Hi everypony! I got like 20 asks for the Dogwarts cutie mark lore so I'm here to speak my truth!

Before we start, I would like to write a quick reminder that a pony's cutie mark is not always their "special talent", but can also represent who they are, their personalities, and a possible destiny. Different cutie marks have different meanings and interpretations, but they're not just about representing what you're good at.

That being said, let's start with the cutie mark design I'm proudest of!

Ren's Cutie Mark

Ren's cutie mark is of a sunrise and looks pretty simple at first glance but there was a lot of thought that went into this one.

First of all, I bet you're wondering why a sunrise? Well, in the show, it is pretty typical for unicorns with great magical abilities to have one relating to space (examples being Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, and Sunburst). And I figured since I wanted Ren to fall into a similar position of potentially becoming an alicorn, I gave him a cutie mark following the same trend. And I chose a sunrise to reflect the way Ren seems to glow when he enters a room. The way he carries himself is very warm and bright it just catches your eye in a similar way the sun would.

Also, Ren wears sunglasses. So a sun-themed cutie mark seemed appropriate.

Additionally, there are a couple of smaller details I want to point out too. Like the sun rays, if you look at them for a moment you'll see they're shaped like little crowns! I of course had to put a crown in thanks to how much Ren likes to play royalty, so I snuck it in there. And then the red spots underneath could both be interpreted as the sun reflected over water or blood. (But of course, this is a kid show AU so there wouldn't be any blood in Ren's destiny, just a fun reference to the red king and his whole thing about blood dyeing the snow red)

Martyn's Cutie Mark

I explained this one in an earlier ask but I thought I'd explain it again here for anyone who didn't see it!

Martyn's cutie mark is of a chopped log and a small stick.

This one is mostly a play on the name "Littlewood" but has other meanings too. As a character, Martyn tends to travel and explore quite a bit. In the Life Series specifically, he is usually the last one to find a permanent base and even then doesn't spend a lot of time in one place. Always on the move. Additionally, he's more of a wild card compared to other characters, always trying to be as unpredictable as possible.

The smaller detail here is the little swirl on top of the log is the same as the one on his Minecraft skin's shirt.

BigB's Cutie Mark

Cookies! Cookies! Cookies! BigB's cutie mark is of 3 cookies where one is trying to eat the others. There are also a few sprinkles there made to look like action lines.

We all know BigB loves cookies so of course I had to give him a cutie mark with cookies in it. For this one, I decided to follow the cutie mark trend of "symbol/item important to the pony duplicated 3 times" (examples being Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie) but I added a bit more creativity to it with the top on trying to eat the others to represent just how tasty they are 😋

Additionally, rather than the first cookie trying to eat the others, you could interpret it as opening its mouth to talk. Because BigB can not keep a secret to save his life! In Double Life when he started "secret soulmates" with Grian, he didn't last a day without opening his mouth. He told Ren about it immediately because he felt bad for keeping things from him.

Also worth quickly mentioning: People pointed out in my original post that they don't think BigB would be the element of honesty because of his behaviour in Secret Life. But that's just Secret Life. I think Secret Life to BigB was like that episode of My Little Pony where Discord makes the main 6 act the opposite of their true element. BigB was just going through a weird phase of telling very obvious lies because a book told him to.

Skizz's Cutie Mark

Skizz's cutie mark is of a lightning bolt from a couple storm clouds hitting the ground.

I think this is the cutie mark with the least thought put into it, unfortunately. There was still though just not as much as the others. The big thing I thought was fun was I made the lightning bolt shaped like an "S" to stand for Skizzleman. But other than that, this cutie mark sort of has the same meaning as Rainbow Dash's cutie mark. Quick like lightning, loud, bold, dangerous, and powerful.

Impulse's Cutie Mark

Impulse's cutie mark is of a lit-up lightbulb.

I absolutely crowded this cutie mark with the letter i. If you look closely, there are 6 of them. Impulse's design also has an i-shaped pattern on the belly if you look closely enough. But that's more of a fun easter egg and doesn't exactly reflect Impulse as a character.

There are a couple of reasons I chose a lightbulb for Impulse, the first and probably most obvious is that he's a redstone guy! He's a technical guy who likes to work smarter, not harder. So I figured the My Little Pony equivalent would be a light bulb/electricity. The second reason for the lightbulb is that it's usually used as a visual representation when characters have that "eureka!" moment in cartoons. When someone has a brilliant idea a little lightbulb turns on above their head. So since Impulse is the ideas guy, I figured a lightbulb would work for his cutie mark.

Etho's Cutie Mark

Etho's cutie mark is of a snowflake with a missing branch.

I promise there is more to this cutie mark than just "Canada is cold" even if that's part of the reason I wanted to give him a winter-themed cutie mark. While it is fun to make a nod to Etho being Canadian, I thought a winter-themed cutie mark would be fun to represent how he sometimes presents himself. Cold and a bit mysterious. I think deep down once you get to know him, those attributes melt away, but for people who have never met him, he may be intimidating that way.

