Captain Satoru Gojou.
You had heard whispers of the infamous Captain Gojou for years. His name was spoken with fear in every port town along the coast. Some say he is invincible, that his ship, the Infinity, is the fastest to ever sail the seas. Others claimed he was dangerous, ruthless, and cunning—a man who showed no mercy to those he deemed too weak to survive in his world.
A few years back, a body washed up on the shore of Saltstone Port. The man, who was no older than twenty-five, had his eyes gouged out of his skull, and the number six was carved into the pale skin of his back.
The discovery shocked the quiet little town, but it would not be the last time a mutilated body washed up on the shores of Saltstone Port.
You don’t miss the stagnant air at Saltstone Port. The salty breeze, tinged with the scent of rotting fish and seaweed, clung to everything it touched. It was a place where tales of Captain Gojou’s cruelty were whispered in darkened alleys and over dimly lit tavern tables, the memory of that unfortunate soul with the number six forever haunting the minds of those who dared to speak of it.
As you stood at the edge of the small dock in Elysport, you stared out at the vast ocean. You had always wondered if there was something more beyond the horizon at Saltsone and Elysport. You had only moved to Elysport in the last few years; your father claimed that it was God’s will for you to move after the death of your beloved mother.
You were just ten years old when your mother vanished without a trace, disappearing one night after her shift at the tavern. It was as if the earth had swallowed her whole, leaving no sign of where she had gone or what might have happened. The days that followed were a blur of confusion and fear, the house feeling emptier than ever without her warm presence.
Your father was a broken man during the weeks your mother was missing. Each night, he would fall to his knees, clasping his hands in desperate prayer. His voice, once strong and filled with faith, now trembled as he pleaded with whatever higher power might be listening to bring his beloved wife back to him and his young daughter. He prayed until his voice was hoarse, until tears stained his cheeks until the candles had burned down to their wicks. He sought solace in his faith, but with each passing day, the weight of uncertainty grew heavier, casting a shadow over your home.
He searched tirelessly for answers, combing the streets and questioning anyone who might have seen her. But no matter how hard he looked or how many prayers he whispered, the silence was deafening. Your mother, the heart of your small family, had simply vanished, leaving behind only questions and a growing sense of dread.
Nine agonizing weeks later, your mother’s body was discovered in a small, rotting, long-abandoned boat that had been stranded on the beach for years. You only caught a brief, heart-wrenching glimpse of her before the smallfolk, who had loved her dearly, carried her away. The once beautiful features of her face had decayed beyond recognition, maggots crawling across what little flesh remained.
Your father was utterly broken by the loss. He couldn’t understand why God would allow such cruelty to befall his family. The woman he had vowed to cherish and grow old with was gone, leaving him consumed by grief and bitterness. He became distant, his once-steady faith shaken to its core. He could not understand who would do this to his wife—a kind-hearted tavern worker known for offering a warm meal to anyone in need. The only conclusion that made sense to him was that pirates were to blame. In his mind, they were the only people capable of such barbarism, convinced that only they would commit such a gruesome act against the mother of his child.
Your father has always been a devout Christian. He was a pastor at the local church when you lived in Saltstone Port. His sermons were filled with messages of mercy and compassion. He always insisted that no one was beyond salvation, preaching that even pirates can be redeemed in the eyes of God.
But after your mother’s death, everything changed. His grief and anger warped his perspective, changing his view of life and love. The man who once preached forgiveness now called for the public execution of pirates, believing their crimes deserved the worst punishment hell could offer. An obsession now consumed him—a kind man who once spoke of compassion whose life was forever darkened by the loss of the woman he loved.
You now found yourself in Elysport, a bustling coastal city where the line between law and lawlessness begins to blur. The city's horizon is filled with the estates of wealthy merchants and the Governor’s home, a stark contrast to the docks below. The docks are always crowded, constantly filled with ships from all around the world, their sails billowing in the wind as they unload goods from distant lands. The scent of exotic spices and the sounds of vibrant marketplaces fill the air, mingling with the salty tang of the nearby sea.
