@geekgirlofarchangels Requested: Hi! (I just wanted to say that I love your writing, it's amazing)😍
Can I request Eddie Brock x reader, who bake sweets for him, basically try to show her love for him in many ways in a day to day basis, and when she decides to tell him that she loves him, she sees him with Anne and misunderstand everything.
She panics, but ends fluff? Sorry for any mistakes English is not my first language
A/N: No worries!! Thank you for the request and I hope you enjoy!! Day 6! So many more to go!
"I think I need better piping tips." You said, looking over to Eddie for some reassurance.
The man had a one track mind, and right now, the only thing he could think of was the cookies you had in the oven. He's been staring at it for the last five minutes.
"A watched pot never boils." You said, finally catching his attention.
"And watched cookies never bake." he retorted turning around to look at the cake you'd be decorating, "I think it looks nice."
"Really?"
"Of course!"
"You're not just being cute and nice, right?"
"What would I gain from lying? Name one thing."
"More sweets?"
"That is true, but I don't have to lie to get those."
You rolled your eyes with a smile as you moved the cake to the other counter so that way you had room for the cookies. Before you, Eddie wasn't really the type of guy to have a sweet tooth, but oh boy you sure did change that. You worked at a bakery, and you were still practicing your skills any chance you got.
Eddie was a good and somewhat unbiased judge. He never lied to you, but he was never mean about anything either. If something needed worked on, he'd tell you nicely.
"Why are you stressing so much about your decorating skills anyways? I think you're amazing at it."
"My boss really wants me to start helping out in the decorating area..I was just worried that I was totally going to suck." You set your piping bag off to the side and wiped off your hands, "I just want to make sure I can do everything perfectly."
"You got this. It'll be a breeze for you. I mean, c'mon, look at it. It's really good."
You took a moment to really admire your cake. Yeah, it was pretty good.
Eddie really was so nice and loving to you. He was nothing like any of the other people you'd chosen to spend your time with before. Eddie actually wanted to do things with you, and he was constantly dragging you along for new adventures, and actually paid attention to your wants and needs.
You really liked him. Well, if you were being honest, you were really hopelessly in love with him. And you wanted to tell him, and you were sure he felt the same, but you really wanted to make it special.
Should you write it in icing on a cookie? Or maybe he was a bit tired of cookies. Maybe he'd expect you to do that since you're a baker and all. Maybe you should just tell him. Face to face.
You both left for work, saying your goodbyes and sharing a kiss or two. You were going to tell him after work. It'd finally be a weight off your chest to finally say just how you felt.
Despite having a seemingly normal day, you began to feel a little puzzled towards lunch. Normally, somehow, someway, Eddie always found his way to your work. It was bizarre how your lunch breaks always lined up, but you were sure he did that on purpose.
He didn't show up today, so you spent your break alone. You'd texted him to have a good rest of the day at work, but he never texted back. Maybe he just got busy, you told yourself.
You managed to clock out and make your way home, and still no response from Eddie. He wasn't even home yet. It was 6:45. Normally, he's home way before you. You shrugged it off as a late day at the office as you changed out of your work clothes.
Eddie got home at about 7:15 pm, and didn't say much as to why that was. He was his normal cheery self. He doted on you as usual, and you two ate together. Every thing was fine, but it didn't feel fine.
Things continued on like that for a few days. You had this persistent nagging feeling that Eddie was hiding something, and it was getting in the way of talking to him. It was getting far too annoying to ignore.
Today, one of your rare days off, you decided to hell with it. You were going to make Eddie a nice dinner and just tell him. Maybe then the nagging feeling would go away. Maybe you were just nervous because this was a huge thing to say, especially to Eddie.
You were making your way downtown, to the store, to pick up a few ingredients for dinner. Your list was short, so this really shouldn't take too long. You walked passed a café that you and Eddie frequented, and your body froze just a few steps passed the big front window. The hell was that?
You must've been seeing things. Surely you hadn't seen what you thought you saw, right? Not wanting to be seen, just in case your eyes weren't tricking you, you turned your body a little. You couldn't believe it. There was was. Even if all you saw was the back of his head, you knew it was him solely because of who was sitting across from him at the little table.
"Anne?" you asked yourself quietly.
She looked like she was in good spirits today. Her smile was warm and inviting as always, and it looked like she was chuckling at something Eddie had just said. You couldn't look away.
Why would he do this to you? Are you really surprised? After all, he did love her first. Maybe he never really loved you to begin with.
You made your way back to the apartment to gather your thoughts. There was to be a rational explanation for this. They weren't doing anything bad, but, you did find yourself worrying because...Well, you know, it was Anne.
For the first time in years, you felt angry. How could he do that to you? You should just leave and just call him later and tell him that you're never coming back. You froze halfway to the door once you realized what had really happened. Eddie chose her. And you knew that time after time he'd do it again.
You felt stupid. You felt a few tears slip out and you tried to fight them off, but that only seemed to make it worse. The door opened, and the sound of keys hitting the counter caught your attention.
"Oh!" Eddie said, "You're home! Good, I have- Hey, are you okay?"
You just stared at him.
He walked over, attempting to comfort you, but you took a few steps back, causing him to freeze. He looked wounded.
"Did something happen?" he asked, lowering his hands.
"I don't know," You said bitterly, "Why don't you go ask Anne?"
"Anne?" Then it registered, "Oh! Oh, no, babe, that's-"
"I don't want to hear any excuses, Eddie! How could you do that to me? How could you string me along and then just backstab me like that."
"No!" He really wanted to hold you, but he knew he had to refrain, "No, no, no! It wasn't like that. I swear!"
"I can't even look at you." You rushed into the bedroom, slamming the door. "God! I'm so, so stupid!"
Eddie listened to your slightly muffled yelling for a minute or two before moving over to the door to open it.
"I shouldn't even be here anymore!" You shouted, throwing open the door, "I have to go."
You tried to move past Eddie, but as a reflex, he grabbed your arm, "Please don't do that."
You tugged and pulled, but you couldn't wiggle free. He wasn't holding too tight, and he wasn't hurting you. You just couldn't get free, "Let go of me!"
"I swear I'd never do that to you!" He pleaded, "Will you just let me explain?"
You stopped fighting and just stared helplessly ahead, "What is there to explain, huh? You don't love me like I love you, so there's nothing left to talk about."
"You love me?"
"Of course I do! But it's obvious that you don't love me! So, just, let go!"
"I love you too!" He said loudly.
It's like the whole world stopped in that moment as your head whipped around to look at him. He looked like his whole world was about to end. This wasn't how any of this was supposed to go down.
"I love you." he repeated, "I- I'm so sorry I didn't say it sooner. I..I got nervous so I, as stupid as it sounds, I went to Anne for advice."
Your whole body relaxed as you listened to him.
"I wasn't sure how to say it- Or, I guess, say it right." Eddie sighed a little, "I asked her what I should do. She was always better at this stuff. She gave me this bright idea of a movie and dinner...But it seems like that's all out the window now."
You realized your mistake, "Eddie, I'm sorry...I didn't want it to happen like this either. I had a plan too, and I guess I ruined it."
"I should've just told you. I was just scared you wouldn't feel the same."
"Wouldn't feel the same?" You wanted to sound offended at the thought, "Eddie, why do you think I do all these nice things for you? I wanted to tell you for ages, but I just couldn't."
Eddie let go of your arm, and pulled you into a hug. He hugged you like his life depended on it. You hugged back before sighing, "This really isn't how I wanted this to go."
"I know." he said, "Doesn't make it any less true, does it?"
You shook your head.
"I mean it. I really do love you. I just wanted to make sure I did everything right this time." He sounded disappointed with himself, "I guess I'm always going to screw some things up."
"That's okay." You reassured, "I don't know if you noticed, but I ruined this whole thing. Your plan, my plan. All of it."
"I wouldn't say ruined." Eddie pulled back to look at you, "I'd just say this was a little out of the ordinary."
"Do you still want to go out for dinner? Is that still in the cards?" You asked curiously.
"Of course. Why don't we just take a breather for a little bit."

dance - jeno x f reader
fluff, smut, 2.1k
jeno knows it’s bad, but he can’t help but reminisce on how this all began. he likes to torture himself by reliving the first night over and over. it always starts with the drunken taunts from his teammates, sullied further by his dismissal. ‘no way,’ he’d said. ‘i can’t go there.’ he remembers seeing your roommates hyping you up, followed closely by your misguided steps. even after his earlier reluctance, he still regrets not beating you to the jump, his friends’ clearing their throats, trying to act natural as you approached their booth.
he hated the setting: a grotty sports bar a town over from his college campus. it sold stale, cheap beer, triple vodka sours and served well past three am. this may not sound like the typical start to a love story, but it was a start all the same.
‘do you wanna dance?’ you asked in a painfully small voice, your emboldened strut paling in complete contrast to your timid yet gleaming gaze. jeno still can’t say where he found the courage to agree, but agree he did, nodding behind his beer before following you up to the sticky floor. somewhere along the way you had taken his hand in yours, in fear of losing him in the sea of sweaty bodies. in the musty wave of noughties hits with tacky modern spins, jeno managed to lose himself anyway. he hadn’t a clue where to put his hands, his eyes searching yours as you giggled up at him, cooing at his bewilderment.
so you led. placing his hand on your exposed waist, your top riding up as it hugged the skin beneath your rib. he felt you shiver under his touch, his fingers clenching minutely at the feeling. ‘is this okay?’ he’d yelled, though it came through as more of a whisper under the music. you didn’t respond, instead reaching for his other hand, squeezing it over the denim on your hip. jeno was spinning. not from dancing, and not from the amount he’d drank. he knew it wasn’t down to that, nor the dizzying motion of the lights, the thickness of the air or the pounding of the music. jeno knew it was you. your chest pressed flush to his, your eyes boring into his. he didn’t know when you’d started swaying, his body leaning, moving in time with the music and the others on the floor. he could hear the songs changing, feel the bass beneath his feet. there wasn’t much he could do but enjoy it.
much like he still does. as he drags you close to him, the rosie organza pleated around your chest pressed right up to his satin lapel. his confidence then pales in comparison to now. it only took a few months to see the change, one you nurtured in all the ways a man like jeno needed. in soft assurances and gentle praise. in delicate touches and the softest embraces. in ardent exchanges and steamy quickies.
but the trouble began this past winter. well, technically well before. as a child, jeno had spent his summers visiting his cousin jaemin in his hometown from before he could remember. there the two had fortified a friendship, a real brotherhood that jeno never would have gotten to experience without being cast away to the country every solstice. it was there he met his cousin’s neighbour, mark lee. mark lee, a kind kid with wide eyes and a wider smile, was the kind of kid everyone looked up to. he embodied what jeno typically thought to be an older brother. and he was. to his step sister and cousins, to kids in his neighbourhood, to jeno’s cousin jaemin and eventually to jeno. it’s why, this christmas just gone, when mark had approached jeno, with giddy eyes and a giddier smile, to ask him to be one of his groomsmen - not just due to the refusal of a painfully introverted jaemin - but because of a genuine brotherhood formed between the two, jeno’s big hearted self could not refuse.. bringing us back to where the trouble began.
‘so, are you bringing her to the wedding?’ mark questioned suddenly, his arm pushing through the sleeve of his tux. ‘you definitely shou- it’s a bit tight at the elbow, can you see?’
jeno still curses jaemin for opting out of being a groomsman, leaving jeno to deal with the trivialities of wedding prep. not that he has a real problem with it all. it’s just a fitting, he thought as he walked in, his eyes landing on the black silk hanging off the changing room door. it wasn’t until he realised it was just he and mark - the rest of the groomsmen opting to come on a later date - that he was regretting the decision. because even though no one would admit it to his face, mark was a bit of a groomzilla. less for the usual reasons. he wasn’t rude, short or angered by little inconveniences. he was just a man of superstition, faith, and insurmountable dubiety. he wanted everything to be perfect. he wanted to do as much of his part as he could for his wedding day. jeno thinks his fiancée had been right to leave him the task of the guest list. mark easily knew more people, so was naturally inundated with acquaintances. it was a great idea, jeno thought.. until mark kept- on- pushing- ‘i’ll even relieve you of your duties early, let you go off with her-’
‘thanks man,’ the younger tried, watching the tailor pinch the jacket at his waist. ‘but really, i don’t think i will. i’ll just bring my mom or something.’
‘your mom’s already invited man, you know that.’ jeno huffed at that. of course she is. mark did take his duties seriously after all. ‘couldn’t have her going off on me like jaemin did-’
‘are you comparing my mom to jaemin?’
‘i’m just saying-’ mark paused to thank the attendant, slipping back out of his jacket as he walked up to jeno, squeezing his shoulder. ‘you’ve got nothing to be nervous about, jen. you’re like a brother to me. you should bring her, i’d love to meet her.’
jeno flinches just thinking about it, his spine straightening as mark turned to him fully. jeno manages a shrug, turning back to the mirror just for a second before deciding that, no. no, it wouldn’t be a good idea to introduce his girl to his best friend on his wedding day.
because the issue wasn’t that he wouldn’t invite you.
‘you met her at college, right?’
the issue was that he couldn’t.
‘maybe y/n knows her?’
the issue is that you’re already going.
‘you know what my sister’s like, she gets on with everyone.’
“jen?” you pant, his name falling off your tongue as he bounces you quickly in his lap. “come back to me.” he smiles at your sweet call, your teeth catching his lip between them before slipping your tongue into his mouth.
the ceremony starts in ten minutes, though guests are still pouring into the church. it’s what actually convinced him. that and you, your manicured hand stuffing your damp panties into the pocket of his fitted tux. it had been his undoing, your sweeping frame gliding into a small side door a few feet from the altar.
the clock is ticking but you pay it no mind, your hips halting their rise and fall as you dig your heels into the masoned floor, grinding your hips back and forth as you ride him. you feel his nails dig painfully into your skin, his tongue wrapping around yours, swallowing your gasps as his other hand gathers your dress, the layers of delicate organza billowing over his knee. when your nails find his nape, careful not to mess up his perfectly styled do, you suck on his ear lobe, forcing him to thrust up into you.
“fuck-”
“shh!” you hiss, rushing to stuff the same panties you gifted him in his mouth. you hear his muffled groans, his cheeks hollowing as he sucks the essence of you onto his waiting tongue. he feels you clench harder around him, his eyes smiling in place of his occupied lips. he lifts a brow when your rocking falters, your eyes darting around his perfect face, incapable of taking in anything but him and how he makes you feel. there’s a question in his gaze, forcing your head to bob. “yeah- i’m close-”
he abandons your dress then, letting the material pool around you two as he presses his palm to your neck, bringing your mouth to his. it’s a quick and steep descent to your release, your thighs burning as he slams you up and down on his cock, your skin clapping against his as he abandons all reason. he’s kept it quiet for so long, at times he thinks it might consume him from the inside out, all this love he has for you. all jeno really wants is to scream it out from the highest mountain top, tattoo it to his forehead, paint it on the fucking moon. hell, he would pay anyone to listen. he didn’t care who. he’d tell anyone who’d listen that he, lee jeno, was in love with y/n y/l/n.
“i love you too,” you almost cry, jaw unhinged as you feel the effects of his thrusts and affection rip through you. it spreads through you like wildfire, setting every nerve in you alight before it finally consumes him. your heat pumps and pushes him past his release, his heavy load pouring out into you. you milk him through it, your temple pressed to the crown of his head.
it’s the church bells that rip you apart, your whole body cringing as realisation hits. you cringe further as his flushed face fills your vision, his hands gathering your dress again before further staining your panties as he wipes between your legs. “don’t look at me like that.”
“like what?”
“like it’s worse for you than it is for me.” you’re about to ask how when he moves away from you, closing his eyes as he wraps it up before shoving it back in his pocket. “i said don’t.”
“fine, i won’t-” your surrender is cut short when knuckles strike the door three times, jaemin’s sign to wrap it up. “shit, let’s go-” you try to leave but can’t. because suddenly he’s stopping you, his warm hand loosely wrapped around your wrist.
“let’s tell him.”
“tell who what-”
“mark.” jeno used to hate acknowledging the striking similarities between you and your step brother. much like the unwon battle of the chicken and the egg: which came first? which of you taught the other that when your eyes enlarge, rounding into porcelain saucers, two full moons nearly eclipsing him, that he’d give you anything?
“today?” when he nods, you want to laugh. but he looks so confident. so sure. “jen, are you sure?”
“i am,” his affirmation makes your heart swell, even before he continues. “i’m sure about you.”
he knows where your uncertainties lie. but you affirm it too. “i’m sure about you too.” you both seem to forget the wedding in that moment, both neglecting the importance of your bridal party roles in favour of basking in one another for even a second longer. “only if you save me a dance?”
“always.” so much so, you don’t register the sound of the confessional door swinging open when jeno leans in to kiss to your forehead, his bitten lips pressing to the skin as his eyes land on a pair not too dissimilar to the ones he’d just poured his heart out to.
mark seems to short circuit for a second that seems to last hours. “mom’s looking for you,” he announces, spluttering around the words as you immediately grab jeno by the hand and drag him out the confessional. you both duck your heads as you shuffle past jaemin, who looks beyond pissed you didn’t heed his earlier warning.
when you both disappear, your brother turns on jaemin, eyes wide as full moons. “you knew!” it only angers him more when jaemin nods, unflinching when mark starts slapping his arm. “he told you and you didn’t tell me?”
“nuh-uh,” the younger defends, straightening out the groom’s lapel as he reverently shuts the confessional door. “i figured it out.” mark looks bewildered at the notion it had been so obvious. jaemin has to remind himself it’s mark’s day and not to be too harsh. “come on, hyung. he wouldn’t tell us her name, wouldn’t let us meet her.” mark still looks stunned. “don’t get me started on how many times they pulled this shit last christmas-”
and to think. it all started with a dance.