I'll be honest, I don't watch a lot of Etho content, but I do have a few friends who identify as Etho girlies so I did my research. I was told in his Minecraft Let's Play World, that he has a snowflake build somewhere. I believe they said it was an iron golem farm? (Please correct me if I'm wrong) but I thought that was perfect for the cutie mark. And if you're wondering why there's a branch missing, it's because one of my friends said he was incapable of finishing builds sometimes so I thought that would be fun to include.

Writing Interview Tag Game!

You said it was open tag @dr-demi-bee so yoink!

When did you start writing?

I've always written since I was a kid. I remember writing a self insert Jonny Quest fic of about 100 words when I was really young. Couldn't tell you what happened it in but I know I kept it hidden because there was kissing involved.

Then I remember being about 11 and writing a fic of a girl who lived with her two step parents (Guess whose parents hadn't got divorced by that point so they didn't understand how that worked). There was so much angst and TV soap drama I got asked if everything was okay at home. But serious writing wasn't under Feb this year with the BG3 obsession. I don't have a fancy literature degree; I don't have analysis skills of Shakespeare and other fancy authors. I'm just a muppet with a keyboard.

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?

I love reading sci-fi, especially if its dystopian, Children of Men is one of my favourite books, as are a lot of works by Philip K. Dick, but I've never tried writing sci-fi before and don't really plan to. I also enjoy reading some smut (within reason) but really dislike writing it. I will happily give you a nondescript non/con fic over an explicit love fucking. I've done it, you've all seen it and some even liked it, but my smut writing days are very much on hold right now.

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?

I've never been compared to anyone else. Do we normally get compared, is that a thing? I'm curious who I would be compared to now... As for emulation, I don't really want to. My writing is my own, and it conveys who I am as a person. If I were emulating someone else, would I not just be a cheap copy of them? (Possibly I'm seeing emulation in the wrong terms, blame the illiteracy)

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?

This is it currently. Basic I know, but I'm not one for clutter on my desk otherwise I get distracted easily. I share the room with my kid who has her PC next to me, normally playing Minecraft or nattering away, so I get pulled away plenty. The troll has been with me since 2005 and sat on my desk in various offices across the UK and Ireland, now helping me to write with its words of wisdom. (It doesn't really but maybe I can claim it's a beta reader or something.)

What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?

Spite! Yes, I know this sounds insane and petty and all the other negative words but fucking hell is spite one hell of a muse. One of my fics I wrote very long ago was based of a fanfic I read that just got under my skin. The subject had been taken and turned into this fluffy, romance thing and I was so fucking bitter and annoyed at how little the person had clearly researched into the topic. I went and wrote my fic including the reality of it all and it felt so cathartic to do so. (This is not the way to write fics, I'm just a terrible person) Otherwise, walking, daydreaming, regular tropes you like. Browsing the tags on Ao3 and seeing what strikes your fancy. That's where the hate sex fic came from.

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

Control is a big theme that I find creeps in. Whether it be Gale and smut and his self control, or the non/con fics that seem to slip in. Then there is Nana and her past, and the PPD fic, and of course the S/H fic. Yeah control is the big one. Does it surpise me? Not Really. Control is a topic I've tried to explain many a time to a therapist only to be misunderstood so I think I use my writing a lot to get my thoughts on it out into the open.

What is your reason for writing?

More productive daydreaming. If I could lie in a room all day or walk around in a daydream I would, but unfortunatly the world seems to be insisting that I embrace reality, and so writing is the compromise. I also genuinely do enjoy it but could not explain to you why.

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

Motivating? I'm not sure... I like comments, I like validation like anyone else but they fill that void, they don't necessarily motivate me. When I finished my bachelor paper we had to do an oral exam to back it up, and the exam censor was a professor of literature. Her feedback to my writing was that it was easy to understand and a pleasure to read. That comment stuck with me and has definitely motivated me to stick with my style. I don't like gatekeeping behind faux intellect. So possibly that comment?

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

I AM A GOD! I don't know really. I guess just being thought about in general is enough. I've always been sort of out of sight, out of mind in life. Like Gale, I've always believed myself to be very much 'if I'm not needed then I'm not wanted' - So just being remembered is enough. (Gods, that sounds so fucking sad now that I think about it.)

Under the surface, I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

Hopefully it's just ease of understanding. Like I know we all want these literary masterpieces that will change the world or provide some sort of beauty that bring people to tears, but I just want to tell stories and make people feel stuff other than confusion. And I like to think I manage that. So yeah, that's my strength.

How do you feel about your own writing?

Hmmm.... I am my own worst critic in every single aspect of my life. It will never been good enough (see how I've got Gale's angst down so well???). I like my writing, I like flow and repetition. I like how it covers topics I want to read about and isn't just being produced to be produced like I've seen some bigger writers do (they're not on Tumblr, don't worry before you all start wondering 'is it me?'.) And I like how it's not all the same stuff. I have quite a lot of variety of varying standards. Some I really like, others I sigh at and wonder how I'd do them differently.