In Elysport, you worked as a clerk for a small merchant. Your days were spent tallying registries, managing shipments, and handling mundane trade details. But your nights were different. They were filled with dreams of adventure, of sailing beyond the horizon where the sea meets the sky. Stories of legendary pirates and hidden treasures had always fascinated you, sparking a curiosity you kept hidden behind your daily life. Yet, you never imagined that those stories might come crashing into your own life one day.
One evening, as you were closing up shop, an old man stumbled into the store. His appearance was startling, to say the least—his clothes were tattered, his face weathered, and his hair a tangled mess.
“Hello? Can I help you?” you called out from behind the counter, your voice slightly muffled by the shelves that obstructed you from view.
The man didn’t answer your question. Instead, his gaze darted around the shop, as if he was searching for anything suspicious that could get him in trouble.
“You there!” he rasped, his voice rough. “I need a place to hide this.”
Your curiosity piqued at his words, you stepped out from behind the counter and faced the strange man who had entered just before closing. You assumed he was another last-minute customer, probably looking to buy something or bargain for a better price, knowing how tired workers down by the docks could be at this hour.
You were curious but hesitant as you took the box from him. To your surprise, It was heavy for its size. The surface was adorned with intricate carvings, worn in places over time.
“What is this?” you asked, turning the box over to examine it more closely. The craftsmanship was remarkable, but there was something about it—something almost sinister.
The man watched you closely, his eyes never leaving your face. "It’s a map.” he said, "But not just any map. This map leads to something... powerful. Something that has been lost for centuries, tales of it told through generations of pirates, hidden away from those who would abuse its power."
You looked up at him, eyes wide and filled with curiosity. Why are you giving this to me?" you asked again, your voice trembling.
The man’s expression softened, a look of something almost like pity crossing his face. "Because you’re the one meant to find it," he said simply. "You’re the one who has been chosen."
"Chosen?" you whispered. "Chosen by whom? For what?"
The man smiled faintly, but there was a sadness in his eyes that made you uneasy. "You’ll understand in time," he said. "But know this: you must keep the map safe. Others would do anything to get their hands on it—dangerous people who won’t hesitate to kill for it."
Your breath caught in your throat at his words. You had always dreamed of sailing the seas looking for adeventure, but this... this… this was something else entirely. This was real, and it was dangerous.
You stared at him blankly, your mind racing as you tried to process the words the strange man had been saying. This was no ordinary treasure map. This was something that was hidden away for a reason.
"Why me?" you asked, your voice trembling. "Why would you trust me with something like this?"
The man’s eyes softened again, and he reached out to place a hand on your shoulder. "Because you’re different," he said quietly. "You have a strength in you that others don’t. You have a heart that won’t be easily swayed by greed or power. And most importantly... you have a destiny to fulfill."
His words hung in the air, heavy with meaning that you couldn’t fully grasp. You wanted to ask the strange man more, to demand answers to the questions swirling in your mind, but something in the man’s eyes told you that he had already said all he could.
"Keep the map safe," he repeated, his voice firm. "And trust your instincts."
Before you could say anything else, the man turned and walked out the door, disappearing into the darkness of the night. You stood there for a pregnant moment, the map clutched in your hands, your mind reeling from everything that had just happened.
You looked down at the map again, the tips of your fingers trace the markings, as if trying to unlock the secrets they hold. This was it. This was what you had always dreamed of, but it was also something far more dangerous, something that could get you killed.
You knew you couldn’t do this alone. You needed help, and there was only one place you could think of where you might find it.
The merchant’s ball.
It was an event you had never been invited to before—a grand affair where the city’s most powerful and influential figures gathered. But now, with the map, you knew you had to find a way in. You needed to find someone who could help you decipher it, someone who had the knowledge and connections to help you.
As the night of the ball approached, you found yourself growing more and more restless with each passing day. The very idea of the map’s existence gnawed at the back of your mind, its mysteries out of reach. The old man’s warning lingered in your mind, too—a treasure beyond your wildest dreams, but cursed. It was a puzzle you couldn’t solve on your own, and it only fueled your determination to get an invitation to the Merchant’s Ball.