Snow Day - Dad!Schlatt and Reader
GN
Pairings: none
Characters included: Schlatt, Tubbo, Quackity
Warnings: cursing
Series: It’s a small fun drabble
Summary: It snowed in Manberg! How can you not be excited for it! Tubbo and Y/N certainly are, dragging their father Schlatt out so they can play in the snow.
Word count: 2220
Author’s Note: Okay, obviously lorewise this doesn’t make much sense but I just wanted to have a nice little drabble about Dad!Schlatt playing with Y/N and Tubbo in the snow since I love snowy days. Also I’m kinda just writing drabbles right now to get through my writers block so if you have any ideas shoot em my way though I am a slow writer, sorry
„Dad! Dad! Wake up!“ Y/N came running into Schlatt’s bedroom, jumping straight onto his bed, landing on his legs.
Schlatt threw his eyes open and let out a pained cry. His child was young and not that heavy but it still felt like they just snapped his legs in two.
“God damn it, Y/N! What in the world are you doing? How early is it anyway?” he sighed as he pushed them off to the side so they wouldn’t destroy his bones anymore, wondering why they were awake so early. Taking a short look at his alarm clock he could see he still would’ve had about an hour of sleep before having to get up for work.
Their eyes were wide with excitement as they grabbed his blanket and begun pulling on it “Dad! It’s snowing! It’s snowing!” Jumping up and down in excitement on the side of his bed.
Now it made sense why Y/N woke him up.
A smirk appeared on his face. He closed his eyes again, pulled his blanket up and turned away from Y/N. Acting as if he fell asleep again.
“No!” Y/N cried out in horror. Throwing themself against Schlatt and grabbing onto his horns. Softly pulling on them. Not hard enough to hurt but just enough to annoy him.
He finally decided to sit up “Okay! You won! Let me get dressed and then we’ll see about going outside, okay? Also wake your brother up if he is still asleep. He’ll want to go out as well.”
Their frown immediately turned into a huge brimming smile “Yes!” He let out a deep breath, already knowing that this day would be a straining one. Actually he had some stuff to work on back in the White House but alas the first snow fell and these plans got obviously pushed back.
Maybe he needed that small break anyhow.
As he got up and got dressed in comfortable and warm clothing, opting out of his usual suit due to the snow, he heard some rumbling and laughing from outside his room. The two kids were excitedly yelling about the snow, making snowmen and igloos.
Once he got properly dressed he took a look outside his window only to see Manberg covered in a thick layer of snow. It looked peaceful and beautiful but dread was still building up in him. If the snow was that thick he will have to shovel some of the snow in front of his house away. To that he would have to make his way to the office through all of that.
It was very tempting to grab his communicator and shoot Quackity a message that today the two could take the day off, though as president of a small nation this isn’t a thing you could just nonchalantly do. So instead he grabbed his communicator and wrote Quackity a different message “Will come in a few hours later than usual today. You can take your time as well.”
He didn’t immediately receive an answer. Quackity was probably still asleep, which made sense. He didn’t have a child at home that woke up early and noticed the snow before anyone else in the house after all.
Schlatt opened up the door to his room only to see Tubbo skipping down the stairs, already dressed and full with energy. Of course he was happy to see both of his kids being excited but he was still lagging behind concerning his own energy.
“Hey, kiddos.” He yawned, stepping down the stairs himself, already seeing the two trying to wrangle themselves into their boots. “Before we go out let’s eat some breakfast first.”
“But dad!” Tubbo whined, still trying to push his foot into the shoe.
Schlatt shook his head “No buts. First breakfast and then we can go out and play.”
Both Tubbo and Y/N looked absolutely betrayed he would force them to eat first before being able to go out but they also knew there was no sense arguing with him about it, so they just begrudgingly let go of their boots and followed their father into the kitchen where he begun making some basic breakfast for the three of them.
Schlatt was taking his time drinking his coffee and eating his food, slowly waking up properly while Y/N and Tubbo couldn’t sit still on their chairs. Wharfing down their food and drink as fast as they could only to be annoyed at Schlatt’s slow eating. He would lie if he didn’t think it was a tiny bit amusing watching them as they struggled to patiently wait for him. Honestly it looked like they were sitting on hot coals.
“Come on! Eat faster!” Y/N drawled out angrily. Tubbo let out a frustrated sigh showing that he was just as annoyed as his little sibling.
Oh how easy Schlatt could prolong this by pouring himself another cup of coffee. He almost went for it but he didn’t want to torture his kids too much.
Rolling his eyes he gave them a small nod “Alright, alright. You guys get dressed up and I’ll follow you guys in a sec.”
Both let out relieved sighs and exclamations almost literally jumping off their chairs and running out to get their things.
That’s when Schlatt’s communicator rung. Seems like Quackity finally answered him.
“Gotcha Boss.”
While Schlatt didn’t necessarily wanted to make his children wait even longer he still took the time to get properly dressed up in his coat, gloves and scarf. He even got some ear muffs out for the two as well which the two didn’t appreciate. Schlatt used his authority as their dad though to make them wear the muffs.
Then it was finally time. Schlatt opened the door and the kids ran out right into the snow. Both laughing in glee as they threw themselves right into it. Schlatt wanted to chastise them for it since this would most likely end up with them catching a cold but he stopped himself. It has been a while since they could play in the snow so he wanted to let them enjoy themselves like that just for a little bit. Also he didn’t like how much he acted like a typical boring, worried dad.
While the two were yelling and throwing snow around Schlatt got his snow shovel out and begun freeing up the front door. He was a few minutes in as he felt something pull on his jacket. Turning around he saw Y/N trying to get his attention.
“Can you help us build a snowman?”
Y/N looked expectantly at their father. Cheecks and nose flushed from the cold. Snow was gathering on their head, especially on their small horns. The horns were still pretty small but since they were a bit rough the snow stuck to them very easily. Schlatt smiled and got rid of the snow on their head.
“Alright but only one. Then we have to make our way into the city.”
Their eyes begun to glisten “You are taking us with you to work?”
“Something like that, come on kiddo. Let’s get the snowman going.”
Together the three begun working on making a snowman together. Schlatt took care of the biggest snowball since he was obviously the strongest of he group. Tubbo took care of the middle part and Y/N rolled together the head for their master piece. Since they were also the fastest done they were allowed to look for things to decorate it later with.
As Tubbo helped Schlatt setting the snowman together Y/N reappeared with some twigs and stones in their hands.
“There you are, was wondering what took so long.” Tubbo smiled as he put more snow on the snowman to fill in some indents.
Y/N just stuck their tongue out and begun trying to stick some twigs at the side to make some makeshift arms for the snowman. Schlatt helped them a little bit to make sure it was really stuck in there before they continued to put on a crooked smile with small pebbles.
Once they were done the group gave the snowman a good look over. It was definitely not perfect but both Tubbo and Y/N had they biggest and proudest smiles on as they looked at it. Schlatt was smiling too, more happy about their happiness than their little snowman.
That’s when Schlatt had an idea. He took some of the more elastic twigs and put them on the head of the snowman, curling them around its head to make it look similar to the horns he had and pushing the ends back into the head so it would stay in that form. Well, to be fair Tubbo’s horns were well on their way to resemble his and while Y/N’s were still pretty small they already begun to show a similar curl.
Satisfied with his work he picked up Y/N who wrapped their arms around him for a short hug “Thanks Dad. It looks great.”
Tubbo nodded “Yeah! That does kinda look like dad though!”
Schlatt frowned “Hey! What is that supposed to mean!”
“How about we add two more later as well! One for me and one for Y/N!” Tubbo stated. Expertly ignoring his father’s outburst.
Y/N giggled “Yes! Let’s do it!”
“Later. I have to slowly get into the city so I can go work. I’ll take you guys with me this time. We’ll find something for you guys to do there, alright?”
The two agreed sure enough so the group made their way, albeit slowly due to the snow, into the heart of Manberg where the White House was waiting for them. Usually Schlatt would leave them at home. Tubbo was old enough to look over his younger sibling and the way into the city isn’t that long either way anyhow. They would hang around at home and do their shenanigans or just run to Manberg where they would hang out with the other residents.
Schlatt had problems expressing it but he was truly proud of his two gremlin kids. They were usually really patient and polite which was honestly pretty surprising seeing how he acted but somehow he managed to raise two polite and nice kids. Okay, they sometimes get into trouble but who could fault them that’s just what kids do.
Inside Manberg you could see a few residents shoveling snow away from the walkways and homes. Some seemed to be happy to see the snow while others were pretty annoyed. Schlatt would have been one of the latter group if his children weren’t so happy with all of this.
He has really gone soft hasn’t he?
“Alright. We are here now. You guys can come in with me and warm up a bit but you two can also go and play.” He rambled off as he set Y/N back down.
“Can we have some money so we can buy some food from Niki’s?” Tubbo asked.
Schlatt frowned, putting on an expression as if him getting out some money and handing it towards him was physically hurting him “You are killing me, Tubbo. You better not waste it.”
Tubbo just rolled his eyes and held his hand out for Y/N to take it so they could walk off together.
Schlatt put his hands on his sides, looking at the two walking off for a few seconds before he felt something hard hitting his back, resulting in him letting out a yelp in surprise. Both the kids turned around laughing at the weird sound their father made only to see Quackity standing behind him with a mischievous grin, already forming a new snowball in his hands.
“Oh you are so dead, motherfucker.” Schlatt grumbled only to make a snowball himself to throw it at the duck hybrid, hitting him square in the chest. Feeling a tiny bit vindicated by this Schlatt begun to cackle.
Y/N looked at Tubbo, not sure what to make of this, who in return just shrugged. When they looked back at their still cackling dad they saw how Quackity was pointing to the snowball in his hand and then at them. It took them a moment to understand what he meant but immediately crouched down to get better access to the snow once they understood. Tubbo followed suit.
This is how a full blown snowball fight started though it wasn’t much as a fight since Quackity, Tubbo and Y/N all concentrated on Schlatt. Throwing all they had against him. Schlatt had to hide behind an old stall that was still standing on the marketplace, only sometimes looking from behind it, throwing his own snowballs.
To think he was angry and trying his best to get this stall removed for the longest time now only for it to now save his life.
“Y/N! You are supposed to throw it at your dad! Not me!” Quackity suddenly yelled out.
Curious Schlatt took a look from behind the stall only to see how Y/N ran towards him to hide behind the stall as well while Quackity was trying his best to get rid off the snow that was on his beanie.
Schlatt was impressed. A headshot, huh.
Y/N was out of breath huddling down next to their father “I thought it was unfair. Three versus one didn’t seem right.”
Schlatt formed a new snowball, handing it to Y/N “That’s why you are my favorite” he joked “Now let’s start the counterattack.”

I was on stage and I was thinking of... I felt like I know him though I know his heart And I know what he wouldn't do to hurt me But I didn't realize that Feeling so confident, feeling so great about myself... And then it just be completely shattered by one thing By something so stupid But then you make me feel crazy baby Feel like it's my fault I was in pain…
The award in your one hand and your phone in your other hand. You were nervous, almost scared. You whole body was trembling, and your lips were about to bleed, you chewed on them without feeling any pain.
You looked on your phone, for the millionth time in the last three minutes and there was still no call and no text.
You felt like the dress you were wearing, the beautiful golden dress, was suffocating you. It was tight around your waist and with every passing second it got tighter.
You clutched your heart.
Are you dying?
You can’t breathe.
Is this it?
Your vision is blurry, tears filled your eyes.
“Y/n! Can you hear us? Hey, honey, are you alright? Look at me.” This was your manager, she tried to calm you down. You were going to die, there was no other way to stop the pain.
“Someone bring me a fucking bottle of water!” she yelled to the crew in your dressing room. “You did it, Y/n! Artist of the year award is in your hands! This was your dream!”
You looked at the award in your hand.
Artist of the year.
Did you deserve this? Of course you did. You worked day and night, non-stop without any breaks, this was your dream and you did everything you could to achieve this.
But did you really deserve this?
“You looked absolutely gorgeous on-stage Y/n! Honey, you moved everyone with your speech! It was beautiful, you’re trending first place worldwide on twitter!” she told you as she handed you the bottle of water. Your throat was dry, and you finished the whole bottle in one go.
“Thank you.” You said and then you turned your phone off. He wasn’t going to text you anyway.
The water helped you calm down and the crew and your manager cheered and popped a champagne bottle. Today was your day, and you had to push every painful thought away and just be happy for once.
After the award show you found yourself in your bed, but it was hard to fall asleep. You could see the sun rising and the clock on your wall told you that it was almost 6am. You were awake the whole night, alone in a cold bed without him keeping you warm.
The bedroom door was suddenly opened with him stumbling inside. The heavy smell of alcohol surrounded the whole room. When he saw you looking at him, he laughed. He walked towards the bed and almost tripped on his way.
“Oops.” He giggled to himself.
You starred at him, curious about his next move.
“I saw y-you on the tv. You looked so small.” He laughed again like a little boy. He took off his socks and then his shirt.
“Do you know why I was on the tv?” you asked him.
“I don’t know and I don’t care.” With that, he got under the blankets and turned his back to you.
Tonight was one of the most important nights of your life and Taeyong simply didn’t care.
The bed's getting cold and you're not here The future that we hold is so unclear But I'm not alive until you call And I'll bet the odds against it all Save your advice 'cause I won't hear You might be right but I don't care There's a million reasons why I should give you up But the heart wants what it wants The heart wants what it wants
Your history with Taeyong started when you were both around twelve years old. The typical childhood friends to lovers. You had your first kiss with him when you were fifteen, you officially started dating when you were sixteen and you had your first time when you were eighteen. Years later, with twenty-three, every memory, every special day with him wasn’t the same anymore.
You two always dreamed of becoming the greatest couple in the music industry. You promised each other to go through this together and love each other forever. Taeyong was more into rap and producing and you were more into writing lyrics and singing. For the first couple years everything was perfect, but it was also exhausting and tiring. The music industry was harder than you imagined and the day you signed a contract with a big company, without Taeyong, was the day your relationship started falling apart.
You didn’t want to sign the contract. It was always Taeyong and you or nothing. Taeyong felt bad and didn’t want that to happen, he couldn’t be selfish just because it took longer to achieve his own dream. Taeyong worked in your studio, you let him spend as much time as he wanted and he produced song after song but nobody wanted to sign him. Your company offered Taeyong a job as a producer to produce a couple songs for you and other artists, he accepted the offer and hoped that one day, he could produce something for himself.
Taeyong supported you at first. The day you released your first self-written single, he surprised you with a big party and a promise ring. A promise to be with you forever. When you released your first full album, your fanbase grew even faster and you album hit first place on almost every chart. You were twenty-three and you were a star.
Taeyong was distant after you released your first album. He never left the studio and produced day and night. Every time you tried to get close to him, he’d find an excuse to push you away. No company wanted him, and he was going crazy. You understood, you tried to keep your own stuff for yourself and never talked about your job, you didn’t want to hurt him more.
While you got more popular, Taeyong’s hate towards music grew and one day, he just stopped.
“There’s no need for me to keep doing this. I don’t want this anymore. I need money to pay for this apartment, I need money to buy food and-“ he rambled nervously.
“Taeyong, you know that money is no problem for us anymore. This was your dream, you can’t just give up-“
“Oh please, don’t start with that bullshit. I don’t want your fucking money! Keep it to yourself! Go buy yourself some diamonds or I don’t fucking know, a house or no, go buy yourself a plane!”
Taeyong hated it whenever you talked about money. He hated it that you gained more money than him and provided for you two. The thought of you now paying for the apartment drove him crazy.
“Taeyong, I don’t want you to stop trying. Just let me pay the rent, I love you I just want to help-“ You loved Taeyong so much and you knew how much music actually means to him.
“I don’t want your fucking help. You’re not paying the rent. End of discussion.” And like every other night, he left you alone and went to a bar.
You knew you shouldn’t, but you did it anyway.
You bought the apartment you were living in and didn’t say anything to Taeyong. For two months, he didn’t notice that the money he paid for the apartment was back on his bank account. You knew that he’d find out sooner or later, but you couldn’t sit back and watch him destroy himself anymore.
But one day, he noticed, and you thought it was really the end of your relationship. The future you always dreamed of was nowhere to be seen.
“Do you really think that low of me?! Do you really think I can’t even fucking pay rent?! Huh?! How could you do something like that behind my back!” he yelled at you.
“Taeyong, please. I did it for us. I don’t want you to worry about money, I can help-“
“No! No you fucking can’t help! I don’t want your fucking money! You think, now that you are fucking famous you can do whatever the fuck you want?! Is that how it works? Just because you sing like anyone else, you can do whatever you want? I don’t even get why people are listening to your fucking music! It sound like every other artist singing you’re not special, not unique! You don’t have any fucking talent but here we are, you get the contract and not me, someone with actual talent.”
Every word that left his mouth, felt like a knife piercing in your heart. You finally heard how he really felt about your success and it broke you apart. You never wanted it to go this far.
You sobbed, you felt numb and his gaze on you didn’t help. Maybe he was right. There was nothing special about you. He deserved to be in your position.
“I-I’m sorry-“ you blurred out, “D-do you want me to g-go?”
Taeyong’s gaze softened, you looked like you were about to fall apart, and he couldn’t catch you because it was his faut in first place.
Did he want to break up? Was it over now? Do you have to leave the love of your life now?
“N-No, I’ll leave.”
And you didn’t see him for next hours.
You did nothing except for crying while listening to your songs. He was right, there was nothing special about your voice. You were like anyone else. No talent, how did people even listen to you?
It was late, past 3 am.
You were still crying, and you thought that Taeyong left you- forever. You took off the promise ring and tried to fall asleep, but he entered the room, and you could feel his presence behind you.
Taeyong hugged you from behind and cried. His head fell in the crook of your neck and he cried with you in his arms, you were also crying.
“I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry.” He whimpered. “I didn’t mean anything I said. You’re perfect, the best of the best. I’m sorry, please don’t leave me. I love you.”
You turned to him. When he saw the tears on your face, he stroked them away and kissed your cheeks. “Please don’t cry- I’m sorry that I hurt you.”
You did the same with his tears and he noticed the missing ring on your finger. “W-Where is the ring?”
“I’m sorry, I took it off. I thought you’d leave m-me.” You told him and he cried harder. “No baby I’d never leave you. I’m sorry, please don’t take it off. I still mean it.”
You turned to your nightstand and put it back on.
“I’m sorry. I’m stupid and an idiot. T-This is just driving me crazy- Am I not good enough? What am I doing wrong?” he said, you could see in his eyes that he was in pain and it hurt you so much to see him like this.
“You are not doing anything wrong. You’re perfect, they are just blind and don’t see how great you are. They don’t know what real music is, Tae. You are so talented and please don’t stop trying.”
You put your head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat.
“A-Are you serious? O-Or are you just saying that to make me stop crying like a baby?” he pouted.
“I’m telling the truth. I’m not biased here. Well, I do love you but I’m really telling you the truth. You are the most talented person I know.”
“Thank you.” He kissed your head. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry for earlier- I hate myself for saying that to you.”
“It’s okay, I know that you didn’t mean it.”
“I love you so much, never leave me, okay?” he said softly.
“I love you too.”
You got me scattered in pieces Shining like stars and screaming Lighting me up like Venus But then you disappear and make me wait And every second's like torture Hell over trip, no more so Finding a way to let go Baby, baby, no I can't escape
It didn’t stay like that. Not even weeks later, you were back to the cold and distant Taeyong, he was still the same cold guy who hated your success with a burning passion.
Two weeks later, you were back at the studio, after you won the artist of the year award, in the studio working on some music with a hungover Taeyong. He still didn’t talk to you about the fact that you won the artist of the year award and you were not going to say anything about it.
You were distant. You tried to keep your thoughts to yourself and only talked whenever it was really needed.
“Try again.” He said for the fifth time.
Your throat hurt after last night and singing the same verse over and over again didn’t help.
“Taeyong can I take a break?” you asked.
“Mrs. Artist of the year wants to take a break? That’s not so professional of you. Artists don’t take breaks. They try and try until it’s perfect.”
First of all, you thought he didn’t know that you won artist of the year? And second, so he knew but he didn’t even show you a tiny bit of love. You won the biggest award of the year and your boyfriend hated you for that.
“But my throat hurts- I can’t hit the notes.”
“Drink some water.” He pointed at the water in the recording room.
And then you tried and tried to hit the note, but your voice gave up.
“Fine. That’s it for tonight. We won’t get any further with that voice of yours.” He said coldly.
When you left the little recording room, you gathered your things together but Taeyong didn’t move. “Aren’t we going home?” you asked.
“You can go, I’ll stay a little longer.”
And without saying anything or kissing him goodbye, you left.
The pain in your throat got worse and talking was difficult. You were talking to your manager about a potential tour, but after one sentence your voice broke. You stopped talking immediately, the pain only got worse whenever you tried to talk. “Here drink this tea. You should stop recording for a couple days, maybe even weeks.” You nodded, your voice was still there, but you didn’t want to risk losing it completely.
A couple days later, you talked to your boss about taking a break for a couple months, a short hiatus to calm your voice and throat and just write lyrics for your upcoming album. You decided to leave the city and rent a little beach house. Your manager was happy, you were happy but Taeyong, well, Taeyong just laughed at you.
“Taeyong, I just told you that I’m going to take a break and you’re just laughing?”
“Our little pop-star got enough of being the star? Why? Are they paying you too little?” he said mockingly.
“You know that this isn’t about money! I’m stressed, I’m not feeling good. My voice is always breaking, it even hurts to talk.”
“You can’t even handle that, can you? What kind of singer are you? Pathetic.”
You had enough. You really had enough.
“I’m the pathetic one? Look at yourself for once! You did this to me! I’m recording 24/7 and you don’t give me a single break! How is my voice supposed to handle that?! Tell me! You hate me so much, you weren’t even there for me when I won that stupid award! We talked so much about being there for each other in the past, but you threw everything away because of your jealousy! You weren’t there when I needed you the most even though I’m always there for you. You promised me b-but I’ve had enough… I can’t let you tear me down. I worked so hard, but It feels like a punishment to sing.” Once again, your voice broke.
“I want you to leave my apartment. I don’t want to see you or any of your stuff here. I’m done with you breaking my heart.”
Fortunately, your bags were already in the car, you thought maybe Taeyong would come with you, to relax and remind him of the love you once shared. But after what he had said, you just couldn’t stay with him anymore.
Taeyong looked at you, eyes wide open and lips trembling. Was he about to cry? Impossible. He must be happy that you’re finally leaving him.
“Y-You’re breaking up with me?” he asked slowly.
You took off the ring and placed it on the shelf next to you.
You turned around without saying anything and walked out of the door and when you finally closed the door of the car, you cried. Taeyong didn’t realize that you just left him. He was staring at the ring, he couldn’t move, he wanted to go after you, but his legs were numb.
After more than 10 Years, you left him. You had promised each other that you’d never leave each other but he also promised to be there for you.
This is a modern fairy tale No happy endings No wind in our sails But I can't imagine a life without Breathless moments Breaking me down, down, down, down
You lived at the beach for five months and you had no contact to anyone except your manager and a couple of producers you met. Your manager was always there for you after your breakup with Taeyong. You wrote so many songs in the past months, only love songs. Sad ballads about broken hearts.
You were scared to go back, scared of seeing him in the studio and scared that you actually weren’t ready to go back on stage, but after a long talk with your manager, you felt ready. Your five months hiatus helped you feel better about yourself and gain more confidence.
You woke up to the sounds of waves and you fell asleep to them. Your body relaxed and your throat didn’t hurt anymore. You felt good and you were ready to face the reality you were living in.
Your manager talked to some producers and that’s when you met Mark Lee. A young producer from Canada who was really talented, and you couldn’t wait to work with someone who wasn’t Taeyong. The car stopped in front of the building you tried to avoid for the last months. Your driver kindly opened your door and helped you get out.
“Thank you.” You said politely and entered the building with a nervous heart. Your manager told you that Taeyong was still working in the company, just for other artists and you hoped that you’d never cross paths.
You softly knocked on the door.
“You can come in!”
You opened the door and greeted Mark. It wasn’t your first time meeting him. He visited you at the beach house to talk about your new songs.
“My favorite singer is finally here in my office!” he said happily and hugged you softly. You hugged him back and sighed, “I don’t know If I’m ready.”
“Of course you are. We are going to produce some hits for you. I mean the songs you wrote are sad but like a good sad and everyone loves a good ballad.”
His studio was a little bigger than Taeyong’s and it was also warmer, the vibe was definitely better here. “Well we’ll see about that-“
“Yo Mark do you want to-“ suddenly someone entered the studio and when you turned around time stopped.
Taeyong looked, well, he looked like he always looked and that was perfect. His hair was a pretty shade of blue, he looked mesmerizing.
His eyes widened, his hand on the doorknob tightened and his body tensed. You weren’t doing any better. Your grip on your bag also tightened and your heart clenched.
Mark did know a little bit about your history with Taeyong, and the tension right now was crazy.
“H-Hi.” Taeyong said nervously.
“Hey.” You just said back, trying to avoid his gaze.
“You’re back.”
You nodded, not knowing what to say.
“So, Mark is a new producer here-“
“Yeah I know. I’m going to work with him.” You simply said.
“Oh, t-that’s good. I mean he’s good. Mark is really good.” He mumbled. Taeyong tried to meet your eyes, your beautiful pretty eyes he had missed so much, but you looked down to your feet.
“Uhm, Taeyong, I guess I’ll talk to you later?” Mark tried to save you from this awkward situation.
“Yeah sure.” He slowly left the room and you thought you’d die any second.
“That was so awkward.” Mark said and wiped the sweat from his forehead, “I can’t handle awkward situations, shit I thought we were all going to cry any minute.”
“Let’s start, I need to distract myself.”
Taeyong held his heart tightly when he entered his own studio. He wanted to ask Mark to order some food, but seeing you there after months, looking beautiful as ever.
Taeyong missed you and he was more than happy that you were back, even though you weren’t a couple anymore. You looked healthier and happier and he hated himself whenever he thought about the past. He was an asshole to you, you never deserved his stupid attitude. Losing you was his own fault and he had to leave you alone.
But Taeyong is selfish.
The past two months, you recorded and recorded. You new album was done, and you were able to perform on stage after a long time again. You were extremely nervous, but it also felt like a relief to perform the heart wants what it wants with a big audience.
Each song on your album had a deep meaning. After getting your heart shattered into many pieces, you wrote sad but beautiful lyrics. Everyone goes through heartbreak which is why so many people could relate to your songs.
“Are you ready honey?” you manager asked you.
“I hope I don’t cry.” You tried to joke but everyone knew you were actually serious. “It’s okay to cry. Just go on stage and let it all out.”
You hugged her and even Mark was there to cheer on you. “You’ll do amazing. The songs are amazing and you’re going to deliver them perfectly. Don’t worry.” Mark said as he hugged you tightly.
It felt like a déjà vu. You were in the waiting room almost a year later after you won the Artist of the year award, this time before you performed, and you still hoped to get a text from a certain someone. Did Taeyong even knew that you were going to perform tonight?
You breathed in and out and when you were on stage you poured your heart out.
When the performance ended, you didn’t cry. You almost did, but in the end you didn’t. The genuine smile on your face showed the relief you felt and that you finally reached happiness after years of looking for it.
You left the stage and adrenalin was pumping through your veins. A big smile was on your lips and when you entered your waiting room to celebrate with your crew, there was no one inside except for one person.
“Taeyong?” you asked, not sure If you were imagining him.
“Hey,” he looked you up and down, “You look gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful.”
You were shocked. Is it really him? “W-What are you doing here?”
“I watched your performance. Front row. I wanted to be in the crowd and watch you perform. It was phenomenal. You were breathtaking.”
He stepped closer, “W-Was the song about me?” he whispered.
You nodded, tears were about to fall down your cheeks.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry that I hurt you. I was a blind little boy, I was so obsessed with the idea of me and the music industry that I forgot about you and your feelings and I can’t tell you how much I hate myself for that. You were always my number one priority, b-but then… all I could see was red and I let my anger and frustration out on you. I love you more than anything and instead of loving you I tried to hurt you and I thought it would make me feel better about myself, but it didn’t, and I realized that when it was too late. You left me and I was absolutely devastated. I couldn’t imagine my life without, and I still can’t. You were always a part of me, and I don’t want to lose the most important part of my life. No one and nothing on this planet is more important to me than you are. You are my world and when you left, my world stopped spinning and I didn’t know what to do. The first time I saw you after our breakup I-I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe that you were real and that I lost someone as beautiful and kind as you. I don’t need to be an artist. I don’t need fans- I just need you. My number one fan and supporter.”
You were bawling your eyes out and you couldn’t stop yourself from crying harder and harder.
Taeyong was also always a part of you. Everything you achieved was thanks to him. He was the one who taught you how to play the guitar and the piano. Taeyong helped you find your voice when you were younger, and you found your passion for music and singing all thanks to him.
You went through so much, and you never stopped loving him. You loved him on every single day since the first time you met him until now.
He came to support you. He watched your performance and it felt so good to see him here. Your heart was beating against your chest and you couldn’t talk, you were scared that your voice might break, but it didn’t matter. You didn’t need to.
One step, two steps and you were standing right in front of him.
Taeyong’s face was completely wet from his tears and his big doe eyes trembled, tears still rolling down his pretty face.
You cupped his cheeks and pulled him closer to press your lips on his.
You couldn’t remember the last time you had kissed him or touched him. His lips were perfectly on yours, slowly kissing you with so much longing and passion.
He dropped the bouquet of roses in his hands and pulled you even closer. His hands were on your waist, holding you tightly. He was scared that you’d slip away or that he’d break you. He kissed you tenderly, you were so fragile in his hands he was scared to break you with a simple touch.
The two of you pulled away slowly, he never let go of you though. You hid your face in the crook of his neck and sobbed silently.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” He whispered to you and hugged you as tightly as he could. He would never let go of you again.
“I love you so much Taeyong. I always loved you so much and I don’t think I can love anyone as much as I love you. I also need you in my life- the months without you- I just wanted to go back to the days we were happy. I miss those days so much Taeyong. I love my job, but I love you more.”
“I love you so much. I love you. More than anything else. I promise you I’ll give you everything you deserve and so much more. Okay baby? Just like back in the days. You and me against the world.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
After everything you’ve been through, you couldn’t let go of him. No matter how many times your cried yourself to sleep, in the end, the heart wants what it wants and yours wanted Taeyong.
The heart wants what it wants, baby It wants what it wants, baby It wants what it wants It wants what it wants
The heart wants what it wants, baby It wants what it wants