Answered this one, but I have more! Characters who seem Very In Control at all times, but are actually an Absolute Nervous Wreck. I also love characters who look super intimidating but are actually very gentle.

This is my own story, a Grecoroman-themed fantasy with a bit of the Ars Goetia thrown in. The overall idea is a romance in the middle of a war between humans and demons. Hyacinth is the Hero with conveniently light-related powers. The love interest is Azazel, the Demon Lord. It’s styled after the general anime Yuusha story with a hero and the Demon Lord final boss, but with my own twist and a few more Western fantasy elements than you’d normally find in a Yuusha story. Most of my posts have been on Patreon, but will likely end up here soon.

i've started a little series of weekly posts documenting every MoC i made (digitally) over the last few years:

week 2: 2018

my first post on reddit, an effort to document irl MoCs, testing a new renderer, Minecraft cusoo, Lego Movies and Overwatch (ew)

i was obsessed with monocycles as a 17 year old. i made these two specifically to post on my then new reddit account and a lot of the comments under that post were referencing some south park episode. this made me way too upset, because i loathed that show (pretty reasonable, i'd say).

i still kinda like this build even though the wheel doesn't turn, which is like, the main thing that a good wheel should be able to do.

here we've got my oldest ever MoC, a red sewing machine using only three parts, that i made when i was like, four or five.

then there's some micro space ships, including a Bird of Prey and the enterprise.

the last few are semi-minifigure scale, even the ccbs MoC. the last one is still probably one of my favourite MoCs i've made so far. i also like the photo i took of it.

i took these photos with my dslr to document all the Irl MoCs i had on reddit. i think i posted them weekly (kinda like this series).

i think some of the photos look really nice, but a lot of them just don't work.

Stud.io updated their renderer to look more realistic at that time, so i decided to test it by rendering and photgraphing the Cusoo Minecraft Set that i had just bought on amazon. we'll revisit this idea in a later week, where i've tested rendering Lego in Blender

by the way, never buy dicontinued Lego sets on amazon; i payed waaaay to much for this one, especially compared to the prize i would've payed on bricklink.

that Minecraft set inspired me to try out the building style. i still kinda like the way it turned out and we'll see a lot more of this, especially more block-accurate MoCs, in a later week.

the Lego Batman Movie came out around this time and i, being a Doctor who fan, just had to re-make the "british Robots" that appeared in that movie.

this was the first of my MoCs that i made instructions for and i published those to the Bricklink Stud.io Gallery, but it was later deleted becasue it was technically not My own Creation. oh well.

the trailer for The Lego Movie 2 came out later in the year in the year and Apocalypseburg inspired me to build something based on the architecture statue of liberty.

i like both of these almost equally. i think the first one better conveys the look of stacked up containers, but the second one envelopes the statue in a way more convincing way.

i don't really like this Roblox spider.

Lego Overwatch came out around that time, which was really big, because it was the first Theme based on a Video Game after the Minecraft Theme from 2014 (that one doesn't really count though, because it was pretty much inevitable)

i almost immeadly bought the omnic bastion that was exclusive to the Blizzard shop, even though i couldn't care less about Overwatch, because the set was a really cool exclusive that i just needed to have.

i then digitally rebuilt the set and began modding it to have variants based on some of the different skins that were available for Bastion.

2019's going to be a lot, maybe i'll split it into two weeks.

-Cold water slipping on your skin, the nice shock making the blood rush through your veins. It was nice, as you dipped your other foot in as well. There were a few birds and cranes nearby, as well as a couple of fish that swam close, but not too close to you, them very much respecting your space. Once again, it seems the creatures of Teyvat really do take a liking to you, that or your divinity as their god.

-The sun made the water sparkle, causing the water to look like shimmering gold when the sun hit the reflections just right. The Wind lightly blew, your hair tickling your face for a second before settling back down. You were incredibly grateful that the world was on your side.

-It hurt your heart for the characters, no, people, that you spent so much time on, hate you so. You understood why though. You looked like their divine god. A god that you definitely didn't see in the game, but this wasn't Genshin Impact. It was a real world, the real Teyvat, and in Teyvat, you happened to look like their supreme god.

-And for another reason you didn't understand, the creatures of Teyvat claimed you to be their god. Even though the humans didn't. You really didn't understand any of this, as an Abyss Mage you happened to stumble upon to tell you.

-You thought, that just like the people who tried to smite you down, to kill you, the Abyss Mage would certainly do the same. When they didn’t, you were even more confused at their words, calling you “Your Grace,” saying that you were their god, that the others were confused, that they could take you to their ruler where you will be treated as such.

-Obviously, with you having been running for your life across Liyue and Mondstadt, and your current predicament of having your previous knowledge of Genshin Impact, (that and the immense stress you had been feeling,) you sprinted like a wild animal as soon as you got the chance, lucky the Abyss Mage didn't follow you, it probably stunned to speak that it had even ran into you.

-You were lost with your thoughts for a long while, but given the current circumstances, and how the world itself interacted with you, you had to admit the fact.

