Chernobog - Day 90
Race: Fury
Arcana: Moon
Alignment: Dark-Law
August 9th, 2024
A lot of religions are focused on dualities- the contrast between good and evil, life and death, as these are obvious parts of life. Sin versus virtue, the entire karma system, so much of the world is focused primarily on contrast, and this is reflected just as obviously in several former mythologies as well. Ancient times were far more focused on contrast and duality, whether it be the eternal Canaanite conflict between Baal and Mot being a metaphorical representation of life and death essentially duking it out, to the very obvious examples of the contrast between Hades and Demeter. However, what I want to focus on today is a far lesser known pair of deities, both originating from Slavic mythology, specifically in the Polabian tribes: Chernobog and Belobog. Granted, Belobog will get his own entry later down the line, but a lot of the mythology between the two is very intertwined, so it's hard to talk about one while avoiding the other.
Information about Chernobog is incredibly scarce, as it was an already obscure deity made even more obscure by a lack of primary sources. However, there are at least some sources to work off of, unlike a certain counterpart... but I'll get to that in Belobog's entry. This is about the Black God. Chernobog is primarily attested to in 'Chronicle of the Slavs,' a book published by ancient priest Helmold, and one of the main sources for pre-christian Slavic culture we have. While mentioned only briefly, the book does describe the first concrete reference we have to Chernobog's cult, wherein Helmold describes a strange ritual practice the slavs undertook in regards to Chernobog. To quote,
Also, the Slavs have a strange delusion. At their feasts and carousals, they pass about a bowl over which they utter words, I should not say of consecration but of execration, in the name of [two] gods — of the good one, as well as of the bad one — professing that all propitious fortune is arranged by the good god, adverse, by the bad god. Hence, also, in their language, they call the bad god Diabol, or Zcerneboch, that is, the black god.
The bad one described, of course, seems to be Chernobog, a name gotten from literally translating Black God in Russian. However, this is just a cursory glance at Chernobog, and what we really want to focus on comes later down the line. Chernobog was a minor deity by most aspects, only worshipped (or possibly feared?) by a small people-group who saw him in conjunction with Belobog, who was seemingly a later interpretation of the contrasting deities, as a primary name wasn't given for the 'good god' to contrast the 'evil god.' My leading sentences about contrast also were a bit of a mislead, as Chernobog wasn't truly seen as evil, at least based on the paper linked above. The two slavic deities we can be sure did exist, being Perun and Veles, were neither wholly good nor wholly evil, and their clashes were less of life and death and more of ideals. They were both revered in equal measure.
This seems to pose the question; did Chernobog even exist? At least based on the source we can reference, given that Helmold wasn't literally just lying, Chernobog did seem to exist, but only as a minor deity to some small cults. Frustratingly, though, this is the only main source we have regarding Chernobog, as after this 12th century paper, it would take another 4 centuries before we got yet more references to the deity, now seeming to have taken a shift from a minor occult deity to a major one in Lusatian paganism, a then-dissolved sect of paganism during the bronze age. In 1538, a scholar named Thomas Kantzow published 'Chronicle of Pomerania,' in which he wrote this in regards to Slavic mythology.
In addition, they worshipped the sun and the moon and, lastly, two gods whom they venerated above all other gods. One [of them] they called Bialbug, that is the white god; him they held for a good god. The other one [they called] Zernebug, that is the black god; him they held for a god who did harm. Therefore, they honored Bialbug, because he did them good and so that he might [continue to] do them good. Zernebug, on the other hand, they honored so that he should not harm them.
All of this ultimately comes down to the idea that Chernobog (referred to as Zernebug) appeared to be an evil god, though his existence is incredibly mysterious and hard to track. His aspects, his appearance, almost everything about him is incredibly obscure, to the point all we can really do is cross-reference him with similar deities in similar roles, such as Set or Mot. For all we know, he may not even exist! However, this lack of knowledge does give people plenty of room to interpret him, and this does lead to one of the best designs in SMT in my opinion. Chernobog is cool. There's nothing much more to it- the mushrooms, the blade, the skeletal face, it's all an insanely badass design, with unique ideas behind it.
I think the mushrooms and the skull all point to themes of decomposition, tying into his role as the black god, and while he's not explicitly tied to death, it can be extrapolated that he is, in some way, connected to it. Sometimes, you just need a baseline idea to go nuts, and Kaneko sure did with this design. While I wish I had more to say about Chernobog itself, the god is defined by its obscurity, so sometimes less can be more.
That's a cop out, Vee-ho.
Shut up.

could you talk about black moon lilith? i see it as part of my chart but the information around it is really sparse & id love to hear your thoughts!
sure, a bit! black moon lilith is a mathematical point, the apogee of the moon's orbit, sort of like the lunar nodes which are also not physical bodies. there is an asteroid called lilith too though. actually there is a third lilith too, waldemath's moon, which is more obscure than either of these. so if they are to be all interpreted differently or all the same is a matter of debate.
there's really debate about lilith either way. some see her as a strictly evil influence, highly malefic, something that can ruin things for you. if you know me you know i don't interpret anything that way :) but she is feminine wildness, which frightens the patriarchy and the status quo to the point that, to such people, she might as well be 'evil.'
sometimes you see her relegated to the role of a 'female mars' but i think that sells her very short. she's not a war god, for one thing, although she may be a malefic in some senses and more personal than saturn tends to be.
as a side note here i do usually shy away from "masculine" and "feminine" vocabulary in astrology for inclusivity and wholeness reasons, but lilith imo is TRULY a feminine influence. which doesn't mean she doesn't impact people who are not women, of course.
but she is the dark side of femininity. and i don't mean evil, i mean shadowy and repressed by societal conventions. she's not demure, not dressed up and made up, in fact she may be stark naked rolling around in the dirt howling at the moon with her hair matted.
her influence can make people come across as insane - hysterical, like people they used to give lobotomies too, but more so because she has no fear of patriarchal repercussions. she doesn't care for conventions, traditions, boundaries, order, or even the law. which is not to say she's unethical or unjust; she has her own wild code to live by.
and of course she's based on garden of eden myths, and you can draw inspiration from those if you are going to be doing your own interpretations :) but i recommend not taking her to be the villain. she was cast in that role, but of course she would probably not consider herself to be that. she is to be approached with an open mind and heart. you can't go into this vibe with your mind already made up, and you can't let your conception of her be rigid or closed off to fluidity.
so that's a little long for an ask response lol, and hardly scratches the surface probably, but that's how i see black moon lilith personally.

"Now then, Sunshine," Hubert said, plucking a fresh sheet of parchment from the corner of his desk and readying his quill. "Tell me about this person you wish to bring into Lady Edelgard's service."
"Really, Hubert, you should be ashamed not to have heard of my dearest Sara before!" Constance crowed. She unfurled her fan purely to brandish it for dramatic effect. "Her talent for the magical arts is simply extraordinary! Th-though, no match for my own, of course…" she added nervously.
"Yes, yes, your magical prowess is unparalleled," Hubert intoned, waving a dismissive hand yet smiling fondly. "Continue."
Constance stomped her foot. "Hubert! Have you forgotten which of us is the more skilled with Morfean magic?! Anyway… Sara is really quite accomplished in her field! She is trusted with the most important clients, and many of her coworkers rely on her expertise and insight. It is marvellous how skillfully she interprets contracts of privacy law and explains them to others! And the other day, she came up with a most revolutionary Excel formula as well! Why, I believe that with the proper training, she and I could truly be Sister Sages of the highest calibre!"
"And that is not all," Constance continued on. "No no! Sara has many talents off the battlefield as well! She pens the loveliest stories. In fact, you should read the wondrous tale I commissioned her to write about our activities on our wedding night—"
Hubert choked on his coffee.
"And she draws quite skillfully also!"
"Please tell me you didn't commission a painting to go with that story," Hubert groaned, head in his hands.
"Oh, no, I mainly commission her to paint flattering portraits of myself," Constance replied airily. "One of my favourites is a particularly striking one of me against a starry sky that I'm sure you shall like to see sometime!"
"Ah, but I can see you against a starry sky any night I wish, lovelier than any painting."* Hubert smirked as Constance flushed and began fanning herself, clearly flustered.
"I— yes, well—" Constance took a moment to compose herself again. "Let me finish telling you about my dearest Sara's redeeming qualities! She is an excellent friend: a joy to be around, and her presence is sure to brighten one's day. She is funny and kind, and, dare I say, very nearly as charming as myself!"
"I see. She does sound quite promising." Hubert put down his pen. "I shall have to conduct a background check, of course."
"Is my word not enough?!" Constance protested. "Need I remind you that for all your repute as Imperial spymaster, you had not even heard of such a dazzling star as is Sara before?"
"Need I remind you who it was that brought Epimenides himself into our midst?" Hubert shot back, but there was no real fire in his voice. "Based on your personal recommendation, I shall expedite the process. If all goes well, we will send this Sara a formal offer by the end of the moon."
Constance huffed, unable to argue the point. "I suppose that is agreeable enough."
"It's settled, then. Now, I believe we have tea with Lady Edelgard to be getting to." Hubert stood and offered Constance his arm. "Shall we, my dear Countess Vestra?"
Constance took it, positively glowing at the form of address. "Yes, Count Vestra, we shall!"
* Eifie double dog dared herself to write this line.
OH. MY. GOD?! You wrote this for me..? 😭💚
Original Eifie work! So cleverly written!! Lots of references to my fic and little details about me and incredibly well-characterized! You even went out of your way to include romo 🥹
THE EXCEL FORMULA ASDFGHJKL it truly is like magic. Also I LOVE the idea that every single art work and fic I've ever made of/about Constance has been commissioned by her. That is hereby canon.
Thank you for taking me into consideration for the position!! 🙏 (Though I must admit I'm a little scared of what Hubert's background check will mean for me......)
#Ask a nerd#Sara day!!#*points at eifie*#Daily cocobert#Yes this counts.#Looking forward to possibly receiving that formal offer......... Whatever the position entails. Which I am not sure of.#Unless Edelgard needs excel formulas or a privacy consultant...#Or maybe it's spymaster hubert that needs my insight into covert privacy practices...