Must Have Been The Wind [A.B.]
A/N: Soooo my requests are closed but I still get some and an anon sent me a good one that stuck in my brain and I ended up actually writing it anyway lol. I’ll link the post here once I’m not too tired to look for it again. Anyway, this is based off a song by Alec Benjamin, enjoy.
Word count: 2755
Warnings: Abusive boyfriend
.
“What the hell?” Anthony mumbled to himself and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes.
The loud noise that had woken him up echoed through the building again. It was glass shattering. Whatever was going on, it was happening in the apartment above his. The digital clock on his bedside table shone dark red numbers that read 3:05, and he groaned as he pushed the covers off his body and sat up.
At first, Anthony thought someone might have dropped glasses or plates, but the sound was much louder. It wasn’t an object being dropped, it was something being thrown. Knowing he wouldn’t get back to sleep immediately, Anthony got up and yawned on his way to the kitchen. A dim light was still on, he had forgotten to turn it off before going to bed, but now he was thankful he could see the layout of his unfamiliar apartment.
He was renting the place even though he had just bought a brand new apartment that was at least twice as big. The day he sold his old place, a water leak and gas problem arose in his new building. For a moment, Anthony had thought he was cursed, but with some help he managed to find this place to rent and he didn’t even have to spend a night in a hotel.
It was a temporary solution, so he was okay with having only two bedrooms and a rather small kitchen. It wasn’t like he’d have his family coming over any time soon. Maybe the neighbours were a little crazy breaking stuff at ungodly hours, but with a glass of water and ear plugs Anthony would get right back to sleep.
He stopped dead in his tracks when the sound of glass shattering was replaced by a cry. His glass got abandoned on the kitchen counter while he tiptoed to his front door, trying to catch any other noise.
The voices turned clearer as the yelling grew louder, it wasn’t enough for Anthony to understand what they were saying, but he could tell there was a girl crying while arguing with a man. There was no way he could go back to bed now. What was he supposed to do?
Should he try to go up there? Was calling the police a better idea?
His dilemma ended when a door slammed upstairs. Quickly, Anthony glued his eye to the peephole to see anyone that might walk past his door. This cursed building didn’t have an elevator, so if someone was leaving he’d see them. The light in the corridor was off, but with the moon shining bright outside it wasn’t completely dark.
As the stomping of feet got closer he caught the silhouette of a man heading out. A minute later, the sound had faded and the entrance door had slammed shut with the noise Anthony was getting accustomed to.
He stepped back and grabbed a hoodie from his bedroom, pulling it over his head to hide his bare chest. Dressed in a little more than just sweatpants, he hurried to find shoes, grabbed his keys, and slipped out of his apartment.
When he got to the second floor the faint sound of a girl crying directed him to the right door. He lifted his hand to knock but hesitated for a second. What if he got the wrong place and bothered someone at three in the morning?
Deciding that someone’s safety was more important than getting in trouble with his neighbours, Anthony quickly shook his head and gave the door a couple of loud knocks. He heard shuffling on the other side, followed by footsteps, and eventually a slight creak.
“Can I help you?” The girl opened the door just a crack.
She had a sweater zipped up all the way to her chin, and her eyes were a little swollen, but in the darkness it was hard to tell she was crying for sure. Her voice seemed steady enough as far as Anthony could tell from that short sentence.
“Hi, sorry, um I know it’s super late,” he shuffled from one foot to the other nervously. If only he had thought about what to say before knocking. “I’m Anthony, I live right downstairs, I just heard some noise and stuff… I wanted to make sure everything’s okay?”
“Uh, yeah? I didn’t hear a thing, sorry,” the girl pulled the sleeves of her sweater down to cover her hands.
“Could have sworn it came from up here,” he played dumb to insist a little more, but she was quick to shut him down.
“Must have been the wind or something,” she shrugged. “Thanks, I guess, but uh, I should go,”
“Right, yeah, sorry I bothered you,” he murmured and stepped back before she quietly closed the door.
Anthony didn’t get a minute of sleep that night. Mat chirped him for his slow reactions when he practiced in the morning, but he had bigger things to worry about. Was that girl really okay? Or did she just tell him lies so that he wouldn’t intrude?
None of it sat right with him, but he was limited in his options, so he promised himself he’d keep an eye out for her as much as he could.
.
A week passed before anything happened again.
Anthony was on his way home from a game, still dressed in his game day suit and ready to crash into his bed. Even the adrenalin of the win couldn’t keep him up for much longer. He was half asleep as he walked up to the building, his keys out to get through the main entrance. Now that he had cooled off, his legs ached and he almost groaned at the thought of the stairs.
“Two more weeks,” he muttered to himself.
He was about to continue complaining out loud to himself when he spotted her. If he had paid attention he would have noticed the couple arguing way earlier. The man had a tight grip on her forearm, and he didn’t even notice the way her eyes flickered over to Anthony as he continued speaking.
“I told you not to fucking-”
“Everything okay?” Anthony spoke up loudly enough to startle the man.
“Mind your fucking business.” He turned around, but the hockey player was taller and obviously stronger, so he didn’t even look at him.
Instead, he stared at his upstairs neighbour and waited for her to answer.
“Fine,” she rubbed her forearm, soothing the red skin. He nodded in response but didn’t make a move, his bag still hanging over his shoulder.
“We’re not done.” The other man grumbled when he saw Anthony had no intention of walking up to his apartment until they moved too.
He stomped out, the noise matching what had resonated in the corridor the first night Anthony heard them fight.
“So, am I at least going to get your name?” He walked towards the stairs with her, letting her walk up first.
“Carrie,” she told him, taking the stairs two at a time. Anthony cursed in his head as he kept up with her, his legs burning from all the skating and a nasty fall.
“Well Carrie, if you ever need anything, I live right here, okay?” He motioned towards his door and she nodded.
“Thanks,” she glanced down at the floor as she said it, not even waiting for his reply before dashing for the stairs and heading back to her own place.
.
The next morning was nice for Anthony. The weather was beautiful, he didn’t have practice, and all he had to do was go for a walk and get himself a nice coffee to enjoy his day off. The park near his building was a little crowded, it was a Saturday after all, families walked with kids running back and forth, people walked their dogs, others jogged.
The little kiosk at one of the intersections didn’t look like much, but Anthony had found out the day he had to move here that their coffee was some of the best in the city.
Carrie seemed to know that too, because he spotted her a few feet away on one of the benches. She was alone, taking in the way the sun shone through branches and onto the grass.
“Can I sit?” Anthony asked, and she looked up at him.
“Sure,” She slid over to make space on the bench.
“I don’t mean to overstep,” he began while racking his brain for the right thing to say. “And I don’t need to know whatever it was that happened when I heard that noise, or what was going on last night, but if you ever need absolutely anything, my door’s always open for you.”
“It’s fine I swear, he’s not as bad as it seems,” Carrie dismissed him and he scoffed.
“Well not as bad doesn’t mean ‘not bad’ so even if you just need a friend or whatever, I’m around,” he reiterated to make sure she wouldn’t hesitate if she was ever ready to ask for help.
“Thanks, Anthony,” she felt the corner of her lips itch to curl up while he leaned back.
“Not running away today?” He took in the people moving in front of them, resting his paper cup on his thigh.
“Not today,” Carrie smiled and took another sip of her coffee.
.
Only one more week before Anthony could move out.
Some of his things were still packed, a few boxes were stored in his garage in his new building, others were stacked in his spare bedroom and the rest would have to be repacked this weekend for him to finally vacate this apartment. He was excited to settle into his new place, he was somehow enjoying the whole decorating thing.
The only thing that bothered him was leaving Carrie. What was he supposed to do, leave her there and never come back? He couldn’t just turn his back with what he knew. She was the only thing on his mind day and night. Anthony couldn’t remember his dreams in the morning, but he was often convinced they had been about her.
The one thing that definitely wasn’t a dream was the loud knock on his door that night. 4:32am. It had to be Carrie.
Anthony jumped to his feet with a groan and rushed out of his bedroom. “Fuck,” he cursed as he slammed his shoulder into the door frame, not slowing down for a second until he reached the front door.
He threw it open and Carrie stumbled in, shaking and sniffling. Her arms were wrapped around herself and she hurried to make sure the door was closed.
“What happened?” Anthony’s eyes widened when he took in her panicked state. She barely looked up at him and cried harder, so he realised now wasn’t the time for questions. “Hey, hey come here,” he pulled her closer and wrapped his arms around her. “You’re safe, it’s okay, you’re safe here.”
Carried leaned against his chest, biting her lip and shaking with quiet sobs. Her whole body was trembling, Anthony was the only reason she was standing, so he slowly walked over to the couch with her in his arms and sat down. He had managed to hit a light switch on his way to make a warm light illuminate the living room.
“Sorry, it’s so late,” she eventually whispered, but he pulled away and shook his head.
“Don’t apo-” Anthony started but cut himself off when he got a good look at her face. “What happened?” His tone was nowhere near soft this time, his jaw was clenched and he was ready to run up the stairs to break her boyfriend’s face.
A purple bruise was blooming on her cheekbone, and the skin had split so a little bit of blood seeped out of the wound.
“I-” Carrie tried to talk, but another sob shook her chest and she looked down instead, hiding herself.
“Carrie…” he reached out for her hands. “Did he do this?”
“Yes,” her answer was barely above a murmur, and he took a deep breath to calm down.
“Let me take a look,” he cupped the uninjured side of her face and guided her to tilt her head until the light hit the forming bruise on her cheekbone. “I’ll find something to put on that, okay?” Anthony dropped his hands and she avoided his eyes.
He found everything he’d need in his bathroom pretty easily. He was used to being injured, so he came back to the living room with a cream for the bruise and an ice pack.
“Tell me if it hurts too much,” He said as he sat next to her and pushed a little bit of the product out on the tip of his fingers.
Careful not to press too hard, Anthony rubbed it over the bruise and made sure it was mostly absorbed before holding the ice pack to her face. It wouldn’t really ease the pain but it would at least reduce the swelling.
“I got it,” Carrie took it from him to keep it to her cheek.
“Okay, you need anything else?” He let her gather her knees up to her chest, resisting the urge to pull her into a hug again. He wished he knew how to comfort her, but she clearly needed her space.
“I’m okay, thank you,” she shook her head no and focused on slowing her breathing. It was hard with the mess in her head after everything that happened. She felt weak and pathetic, she had never been so vulnerable in front of someone, and maybe it was time she opened up but she couldn’t bring herself to say anything more.
“Is he still upstairs?” Anthony probed, trying to figure out what to do, at least for the immediate future.
“Probably,” Carrie shrugged, wiping tears out of her eyes.
“You can stay the night, I’ve got a spare bedroom.” He offered, written worry all over his face when she glanced up at him.
“I don’t want to be a burden to you,” she turned him down, but he wouldn’t let her leave when she wouldn’t be safe.
“Stop that,” he nudged her foot gently. “I’m not going to let you go back up there, just stay. Do you want tea? Chamomile is good for sleep,”
“Um, yeah, please,” Carrie gave in with a sigh. There was no point in fighting him, and deep down she knew he was right. Now that she had woken him she couldn’t leave and just let him worry.
“Be right back,” He put a hand on her knee as he got up and went to boil some water.
When he came back with both steaming mugs, Carrie had helped herself to the tissues on his coffee table to dry her tears and it looked like she had calmed down a little.
“Careful it’s really hot,” Anthony set the mug down in front of her.
“Thank you.”
They sat in silence after that. Anthony was done pushing, she was next to him and he was keeping her safe, he didn’t need more than that. The night had been traumatic enough for Carrie, so he didn’t want to add to it.
Small sips of burning liquid eventually turned to larger gulps of warm tea until both mugs sat empty on the table. Carrie had stopped shaking, and the heat of her drink had helped her warm up. The ice pack was mostly melted against her cheek now, but it was still cool and her cheek was burning underneath it.
“Wanna go to bed?” Anthony eventually whispered, pulling her out of her thoughts. She stopped staring at the black screen of the TV to turn to him, nodding slightly.
The bed in the guest room was made, and the sheets still smelled like fresh laundry. Anthony looked into the mostly empty closet for a few things, and while Carrie slid under the covers he brought an extra blanket to lay on top of it.
She settled quietly, curled for extra warmth while the melted ice pack sat on the nightstand. Anthony took it as his cue to leave, but he stopped once he reached the door.
“Carrie?” He turned to look at her, a hand on the door knob.
“Yeah?” She wondered what else he was going to say, and her heart warmed when she heard his words spoken with unwavering certainty.
“I don’t care what I have to do, but I’m not going to let that happen again.”