-The World was helping you, and giving you the space you needed to figure out everything. I mean, being chased with the intention of killing you is traumatic in itself, but being chased by people who you thought were fictional characters, screaming profanities at you, accusing you of impersonating their god you had no idea about? Yeah. That's next level trauma.

-You shook your head, slipping back into the present, one of the fish has approached you, its scales slightly rubbing against your leg. You wanted to freak out, but you were much more occupied with the several birds that had accumulated around you, and the wind itself seemingly gently embracing you. What were you, some disney princess?

-Alrighty, if you were actually impersonating this world's god, surely the world itself, and its creatures wouldn't be treating you with such kindness. So that must have meant the Abyss Mage wasn't lying when it said you were Teyvats god.

- The people who hunted you, Jean, Kaeye, with their troops chasing you out of Mondstat, Diluc whose flames threatened to burn his own winery in his rage at such an atrocious act.

-Xiangling, who had helped you out of the river that swept you far away in your attempt to shield yourself from his flames, only to screech and lunge at you. Ninguang, who commanded the millelith to hunt you down. Even Keqing, with her general dislike for the gods, looked at you in disgust when you ran away. You didn't even dare think of the other vision holders who had also been less than civil as you ran across Liyue and Mondstadt.

-You were almost flattered really that they went to this length to protect their gods image, considering that you must be their god, but that feeling quickly subsided when you felt your aching body. And even more so when another thought bubbled into your head.

-They were trying to kill you for so much as looking like, well, you, so what did they do to other people who even barely resemble you? What about people who have ever made a joke about you? Surely they hadn't been killed…. Right? You sighed, slightly splashing the water with your legs, scattering the even more now fish who circled you, them still quickly returning.

-You couldn't decide what was worse, being chased by an angry mob, filled with people you love, or your schoolwork, chores, and job you no longer had to worry about. Honestly, considering how mundane your previous life was, you were leaning towards the angry mob. Nothing could be scary-er then getting an email from your professor, asking for an assignment you didn’t even know existed.

-I mean, this was your chance to live as some magical fairy princess/prince/royalty, somewhat at least. One of the birds has dropped fruit by you, as well as a few squirrels offering berries and such. Since you were hungry, you just ate them, head deep in thoughts. What now?

-After a while, you decided to keep moving. Standing up, the birds scattering as you do so, you begin walking. You weren't quite sure where you were going, but If you were stuck in this world for the time being, it would probably be wise to at least get yourself a proper house of sorts.

Time skip or smth sorry fam

You were quite proud of yourself and the work you had accomplished. You had been here for about a month now, and after a week of running around, fearing for your life, you had found a location, far, far away from any human civilizations.

- You had found a small cave opening, and that was where you decided to make your home. It wasn't very large, more of like a more notable puncture in the cliff face, but it was sheltered from the wind, protected you from rain, etc!

-It wasn't very comfortable, but many creatures brought you things to help construct your new home. It started with birds and squirrels bringing you berries, flowers, and other foods you could eat by themselves. Eventually they started bringing different trinkets, maybe from a nearby village, or some abandoned ruins? You saw many of them on your way to where you were now.

-You woke up one morning to see a whole pack of Hilichurls surrounding your cave. Hillichurls, samachurls, and mitachurls. You honestly thought you were going to die! But huh? Instead of beating you into a pulp, they brought gifts!

-One of them, speaking words you were unable understand, slightly prodded you to the side, handing you blankets and a bowl of what you assumed was soup. You didn't really ask, not that you would understand their reply, so you kinda sat back and ate their food.

-You were confused when you saw them bring planks, and more! You watched as they constructed a wall outside of the cliff, and at the end of the day, there was a solid wall constructed, with an opening for the door.

-you slept on the blankets they provided, no longer worried about them possibly injuring you. It took a few days of them talking to you, or well, you talking to them with them making affirmative motions and words you assumed, and by the end of it they had made what seemed to be a house! Just for you!

-There wasn't a door, they had instead put a thick cloth / drape as the entrance. Door hinges and handles were probably just far too complex for them to create with ruined remains. They had laid out a wooden floor, and even walls to keep the outside world out, and the inside, well in.

-It honestly reminded you of those minecraft houses you would make during the night, quickly digging into the earth to make some kind of lodging, placing the floor with wood, and then carving it out.

-There was an abyss mage that later came around, telling you that their master, who you had assumed to be one of the twins from the game, had sent them to construct a proper living arrangement for you, because you did not accept the invitation to live there.

-whilst the idea of riches beyond your imaginable dreams would be neat, you disliked the idea of living in the Abyss. For what should be obvious reasons. You thanked the abyss mage and the creatures all for helping you, and they cheered and danced happily at your gratitude. You offered to repay them, not that you had anything to do so with since they literally just built you a house, but they declined regardless. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad?

Another time skip idk

-Your wooden bowls clinked against each other as you washed em out in the nearby calm river, it was only about 40 steps away from your cavern home, and it was nice, certainly. A few fish swam up close to your hands as you washed away the excess on the bowls, a few of the fish nibble away at anything that washed off.

