I wanted to share my Mother's story, to show how strong of a Woman she truly is. September of 2023, my Mother, who has Multiple Sclerosis, an autoimmune disease, was taken to the emergency room by my Father after several months of her continuous confusion, inability to walk, and mis-remembering important things. While I looked after our Dogs, hours had passed before my Father called me and told me to gather my older Siblings. He told us that the doctors found a tumor in her brain, and our worlds just shattered. We were terrified. She needed to stay in the hospital to get a biopsy done, and my Father was keeping me up-to-date with what was happening. Despite the words I used below, I was terrified. I tried to keep things light for my Dad, but it never got any lighter.
After her biopsy, we as a Family agreed that Thanksgiving will not be celebrated until she came back home. When she did, we took extra good care of her, and we reassured her that even though we had to cut her hair, she was still so very beautiful. When the biopsy results came in, we found out that it was a rare type of cancer, one that even didn't have a name yet. We were in shock, all of us. This was supposed to happen in movies, not real life. It hurt to know that my Mother, who already struggled with MS, Optic-Neuritis, and the recent loss of her Son, my older Brother, had cancer. We weren't sure what would happen next. Her surgery had to be re-scheduled because some fucking dumbass at the hospital cancelled her important surgery without even calling. Her job was quickly taken from her soon after, though we never got any names. Finally, on February 2nd, 2023, my Mother underwent brain surgery to remove Herb, as she called her tumor. But I remember that day so very vividly. I remember her telling me goodbye, that she loved me so very much, and that she never regretted having any of us children. It hurt to have to say goodbye to her, like she was going to pass away during surgery. I'm sobbing as I write this. It still hurts so very much. But her surgery was a success, and she came back home after several days in the hospital. Then, she went through radiation therapy for quite a while which actually caused her hair to curl like Sheep's wool when it grew back. But recently, she had an MRI done where they found a spot on her brain. We were all terrified it was cancer again. Today, she had her first MRI of the year, and we received the results not too long ago. It isn't cancer. It's only demyelination, but the best part is that it shrunk by pure miracle. I don't want to push my Religion, but I thank God that He took care of her, helped her pull through these tough times, and healed her. He is truly incredible. And I'm so proud of my Mom for beating cancer.

So often in media, when abuse is talked about, the little boys in the household are shown to be combative - the "protector" of the family (an utterly depraved and insane idea). What makes Simon's younger self portrayal so special to me is that he's none of these things as a child. He was scared, timid, because he was just a kid in a horrifying situation. Being a male should not strip you of the right to involuntary responses that come with being abused.
This is not to say that the former example does not exist in the real world, because it very much does - it's just usually the only example of a young boy in an abusive household. Though the themes itself are not pleasant, I am incredibly happy to see representation of the quote-on-quote "softer" side of men who faced abuse growing up.
#Simon is very well written all together#so so good seeing the big strong man archetype with stress responses associated with women because its REALISTIC.#there is one scene where Simon gets physical with his father - when he himself is grown and in the military and his father is ill#off the top of my head i csnt remember the specific reasoning why Simon snapped but thats not the reason i brought it up#every other chance Simon gets he actively chooses to avoid his father as much as humanely possible#we see multiple scenes where his mother is encourging him to at least say goodbye to him#and Simon adamantly (rightfully) refuses because his father's presence makes him unwell to his core#he is not a fight response guy to me. hardcore flighter#avoidance - workaholic - NEEDS to be busy - etc#hate hate HATE when the fandom sees him as an angry guy. simon is genuinely not an aggressive person at his core#i mean fuck... he doesnt even try to get revenge on roba after he's escaped - not until roba has wronged people he loved#and... he didnt torture him. not even a little. it wouldve been a very clean death if roba hadnt run#simon is a level 100 avoider when it comes to harm befallen him#my points of this post are: 1. simon riley is incredibly important to me as an abuse victim#2. simon riley is incredibly important all together and amazing representation of an abuse survivor#Call of Duty#COD: Modern Warfare#Simon Riley#[ RJ ]#[ SEMI-AUTOMATIC MOUTH ]

Wild idea: Alex Jones was one of Azazel's Special Children that he made just for funsies.
Research I didn't actually have to do but did: The Special Children Activation happened between 2006-2007 and Alex was kidnapped by Celia from her family smack-dab in the middle of that. 😃
#Eric Kripke did... did you want to get into that if Wayward Sisters got picked up?#Alex is so Sam-coded from being the younger 'sister' to her appearance to wanting a normal life you Gotta give her double blood weirdness#Imagine being 12 - we're starting off strong with the Horrors - and having awful migraines and dreams about monsters#And then one night monsters pour into your home and at first you're calm because you think it's another nightmare#But then you feel the warmth of your mother's blood on that wild-eyed woman's palm on your cheek and you realize It's Real#And you live in the nightmares now and you've gotta learn to love the monsters in order to survive#...Not to disappoint but... This Is Still About Lucifer in Wayward Sisters#Lucifer realizes that Alex is one of Azazel's kids like Sam and but he knows how Sam felt about the demon blood#[Sam sharing withdrawal symptoms in the Cage before Castiel yoinked their body]#So the math is 'Demon blood = powerful Sad human but Azazel = demon + pinch of my grace so I gotta give Alex my blood to fix it'#Something something Alex gets so much grace wrapped around her soul that it sings in pitches Claire can hear and she gets tiny wings#And Lucifer gets to groom her teensy useless wings and she's a new type of monster that they're just calling pure. Neither human nor angel#Lucifer and Alex get to be a little fucked up in this take there's a point where Lucifer is slipping his blood in her food#And another where he's stabbing a crazy straw into his heart for her. Also maybe Alex ate human flesh as a preteen. Who can say?#Important to note that Lucifer Didn't Know Alex would get Great Value Angel'd he just does Experiments sometimes.#It's how he made Lilith and the Princes and Cain he's just gonna give some humans incredible power and see if they blow up#He started real small and responsibly on the archangel blood (possibly had a trial run first Alex is Special to him)#Neither Azazel's blood nor Lucifer's blood makes Alex a perfect vessel for Lucifer but she gets tuned into Angel vision at some point

"Not actually out but also no one who sees me doesn't think that there's something going on" is a fun state to be in
#not out *except to my two friends. partially. but in general y'know#it's generally a very negative thing and something that frustrates me and makes me feel awful etc etc etc especially because i'm very#limited in what i can do/wear/etc as it is and this. suspension. is incredibly annoying#but every so often i try to look at the funny side. even though there's quite a lot of frustration in there too#(--_--)#mytext#like. fuck me for having so many issues with my mother but it is what it is. and idk i cannot even begin to imagine living your life#without ever questioning things like ''common sense'' or the reasoning behind ''how things are''#and without getting into the sexuality bit (she thinks that i'm a lesbian but still clings in terror to the hope that i'm not. that's it)#one of our most common convos is ''women shouldn't [x]'' ''who decided that women shouldn't >x]?'' ''*evades the question*''#and it drives me craaazy craaaaaazyyyyy. ''have you ever once in your life not assumed that you were an inherently inferior human?'' ''no''#and that's one half of it the other half of it is me being constantly forced into these pointless arguments when i'm just doing whatever#and want to be whoever. like idgaf that you can't possibly begin to imagine gender being anything but Pussy Girl Pink and Dick Boy Blue#but let me live my life at least#i think if i one day straight up told her that my not so strong connection to womanhood partially if not mainly has to do with me being#okay with lesbians being attracted to me than it has with whatever else she would explode#on that matter it's a shame that uoma isn't one of the fun slurs that got/are getting reclaimed but instead kinda disappeared and wasn't#that common to begin with overall because coincidentally i like it a lot ^_^ <3