Niú Mówáng R. Boy and Qi Xiaotian
Summary: Writer Red's summer of peace is broken one morning when his new neighbor moves in.
AO3
-_-
A loud crash was what Red woke up to.
He sat up, rubbing his eyes, still not quite awake and very confused. Loud yelling and the beep of a moving truck was what made him wake up enough to growl and pull a pillow over his head.
The plan had been peace and quiet. His therapist had encouraged this summer of serenity to give him time off from writing and time to think over who he wanted to be without his parents’ expectations. He had thought the country would be nice and peaceful.
Except he was wrong.
Another blaring honk broke the silence and Red growled, glancing over at the clock. It was six, way too early to deal with this. He dropped the pillow and grabbed his slippers and bathrobe. He stalked to the door, throwing it open.
“-wake up the entire neighborhood! Just-just leave it by the curb!”
The sun wasn’t even up yet and all he could see was a thick blanket of fog. The streetlight managed to break it a bit. As well as the headlights of the moving truck. He slammed the door shut and stalked towards it. Whoever was making that noise was going to get an earful.
Before he could do that, something rammed into him. There was a yelp from him and whomever, as well as the sound of things falling into the gravel at his feet. “Sorry!” Red turned at the voice, clearly the person yelling.
And blinked.
The first thing he noticed about the noise complaint was the bright orange jacket that contrasted vibrantly against the fog. Then they looked up, revealing a pretty young man, a red headband pushing back dark hair. His mouth was pressed in a firm line and dark eyes were annoyed. “Sorry,” he repeated before turning back to the ground. He was holding a box that was full of books and art supplies, several books and a drawing tablet on the ground.
“I didn’t mean to bump into you,” the man explained, grabbing the books and stacking them in. “This fog is really thick and- this isn’t even my yard. Sorry about the noise!”
Red found himself kneeling, helping him stack the books in. “It’s no issue,” he said, his anger extinguished and mouth dry at the sight of the handsome man. He grabbed the tablet and the last book and stood, watching as the man stood. Something about the book caught his eye.
Stars of the West.
Hey, he had written this! It was his very first novel, a sci-fi version of the Journey to the West and the stepping stone to the literary power he had today. Nowadays, he was more known for business articles or his research into how much influence the economy had in politics. He ran his thumb over name indented into the glossy cover: Niú Mówáng R. Boy. He hadn’t been able to help it. Red Boy had been his favorite character in the Journey to the West.
He hadn’t seen it in years.
“Have you read it?” The man said, having noticed his gaze. “You can borrow if you haven’t.”
“I’ve read it.” Red said. He should’ve told him it was him that had written it. He had done it to several people before and he had always enjoyed the reactions. But he stayed his tongue. “One of his older ones, right?” Maybe he could hear an honest critique.
“Yep!” The man took the book and tablet and managed to stack them in the box. Steadying it on his knee, he managed to get a grip with both hands on the box. “Nice to meet you!” And just like that, he was walking past him and to the house next door. Red managed a wave.
So, that was his new neighbor.
He stood there in the fog and his pajamas, feeling the latter getting damp from the former. The thought rolled through and he looked around. It seemed like the driver wasn’t interested in helping, so…
He sighed and turned back to his house.
Once he was inside, he headed up to his bedroom. He got dressed, ignoring his stomach’s desire for breakfast, finding himself choosing casual but flattering clothes. He headed back out and to the moving truck, finding his neighbor was at the back, grabbing another box and nearly falling out of the truck.
“Do you need help, Noodle Boy?” The nickname came in a flash, stemming from the white shirt he wore that read Pigsy’s Noodles. He resisted the warmth that wanted to rise up when he squeaked, eyes tracing his arms.
“Uh, yeah! That would be great.” He passed him the box, turning back to the truck to grab another. “I’m MK, by the way.”
“Red.” he said simply.
The two worked together to bring in boxes. Much to his pride, Red noticed a few more of his novels, but he held off on asking. Soon enough, the last thing was the couch. Together, the two managed to heft it up and lug it to the door.
Then a problem presented itself.
The door was too small.
“Maybe if we turn it sideways…” MK eyed him, sweat making his hair stick to his face. Sweat started to form, but it was more due to the low boiling heat coursing through Red than any of the work. It was a bit before he realized the other was speaking. “- a shot.”
Then he was distracted by moving the couch.
“Turn it a little to the left- My left!”
“Yeah, that’s right!”
“No, my left!”
“That’s my right!”
After a few minutes of arguing and shoving, the couch popped through the doorway. The two managed to set it in place and Red collapsed on it, sighing with relief. He heard MK moving around, but he didn’t open his eyes, not even when the door closed and he could hear the moving truck move away.
Then something warm rested on him. He opened his eyes and bit back a yelp when he saw MK leaning against him. His new neighbor seemed to not notice, busy typing. “So, it’s a bit late for breakfast,” he said, looking up with a smile that made Red’s heart flutter. He was cute. And charming. And read his books. It was hard not to like him. “But can I treat you to brunch?”
“Absolutely.”
After that, MK hopped off the couch and set to work opening boxes. Red followed, placing things where they were supposed to go. Another novel of his caught his eye. The Blueprints of the Star Chaser was another sci-fi, this one a short story and reminding him. “So...what do you think of Niú Mówáng R. Boy?”
There was a chuckle. “I like his older stuff.”
He blinked, caught off-guard. Most people he had spoken to preferred his more current stuff. (The fact that most people were his parents was something he ignored.) “Really? Don’t you think it’s kinda… childish?”
“Yeah, they’re amateur, but that’s what I like. He clearly enjoyed what he was writing back then. Nowadays it’s either articles or political dramas. I can understand why people like his more polished stuff, but at least it didn’t read like every word was a rotten tooth being dragged out by a dentist.”
That was… graphic. But his parents had told him that he needed to get serious to be respected, and his sci-fi novels and different analyzes of the Journey to the West weren’t serious. Before he could spiral into these thoughts, MK’s voice broke his thoughts. “What about you? What do you like?”
“Qi Xiaotian.” It was immediate. The name brought up the memory of beautiful art. “His comic version of the Journey to the West , to be specific.”
“Really?”
Red shrugged, unable to resist his smile. “I love his artwork. It’s so colorful and… wow. You can really feel his passion on every page. And that doesn’t describe his blog posts and short stories! I mean, on some of his analysis I don’t agree with. But the amount of research shows.” When he looked up, MK was flushed, a pleased smile on his face. Before he could continue or ask, there was a knock on the door.
They both hopped to their feet and scrambled to their feet, eager for food. When Red opened the door the delivery boy yelped. “Ah! Mr. Niú Mówáng! Are you- I mean, I have an order for a Qi Xiaotian?”
Red froze.
“That’s me!” MK said, reaching forward with cash in his hand. “I’m paying for all of it.” Soon enough, money and canvas bag full of food had exchanged hands and he was shutting the door. Now alone, the two blinked at each other.
“So…” MK said, breaking the silence, tapping his fingers together. “Can we forget the part where I compared your writing to rotten teeth?” Red burst into laughter and he smiled, moving past Red to the kitchen. “But, seriously, I’m sorry for whining about you not writing sci-fi anymore.”
Red chuckled, leaning over to grab the set of paper plates and plastic utensils Mk had set. “Well, I’ll forgive you, Noodle Boy, if you tell me what you’re working on now if you forgive me for my dislike of your analyzes.”
“Deal.”
Yeah, this was gonna be great.

SERIES MATSTERLIST
They enjoy their glass of wine in silence before her stomach starts to growl. It growls the loudest she’s ever heard. Maybe it’s because she hasn't had anything to eat since this morning, and her stomach rebels against the wine as it’s the only thing in there. She should have known better.
Dean must have heard it because he starts to chuckle, “What toppings do you like? I thought we could share one.”
“Sure, but don’t judge, please?” She says as she stands up, sees Dean’s eyes on her and feels the urge to cover up. He gets up from his chair and takes the towel she brought out with her, holds it up for her to cover herself.
When he looks at her again, he has one eyebrow cocked, “Why should I judge?”
“Uh, because I quite like pineapples on pizza,”
“I don’t judge,” Dean scoffs, and adds, “But I really think that should be illegal,” He laughs, but he doesn’t say anything more, and goes in to order their pizza.
Y/N slips in while he’s on the phone and goes straight to her room, and changes into something comfortable. Now that she’s seen that he wears sweats, she’s happy to match him. It’s actually pretty weird seeing Dean like this because the only clothes she ever saw him in are suits, it makes her think that he even sleeps in them. She wonders if he has other clothes at all.
When the pizza arrives, Dean moves the glasses and bottle into the living room and asks her what movie she wants to watch, but she really doesn’t mind so she lets him choose. Dean zaps through Netflix and settles on Bird Box.
While the movie starts, he hands her some napkins, and she’s wondering if that’s enough, because she’d hate to ruin the nice couch. He must have sensed her hesitation because he’s smirking, “It’s okay, you don’t wanna know what I managed to spill on this couch already,”
“Ewww,” She mocks, cringes her nose and he snorts out a laugh.
It’s easy, she thinks. It’s easy to let herself go. It’s easy to be here with him and just talk about anything outside of work. She comes to the conclusion that Dean’s not such an asshole after all. In fact, he’s a real gentleman. And that’s not really good, is it? It makes her feel things she shouldn’t feel.
She shakes the thought out of her head and takes a slice of pizza out of the box. It’s then that she realizes that the whole pizza is riddled with pineapples. She frowns, “I thought you didn’t like pineapples on pizza?”
“I don’t,” Dean shrugs, takes a bite and pretends to wrinkle his nose before he grins with his mouth full and continues to eat.
Y/N doesn’t think she makes it far into the movie because her eyelids are getting heavy halfway through. It’s the most illogical, most boring thing she’s ever seen, but she didn’t want to hurt his feelings so she tries to watch it.
Last thing she remembers, though, is that she’s half leaning against Dean before she fell asleep.
***
Y/N wakes up in a bed. It’s clearly not hers. It took her an embarrassingly long time to realize that she’s in Dean’s apartment and that she’s in her bedroom.
Oh no, she remembers eating pizza with Dean, remembers falling asleep to the stupid movie. He must have carried her to her bed.
Her own fucking boss had to carry her to bed! If that’s not embarrassing she doesn’t know what is.
She scans the room and her eyes settle on the clock on her nightstand. It’s already past 8am. She slept like a baby through her alarm but in her defense, the bed is so fucking comfortable, more comfortable than her own, and it’s only a fucking guest room. She wonders how comfortable Dean’s bed must be. How he can even wake up and get out of it every morning astounds her.
And then, the thought of being late for work crosses her mind before she realizes that she doesn’t have to go in. Realizes that she didn’t sleep through her alarm because she didn’t set one in the first place.
Grabbing her phone, she sees that there’s a text from Ruby.
R: How was your first night? Did you consummate your fake marriage? *wink wink*
Then a text ten minutes later.
R: Oh my god, it should have been a joke but you did, didn’t you? He’s in a remarkably good mood. Didn’t bitch about the coffee I brought him at all!
Ah, Dean’s already at work then. He’s usually there before she turns up, and now she knows why. It’s only about a ten minutes walk from his apartment.
Y/N: Relax, nothing happened.
R: Ah, there she is.
Y/N: I slept in. The bed is so comfortable!
R: His bed I’d hope!
She snorts out a laugh.
Y/N: No, I have my own room that’s bigger than my apartment.
R: Ugh, maybe I can come see you? Wanna see how the most not eligible bachelor lives. Or send me pics! Oh shit, he called out for me. I need to go. But I swear, whatever you’ve done to him. Do it again! I like to work for him when he’s not constantly yelling at people.
She chuckles at that. She doesn’t answer Ruby though, instead she sends a text to Jack, telling him that she’s got another job that would secure him his degree and that everything’s okay.
Climbing out of bed, she decides to get coffee. It’s weird not having to go to work and she kind of misses it a little.
Y/N walks out into the kitchen where there’s still a faint smell of his cologne and coffee in the air. A deadly combination for her brain apparently, because it makes her insides tingle in all the right places. She looks around and immediately spots a yellow sticky note left on the machine.
It’s Dean’s handwriting. She knows it from all the scribblings he leaves on her desk when he already shut off his laptop and thinks about something that she must do for him the next day.
The machine is easy to handle. On, off. That’s it. I’m sorry I made you watch that movie. If you want to know, it didn’t get better after you fell asleep. Two hours of our lives, wasted. I’ll see you tonight, maybe we can watch something else — D
She’s smirking. He really took his time this morning to write her a fucking novel. It really baffles her that he goes out of his way for her and it really seems like he genuinely cares to make her stay with him as comfortable as he can. Well, it does benefit him too, come to think of it.
*
After another round on the massage comforter, she walks into her room to find a message from Jack.
J: I hope you don’t sell yourself for my benefit. But I trust you. Miss you x
She has to smirk and immediately types an answer back.
Y/N: Just stay in college and make me proud, alright?
Just when she’s about to put her phone away, it lights up with a call.
Dean.
“Hello?” She says, wondering if she should add sir to it at first but decides to drop it.
“Hey, you slept alright?”
She smiles, “Yeah, thanks. It’s the most comfortable bed.” She bites on her tongue so as to not ask him about him carrying her back to said bed.
There’s a light chuckle on the other end, “Good. Listen, I went over my schedule today because Ruby didn’t do it for me, and saw that I can’t have a movie night this evening like I wrote on the note,” He pauses to think, “You found the note, right?”
“Yeah, I did.”
“So, you maybe did know this because you arranged the invitation and you put it into my calendar, but I didn’t until about twenty minutes ago,”
She thinks hard about his schedule, remembers that there was something. An event. Some kind of gala.
“But instead of watching a movie, what would you say to me taking you out?” He says, “I called them and managed to do a last minute adjustment to my invitation.”
“Oh,” She huffs out, knowing where Dean wants to go with that.
“Thought it’d be a good opportunity to show them my wife. Are you in?”
He still asks, even if he actually doesn’t have to? Because yeah, she obviously can’t be a fake wife in private. The world needs to see it. Amara needs to see it.
“I guess,” She mutters. She is actually not really sure if she can pull that off. Her heart beats faster just thinking about walking on a red carpet.
“Y/N, you don’t have to, you know,” It’s as if he senses her dread, “I don’t want to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, but we should at least try to look like a happily married couple and we can’t pretend if you don’t want to.”
“No— I mean, it’s okay, I’ll do it,” Her voice is more firm this time. She wants to. Wants to show him that she can do it.
It shouldn’t be hard, right? She’s been with a man before. She knows all that hand holding stuff. And Dean’s paying her double for god’s sake. What’s an evening of being flirty with him? It’s not like he is an old greasy man. Well, maybe that would be better? Maybe then she will not risk falling for him? Because that’s what is going to happen if she’s not careful, she just knows it. And then she’ll get her heart broken. Even though a broken heart is a little price to pay if it means that Jack can finally start his own future, come to think of it.
“Okay,” There’s a huff of breath, he’s smiling, she can hear it, “Good. I’ll get Gabe to drop off my card, you can go shopping for a dress. The card has no limit, just buy whatever you want, alright?”
She grins smugly, “I need shoes, too.”
“Buy all the things you want.”
“Alright, sir.”
“Y/N, stop calling me that. Unless,” He pauses and there’s a playfulness in his voice, “That’s what you like.”
She’s glad it’s not a video call, so he isn’t able to see that her face is burning up. She doesn’t say anything and Dean takes the hint.
“Right, I have another meeting, I’ll see you around 7pm. The gala starts at 8pm.”
“K, bye Dean.”
“Have fun.”

Y/N’s standing in her room as she waits for Dean to come back. He’ll probably need to shower and get dressed too.
Gabe came by to drop off Dean’s Centurion card and he walked straight into Dean’s bedroom to drop off Dean’s tux onto his bed. She never had such a card in her hands, it feels heavy, made of platinum, not like her cheap plastic one that she only uses once in a blue moon.
At first she didn’t know where to go because she hadn't been dress shopping for a gala before. She wondered if H&M would be a good choice but then thinks that it probably wouldn’t. While she was out shopping she looked into shop windows and came across a beautiful long sleeved sequin pattern dress in gold.
She never knew gold would look good on her but the shop assistant was so nice, even though she knows it’s that woman’s job, she felt really good in the dress and it wasn’t over the top with the price so Dean should be okay with it. She couldn’t resist buying matching shoes, too.
Later, she splashed out some money for lingerie that she could wear under it and hoped that Dean wouldn’t mind. He told her to buy whatever she likes, so.
And now, she’s nervously pacing around her room. Her pacing only stops when she hears footsteps approaching.
There’s a knock at her door, “Y/N, you okay?”
“Yeah,” She manages to say.
“Good, sorry I’m a little late, had to pick up something on the way. I’ll shower and get dressed. Meet you in the living room in thirty minutes?”
“Sure,”
She hears him opening the door to his room.
Thirty minutes. Ugh. She hasn’t even applied makeup yet. She’s so nervous.
After a last check in the mirror, she walks out into the living area, her heels clicking on the marble flooring. She’s not used to wearing such high heels, and prays that she won’t stumble and fall flat on her face.
As she rounds the corner into the living area, she sees Dean already waiting for her, dressed in a fitting tux and smelling so fucking delicious. He looks like he’s just stepped out of a glossy magazine spread and that’s not fair. She can already see the press giving them a caption for their picture together. It reads, DEAN WINCHESTER COULD DO SO MUCH BETTER.
Y/N can feel Dean’s eyes on her. They’re wide and his lips part slightly before they curve up into a smile. It’s bright and white. She’s smiling too, can’t not smile when he’s looking at her like that. Looking at her like she’s the only one that matters. She’s not used to it at all.
“Wow,” Dean breathes out, “You look beautiful.”
She was already blushing before but now her cheeks heat up a little more, “Thank you. You’re not bad yourself.”
Dean has to chuckle and then all of a sudden, he runs back to his room, “I’ll be right back,”
After about a minute Dean reappears clutching things in his hand. One of them is a pocket square. He went in and picked out a color that matches her dress. She has to grin at that.
He places it inside his jacket but he seems to struggle, “Can you help me, I—”
“Of course,” She grins, and steps closer to him, arranging the pocket square so that I’d look nice. Patting his pocket, she leaves her hand on his chest when she’s done, feels his heartbeat underneath her palm. She can swear it beats a little faster than usual, not that she knows his resting heart rate. “All set.” She says and Dean grins at her.
“Okay, now my turn,” Dean licks his lips and clears his throat, and she can’t help but wonder what he means by his turn.
She doesn’t have to wait long, because Dean opens up the little box he was still clutching and she can see the princess cut diamond engagement ring with a matching wedding band.
“Dean, no.”
“Why, Dean, yes.” He chuckles, takes them out, and takes her left hand in his. “Y/N, will you give me the honor of being my fake wife for real now?”
Y/N has to giggle at that, “Yeah, of course,”
He smiles, slips the ring onto her ring finger and to her surprise, they fit perfectly. She looks at Dean, raises her eyebrow, “Let me guess, Ruby?”
“Yeah,” Dean smirks, and then he shows her his left hand, “I have one, too. So, you ready?”
“Not really?”
“That’s the spirit,” Dean places his hand around her waist, pulls her close and kisses her cheek softly.
It does nothing to calm her down because she’s even more nervous now.
“You gotta try to keep me from falling, okay?,” She says as he moves his hand to the small of her back, and guides her to the door.
“I would never let you fall,” Dean shows her a small smile and they step into the elevator.
In there, she eyes him up again, can’t quite take her eyes off him. He looks so good with the slight scruff and the freckles, the crinkles around his eyes deepen the longer she stares at him.
“What?” He asks her, raises an eyebrow.
“You look good, Mr. Winchester,” She says with a smile.
“You too, Mrs. Winchester. Most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. And I’m not lying.” He leans in, places another kiss on her heated cheeks before the elevator comes to a halt.
He helps her get out and Gabriel’s already waiting, holding the limousine door open for them.