-You dried the bowls, holding them to your side as you walked back up towards your little house. Anemo Slimes bounced in the air overhead, following you as they always do, a few dendro slimes scurrying around you as well, making bubbling noises as greetings. The Whole of teyvat loved seeing you, being around you, even tho monsters you had originally farmed and fought, you had seen them as friends now, helpers.

-Ducking under the heavy cloth covering for the door, you set the bowls aside on your makeshift counter, The window letting in a positive warming sun and light. Not that light was ever an issue for you though, crystal flies and fireflies loved laying on the roof of your home, providing a nice glow whenever you required it.

-The sun blocked out for a second, and you turned your head to see a curious cryo whopper flower peeking its head in through the window. “Well hello now, what could you possibly want?” The Cryo flower looked sheepish almost, before taking one of its vines?tendrils? You didn;t know, through the window. You saw that it was holding a battle, of what appeared to be milk!

-You hadn't had such a delicacy in a while, and you were quite excited! “Where in the world did you get that now?” Your excitement quickly faded when you looked further out the window to see hillichurls carrying things towards your house, crates, or, well, shipment supplies.

-You walked out, exasperated. “What is the meaning of this?” The hillichurls and company put down their things, waving their hands about trying to tell you what had occurred. Though you couldn't understand them verbally, your connection to the world as its god had definitely helped, as you were able to understand them rather well regardless, if not exactly.

-”So, you all looted some guys' wagons for me?” You peered at the goods in the crates, a few bottles of milk, sugars, and salts and spices. “You guys can’t just do that, the person who was delivering these is probably going to be in a lot of trouble.” You frowned at them, and everyone immediately lowered in shame, as if they were wilting flowers. You couldn't possibly stay mad at them, you had just been asking for such things earlier for your palette.

-”Cheer up everyone, I’m not mad at you all.” the slimes jumped up and down happily in a circle around you, the hillichurls making happy grunts?words? You don't know, nor does the writer, before they all started carrying the few boxes back towards your house.

-”Hey! Wipe your feet first before putting all that away! I just sweeped earlier!”

MCC16 Yellow Yaks Skins!

So apparently this is just a thing I do now. If this is the first of my MCC skin posts you’re seeing, I’m a huge fan of CaptainSparklez and Minecraft Championship. I did CaptainSparklez’ MCC14 (here) and MCC15 (here) teams. And now it’s the MCC16 team’s turn! Feel free to share this, just tag this post so that it links back to me. Thank you! Ok, more below the cut.

I’m using my reddit username as the signature, don’t worry I’m not stealing from anyone.

So this time I had a bit more of an inkling I was going to do this (as I’ve done it twice before). But I wasn’t sure how to theme it. And then I thought, ‘hey, both CaptainSparklez and HBomb94 are in Vault Hunters, let’s style it after that!’ Yeah, so at the time the Aqua Axolotls weren’t released yet and I had no idea there would be a 3/4 Vault Hunters team. Whatever, HBomb94 said he thought the team would do well in Sands of Time, I can use that as my excuse.

And I totally decided to make putting the mascot on the back a sort of signature of mine. I did use a different design this time, simply because the previous Yak would’ve been way too big. So mini-Yak it is! It’s very cute. Also, I shaded the clothes this time. It was... something. At least I sort of learned what the burn/dodge tool is for.

Anyways, here’s the individual breakdown.

Going to start with Ponk because that’s the one I started with. Now, I don’t know Ponk very well, but when I found his skin I noticed that most had what I believe is a balaclava? Anyways his head thing. I thought I’d turn it into this scarf because I was basing this off of Nathan Drake from Uncharted. That and Indiana Jones were my main two references. Also, fun fact, I shaded this one last. Oh, and the hair is not mine, he had a skin which had his hair showing so I used that.

Hey it’s GeorgeNotFound. I feel like I’ve done his skin before... Actually, I kind of ran into the same problem I had when I was doing the MCC14 skins. Namely, GeorgeNotFound’s skin is very plain. Which is fine and all, except when everyone else on the team has more complex skins. So I gave him a scarf to match Ponk. I also decided not to match the block shading this time. I left the skin and hair matching it, but then shaded the clothes to match the team. I think it worked out nicely.

HBomb94′s skin was tricky. Do you know how hard plaid is to pull off on a minecraft skin? It’s very hard. I had to redesign it because the pattern he usually wears is weirdly spaced (and once you see that you can’t ever un-see it). But it’s totally worth it, I love how it turned out. I also moved it to the outer layer so that I could fit a shirt underneath. I initially had is pants with a more cowboy vibe, but it wasn’t matching the theme. I may have to do a cowboy theme one day.

And finally, CaptainSparklez. I feel like you can see that I drew some inspiration from my last Yellow Yak skin for CaptainSparklez. Which is sort of the hard part about him being on the same color. I’ve got to do yellow again while not matching my own work or the skin he ended up actually using. This skin, most of all, I think, shows how I’m improving month over month. I like the subtle gradient on the coat a lot. And I’m a lot happier with a yellow coat. It feel a lot more Yellow Yaks than a brown coat does.