I ??? woke up at 3am with this scene fully written in my mind palace and quickly jotted it down in the Notes app
*
Clark’s shaking his head before he realizes he’s doing it, and feels a twinge of embarrassment at his own bad manners when Bruce stops mid-word to look at him, brows raised.
“No?” he says.
“No,” Clark says, again without thinking, and again with the reflexive urge to apologize. Somewhere his mother is tutting without knowing why. But he doesn’t apologize, because he’s already saying, “No, it can’t—it can’t be that.”
“Okay,” Bruce says slowly. “Can you elaborate?”
He is, honestly, having trouble taking his eyes off the screen. The mockup design of his new suit is there, dark and sleek, ridged like tactical gear. The blue is like the last shade of evening before you can’t call it evening anymore, the color of nine PM in Kansas in July, so exact there’s a strong chance Bruce color-picked it from a photo. The yellow accents are the cool fluorescent yellow-green of lightning bugs. The red is dark as arterial blood. Every aspect of the suit has been updated—the colors deeper, the angles sharper, the S extending to the corners of its frame—but Bruce has done it without changing the fundamentals. It’s immediately recognizable as the Superman suit, just… well, a little cooler, maybe. A little more of the times. Even the tailoring is modernized. The neckline. The shape of the boots. Where the belt hits at the waist. Clark can tell just by looking that Bruce has not only spent a lot of time on this in general, he’s spent a lot of time designing it specifically with Clark in mind, Clark’s needs and preferences and the small discomforts of his current suit, things he might have mentioned offhand after a mission but never with the assumption that Bruce was listening or filing it away. No doubt the next slides of this presentation will detail all the hidden features of the new suit, and they’ll all be incredibly thoughtful if not slightly overkill, and Bruce will pretend his sole motive here was practicality and risk reduction and respond to any thanks with a curt nod.
And Clark wants to thank him. He will. It’s just.
“It can’t be… cool,” he says, inane. Bruce is watching him with that steady look that used to feel clinical, piercing, and now mostly reads as attentive. “It can’t be—like yours. Tactical, military-grade.”
“Lightyears beyond, actually.”
“It has to—Ma said once, a kid should be able to draw it with crayons. You know? I can’t look like a weapon. I have to—I want to look like a friend.”
He can feel himself flushing. It’s rare that he speaks like this, and rarer still that he does so while being stared at intently. Bruce may think of himself as the darkness, but his gaze is a spotlight: unwavering and revealing and more a little sweat-inducing, for one reason or another.
“Sometimes, when I show up, people laugh,” Clark says. “If it’s somewhere out of the way, where they haven’t seen me before. I show up and I look like a festival performer. It’ll be the worst day of their lives, and they’ve got no reason to trust my face, but when they see what I’m wearing—it goes from ‘Who are you?’ to ‘Who is this guy?’ And that’s a good thing.”
“Hard to be afraid of a man dressed in primary colors,” Bruce says, almost to himself.
“Exactly.”
“I see. Thank you,” he says, “for explaining.”
Clark tries not to show how surprised he is to hear that. Judging by the crook of Bruce’s mouth, his success is negligible. “Of course. Sorry I didn’t—I mean, thank you, obviously, for going to such trouble. I didn’t mean to come in here and—I really do appreciate it, I can tell you put a lot of work in—”
Bruce’s eyes cut away. “No. No need. I didn’t ask, before I…. It was only a first draft. If you’re amenable, I’ll incorporate your feedback into the second one.”
“Oh! Yeah. Yes, of course, but you really don’t have to—”
“If you have any further notes, I would like to hear them.”
There’s something determined in the lines of his face. Clark has the sense that this moment is important, that it’s a turning point, even if he’s not sure why. It feels like striking out into a sea of ice, a blank white expanse under which something precious and vital is hidden, has been hidden all along, just waiting for him to find it. To want to.
“Sure,” he says. He looks back at the suit and swallows, and knows Bruce will see the flicker of his throat and take some meaning from it, and wishes he knew what the meaning was. Or maybe Bruce won’t notice or read into it at all. Maybe Clark needs to calm down, in fact. “Um. I don’t want to assume, but does it… do things?”
“It does things,” Bruce confirms, after the barest pause. “Let me show you the next slide.”
#superbat#my writing#i was genuinely surprised to wake up and discover i hadn’t just dreamed the whole thing

Because everyone should watch this insane piece of history:
youtube
The veterinarian, Thomas Swerczek, was called in last minute to do the necropsy - his son has just been in an accident and was in critical condition in the hospital. Out of respect he did a surgical necropsy, keeping the horse intact as much as possible. It was only on a whim that they inspected the heart. He didn't have any of the usual equipment with him, so the heart wasn't actually weighed. But it was estimated, based on thousands of previous necropsies, that the heart must have been 20-22 pounds - more than twice the weight of a usual Thoroughbred's heart. His rival and half cousin Sham (who likely would have won the Triple Crown if he hadn't been racing against Secretariat) *did* have his heart weighed, and was 18 pounds. It has been theorized (though not in any way proven) that the gene for this enlarged heart may be x-chromosome linked, and only passed down through the female line (Sham and Secretariat's mothers were half sisters).
Swerczek and his wife spent the next 22 years caring for their son, who remained in a coma until he died. Really interesting read
#I have strong feelings about horse racing in general#But can't deny how incredible this athlete who happened to be a horse was#Secretariat#horse racing#I remember my mother talking about watching this with just *awe* in her voice#Youtube

“You Want to Adopt Me?”

♡ — SUMMARY: You & GOJO decide to adopt Yuji & Megumi.
♡ — A/N: This is a continuation of my dad!gojo au, but reading the other parts isn’t necessary.
♡ — WC: 2k