WIP ask game!!!
thank you so so much @hansenesque for the tag <333 !!!!!!
no pressure tags: @the-laws-of-physics-were-harmed @holdmyteaplease and @tellme-o-muse + anyone else who's interested! you're free to join (if thats how tag games work aa)
rules : answer as many (or as few) of the questions about your WIP as you can.
1. what was the first part of your WIP that you created?
the main character. fun fact: atticus wasn't even called atticus! his name was supposed to be 'calyx,' and before that, it was 'leto'! this wip has been going for almost three years, and i am very dedicated to make atticus- calyx - or leto- get the story he deserves. being the very first idea that sprang into my mind, he still remains as my favorite, and the very first thing that formed the basis of beneath the waves, since his backstory and his emotions form the majority of the wip.
2. if your story was a TV show, what would the intro song be?
hole dwelling by kikuo!! this song has EVERYTHING. the music crescendo, the scream (oh my god the scream), the lyrics eerily similar to the ideas in my wip, the soft voice, everythingggg!!!!! the lyrics remind me of my worldbuilding ['the sun, the sky, the moon- so vibrant, all of them'] AND ITS 6 MINUTES LONG. SIX. MINUTES. OF PURE BLISS!!!!!!! especially with headphones omg also the fact that the lyrics can be interpreted as anything just makes it so much fun to listen to. i take it as talking about a literal void in which people are trapped. which. which is basically
3. who are your favourite character(s) and why?
atticus :D he was the first 'serious' or 'story-based' character i made, and i had further plans for him, too. all the characters i made pre-beneath the waves had no further plans for development, or they weren't unique enough, or just made solely for the YA market (young girls, skinny, magic powers). atticus, or leto, at that time, was made purely for me, and from my own ideas. leto was used as a sort of practice for my short stories. then, leto became calyx- a character, not an entity. from there, i got the idea of an abyss. everything spiraled from there lmao
4. what other pieces of media could share a fan base with your WIP?
i got the idea of 'changing the laws of the universe' and 'interacting with the divine'-- yknow, all of those otherworldly aspects from puella magi madoka magica, a magical girl anime, childish from the start, mature at the end. it had a lot of those otherworldly elements, and i find myself leaning to the concepts explored in pmmm whenever i work on Heavenly. if the pmmm fandom somehow stumbles on beneath the waves in the future i have no idea how it'll end. theres a small chance of heavenly and pmmm sharing a fan-base, if i understood the question correctly.
5. what has been your biggest struggle while writing your WIP?
figuring out how atticus develops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! figuring out where i should end this story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! figuring out how atticus's life is gonna go from there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! figuring out how to write tbh
6. are there any animals in your story?
if you take the mariana trench and dump all of its animals into the abyss but corrupt them by taking out an eye or two for an exchange of more teeth and install fantasy elements, yeah you get the abyss's animals. there's also my own species of carnivorous fish that reside in the abyss. my customized fish species play a huge role in the story. those are spoilers (for now).
7. how do your characters get around?
they swimmmm :D with the fishieeeeees :3
8. What part of your WIP are you working on right now?
if we hypothetically take the lore, the characters, the inner workings of the plot, the events, the nitty-gritty details and backstories as the engines of the car and the plot as the outer plating and wheels, i've created a mercedes (without the wheels)
9. What aspects of your WIP do you think will draw people in?
i don't know 😭😭😭 uhh the lore-lovers will like it. i hope some theorist will pick it up one day and wonder if the author is okay
#tag games!#beneath the waves within this soul#<33#thank you for tagging me! i had a lot of fun answering these questions#i hope this q/a was longer ;-; i could talk about my wip for dayss

Character Summary: Edarien
Alias/nicknames: The most common to hear is Dare, the preferred shortening of his name. Use Ed at your own risk, he hates it. Others heard on occasion: Secariot, The Sleeper, My Lord, Boss, Sir.
Gender: Male. He/Him.
Age: 67 years; 32nd Sun of the 6th Umbral Moon (Dec 31st)
Zodiac: Capricorn (Althyk)
Abilities + talents: Skilled Practitioner of Thaumaturgy and Black Magic. He has extensively studied the thaumaturgic and void arts, in particular mhachi practice and history, especially interested in their use of voidsent, binding, summoning and banishing them.
More recently, he’s gone through combat training to acquire the strength and skill to use a scythe in the style of a reaper. His voidsquirrel, Squee, received a promotion in power to assist him better in battle. He also has studied the runic ways of the arcanist, although he rarely practices this other than to include some of the knowledge for summoning in with his abyssal and voidal practices. He never quite got the hang of healing magic.
The nature of the beast lying slumbering in his soul is an eldritch being of the Abyss and lends Edarien peculiar talents. Most of his darker magic is laced with the cold damp of the Abyss and feels disconcerting to others when he casts.
Edarien is an exceptional knitter and has a plethora of knowledge on wine making, spelunking, footwear (read boot fetish), fashion, and moonlights as the main vocalist for a little known rock band. He’s a good businessman and adept with numbers, having more than tripled the profit and reach of his family’s trade company since his parent’s passing.
Alignment: lawful / neutral / chaotic / good / neutral / evil / true
Religion: On the surface, the Secariots speak of Nymeia as their patron deity. However, this is a front to cover the fact they are part of a cult that has roots deep in duskwight history. Part might be an understatement as Edarien is very much at the forefront of this old religion, his mother having been the former High Priestess. Old…Eldritch, one might say. “There are portents in the darkness, their voices sing should you only but listen.” He’s smart enough to attempt to keep this cult affiliation to himself.
Sins: envy / greed / gluttony / lust / pride / sloth / wrath
Virtues: charity / chastity / diligence / humility / justice / kindness / patience
Languages: Fluent in common, the old Gelmorran dialect, current Gridanian dialect, mhachi, an eldritch tongue, traders’ cant, and thieves’ cant. He can read and interpret an array of runic languages, especially those related to magic. He can passably speak the current Ishgardian dialect, the dialect used in the Ul’dah area, the I tribe dialect (he employs most of them), and old Sharlayan. There are bits and pieces he knows from other languages usually related to trade and bargaining in them, such as Thavnairian, sailors’ cant, doman, hingan, and garlean.
Family: Spider (né Araignee) Secariot (brother) and Xavipere Secariot (brother). Rainimont Griseaux (husband). He is not aware of any other living family members.
Friends: Edarien’s aloofness makes it hard for him to connect on deeper levels with people. Quite frankly, he’s bad at peopling. He considers the people of Priarch as his extended family and would do just about anything needed for any of them. Some that have become closer to him are Silvain, Inwa, Talia, Rain, Idristan, and Rinalys. Strangely he clicks pretty well with Urien when -things- don’t get in the way. He has a bit of a crush on Lyrin’a.
Sexuality: heterosexual / bisexual / pansexual / homosexual / demisexual / asexual / unsure / other (The Fae are confusing, okay!)
Relationship: single / partnered / engaged / married / widowed / open relationship / divorced / not ready for dating yet / it’s complicated
Libido: sex god / very high / high / average / low / very low / non-existent
Build: slender / average / athletic / muscular / curvy / other
Hair: white / blonde / brunette / red / black (blue-black)
Eyes: brown / blue / gray / green / black / other
Skin: pale / fair / olive / light brown / brown / dark / other: Ash grey
Height: 6’8”
Scars: He has a few from fights and near death experiences littering his body. The most prominent one is the one that slashes across his face, damaging one of his eyes and making it look paler than the other.
dogs or cats || birds or bugs || snakes or spiders || coffee or tea || ice cream or cake || fruits or vegetables || sandwich or soup || magic or melee || sword shield scythe dagger or bow || summer or winter || spring or autumn || past or future
A few songs that remind you of them:
Glitter and Gold - Barns Courtney
You Should See me in a Crown - Billie Eilish
Devil - Two Feet
My Blood - Twenty One Pilots