Ok so this took a while to write, but hopefully it doesn’t suck!
This is a re-write of season 2 episode 3 with @kaminos-hangout-corner’s The Mum Swap AU.
It skips going through the actual labyrinth, but i does do the before and after.
Very angsty because is there another way to write?
Might do a follow up if people ask but it probably won’t be as long as this one (2044 words!!)
Without further ado, hope you enjoy!
Hilda and Frida hid behind a cart full of books as they watched the librarian approach three women sitting at a very tall table. When none of the three made any move to speak, the librarian took a step forward, earnest expression on her face.
“Honored Council, does you calling me here today mean you’ve reconsidered my request?”
Her tone was so pleading, so vulnerable, that the three women - the council, Hilda guessed - shared matching looks of pity before they schooled their faces into stern expressions.
“Unfortunately not Johanna. We have called you here for a separate matter entirely. 29 years, 364 days and 22 hours ago, The Skeleton Whisperer was checked out. As the Keeper- sorry, the librarian, after 30 years the responsibility for the missing book passes to you.”
A book floated off the cart and towards the council as the woman on the left waved her wand shaped like a rose. Or maybe it was a rose, Hilda couldn’t tell from where she was hiding. She was so entranced by the show of magic Frida had to pull her down so they wouldn’t be seen.
“But I wasn’t even the librarian then! That was-”
Johanna’s protests died off and the council members were all looking sympathetic again? Hilda didn’t know what was going on, but she intended to find out. If it weren’t for Frida’s hand on her arm keeping her down, she would have already jumped out.
“We understand, and as a non-witch, we can’t throw you into the Void of No Return, but we would have to fire you. Do you have the card with you?”
Johanna nodded and reached into her pocket, only to find it was empty.
“I swore I had it in here, maybe the other one?”
Her checking got more frantic until Frida jumped out from behind the cart waving the card, dragging Hilda out with her.
“It says Pilqfvist! M. Pilqvist!”
Johanna turned towards them as the council reeled back in shock.
“Hilda? Frida? What are you two doing here?”
As Hilda took a deep breath to tell her the whole long story, the middle council witch cut her off.
“It doesn’t matter what they’re doing here! Non-witches! In the Witches Tower! It’s unheard of!”
Johanna crossed her arms and turned back to the council with a huff.
“I’m a non-witch, and you called me here. And I come here with some regularity. So I wouldn’t say it’s ‘unheard of’.”
The middle witch was about to say something else when the witch on the left cut her off.
“Well you were always a special case Johanna,” the witch smiled. “But the point remains that the clock is ticking and these two followed you here. Luckily for you, we know where you can find Matilda Pilqvist.”
Johanna smiled back up at the witch as Hilda and Frida went to stand beside her, handing her the card as they did so.
“Thank you Abigail,” she said with a sigh of relief. “Is it nearby? I won’t be able to open any portals to get there if it’s not.”
All three witches winced before Abigail waved her wand. Nothing happened for a few seconds before a different wand came zooming into the room. Abigail floated down onto the floor as she took hold of it, drawing a rectangle in the air while chanting. Once the shape was complete, she stepped back as a door materialised and placed the wand in, turning it like a doorknob. Turning, she faced Johanna with a somber expression.
“Through this door is the labyrinth of Arch-Sorceress Matilda Pilqvist. She’s… not one for visitors. I wish you the best of luck. You… you’ll need it.”
Hilda, Frida and Johanna all looked at each other and nodded. In sync, they all stepped through the door.
~~<3~~
“Ok, I think this should be the last room,” Johanna remarked, glancing up from the map that Frida had managed to find. They stepped through to find the room full of snow and ice.
“I bet we’re going to have to fight a snow or ice monster in here!” Hilda exclaimed excitedly. As soon as the words left her mouth, a burst of steam shot up from the ground. A monster made of lava and molten rock stepped out of the steam and roared, spraying lava everywhere.
“RUN FOR THE DOOR!”
It didn’t matter who shouted, they all jumped into action. Hilda and Frida ran around each side and Johanna slid underneath the monster. Once they were all on the other side, they slammed the door shut and took a moment to catch their breaths.
Straightening, they took in their surroundings. They were in a pitch black room, no end to the expanse, only one other door. Cautiously Hilda placed a hand on the handle and turned it. Behind the door was not a castle, like Frida was picturing, or a spooky dungeon like Hilda was, but instead a place very familiar to Johanna. As the younger two entered, there was a voice coming from an armchair in the corner.
“Oh look Cornelius! We have visitors!”
As an old lady rose out of the chair and floated over to the girls, Johanna, still outside the doorway, spoke, voice so quiet it was barely a whisper.
“Tildy?”
Tildy’s head snapped towards Johanna, who had tears pooling her eyes. She flew over at speeds far faster than one would assume she would be capable of, and wrapped Johanna in a hug. Johanna sobbed into her shoulder as she hugged back. Frida and Hilda turned away, feeling that this was a private moment not meant for them to witness.
“She’s gone Tildy, I’ve waited 10 years and she never came back! I miss her so much it hurts and, and-”
Johanna cut herself off with a fresh round of tears. Tildy just patted her back sadly, leading her over to the couch.
“I know dearie, I know. I miss her too. I tried to find her but she’s blocked her magic. Short of going door to door, there’s not much we can do aside from hope she comes back.”
As Johanna sat on the couch, head in her hands, Tildy turned towards Hilda and Frida.
“Now what can I do for you two young ladies?”
Frida didn’t answer so Hilda stepped in and took the lead.
“We’re looking for a book that you checked out… uhh… 29 years, 364 days, 23 hours and 45 minutes ago. The Skeleton Whisperer?”
Tildy huffed and rolled her eyes.
“Did those three fussbudgets send you here to make me return a book? I have more important things to deal with right now, you tell them I’ll return it when I’m good and ready.”
Hilda wasn’t sure if it was magic, or just Tildy’s grandmotherly nature, but she found herself relaxing a bit. It’s not like anything life threatening was at stake, right?
“But if we don’t get this book returned in time, Johanna will lose her job!”
The sense of urgency returned to Hilda at Frida’s words, and she started looking around for where the book might be.
“Oh dear, that is a problem! Well it can’t have gone far, we can look for it together. I’ll go get my crossbow!”
Hilda watched as Cornelius munched on a ball of yarn that was lying on the ground and got an idea.
“Tildy?” She started. “Is there any way your familiar might have the book?”
Tildy and Frida both turned to look at Cornelius as Tildy floated over.
“Cornelius? What’s that in your mouth?”
Tildy grabbed Cornelius as he tried to slowly shuffle away, making him spit out the wide variety of stuff he had swallowed, including the book which Frida quickly found. Tildy turned to Johanna and took her hand.
“Are you ready to go dear? There’s no rush.”
Frida covered Hilda’s mouth before she could point out that yes, there was a rush, but it didn’t matter as Johanna stood up, wiped her eyes, and then nodded. They all linked hands and teleported to the Council Room.
The card tower that the council was building fell abruptly as the group teleported in, though they all rushed to get back into dignified positions.
“We got the book!” Hilda yelled, waving it around for the council to see. Hilda and Frida were standing in front, Tildy beside them and Johanna behind them.
“I’m sorry, but a deadline is a deadline. You missed your chance by about 15 minutes.”
Hilda was confused and angry. They totally had more time than that!
“I’m sorry dears. Time gets a bit… messy when you translocate like that,” Tildy apologised.
“NO!” Johanna cried. “I have to stay here! What if she comes back! I need to make sure she’s ok!”
The council shifted in place as Tildy placed a comforting hand on Johanna’s shoulder.
“I’m sorry but rules are rules. Johanna, Librarian of Trollberg City Library and The Witches Tower, Famil-”
“Oh what utter nonsense!” Tildy interrupted. “Aren’t you the slighted bit impressed that three people without magic made it through my maze, when so many seasoned witches have failed? And can’t you see one of them is a natural witch?” She added, when the council shifted some more.
“Well that is true,” the middle witch conceded.
Hilda puffed out her chest a bit in pride and Frida gave an encouraging smile.
“So what do you say… Frida?”
Frida looked just as surprised as Hilda felt.
“Me?” She questioned. Tildy just nodded.
“Of course dear! And Hilda, you’ve got the spirit to be an invaluable familiar to Frida.”
As Frida and Hilda were celebrating their new witch-and-familiar status, Johanna stiffened behind them. With a wave of her finger, Tildy summoned her teapot, some cups and a few board games, leaving Hilda and Frida to catch them.
“Now, time for tea and board games back at my place! It’s been so long since I’ve had anyone new to play with, Cornelius is a horrible cheat!”
Tildy grabbed Johanna’s hands and started to pull her along when Johanna stopped her.
“Girls, would you mind waiting outside for a bit? There are a few more things that The Council, Tildy and I need to discuss.”
After sharing a look, Frida and Hilda nodded and left, finding the perfect position to eavesdrop.
~~<3~~
“Dear I understand you might be upset but-”
“OF COURSE I’M UPSET!” Johanna interrupted. “TILDY WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? THERE IS NO WAY THIS WILL END WELL!”
Johanna had tears streaming down her face as years of bottled up emotion came out. Abigail opened her mouth to speak but Johanna cut her off as well.
“I THOUGHT THE COUNCIL SAID I WAS THE TRIAL! WELL GUESS WHAT? THE TRIAL FAILED! THEY’RE JUST CHILDREN, WE SHOULDN’T DO THIS TO THEM!”
Johanna finally ran out of steam and sunk to the floor, overwhelmed by memories and emotion.
“We were just children,” she whispered through tears.
Tildy patted her on the back comfortingly.
“That’s the thing about children dear, they can learn from the mistakes of the past and become better for it. And you’ll be there to help them along the way, you can help them avoid those mistakes. Now, how about we go back to my place? I think we’ve kept them waiting long enough, don’t you?”
Johanna nodded and stood up on shaky legs. Wiping her eyes, she gave Tildy a hug and they left the room together. Once they met up with Hilda and Frida, Tildy teleported them all back to set up some games.
BONUS:
“Johanna?” Hilda started. “What’s the name of the person that you’re trying to find? We’ve met a lot of people on our adventures, maybe we’ve run into her!”
Johanna stiffened a bit before relaxing and let out a low chuckle.
“Well I don’t doubt that,” she laughed. “Here, I’ll draw you a picture as well.”
Hilda nodded and took her turn in Dragon Panic. By the time it got to Johanna’s turn, she was finished.
“This is Kaisa,” she said, sliding the paper over to Hilda. Hilda just stared at it in shock, picking it up and looking at it closer.
“This-” she said, the words getting stuck in her mouth. “This is my mum.”

busy busy boy
based off of the “wayv as male thot jobs post”
this is footlocker employee!xuxi and coworker o/c
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were tired.
Your feet are aching from standing for almost the entirety of your shift. For the past six hours, you’ve had to deal with greasy teenage boys looking for the latest Nike shoe, helicopter parents wanting to make sure their kid had the best fit and angry customers trying to make a return without their receipt. Working at Foot Locker was exhausting.
“Hey _____, do you want to take your fifteen? I can cover you for right now,” your coworker, Seulgi, said.
“Oh my god yes please,” you said. Bless Seulgi’s heart, you thought. Your patience was starting to diminish by the hour. It was already five hours into your shift and you still hadn’t eaten lunch nor did you get enough sleep last night. College was a bitch and so was that Sensation and Perception class.
“Go ahead and go, I got you,” Seulgi replied.
“Do you want anything from Starbucks?,” you asked, “I gotchu so don’t worry about it.”
“Just an iced americano, please,” she said, “I’ll Venmo you the money when you come back.”
“Don’t worry babe. I’m pretty sure Ten is working right now anyway,” you said. Your childhood best friend and roommate had left earlier than you in his Starbucks uniform, but he mentioned covering a coworker’s shift.
Seulgi laughed, “Got it. By the way, give him my number, yeah?” Seulgi threw a wink at you as you gagged. “Fine, fine. I’ll be back with our drinks. Good luck with the white mom over there by the Air Jordans. She’s been trying to get us to give her an employee discount.”
Seulgi rolled her eyes and mumbled under her breath as you walked away. You laughed at her reaction and hoped for her sake that the mom wouldn’t try to mess with her. Seulgi was incredibly intimidating when she wanted to be.
Working at the mall wasn’t as bad as you originally thought it would be. Since most of the workers were college students from either your school or the nearby universities, you enjoyed talking to your coworkers. They made your shifts bearable and entertaining.
It also helped that your childhood best friend worked at the Starbucks in the very same mall. You and Ten had grown up together and formed a friendship in middle school. Both of you stuck by each other in high school, applied to nearly the same schools, and decided to enroll in the same university. It was known that wherever Ten went, so did you. You two were inseparable.
As you rounded the corner, you saw Ten at the counter laughing at what someone was saying. Of course, he’s flirting on the job. Well, you mused, at least this one has a nice back. And he’s tall.
Wait.
He’s wearing a black and white short sleeve shirt.
You would know that hideous uniform anywhere, especially since you were wearing the exact same one.
Ten was talking to Huang Xuxi.
Huang Xuxi was one of the golden boys of your university. Captain of the soccer team, charming, incredibly handsome, and tall. (You’re pretty sure he’s around six feet. God.) Xuxi was known for just how talented he was on the field and for just how good he was in bed.
Granted, he wasn’t that much of an asshole. He never strung more than one girl along. He made sure every person he hooked up with knew that there was nothing more attached to it and if they did not want that, they were free to walk away and pretend nothing had ever happened. No hard feelings. Because of his transparency with partners and tight lips, no one ever had anything bad to say about him.
In fact, it was the girls he hooked up with instead that opened their mouth and bragged about having sex with him. They talked about how he always made sure they came first, how good he was with his mouth (in more ways than one), and his hands.
His gigantic fucking hands that could singlehandedly hold one iPad.
(You’ve witnessed it before and fuck was that one of the weirdest things that have turned you on).
Ten was still smiling and laughing at whatever Xuxi had said to him when he glanced up and noticed you. His face immediately changed into a mischievous smirk and when glanced at Xuxi and back to you. Ten knew how hot you found Xuxi and how much of a work crush you refused to admit you had.
That bitch, you thought. Ten better not say any dumb shit or I’m kicking his ass when we’re at home.
“Hey _____,” Ten said smugly, “What are you doing here?”
You were so gonna kick his ass.
“Hi Ten, can you make me an iced chai with soy and an iced americano? I have to bring it back to Seulgi before my break ends,” you said with a strained smile. You refused to have him and Xuxi in the same room for a long time. It would only end with Ten embarrassing you.
“Sure, let me just go get more stuff from storage,” he said while grinning.
You were glaring at Ten’s back as he walked away when Xuxi finally spoke.
“Hey, sweetheart.”
You hated how flustered you felt when he called you that.
You took a deep breath and put a sultry smile on, dialing up the charm. You turned around to see Xuxi smiling down at you with a fond look in his eyes. You felt your ears getting read and cursed yourself mentally.
Get a grip bitch, he can’t know how much you want to swallow his dick.
“Hey Xuxi,” you said with your best flirty voice, “Are you gonna start your shift soon?”
“Yeah, I clock in soon, like around twenty minutes or so. Are you gonna be working with me for a bit, baby?” he replied with a gentle smile.
You hated how easily he could call you pet names and hated even more how much it affected you, but you would never outwardly show it. Even if you did want to fuck him.
“Yeah, I got three more hours to go. I haven’t taken my lunch yet though since I’m trying to leave early.”
“Oh?,” Xuxi perked up “You wanna get lunch with me then?”
Fuck. He was so fucking cute. And that was worse than sexy.
“I’m sorry babe, but I promised Jennie I would eat with her after she finished her shift. We’re supposed to be going over to Jisoo’s after work,” you apologized. You didn’t even notice the pet name you just gave him but he did. While he perked up and looked at you with a gleam in his eye, you mulled over how you had already made plans in advance to meet up with your other best friends.
“Ah, it’s okay. Some other time, yeah?”
“Of course. Besides, I’ll ask the manager if she’ll let us work on the floor that way you can tell me all about your game last night?” you said. Your words ended off with a question. God, you regretted saying that as soon it came out. You didn’t want to be that annoying bitch who just kept fawning over him and never letting him breathe. Xuxi brightened up. “Yes! God, I hate being on the floor with Matthew. He won’t stop talking to me about his latest gym session and the new protein he’s trying out. You know yesterday he texted me telling me I need to work on my tits? Not chest or pecs, tits.”
You busted out laughing. Your coworker, Matthew, who usually went by BM, was such a gym bro.
As you and Xuxi kept talking about your coworkers' antics and updated him on what has happened today, Ten had already come out and started working on the drinks. He noticed how Xuxi and you had moved away from the counter to stand by the windows. He didn’t even think you noticed the change or how Xuxi looked at you.
Yes, Xuxi was a huge manwhore and had a body count that could rival the number of goals the soccer team scored last season. Yes, he was known to not date or keep a girl for longer than two weeks. But Xuxi looked at you like he was endeared. Like he was intrigued. He and Ten had quite a few mutual friends, so Ten is no stranger to seeing Xuxi flirt. With you though, it was different.
Xuxi looked like he wanted to ravish you and hold your hand. He looked at you as if he was hooked on your every word, and he was.
Ten smiled to himself.
“_____, your drinks are ready!” He yelled out.
You startled and turned when Ten called your name. You had nearly forgotten you were on your very short fifteen-minute break and had to get to work before your manager fired you. Talking to Xuxi just made you tune out everything else.
“Let’s go back to work together, I’ll just sit in the back while waiting,” Xuxi whispered to you. Turning back around, you startled when you realized just how close his face was to yours. Just What the fuck. How did he get so close? Why does he smell so good? How is his skin so clear?
This isn’t fair, you dejectedly thought. Xuxi had no visible pores at all while you were wearing the e.l.f primer and translucent powder to make sure your skin doesn’t look cakey.
The fuck, must be nice being born with naturally good skin. It saves you money AND time.
“Okay,” you mumbled. You glanced down at his lips and….. Wow. Are they naturally that big? Did he get fillers? What other body parts were big besides his lips, hands, and di---
“_____?”
“Yes!,” you jumped. You made the mistake to make eye contact with Xuxi while he smirked as if he knew that you were gawking at him.
“Let’s go back to work, okay babe?”
“Yeah. Yeah, okay. Sure,” you said dazedly.
“Hey _____, hurry the fuck up and come here,” Ten said.
You walked up to him and Ten yanked you so hard that you basically had half your body on the other side of the counter.
“Get it together bitch,” Ten whispered. “You did not waste some of your primer and the jeans that make your ass look good just to make an ass out of yourself. Stop being ditzy and starting flirting, you slut. I know you want to suck his dick. Plus, you need to get out of this dry spell you’re in. That belt you have on is basically a chastity one. Especially since it's from Ross.”
You gasped. “First of all, fuck you, you classist bitch. Second of all, I am not in a dry spell. We’re just not all massive hoes like you.”
“Yeah well, I’m a bisexual. And a dancer. And one that lives in Los Angeles. Everyone knows we’re the biggest sluts there is. And don’t change the subject. The last time you got laid was at that frat party which was last fucking month. You hooked up with Mingyu, remember?”
“Yeah,” you sighed dreamily. Mingyu was in your top five best lays ever. You knew that football player strength would have come in handy. “God, he was so good. He was huge AND had the strength to throw me around. You know I love men that can carry me.”
“Yes, I do, unfortunately. I also know that so can Xuxi over there. But guess what? He won’t unless you just keep staring at his blowjob lips and acting like some shy virgin. Now go, I want you to bring out the hoe side of _____ and have him so wrapped around your finger that he daydreams about you when WAP comes on,” Ten hissed as he practically shoved you away.
As annoying as your roommate may be, he was right. You wanted that dick. And you were going to get it.
You took a deep breath, fixed your posture, and straightened out your shoulders. Grabbing the drink carrier from Ten, he quickly fixed your hair and whispered “That’s it. That’s the hot _____ I know. Go make me proud.”
You walked back to where Xuxi was leaning by the door. “Ready?” you asked.
“Yeah,” he said. Xuxi locked his phone and put it in his pocket. When he lifted up his, you gave him your best sultry smile.
“Let’s go then,” you said, with a suggestive tone.
Xuxi smirked as he opened the door for you. He had a sinking feeling that whatever you and Ten were having a whispering match about, would end with him in trouble.
But he wouldn’t mind at all, especially with your ass looking that good in those pair of jeans and smelling so damn good.