Four hours had passed since the glorious moment in which Yuji discovered that his beloved teacher had a wife and daughter.
And, after having dinner with all of you that evening, he never wanted to leave.
Walking home that night — all alone, with no family around who would care whether or not he was safe — was one of the most difficult things he had to do. It made curse fighting seem like child’s play.
It was so utterly painful; he fought to hold back a tear as he walked down the sidewalk, staring at his shoes, which he could only see thanks to the dim streetlights.
Truth be told, he hated himself for getting so emotional over this.
Most, if not all of his friends were just as lonely as he was. Most of them didn’t sit at a dinner table and gobble down a nice warm meal with a loving family.
Most of them didn’t have a mother to hug them, or a father to cheer them up. And, if their parents were still around, they were probably distant and unloving.
Even so, it didn’t change the fact that having a family was, perhaps, the one thing Yuji truly wanted.
He just wanted to be loved.
The ache in his heart was so incredibly strong. The pain shot throughout his chest, through his veins, and down to his fingertips.
“Why am I so emotional? I can’t cry over this,” Yuji thought. “This isn’t something worth crying over.”
An unwavering lump in his throat formed from his attempts at holding back a cry.
That was when his footsteps came to a halt.
What was the point in rushing back to his lonely, isolating room at the school?
No one was waiting for him. He could go anywhere he wanted, and no one would truly miss him.
People would look for him, but mainly because of their obligation as sorcerers to track down Sukuna’s vessel. Nothing more.
Some people would actually prefer it if Yuji did disappear. And a few people were honest enough to tell him that to his face.
As he stood there, in the dark, alone on the sidewalk on such a cold night, he couldn’t help but wonder if his friends would secretly be happy if he did somehow vanish into thin air.
Maybe loneliness was destined for him. Maybe everyone would feel safer if he didn’t return to the school. Maybe-
“Hey, Yuji!”
Gojo’s voice startled the young boy, who instantly turned around to see his teacher approaching him, his hands in his pockets. “You didn’t make it too far — good.”
“Is everything okay?” Yuji asked.
Gojo could hear the sadness in his voice, but he decided not to comment on it. After all, he knew exactly why his student was upset. He didn’t have to be a genius to figure it out.
“Yeah, listen,” Gojo paused, “it’s pretty cold and dark out here. Why don’t you come back to my house and stay the night? We can both head back to the school in the morning.”
For a moment, Yuji felt a spark of happiness, but that spark quickly fizzled out.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Yuji frowned. “I’m a vessel. I’m dangerous. Having me sleep in the same house as your wife and kid would be-”
“Would be fine,” Gojo interrupted. “Nothing bad is going to happen, Yuji. Me and Y/N both know that you’re a vessel, and we want you to come anyway.”
Yuji didn’t respond. Nor did he move an inch. Gojo spoke once again.
“She wants to make you pancakes in the morning,” he said in a tempting tone. “Homemade too. The kind that has the crispy edges, but are very soft and fluffy at the same time? We have syrup and butter — orange juice as well. Or do you prefer apple juice? We have both, either way. Not to mention, the bed in our guest bedroom is bigger and way more comfortable than the one at the school-“
“Okay!” Yuji suddenly smiled happily, and it was a real, genuine grin.
He quickly rushed past Gojo, making his way back to your warm, cozy home eagerly.
—
Seven months later, Yuji visited your home as often as he could. Sometimes, Megumi would tag along with him, as the dark-haired boy secretly craved a connection with a loving family too, even if he’d never admit it.
On this particular day, Megumi was lying on the couch, covered in blankets as he watched a movie about two princesses going on some sort of adventure.
Megumi was injured during his last mission, and thanks to the chilly weather, he was also catching a bit of a cold as well. You insisted upon taking care of him, but your daughter insisted that making him watch Barbie movies all afternoon would make him feel better.
As the two of them watched the movie together, you were in the kitchen, standing over your wooden cutting board as you chopped up carrots, onions, and celery.
Yuji hovered over the sink, washing the dishes.
“I want you to have some soup as well, Yuji. You could catch a cold any day now.”
“Yes ma’am,” Yuji said, scrubbing a plate as he smiled softly. “I really appreciate it.”
Suddenly, the front door opened, and Gojo walked in, shouting casually, “I’m home, everyone!”
Quick, soft footsteps could be heard pattering against the floor as your daughter ran up to Gojo, holding her arms out.
“Daddy! You’re home!” She giggled as he lifted her.
“I’ve missed my little muffin so much,” tickling her, he said, “did you have a good day? I think my little girl has grown a couple of inches since I last saw her this morning! Did she grow? Hm?”
The sound of your daughter’s laughter made Gojo smile brightly.
As he held her, he walked into the living room and ruffled Megumi’s hair.
“Cut it out,” the teenager frowned.
“Good to see you too,” Gojo paused, pressing the back of his hand against Megumi’s forehead. “You’ve cooled down a little since this morning, that’s good. I’ll give you some more medicine later on, okay?”
“Okay,” Megumi mumbled.
Gojo slowly put his daughter down. “I’m gonna go say hi to Mom, okay? Keep an eye on Megumi for me.”
“Okay!” Your daughter happily replied. “I can keep an eye on Meg-mi!”
When Gojo made his way into the kitchen, ruffling Yuji’s hair as the boy walked passed him on his way to join Megumi and your daughter in the living room, you instantly stopped chopping your vegetables.
You wrapped your arms around your husband’s neck.
“Hi baby,” he greeted, kissing your lips softly. “I missed you.”
“Missed you too,” with a smile, you looked into his eyes. “Did you have a good day? Kill any curses?”
“I had a great day. Didn’t kill any curses, though. I was just stuck in a bunch of meetings with the higher-ups,” Gojo said softly, his face only inches from yours, his hands on your hips. “What’s on your mind? You have that look in your eyes.”
“Well,” you paused. “I know they’re teenagers, and they’re very strong and independent, but . . . I can’t help but feel protective over those boys. I love them both like they’re my own. Last week, Yuji accidentally called me mom. He was just so excited when he saw the new clothes I got him for winter, and it slipped out. And it just made me think that, well . . . Maybe he should be able to call me mom. Both he and Megumi. I wanna adopt them.”
Gojo was silent for a moment, which made you frown a bit in worry. Suddenly, he kissed your pouty lips. It was a soft, passionate kiss — one that told you just how much he loved you.
“I think that’s a great idea,” he mumbled against your lips once he pulled away.
“I just think that those boys deserve a place to call home, and that school certainly isn’t it, especially when the people who run it don’t care about their lives at all. It’s just horrible.” Your frown deepened. “And we have more than enough room here, too. We can keep them safe and happy.”
“Let’s go tell them.”
—
Yuji, Megumi, and your daughter were all sitting in the living room, enjoying each other’s company.
The sight of it only confirmed that you and Gojo were making the right decision.
“Hey, we need to talk to you three,” Gojo said.
Megumi grabbed the remote, switching off the television as he struggled to sit upright.
“What’s going on?” Yuji asked, sitting on the floor as your daughter sat down beside him.
“Well, we noticed that you and Megumi have been spending a lot of time here recently.”
Gojo’s words sent an all too familiar heartache through Yuji’s chest. He frowned sadly.
“They’re about to tell me to go away,” Yuji thought. “I knew this wouldn’t last.”
“Me and Gojo decided that it would be best for-”
“It’s okay. You don’t have to explain. I get it. I can leave.” Yuji suddenly cut you off, trying his best to hide his pain behind a smile. Slowly, he started to get up, and your daughter grabbed ahold of his pants leg, looking up at him sadly. “I’m sorry if I was a bother. Thanks for everything.”
“Woah, Yuji, where are you going?” You called out, watching the teenager head for the front door.
“Yuji, stop,” Gojo stood up from his seat.
Yuji, who was almost out of the living room, instantly stopped walking. But he didn’t turn back around.
Quiet sniffles could be heard. No matter how hard he fought, or how much he had been through, he wasn’t strong enough to hold back his tears.
The pain of feeling unwanted was simply too great.
He tried to wipe his tears away quickly and silence his little sobs, as he didn’t want to make you and Gojo feel guilty for not wanting a dangerous vessel like him around.
Slowly, Gojo approached his crying student. “Yuji, you have it all wrong. We don’t want you to go anywhere.”
Yuji didn’t respond.
Gojo placed a comforting hand on the crying boy’s head.
“Me and Y/N are going to adopt you,” Gojo smiled. “Looks like you’re my son now.”
“We wanna adopt you too, Megumi,” you said, smiling at the stunned teenager. “We want you to be our son too.”
“I don’t get it — why?” Megumi asked rather sadly. The pain of being unwanted.
“Because we love and care about both of you, so why not?” You said.
“You guys . . . You want to adopt me?” Yuji turned around, his wide, glassy eyes shiny with utter shock. “This isn’t some sort of prank, is it?”
“Of course not,” Gojo grinned at Yuji, before turning his attention towards his daughter, who was starting to tear up when she saw that Yuji was about to leave. “You’re going to have two new brothers, muffin!”
Your daughter smiled brightly, standing up and she ran over to the couch, throwing her arms across Megumi to hug him. Then, she ran up to Yuji with open arms, and he bent down and hugged his future little sister.
“This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Yuji said, flickering his eyes between you and Gojo. “Thank you. Thank you so much. I promise that I’ll be the greatest son ever!”
Megumi, who stared at his lap as he tried to process everything, suddenly spoke up.
“Thank you for everything,” he mumbled. “I really . . . Thank you.”
“Let’s have a group hug!” Yuji happily suggested.
“Great idea,” Gojo added on just as excitedly. “Everyone pile on top of Megumi since he can’t come to us.”
“Wait, wait, wait-“
Megumi’s new family instantly rushed over to the couch, hugging him and giving him more love than he could handle.
Truthfully, he had no idea how to begin processing this level of happiness, but he looked forward to learning what joy was like.
When Yuji cried this time, he didn’t bother stopping the tears. The warm and silly embrace was healing his soul in ways he didn’t know were possible.
His dream had come true — everything he ever wanted.
Yuji sighed in contentment as the hugging continued, a tear rolling down his cheek.
“Finally,” he said with relief.
He finally had a family.

Guild wars 2 is so stressful how dare you keep asking me to make decisions in this video game I can't handle this responsibility
#as far as this decision goes I think I'll have to choose the option someone else brought up on my other post hsfzhfhfs#I'm trying to make these decisions in character . the issue is I'm not entirely sure what amarbel's character is yet#main thing about his character to me so far: he was basically just born#doesn't know a lot about the world yet but has already fully accepted his wyld hunt. he doesn't know anything else#as far as these decisions I think he leans more towards minimizing risk. he's a small and slight man. and a caster#not incredibly physically imposing. he relies more on his charm#though he is strong in necromancy magic#that's been an interesting thing to consider story-wise. the sylvari deal with a lot of undead enemies#i think the way they see him is something like ''the mother tree chose him to fight them specifically because his skills are so similar''#like amarbel was born to fight fire with fire. or something. even so i feel like it unnerves some of the sylvari that he's a necromancer#gw2#.txt