The God-Wave and the Witness
I've recently been seeing an increase in confusion in regards to the new lore from The Witch Queen about the Hive siblings, the God Wave and the new reveals that all of it was orchestrated by the Witness.
Some even go as far as to say that this was a retcon from how it was described in the Books of Sorrow. That is incorrect. The accusation of retcons comes from a misunderstanding of both old and new lore. I want to clarify this for people who might be genuinely confused. People were confused at the time of release as well, but I thought that with time, this would become clearer? Apparently it didn't and there's still confusion about it.
The new reveal in the cutscene with Ikora and the worm is here. The same dialogue is repeated in Resonant Fury Plate lore, but with additions that I will highlight:
—-It delays our desires so that it may seek its own. These frail siblings… will soon be claimed by the Light. Unless we claim them first. Our whispers were fed to a weak mind. But we have watched these siblings. These children of the king. They are brave minds. Clever minds. Ambitious minds. Yet unsullied by the weakness of aging that plagues their kind.—-
"Then what compels them to hear our whispers?"
—-Desperation. We will tell the most cunning sibling of a cataclysm. A prophecy… of great loss. We will feed her fear. Her pride. We will say… Young Sathona. The end is coming. A great cataclysm. A God-Wave. In the Sky… there is only death. But salvation… lies in the Deep. Lead your sisters down. Your cunning will spare their short lives. And you… will be reborn. The Witch Queen… Savathûn.—-
People seem to be interpreting this as if there was a retcon about which of the siblings first spoke of the Syzygy, aka the incoming apocalyptic event on the Fundament. In Books of Sorrow:
My father died afraid. Not of vile Taox or the Helium Drinkers, but of his orrery. He screamed to me —
“Aurash, my first daughter! The moons are different! The laws are bent!”
And he made the sign of a syzygy.
Imagine the fifty-two moons of Fundament lining up in the sky. (It wouldn’t take all fifty-two, of course: just a few massive moons. But this is my deepest fear.) Imagine their gravity pulling on the Fundament sea, lifting it into a swollen bulge…
Imagine that bulge collapsing as the syzygy passed. A wave big enough to swallow civilizations. A God-Wave.
In Books of Sorrow, the Osmium King learned of the syzygy from the worm familiar and then told Aurash, the eldest sibling, about it. Aurash became obsessed with it almost as much as the Osmium King, but didn't know when the syzygy would come:
I have to find a way to stop it. Before the God-Wave annihilates my species. If I could only get back into my father’s orrery, I could learn exactly when!
This is important. At this point, nobody knew when the syzygy would strike. Osmium King was later assassinated and his children had to flee. These bits are important.
You see, the Witness acknowledges that the whispers were first fed to a "weak mind." Aka the Osmium King. The worm familiar was first his and he was not able to fully understand the whispers of the worm and he never fulfilled what the Witness wanted. The knowledge of the syzygy is still coming from the Witness, via the worm familiar, first to the Osmium King. The Witness also acknowledges that it watched his children and that they are brave, clever and ambitious, but also desperate. The Witness shifted its words to them now.
The same Books of Sorrow chapter also has Aurash acknowledging that Sathona always has a clever plan and "mad ideas" that get them out of trouble. Weeks into their travel away from home, Aurash says:
But more and more we have come to rely on Sathona’s wit. She will go off to be alone (she insists she must be alone) and return with some mad idea — steer into the storm, throw down a net, eat that strange beast, explore that menacing wreck.
Somehow Sathona seems to manufacture good luck by sheer will.
Aurash doesn't know it at this point, and the readers don't know it either, but Sathona has taken the worm familiar. She is getting these "mad ideas" from the worm. She is not manufacturing good luck by sheer will, she is being led, by the whispers of the worm. Sathona reveals this in her own chapter in the Books of Sorrow, immediately following the previous one:
1. It was my father’s familiar. I ripped it from him as we fled. It is a dead white thing, segmented, washed up from the deep sea. 2. It’s dead, but it still speaks to me. It says: listen closely, oh vengeance mine…
She also specifies that everything she told her sisters to do was directed by the worm: she says that she "knows where to find secrets," "knows where vast slow things with long memories live," "knew it [the needle ship] would be there," and that she "knows its purpose" and "what happened to the crew." She also lies to her siblings and contradicts Xi Ro who wants to sell the ship. Instead, Sathona insists that they should use it to dive into the Fundament. This is in agreement with Aurash who wants to get into the ship and command it. Sathona says:
Aurash wants to open the ship and see if we can take command of it. I know this is the right thing to do. I know because I asked the worm…
Another important part is at the start of this chapter where Sathona specifies that at the point of her writing her chapter, they've been traveling for a YEAR:
This year of wild voyaging, these lightning nights and golden days, these forays into ancient wrecks and windblown flights from monsters: these are the happiest times of my life.
Next chapter of the Books of Sorrow also states the following (Sathona speaking):
“We three will die here, in exile. Taox will outlive us. And Aurash, brilliant-eyed Aurash, you will die of old age long before you have proof of your God-Wave, or any way to stop it.”
Why does this matter? Well, a full year after the death of the Osmium King and after a full year of traveling, Aurash still doesn't have either proof of the God-Wave or a plan to stop it. Yes, Aurash first heard of the God-Wave from the Osmium King, but didn't have proof, had no clue when it would happen and had no idea how to stop it or escape it.
For a full year of voyaging, it was Sathona who was talking to the worm. The worm was telling her all sorts of things, things that Aurash believed were just good luck that Sathona was manufacturing by "sheer will." For a year, the Witness was speaking to Sathona, giving her directions, telling her how to survive, where to find the needle ship, where the Worm gods live and to dive into the Fundament.
Obviously, in Books of Sorrow we didn't know that it was the Witness speaking through the proxy of the worm familiar. But we knew, from the Books of Sorrow, that Sathona, aka Savathun, was being given instructions on the syzygy, the God-Wave, where to find the Worm gods and how to reach them in order to escape both the God-Wave and their own mortality through that worm familiar.
It's really confusing to me why people think this is a retcon. Yes, Aurash, aka Oryx, was the first sibling to hear about the syzygy from the Osmium King. But Oryx didn't engage with the syzygy or the God-Wave further; he wanted to go back to their father's orrery to learn more and for a full year still had no new information about the God-Wave or how to stop it. Savathun did. It's directly explained in the Books of Sorrow that she spent a full year being fed whispers telling her where to go.
This was further clarified in The Witch Queen, but not changed. Nothing was changed, it was just expanded that in the year of Savathun being given instructions, the Witness was feeding her fear and her pride and telling her more and more about the syzygy. The Witness also fully mentions that it tried the same with the Osmium King and that it didn't work.
Simplified order of events from the Books of Sorrow: Osmium King acquires the worm -> Osmium King learns about the syzygy from the worm -> Osmium King tells Aurash about the syzygy -> Osmium King dies -> Sathona takes the worm -> Sathona keeps the worm a secret for a year while it feeds her information the siblings need to survive -> Sathona uses the knowledge gained from the worm to lead her siblings to meet the Worm gods
Simplified order of events from the POV of the Witness: Osmium King acquires the worm -> Osmium King learns about the syzygy from the worm -> Osmium King dies and fails to fulfil the worm's purpose -> Sathona takes the worm -> The Witness uses a year of Sathona's time to feed her information and additional knowledge about the syzygy because she's smarter than her father -> Sathona fulfils the worm's purpose
Had Oryx thought to take the worm from the Osmium King, then the Witness would've told him all of this. But he didn't take the worm. Oryx simply heard about the syzygy from the Osmium King, didn't have time to learn more before his death and then Savathun secretly took the worm for herself.
Oryx still spent time trying to understand the syzygy and the God-Wave and tried coming up with a plan to stop it, but he didn't have access to the primary source of information about it; the worm. Savathun had it secretly. Oryx even noted that Savathun was often going off alone and insisted on being alone and then returned with "mad ideas." Meaning, she was off alone to secretly commune with the worm.
This is communicated fairly clearly as a sort of an early mystery in the Books of Sorrow and then explained by Savathun herself in her own chapter (which she also starts with "My secrets").
I feel like this bit in the Books of Sorrow about Savathun secretly communing with the worm alone for a year is often ignored or missed or misremembered. It's very direct in how it's told, specifically about how she suddenly appears with knowledge about the needle ship and the Worm gods and insists that they should dive, while in the meantime, Oryx is despairing about not even having proof that the God-Wave is happening. So yeah, Oryx was first of the siblings to be told about the syzygy by their father, but he had no connection to any of the actual important information about it because Savathun stole the worm and kept it secret. As she does.
Also note that the Witness' speech never says anything about Savathun being the first to ever find out about the syzygy. In the extended version from the lore tab, it states that the first to learn was the Osmium King, who failed, and then the Witness moved on to influence his children. Due to Savathun stealing the worm in secrecy for herself, the Witness couldn't reach Oryx so Oryx was left with only what his father said, which wasn't enough. Books of Sorrow specify that it wasn't even enough to know the basics, such as proof that it's happening at all. Savathun was always the sibling with the most information on the God-Wave.
Another point that's vaguely adjacent that I want to address as well is that this reveal... didn't feel like a true reveal to me. I loved the cutscene and all, but the point of the cutscene ("The Hive were lied to") was an obvious reading of the Books of Sorrow. I didn't expect that to be contentious, even in-universe. Yes, obviously, Books of Sorrow saying that the Traveler is causing the syzygy is bonkers. Traveler doesn't destroy entire planets. The Darkness does.
Furthermore, the Darkness has been consistently depicted as having gravity powers. Where there's gravitational anomalies, there's Darkness. The connection between Darkness, gravity and the Fundament has become exceptionally clear once Last Days on Kraken Mare released which went into out first proper view of what the Collapse was like and what exactly happened. Specifically, it details how the Darkness warped the moon Titan, then released it, causing it to undergo a devastating tidal wave that destroyed the Arcology. My post from 10 months before WQ released that mentions the Fundament as the first recorded instance of Darkness using gravity to destroy.
Like, that is a direct parallel to the Fundament. When this released, it was the final nail in the coffin for what really happened with the God-Wave. I genuinely didn't think that this would be treated as a huge reveal for The Witch Queen. Like, obviously, yes, the Darkness did that to the Fundament and blamed the Traveler to galvanise the Hive into destroying it.
I still loved the whole full official reveal with an absolutely incredible cutscene that still gives me chills. I think revealing things plainly and in an accessible way for everyone is the best course of action for something so important, instead of leaving it to connections between lore books that not everybody will read. I really loved that this was finally fully explained, unambiguously, as was the whole story of how the Hive were tricked. It also curbed all the edgelord theories about how the Traveler is actually evil and the Traveler did that to the Hive.
This confuses me even fruther then when people are saying there's a retcon or that it's a contradiction. The lore around the Books of Sorrow, the Fundament, the Hive and their connection to the Darkness' lies (as directed by the Witness) is one of the most solid pieces of writing in the entire game.
It's the type of lore that has always been written so well and so clearly in line with other lore that it was really easy to take hints from it and understand where the narrators were deceived. Yes, the siblings were told by the Worm gods that the Traveler is causing the destruction of their home and they forced the siblings into an eternal pact in order to make them go hunt down the Traveler for all eternity.
Meanwhile, every other lore ever is showing that the Traveler is not the type to destroy anything and clearly the Darkness it the bad guy here so obviously, the Worm gods lied to the Hive. It's what made reading Books of Sorrow so tragic and ultimately, well, sorrowful. You're kinda expected to conclude that the Hive were the victims of their circumstances who were tricked by malicious forces into doing the bidding of someone else.
I'm glad The Witch Queen fully confirmed that and explained it so beautifully and tragically. It's a fascinating piece of Destiny universe history that ties the power and intent of Darkness across time and space, from the Hive to humans and beyond.
#destiny 2#hive#witness#darkness#lore vibing#long post#every so often i genuinely see this take#and often it's just people being confused. which is normal! there's a lot of stuff here#and books of sorrow are big and also old#but they're still relevant! and they help us fill in the blanks with this specific event#the new reveal worked directly with the books of sorrow. it didn't contradict them#i'm baffled to see people claim otherwise#you're fine if you just didn't know. that's expected and i hope anyone who didn't know understands things better!#my confusion is with people who claim to be experts and say this. especially books of sorrow enthusiasts#like i've seen self-proclaimed lore experts saying that this is contradicting books of sorrow#and no? it clearly isn't? like. it's right there in the chapters. savathun was always in charge of the worm familiar#oryx only knew what his father said#my guy didn't even have proof that it's real. meanwhile savathun was having secret zoom meetings with the worm for a year#it's actually adorable that he believed his sister is so smart that she was just manufacturing information and good luck for them#oryx vc: 'yeah my sister goes off alone and then comes back with strange instructions that make no sense. she is so smart :)'#savathun: 'get a load of this guy. i am talking to a worm bro. our father's worm! i took it! it's telling me things!'#honestly if they just listened to xivu arath none of this would've happened. absolute dumbasses (complimentary)