Shady boss lies about me to coworkers, I have her fired and in dept for several years after.
I have been lurking around here fore quite some time, and wishing I had a good story for you, until suddenly I realized I do! This happened back in 2011/12 when I was the ripe old age of 19 years old. This is a long one, so do strap in.
I got a part time job at a fast food place specializing in subs, not subway, but very similar, when I was 17. It was located in the towns mall, and was fairly busy. It’s a national chain where I’m from. When I started there the owner at the time was really nice, and she started that branch in my town. She was very strict on following all the cleaning requirements and took real pride in her shop. The way it was set up financially was that the franchise taker basically had to work from open to closing (9 am-7 pm) to even have a chance at making a decent living, and preferably only have one part timer helping for a few hours when it was at its busiest. It’s like the MLM of fast food. Why anyone would take on such a business wager is beyond me, but I digress. However, this owner actually managed to make money off it.
A year or so after I started, the owner decided she would move to a different part of the country and sell her branch and have someone else take over. That lucky individual was my co-worker who was three years older than me. (From now on Bosslady) She had worked there since it opened and was the natural choice to move up the ladder. Because she didn’t have the money to pay for the share in the franchise, about $5k, and nobody else was willing to pay that and have to work their ass off for minimal revenue, HQ allowed her to take over while they bought the old owner out, and HQ kept the share.
Now, Bosslady had no idea how to run a mile, much less a business, and small things started happening quite soon after she took over. I would normally work there after school, by myself, but she would often hang around the mall when she had finished work. Bosslady always complained about how little money she made, and would often come by when me or the other part timers were working and tell us to give her $20-100 right out of the register. Considering total daily sales never reached more than about $1200, that was a lot. I barely made $12/h, so my motivation was too low to care, and neither did the rest of the part timers, so we complied and gave her the money. My spider sense was tingling a bit, telling me it was fishy to grab money right out of the register, even if she was the owner, but if she wanted to dig her own grave that was fine by me.
I was friends with Bosslady and we would hang out and often hung out on the weekends, and we worked saturdays together. Which ment we would go out on Friday nights, get shit faced and work the next day hung over. Oh to be young. I would only go out during the weekends and never missed a day of work no matter how hung over I was, and saturdays were the only days I would be hung over. Besides school and work, I was in a dance company, and had dance classes everyday, mostly after 7pm, but a few days I had them earlier and couldn’t work no matter what. This is important.
Every night we would count the register, leave $100 dollars in change and small bills for the next day, and deposit the rest in a safe at the mall. I’m not entirely sure, because it’s been a long time, but I do believe Bosslady would tell us to take the difference out of the $100 for the register, somehow believing the money would magically show up the next day. After a while we started having problems with the distributers, we were not allowed to order on credit, and had to go to the bank to pay the bills in person etc. After that things started getting really weird, and Bosslady refused to let us make the cash deposits at night, insisting that we put the money bags in one of the cabinets inside the shop, which after a month or two culminated to a lot of cash. We had also had trouble a few months with getting paid on time. Since I worked the most out of all the part timers, I had the biggest salary, and the people who administered pay decided to pay the smaller checks first. This girl had bills to pay so that did not sit well with me. I was also the hardest worker out of all of us, Bosslady included.
Then one lovely Tuesday while I was at school, one of the other part timers asked me to cover her shift, to which I said I wasn’t able to because not only did I have back-to-back dance classes I also had a paper to write for school. Later that night I get a text from the girl saying “if you were hung over you could have just said so, you don’t have to lie..” and I’m like “excuse me? I don’t drink on school nights, and there’s no way I would have had the time to do so last night with dance class right after work and working on my paper” to which she just answered “yeah sure, Bosslady told me you were out last night”. The funny part is, this was a fairly small town, so there where nowhere to go on weeknights, so even if I wanted to break my own rules and party on a school night, I couldn’t. This really pissed me off, and figured I would stop playing nice and saving Bosslady’s ass.
Que the revenge: One day out of the blue, during summer, Bosslady declared she was going to go on a last minute, two week vacation to the states, and told me to take care of the shop while she was gone. I said fine, but would like more notice next time. I also asked her how she paid for it, considering she wasn’t able to take out any salary from the shop, and she just said “oh, I had some savings”. I just thought “Hmm, that’s weird considering you actually don’t make money”, but didn’t say anything.
The first day I was in charge HQ called, and the conversation went like this:
HQguy: “hey, is Bosslady around?”
Me: “No, she took a last minute vacation to the states and put me in charge, didn’t she tell you?”
HQguy: “No, she did not indulge that information. But maybe you can help me. Do you know what happened to all the cash deposits from the past few months?”
Me: “Yeah, they’re in one of the cabinets here. Bosslady told us not to deposit them, she even yelled at me when I was about to, because I felt really uncomfortable knowing we had what must have been more than $15k lying around in the shop, and gave me an excuse about having to look them over”
HQguy: “Are you serious?!”
Me: “Sure am. What should I do?”
HQguy: “I know the previous owner is in town, maybe you can call her and ask if she can come help you? She knows what’s what, and please deposit all the cash today!”
Me: “Sure, no problem. I will look over all the cash bags to see how much there actually is and make sure they’re all there and deposit them ASAP” and we hung up.
I called the old owner and told her what was up, and she sounded really surprised and was there within ten minutes. Together we quickly looked over all the cash, but didn’t count it. They where in these little pouches that had a form on the front where you filled in how many of each bill and coin was in it, so we figured the right amount would be in each bag. They weren’t sealed, because Bosslady had told us not to seal them before putting them in the cabinet. I then put them all in a bag and discretely made my way over to the safe where we deposited them. It was on the other side of the mall, and the mall was open so my heart was racing. I felt like everyone knew I was carrying a shitload of cash.
The old owner started asking me if we kept up with the cleaning requirements, and I answered truthfully that Bosslady never told us to do any of the time consuming stuff, like the ice-cube machine, saying that we would have to do that after closing and she didn’t have the money to pay us for the extra hours, so she said would do it on the weekends herself. Old owner just shrugged and told me she had to leave. Since I was all alone in the shop and it was fairly quiet, I started looking around for things to clean. This was around 4 pm. I quickly realized that she had never cleaned anything like she said she had. Under the fridges and workbenches there where LAYERS of dirt, the water tank in the ice cube machine was GREEN with algae, the cooling fans in the refrigerators where covered in mold. I started cleaning, but quickly realized this would require my full attention, so I closed the shop early. I called the old owner and she supported my decision and called the mall manager for me to let them know what was up.
I have never cleaned that much in my life. I scrubbed everything. I pulled all the refrigerators out and scrubbed thoroughly behind everything. What took the longest was the ice cube machine. I wasn’t done until 11 pm that night. Being the petty bitch I am, and being pissed Bosslady went on vacation with the shop in the state it was, I took pictures of everything before I started cleaning and sent them all to the food safety agency, telling them that nothing had been cleaned for over a year. I also got to clock all the hours I spent cleaning, getting an ok from HQguy. Looking back now and seeing how little I was paid, I would have just not cared, but at the time I was afraid people would get sick and die from eating the food.
The next day I called the old owner and all the part timers asking them to meet at my place saying we needed a staff meeting without Bosslady and now was the chance. They all came and we started talking, telling me what Bosslady had done when they were working together and other things they had observed her doing. I took notes, and later that night I wrote a seven(!!) page document listing all the things we knew she did wrong, and how we suspected she was stealing money from the shop etc., and I emailed it directly to HQguy. He emailed me back saying he would look into it.
HQguy called me a few days later thanking me for notifying him about all the things she was doing, and told me that when the cash was registered the amount listed on the form and the amount in the pouches wasn’t the same, and asked me if I knew where it had gone. A light went off, and I realized the “savings” Bosslady had used to pay for her trip was actually money she had taken from the pouches, and that’s why she wouldn’t let us seal them. I told him as much and he said he would dig a little.
When Bosslady came back from vacation, she seemed very stressed. I acted like nothing had happened when she was gone, but chuckled when she opened the cash cabinet and saw that all the money was gone, and her face turned so white she was almost see through, but she said nothing. She was in the back most of the day on her phone and came out asking me if I could cover for her the next few days as she had to go to HQ for a last minute meeting (HQ was 8 hours away). I agreed and went home.
Over the next few days I was seething with excitement to find out what happened. When she came back she tried to play it cool and said “I’ve decided to quit. I feel like doing something different, so I’m just working until the end of the month, and then I’m leaving”, and I just acted sorry and oblivious. I knew the old owner was kept in the loop by HQ, and she told me what really happened.
Bosslady had met with HQ who had questioned her about the missing money and lack of cleaning etc. (there was more, but this is already longer than the Bible). She had denied it all at first, trying to pin it on of us, and saying she had suspected someone was stealing the money and that’s why she didn’t deposit it etc, but eventually broke down and admitted it all. She was then given the option of quitting and paying them back all the missing money in installments or having charges pressed against her. She obviously chose the former. Personally I would have pressed charges no matter what, but they wanted to help her out because I guess they understood she was in a bit of a tough situation with not making any money on the shop, and also didn’t want it blow up in the media.
I kept working there for a few more months, but quit because i found a job that paid more. Word spread about what Bosslady had done, so she really struggled to find a new job to pay what she owed, since no one trusted her. She eventually did, but had to pay them back for several years later. We did not keep in touch.
Guess she shouldn’t have lied about me to my coworkers.
And I’m all out of breath
TL;DR: shady boss lies to my coworkers about me being too hungover to cover their shifts, I tell HQ about all the shady stuff she’s doing and she loses her job and has to pay them back the money she stole for several years, and lost her good reputation.

Working until midnight at their bakery doesn't usually have a lot of perks but Eskel wouldn't trade Jaskier crashing into his life during one such evening shift for anything...
A/N: just a chaotic lil origin story for an au that’ll only exist in oneshots bc i’m not organised enough for another proper wip-
-
Morhen Cares Bakery wasn’t particularly well-known.
In fact, as bakeries went, it was just about average and it stayed comfortably just about average until Jaskier came into the picture. Well, crashed into the picture.
Their bakery is usually open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays because Vesemir insists on giving people who don't want to drink a place to spend the evening, even though Lambert very pointedly grumbles about him caring more for strangers than the nights out of his own children whenever he happens to be on the evening shift. Nonetheless, the lights in their bakery only go out when it hits midnight on those days, just like clockwork.
Unlike clockwork, the little bell above the entrance chimes frantically as the door swings open just before twelve on one such Friday that just so happens to be the incredibly busy Valentine’s eve, where everyone had decided they wanted to buy their crushes and loved ones baked goods for some reason.
“We’re closing,” Eskel calls tiredly.
“I only need your last minute!” someone whisper-yells, and Eskel frowns, glancing over the counter.
The man who’s currently gesturing at the clock with desperate hope doesn’t wait for him to reply before literally launching himself over the counter, then scrambling backwards so he’s as close to the counter as possible, leaning against it and breathing heavily.
Eskel only has time to frown before someone else peering through the window and bursting in, once again sending the little bell above their door into a frenzy. At the same time, the stranger on the floor clamps his hands over his mouth, squeezing his eyes shut.
“Is he here?” the second stranger demands, icy malice in his voice.
Praying that he’s not making the wrong assumptions about who he’s meant to be supporting here, Eskel just folds his arms. “We’ve closed now. Unless you’re looking for me, I’m afraid I can’t help you.”
Eskel watches as the man’s eyes travel to his scars before he visibly grimaces, his upper lip curling in disdain, and shakes his head. “No, I doubt you could,” he mutters before leaving just as obnoxiously as he’d arrived.
The stranger curled up at his feet lets out a shaky exhale, distracting him from his brief flare-up of self-consciousness, and looks up at him with a gratitude so heavy, Eskel literally has to take a step back. He has no idea how the other man interprets that but he’s springing up and smiling before Eskel can think to apologise.
“Thank you. Gods, thank you for that,” he whispers.
“Yeah, no problem,” Eskel replies, then frowns at the way the other man seems to be swaying on his feet. “Are you alright?”
There’s a moment of silence before the man lets out a strained chuckle. “I’m very sorry but I think I’m going to pass out now.”
He thinks right.
Cursing, Eskel lunges forwards to catch him as his eyes flutter shut, twisting to one side as they both fall and landing in an awkward heap but thankfully managing to avoid head wounds for either of them. He has no idea what the protocol is for unconscious strangers at midnight but he can’t just leave the man there so, with a sigh, Eskel lifts him up with one hand under his knees and the other supporting his neck, carrying him into the office at the back.
He only really panics after he finishes closing everything up to find the stranger still lying on the couch, showing no signs of waking up but mercifully still breathing. The only bright side of the situation is that, ironically, he no longer feels tired himself.
“What happened?” Vesemir asks through the phone as soon as he picks up, having reached that point in life where he’s wise enough to know when something’s wrong without anyone having to tell him.
Eskel rubs the back of his neck as he glances back over to the stranger. “Uh, what are you meant to do when someone passes out for no apparent reason?”
“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” he says quickly, wishing he’d at least said hello first, “but someone came in just as I was closing and now he’s lying in the office and I don’t know what to do.”
“Where are they others?”
“They left a little earlier, I said I’d lock up for today,” Eskel replies, and as much their whole family is prone to lying for each other, that’s actually the truth this time.
Vesemir starts saying something but Eskel is distracted by a soft groan behind him. As soon as he sees the stranger stirring, he sighs in relief. “Wait, he’s waking up. I’ll call you back if it’s anything serious.”
“Make sure he’s not in danger before you let him go,” Vesemir tells him, “and give him something to eat so he doesn’t pass out again.”
Eskel smiles at how fiercely Vesemir continues to just generally care and hangs up even as he’s saying his goodbye, walking over to the stranger and offering him a smile. “Hey, how are you feeling?”
“Not even slightly concussed,” the man replies as if he’s well-acquainted with waking up to concussions, which does absolutely nothing to soothe Eskel’s worries. After a second, he adds, “Thank you for your minute, by the way.”
Eskel raises an eyebrow. “It’s been a little longer than that.”
He means for it to be a joke but the stranger sits up with a guilty frown. “Ugh, I’m sorry. I just really needed a place to hide and I remembered Schro- uh, my friend telling me about this cute bakery that stays open really late and man am I glad I found you but I didn’t mean to ruin your plans, I’m so sorry! You probably had somewhere else to be by now and I totally just interrupted, I swear I’ll make it up to you and- oh hell, you don’t look very impressed, I’m going to go now!”
Or at least he tries to, only to stumble and fall into Eskel when his legs wobble.
Eskel blinks. “Maybe you should take it easy,” he suggests, gently but firmly guiding the other man so he’s sat back on the couch, perching next to him just in case he topples over for a third time.
“Yeah, maybe that’s a good idea,” the stranger mumbles, melting into the cushions as he curls his arms around his stomach.
“Are you hurt?” Eskel asks.
“No, I’m Jaskier,” the man, apparently Jaskier, retorts with a grin.
Eskel snorts, then remembers how worried he still is. “I don’t think having a particular name makes you exempt from injuries.”
He’s strangely pleased with the way Jaskier’s lips curve into a smile and the guilt in his eyes morphs into a sparkling amusement, but he’s also confused as to why he’s paying attention to those details when there are more pressing matters on hand.
“But really, are you hurt?” Eskel repeats.
Jaskier shakes his head, still smiling. “I’ve had far worse, I promise. Just some bruises that are definitely worth the chance to meet you.”
And because the night seems to be against him, he feels himself blushing.
“You are truly the stuff of sonnets,” Jaskier breathes. At that, Eskel scoffs; he’s well aware that he’s the least attractive member of the Morhen family and he really doesn’t need two strangers attempting to mock him in the same night.
“No no no, don’t do that. I promise I’m being honest, I swear on my mother’s grave!” Jaskier blurts, then claps a hand over his mouth. “Ignore that last part, my mother doesn’t even have a grave yet.”
Eskel is trying really hard not to laugh when Jaskier continues, “Amendment, I swear on all things Shakespeare that I am very definitely not pointing out how handsome you are in jest. Is that better?”
“Why Shakespeare?” Eskel asks, but in truth he’s already convinced.
Jaskier shrugs. “I’ve written several dissertations on his work and I can’t think of many other people I’ve suffered through countless sleepless nights for.”
Well, he doesn’t sound like he’s lying. Eskel’s not entirely sure he trusts him just yet but well, Vesemir had instructed him to offer the stranger something to eat so he might as well make good on that promise if nothing else.
“Would you like a cookie? We probably have some leftovers and you seem like you could use one.”
Jaskier blinks, then beams at him. For about a second before his face falls and he deflates. “I don’t have any money.”
“Something to do with that guy chasing you?” Eskel asks quietly.
Jaskier nods. “Yup! Excellent deduction, Sherlock.”
“Who?” Eskel asks, frowning.
Jaskier makes a strange, screech-like noise of disbelief. “You’re kidding. Please tell me you’re kidding. Oh come on, surely you’ve heard of the most famous fictional detective to ever exist?”
He really hasn’t. And it must show on his face because Jaskier sighs loudly, then points at him accusingly. “I am going to make you watch every Sherlock-related piece of media with me as my way of thanking you for all this and that is a promise.”
“It’s half past twelve,” Eskel points out, “and I have work in the morning.”
“Yeah, and? So do I,” Jaskier retorts, then scowls. “Although I’m pretty sure I’m about to be fired permanently this time.”
“I’m sorry,” Eskel offers.
Jaskier waves a hand. “It wasn’t worth any tears. It barely paid the bills and everyone there was so stiff, it was like being the only human on a planet of robots. Androids. Cyborgs? Whatever, you know what I mean.”
Eskel doesn’t think he does, his family is absolute chaos and he loves them for it. He can’t really fathom what kind of job Jaskier is about to lose but to be honest, he’d rather stay ignorant than work in any place like that.
“Is that offer for cookies still on? I’ve just been struck with the inevitable melancholy of being cast aside by yet another establishment,” Jaskier tells him theatrically, as if he’s auditioning for something.
“Of course,” Eskel assures him, which is why they find themselves in the kitchen a few minutes later.
Jaskier hops up onto the breakfast bar Geralt had made them install for Ciri’s sake and swings his legs back and forth as if he’s her age until Eskel gets out the batch of leftover cookies, laughing when Jaskier immediately reaches for them with what can only be dubbed as grabby-hands.
“Woah, these are phenomenal! What do you put in them, essence of unicorn?” Jaskier asks, his words a little muffled by the cookie in his mouth.
“We stick to the more acquirable vanilla essence, actually,” Eskel corrects, taking a bite of one the cookies too, only because he feels awkward just standing around watching someone else eat.
“Huh, didn’t take you for a strictly vanilla kind of guy,” Jaskier says casually, and Eskel promptly chokes on a chocolate chip.
He can see Jaskier nervously biting his lip as he recovers so, as smoothly as he can manage with a slightly croaky voice, he asks, “What kind of guy do you take me for then?”
Jaskier grins wider than should be humanly possible, leaning forwards so his elbows are resting on his knees and his chin is balanced on his palms. “You tell me.”
“Maybe another time, when I’m not afraid you’re going to collapse again at any moment,” Eskel practically mumbles, not sure where this spark of confidence is coming from but not exactly complaining because it’s actually pretty nice.
“Well, perhaps if you weren’t so handsome, I wouldn’t keep falling for you.” Jaskier has the audacity to wink, at which point Eskel gives up on the cookie altogether in fear of death by being flirted at whilst chewing.
Jaskier gasps before he can form a reply, apparently having caught sight of something behind him. “Look at that, it’s technically Valentine’s day! Oh, please tell me your shift ends earlier tomorrow? Or uh, today?”
Eskel blinks.
“Yeah, I’m here from noon to six, we never have the same people working the late shift both days for general health and safety reasons,” he replies, internally thanking whatever lucky stars he has for that calendar coincidence.
Jaskier looks about as excited as Eskel feels. “Well then, unless it’s a matter of life and death, you’d better cancel any plans you have after six!”
“Oh?” Eskel raises an eyebrow.
Apparently understanding that Eskel didn’t have any plans anyway, Jaskier smiles. “I’ll take that as your version of a yes.”
He slides off the breakfast bar with another blink and you miss it hiss of pain but straightens up before Eskel can question it, grinning. “So it’s a date! Well, I suppose it’s actually a time, but that doesn’t sound even nearly as romantic.”
“Both sound alright to me,” Eskel laughs.
“So you’re happy for it to be a date date?” Jaskier asks incredulously, but Eskel blames his tone on the fact that it’s nearly one am rather than someone who looks so adorable genuinely being surprised at anyone wanting to go on a date with him.
Either way, Eskel nods tentatively. “If that’s what you want?”
With the exact opposite energy, Jaskier nods so quickly that Eskel fears he’s going to give himself whiplash or something and grins again. “There is legitimately nothing I could possibly want more.”
Eskel snorts, gesturing to the other cookies to try and take the attention away from how warm his face is suddenly becoming. “You seemed pretty excited about those not long ago.”
Jaskier waves a hand dismissively. “Why settle for the creations when you have the handsome creator himself?”
Well, there’s no way he’s hiding the heat on his face anymore. Especially not after he meets Jaskier’s gaze and finds nothing but sincerity in his ridiculously bright eyes, not even the slightest hint of taunting at all.
“I should probably go,” Jaskier whispers eventually and if Eskel didn’t know better, he’d say he almost sounds sad.
A little thrown off, Eskel just nods. “Yeah, yeah, of course, it’s pretty late. Here, I’ll walk you out.”
Jaskier waits patiently enough as Eskel locks the kitchen up behind him and grabs his coat from the office, leading them both to the rear entrance and locking that door behind them too. It’s only once they’re outside that he realises Jaskier is only wearing a shirt and jeans which, no matter how inexplicably good he makes them look, aren’t exactly suited to travelling anywhere so late at night.
“Do you need a ride home or…?” Eskel offers.
But Jaskier just shakes his head. “No, I was headed to a friend’s place anyway, she doesn’t live far from here. Don’t worry, I won’t take up any more of your time right now. Though the same can’t be said for this evening.”
“I can’t wait,” Eskel admits honestly.
“Until six, my dear valentine!” Jaskier blows him a kiss before starting to walk away, practically sauntering into the darkness like he owns the night and turning a corner so not even the streetlights can keep him visible before Eskel remembers that he’s meant to keep breathing even when he’s by himself.
Maybe he’s finally found a reason to forgo cursing Cupid in favour of thanking him this year.