The Wolf and The Rabbit

Cregan Stark x Reader
Summary: The meeting between the wolf and the rabbit never ended well. The wolf would devour the poor rabbit in seconds. And yet, this wolf would never harm the poor bunny.
When your betrothal was announced, it came as a surprise to you.
Cregan Stark is a feared warrior and for a reason.
He was brutal and killed men without a flinch. His sword drowned in the blood of men.
And yet, it was you he chose as his wife.
You have only met him once, when you were very young, both of you were actually. At the time, he called you a scared little bunny.
You didn't pay much attention to him, you only stayed in his father's Kingdom for a couple of days.
Sure, your house might not be as strong as his, but you held a great name. With a proud father and mother, you were a true Lady.
A Lady who was now declared to become the wife of Cregan.
"But Father, why me?" you asked your father who looked so proud.
"The word came from him, he chose you as his future wife."
"But... why?" you asked rather quietly as you looked at your mother.
"It doesn't matter why. He chose you, it is all that matters." your mother replied.
And soon, you were in a carriage, being delivered to him, wearing your finest dress.
You looked out of the small window of the carriage, letting out a long sigh.
"Why me?" was the question in the back of your head at all times.
As the carriage moved down the road, in between the trees, heading further and further North.
You knew he would be waiting for you.
He would be standing there.
You wondered how he looked, how he had been since you had last seen him.
From the tales, you knew he was fierce and strong. You couldn’t imagine what he looked like. As a young son, he was often told how he would be handsome.
You couldn’t see it. But you were only a child, now you were a woman.
Things might have changed.
You at least hoped they did.
You let out a sigh as you got closer and closer. The nervousness grew deeper and deeper in your heart as you got closer.
Soon, you arrived and the door to your carriage opened. The cold immediately hit you.
It wasn’t the kind of cold when you could see your breath, but you knew what was coming.
Winter.
Not so different from your home.
Home.
This was your home now.
This will be your home now.
You grabbed the servant's hand as you got out and soon, you saw him.
His hair was shaved on the sides. He was handsome.
Damn him.
Even from afar, you could tell, he looked handsome.
He wore fur over his clothes, keeping him warm as he stood tall and proud.
He rolled his shoulders back as he saw you. You could see how he let out a sigh.
“Lord Stark, I am here to announce you, Lady Y/L/N from the House of Y/L/N. As you wished, your bride is presented to you.”
You bowed your head as you were introduced to him. You didn't look up or anywhere, but soon, you did look up.
Your eyes locked with him for the first time in a long while.
How cold and dark his were.
“How could I forget this Little Bunny.” He said with a smirk for a smile.
You just kept your eyes on him.
“My Lord.” You said as you waited for him to lead you into his home.
Lord of Winterfell had a home which looked incredible.
Snow has melted in some places, yet it is still present.
You liked it.
You were left in the hands of a servant who showed you the castle, The Great Keep.
And finally, your room.
"Lord Stark was very adamant about your sleeping arrangements," she said before she opened the door to his chambers. It was his. There were no questions about it in your mind.
The room felt and smelled like a man. It made you very nervous.
You were about to be a wife, his wife. It was up to you to make the Stark name strong and give him children. And that petrified you to no end.
“Why me?” you still asked yourself.
Even when you were left alone to catch a breath, your mind was running.
Soon, you were asked to join him during dinner.
You sat in the chair right next to him, to his right as he sat at the head of the table.
It was a feast, so many different food was placed in front of you, fruits you have never seen.
"I had them make everything as I do not know what you like, as of yet." his voice sounded strangely soft.
It almost didn't fit him.
And yet it did.
His eyes didn't meet yours, he only focused on the food in front of him.
"Thank you." you suddenly said, surprising both of you as you began to eat.
"Wine?" he asked and you nodded as a servant poured you a glass. "It is one which your father sent. Hopefully, it will make you feel more at home."
"Thank you," you said once more as you continued to eat. What felt like the first time in forever, you ate as much as you wished.
"You sure can eat." he suddenly said and you became aware of everything all at once.
"I'm sorry," you said as you pushed your plate and looked at him. "It is just... delicious."
"I'm happy you like it, I didn't mean to make you stop or anything," he said as he pushed the plate back in front of you.
"Oh, okay," you said as you continued to eat. Occasionally you looked at him, only to see that he was avoiding your eyes.
You wondered why he was doing it. You wanted to ask, ask how he ended up choosing you from all the women he could have chosen, he chose you.
Out of all the princesses and ladies, he wanted you. But why?
You will have to find out one way or another.
But for now, you were taken to get washed even if you insisted that you were more than capable of doing it yourself.
You were quick to learn that Cregan Stark didn’t like the answer no.
And so, as you were bathing you asked one of the servants, “What kind of a man is Lord Stark?”
The servants looked at you with a smile.
“He is a wonderful ruler.” One of them said.
“I wish to know the real answer, not a political one, please.”
“He is a good man. A true warrior, he is always practising his sword, and he is a great leader. He always keeps his word. He will be a good husband.”
She did look as if she was telling the truth. At least that helped you to some degree.
But even if it wasn’t true, you feared that she would have not told you. After all, who would?
You knew the two of you would share a room, maybe you could get to know him more intimately.
At least you hoped to, but as soon as you got into bed, the soft furs embraced you and you almost immediately began to fall asleep.
You woke up the next morning.
His side of the bed was cold, which made you wonder if he even slept.
You were dressed in warm and beautiful fur as you headed out to the garden.
Although winter was almost here, and every tree and flower lost their colour, you still enjoyed the garden very much.
The lady who showed you around kept telling you stories about the garden and soon, you entered the training grounds.
"My Lady, we probably shouldn't be here," she said but you just dismissed her and continued on.
You didn't want these men to think that you were only a decoration, a pretty little thing too afraid of some blood and sweat.
But what you found rather interesting was Cregan. He was in the middle of practising his sword and all you could focus on was his muscles as he moved.
"Princess," he said when he saw you.
You were not a princess, you told him before, but he didn't care.
"What brings you here?" he asked.
"I'm having a walk. L-"
"Let me show you around," he said as he left to quickly put his sword down. You looked at the servant who had been walking with you, she simply bowed and left without another word.
You stood there as the men kept staring at you. You tried to softly smile at them as they kept murmuring between one another.
You knew those looks too well.
It made you so uncomfortable.
Finally, Cregan arrived back and you two quickly left the training grounds as he guided you back to his home.
"Do you believe in soulmates, Princess?" he suddenly asked and you looked at him in shock.
"Soulmates?"
"When I was a young pup, my mother told me a story. She said that every person is born as a half and it is up to them to find their other half. You see, she said in the beginning, men and women were one, but we angered the Gods and they separated the whole into two. It is said all of us a doomed to find our other half. And many of us don't while others do."
"I do remember my mother told me the same story."
"Then you must understand my feelings. When I first saw you. We were young and I didn't know back then what my feelings meant. However, now I do. We were meant to be. We are soulmates."
"You must be joking, Sir Stark. How can you believe that?"
"I believe it because I feel it. Do you not?"
"I-" You didn't want to say no, because truth be told, you never actually thought about it. But if you were honest with yourself, you did feel a certain pull towards him. "I'm not sure. Is this why you chose me as your bride?"
"Who else could I choose but you?" weirdly, you understood him, you should have thought he was crazy.
And yet you didn’t.
In your heart, this all felt so right.
“I used to watch you, Princess. Even as a young boy, I knew, there was something special between us. I asked for your hand in marriage because of this connection which I believe in. Do you also feel it?" he looked so hopeful.
His eyes shone as he took a step closer and held both of your hands in his.
"I asked your father for your hand but now, I ask you, Princess. Will you marry me?" you took a deep breath.
"You say such sweet things. Talking about destiny and love, Lord Stark, but how do I know you are truthful? How do I know your words are more than a deception to get closer to my family?"
"I had a feeling you would fear as such. It is why I tried to best my home with the things you like, to properly welcome you. Since I cannot share my feelings with you. I had a new library put in, since a garden in this weather would not hold."
"I will be your wife, Lord." you suddenly said. "Not because of your library or garden, but I do feel the same you claim to. And I'm tired of pretending that I don't. Ever since we were children, I never forgot about you. Even if it was so long ago." you looked into his eyes and they shined with happiness.
"My Love, I promise you will not regret being open about this. I plan on keeping you safe and happy. And tomorrow, after our wedding, I will give you an eternity filled with joy and love."
You believed him, you really did, after all he sounded extremely sincere.
You placed your hands on his chest as he pulled you in for a hug.
You knew this was the beginning of your forever with him.
---
The wedding went well. Suspiciously well.
You expected some kind of disaster.
But nothing.
You two were wed, and celebrated along with the guests.
Your parents were proud of you, you could see it in their eyes, but they also told you multiple times.
You danced, drank and had an amazing time at your wedding.
It was the very first time your husband kissed you and it felt as if everything just fell into place.
As if all of your hidden feelings came to the surface.
Then, years passed.
You heard of a war coming and you feared the worst.
You were with your first child when the news about the Dance of the Dragons came to Winterfell.
Prince Jacaerys Velaryon came to ask your husband for his help during the war.
Of course, Cregan promised the Prince his men and sword.
"What bothers you, My Love?" he asked the same night, in the dark of your chambers as he sat on the bed while you stared at the fire.
"I fear my child will grow up without a father."
"I know how much you hate war, My Queen, but-"
"No buts Cregan, I understand why war is coming and I understand why you choose to partake."
"Then you must understand, I am doing it for our child and their future." he stood up and knelt on the floor in front of you. "I promise you, I will be back before our son is born."
"Or daughter." he laughed a little.
"Or little princess. You are right."
You put your hand on his cheek, running your thumb along his cheekbone.
"I love you, My Wolf."
"And I love you, My Wife." he moved his head and kissed your palm before he picked you up and carried you to your bed.
It might have been a simple story. A simple love story.
But it was yours and you knew it was special.
With a strong and dedicated husband, who would go to war for the future of your child and you.
Who trained a dozen wolves to protect you, who always made sure to not only tell you that he loved you but prove it to you in any and all ways that he could.

