Merthur - Reunited

"Arthur, you know what?" Merlin purred, a wicked little spark dancing in his eyes as he tilted his head.

"No, what, Merlin?" Arthur grinned, his voice low and teasing, already caught in the game.

They were tangled on the couch, a delicious mess of limbs—Arthur’s leg slung lazily over Merlin’s thighs, possessive and warm. Their lips hovered so close that every breath was a shared secret, a whisper of heat brushing skin.

"The…" Merlin paused, clearing his throat with exaggerated drama, though his smirk betrayed him.

"The last time I held you in my arms, you were dying."

"Oh, was I?" Arthur quipped, arching a brow as he shifted closer, his tone dripping with mock innocence. "Funny, I feel very much alive right now."

"Yeah, you were," Merlin shot back, his voice softening into something velvet-smooth, his fingers trailing lightly along Arthur’s arm. "And I was losing my mind, you dramatic prat."

"Merlin," Arthur chuckled, his hand sliding to the small of Merlin’s back, pulling him in with a slow, deliberate tug.

"Don’t you dare apologize. I’m back—here, with you. You and me, forever." His words were a vow wrapped in a sultry promise.

Merlin nestled closer, his nose brushing Arthur’s jaw, lips grazing just shy of a kiss. "Forever’s an awfully long time," he murmured, his tone playful yet edged with hunger. "Think you can handle me that long?"

Arthur’s laugh was a low rumble, vibrating between them.

"Thousands of years without you nearly broke me," he said, his voice dipping as he wrapped his hands around Arthur. "I’d say I’m owed a little eternity to make up for it."

Their eyes locked, the air thick with unspoken need, and then Arthur leaned in—slowly, teasingly—until their lips met, soft at first, then deepening into something hungry, electric, timeless.

Okay, hear me out: I've been afraid to post these manips for a while out of fear of being accused of some disturbing IRL things. I know this is possibly my most WTF ship, but let me ask you: Have you ever shipped something solely based on characters' personalities and how well you think they mesh together?

I hope I'm explaining this well. I'm just attracted to what their emotional, spiritual, and intellectual chemistry would be like. I like the idea of Jasmine and Simba confiding, comforting, cuddling, and just being companions for each other—not in a pet-and-owner way, but as close friends. It would be insulting to call Simba a pet. They love each other, yes, but not sexually, just romantically. Plus, they kinda remind me of Kenai and Nita from Brother Bear 2. And yes, I ship them because of the Whole New Underworld event from Disney Mirrorverse. 😳👉👈

I was inspired by the legends of animal bridegrooms from fairy tales, where humans and animals form deep bonds. I was also inspired by the fairy tale "The Singing, Springing Lark." The Singing, Springing Lark is this fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm about a man who promises his daughter a singing, springing lark, but to get it, he must promise her to a lion. The lion is an enchanted prince, and she eventually falls in love with him. After many trials and magical adventures, she breaks the curse, and they live happily ever after.

I like to think of them as soul mates, each completing the other in a way that's almost mystical. Just like the Daemons from The Golden Compass, their connection goes beyond the physical, diving deep into the realm of the spiritual. They'd understand and support each other like no one else could.

This ship is based solely on FICTIONAL fairytale whimsy, so I don't want to see the words b3stiality or z00philia commented on this post, please, because those are real sexual disorders that I do NOT in any way support.

THE SUN AND THE OCEAN: PETER/CASPIAN HEADCANONS

@eds-gryff and I were talking a while ago about Caspeter and she mentioned that they had sun/ocean dynamics—Peter being the sun and Caspian being the ocean. I immediately starting looking into the science (because that’s how my brain works) and proceeded to ramble on about how I saw that dynamic in their relationship. I rather liked some of the thoughts I had so I decided to expand and share :)

So, welcome to my first Caspeter headcanons post which I’ve presented through the lens of how the sun and ocean affect each other in nature :)

The Science: Sunlight penetrates the water, heats it and generates currents.

Caspeter: Peter brings warmth and light to Caspian’s life. Both figuratively, because Caspian was starved of love and affection while growing up under his uncle’s thumb, and literally, because he has always been far more susceptible to the cold while Peter has always run hot. So, not only did Caspian gain a family in the Pevensies and the love of his life in Peter, but he also gained a living hot water bottle to snuggle up to at night when he’s cold. The course of Caspian’s life was forever changed when High King Peter the Magnificent returned to Narnia.

The Science: The ocean absorbs the majority of the sun’s radiation, sometimes acting like a massive, heat-retaining solar panel.

Caspeter: Caspian is the best kind of listener and Peter trusts him more than anyone. This initially started out as Caspian encouraging Peter to tell him all his stories from the Golden Age. But, as time went on and they grew closer, this quickly evolved into Peter feeling like he could tell Caspian anything and everything. Also, once he became aware of Peter’s tendency to spiral emotionally when he gets stuck in his own head, Caspian started encouraging him to talk about whatever was bothering him just to break him out of that loop.

The Science: The ocean currents regulate global climate, helping to counteract its uneven distribution reaching Earth's surface.

Caspeter: Caspian is definitely the more level headed of the two and became quite adept at softening Peter's more dramatic emotions. Even calming him to the point that Caspian often stopped Peter from acting impulsively when he was really angry or upset about something. Either by talking Peter round and getting him to see that it’s not that bad, or simply by giving Peter a safe space to vent.

The Science: The sun's energies support life in the ocean and causes it to evaporate when heated beyond a certain point.

Caspeter: Peter nourishes Caspian’s soul. Both indirectly, as a result of Caspian hearing stories of the High King when he was younger, and directly, through Peter loving him and supporting him during the early days of his reign. And it’s through that nourishment that Caspian is lifted up to be more than he thought he could be in his role as King of Narnia. Although Caspian’s world never felt as bright or as warm after the Pevensies returned to their world, he’ll forever be grateful that Peter Pevensie was a part of his life. Even if only for a short while.