Hello! I've been interested in vedic astrology since some time. I have been into tropical one and it was somewhat accurate. But i wanna know about what vedic placements say about me. Can you please talk about my placements? Because I'm unable to understand them really.
From what I learnt in nakshatras here are my placements:
Ashlesha sun (I'm actually a Leo sun in tropical astrology and that suits me well, I wonder how this placement turns out to be)
Swati moon (scorpio moon in tropical)
Hasta rising (libra rising)
Ashwini mars (pisces mars)
Uttara phalguni venus (leo venus)
Purva phalguni Mercury (virgo Mercury)
I'm sorry i'm quite confused that's why I wrote the tropical placements too 😅 Also i saw your blog you follow loa. It's quite fascinating. I had been wondering how to use astrology for my desires. Aslo, it's alright if you don't feel like answering, no pressure. Thank you so much. 💖
Hii. Apologies on the late response.
I'm going to touch on the most important placements I see.
Ashlesha is a Mercury ruled nakshatra. It is symbolized by a Naga/coiled serpent. Ashleshas tend to look like snakes.
(Ashlesha Asc Alexa Demie)
They hate superficiality and are all about preservation. They're very similar to Uttara Bhadrapada, both symbolized by the Nagas which maintain the cosmos. (Ashlesha - ground Naga. Uttara Bhadrapada - water Naga). I bet you're elusive.
Swati is ruled by the deity Vayu, the God Of Wind. And the nakshatra is in an air sign already. Which can indicate that you stay in your head too much. Also, it has a combination of Venus and Rahu. Rahu creates illusions and amazing realities. You might be driven by your imagination. Very artistically driven and can share amazing projects to the world. Also, question, have you been stalked?? Or the stalker? 💀 (just wanna see something)
Hasta Ascendant omggg and I just posted my moon nakshatra part 2 post today. But Hasta women are different. Since Hasta is symbolized by the hand and the word Hasta literally translate to that word, I must ask if you're crafty with your hands? Or, you must have amazing hands.
Hasta is ruled by the Sun God, Savitur. So you're very solar by nature and you may find yourself a lot of admirers or people who are curious to learn from you. Hasta is in the Virgo rashi, so I can clearly assume intellect, the need to master what you put your mind to or just curious about. You shift through interests but this makes you very knowledgeable in a lot of things. Hasta being co-ruled by the Moon can give you a mystical presence. You're probably quite feminine and reserved.
Mercury is your Chart Ruler and it is in Purva Phalguni which is Leo. Purva Phalguni is co-ruled by Venus. Again, I'm sensing creative talents here. Leo, which is ruled by the Sun, shows you're unashamedly yourself. Your Chart Ruler being conjuct your Venus, my goddd you couldn't be any more Venusian maaaaa'am. 👀
Purva Phalguni literally means place of peace/calmness. And the nakshatra is ruled by the diety Bhaga, who gives you the goods in life. Prosperity, abundance, peace, marriage, love etc. He was blinded by the Creator which gives a lesson to natives of nakshatras to enjoy life or make something of themselves and leave what's unimportant behind.
And yesss I'm definitely an LOA follower although I don't reblog much of that content anymore. I'm just silently manifesting and purifying myself ☕
Vedic Astrology is fun to study but I disregard whatever doesn't fit. How I use Astrology post the law of assumption discovery, is that I use my chart to confirm to my inner standards of how I want my reality to be. I'm like oooh I got exalted Venus yass that means I'm the baddest bitch everr etc. There is no "bad placement" in my chart. I've learned to make my own interpretations because I can only be the creator and interpreter of my own damn reality and no one else.

Inti - Day 62
Race: Deity
Alignment: Light-Law
July 2nd, 2024
Sun gods are dime a dozen throughout mythology as a whole- I'm not chiding them, mind, as people need an explanation for the giant ball of red-and-yellow in the sky that we can't live without yet blinds you if you look too long at. Such a strange, almost eldritch concept needs at least some cobbled-together excuse as to its existence, and frankly, good on ancient civilizations for having one beyond 'it just exists.' Whether it be something driven around in a great chariot, a headdress, or, in the case of the Inca, a god itself, which is just what today's Demon of the Day is! The gold-disked dictator of the ancient Inca cult, Inti, is an incredibly curious case.
Now, to begin, like almost every polytheistic religion, the Inca cults had a pantheon. Filled with unique and curious faces, there are almost too many to really mention, with many gods representing very minor aspects to day-to-day life- Kolash, for example, was the god of birds and their trills, or Axomamma, who was the goddess of potatoes. I'd recommend giving the Wikipedia page a nice scroll through for a grasp of just how many there were, and how several were rather major- the Inca revered certain things above others even in comparison to other parts of the world, after all, making them a bit of a curious case in comparison. However, throughout this pantheon, a few names stand out as the most important, and among them is, of course, Inti.
Inti was highly revered and beloved, being the primary figure of worship throughout most Inca cults and movements, but unfortunately, in my research, a lot related to him has been lost to history. A lot of South American mythologies are relatively obscure, unfortunately- even the Aztecs, which have some very famous figures, have a notable lack of primary sources that make researching them an uphill battle. Back on topic, though, Inti was worshipped alongside his wife, the moon goddess Mama Quilla. (She was also his sister, but I'm honestly not even phased by incest anymore in these damn stories.) Soon thereafter, Quilla conceived two children for him, Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo, whom they both sent down to the earth after they had matured enough to help establish order to the fledgeling mankind.
As the myth of origin goes, Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo worked together to create the first city, Cuzco, as well as creating the first Inca Road before sitting down into the ruling positions of the Inca people... and that's about all I can really find on Inti. Call it my lack of focus due to writing this at near-midnight, but this interpretation of Inti that the series seems to be pulling from only really has one real myth behind it, at least from what I can tell. Odd, for such a pivotal character in the mythology, but a lot has likely been lost to the throes of history. Even a lot regarding Inti has been lost to history, such as possible plaques depicting what could be further stories being lost. It's really quite unfortunate, but I suppose it's what happens to a god in an era where, so often, religions were erased to propagate one's own.
At least we still have this disk in memory, alongside several other artifacts. I dunno why I started feeling so melancholy about this- maybe I just need Inti to come out again to feel better about the loss of so many years of history.

Lullaby for the Gods
You have two options
"Stories brought on to the wind will bloom into legends in due time; An ancient tale comes whisked into the wind; In time it will grow and sprout once again." The Weaver and Nurturer of Tales, how they came to be and how they have gone.
Pairings -> Venti x God of Time (Ambiguous, Can be Reader)
Word Count -> 1976
Themes -> SCENARIOS, Background, Timeline, It's sad kinda
Series -> #Bonafide specials (100 followers event) Special slot from a special someone : not sure if they want to be tagged
Warnings -> This is my interpretation on the God of Time based on the Sacrificial Weapons Series. And since the prompt only mentions Venti, I won't focus much on their relationship with Decarabian.
Winds of the North are migrating through the crown of the continent once again. The clouds and breezes shift at the peak of day and the grass, the trees, the flowers they all sway. This was the first encounter, as one of the threads of the thousand migrating winds that is Venti, he had always been fascinated by the strong gales that covers a vast land beyond his reach. The city of Mondstadt protected by raging winds far stronger than he.
"Come now, little guy, are you not straying from your stream?" Such beaded eyes of the little sprite detaches from the crown of the North, with its giggles accompanies a sound reminiscent of bells as he nuzzles at the outstretched hand, fair and smooth. A finger consoles his little cheek as the God of Time echoes his snicker. As the sprite settles on their hand, they both spare a minute to watch the God of Storm's dominion. And then they turn to guide Venti back to his current, to his family of winds.
And the little sprite will not witness them until the second cycle of wind passes the cold land of Mondstadt.
So when the time came, several weeks after, Venti once again strays from the winds to venture to his own current. Where are the satin robes that flows with the breeze, that witnesses the rage of another God? The sprite follows tinkling of tin carried by the thousand winds, harmonizing to produce a soft and sleepy melody that lulls those to sleep.
In a distant island he finds himself upon a huge sundial atop a mostly quiet temple. And there stood again the God of Time, with a distant look over the ocean horizon, eyes clouded yet sparkling from the stars that bounced from the surface of the water. Their skin never frails nor wrinkles, hair lustrous and thick, yet their eyes carry a thousand yard stare of shrouded sadness.
"Little wind..." the sprite nuzzles against the cheek of the God, vibrating in worry as he urges them to smile. And they did, even if did not reach their eyes. "You've strayed again, your achon is far from here," cradling the elf to their neck, they turn away from the horizon to the west.
Yet when they urge him to go back, he stubbornly stays.
A stubborn wind playing around the wielder of Time itself. His courage was admirable, and he is lucky that this God is benevolent to his advances.
So they entertain Venti, and the wind begins his stories. Tales of those he'd witnessed when the wind ventures through the continent; and in every word he spills the God of Time is attentive, for when his accounts finally come to their end, Time puts into their memory for keeping. You weave the tales and I treasure them for that is my duty, they spoke with melancholy.
Decarabian is a God that loves his people more than others would know, more than the people would know. And he is also a lonely God. Perhaps it is this distance and disconnection from the world and his people that had made him naive to what he has forced upon his subjects.
The first prayer was heard beyond the wall of storms, only befalling to the ears of the God of Time and the wind spirit who were enjoying a leisurely stroll through the frozen land Andrius had covered in his territory. A man's woe for salvation of the city beyond the gales first reaches the God.
Yet they are unmoving and silent as they watch from afar the Gunnhildr.
But the wind spirit was not that, he was curious and as always he is carried away to his own feat. So without warning he strays from Time and listens to the crying one ever so patiently, and there he receives a glimpse of power that shall manifest one day to greater good.
God of Time offers a smile in the forests where they hid. But only that. For despite being the God of Time, they are solely there to protect its flow. To maintain balance and what should be.
There is nothing they can do to help the people of Mond.
"Little wind." The moniker carried a hard edge of worry unlike the other instances it was used. "The land of Decarabian is... treacherous and suffocating. You are but a tiny wind against his storms." Yet they knew such words will not remove the resolve in the tiny spirit. "Come back to me in one piece, alright? Remember your tales."
Venti softly bumped his hooded head to the God's cheek in reassurance, before he too disappears past the walls of gale front.
And so the God of Time can only do nothing but stand in wait. Like they had always been. Like they had always done. For Decarabian then, for Venti now.
"Bring forth the freedom we all desire."
Many of those that dwell the King of the North's cold wasteland once talked of an ethereal being of satin and silk, of flowing sands, that which overlooked the land of the storms with a somber look. Perhaps it was the waiting and the hoping, but many felt great semblance with the deity. Of the longing look for a distant freedom.
"Little wind," immediately after was a chorus of laughter at the irony brought upon by habits. Venti, now Barbatos with his great wings loom over the God of Time, hands outstretched to feel upon their smooth hands. "I always knew there was more to you."
"My muse," he tastes the new name with his newfound voice, and with his there was a chorus of angelic echoes. "There are festivities upon us, for the city of Mond trapped that was. The people had prepared a grand temple, for just us two Gods it is already ample."
Yet the God of Time smiled only with their lips at the mention of a shrine. You told them about me, they mused as the archon carried them both with the wind where the temple by the east cliff resides.
Give yourself some credit, the new Anemo Archon responds in light banter.
But the God of Time does not.
And so days of reenactments and performances were all that they were driwned upon. For daily, between the peak of the moon and the glimpses of the sun, devoted subjects would appease to the two Gods of Mondstadt through retelling and theatrics of their hard-earned journey to freedom.
Although they cannot glimpse upon the forms of the deities, the light giggles reminiscent of bells that comes from amusement and the flow of draping satin are enough reassurance that their important audience still lingers and listens to their offerings.
This dwelling became their place of rendezvous. And whenever the amphitheater was not crowded by devotees, a lyre plays with a melodic voice, weaving tales of Mondstadt's anew. The God of Time would be there to treasure every story that is weaved, but their subjects remember such moments in a different light: the strum of the strings and the lilt of Barbatos carries with it a hint of serenades.
It seems as tho the faceless God enjoys the Anemo Archon's tales the most.
Whenever it is the Gunnhildr's clan that performs their tale of courage in honor of defending Mondstadt, life and freedom, Barbatos' happiness was the most extraordinaire. The winds breeze by to caress everyone with comfort.
The Imunlaukr receives praise from the God of Time when they are the one on stage. Of courage and bravery, with their desire to not only protect the city of Mond but to appease the Gods, time slows when they follow their script. As if honored by time to stay and linger for the amusement.
And finally, the Lawrence clan holds with them a different reaction, for when their time has come it is quiet. Other clans would comment that perhaps the Gods do not favor their performance but they continued regardless, and they carry with them the essence of wisdom and strength, from the frozen lands to the new city. And only after they perform are they graced by the softest winds and the kisses of youngness that they carry with them even after.
This clan's performance sings with expertly woven symphonies and journeys of hardships through the cold, not harsh but comforting, soft melodies and that of longing. During their performance unbeknownst to their eyes is when the wind embraces the passage of time, where it is in its calmest moments, cradled between his arms and resting against his chest.
The bloodline of the Lawrence always ends the rituals for the morning, for the God of Time had finally found themself free from the shackles of the storms, peacefully resting in the arms of freedom. And it is in these moments that the people appreciate the lessened harshness of time.
Time is harsh and unrelenting, and should always be moving.
The God of Time protects time, nurtures time, and urges time. No force or law shall break the equilibrium of time nor tip its balance. And this unbreakable rule applies to them.
For this reason they ask one day, to the Anemo Archon, why they praise Time. What do they expect from time. And there Barbatos finally sees the burden of a thousand years, of the constraints of that whom is held down by prayers, held down by incapability.
Time only knows harshness. And they cried to the winds without restraints, for not once will they be able to gift the people that so desperately long for their blessings.
And for once, the wind was silent.
For once, the winds... understands the insanity of being one with time. A force made to be unmoved and unrelenting, to be shackled to a single tale when you are burdened with the pleas of many others.
Time is harsh, because they are meant to be.
So when the Anemo Archon finally desired rest and detachment to procure the essence of freedom, they too felt the chance to finally breathe. "Can you set up my awakening five hundred years from now?" Venti laid his head upon the lap of Time, teal eyes and smile somber yet gentle and reassuring. "Preferably at the peak of Ludi Harpastum, if you would allow." An hour glass manifests next to him, allowing his wish.
"When you wake, I will be here," they mumbled as the archon lets his eyelids rest, feeling a soft kiss to his forehead that lulls him to sleep.
"Tell me the tales like a balladeer." And he slumbers away the years.
"When I came to be, the Lawrence ruled over Mondstadt, governing with the most disgusting aristocracy. It was only right that they lost the blessings of thy winds, after all it is only for those who fought to be free," Venti sighed with pure disappointment, "Honestly."
"What happened to your Time friend, then? Did they tell you what happened during your sleep?"
The windborne bard looks at Paimon with a wide yet steeled gaze so daunting it made her squeak and hide behind the traveler. Who silently watches as Venti once again sighed and resigned to strumming his lyre.
"They're gone." No rhyme, no smiles, no cryptics.
Barbatos sought out the help of the winds of Teyvat to tell tale on the dwellings of the God of Time yet came out empty handed. And his only salvation, the oldest of the Seven, can only shake his head as he too does not know of the whereabouts of the God.
The fragments of time lingers in cursed windswept ballads and stories. And as the years go by, all worshipers and records had forgotten about the deity.
They only sing praise to the wind shrine now.
Now who shall nurture the stories brought by the winds?
I seem to have a knack for hurting Venti.