part 0.11. HERE TO STAY
“on the other side of the wall, she’s listening to her client with a smile on her face. she’s a professional; she’s been trained to multitask and take notes while still listening and providing feedback to her clients. right now, she’s clicking off a tab back to the one filled with bullet points on things her client has said. she always knows when he arrives. she hears the left door open, which she knows because it squeaks more than the one on the right. he always uses the left door (she thinks it has something to do with the fact that more people touch the handle of the right door on their way in) and his paces are always steady down the creaky hallway. her last sign that he's here is the chair he sits in every time, the one right next to the door into her rooms. the legs are the slightest bit uneven and the back of the chair will lightly tap against the wall as its way of letting her know of her welcome guest. she already has her queue of songs up. she’s always hated her thin walls until he started coming in. a lot has changed in her life since he's come back, hasn't it?"
content warnings: the big finale which isn't that dramatic! i'm sorry for my bad writing! y/n dad reveal! breaking news: her dad is an asshole! tad bit of violence, one mention of blood and also just cursing and abusive fathers </3
he insists on paying and she doesn’t argue with him about it for long; she’ll have countless more opportunities to steal the check from him, she hopes.
she feels better when she's finally eaten after a day of nervous nausea and time spent anxiously bouncing her knee. on top of that, she’d been with him for the majority of the day, distracting her from what had happened in the morning. he even listened to her issues, and she’s finally starting to believe the promise that he’s here to stay.
they’ve just stepped off the train, and her apartment building is only a few minutes away. he walks alongside her the entire time, their arms brushing each other ever so often. whether it’s on purpose or not, neither of them will fess up.
he’s only distracted from his time spent mindlessly reaching his arm out just the slightest bit more to hit hers ever so often when he feels a buzz in his pocket. he slips out his phone quickly to check its screen:

akaashi’s a moment too late, because they’ve just made it up the stairs to her floor.
she’s already seen him, and he’s already seen her.
she wants to puke.
he’s there, arguing with iwaizumi outside their door. his sunken eyes and gaunt face make her stomach twist with guilt, but a brush from omi’s knuckles reminds her where she is again. it’s not her job to take care of him. it never was, and it never will be.
"you," the man is pointing a finger towards her, stumbling forward and she immediately shrinks back like a shriveling flower, losing her confidence. omi's already standing in front of her without even thinking about it, putting a barrier between the two.
the old man keeps talking as if he can see right through him, though “you’re a disrespectful worthless piece of shit, you know that? can’t ever in your life put even a single person about yourself. here you are living with a bunch of boys. what are you, a whore? do you suck them off so they’ll keep the bad guys away? they’re doing a shit job at it. i’m standing here after, all, aren’t i?”
“it’s not like that,” her voice is quiet and weak, and she’s not even sure it makes it to the man’s ears.
“you can’t think about anyone else. you're too selfish. you won’t even answer your own father’s calls much less say anything to him at all–”
“i told you to back off!” her voice comes out loud this time, louder than she means for it to, “i’ve told you to back off so many times but you just don’t listen,” she steps out from behind omi, standing next to him instead while the man in front of them stops at the sound of her voice, “these are my roommates and my closest friends. i'm living with them because they genuinely care about me and aren't using me for any purpose, something you can't even dream about. the only reason you’re still standing here is that they have enough self-control and respect for me that they won't beat up the man i regrettably call my father.”
omi’s gaze slides over to hers, trying to see if she’ll meet his eyes. he’s simultaneously trying to communicate how proud of her he is and let her know that he'll support her no matter what happens.
“take that back,” her father spits, starting to curl his fingers into a fist. she stays silent, and his face begins to flush an angry red. “you’re only proving my point. you’re just an ungreatful little girl who thinks she no longer has to care about anyone else because she's older. i took care of you your whole life and i will not have you ignoring me for the rest of my fucking life!” the smell of beer invades her senses as he steps closer.
“you did jackshit in my life! you never helped me with anything I asked you to. never bought me anything i needed, you've never cared about me. i’ve grown up and moved out. i can do whatever i damn please and i told you to leave me alone. maybe if you respected me i wouldn't ignore you, but that's impossible for you,” she retorts, standing her ground.
“don’t you fucking talk to me like that–” he nears her, only a few steps between them and she starts to feel the panic in her chest, “your stubbornness is the reason your mother left–”
“my stubbornness?” she can’t help but fight back. that’s what separates her from her past self. her younger self ran away, left home as soon as she could to live on her own, but now she’s grown into who she is today, and she won’t let him ruin that. “you treated your wife like shit and refused to change no matter how many times she screamed and argued with you right in front of me about how horrible you were. you've never fixed anything because you’re so stuck up and think you’re so high and mighty that she decided to pack up her bags and leave–”
“then why did she leave you behind too?”
it’s like her heart stops beating for a second. her blood runs cold before her vision is a blur and the face of the man is crushed right in front of her, sending him to the ground groaning. his hand is covering his nose, preventing her from seeing how badly damaged it is, but she can’t find it in her to care.
“don’t blame her for your faults. grow up and take responsibility for your shit. she deserved better than either of you,” omi is talking down on the man now, and she looks up from her father’s body to the fist of the boy beside her, bruised and a little red.
he’s been by her side since day one, and maybe he disappeared for a section of it, but now he’s back. they're back together, and she stands proudly beside him, “she left me too, but i can’t be mad at her for being sick of you. or us. whatever it is, you’re both selfish and her absence nor yours is something i’m mourning over. i’m happy to have left you too and for the last time, i never want to see you again”
iwaizumi has joined them, standing above the man, no trace of sympathy in his eyes despite the blood that's streaking down her father's face. he tries to get up, only for iwaizumi to keep him down on the ground with a foot on his shoulder, “you heard her. don’t ever show your fucking face around here again. i’ll kill you the moment i lay eyes on you.” iwaizumi’s olive eyes move from the ground to meet hers, slightly softening when he sees her, “are you done with him? i’ll make sure he gets out of here and stays away for good.”
omi’s words from the diner rush back to her head, and she doesn’t feel so bad for relying on her friend. she believes he's willing to help her, and she won’t let her father’s words get to her head. she’s cared for others, unlike him, and developed relationships that she’s earned by giving out her own love. “yeah, i’m done,” her voice is quiet again as she keeps looking at her friend, searching his eyes for any sort of annoyance. but she can’t find any, and she smiles, walking towards him, wrapping her arms around him. “thank you, iwaizumi.”
he has an arm around her shoulders, his foot still resting on her father. “always,” he replies simply before she leaves him embrace, gesturing for omi to follow her. “i’m going to take care of his fist, now.”
iwaizumi only nods, turning his attention back to the man on the ground omi following his gaze as he passes by. iwaizumi will do more than a good enough job at keeping his word, he knows that, but he feels like he should have some part in taking care of the man whose plagued the girl in front of him for her entire life.
but she hasn’t asked him to take care of the man in front of her, and he knows its not his place. she knows she does not resent the man to the point that she wishes harm upon him, she simply wishes that he would leave her alone. and iwaizumi will make sure that wish is honored, and omi should be satisfied with the hit he landed on the man’s nose.
before her hand can even reach the knob of the door, it swings open and she’s pulled inside by the arms of a black-haired man who he recognizes to be akaashi. kita is standing beside him, a hand on [y/n]’s shoulder as they both check on her for any injuries or harm.
he hasn’t seen kita since his days in high school when he was the captain of inarizaki; atsumu told him he had moved out to the countryside but he must have come back after some time. he feels like a weight is lifted off his chest at the sight of her in the arms of his roomates, and he knows that she is cared for. that she has found her people, just like he told her earlier that night, and he hopes that she’s starting to accept his words as the truth.
he’s happy just watching her from afar, but she breaks apart from akaashi’s hug to gesture him in, and kita shuts the door behind him. “omi, this way,” she says with a smile on her face, beckoning him with a hand.
it’s the first time she’s called him by that old name since high school, and he thinks he’s falling even harder for her if that’s possible. she makes him sit on a stool in the kitchen while she searches her cabinets and a nearby closet for medical supplies. she’s begun to apply an ointment to his hand when he opens his mouth, “i can’t believe you think your roomates would ever leave you. look at how they all came to make sure you were okay. mine are one fight away from starting to vote people to kick out of the apartment nearly every week.”
she laughs at his comment, unwrapping a roll of bandages, “i’m sure no one would ever vote for you if that happened, but i guess you’re right, they’re pretty good, aren’t they?”
he nods, watching her face while she’s focused on his hand, “are you doing okay?”
she hums back in response, “yeah. the thing about my mom leaving me behind too kind of stung, but i don’t think life would’ve been any better with her, so it shouldn’t really hurt that bad. i’ll be okay. what you said at the diner really helped, you know. i feel like I can trust myself to say what i'm thinking rather than being scared i'm wrong or selfish. i can trust that it's not egotistical to believe my roomates don’t actually hate me. and that you don’t hate me. so i feel like i’ve finally escaped the weight of my dad’s words always crushing me and playing down anything i do.”
he reaches a hand up with his uninjured hand to wipe away tears from her face she didn't even realize were falling. and then he keeps his hand there, caressing the side of her face. “i don’t hate you, i never have. this entire time…how i feel about you is quite the opposite,” the words are slightly too intimate for him and as soon as they escape his mouth, it becomes hard to swallow and his face feels a little hot, but he doesn’t remove the hand from her cheek. he opts to say something more neutral next, “you did well, talking back down to him. i think you could’ve taken him down yourself.”
she chuckles at that, tying a knot to finish his bandage, “that’s what you think, but i’m sure i’d break my thumb or something. and if i have a hot man to defend me? i’m not lifting a finger.”
“you think i’m hot?” he says with a smile.
her cheeks grow warm under his hand, but she can’t look or move away from him, “i’m pretty sure thousands of people think so. it’s like a fact; newspapers can make money off of just having your face on the front page even if they barely mention you or don’t focus on sports at all.”
“well none of that matters,” he’s smiling softly now, and she’s still looking into his dark-colored eyes, hands holding his wrapped hand, “it just matters what you think.”
“what i think?” she repeats. and maybe it’s the adrenaline from the encounter they just had, or his boldness rubbing off on her in this current moment, but her next words come out clear and confident, “i think i love you, and i have for years. even when you left, i never stopped loving you.”
“i’m gonna make up for those years, you know,” he whispers back, pulling her by the sides to stand between his legs, bringing her closer. “i know i love you. i’d be a fool not to. and i loved you back then in high school too, even if i didn’t know it. i swear, losing you made me realize how much i took you for granted and everything became clear. letting you disappear was the worst mistake i ever made. i’ll make up for that lost time. make it up to you to the the point that you’re sick of me and you forget we were ever even separated for a time in our lives.”
“oh? and how are you gonna do that?” there’s a breathless feeling growing inside of her chest, where her heart beating fast with his confession and the way she's allowing him to pull her face close to this.
“starting with this,” his breath is hot against her lips before he closes the gap between them, and she’s kissing him back. she doesn't mourn or wish for the past, or for anything to change. he's come back and that's all that matters. she's happy with the word again. she likes it better than a phrase like "we fell in love at first sight." instead, she can say, "we met again. we fell in love again.
"we tried again."
it sounds like a story that reminds people endings aren't set in stone. she likes it.

