Why is Lies of P my favorite game ever?

Because it is a game that respects the literature it is based on. Yes, in the end it is different than the book but it still keeps certain important expect alive the the role of Pinocchio, Geppetto and Sophia. Also, naming one character after the autor while also making sure to give that character an important role with an important message... That is just amazing.

Some people could learn from them.

Boomerang is so popular, the other day I was scrolling through the ssktjl tag and there was so much boomerang content I thought I was in his tag, it kills me that this game is getting overhated he could be having so much more content coming out 😭

I think the problem for a lot of people is that the game takes place in the Arkham game universe. I also believe it could have been a game on its own and didn't need to be attached to any other franchise.

Plus, a lot of people were upset about Batman's death, but actually, it didn't bother me that much. I was much more shocked by Superman's death, which I find impossible to happen. For me, just like Flash having some lucidity moments (like when speaking to Wonder Woman...) I believe Batman had that lucidity moment, and that's why he let Harley kill him so easily. Cause he knew it was the only way to save earth from Brainiac. He knew he couldn't be redeemed. I know a lot of people will come after me for saying this, but that's just my opinion, everyone can have a different opinion, it's OK 👍🏻.

Also, I cried so much when Wonder Woman died. You can tell Boomer is so conflicted, he don't know how to react. Maybe he had the 'survivor syndrome'. And the fact Harley stayed by her side until she disappeared, yeah I cried hard.

All of this, to say that I agree with you, the game receives a lot of hate for almost no reason. Mostly because I believe the squad was the only real interesting thing about the game. CAPTAIN BOOMERANG was one of the only interesting things about the game. The dev team really puts a lot of effort into his character. That's why he is everywhere. That's why I honestly think he wouldn't have more content even if the game was more loved. Because, everyone who loves him, is already creating amazing art and writing about him. His Boomerang Nation is already by his side.

i actually think it’s so significant that disco elysium is named after an optional side quest. because the heart of the game is in the margins. same way you don’t get the real ending if you don’t do the (let’s face it, sometimes annoying and disincentivised) cryptozoologist quest line. you have to care about the world and its people, not just grinding through the mystery, to ever really understand anything. which is exactly what the game of suzerainty tells you IF you don’t try to “win”

I am not saying the vaccinator is not absolutely broken, I 100% feel dirty using it against a badly coordinated team, hence I wouldn't mind if it received a nerf in the future.

A lot of people analyse the vaccinator as only useful against a badly coordinated enemy team, but I think it's much better as a weapon for when your own team sucks ass has bad synergy, since any form of uber is pretty much wasted on everyone (if you can even build enough charge). To compensate for everyone's mistakes, just make sure they stay alive long enough to capture points and push the cart. Everyone will automatically stay with you, and soon you'll have a nice meat shield of 4 people swarming around you. You know it's working, when there's suddenly 3 demoknights and a spy after you.

I love micromanaging my resistance bubbles, and I love micromanaging my team without them noticing that I'm doing it. Pressing the R-button to rotate through resistances feels like such a much more engaging contribution to the battles your patients are fighting.

Vaccinator is busted, but absolutely not boring.

Oblivion has the weirdest aesthetic choices going on. Everything is super bright and saturated, the characters look silly and almost bordering on cartoonish, and the voice acting and delivery tends to be pretty silly. The whole things has such a strong classic fantasy vibe compared to the other tes games, but also there's a bunch of realistic gore and rotting corpses and really dark questlines with gross visuals (for the quality of those visuals). it's such a weird game.

Hosea and Dutch did good by saving John and Arthur, but that doesn't automatically make them faultless parents.

They molded Arthur and John into ideal outlaws who obeyed them (intentional or not). So much so that BOTH Arthur and John ended up prioritizing the gang over their literal children + the mothers of their children.

Arthur never actually made it out of the outlaw life. John struggled for 8 years trying to leave behind old habits. You cannot tell me that wasn't a direct product of Dutch and Hosea raising them.

I doubt they had any malicious intent, but that doesn't absolve them of everything. I think a big thing rdr fans tend to do is favor intent over the actual results of a character's actions.

It's explicitly clear that the cycle of violence didn't begin with John and proceed with Jack, it began with Hosea and Dutch.

every time i watch anything with him in it (admittingly, predominantly from the Dropout app), i am reminded that Lou Wilson is the most handsome man to have ever lived. like, objectively. he just is. i will hear no arguments for any other person to be ranked higher. Lou Wilson: whose face single-handedly shows humanity can go no higher in beauty. he is THE most attractive man in the world. argue with the wall lmao

Finally have time to gather my thoughts about th David chapter and other than Kayleigh Day being an icon, I really only have one major point:

The fandom has beat the horse dead on how badly the foxes treat Kevin in the face of all his trauma vs Neil, but considering the implications of what Kevin says about Betsy, I think its safe to say the reason they don't seem to take his trauma seriously enough is because they really don't know the full extent of how bad it was.

It seems Kevin is conditioned in a similar way Jean is to absolutely never speak about what was done to him. The Foxes know about Riko breaking his hand, that he was raised as more property than a family member, and that the Ravens are a mafia-run cult because they need to know if Kevin is going to be on the team and endangering them all by association, but past that it sounds like Kevin hasn't really told anyone about the full extent of his abuse. It's implied he got off lighter than Jean and Neil, but we don't really know how much and based on the fact that he becomes an alcoholic who can barely think about Riko without having a breakdown within a year of being free, I'd say it was probably still pretty bad.

There isnt really have a conclusion we're getting to here, it's just something I've been thinking about that clears up a lot of the Foxes' seemingly overly callous attitude towards Kevin. I'm hoping it means with more healing and opening up, he can eventually have an actual support network outside of a bottle of vodka and a spouse who never unlearns her cult conditioning.