Plus, here’s the special bonus round! I don’t know Ponk. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t mind the scarf design. But just in case, I altered the skin slightly to include the balaclava mask. And this one does make it more clear who it is, as the other one is a bit less recognizable.

A new SMP is coming out in 2 days, I shouldn't have thoughts yet. Spoiler Alert: I do.

Okay so on March 4th, in two days, a bunch of minecraft content creators will be doing a new modded SMP. We do not know what this is called yet, and I'm not certain we know everyone who is in it yet.

What follows this will be a list of what content creators are involved(that I'm aware of currently), what is currently known about their Origin, and a few assumptions I have made about their characters, based on the very little information I have.

Some of these will be based on practically nothing since some people appearing to be involved I have not watched at all, in years, and/or that much of. Due to this reason, some people will not have any assumptions at all. They will still be included. All teasers/announcements have been found on Twitter.

I am not a reliable source of information, If I’m wrong about anything.. Oops.

Please note, whenever I say rules, that is not talking about any actual server rules that could exist that effect the ccs. It’s more to help explain how I think their characters would react to having some kind of rules/laws in-story as a way to help explain what kind of characters I believe they might be.

Scott/Smajor1995/Dangthatsalongname

Scott appears to be a luna moth from his new minecraft skin and his ability to fly in his teaser. I do not exactly know what Origin it is, he seems to have the ability to fly (not quite creative or elytra flight) and appears to be smaller than a normal minecraft character.

Every inch of my being currently believes he’s going to be some kind of trickster in this SMP, maybe he won’t be exactly destructive but I’m getting the feeling that he’d have secret tunnels going into everyone’s houses that nobody but him is aware of. No secrets will be safe from Mothman Scott Smajor. Chaotic neutral (he possibly helped make the rules, he’ll ignore them whenever he wants)

LaurenZside

Lauren appears to be an Avian, an origin that can float like chickens, is faster than normal, and I believe cannot consume meat. This is supported by her new minecraft skin and her teaser.

I don't really know much about Lauren, but from past knowledge I believe she will be somewhat harmlessly chaotic on this server. I do not know what I think that will entail. I feel like I’ll call her the Chicken Queen. Neutral good. (she ignores the rules, she follows them unintentionally.)

Oli/TheOrionSound 

Oli appears to be some kind of End-based origin, however due to a lack of anything other than his skin, I am unsure of what exactly. (his teaser was mostly about his lack of content.)

I have not watched anything of his since the war of Crazycraft (5ish years) and don’t really have anything to go off of other than that. I’m just hoping if he starts another war it’s interesting. Chaotic neutral. (he doesn’t know the rules, he doesn’t care about the rules.)

Fwhip

Fwhip seems to be a magic origin of some kind, his trailer seems to include him teleporting with a magical sound effect. His skin also supports the idea of him being some kind of wizard.

Again, I don’t have much to go off of. However I’m getting lawful neutral vibes here. (aka, he knows the rules, follows the rules, exploits the rules.)

Mythical Sausage

Sausage appears to be an elytrian, an origin that spawns in with a permanent elytra, cannot wear heavy armor, and cannot be in confined spaces for long. Although his elytra does not seem visiblem, it appears in his trailer although he was using Elytra flight.

I listened to the song “king of the world” by Young Rising Sons, Idk why but I feel like that will be the theme song for him/his pov in this smp. I also believe this is just because I saw fanart for his new skin while listening to it on repeat. As usual, chaotic good. (He doesn’t care about the rules, he doesn’t want to hurt people.

Seapeekay/CPK

CPK appears to be a giant, an origin that is unsurprisingly larger than normal minecraft and appears to have the ability to jump and create small craters on impact. I do not know much about this origin, in his teaser he said he was a giant.

I don’t know anything about CPK, I’ve only seen things about him before this from other smps, and other people’s povs of those smps. I’m guessing he might be slightly destructive with the smash ability. True neutral (might not be aware there are rules, does not intentionally break them.)

Meghan/Gamerburry

I am not exactly familiar with the origin Meghan appears to be in her teaser. It appears to be a mushroom-based origin capable of turning at least podzol into mycelium. 

Again, I don’t know anything about Gamerburry. I feel like she’ll have a beautiful garden and home. (might just be cottagecore vibes) Lawful good (Doesn’t seem like she’ll be initiating much chaos/trouble.)

Mika

Mika appears to be an end or nether based origin. The only clues I picked up on was that they got hurt by the rain.

No idea who this is, I found the teaser that was it. No assumptions.

Shelby/Shubble

I can’t even guess what this origin is. She appears to be somewhat transparent and dark gray/black, and produces what I believe are smoke or lava particles as well as small firework-like particles that I don’t recognize.

I barely know about Shelby or this origin, however I believe keeping secret rooms secret from her would be very difficult. True neutral (She’s aware of the rules, does not exactly care to follow them, has no interest in doing anything that breaks them however)

Jimmy/Solidarity and Katherine Elizabeth did not post teasers as far as I’m aware, I have nothing to go off of except content of theirs I’ve interacted with. I do not have any assumptions for either of them yet.