“by the way, have you been playing songs for me in your lounge room when i’m waiting for you?”
“oh, you noticed?”

"the more you love your friends the more their features start to blur until all you remember is a pair of warm, welcoming eyes and laughter that feels like home."

URGENT APPEAL !!!!
🍉🍉Save the life of the child Malak "who suffers from Down Syndrome"🍉🍉
Hello, my name is Doaa, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my beloved daughter Malak , who is a 3-year-old girl born with Down syndrome. Despite war hardships, Malak always had her safe haven - her home, where she received the care and attention she deserved.

However, the ongoing war in Gaza has turned our world upside down. We've been forced to flee our home, leaving behind everything, including her treasured belongings and familiar routines. As a child with Down syndrome, the upheaval and uncertainty of these drastic changes have taken a profound toll on her.

Life became very hard, prices have escalated, clean water is a dream. After displacing to the south ,and the destruction of our beloved house and the loss of all what we have ever worked for, we now live in a tent. With winter on the way,as a mum , I'm terrified on my daughter's health condition as she was born with a weak heart. No enough blankets, air is strong, cold is freezing. She is always sick.

It breaks my heart to see her struggle each day amidst the chaos of war. With medical supplies and necessities scarce in Gaza, it's become increasingly challenging to provide Malak with the care and support she needs and deserves. That's why I'm reaching out to you today.

No one knows what it truly means to face shock in complete silence,to smile in face of situations that invite tears, and no one realizes what it feels like to boil inside while standing at the peak of steadfastness.Behind this apparent strength lies a deep suffering that no one can grasp. My heart is slowly torn apart under the weight of suppressed pain.Life forces me to pretend to be strong, when apart of me fades away with each moment.I'm left with a bitter feeling of isolation and loneliness. Please don't leave my daughter alone face the struggle of the gloomy war, starvation, pollution and lack of medicine.

I'm starting this GoFundMe campaign with one simple plea: help us provide to Malak medicine and pampers.Your donations facilitate Malak's life;she can receive the medical attention and care she urgently requires Every donation, no matter how small, will make a world of difference in her life.

Please, let's come together as a community and make her life a little easier. Your kindness and generosity will not only bring hope to Malak but also provide our family with the reassurance that she is,to some extent ,safe and well-cared for. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and compassion during this incredibly challenging time.

simon riley x fem!reader
Imagine holding Simon when he cries.
Simon Riley is an incredibly strong man, an absolute force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Since joining the SAS in 2001, he has created a name for himself. A military legend—seemingly more ghost-like than flesh and blood. But that is the farthest from the truth, isn’t it? Cause, at the end of the day, he is still human. You’re his girl, the love of his life. His true love—his only love.
You are a source of comfort he somehow found in this shitty, cold world. The home he never had the privilege of experiencing; your arms have provided him with everything he was denied during boyhood.
So imagine your Simon arriving home one evening—dead silent—merely shuffling his way to where you’re seated comfortably on the living room couch. His duffle bag drops near his leather recliner before the balaclava is tossed to the side. On his face is a certain heaviness, a sadness twisted in his handsome features; his blue eyes are not as bright as they usually are.
You swallow. Did something happen during the mission?
“What is wrong, baby?” You coo, stretching your arms out wide to welcome him in.
Without another thought, Simon tucks himself into your embrace, with his head resting gently on your chest. Against your breast, he can hear your heartbeat thundering away in your chest, moving in a rhythm that matches his. He reckons he is the luckiest bastard in the world, to find a soulmate who compliments him in every aspect of life.
He lets out a small sigh, squeezing his eyes shut, feeling his throat closing up as tears begin to well up. His bottom lip trembles before he bites down on it.
“Simon,” you murmur, pressing a gentle kiss on his forehead. “What happened, my love?”
Another tear, followed by three more. A tiny, shaky exhale. Simon remains utterly still for a moment, not saying anything, until…“It’s my father’s birthday today.” His voice is quiet, breathless, unbelievably thick with sheer sadness.
Your face falls at that. “Oh, Simon.” A sad smile pulls at your lips while you hug him closer, peppering more kisses up and down his hairline, pausing to brush back soft, blonde strands. You say nothing more as he continues to weep in your arms, entire body racking with choked-up sobs and uneven breathing.
“I loved him,” Simon rasps out, pulling his face up from your neck. Both his cheeks and nose are a cherry-red, with baby-blue eyes bloodshot and puffy, lined with fresh tears. For a moment, he wasn’t the Simon Riley you fell in love with, but the Simon Riley who was five-years-old—all scrawny, little legged and freshly bruised, hiding behind the bookcase in his parents’ bedroom.
“Loved him so bloody much.”
You don’t know what to say. What can you even say? Nothing can heal those wounds, cut so deep in his heart and soul that any slight movement reopens them. “I know you did.” You kiss his nose, minding the mess of tears and snot.
His fists slowly tighten, knuckles whitening as all the memories of his father begin to flood through him; they all carry an agonizing sensation, the kind that is too fuckin' painful to discuss aloud, yet too damn gut-wrenching to keep bottled up inside.
“Do ya…” he hiccups, clearing his throat. “Do ya think…in another life…?”
In another life. You think for a moment, carding your fingers softly through his hair. “Maybe, my love…”
Simon nods. “Maybe,” he croaks out, keeping his arms tight around you. There, on the couch, you continue to hold him, letting his torrent of tears soak your shirt; time and time again, your fingers run through his hair in some silent attempt to ease the little boy wailing inside.
“It’s okay, baby.”
You kiss his temple.
“You’re alright. Let it out, baby.”
He’ll be alright tomorrow. You know it. In the morning, he’ll be barefoot and content in the kitchen, baking his mother’s special recipe of blueberry and pineapple pancakes—a cup of milk, one egg, blueberries, pineapple, and, of course, the batter—all while waiting for your arms to circle around his chest.
But for right now, he is five years old, finally being embraced in arms so warm and loving and protective—so unbelievably perfect. The feeling incites more tears.
"Thank you, baby," he mumbles, gently kissing your collarbone; it's a kiss so rich with love, appreciation, and adoration that it stirs up butterflies in your tummy. "For everything."
For everything. Oh, you silly boy. "Simon." You smile down at him, gently caressing his cheek. "For you, my love? I'd do anything."
note: a little drabble for my "let simon riley cry 2024" campaign. thanks!