Planets in Astrology: Jupiter
I'm going to dive into the meaning of the five visible planets and two luminaries (the Sun and the Moon), also known as the seven "classical" or "traditional" planets. I will share various significations for the planets from texts written between the 2nd century AD and the 20th century AD, and conclude with some of my own thoughts about interpreting that planet in astrology.
Thursday is the day of Jupiter, so today I am writing about our great benefic.
Jupiter is one of two “benefic” planets in astrology (the other being Venus), granting it a special role in contrast with the malefic planets Mars and Saturn. While the malefics represent destruction, the benefics represent creativity, good fortune, pleasant feelings, and abundance.
Jupiter has more in common with its fellow benefic Venus than might be immediately obvious. In the 2nd century Anthology of Vettius Valens he lists “desire” and “love” among the significations of both Jupiter and Venus. What makes Jupiter unique as a symbol of love and romance is perhaps a matter of scale. Given that Valens also associates Jupiter with authority, government, and alliances, I interpret the kinds of bonds represented by Jupiter through the lens of their connection with a larger social order. Marriage is not only a bond between two people—it is a recognition of that bond by the couple’s community and by the structures of legal and cultural authority in which they participate. While Venus connects us to people one-on-one, Jupiter connects us to society.
Valens writes that Jupiter signifies freedom and justice. When people are unfairly denied the benefits of the society in which they live, Jupiter works through its domiciles, Pisces and Sagittarius, to inspire compassion and justice. Valens lists not only freedom, but also “release from bonds” among Jupiter’s significations. Jupiter relieves debt and sets free the imprisoned.
Valens lists union and affirmation among Jupiter’s significations, and here we can see Jupiter’s potential downside. As a benefic planet, Jupiter tries to affirm things and hold them together. There are times when a social, political, or legal structure is so fundamentally broken that trying to reform and repair it is not enough. Sometimes the only option is to tear the whole thing down and start over, and such circumstances require the malefics.
A signification for Jupiter held in common by Valens and the medieval Arabic astrologers Abu Mashar and Al Biruni is that of having children (Abu Mashar and Al Biruni extend this to include grandchildren as well). I can’t help noticing a connection here with Jupiter’s exaltation in the nurturing sign of Cancer. Of the three signs in which Jupiter has the best essential dignity, two are water signs. Jupiter is, of course, the planet associated with the sky god Zeus, bringer of rain and famed for his thousands of children. Jupiter grants life—to people, animals, and crops—in abundance.
Abu Mashar and Al Biruni list multiple significations for Jupiter that connect it to religion, worship, and piety. Jupiter is also connected to the law—to judges, legal experts, and lawyers. Jupiter signifies riches, but also open-handed generosity and charity. It signifies wisdom, knowledge, scholars, sages, and, in Abu Mashar, “the interpretation of dreams.” Abu Mashar lists several significations that Jupiter shares in common with Venus: laughter, jokes, beauty, fun, indulgence. Jupiter’s abundance is not only material, but intellectual, emotional, and spiritual—an abundance of knowledge, understanding, and goodwill towards others.
The Renaissance astrologers William Ramesey and William Lilly echo the Medieval tradition by listing students, scholars, priests, bishops, lawyers, judges, ministers, and chancellors as Jupiterian professions. Although Jupiter is often associated with excess in modern astrology, the Renaissance tradition places the virtues related to moderation (temperance, sobriety, modesty, and prudence) in Jupiter’s domain. Jupiter certainly has its extravagant side in traditional astrology, but for those who are used to associating it with over-extension and blowing things out of proportion it may come as a surprise that Jupiter has signified patience, balance, stability, and moderation throughout its long history in traditional astrology.
The familiar Jupiterian keyword “expansion” appears in my earliest modern source (Alan Leo’s How to Judge a Nativity Parts 1 and 2), where Leo writes: “Everything that is related to expansion, in the growth and development of living creatures, is under the benefic rule of Jupiter, so that his dominion is over upliftment, increase, abundance and fullness; giving bliss, happiness and pleasure to all who expand under his mighty power.” Leo echoes his forebears from the Hellenistic, Medieval, and Renaissance traditions by saying that “Jupiter is never an extreme, but always a mean between extremes, a harmonizing and reconciling power…”
Steven Forrest’s 1984 book The Inner Sky presents a Jupiter that is in many ways continuous with the earlier tradition: a planet of happiness, contentment, liberation, and triumph. But he also lists “over-optimism, overextension, and unrealistic expectations” as negative significations of Jupiter. I have seen cases where Jupiter indicates too much of a good thing, often showing up as an abundance of something that is enjoyable but not necessarily good for you in the long run. There are circumstances where the normally temperate Jupiter can be misused and become unbalanced.
In my own practice, Jupiter’s placement can represent a source of wisdom or knowledge that enhances your life and gives it meaning. Its placement in your birth chart can indicate an area of life where you are especially lucky, where you are likely to benefit from an investment of your time and energy, or where you might find benefactors, mentors, patrons, allies, or teachers who support you (I often think of Jupiter as your “fairy godmother”). Jupiter’s placement in your chart might give you clues about which situations or relationships in your life would especially benefit from hope, faith, and generosity. When you need stability or affirmation, look to Jupiter for guidance.
Like Saturn, Jupiter is far from the Earth. Both planets move slowly through the zodiac compared to the inner planets. Jupiter remains in the same sign for about a year, so you probably shared your Jupiter sign with many of your classmates growing up. The slowness and distance of Jupiter and Saturn make them apt symbols for issues that affect people on a collective level. Jupiter can represent our experience of large-scale social structures like government, culture, religion, and educational institutions. Jupiter can symbolize membership in a social group or cause. Jupiter especially represents the benefits gained through networks of people with shared values. It reminds us that we can accomplish more with the help of other people than we can on our own.
People with an emphasis on Jupiter in their birth charts might consider the ways they act as sages, prophets, teachers, leaders, and counsellors. Pay close attention to Jupiter in your birth chart if you have Sagittarius or Pisces rising, if you have Jupiter in Cancer, Sagittarius or Pisces, if you have Jupiter in an angular house (the first, fourth, seventh, or tenth), or if you have multiple planets in the signs of Sagittarius or Pisces. Jupiter may be offering you its spirit of generosity and hope.