Gem/Geminitay has posted something that hinted she might be involved, but without a teaser or any kind of other definite proof, I have no assumptions.

Joey Graceffa might also potentially be involved but I haven’t found proof or indication past a single sentence in a vlog posted on youtube.

Going w/ the whole Minecraft Killer Bunny theme for this one, but I made a lot of the ribbons pink because Pig is still His Brand. Also I have like 0 Asian blood in me but I’ve always been a fan of Oriental mythology from different countries, & since he’s (probably) a bunny & is always talking about going to the moon I wanted to give his design a Lunar-Rabbit-legend sort of feel to it. I got the fur-stripes-mimicking-tusks idea from @tokkytikky​ ‘s design. His hat’s made of straw but the same color as pig!techno’s golden crown. Gave him a few jade charms becase jade is extremely valuable & has a lot of significance in China. (Probably gonna change how the eyes look ‘cause they seem kind of off somehow)

I draw Ranboo characters A LOT, but I have, like, no consistent designs for them, so here’s my attempt to change that. Since the Enderian Origins are said to be descended from the Dragon, & cc!Ranboo has stated o!Ranboo canonically sheds his skin, I wanted to make this design very clearly reptilian (though a few of his mannerisms are slightly feline). Don’t have a full-body version yet but hope to soon. (also his hair’s not gonna stay that color, it’s just my screen was VERY dark when I made this so black made it too hard to see anything.)

Here we have him in his three most common phases: 1) Don’t Touch Me, or Hit The Road Jack “WHATCHUSAY?”, 2) Ooh Look A Shiny, and 3) *anime villain laugh* You’re About To Die

DocM, space outlaw and the nicest mob boss you’ll ever meet. Don’t let his grumpy expression fool you! I honestly don’t know how I managed to put off drawing Doc for so long since his character design checks off all of my favorite design themes- weird, kind of creepy, and intimidating. Not to mention his minecraft skin is awesome, he has a great background for this au, and I was excited to incorporate my personal Doc design into a space suit design. (To be honest, I think the pain I went through designing Iskall’s cybernetic arm made me want to stay away from drawing any other roboarms for a while.) Speaking of roboarms, the true star of the show here is Doc’s cybernetic arm, which was meticulously designed by @willowstream-hp as always (who is now my official weapons guy). The full post with all of the details can be seen here.

Also, we’re officially done with the 24 active hermits! It only took me two months to draw them all :D I’m not done yet, though, since I have lots of other important people to still draw! Stick around for those eventual posts!

I am still working on that chapter, but let's be honest, time has no meaning right now and I'm really shocked that it's June all of a sudden. 👀

In a humorous sort of thing for Minecraft, by the way, I downloaded a Bee Farming themed RPG map, and since I use the QuackerJack avatar skin often, I guess I fulfilled Jacky’s request from the last chapter to help bring more bees to the yard. 😅

There's also free Minecraft maps for Washington DC (you pick up trash around the place and visit monuments) and the Space Station (and float in space) and Redstone Circuitry tutorials, and honestly, playing as the QuackerJack skin there really has this interesting feel of "This is very out of character, but also I can totally see QuackerJack taking the opportunity to slow drive a brightly painted tractor through a town while bulldozing the arcade."

The point is: Minecraft is one if my favorite games and it's especially super enjoyable to imagine the QuackerJack avatar skin as a sort of "Whiffle While You Work" redux situation where he's gotta figure out how to survive in the game, and is probably begrudgingly having a good time with the building functions.

So yeah, I've probably been wasting too much time on Minecraft and Animal Crossing and Pokemon. Whoopsie doodles. 👀

Fine, I guess I'll just write out what I CAN remember about shapeshifting. >:( [Warning for violence, self-harm, and suicide. Pretty fucked up stuff in this one.]

The first thing I remember about 'shapeshifting' was when I was first getting used to existing in general in the pocket dimension. It was at the stage where I was getting pretty good at copying objects. I cannot for the life of me remember what even happened, but I had gotten really pissed off. I was just... Destroying one of my creations (literally just a wooden ball), when my fucking hand just turns into a fleshy, spiky mace, and I slammed the mace into the ball. My hand felt like it'd fallen asleep completely when this happened. I remember looking at my hand and freaking the hell out, waving it around, like 'get it off get it off!!!' When I stopped shaking, it was back to being a normal hand. I was real fuckin unnerved, stopped being angry real quick.

I'm trying to go sequentially, so I'll talk about the fucked up one next. I had been watching this family for a while. It was a family of three; a dad, a mom, and their son who was fairly young. The mom had some really, really bad depressive episodes, one of which involved her hurting herself in an attempt to end her life. I'm almost positive I hung around just because it was an easy meal involving no effort from me.