maybe jelly — gojo satoru x f!reader

a/n: gojo getting jealous? 👁️👁️

you arrive at jujutsu high, as you prepare for your guest lecture. you’ve given these talks before, but this time, something feels a little different—satoru is acting strange.
not that he’s ever normal, but today he seems extra…dramatic.
“you’re going to kill it, babe,” satoru says, draping his arm over your shoulders as you walk toward the classroom. his blindfold hides his eyes, but you can feel the intensity of his gaze, more focused than usual.
“you okay?” you ask, glancing at him with a teasing grin. “you seem a little... off.”
“me? off? never,” he replies, lips pulling into his trademark smirk. “just making sure no one gets too cozy with my brilliant wife. gotta make sure these kids remember you’re taken.”
you roll your eyes playfully, “I think everybody and their mother know that, satoru.”
time passes by, and now, you stand at the front of the lecture hall at jujutsu high, wrapping up your talk.
the students seem genuinely engaged, and one in particular, a young sorcerer named ren, is practically bouncing with enthusiasm, asking follow-up questions.
“and how did you manage to seal that curse without any physical confrontation?” ren asks, his voice brimming with admiration and curiosity.
before you could respond, satoru appears at your side with his usual confidence, his presence instantly commanding attention, “well, she is the wife of the gojo satoru. kinda comes with the territory,” he interjects, flashing his signature grin.
you shoot him an exasperated look, “I’m pretty sure my skills had something to do with it.”
satoru leans in close, nuzzling against your cheek affectionately before pulling back slightly. “oh, of course, sweetheart. you’re amazing, but it doesn’t hurt to be married to the strongest sorcerer around, right?”
ren blinks, clearly caught off guard by the interaction.
he glances between you and satoru, his expression a mix of confusion and awe. “I wasn’t aware you were married,” he mutters, his gaze flickering between you and satoru as if trying to process this new information.
you smile and give satoru a jab into his ribs that he takes like a champ, “yeah, he likes to remind people. it’s kind of his thing.”
satoru, never one to miss an opportunity to make a grand statement, leans down and places a soft kiss on the top of your head.
his arm slips casually around your waist, “just keeping things clear. y'know, in case anyone forgets that I get the honor of calling you mine.”
ren tries to steer the conversation back to his question, “so, about the sealing technique…”
satoru cuts him off again, stepping slightly in front of you with a playful yet firm stance.
“hey, hey, let’s not bombard her with too many questions now. she’s been on her feet alllll day, talking about all the cool stuff she’s done and showing everybody just how badass she is.”
you roll your eyes but can’t suppress a small smile. stepping around him to face ren again, you continue, “ignore him. the technique I used requires focusing on—”
satoru clears his throat dramatically, pulling you back to his side and wrapping his arm around your shoulders, eyes boring into the poor boy even through his blindfold.
“you know what I think? I think my lovely wife deserves a break. maybe some alone time with her handsome, strong, and incredibly talented husband?”
you raise an eyebrow at him, your tone teasing. “handsome and humble, I see.”
satoru’s grin widens, and he leans down to whisper in your ear, “I can be both when it comes to you.”
you are about to retort back, but then you remember that ren is still here.
you turn to the boy with a smile and assure him, “anyway, ren, if you want to chat more about techniques, we can catch up later. after my husband gets over himself,” you hiss at the man who raises his hands in surrender.
ren, now visibly flustered and unsure, mumbled, “uh, I’ll… catch up with you later then. thanks for the talk!”
ren dashes out the room, slamming the door behind him. you tap your feet against the ground for a few minutes, before you elbow satoru again.
he stays standing up, chest puffed out and a big grin plastered on his face. you deadpan as you stare at your husband, “you really couldn’t help yourself, could you?”
satoru shrugs nonchalantly, still holding you close. he hums, giving you a kiss on the forehead, “what can I say? I don’t like sharing. besides, you are the wife of the strongest sorcerer; it’s important to make sure that’s clear.”
you roll your eyes, but you can’t help but smile helplessly at your husband. your fingers find their way through his hair making him instantly melt. you giggle at your puddle of a husband, “you’re so lucky I love you.”
he tilts his head slightly, his eyes softening as he looks at you. “I love you more, soooooooooooo—”
“oh my god, I get it,” you laugh as you try to push him off. he resists with a whine as he nuzzles his face into your shoulder. you yield and let the silence fill the room.
he hums softly as you both sway mindlessly.
“but y’know,” you pull back slightly, smiling up at him, “you really do like to make an impression.”
he chuckles, his eyes twinkling with a mix of pride and mischief, “just doing my part to ensure everyone knows how lucky I am and how lucky they should feel to be in the presence of my extraordinary wife.”
he intertwines your left hands together and raises them slightly, showing off the rings. the sun makes them shine quite brightly, and it makes you sigh with a smile and satoru let out a huff of laughter.

wings
in which mark meets someone with viltrumite-like powers — and has an angel’s wings?
invincible x fem!reader
warnings: world-building, smut fluff, not canon-compliant at all
inspired by kali uchis’s angel & igual que un angel