Explaining the Iceberg #4
I covered most things in this, but not everything. Every previous post I’ve made describing the tes iceberg I found on google image search can be found here x
Lorkhan’s purposeful failure: Lorkhan was the first spirit to go beyond the universe to see the tower, but didn’t achieve CHIM. He likely did this on purpose to show others how not to do it, and to demonstrate that it was difficult for et’ada to achieve this state because they simply don’t have the boundaries (such as death) that mortals do.
The World-Egg: The universe and the 12 previous Kalpas, everything within existence
The Khajiit Tower: this reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/3oh7wf/the_khajiit_tower/ for everyone’s sake i’ll spare you the details of Jungian psychology, TL;DR the khajiit are a ‘tower’ made to hold up the universe and aspects of this
The Grabbers: Mentioned in the 36 lessons, a race of people in Lyg who are said to ‘have never built a city of their own’ there are theories that these are in fact Magne-Ge, due to their connection to Lyg by Mehrunes Dagon
AE: ‘is’ in ehlnofex, can be interpreted as a state of being
Shezzar became Akatosh: The only solid reference i could find was this thread, that immediately discusses how this is probably incorrect http://www.gamesas.com/could-lorkhan-have-jyggalag-t74581-25.html
The Monkey-Truth: Markuth’s teachings, also a website of tes fanfiction writers and roleplayers
Red Moment: The potential Dragon Break at Red Mountain
The Provisional House: Mentioned in the 36 Lessons, called ‘a space that is not a space’ that Vivec observes the events of Nirn from. It may possibly protect Vivec from dangers associated with this.
Alandro Sul: The Shield-Companion to Nerevar. Sometimes called ‘the immortal-son of Azura’. After being blinded by Wulfharth, he went to live with the Ashlanders of Vvardenfell and is credited with spreading the idea that the Tribunal killed Nerevar
CHIM: To put simply, the process and state where a person realizes their place within the universe and is able to manipulate the laws of the universe as they see fit. Often associated with the concept of ‘Love’
Skaal Secrets: Discussed in the Dragonborn DLC, it’s unknown what their secrets are, but the Skaal report that they’ve kept them a secret from Hermaeus Mora for generations
The World’s Teeth: Mentioned in the 36 lessons of Vivec, sermon 17. Vivec takes Nerevar to the edge of the world, where they see ‘the bottom row of the world’s teeth’ as Vivec states. This may possibly reference a glitch in Redguard. (as a side note: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, a game that’s confirmed to have taken inspiration from the Elder Scrolls, has an area on the map, near the edge of the world with a row of spikes similar to what’s described here. This might be just coincidence, but I sure enjoy it)
Dagoth Ur’s Endgame: Speculation on what Dagoth Ur’s final plans actually are. He speaks of his desire to remove the Empire from Morrowind, and unite the Dunmer under the 6th House, but beyond that there’s little to go off of. Ultimately this is just speculation and theories, mostly on what he plans to do with the Anumidium, and how that could possibly have adverse affects on reality.
Pelinal Cyborg from the Future: Another bit of obscure MK lore that’s not implemented in-game. This derives from the description of Pelinal having a ‘left hand made of a killing light’ ‘PELIN-EL [which is] "The Star-Made Knight" [and he] was arrayed in armor [from the future time].’ and his survival of being decapitated. While the text directly states he is from the future, there’s no ingame canon text stating he is a cyborg.
Reymon Ebonarm is Reman: The thought that Ebonarm, a God of War is the same person as Reman, emperor of Cyrodiil. There’s several theories dedicated to this, with different variants on the specifics.
The Enantiomorph: Directly tied to the concept of mantling and the Fourth Walking Way. Put simply, there are three participants in this. Two combatants who are very much alike and trying to become the ‘Ruling King’ and an observer who determines who wins, this observer usually becomes maimed as a result of this.
The Third Moon: Two different things, a metaphorical or literal secret moon important to the Khajiit that only appears when Masser and Secunda are aligned, preceding the birth of a Mane. The second option is the Necromancer’s Moon, the godly form of Mannimarco.
The Walkabout: A concept in Yokudan religion. The process of spirits surviving one Kalpa to the next, facilitated by Tall Papa
White-Gold Doomsday device: I remember reading this theory a few years back, unfortunately I cannot find the exact page for the life of me. The Tl;DR on this is the White-Gold Tower is a weapon of mass destruction, either literally or in metaphysical terms (being connected to Akatosh and it’s status as a Tower). The closest thing I can find to it is this thread which describes the motives of Umbra in the novels, and how it could potentially take over Tamriel using the White-Gold Tower http://www.gamesas.com/doomsday-scenario-t69430.html
Jiub was the Nerevarine: Self explanatory, headcanon that Jiub was the Nerevarine, similar to a headcanon on tumblr that stated Teldryn Sero was the Nerevarine
House Dwemer: Mentioned as a House within The War of the First Council (which is written by an Imperial for Western Scholars) and The Lost Prophecy (written by a Dunmer) This could be interpreted in a couple different ways. A) The first book was certainly written for western readers, while there is no evidence for this being the case for the latter, it can’t be ruled out. ‘House’ is used as a simplification B) The Dwemer were considered a house, but perhaps not in the way we would initially think (being on the Great House Council) They were grouped into a singular entity, rather than distinct clans within a cultural group (either during the First Council or posthumously)
When Dead Gods Dream: https://www.imperial-library.info/content/when-dead-gods-dream referencing this thread. Discusses the mechanisms of Dagoth Ur’s godhood, the thread explains it better than I can here, TL;DR Dagoth Ur is not alive, but he is within the realms of gods and therefor is able to ‘project’ himself onto Tamriel and the minds of his followers.
Khajiit ended the Metheric Era: Nothing found for this
Parabolic Kalpa: A parabola is a symmetrical U-shaped curve. This theory essentially tries to explain why Skyrim is so low magic, compared to it’s history or even ESO. The thought is that as time goes on, the world becomes less connected to Divinity. Towers are destroyed and the gods are gone, but eventually things will begin to kick off again, and there will be a rise in magic, technology and the connection to these beings. Essentially tries to explain why C0da and Loveletter from the 5th era are more high magic compared to the actual games.
Sithis: Secret Lesson from Vivec: Connects the both Sithis with the 36 lessons by terminology (The Sharmat, false dreamer ect.) and proposes Vivec may have written the book
Bendu Olo: Colovian King, may have been related to Olaj Olo, nordic demigod of mead. Also used as a placeholder name for the player character in Oblivion and the name of the dev’s test character in Skyrim
Trinimac still lives: An ESO lorebook states the Ashpit, realm of Malacath, extends into Aetherius. Some orcs also believe Malacath is nothing more than a demon presenting himself as the remnants of Trinimac. A r/teslore theory states that Malacath wears two faces. While I assume this is the Iceberg author’s sole reference, I propose this could (should) refer to another theory. (Another theory is similar to this on teslore, proposed around the same time, but this one connects the dots) https://boethiah.tumblr.com/post/621058598373588993/tsun-is-the-shield-brother-of-shor-and-trinimac
The Aedra are Dead: Seemingly a common topic on teslore. A basic concept in tes, the Aedra gave most of their powers to Mundus to stabilize it. Their bodies remain as planets, and they can only have limited interactions with Nirn.
Divayth Fyr was the Hero of Battlespire: An old theory that looks at artifacts in Divayth Fyr’s possession and ties them back to the tes spinoff Battlespire. There are holes in this theory (Divayth Fyr was a seasoned mage at the time the hero was an apprentice)
Three Talin’s: The default name given to the Eternal Champion is Talin, a character creation scenario proposes that their father was also named Talin, and finally Uriel Septim VII’s general was named Talin Warhaft.
Pelagius I was killed by the Underking: The Arcturian Heresy states that the Underking appeared as an advisor to Pelagius I, who was assassinated by the Dark Brotherhood. This theory is a possibility considering the amminosity between Tiber Septim and both components of the Underking.
Tsaesci Goa’uld: Goa’uld are a species from Stargate that are parasites towards humans. This theory proposes that the Tsaesci are similar, explaining the inconsistencies of their appearance within the lore.
Lunar currency: The thought that the Aedra and Daedra use mortal souls like currency
Historic Star Inconsistencies: Possibly referring to the variations of the number of days within the year in Arena, not sure about this one
Mnemoli/Star Orphans:Mnemoli is either a specific Magne-Ge (spirits that fled the creation of Mundus after Magnus), or a group of them that only appears during a Dragon Break (often nicknamed the ‘Blue Star’) MK states that they’re the writers and distributors of the physical Elder Scrolls (however this contradicts ingame books, so take it with a grain of salt). Star Orphans may or may not refer to Magne-Ge as a whole. Vehk’s book of hours state's them as a ‘group or tribe’ regardless, Mnemoli falls under this secondary classification (along with Merid-Nuda and Xero-Lyg, I have my own thoughts on this which would be better explained in another post)
Bosmer Hircine worship: Seemingly referring to a thread on 4pleb, I will not be summarizing this theory here because I’m smart and not going onto 4pleb of all places. But from canon content, Bosmer do not worship Hircine, and consider him a force that goes against Y’ffre and wants to return everything to it’s original state of chaos before the earthbones (Y’ffre being among them) stabilized things
Septimus Signus Zero Sum: The theory that the aforementioned zero-summed at the end of Discerning the Transmundane in Skyrim. Essentially Septimus is in a fragile state, delving into the secrets of the universe and is being pushed by Hermaeus Mora, who may see him as a lab rat, into discovering things he isn’t meant to handle as a mortal, and consequently Zero-Sums. There’s holes in this, namely Zero-Summing supposedly removes all trace of existence.
The Soft Doctrines of Magnus Invisible: A very obscure text by Douglas Goodall, discusses the binding of various gods
Abnegaurbic creed: An overly fancy word basically meaning religious beliefs, seen in Nu-Hattia Exerpt
Dunmereth: A Nordic term for the area of Morrowind, during their occupation of it
Fifteen-and-One Golden Tones: A Dwemer term, possibly referring to the spheres of the Daedra, counting Sheo/Jyggalag as a singular entity. Also, the Dwemer swear by these
Ideal Masters are God of Worms remnants: As Mannimarco is often said to be the first Lich, the existence of the ideal masters seems to contradict this (similar story with Azidal) this tries to rectify this by proposing that the Soul Carin is the Necromancer’s Moon, and the ideal masters are remnants of Mannimarco. This theory doesn’t hold up when examined, but is cool nonetheless.
Sermon 37: Found in ESO, an extra sermon to the 36 lessons, ties in concepts present in c0da like amaranth. (interestingly on this list Sermon Zero is never mentioned, despite it being older and more interesting imo, but to discuss that would require lots of work)
Flying Whales: Mentioned in Aldudagga. A now extinct species. The bone bridge of Sovngarde could potentially be a reference to this.
Joy-Snow: It’s cocaine
Mankar=Tharn: A theory that Mankar Cameron is Jagar Tharn, doesn’t hold much weight and relies mostly on the connection of Mehrunes Dagon
Sharmat: A term used to describe Dagoth Ur, an opposite to the Hortator, a force uniting people for evil. Implied to mean or be associated with ‘the False Dreamer’ a person whose view of the universe is similar to someone whose achieved CHIM, but sees themself as the center of it all, rather than a droplet in the ocean of the universe.
Pankratosword: A forbidden Yokudan sword technique that could ‘cut atoms’ similar to our modern day Nuclear Fission. A bit of etymology here, ‘Pankrato’ seems to refer to the word ‘Pankrator’ meaning all-powerful or almighty.
Landfall: A concept from MK, a future event where Nirn is destroyed by the Numidium, and the people remaining relocate to the moons.
Cylarne: The oldest ruin in the Shivering Isles, rumored to be the original capital. Home to the Cold Flame of Agnon