Thinking back on this... I don't even know why I did it. Some kind of sick boredom? But I ended up shoving the dad into the pocket dimension. I trapped him in a pit of something sticky (unsure what), and shapeshifted myself into his wife. I revealed I was holding a knife to him, and he went ape shit trying to get out of the goop. But all he could really do is look on as I raised the blade to my own throat. He howled and shrieked his wife's name as I slowly drug it across my throat, cold steel sensitive against my skin. His fear and anguish was probably the most potent I'd ever fed off of.

After I sent him back, I hung around for a little while. The poor guy was losing his mind looking for his wife (who was at work still, I think). His son approached him and he just... Embraced him for a long time. Eventually, the mom came home, and he ran up to her bawling his eyes out. I was already lethargic from being full, but just... Damn. I actually, legitimately feel bad for doing that. That guy didn't deserve that at all.

Now onto brighter things. One of the favorite things I remember doing in this life. Something that really changed how I looked at things back then.

I had one rule when it came to manipulating people for their energy: don't target kids. My morals fluctuated pretty wildly in that life, but I always had that baseline. Don't directly ruin a kid's life.

I remember I was walking around near the eveningtime on a pier. The city I was born in was a place on the ocean, and there was this nice little area with storefronts and restaurants facing it. I think I went there when I really wanted some fresh air.

There was this kid I'd see every time I was down there. Dirty clothes, messy hair, looked like he hadn't showered in weeks. I'd always see him at a pizzeria, where the chef would give him cooked pizza dough. He'd sit on a bench and eat it while watching the waves crash in.

He also happened to have one of the most... Simple, pure-sounding Compositions I'd ever heard. (The closest song I can find to it is Cat, from Minecraft). Listening to it seemed to calm me down no matter how I was feeling. I gathered all the information I needed to know from listening to it. He was an orphan. His mom died when he was young. He lived at a shitty foster home that hardly fed and bathed him.

I'd gotten pretty good at manipulating the pocket dimension at that point. I was to the point where I was able to make small towns out of things, and still keep them looking realistic. I ended up stealing a laptop at some point, and I looked at probably hundreds of images of circuses and amusement parks. I was going to give this kid a day of fun. It was my evil plan.

So, one day while he was snoozing on the park bench, I shove him in. I had a vague impression of what his mother looked like from the time I'd spent listening to him, so I shapeshifted into her, or at least something like her. As soon as he raised his head after landing in, he looked right at me, and his face went white. He just asked... "Mom?" and I extended my hand to him. I told him that the park was reserved for just us today, and that we were going to have a fun day together. He came running up to me, grabbing my hand.

I leaned a little too hard into the 'loving mother' role. I let him ride whatever rides he wanted to. Whenever he said that he wished the park had a certain ride, I smiled, and said 'well, maybe they do, and we haven't run into it yet!', and there it would be after we turned a corner. Me and that kid spent hours running around the theme park that never ended. And during those hours, I realized something.

During that time, that kid was radiating so much happiness, joy, excitement... And it made me feel the same way. I hadn't had that much fun in years. I was still focusing on siphoning energy (mostly because I HAD to, keeping the illusion of an entire theme park is hard work), and I felt so energetic. I didn't feel hungry, I didn't feel lethargic, I just... Felt great. I'd gotten so used to, so ADDICTED to making people feel fear towards me, that I'd forgotten what actually having fun felt like.

So, at the end of the day, I told the kid that it was time to go home, but I had one more place that I wanted to show him. While I was figuring out placements for rides and such, I placed the Space Needle (that huge 200 ft thing that lifts you up and drops you) on the edge of the park... So when you were at the top, you could see the whole park. I told the kid to close his eyes, and I teleported us to the very top of it. We sat down and admired the view for a little while. I was pretty proud of all the work I'd put into crafting all the stuff.

After a moment, he looked at me, and told me that he knew that I wasn't his mom. I let out a sigh, and just said, 'welp, I tried, at least.' The kid laughed at me, and we stared out over the park for a few more moments. Then he asked me if he could see what I really looked like.

I was very, very tempted to shapeshift into something terrifying... But the kid's Composition was so pure, that I knew he wasn't going to have any foul intent with what I looked like. He genuinely just wanted to know. So... I dropped the act. Let the kid see me in all my stupid pink-haired glory. He got a little wide eyed, and told me that I was the 'guy he saw on all the posters'. I kind of chuckled at him, asking if I was that famous.

He told me that he'd heard a lot of bad things about me. I could tell he was getting nervous, but I also sensed confusion. He asked me a lot of questions, mostly of why I didn't hurt him. Why I didn't scare him. There'd been a lot of reports about how I abducted people and traumatized them. I ended up breaking down pretty badly in front of this poor kid, explaining that I didn't necessarily WANT to hurt people, I was just operating off my survival instincts, and it got to my head... I don't think he understood. But he taught me a pretty valuable lesson.

After it was all said and done, I warped him back to the pier. I never contacted or went around him again. The whole encounter kept me fed for a way longer than any fear ever did. It really made me shift out of 'primal instincts hunter' mode, and helped me feel like a person again. Food wasn't the only reason to stay alive. I didn't WANT to just live day to day, wondering how I'd get my next meal. So... I changed my approach. But that's a story for another day.