MY MASTERLIST
It was a rare occasion for the Lahela family to take a leave, as both of them are doctors which shows the harsh reality of full schedules either, it begins on midnight or 12 p.m. The family will always be absent in the house. But, everything changes after Louis was born. After that, Alexis and Kailani came to grace into their lives bringing a joy that no one would compare. It was a compromise, but they manage to still continue medicine despite everything. And, today was a different day. Casey decides to finally introduce a huge part of her childhood to the kids.
It was a beautiful Friday morning, as they begin their journey. The trip consists of a few snacks and gas stops, followed by a tradition that Casey and Bryce created which includes a small picnic along the roads of Boston. The Lahela children were enthusiastic on the family trip despite it clashes with their school timetables except for Alexis who is much pleased on skipping a day of school, which hints a bit of Bryce rebellious phase that had maybe inherit inside of her.
‘Let’s get the party started!’ An enthusiastic Bryce shouted in the car, as Casey laughs in delight at her husband’s actions. The kids were jumping along the enthusiasm, as they hit the road. After a few hours, they arrived at the destination. It was a breath of fresh air as it is home.
--------------------------
As the modern architecture was in view, she felt a small lump in her throat. It happens every time she came to visit. It was that wave of nostalgia that is begging for her to be hit. The view in front of her, was different than what she remembers a decade ago, maybe two decades ago.
It was wooden before, as it was modernized once more. Every part of the area was scanned as a memory appear, reminding her how life used to be. Happiness, screams that followed in between and the nastiness of junk food can be seen throughout the area.
She was greeted with a familiar face, her grandmother. Alice Valentine, who has been crushed into a hug by the kids. Bryce steps forward and pulled her into a hug too, as the scent of chocolate chip cookies can be smell from afar making the kids jumping in joy.
‘Who wants the best chocolate chip cookies??’ Grandma Alice says in joy, as the three of them yelled simultaneously with huge grins that made the parents smile too.
After the commotion was over, Bryce noticed the stiffen atmosphere around Casey. She has been seen zoning out as they arrived, and he knows that particular look. The look where she is almost on the edge. Bryce took her hand in his, and said.
‘Hey, it’s gonna be alright okay?’
Casey wipes the tears that had managed to accidentally fall, and nods giving his hand a squeeze. The parents started to unload the stuff, as they started the short getaway together.
The day went well, as Alice and Casey teaches the whole family on how to make chocolate chip cookies from scratch. It ended up with a huge success, as the cookies came out perfectly even from Bryce which earns a surprise look from Casey. Afterwards, they ended up walking together around the small town, for dinner supplies which is a tradition in Casey’s family.
The house was quiet, as Casey and Bryce put the kids to bed. They decided to hang out and enjoyed each other’s company that night where they bumped into Alice, Casey’s grandmother who is fetching her night medication.
‘Casey honey, Bryce. Come, let’s chat. I have been busy with the kids and haven’t gotten the chance to check in with the both of you.’ She gestures on the couch as the couple made their way over there.
As they all were seated, Grandma Alice scoots forward and took their hands into hers giving it a squeeze.
‘How are you both? How is the family doing and everything?’
Casey smiles at the question, as she let both of their hands go.
‘We are doing great, the hospital been quite busy and with the kids too…’
‘It can be a lot, but we enjoyed a challenge!’ Bryce continues her sentences as he place an arm around her.
‘How are you Gran? I am so sorry we haven’t came sooner, our schedules were packed and I literally begged mom to watch the house for us to leave..’ Her reply earned a small laughter from the elder.
‘I have been okay, did some groceries, water the plants and the usuals! When your mom called me about your upcoming visit, I was ecstatic! I missed the kids, and playing with them once more add ten years of my lifespan.’ She said, as her gaze dropped onto the small whispers in the other room where the kids were found whispering among themselves, a smile tugged on their faces.
‘I missed your cooking gran, especially the homemade stew and the cookies, nobody could make em like you did.’ Bryce compliments earning an eye-roll from Casey as Alice laugh in delight.
‘Well, I can packed some for you to bring back home yes?’
Bryce nods enthusiastically earning a shoulder punch from Casey, who smiles at his frown. Alice looked at them and smile, somehow reminiscing an old memory.
‘Grand, you okay?’ Casey scoots forward, and held her hand somehow warm in her touch.
Her eyes were closed, as a smile appears on the corner of her mouth. In a split second, she opened it once more, somehow teary and the happiness were still visible on her face.
‘I am okay, seeing the both of you; reminds me of your grandfather. Fun and bright just like your husband there, and somehow, seeing both of you here. Reminds me of our fondest memories…’ She stood up and came back a few moments later with a medium sized box in her arms. Both of them stood up, and held her, as Bryce took the box from her hands.
They all sat down once more, as curiosity fills their mind especially Casey’s at the sight of the box.
‘What is this grand?’ She gestures onto the box, as Bryce scoots forward aswell.
Alice smiles, as she unlocks it. It was filled with pictures, trinkets, a few visible letters and a plated straw hat that Alice immediately holds in her hands. She traces the lines and texture of the hat, somehow visible tears could be seen.
‘This was his, he would wore it everytime we go out. I thought it was an embarrassing gesture as he would walk on this world with that beautiful smile of his…’ She passed the hat to Casey. She took it and held it, somehow felt like it was a treasure.
‘This was his favorite, I remembered when he would take me on his bike rides. He would wear it with his beach shirts and we would eat at the crack of dawn…’ The tears starts to flow in her eyes, as Bryce scoots on to rub her shoulders.
‘Y’know Bryce, if he was still here… he would loved you. I think he already has.’ Alice said with a smile on her face, as she took out some of the trinkets from the box, bringing back all kind of memories for both Casey and Alice.
‘Based on the stories Casey told me about him, I think the feeling is going to be mutual Mr.s Valentine.’ Bryce smiles as he takes a look at the pictures, and stop at one in particular which is a pic of baby Casey in her grandfather’s arms.
‘You look very cute Cas.’ Bryce presented the photo to her, and a smile appeared on her face despite the tears that kept on flowing.
‘I am a cute baby after all, right grand?’ Alice laughs at the statement, before answering.
‘Between you and Dan, I think both of you are equal. I love my grandkids too much to pick in between them.’ Alice replies, earning a stifled of laughter from Bryce, as Casey pouts from the answer.
They sat there looking at old memories for a while, until the clock finally strucks at midnight earning a look of surprise from the three of them.
‘I can’t believe its already midnight..’ Casey states in disbelief, as she held onto some more memories.
‘Your grandfather would still be awake at this time, screaming and yelling at the television over soccer. Ah, good times.’ Alice states one more, as they started to tidy up the mess.
After a few minutes, they were done. Before she had a chance to stood up, Alice passes her a brown envelope with cursive writing onto it.
‘This is…a letter from your grandfather years ago. We did do the same for your mom too, why not for our favorite grandchild too? We gave Dan, his letter already. But, we kept yours as he wanted to give it to you after you graduated med-school. We planned to surprise you during your first day of residency; but… his life was cut short. But, now… it seems to be a good time for you to have it.’ She gestures at the envelope, as Casey pulls her into a hug.
Bryce stood there smiling upon the scene, before he was pulled too into the hug by Alice herself. The three of them hugged for a while, and let go as the both Casey and Alice’s eyes were watery from all the emotional turmoil of the day. It was a tiring end for a day, but it was worth it.
---------------------------
The walls were cream, as the 5th paper was crumpled once more followed by a groan by a young man who is in his 30s.
‘James, that’s the 5th paper today. What’s wrong?’ Alice asked, as she made her way to the study area of her husband.
‘I wanted to write something good for Casey, dear. I already wrote for Dan, and everytime I start… it seems to get worst.’ He rubs his temple as Alice massages his shoulders slowly as a hint for some rest.
‘You are a story teller dear, just write anything you can think of. It will make sense on paper, I promise.’ She gives him a kiss on the cheek before moving onto the daily tasks leaving him with his thoughts.
A smile appear on his face, as he starts scribbling through the day. It ended with a satisfied look on his face, as he reread it once more; a small practice for him to read it to her dear granddaughter one day.
-------------------------
Casey was awake at 3 a.m. as she couldn’t sleep, somehow the thought of the letter kept her awake. She decides to give in, and took the letter in her hands. She made her way to the balcony of their bedroom, and took a seat on the wooden floors. Western Red Cedar, a small callback to her childhood.
The wind was blowing, as she shivers in the night. She took a deep breath, before tearing the small envelope with delicate movements. Her hands is shaking at the moment, fear overcoming her as the words were written somewhat visible to her vision.
A deep breath was taken once more, before she starts reading it. A vision of himself rereading it can be seen through her subconscious.
My dearest Casey,
I remember the day, your parents told us about your arrival. We were over the moon; we were excited to meet another grandchild of ours and I was surprised that we were announced of a baby girl. Your mother was our lucky shot for a girl, as all of our children were boys. I was ecstatic, and I remember calling your mother every day; asking everything about you. Before you were born, we knew you were going to be an amazing human being, a beautiful daughter indeed.
There was a story I wrote before, about a pair of siblings on an adventure. It somehow reminded me of you and our Daniel. We had watched you both grown into your phases and, I am very lucky to watch you grow from your first step to your first full meal. One day, I would love to show you more of my stories. All the worlds I created in, as you would live in this world with all the joy and happiness.
We never know what the future will hold, but I promise. I am there with you, when you are happy, scared, lonely, sad and even during your lowest point. Life as a story-teller teaches me, somehow the stories we wrote are a reflection of who we are, and when I looked into those emerald eyes of yours. I saw a million of stories in one that is waiting to be written in the future. I am excited to watch you grow into the amazing woman you were meant to be.
Lots of love,
Grandpa James Valentine.
She felt herself tear up as she reached towards the end, as she traces the words on the letter. It felt like it was written a lifetime ago, as it brings back the memories from the past before. She folded the letter, as she found the familiar hat in her position once more. A pair of arms were felt hugged around her, as Bryce held onto her. The Lahela’s stood there into the night, as Casey continues to reminiscing the old times with the love of her life.
There was a time, she wonders how the world will look like, how life would turn up if any of these didn’t happened. She wonders what types of conversations she would have with her late grandfather, as they took a sip of cocoa during winter nights, but… she is grateful for the time and memories she had with him. She knows, she will see him again one day in another life.
THE END.

Love it Gone
Summary: Poly!Cashton want to make you feel better after a bad week. Title is based on Love it gone by Luke Bryan Words: Warnings: smut A/N: This is both for @myloverboyash and I because it’s only thursday and we’ve already had a week lol. Enjoy!
As the day comes to an end, you know that tears are bound to come out the minute you step foot out of the doors to your job. It was only Thursday, meaning you had three more days until a day off. Your boss finally let you go after asking you to do a million things past your actual job description, adding more stress and anxiety to the bubbling feeling in your stomach.
“Alright see you tomorrow.” You wave her off and walk to the door, grabbing your stuff and clocking out. The drive home is exactly as you expected it, tears and light sobs filling the silence in the car and all you want is to get home to get into bed and sleep for the rest of the day.
They’re sitting in the patio when you open the gate and walk in, both in black jeans and no shirts on. Michael and Luke over too, but they all go quiet when they notice you don’t say anything.
“Hey.” You mumble and walk past them, leaving them to look at each other. They tell the other two that it’s time for them to go, and then go up to follow you.
“Doll?” Ashton asks as he opens the door, Calum right behind him. You’re in your bedroom, hugging the pillow that smells like the both of them tightly as you sob.
“Baby? What’s wrong?” It’s Calums voice this time. You feel the bed dip on both sides and feel their hands on you, rubbing your back in the spots where they can feel the knots.
“Long day.” You mumble through sniffles. They lay on either side of you, their hands never leaving your body.
“What do you need, love?” “What can we do for you?” They both ask at the same time, and you giggle a little. You wonder what you did right in this life to deserve these two men that take such good care of you.
“Dunno.” It dawns on you that they would do anything for you, but you don’t always voice to them what you would like. You know them hugging you and comforting would help.
“Up, both of you.” Ashton orders as he jumps out of the bed, pulling you with him. He leads the three of you into his master bedroom and sits you on the giant bed in the middle of the room.
“Let us take care of you, yeah?” He kisses your cheek, his hands on your thighs as Calum follows suit with his own hands reaching the hem of your shirt. “You know we just want you to feel better.” You nod and both boys leave your side, a small whine coming from you.
“Don’t worry doll, we’ll get there.” Ashton smirks and you gulp as Calum laughs. You’re told to put something comfortable on then go back to the living room.
“So that’s where all of our hoodies go.” Calum muses as he watches you throw on his green empathy hoodie.
“Oh! And my sweats too?” Ashton watches as you pull up the grey sweats that belong to him. “Your clothes are comfy, okay.” You shrug and they smile “Plus it smells like you guys.”
They ask what you would like to eat, making sure that one of them is sitting next to you as they walk around the house.
After dinner, you sit in the living room and watch Ashton take a bottle of wine up the stairs with him, and you know that he is setting up the bath. Calum moves to rub on your back and you groan slightly, the tensed muscles screaming at you.
“Take the hoodie off.” He has you lay on the floor on your stomach, unclipping your bra as he rubs your back, moans coming from you as the tension is released. After a couple minutes, your body feels light and relaxed, Calum’s hands just roaming as his lips kiss down your spine.
“Guys!” Ashton yells from the stairs and Calum turns you around, his lips on your neck instantly as he kneads your breasts and you moan again. He makes it down your waist with wet kisses, his hands on the hem of the sweats, pulling them down with your panties in one move.
“Cal, please.” You sigh, but are interrupted as Ashton yells to go upstairs.
He hums as you pull on the blonde curls. “Let's go upstairs before he yells at us again.” Calum smirks and picks you up, your legs wrapping around his waist. There is a smile on his face as he sees how relaxed and pliant you look, relief washing over him because he’s managed to make you smile and feel somewhat better.
“Why is she naked already?” Ashton asks as his eyes scan your body up and down when Calum puts you down, biting his lip when you shudder under his stare.
“Back rub, babe.” Calum kisses his cheek and pulls you towards the bed
“Ah, good.” Ashton returns the kiss and it makes you smile how cute they are with each other.
“In you go.” They make sure that the water is nice and hot, filling it with lavender and orange oils to make you feel more relaxed. Ashton rubs your arm as he sits on the right side of you while Calum is on the other side, his hands on your hair. They wash your hair and your body, their calloused fingers feeling rough to your soft skin. Ashton hands you a glass as the three of you sit and enjoy the silence.
“What happened today?” Calum asks and you shrug as you sip the wine, not wanting to talk about anything because you just wanted to relax.
“Not gonna talk about it? At all?” Ashton asks again, trying to see if they could get to say anything. You don’t say anything, and they don’t pry anymore.
“Okay, waters getting cold. Out please.” Ashton laughs at the way you speak in short sentences, but he understands that after the back rub and bath, you’re now ready for bed. He dries your body off and then wraps you in a big towel and you gasp when you walk back into the bedroom. The canopy on the bed has been open and they’ve lit the candles and small lights around the room, accordion doors are open and the moon is shining in.
“Come here, doll.” Calum leads you to the bed and undoes the towel, your body in goosebumps at the light breeze. They take their time in caressing your damp skin, moving you to the center of the bed as they kiss all over.
“Not fair I’m the only naked one.” They chuckle and remove their shirts, your hands instantly searching for skin to touch on.
“Ash.” You moan as he starts to place kisses down your body, Calum moving so your head rests on his thigh. Ashton looks up at you before he spreads your legs apart, his lips on your clit instantly. Your hips thrust up and he smirks, holding you down.
“No no, this is about you feeling good.” Calum moves your hand away when you palm him through his boxers.
“But I want to. Please?” You ask and he nods, his lips caught between his teeth as you move your hand to him again. He grunts as you squeeze on him, his hands on your boobs again.
“Can you come for me love?” Ashton asks as he inserts a finger, moving it so he can find the spot that drives you crazy. Once he notices you tense up, he moves his thumb to rub your clit until you moan out his name and squeeze tight on Calum. He moves up to kiss you, and you wrap your hand around him.
“Want you.” You whisper and he moves your hand, sliding his boxers down and lining himself up with your core. Your hands have moved from Calum to Ashton’s back, but he doesn't mind. Ashton thrusts deep and slow, your head falling back on the pillow and back arching on the bed, It doesn’t take long before he’s set a steady rhythm and you’re writhing underneath him.
“Almost there.” He whispers in your ear, and you clench around him a couple times as he comes inside you, burying his face in the crook of your neck.
“You didn’t come.” He questions as he pulls out and you sigh, sitting up to be on Calum’s lap.
“Came on your fingers, Cal’s turn.” You smile up at him and Ashton moans at the sight of you on him. You wrap your arms around his neck and kiss his lips, his hand moving his boxers down and helping you sink down on him. Your head falls back as your hips move steadily, building a slow rhythm for the both of you .
“Fuck.” He groans as you use his shoulders for support. Ashton is hard again as he sits next to the both of you, your hand moving to squeeze him as he groans as well.
“Gonna come.” You warn them as Ashton moves your hand and strokes himself, moving at the same rhythm you have on your hips on Calum.
“Oh fuck.” You groan and lean your forehead on Calum’s shoulder, feeling him still inside of you and curse as well. Ashton moans next you as he spills on his hands.
The three of you sit still for a moment before he gets up and comes back with a shirt of his and a pair of Calum’s boxers.
After cleaning up, the three of you lay on the bed with you in the middle. “I love you, both of you.” You whisper and squeeze their hands on you.
“We know baby, we love you too.” Ashton kisses your cheek while Calum hugs you tighter to him, helping in lulling you to sleep.