“We don’t know exactly where she came from… but we do know she fell from an extreme height in the sky, or even space, down to Earth.”
Mark examines the hospital bed as he glances at Cecil with suspicion. He crosses his arms, puffing his chest out as he peers closer through the glass. It’s unlike Cecil to joke, much less about something as ridiculous as this.
“Do you realize what you’re telling me right now? Some girl with angel wings fell out of the sky suddenly? Is this some sort of prank?”
Cecil sighs, looking at his feet as he pinches the bridge of his nose.
“No, Mark. She fell in Chicago, and left a huge mess for us to clean up. But after everything that’s happened, who knows maybe she was sent here for a reason. God knows that the city needs something to believe in after all the destruction.”
Mark turns away from the glass, fidgeting as he looks at the ground.
“So why did you call me here? Is there some sort of problem with her?” Mark asks as he turns back to Cecil, sizing him up.
Their relationship was never a good one, but when Mark received a message that he needed his help with some sort of situation, he felt compelled to come to the Pentagon, despite their bad blood. There was some sort of unexplainable pull – a siren’s call urging him to listen for once to see what was happening. But maybe that gut feeling was wrong, since all Cecil had done so far was present to him some poor girl in a hospital gown hooked up to countless machines, her wings held tightly together with some sort of harness or tape so that they couldn’t take up too much space. They looked to be pretty big, a mixture of ivory and white but he couldn’t get too good of a look as she shifted in the cot.
“Well, we’ve been running some tests and found out some interesting information about whatever she might be. She’s incredibly strong, and if she wakes up on the wrong side of the bed could do some major damage, even more than when she fell. And –”
Mark scoffs, rolling his eyes. Cecil gives him a look before continuing, “Mark, we believe the powers she possesses aren’t that far off from your own, or even Atom Eve’s. She can make beams of pure light, heal herself, and even though she’s unconscious has some ability to sense and manipulate the emotions of those around her. Don’t ask how we found that out.”
Mark raises his eyebrows in confusion looking back toward the girl behind the glass.
“I see. What do you want me to do about it?”
“Well, the reason you turned out so…you is because of your mother and the fact that you got to experience humanity. So, show her how to be human.”
Mark stutters out, “Huh!? Do you want me to play house with her and show her the ropes of being normal? I’m the last person who could do that!”
Cecil rolls his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. “What I really want is for you to let her stay at your home for a bit, let her experience some normalcy. For all we know she could be here to take over Earth. Or because it’s some sort of punishment. Just let Debbie talk to her at least. She’s doing a pretty good job with Oliver so far.”
“You want me to let her stay with my family? No way–”
“I already spoke to Debbie and she said she doesn’t mind. Even though the girl has powers, she could’ve used them in far worse ways and hasn’t yet. She just crashed here, passed out upon impact and has been sleeping since. But we think she’ll wake up soon.
As soon as Cecil finished speaking, Mark heard the sounds of the monitors behind the glass beeping rapidly. He watched as you woke up slowly, rubbing your eyes, stretching your arms, pushing against the restraints against your wings until you looked to your back in confusion. You examined your surroundings before landing on Mark and Cecil, walking towards the glass, tapping on it tentatively.
Mark looks you up and down as you stare back at him with curiosity. There’s definitely something otherworldly in the way you move, not to mention your looks. Such beautiful eyes, a shine in them that gleams as he finally makes eye contact with you. There’s a strange swirling in his stomach – but that was probably just your powers.
You tilt your head, eyeing Mark in his suit. The way his muscles ripple, material spread taut along the span of his shoulders and his sharp jawline visible – but you can’t see his eyes. You huff and turn away from the glass.
“Where’s Donald? He always spoke to me. You just stare and this one I’ve never met before,” You say as you conjure up a beam of light that cuts through the bindings holding your wings together.
“He’s busy. And you have someone new to talk to: Mark Grayson,” Cecil introduces, patting Mark on the back before opening up the door to your room, ushering Mark in. He bristled as the door slammed shut behind him, effectively trapping him and you together.
The air felt different suddenly. Electric. He watched in awe as you stretched and unfurled your wings a few feathers falling and landing gracefully. They seemed to somehow shimmer despite the sterile lighting and looked impossibly soft. He met your eyes seeing a vulnerability in your gaze that hadn’t been there before. But as soon as it appeared it faded away as you spoke.
“So they want you to be my babysitter? The customs of my people are not that different from yours. But you’re not completely human, are you Mark Grayson?” You asked your eyes never leaving him as you walked around him, examining him. You went to grab his goggles off of his face before he swatted you away.
“No, no I’m not. But I’m not going to treat you like a child. Cecil just wants me to… help you adjust to life here on Earth.”
“Oh.” You looked away from his eyes standing in front of him with your arms crossed. “I may have just awoken, but I know many things. Your kind– your father’s kind are the reason I’m here. But I…I can’t remember what exactly happened to my….” You trailed off, a hand coming to your face as you turned your back to him, wings filling his vision completely.
Mark wanted to reach out, to comfort you somehow but he didn’t know what to do. “I can guarantee you, that I am nothing like my father, or any Viltrumite,” he spat the word out in disgust.
You turned back around, conjuring a small beam of light that reached out to him, and he froze. Were you going to attack him? Instead, the light shaped into a hand-like shape, its fingers taking off his mask and goggles and placing them gently onto your cot. You waved the beam away as you walked towards him again, finally completely face to face with him. In the silence there was an understanding and again, that pulled towards you to let you do whatever you wanted with him, to him, and he felt frozen in place.
“A heart like yours has gone extinct among the Viltrumites, if it ever even existed in the first place. And my own I think is what caused me to be sent here. I won’t harm you Mark.”
In your luminous eyes he saw his own and relief washed over him. A heart like his? He wasn’t sure if whatever you were sensing was a result of your powers or just sweet talk. But he was definitely looking forward to learning more about you.
“You think you’re here because of Viltrumites?” he asked as he shifted under your gaze.
“I think so. Whatever my purpose is, it’s tied to you and this planet. But it’s as though a fog has been placed over my mind, I-I can’t completely remember. I do remember falling, sorry about that,” You played with the end of your hospital gown nervously. “But I feel it in my chest, in my soul that I’m in the right place.”
You smiled gingerly at him, something new in your eyes. Embarrassment, maybe from the fall and having been so close to him.
“Alright. If you’re going to live with me and my family there’s a few rules that need to be laid out.”
Mark wasn’t kidding when he said there were lots of rules for you to follow. Despite being under Cecil’s watchful eye regardless, Mark made sure to keep tabs on your whereabouts and what you were doing as much as he could. You spent a lot of time at his home, helping Debbie with dinner, watching and spending time with Oliver, becoming a role model and friend to him. You especially liked playing sports with him, and flying since he was so curious about your wings. They also fascinated Debbie, the only person you had let touch them, feeling a sense of comfortability only a mother could create. It was fleeting, but it was a sign that you were embracing this new life, something you explained to Mark after she had rubbed the space between them on a night when you were feeling homesick, not having left your bed all day.
In a way, you just fit into his home, his family so well, he couldn’t help as that pull towards you, grew into a sense of affection and fondness. And that feeling was tested one day when Mark went up against a particularly strong villain.
Mark really hadn’t expected the guy to be so strong. He was facing punch after punch, being beaten into the ground late at night when he looked towards the sky and saw… it had to be–
A blinding beam of light exploded, shattering nearby windows, the force pushing the attacker away. Somehow you had created a cell of light that he was now trapped in, hearing his shouts of pain and the sizzling of skin as he tried to get out.
“Mark! I saw what was happening and had to help–I’m sorry I wasn’t here sooner,” You exclaimed as your hand hovered above the center of his forehead. His limbs and face tingled as he closed his eyes, succumbing to the feeling that began to roll over him in crashing waves of tenderness, softness. Your healing powers began to take effect as he felt himself finally able to sit up.
“T-Thank you, angel…” He coughed as he looked toward you, a vulnerability in your eyes that was reserved only for him.
You wrapped your arms around him tightly, melting into him as you scratched at the hairs near the nape of his neck. That felt good…
“I was so scared, Mark. Please–Please you have to let me and Oliver help you. Don’t ever go off on your own like this again!” You let go of him as you looked into his eyes, scolding him. Your gleaming eyes seemed to glow in the moonlight, eyes shining with tears. One fell, Mark carefully brushing it away as he cupped your face delicately.
“I’m sorry. Let’s go home, angel.”
Instead of staying in your own bed that night, you ended up in Mark’s, tending to his lingering aches and pains wearing one of his shirts that you cut the back off to make room for your wings. You began rubbing his back, relaxing him further before he moved to face you.
After what had happened, he knew he had to do something, to finally act on whatever it was lingering between you. You looked at him, as curious as the first time you met and tilted your head so cutely.
“Is something wrong, Mark? Was I too rough?”
He waved his hand away, dismissing what you had said.
“No, never angel. It’s just I was thinking and maybe I could…” He took a deep breath before taking your hand into his, “Maybe I could help you relax too? Could I touch your wings?”
You offered a coy smile, eyes downcast. You looked up into his eyes, watching as his face bloomed into a timid smile matching your own. You nodded, before saying, “I might need some help, you know,” You gestured to your–no, his shirt. You turned your back to him, crossing your arms as you moved to take it off, Mark rushing to help you.
“O-Oh yeah, of course.”
He helped you take it off carefully, the expanse of your back visible to him, wings unfurling and fluttering coquettishly. His hands hovered as he took in the sight before him. He could also see the soft curve of your breasts, but they became obscured as you crossed your arms.
“You can touch me. I trust you, Mark.”
He swallowed, before rubbing the space in between your wings watching as you rolled your neck. The skin there was soft, and he moved to touch where your wings protruded from your back. You shifted, a small noise of pleasure escaping from your mouth.
He continued, stroking the feathers of your wings as he felt you relax, slumping slightly. They were so soft, so delicate and yet he could feel the strong hard muscle lying underneath. He began to massage the space beneath where your wings came out from your back and you whimpered, wings fluttering and stretching out further. You moved to clasp a hand over your mouth in shame before Mark leaned into your back whispering against your ear, his voice seeming to deepen.
“It’s okay, baby. Let me hear you, angel. Can I keep touching you? Somewhere else, maybe?”
“Y-yes, please,” you whined quietly, music to his ears.
Mark reached around from behind you to cup your breasts, feeling their weight between his hands. You turned your head to the side, the sensation engulfing you as he began to place soft kisses against your neck. He rolled a nipple between his fingers, pinching it as he began to nip and suck against your neck. His rough hands felt so good against your silky skin and he breathed in your sweet smell.
“You like that, angel?”
You nodded, crying out in pleasure, already sensitive from his hands on your wings.
“Use your words, sweet girl.”
“Mmmm, I love it. Please Mark, please,” you begged, unsure of what you were even chasing as his lips met yours in a searing kiss. Your tongues melded together as you brought your hand to run through his hair, your other becoming entwined with one of his hands still playing with your chest. The kiss continued, as Mark trailed his hands lower, pulling away to look into your eyes, asking for permission. The hand in his hair left, guiding it to the heaven between your legs as you began to grind against his hand.
“Angel, you’re so wet.”
He lovingly caressed you, rubbing against your clit over your panties as he pulled you into another kiss, swallowing your moans. He rubbed faster, as your breathing became heavier, pleasure overwhelming your senses.
“Mark–!” you cried out as a final warning before complete bliss filled your senses, wings spreading as far as they could, the downy feathers glowing. The room was illuminated as you came down from your high, slouching into his embrace as you rested your head against his shoulder. He kissed your temple as you felt something warm and hard…and wet against your backside.
“Mark, did you…?” You looked into his tired eyes as he looked to the ceiling in embarrassment.
“I-I couldn’t help it!” He stuttered out as you shifted, your bodies moving against the bed until you were on top of him, straddling him.
Your eyes shimmered as you splayed your hands across his chest, kissing him sweetly. Whatever this was– at first it felt inevitable, inescapable. But now you knew that you two were meant to be, a connection, a binding of hearts that were meant to connect in one way or another. It just happened to be like this. He looked at you as you used your powers to convey this feeling, eyes softening even further if possible, as he tucked a stray strand of hair behind your ear, placing his hands on your hips and squeezing.
You laid on top of him, your wings creating a sort of cocoon around you both as you whispered into his ear as he had before your voice sultry and yet sweet, “It’s okay, baby. Now I get to return the favor.”
You two were in for a very, very, long night.
