for info for a case or suchlike, he winds up in a dressing room full of queens. I want him to be perplexed by the fact that so many of them can see him, and find the sad truth about why so many of the queens over 40 have close personal experience with death. I want him finding connection and strange fellowship with this room full of extravagant peacocks. I want him being initially bewildered by the whole situation but then having that click moment of finding his people, and proceeding to delight and indulge in a bitchfest for the ages. I want him fondly adopted by a room full of bright and beautiful shameless older queers who immediately know that he's family. And I want any onlookers (Charles) to have absolutely no idea what to do with the 8.8 magnitude cuntquake that ensues when you sit Edwin Payne down with a gaggle of drag queens. I want him to enter that dressing room with a notebook and a case to solve, and leave it with 7 drag mothers, a new understanding of himself, and a standing invite to brunch.
Anyway, as I said, I don't have much actually written for this one yet but do have this one stupid joke I scribbled in my notes app xD
"Alright, girls. Detective-themed drag names for Casper the cunty ghost. Let's hear 'em." "Sherlock Ho?" "Columbimbo!" "Oh, oh oh oh – Agatha Fistie!" Edwin: "I'm not entirely sure I understand." "Where did we lose you, babes?" Edwin: "Generally speaking, in the second halves..."

I don't feel well 😭
This can be interpreted in two ways: that he takes her hand away or he tries to make her follow the affectionate gesture and I'm devastated with both options😭😭

another thing about twilight. why is it that bella never ever seems to care that the cullens — imo carlisle especially — only care about her literally because they love edward? like of course that is majority of in-law situations in life, like i know that. but bella is like “this is my family! this is where i belong and who i belong with!” and then they all just up and leave her the moment edward tells them to. carlisle especially only seems to care about her imo (beyond the fact that he cares for all human lives) because he cares about edward. idk i would feel some kind of way about the cullens if they literally took me in and then dropped me like a hot potato based off whatever edward felt on any given day.
in a way alice is better and in a way she’s worse on this front. like okay, she and bella are best friends, that much is true. one of the things i will give stephenie meyers (because she’s nowhere near as bad as people claim. stephen king has no business criticizing her when his stories are some of the worst i’ve ever encountered) is she does create and develop actual believable friendships and relationships. bella and alice are very close and lovey dovey. but that makes it worse imo when alice abandons her alongside edward. because her friendship with bella is literally contingent on edward.
but at the same time she does have an actual relationship with bella and you get that she wanted what edward thought was best for bella’s life and she loves her and her heart is in the right place and all that good stuff. but idk. for me, if i were in that situation, i wouldn’t have taken the cullens in as warmly again in eclipse. like bella is all like “my family! we’re all together again!” when in reality i, and i think anyone with enough self-esteem, would be much colder to them. more distant and less open. because even if she’s taken edward back — because really his side of the leaving fiasco is actually more understandable than the entire family’s ditching her and then wanting to act like nothing ever happened seven months later — his family still proved that she’s merely an extension of edward to them. they’re a family, they’ve been a family for around 75-100 years. they’ve been together, functioning as a family unit town to town since before her grandparents were born. like she’s just a modern teenage girl who the one unmarried brother fell in love with and brought along for the ride. like they all abandoned her and had the whole thing with edward/alice/cliff diving/volturi not occurred then the entire family would have just never contacted her again in her life. idk. i get the impression more so from carlisle than any of the others but bella’s whole open heart, open arms thing is sadly pathetic. because she’s clinging to a family that could take or leave her at a moment’s notice.
and honestly some lots may disagree but i do highkey appreciate the fact that stephenie meyers tried to rectify a lot of people’s criticisms with bella, in midnight sun. like she tried to retroactively make it seem like a lot of the “bella is a parentified child and she’s so mature because she doesn’t mind it at all” “bella takes care of her parents because she’s old for her age” was just a first person character blindness on bella’s part and it was actually really messed up in edward’s eyes the way her parents treated her and how it shaped her personality. but personally i wish SM would have included edward realizing bella has a really low self-esteem and that’s why she takes whatever kind of love people offer her without complaint and resentment even after they’ve done her dirty, not because “the cullens are so amazing” and “i’m so lucky to belong with them!”

Sooooooo I put Nix in BATIM.
TW for transphobia.
Nix is trans male. But with BATIM being set in the 1920s-30s he’d obviously not be all that respected as a man. And bro’s way too nervous to come out to anyone so he’d bite the bullet for work and only his close friends know about his identity. He’s known as “Mary Wrightfeather” at the studio.
The idea is that Nix works with Sammy in the studio as a music assistant but specifically as a vocal coach and accompanist for the Alice voice actors.
Joey thought that Nix looked relatively similar to Alice and sounded like her too so he chose him to be turned into Alice as a beta test.
We know the ink machine has a habit of making their forms reflect who they are as a person so when Nix is put into the machine he comes out as a male version of Alice and claimed as a failure.
In the game I think you’d find him in the 2nd chapter. With his naivety and his inability to stand up for himself, he’d find himself working for Sammy again, doing his dirty work.
It isn’t until the ink demon kills Sammy does Nix decidedly do what he wants and he sets Henry free before the demon can try to attack him.
From there you can find him hanging out with the Lost Ones, trying to hide and stay away from the other Alices in fear of what they’d try to do to him.
So. Ye. Enjoy the angst. Peace ✌️

Just watched Marie Antoinette and noticed the parallels between Marie Antoinette and Alicent Hightower:
1. Both of them are the youngest daughters.
2. Got married at a young age .
3.Both were queens as teenagers (Marie Antoinette was 18 and Book!Alicent was 18 and Show!Alicent 14)
4. Their respective husbands inherited the crown from their grandfathers.
5. Their husbands family (&realm) never accepted them as their own ( Both were a foreign queen under their husbands domain).
6. Were renowned for their dressing style and fashion.
7. As a young bride there was constant pressure of producing an heir.
8. Both the Queens had 4 children.
9. For both the mothers their firstborn child was also the last surviving child.
10. Had to face a Civil War.
11. Both the Queens died in their late 30s.
12. Their bloodlines did not continue for long before eventually ending.

I feel so bad for Rhaenyra. For half of her life she didn’t believe she was good enough for her father because she was not a boy, and the other half she carried the burden of being heir knowing full well half of the kingdom didn’t believe her just because she is a woman.
She tried to have rightful heirs with her husband, and when she couldn’t she found love and affection else where. She raised three sweet and kind boys that would be perfect rulers, boys that everyone loved, even her husband loved as his own. Yes, having children with Harwin was not the smartest move, but she was alone in the middle of people that wished nothing but her demise.
She constantly has to defend herself from the passive aggressive men in court that challenge her everyday but no one dares to say anything to her face. And while her son’s legitimacy is questionable, hers is not. She is the heir, the king declared it and he never once mentioned another possibility for heir, and yet people plot against her every corner she turns. Every move she makes is considered desperate, and while we know it comes from a place of desperation, they are also political moves she would be doing anyway. Every step she takes is questioned and so is her legitimacy even thought all of the court knows Aegon would be a horrible king. And even though she clearly is the king’s favorite she spent more than 10 years alone with no one defending her.
I personally don’t think I can watch her end in HOTD. My Half Year Queen will always be in my heart.