Mid-1953
At long last, the Korean War has ended after 3 years.
Over 5 million people dead, and to be one of the lucky survivors was a miracle.
The remaining soldiers who’ve fought through it all could return home, whilst civilians can properly rebuild all that was devastatingly destroyed in their cities. Their own normal lives included.
The fiercest 3 years of your life must you say, too engaged with self-studying your history books saved pre-war while dealing with the bargaining stage of your grief towards Doyoung. Every day, you couldn’t go on without overthinking the what-ifs. On top of that, your toddler Areum was at the stage where she loved creating a mess on the walls with her crayons. No matter how many times you’ve corrected her because it wasn’t your house, she continued anyway.
Now, she’s full-blown crying after you confiscated them and you’re on the verge of it. Thankfully, your mother stepped in to take her out for a walk in the neighborhood so you could unwind for a bit.
Since news broke out that the war ended, everyone from every street cheered and danced on the streets. You hailed with praise along with them, positive that things were going to get better. Yet deep down, you’ve selfishly wished that he was one of the lucky few to come home.
If only you didn’t chicken out so easily after he told you he was enlisting so you had a few more seconds with him.
If only you compromised him to join another field.
If only you told him about Areum earlier so he could go home.
These thoughts revolved your mind the most, instantly getting you to break down wherever you were. Even photos of him and you together were enough to tear down your walls. So, they remained hidden until the day you’re in a much better state of mind.
Dear god, you longed for him. Everything that consists of him.
In hopes to forget this tremendous loss in your life, you poured hot tea in a cup and started on this new book from this ongoing series, The Chronicles of Narnia. Getting it during this harsh period was tough, bartering it with old books you’ve owned in the market.
Fully preoccupied in the fantastical universe, flipping the pages quickly, you almost missed the continuous knocking on your door. You let out a tiny gasp and made your way to the entrance. As delusional to think it was Doyoung, you knew it wasn’t your mother and Areum either because they would’ve simply walked in. Opening it anyways, you were met by two young tall men. One had a bandage on his cheek while the other had a cast on his right arm. Noting their growing hair, they must’ve fought in the war.
Oh, if Doyoung was one of them.
“Hello, may I know who you two are?”
The one with the bandage spoke up, bowing first. “Hello, I am Lee Taeyong and this is my friend, Kim Jungwoo. We were good friends of your late lover, Kim Doyoung.”
Late lover.
Haven’t heard that since people in the neighborhood gossiped about your taboo pregnancy, but it’s not like they knew anyways. But from the letters exchanged with Doyoung before, he talked about these two highly. Whenever there were times of ease while serving, Doyoung was always up to mischievous things with these two. In a situation where they had to man up, they brought out his inner child.
“Oh, yes! Doyoung used to talk about you two in his letters, but I had no clue how you guys looked.”
By instinct, you invited them inside for tea by the patio. You’ve always wanted to meet them despite the circumstances. Bringing in a tray with a teapot and treats, mostly you were inquiring about their lives. Aside from knowing their positions in the team, you learned of their new plans moving forward.
“I want to return to university to finish my studies in mechanical engineering, maybe travel the world too.” Jungwoo stated, blowing on his cup before sipping it. He’s said to be an organized man according to Doyoung, always cautious of his surroundings. It balanced out his liveliness.
“Me too! I want to complete my major in finance, then marry my childhood sweetheart after a few years.” Taeyong expounded, his round eyes glowed in wonder. He must’ve been looking forward to this day, and you were content for him. Meanwhile, it processed to Taeyong what he said, realizing that it may have been insensitive.
“Shit, I’m sorry,” He burst out instantly. “I got stuck in my feelings there.”
“It’s okay, nothing to worry about. You shouldn’t apologize for how you feel.”
“I do think we should feel worried about you though.” Jungwoo interrupted, sighing heavily. “What happened with Doyoung-hyung all those years ago, we’re really concerned for you especially.”
At the mention of the painful memory, this wasn’t the right time to crumble. You weren’t capable to show your vulnerability to anyone but yourself. Plastering a wrenching pretend smile, “I appreciate the concern, truly. But I’ll be okay again. I’m planning to return to university too, then proceed to law school. A shared dream of mine and his.”
Taeyong and Jungwoo transparently viewed you like glass, coping with the grief of it. They were on the same page as you, and unaware to you, they knew his final words. With their interpretation, it only felt right to reach out to you. Befriend you, aid you in any possible way.
At the end of the day, three of you equally shared the suffering over the death of a loved one.
Sitting in peaceful silence, the front door creaked open followed by a tiny, high-pitched voice squealing.
“We’re home!” Your mother shouted.
“I’m at the patio, we have guests over!” You replied, pouring more tea for the two quiet boys.
From such a low-spirited atmosphere only did it liven up when an energetic Areum came into your setting. She had pigtails this time, satisfying herself with fresh bungeo-ppang from the neighborhood. No matter what you’re feeling, it took a single glance of her with her small moon-like eyes to recharge you.
“Mom, who are your friends here?” She pondered cluelessly.
The two boys exchanged looks at each other first, then to you in one breath. Their expressions of perplexity by how one’s hand was on their mouth and the other boy couldn’t stop staring at Areum, you identified exactly what they were thinking of.
“Areum, these are your dad’s friends in the army.” You animatedly confirmed. “The one with that tiny bandage on his face is uncle Taeyong, and the one with the white cast is uncle Jungwoo.”
Doyoung’s death was already so heavy to take in, but upon discovering this hidden surprise, Jungwoo wiped his tears on his sleeve. But you were fast to hand him some tissue. He was younger than you, so your older sister instincts kicked in.
“This is unjust, (Y/N).” He murmured across you so Areum won’t pick up his words. Your lips pressed against each other, maintaining a straight face at him. He was right.
With Taeyong, his arms spread out wide for the small girl who willingly walked to him. He loved children, having a nephew back home. He caressed her smooth hair down to her jaw. The first thing he distinguished was her pretty eyes followed by her squishy cheeks, resembling so much of his late friend.
“You’re so pretty, Areum. Did your mom tell you that you mirror so much of your dad?”
“Yes, she does! But I’ve never met him and I don’t when I will, uncle Taeyong.”
A tragedy how the splitting image of his best friend doesn’t see what everyone sees. But again, she’s only 3 and she can only process so much. She doesn’t know the real truth behind her father’s location, except that he was working far, far away. There are days she’d ask if he’d come back soon, yet your only response is not now. This isn’t the right time for her purity about life to stain.
“Well Areum,” Jungwoo gathered his senses again, crouching down to her level. “As his friends, we know that you look just like him! Prettier even.”
“Really? Tell me more about him, uncle Jungwoo!”
It’s about time someone else shared stories about your late lover because yours was short-lived. It’s even more intriguing to listen to what other people have to say about Doyoung that weren’t his parents. Some stories told by Taeyong and Jungwoo were new to you too, giggling along to their ridiculousness when they’re not training or fighting. Loving their presence, you invited them to stay for dinner with your family, which they couldn’t reject.
What started as a tense conversation transformed into a heartwarming experience. These two boys earned a spot in your life, aspiring for longtime friendships with them. The tender way they cherished for Areum like they’re own after meeting for the first time, it’ll fill in bits of her void. In exchange, they insisted to chip in for you and her lives so it wouldn’t be just you and your family. Struggling already with the consequences of the war, it only felt proper to do so.
“Doyoung has always been there for us, now let us return the favor and be there for you and Areum.”
Your protests were deemed useless, so you allowed them to do so. Once you finished law school and take the exams, you could pay them back. It’s phenomenal how Doyoung’s good influence towards others multiplied even after his passing. Maybe if you began to view things this way, you’d recover sooner. Although he’ll always be in your thoughts, it wouldn’t be as sensitive as it is now.
For now, you’re just going to enjoy the bliss Taeyong and Jungwoo brought, retelling old tales of a drunk Doyoung on the dining table.
From behind your garden fence in secret, Doyoung secretly observed as his treasured companions interacted at last with positivity. His only daughter mirroring his adored smile, he lived in that moment vicariously through her.
What a good time to visit today, truly.