Sanguine I Mafia
Genre: Mafia AU Warnings: dark themes Word Count: 3k ANON Ask: Hi I really LOVE your writing and I’d like to request the reader in the nct mafia series gets in some trouble with another company. Serious trouble. But on accident. So the boys have to really work something out to get her back – I’ve taken the idea and done a little series, hope you like it <3 Summary: You were a second year med student taken in by the house of NCT. It’s not uncommon to be the last to learn things within the house but when your safety is threatened, your forced to leave home with no option. But it only makes things worse.
****
Waking up to a loud racket in the morning was nothing new or surprising for you. After moving in, the rarity of having a silent morning was priceless and you could only dream of those days. However, for this Thursday morning, waking up so late in the morning was a disaster, finding out you’re running late to your morning lecture wasn’t what you were expecting. As a second year med student, suggested by yours truly, Qian Kun, you were crushed by the weight of content, leading to late study nights and hectic schedules.
When you were first bought in, you were still a first year student, confused in what course direction to take, what your interests were, and your own capability. As you got comfortable within the house while your first year ended, Kun suggested going into medical school, noticing your attention to detail and caring nature. Lucky for you, your studies were never an issue and getting in proved no difficulty.
Your bedside clock given as a gift from Doyoung (because your always late), showed 8:02am, 28 minutes before it starts. Quickly jumping out of bed you ran to your bathroom, brushing through the knots that had formed in your hair overnight and taking a shower. After getting dressed and grabbing your phone and bag you ran downstairs to grab a snack before leaving. Surprisingly the house seemed strangely quiet for an early morning. A few of the boys slept in during the mornings, somehow managing to sleep though the heavy noise, but majority would be up and about by now.
You sneaked a peak into the living room while grabbing an apple from the fridge, seeing the absence of people. You grabbed your usual set of keys from the row of hooks at the entrance to the garage, noticing most of the car keys were missing but too late to think deeply into it. You ran over to your favourite car within the garage and threw your backpack onto the passenger seat beside you before starting the engine and driving as fast as you could to your class.
Arriving 5minutes after the lecture started, you sneak in through the back door hoping no one would notice you. Obviously with your luck, the class happened to be completely silent when you entered and the sound of the door creaking open caught everyone’s attention. You mumbled a small apology to the lecturer who didn’t bother to acknowledge your presence and continued with his talk. You settle into your seat and pull out your laptop and begin typing away as he talks.
Almost halfway through your lecture your phone buzzes. You ignore the initial vibration felt from the phone on your desk, too immersed in typing as your lecturer continues talking without bothering to slow down. However, as soon as the continuous texts popped through, the students around you were starting to give you looks and you had no choice but to answer to your phone. You glance at the screen noticing the texts from Jaehyun.
Jaehyun: Where are you?
Jaehyun: Y/N?
Jaehyun: Y/N? Answer me.
Y/N: In a lecture, something up?
You see the three little dots typing through the screen for a minute, then disappearing, and then reappearing.
Jaehyun: No, have fun and stay safe.
Not bothering with it too much, you placed your phone in your bag this time, and tried to catch up to what the lecturer was explaining. When the digital clock above the board showed 10am, the lecturer began piling up his paperwork, and dismissed the class.
Normally you’d find the Dream group who would be roaming around the campus around the same time as you had your lunch break. The 2000s line were first year students due to their part time commitment as students. They balanced life at home with training and missions while also completing a normal life – forced upon by Taeyong. You made your way over to the tables under the shaded trees and pulled out your phone to pass time. It was almost 10:30 when you realised there was still no one here.
You pull up the group chat you had for the bunch of you who attended college; Renjun, Haechan, Jeno, Jaemin and you.
Y/N: Did you guys all ditch today?
Haechan: We got held back at home
Y/N: You’re at home?
Haechan: Yeah
Y/N: It was so quiet this morning though, I thought no one was home.
Haechan: Big meeting today
Y/N: Guess I’m spending lunch alone
Jaemin: Go make some new friends
Jaemin: Girl-friends only
Y/N: :(
You hum to yourself, putting in your earphones and grabbing your drawing pad along with a pen. The time passes rather quickly as you sketch out the trees in your view, the figures of people passing by, the group of friends gathered on the lawn. The music abruptly stops and you look at your phone, confused at the interruption. You notice the call coming through and pull out your earphones to place the phone against your ear.
“Hello?”
“Hey can you come to the car?”
“My car?” You ask, confused.
“Yeah, I’m at your car.”
“Okay, give me a few minutes.” You tell him, hanging up to gather all your belongings.
You notice the familiar car parked next to your own car and your face crinkles up confused at the unannounced visit from Lucas coming to your campus. Lucas stands leaning against the bumper of his car, staring at his phone not seeing you approach him.
“Hey what are you doing here?” You ask,
“I’m picking you up.” He simply states, putting his phone in his pocket and taking your laptop and textbooks from your grasp.
“I drove though.” You tell him.
“I know, one of the guys will get your car,” he says, motioning to the passenger side of his car for you to get in as he places your stuff in the back seat and opens the door on the driver’s side for himself.
“What’s going on?” You ask, closing the door before your fighting with your seatbelt strap to pull over your shoulder.
“We’re going on a vacation.” Lucas replies, leaning over to help you with your seatbelt. You lean back against your seat as he fumbles with it for a second and then buckles you in.
“Thanks, and I don’t know if you’ve realised but I still have lectures to attend tomorrow.” You tell him.
“Jaehyun handled them already.” He tells you.
“What do you mean?” You ask, starting to get concerned with the sudden situation. “Lucas what’s going on?” you ask again.
“Call Jaehyun, it’s better he tells you,” Lucas says, letting out a sigh as he pushes the gear stick into drive. You pull out your phone and dial his number, being sent straight into voicemail. You try again while Lucas watches, waiting for a response as well.
“He isn’t answering.”
“Try Taeyong.” He tells you. You click onto your speed dial for 1, calling Taeyong immediately. The phone rings for a few seconds and as your about to give up, he answers.
“Hello?”
“Hey princess what’s up?”
“Jaehyun didn’t pick up his phone and what’s with this sudden vacation? I still have classes to attend.”
“I’ve put your application on defer for now.”
“You did what?!” You yell into the phone. Lucas flinches from your sudden raise in voice.
“Sorry I should’ve talked about this with you.” You hear Taeyong sigh through the other end.
“Yeah, obviously. I’m not going on vacation or whatever this crap is Tae, I’m going back to class tomorrow.”
“Y/N things aren’t going very well recently and I need you to get away from everyone so your safe.”
“I don’t care about that, since when did you have a say in my education and what I do?!” You yell, “I’ll move in with a friend if I have to but I’m not leaving.”
“Sorry Y/N but I can’t let you do that, please just go with Lucas for now okay? I’m busy at the moment so I’ll call you back later.” He states, hanging up before anyone has a chance to say more.
Little did you know, the meeting that occurred earlier in the day was to discuss the current situation with enemy plans and events that have recently been going on. The members had been taking turns following you secretly to classes or trying to accompany you wherever you went without you realising it. Taeyong had been receiving threats lately regarding the entire NCT and the safety of the members. When someone sent an anonymous email to him containing images taken of you doing your daily activities outside of the house he decided it was time to separate you from the group.
Much to many of the members disliking of being separated and out of site, you were in danger to be living with them in this current situation. You leaving the city was planned last minute today and was agreed upon by majority in the meeting. Doyoung and Lucas had packed all your essentials within a few minutes before Lucas left to pick you up, leading you to where you were now. Your safety had been left in the hands of Lucas, unfortunately. Not saying that you were on bad terms with Lucas but more of his reliability seemed to be questionable.
Lucas on the other hand was even more miserable than you. The problem of babysitting you while being separated from all the action back home and being stuck inside a hotel would kill him of boredom.
The car ride was mostly silent, Lucas trying to change through the music playing and then being interrupted by phone calls coming through. He connected them to his in ear Bluetooth, trying to avoid you from hearing about the business projects he was dealing with. You rotated between sleeping and scrolling through social media for the car ride. Eventually as night falls, he pulls into a hotel within a small town. The two of you get out the car and he goes in ahead of you, tossing the keys to you while he susses it out.
The front desk lady had placed a pair of keys on the counter bench when you walked in the front door. You could see Lucas was running a hand through his hair – a habit he did when he was frustrated - when you approach him.
“What happened? Did you place a reservation?” You ask Lucas as he dials Jaehyun.
“The guys did, Jaehyun gave me the address for this place.”
“What’s the problem then?” You question, confused.
“Why did you book only one room and there’s only one bed?” Lucas complains into the phone. As soon as Lucas mentions one room you go blank. Sharing a bed wasn’t an issue for either of you, considering you’d had frequent movie nights with him which you ended up sleeping there instead of returning to your room. The problem is his sleeping habits. They want me to share a room with this loudass? How am I meant to sleep through his snoring? Your head was running through a billion problems and you were bought back into reality just as Lucas was about to hang up.
“Jaehyun what is this?” You ask, motioning for the phone from Lucas.
“Hey baby how are you?”
“Great. A little frustrated but you know, nothing new.” You tell him sarcastically.
“Yeah I know, sorry everything was too sudden for you.”
You sigh into the phone, knowing that you shouldn’t be taking your feelings out on him, “Yeah.”
“It’ll be over soon,” He says, comforting you through the phone.
“Okay,” you mumble, “Lucas and I are checking in now, be careful okay?”
“Yeah you too.” He replies, just as you end the call and hand the phone back to Lucas.
Lucas takes the keys on the counter and the two of you head back to the car to bring your belongings up. The room was simple. A large king sized bed and a TV in its direct line of sight. The bathroom connected near the entrance in a separate area and a little study desk and lamp. A little couch at the far end near the curtains covering the sight of a balcony.
“I’m going to shower first.” You tell him, searching for your pyjamas.
“Don’t be so slow, I’m tired.” He complains.
“Says the boy who spends 20minutes in there.” You shoot him a glare and he smiles at you blinking his eyes with innocence. “Also who packed my suitcase, where’s my pjs?”
“Doyoung and I did, don’t know if we packed pjs though..” he trails off. He pushes himself up from the couch and flips through his bag. He pulls out a plain white shirt and throws it across the room to you, “Wear this.”
“Is it clean?” You ask, holding it with the tips of your fingers. His hygiene routine isn’t classified as one of the best within the group and you feared he had given you a sweaty one.
“Obviously.” You give him a suspicious look and gather your night time things, heading into the bathroom. You strip down and step slowly into the tub, turning the water on high and letting it beat over your head as the steam begins to fog up the mirror. Closing your eyes, the heat of the water soaks into your skin and you lean against the cool tiles, exhausted at the day of events.
After you’ve washed shampoo and conditioner through your hair, you turn the tap off, squeezing out the water with your hands into the tub before stepping out. The towel hangs from the door hook and your easily able to grab it without getting the floor wet. You quickly dry yourself off and chuck on a bra, undies and Lucas’ white shirt. You wrap the towel around your hair as you step out and the temperature difference of the rooms immediately causes you to shiver.
“You can go now.” You tell Lucas, jumping straight under the covers of the bed. He hums in response, throwing you the TV remote while he disappears. You lean up against the bed board and flick through the channels, finally deciding to just turn it off instead when nothing seems interesting just as your phone beeps.
Johnny: Hey Princess are you still awake?
Y/N: Yeah, how is everyone?
Johnny: Everyone’s okay, there’s a training session going on at the moment so they’re all a bit busy
Y/N: Ahh okay.
Your debating whether you should ask about Taeyong, regretting yelling at him earlier and knowing he was only trying to keep you safe.
Y/N: Is Taeyong mad at me?
Johnny: He’s not mad, just a little stressed is all.
Johnny: Don’t worry about it.
Y/N: Okay
Johnny: Go to sleep now, it’s getting late, you and Lucas still have to keep driving tomorrow.
Y/N: I will, goodnight.
Johnny: Night <3.
Just as you shut your bedside light, Lucas walks out the bathroom shirtless, ruffling his hair with the towel and eyes glued to his phone.
“You’re not sleeping on the couch?” He asks, glancing over at you.
“Me?” You question.
“Well I’m too tall to fit and besides, I’ve been driving all day and I’ll be driving all day tomorrow.” He states, pulling the sheets down on the other side.
“Do you know how many bedbugs are on that couch?” You ask before answering it yourself, “too many.”
“Just don’t kick me throughout the night like last time.” He warns you, flipping over to his side.
“Wow you’re so terrifying.” You mumble, crawling more towards your side of the bed. “Don’t snore like your Santa Claus okay?” You remind him.
Lucas obviously ignored your warning as he snores throughout the night. You let out a groan as you sit up and push him over, tossing him more towards his side of the bed. He stops snoring momentarily and then it starts again after a few minutes of peaceful silence. Are you kidding me. You do your best to just ignore him and fold the pillow against your ear, making the sound as quiet as possible. Your phone rings just as you feel like you’re finally falling into sleep and you cry in frustration, rolling over to reach it and pick up, not looking at the caller ID.
“Hey baby, how have you been?” The deeper voice asks.
“Sorry, do I know you?” You mumble, still asleep in your state.
“Ouch, that hurts, how could you say that to your lover.”
You open your eyes, squinting at the light of the unknown number on your phone screen. “Sorry I think you’ve got the wrong number.”
“Do I really? I swear this was the number for Miss Y/N, the beautiful lady who happens to be living with one of the desired Mafia gangs.” You stayed silent through the phone, immediately sitting up, obviously this guy knew who you were and your relation to the boys. You glance at Lucas whose still asleep and your feet search for your slippers. Quietly you tip toe out to the hallway, leaving a gap in the door behind you. “If I’ve still got the wrong number feel free to hang up, I’ll continue chatting with the so notorious leader who happens to be knocked unconscious.”
“WAIT!” You whisper into the phone,
“Hm?”
“Wh-what do you want?” You hesitatingly ask.
“That’s what I thought.” He laughs. “Now I know you aren’t alone baby, so is anyone listening to us?”
“No.”
“Good girl.” He hums before continuing “I want you to come home.”
“What?”
“Come home, alone.” He says, “and remember to keep this a secret, or it might be bad for the present I have for you. I’ll be waiting.”

Chapter 1: Haunted Library
A school project brings you to the library and you meet a girl that ruins changes your life.
WC: 2.5k
TW: Blood, fire, a bit of cursing
“Even scientists don’t know what happened to the wildlife within the woods. Many have started to speculate that this is the fault of mages.”
“I can’t think of anything else it could be!” The man on the left lets out a laugh that’s as fake as the greenscreen background. “I mean, what else could explain grass and trees turning grey?”
“Maybe chemicals, Tadashi.”
“Oh. Yeah, maybe that’s it.”
You turn the TV off and set the remote down. These people are supposed to be reporters, not theorists with too much time on their hands.
But you don’t have time to worry about that. The clock tells you that school starts in twenty minutes and you’re supposed to be meeting Midoriya by the station in five.
You mentally run through everything you’ll have to finish today; study for those tests tomorrow, contact that kid you need to tutor, do your homework, and you’d have to work some more on that English project.
You desperately needed a nap, but your teachers had other plans.
You sling your bag over your shoulder and open the door, getting hit by a blast of air that’s much colder than you thought it’d be. You grab a jacket as quickly as you can and hurry down the street.
The morning is cool, the autumn leaves being lifted by the soft caress of the wind. The sky is cloudy, but the sun peeks just behind the puffy clouds as a promise to see you once again in only a few hours. The streaks of blue that stain the sad greys in the sky make you smile.
You hear your name. “Good morning!”
The first thing you notice about him will always be his hair. Naturally green and always messy, as if he just rolled out of bed (considering his schedule lately, he might just have). It brings out his eyes and the splash of freckles that paint his cheeks.
“Good morning, ‘Zuku.”
“You came a bit later than you usually do…” He points out. “Is everything alright?”
“Yeah, I just got distracted by the news.”
“Oh! Anything interesting?”
“They were talking about ‘wildlife turning grey’. I bet it was just some chemicals or something like that.” He nods his head excitedly.
“Whoa, I haven’t heard of that! What else did the reporters say?”
“Something about it being the fault of mages. But they were speculating and hopefully just joking… Can you believe it?” He laughs and shakes his head.
The school campus welcomes you both and keeps you sheltered from the frigid wind that howls outside. The halls are familiar, yet still manage to be disappointingly plain. There are only a few people here, waiting outside their classrooms for their teachers to arrive or to be let inside.
When you and Midoriya step inside, you’re greeted by the ever so familiar faces of your classmates. Momo is trying to help Kaminari, Mina and Jiro are listening to music, Bakugo is yelling at an indifferent Todoroki - So, all in all, it’s a regular morning.
You haven’t known these people as long as you’ve known Deku and Bakugo, but they still know exactly how to bring a smile to your face.
“Did you choose the topic?” You ask.
“I chose vampires,” Deku says. “But if you don’t like it, then we could always do something different, you know? I was just interested in them and how they evolved in literature with time.”
“Relax, ‘Zuku. I don’t mind. I’m actually kinda glad.”
“You are?”
“Yeah! At least it isn’t boring. Plus, I honestly have no idea what else we could choose.” You admit. He laughs a little bit.
“Well, I’m glad you like it! I was thinking we could start by reading and analyzing Dracula. That was the book that really brought vampires into the public eye.”
You can’t help but admire how much he already knows. “Maybe we could stop by the public library tonight?”
“Oh yeah! We could go there on the way home.” He scribbles it down in his prized notebook and he taps the pencil against his lip. “Do you have any ideas for books we could read next?”
“Other than Twilight? No.” His face drops when you say that and you laugh. “I’m only kidding! Sort of.”
“What was that?”
“Nothing!”
“Good morning, students.” The voice of the principal crackles through the speaker. “Today is October Third-”
Deku hits his forehead.
“I completely forgot about that,” He groans. “I don’t think I’ll be able to walk home with you tonight.”
You blink. That’s… never happened before.
“Wait, what? Why?” You whisper. Professor Aizawa is watching you and you shift uncomfortably under his disappointed gaze.
“I have… a club meeting.”
“Huh. Okay.” Did Izuku ever mention signing up for a club? “I’ll be sure to grab you a copy of Dracula too. I can drop it off at your apartment.”
“Thanks.” He smiles a bit. “I’m sorry!”
“It’s fine, so don’t worry about it!” You insist. Your smile doesn’t quite reach your eyes.
Izuku doesn’t notice.
When the day ends, you wait by the wise, old tree that bends down to kiss the skin of the earth. You stand there for five minutes before it hits you.
He has a club meeting. Right.
You internally kick yourself and bid the tree farewell. The wind strikes the branches and causes them to shake as if it is saying goodbye to you as well.
The more you think about it, the clearer it becomes that Midoriya never mentioned a club or an after school program. He often told you what he signed up for and if he had plans to do something else. So why not this?
You shake your head, the leaves ghosting across the ground. You’re his friend, not his mom. If he doesn't want to tell you something, he doesn’t have to.
The path ends at the old library. The outside had yet to be polished the same way the inside was, so it looked less like a library and more like a haunted house, where ghosts drifted aimlessly between the shelves. The sign was missing a few letters and the wood looked like it could turn to splinters with a push that was just hard enough.
When you open the door, you’re greeted by the librarian and you wave to her before stepping inside. The lights make the place feel warm, even though there is no functioning heater. A few people are roaming around, others reading or typing away on their computers. The stairs are in the back of the room, and the classics section is on the second floor.
The section is empty. The other areas had one, maybe two people thumbing through the shelves. It feels strange to be alone, which makes the silence even more deafening.
You find the books that you need and hold them as gingerly as you can like you’re scared they’ll turn to dust if you apply just a little more force. Now, all you have to do is go to-
“Dracula, huh? Are you into that occult stuff?”
A voice. Right against your ear.
You leap away and hold the books to your chest. “I-I’m sorry?” You say as evenly as you can manage.
The girl looks innocent enough. Her light hair is drawn into two buns on both sides of her head and she has a wide smile on her face. She’s wearing a school uniform underneath an unbuttoned beige cardigan.
Even so, you can’t help but think her eyes are glinting with something other than joy.
“Oh, silly me!” She giggles. “I haven’t even introduced myself. My friends call me Toga.” She holds out a hand, her smile never faltering.
Her skin is so… pale. If you didn’t know better, you might’ve convinced yourself that you were talking to a ghost.
“Um… Nice to meet you.” You mumble, taking her hand and barely even shaking it. Her skin is cold, too. You give your name tentatively and pull your hand away. “If you’ll excuse me-”
“You’re really cute.”
You blink; once, twice.
“What?”
“You heard me, didn’t you? You’re adorable!” She giggles again. It feels like her stare is all over you, even though she hasn’t looked anywhere other than your eyes.
“Thank you, but I really must be going.” You insist.
“I have something to check out too! Why don’t we go together? That’d be fun, wouldn’t it?” Her eyes flash.
A hollow feeling settles into your stomach.
But your gut screams that saying no isn’t an option anymore.
So, you agree. It’s a tentative whisper that not even the walls could hear, but she does, loud and clear.
She perks up and laughs.
“Hooray!” She cheers, scooping up a random book from the shelves and dragging you along by your arm. Her grip is steel and her nails dig into your skin. You keep your mouth sealed, even if it hurts a little.
You look at what she’s wearing. There are no pockets in her skirt, and her cardigan is too thin to hide anything effectively, same with her blouse. There are no strange shaped lumps in her socks that go up to her knees.
So why were you so tense? Why are you afraid of this girl?
The last thing you wanted was to stick around long enough to find out.
“Are you walking home?” She sets her book right next to the self-checkout and doesn’t bother to scan it. You refuse to make eye contact with her, pretending to thumb through Dracula.
Should you lie? What if she saw right through you? If you said that you were walking home, would she follow you?
“I’m waiting for a friend.” As soon as the words escape your lips, your hands start to shake. You hide them behind the books.
“Oh, that’s great! I can wait with you!” She smiles with her teeth and you shrink away.
“Not at the library… We’re meeting at a spot that’s kind of far away. It was nice meeting you, though, Toga-”
“I don’t mind!”
You freeze.
“Excuse me?”
“I really like you, so I’ll wait with you!” Her smile widens somehow. “I can’t let someone as cute as you get away from me.”
Your heart is pounding and you can feel that bile in the back of your throat building up.
“I can wait on my own.” You insist. “I appreciate the offer, Toga, but I’d prefer to be by myself.”
Her smile melts away.
There is no anger on her face. No sadness, no envy or rage. Her expression is just… blank.
But then she laughs. A laugh that teeters on the edge of insanity and mayhem. A laugh that makes your skin crawl.
She sings your name ever so lightly, a soft twinkle in her eye that makes your stomach twist even more.
Her hand shoots out and snatches your arm, her nails breaking through your skin. Blood starts to seep out of the cut, but she doesn’t mind it at all.
Her eyes seem just a bit brighter than before.
“I wasn’t asking you, was I?” She says simply, her smile far too wide.
You pull your arm back. Her hold doesn’t give. You try to resist even further. She’s strong, stronger than what you ever could’ve guessed.
Toga leaves the library, with you in tow. Your arm feels like it could be ripped off at any second.
“Where are you waiting for your friend?”
You stammer out a place that you’re sure she won’t know about. She’ll let go of you eventually, right?
But all she does is laugh and change her direction.
You look around, trying to find someone, anyone nearby. If you cried out for help, no one would hear. You try moving away, you try fighting back, but you can’t - your efforts are fruitless and that panic is building up in your chest once again.
She sighs your name. “Your blood smells so good… Did you know that?”
You have half the mind to question how she can smell your blood before you’re yanked toward her.
Her mouth hovers just above your neck.
Are those... fangs in her mouth?
But you don’t feel any pain. Her teeth never even graze your neck.
Because there’s a shout. Words you can’t understand, words that don’t sound like they’re from any language. But they’re said with such intensity that it feels like you’re standing next to a raging inferno.
And, in the next moment, you are.
There’s fire.
Fire that engulfs Toga’s entire being. Fire that makes you feel like you’re inches away from Hell itself.
Fire coming from Midoriya’s hands.
You’re yanked out of the way.
His hands are scorching. It will most likely leave a mark. Yet, right now, you don’t find that you care.
What you’re really concerned with is that your best friend just set a girl on fire with nothing but his hands.
“Are you alright?” His eyes bore into yours, only inches apart. Heavy breaths fan your face.
“When did you- How-”
He ignores your stammers. “Stay behind me.”
Where Toga once stood, there is only thick, bitter smoke and the dying embers of the flames. It doesn’t seem like anything else is burning, strangely enough.
How is this possible? What is happening?
He starts speaking. The words are fluid and fast, one sound blending into the next.
A gust of wind comes from his hands. It blows away the smoke and reveals that there was no one there.
Toga is gone.
There are no ashes or anything of the sort. Just shoe-shaped imprints left in the dead grass. You’re still bleeding from where she scratched you, but you feel no pain. All you can focus on are the questions swirling around in your head. On the fact that Midoriya just did… whatever that was.
Faintly, you hear your name. Midoriya’s facing you, worry etched on his face.
“Did she bite you?”
You shake your head. “All she did was scratch me.” Your voice is barely a murmur and you show him your arm. He nods, inspecting the cuts.
“You’ll be fine. All they need are a few bandages.” He lets out a long sigh. “That was too close. Toga is getting out of control lately, and it’s not just her-”
“Deku.” The words come out harsher than you meant. He flinches and turns to you.
“Yes?”
“What the fuck just happened?”
This is probably the most self indulgent thing I've written yet! It was so much fun to do and I hope you had as much fun reading it as I did writing it! Remember to drink some water and I hope you have a great day! 💕
