Yum yum! Baby potatoes with cherry tomatoes. Inexpensive and easy to prepare :D
Crush peppercorns in your mortar and pestle.
Add salt, dried basil and dried rosemary. Grind to a powder.
Massage 1-2 tablespoons of extra light olive oil into the vegetables.
Sprinkle in your spice powder. Massage again so everything has an even coating.
Bake at 400°F for 40 minutes.
Gobble gobble!

Drop the recipe bestie!
I am genuinely surprised people love this so much, but it's very easy! My mom's friends on FB also asked for the recipe.
Tumblr media
I put some chicken in a baking dish and then covered it in fresh tomatoes, filling in the gaps with fresh garlic cloves. And also made some regular white rice.
Then chopped a bunch of fresh basil and sprinkled that on top, then cracked a lot of salt and pepper and drizzled with olive oil. Then put slices of fresh mozzarella on top of the tomatoes, and drizzled balsamic glaze on top of everything.
Baked it for 15 minutes at 380, took it out to check the temp of the chicken and poured the juices into some cooked rice to give it some flavor.
Then another 5 minutes at 400, and then under the broiler for a few minutes! My boyfriend put oregano on his, and we both put extra balsamic and basil on after he plated the baked mess onto a bed of rice.

Can we see the recipe for noodle shrimp gratin? Asking for a me. 🤤
Of course ^^ Just for reference, I am using vegan cream for it, but you can also use dairy. I simply have a more quiet tummy if the cream I use is vegan. So, this is a recipe for two people (if you eat it alone, you have leftovers for later). One package of cocktail shrimps (ca. 100 to 125 g) 250 g of noodles (I like to use the corkscrew shaped ones) Frozen spinach (as much as you like) 200 ml of cream 250 g of shredded cheese Seasonings: Salt, Pepper, Dill You can add whatever else you like in this. I added boiled eggs to it for example and carrots. Be creative. Make sure to seasons the cocktail shrimps and then fry them shortly in a pan (for one or two minutes). I fry them in oil, but you can also fry them in butter. Put them away for later. Unfreeze the spinach. That should be done way in advance of course ^^ Cook the noodles. It is enough if they spent five minutes in the cooking water. Now prepare a casserole dish. Put half of the noodles into it, then half of the shrimps, then half of the spinach. Season it. Do the same with the rest of the ingredients and season those too. Now put your cream over the whole thing. Make sure that everything is moist. Now put the shredded cheese on top of it all. Put the gratin into the oven by 180 C (whatever it is called on English, the hot air setting) and let it bake for 30 minutes. The dish normally comes out a little charred at the sides, but that is normal. The rest is perfect and will taste really good ^^ Enjoy your self cooked easy and quick meal!

Cimanin cake
One plain yogurt
Fill the yogurt container with sugar. Thats as much as you need.
Whisk up till sugar disolves
One whole chicken egg
Vegetable oil, bout the amount of the egg
Whisk all together until homogeneous
Add cinnamon until that shit is brown. Make it that it will be noticeable. This shit is cinnamon cake not cake with cinnamon.
Sift about two cups of flour in small increments, whisking as you go to avoid clumps. Keep going until desired consistency.
It should still be liquidy but not that it falls off the whisk without whacking it against the bowl. Kinda like whipped cream consistency, to not say mayonaisse, which is closer to the actual consistency it needs to get at but that sounds gross so cream it is.
Since some eggs and some brands of yogurt have more liquid in them for reason i dont know im not a food scientist or whatever those asshole mfs that make you pay 100k for a plate with one teaspoon of sour gloop call themselves, you may have to add a little bit more flour to get that mayo consistency.
Butter up a pan and pour your mix in with the oven preheated to 180°C (if you need farenheit use google)
Bake until the knife comes out clean. Took me like 30-40 minutes when i first made it, idk i wasnt counting.
Eat hot with lemon glaze or with even more cinnamon, fuck those shits up, add marmalade or jam theyre fucking delicious bruh

I'M ONLY GOING TO SAY THIS ONCE
I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, you can combine one 8oz can of pumpkin puree with one box cake mix (any kind but spice cake is best) and about 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, drop by tablespoon-ish onto a greased/parchment/silpat cookie sheet, and bake at 350F for 13-16 minutes
if there are no spices in either your cake mix or pumpkin puree i suggest adding warm spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves

Medic has a peer reviewed meltdown the first time he realises there's no uniformity in "a cup of ____" because every object has different densities. He's diligent about memorising the conversion rates for ounces, pounds, the most common things etc., and recovers ok. He goes through the same stages of grief rage when he finds out about distances and lengths.