Indian Magical School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Headcanon #1: The legends of it’s foundation
I love JKR and her magical world, but she completely ignored the South Asian region and a culture diverse as India, which could have been a great background for magical population. So I took the matters in my own hands and created some headcanons like I did previously with Mahoutokoro. Hope you will appreciate it.
The legend and the history of the school is so very overlapping that it is sometimes hard to distinguish between what is truth and what is myth. However the story goes something like this.
When the First Emperor of Aryavarta (Ancient India) Daksha was given the job to bring all earthly prosperity to the world, he was assisted by Seven Sages. These Seven Sages were the seven stars of the Great Dipper Constellations, who were called: Marichi, Atri, Angira, Pulascha, Pulaha, Kratu and Vashistha. To other Interpretation, these seven sages were called, Atri, Agasthya, Bharadvaja, Bhragu, Kashyapa, Jamdagni and Gautama. These Seven sages were wise and learned an knew many supernatural powers that governs the land of man without their common knowledge. Emperor Daksha wanted to control the seven sages and therefore made relations with them by marrying off his daughters with Bhragu, Kashyap and the sons of other sages: his demand was to have their power to his disposal only. The seven sages could do nothing, as in the Law of Dakshraj, harming or betraying the Kutumba (relatives and in-laws) were considered High Treason.
But the sages being the wise and kind men they were wanted to spread the greater knowledge of supernatural powers to the common man in order to help them understand their infinite potential. So they started to sought resources from the sages who were considered “outcasts“ in Daksha’s rule for learning about the end of things (because Daksha wanted his kingdom to be eternal, these concepts were forbidden). One sage, named Dadhichi came to help the Saptarshi (the seven sages) and instructed them to journey southwards to the door of the Yama (the God of death). It was shocking enough for the sages, but one of the sage: Agasthya or in some other texts Marichi agreed to journey southwards. He bid his colleagues farewell and told them not to look for him and return to the capital; if their calling is true there would be a day they would meet again.
when the sages returned, they found themselves in a chaotic position. Daksha had insulted his youngest daughter and her husband in the front of the Royal Court and to protect her honour the youngest has self-immolated. The Husband of his youngest daughter was Shiva, the God of Destruction who was not worshipped or even mentioned in Daksha’s kingdom as something “unholy”. Although the sages did not mention Shiva in Daksha’s presence, but they knew that the Creation cannot last forever and to exist, it must always be destroyed and transformed. Thus when the sages could not convince Daksha to ask forgiveness from Shiva, they publicly renounced their special status and that of their being the Princes Consort and left the palace forever. Later Daksha was slain by the God of destruction Shiva in the crime of Pride and pushing his own flesh and blood to kill herself.
In the path away from the Capital, the Sage Agasthya appeared before the rest. The sages knew that it was not real Agasthya, but his astral projection. He did not speak but pointed towards the south, towards the deep forest surrounding a mountain that no human can cross. The sages understood that Agasthya had given his life to seek it. The sages, after thinking day and night, could think no other plan to reach the place, let alone establish a school there, because it was not ordinary mountain, but a Volcano. After great thinking, Bhragu, the master of Astrology came up with a plan and decided to summon Seven Celestial Planets and pray them to guide there. The Planets summoned were: Surya (sun), Soma (moon), Budha (Mercury), Shukra (venus), Mangal (Mars), Brihaspati (Jupiter) and Shani (Saturn).
The sages prayed for 14 lunar days and the Seven Celestial Planets were pleased with their dedication and each one promised one reward to the sages. The sages told them everything about their wish to build an establishment to teach sons of man about the infinite power of the universe, but they didn’t know how to go to the place Agasthya had instructed them to go.
After hearing everything the Sun said “I shall rise from the east, pure white on the blood smeared sky and my light shall point the way to the hallowed place.”
Then came Mars said “I shall follow the path of the sun and destroy every obstruction that stands on the way to put the standard of victory on the hallowed land I won in the name of the Sun”,
After Mars, the Moon said, “I shall call upon the sky, ask it to rain on the Volcano so that the lava solidified and creates ground for the building”,
after Moon Mercury said “I shall bring about such designs with my mind that no human has ever seen, A house that shall be marvelous and impenetrable to any ill-wisher”.
After Mercury, Venus says, “I shall give that design a habitable form, strengthen and beautify it with the igneous stones from this volcano”.
Then Jupiter said “Like my illusive body, I shall expand it to 1000 times greater, and bless it so that no occupant in this house ever experiences obstruction in learning and nourishment. And as the Eldest of the Planets, I name this house Vishakhtantra , a house where high magic spreads out like branches of holy banyan tree”
when all of the planets were done doing their jobs, everyone looked at the dark figure that lurked at the background, with a smirk in his lips. The sages asked why the last one, Saturn did not come forward and requested him to contribute. Smiling he said “illusive planets and sages, you are all brilliant but you have done wrong.” It evoked fear amongst the sages because Saturn, the God of Justice and Time is elemental to any establishment and angering him could be catastrophic. Bhragu asked Saturn’s pardon and asked him to correct them. Saturn smiled and said, “The mistake, illusive sages, was committed when you called us. You have forgotten that we are Navagraha (Nine Celestial Planets), not Seven. You have chose to ignore two and I know why. You fear that the North and South Node might Eclipse the Sun and Moon and chose to ignore them. But you have forgotten, they too have purposes and are deserving of contribution.”
This statement angered Sun and the Moon. The great luminaries decided to withdraw if Rahu (North node) and Ketu (South Node) joined, but Jupiter mediated amongst Saturn, Moon and Sun. Jupiter, the Eldest planet vowed to keep the mischievous side planets in check and implored Saturn to return. Saturn then called upon Rahu and Ketu, and a great bodiless head appeared through a storm.
Jupiter came forward and addressed Rahu and said “This hallowed house shall be the home of instruction, of sacred knowledge. We the planets and sages have summoned you to contribute and correct the unjust. Are you willing to help us?” Rahu being the cunning demon that he is, said “yes, upon one condition. I want the highest place amongst all. I am a headless body and my wishes are infinite. It is the only way I would help you all.”
Saturn knew this would happen, he smiled and said “it shall happen” to everyone’s great dismay. It hurt Sun’s pride greatly but knowing Saturn, no one could protest. Jupiter and Saturn then turned to the great headless snake that coiled the entire mountain. When Jupiter addressed it, it said “Greetings my elders, I am glad that my other body, Rahu had his position acquired. But I am most perplexed because I could feel all the pains of creatures, demonic and divine who have been displaced for the creation of this place. Their souls will not leave the place in peace.”
Saturn came forward and asked him, “oh headless body, the giver of results of past life, lord of the isolated, reside as the Vastu Naga and the Bhitti (Foundation) of the hallowed place. Upon your great coil shall the institution stand and the lives lost shall receive the result for their sacrifice.”
With the Ketu entering underground, the head of Rahu had to choice but to reside exactly at the opposite side of his other body. Saturn grabbed Rahu by the hair and said “Sun the the highest light, Jupiter is the Highest Wisdom and none in the universe, not even me can exceed their position in the universe. So reside at your highest place, on the topmost towering peak of this place. I forcibly command you so that you can eclipse every form of mal-spirit and power from above.”
With that done, Saturn returned to the final place and said “and I, Lord of limitation, time and justice, mark the boundary of this place and veil it with the Tamas, so it could be hidden from the common eye.”
The sages were eclectic after the creation. The eldest, Atri said, “heavenly presences, you are the influences that govern the actions, fates and deeds of the world, would you be so kind to reside in this place as guiding principles so that we the Acharya (teachers) and the shishya (pupils) shall prosper in their ways.” Saturn called upon the sages: “so it shall be Illusive sages but do not disregard the shadow planets, Rahu and Ketu, who represent the base and the peak of the house also have the right to represent: I deliver the choice to you.”
“Very well“, said Bhragu, master of Astrology: “Since the shadow planets are unstable on their own, I assign them to the Two Intellectuals: The Head Rahu with Mercury, and the Tail Ketu with Jupiter.“

Hey how are you?
Um actually if it's okay can I get a chart observation please? I love your interpretation so I couldn't resist.
Ty regardless 💖
Here's the chart (sidereal) ↓
Shatabhisha rising : you ha e this insane urge to fix or re invent reshape processes, or appearances.
Like people literally see you as the change maker.
Moon conjunct Pluto in Mula in the 10th? God save the reputation of anyone who tries to destroy your reputation. You're magnetic. And you stand out. Your public image could see some wild transformations.
channel all that angst into art. With your moon and Pluto in the 10th house people would love to see you produce art about emotional wounds. I think it would be well received if you wrote about those subjects.

Your purpose has something to do with self awareness, identity, ego. It's like you're meant to learn to be messy, follow your flow and go where your heart takes you.
That 6° virgo SouthNode (uttara Phalguni) in the 7th house tells me that you need to stop sacrificing your needs for other people. It might be easier for you to just plan and serve the people you attract.
But like that's where your soul is coming from. This lifetime is about learning to let loose and get in touch with your own self.
Be more accepting of who you are.
That 9th house Jupiter tells me you you have good people skills. Could do well in law, or religious studies. But basically you're an authority on interpersonal relationships in away. And people seek your counsel when it comes to philosophy, ideologies and just personal values. Relationship counselor vibes.
You could also be considered exotic (aqua rising) + Jupiter in 9th(moral compass) house in Libra (beautyyyyyyyy)
I think you're someone quite unbiased.
Either that or you easily oscillate between extremes. I'm gonna go with the former.
Also your hubby your fs is probably of a different cultural background.
You attract luck by engaging in creative / artistic /venusian / RahuvIan pursuits since shatabhisha (your jupiter Nakshatra and s Rahu ruled)
Be careful of being indoctrinated into cults.
Moon in Mula : I have like tend if posts on this pnakshtra on my blog. Please look it up.
Your unique personal brand is someone withdrawn. Like a haunted ethereal spirit who possesses some hidden knowledge and only comes out of her mermaid cave once in a while to share some of her wisdom.
Vv creative. Could actually direct a fantasy movie. Rahu is really good with cameras and film. The 9th house is all about the stories we tell. Your 9th house could be your pot of gold hidden in plain sight.
Specially with your Sag 11th house. Sagittarius is the cstoryteller of the Zodiac. Write a book! Or make a movie already
Neat little 6th house cancer stellium you've got there. You probably feel super torn between being all lovey divey and withholding affectionate words.
Mercury in the 6th : you either live going for a wlak by the pool or hate water bodies.
I think you could say a lot without revealing much (crabby shell)
Mars in cancer : so so sweet untill you feel emotionally manipulated.
I've noticed that cancer placements are really sweet and they won't really argue or let on that they can see through other people's shit. You'd probably forgive until you can't take it anymore. Then you'd like idk destroy them.
And no one is gonna think you did it. Like bruh, nobody expects cancer to be violent but if you were to look at studies a bunch of serialkilers have a Mars in cancer. Its deadly.
You're a force of nature. I wouldn't mess with ya 😂 generational Witches's favorite grandchild energy. You're protected.

Well, I hope that helps. Please try to send in north Indian style birth charts next time. Vedic charts aren't really read with placidus placements.