One time, a friend asked me if I actually knew how much a tablespoon of flour was in gramms to convince me that metric users also make use of volume based units without thinking about them. But little did she know a heaped spoonful of 405 flour is about 15g and a level tablespoon is 10g.

Not to sound like a tradwife or anything but I genuinely believe that everyone should learn how to make bone broth (or, as I affectionatly call it, scrap stew). I'm not gonna call it an easy or simple recipe because you do have to let it simmer for 11 hours and strain it, but if you have a day off to make it its relatively low-effort and cost-efficient and also is a great base for upping the nutritional value of simple foods like cup ramen or plain rice when you're in a pinch for time, as well as cutting down on veggie waste (anything starting to wilt or scraps like carrot peelings can be tossed in there and still make a good broth)

Knitting a freehand bag and started wondering how often people even use patterns, anyway. So--how often do you use a pattern when you make things ? This include knitting/crochet/sewing/weaving/nalbinding/bobbin lace/tatting/etc but also things like woodworking, cooking, and baking. If you want to just pick the thing you do most often that's fine.
I personally do not use patterns as I find them far more confusing than just figuring out the construction of an item and simply making it. I do very occasionally browse ravelry for inspiration but have downloaded maybe 2. In the 5 or so years since I joined. And have followed exactly 1, which I modified every single aspect of. In my defense, dyslexia.

Fluffy hotcakes
Take as many eggs as you want, depends on how much you wanna make. Separate whites from yolks. I do this by hand bc its so much easier (and satisfying) to just roll the yolks a lil bit in my palms and then wash my hands. Also they get separated so much better. I see so many baking videos and shit where theres still white on the yolks and it drives me insane.
Leave the whites for later and whisk up those yolks. Add as much vegetable oil as it will need to double the volume. Like if you got a cup of egg yolks add a cup of oil. Dont be stingy with that shit. This is for shitty and old pans. It will save your pans. It also adds moisture to the mix so like even if you got those fancy expensive non stick pans, the oil goes in anyway.
Add the same exact amount of sugar. It doesnt really matter if its white or brown sugar. Sugar is sugar in this house. If its sweet, pour it in babeyyy. (Powdered sugar dont work tho, that shit got starch in it, will fuck up the batter).
Choose your milk. Any milk works. (Yes, breastmilk too, if thats what you want). This recipe has eggs so it aint vegan but it Can be Lactose Free. I use vegetable milk or lactose free milk for everything bc i dont like shitting myself, thank you very much.
Start sifting in three times as much flour. This is a 1:1:1:3:3 ratio, folks. One cup of yolks? One cup of oil, one cup of sugar, three cups of flour, three cups of milk. Im making up the measurements as i write. I dont measure shit when i do this, this is for your convinience, not mine.
Whisk up that flour in small increments to avoid clumps and add your milk as you go. Cup of flour, whisk, cup of milk, whisk, cup of flour, you get the gist.
Leave it to rest. Get those whites back and whisk them up till they form peaks. We're making sugarless meringue. Dont do the bowl upside down trick, its the sugar that makes that not slide right off the bowl, check if it stays on the whisk. If you wack if against the bowl and some of it stays stuck youre good. If theres still some liquidy shit on the bowl keep going. Its gotta be all foamy.
Check the batter, tt should be thicc but it should fall easily from the whisk when you get it out. Kinda like glue. Imagine you're whisking up glue and how slow it wouod fall from your whisk but wouldnt be stuck in it. Thats how its gotta be babes.
Wash your whisk and put it away you dont need it anymore. With a laddle nudge the whites into the batter and softy fold it in.
Once mixed youre ready to start laddling up into your pan. Dont move that shit, let it fluff up and once it stops bubbling use a spatula to flip it over.