But getting an invitation was easier said than done. The ball was exclusive, and the guest list was closely guarded. You knew you couldn’t simply walk in off the street, no matter how determined you were. You needed connections, and though you had some, they were weak connections at best. Your mind raced as you considered your options, running through the names of merchants and traders you had helped over the years. Some owed you favors, but whether those favors were enough to get you into the ball was another matter entirely.
You decided to start with a merchant you knew well—a grizzly man named Marcus, who had been in Elysport for decades. You had helped him with his inventory more than once, making sure that certain shipments went unnoticed by the authorities, and he had always been grateful for your help. You found him in his usual place, a small tavern near the docks.
“Marcus!” you greeted him with a smile as you approached his table.
He looked up, his weathered face breaking into a grin. “Ah, it’s you. Come to save me from my spending again?”
“Not this time,” you replied, taking a seat across from him. “I need a favor.”
His smile faded slightly, and he set down his flagon of ale. “A favor, eh? What kind of favor?”
You hesitated, choosing your words carefully. “I need an invitation to the Merchant’s Ball.”
Marcus leaned back in his chair, his eyebrows raised. “The ball? That’s a big favor, lass. Those invitations are hard to come by.”
“I know,” you admitted. “But I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.”
He studied you for a moment, his eyes searching your face. “What’s this about? You’re not one for fancy parties.”
You looked around the tavern, ensuring no one was listening, then leaned in closer. “I’ve come across something… valuable. But I need help deciphering it. The ball is my best chance to find someone who can.”
Marcus’s expression turned serious. “Something valuable, you say? What kind of valuable?”
“I can’t say too much,” you said, lowering your voice. “But it’s big, Marcus. If I can figure it out, it could change everything.”
He was silent for a moment, considering your words. Finally, he nodded. “All right. I can get you in. But you’ll owe me for this, understand?”
You nodded, a smile present on your face. “Thank you, Marcus. I won’t forget it.”
True to his word, Marcus got you an invitation, and the day of the ball soon arrived. You spent hours preparing, trying to calm the nervous flutter in your stomach. The dress you chose was simple yet elegant, a deep blue silk that flowed like water as you moved. You had never worn anything so fine before, and as you looked at yourself in the mirror, you barely recognized the woman staring back at you. But tonight wasn’t about appearances—it was about seizing an opportunity, about finding answers to the questions that had been plaguing your mind since that fateful night in the shop.
When the carriage finally arrived to take you to the Governor’s Palace, you felt a mixture of excitement and fear. The city seemed more alive than usual as you made your way through the cobblestone streets, the sounds of laughter and music drifting on the night air. As the palace came into view, its tall columns were bathed in the warm glow of hundreds of lanterns. The grandeur of it all was overwhelming and it was a far cry from the rough and weathered streets of Elysport that you were used to.
You clutched your invitation tight as you approached the entrance, the doorman barely glancing at it before stepping aside to let you pass. The moment you stepped inside, you were encompassed in a world of luxury, unlike anything you had ever seen. The foyer was vast with marble floors gleaming under the light of large crystal chandeliers. Ornate tapestries adorned the walls, depicting scenes of grand battles and lavish feasts. Servants moved about with precision, carrying trays of champagne and delicate hors d'oeuvres, while the guests—dressed in their finest silks and satins—murmuring amongst themselves, their laughter filling the air.
You followed the flow of people into the main ballroom, your heart pounding as you took in the sight before you. The room was massive, with tall, arched windows that offered a view of the moonlit gardens outside. The walls were painted in rich, warm tones, and the floor was a mosaic of polished marble that reflected the golden light of the chandeliers. Musicians played soft melodies in one corner, their music blending in seamlessly with the murmur of conversation.
For a moment, you hesitated, feeling out of place. You had never been in a setting like this, surrounded by wealth and power. But you squared your shoulders, reminding yourself of the reason you were here. You weren’t just a simple clerk from the docks anymore; tonight, you were a woman with a purpose, a secret map, and a mission.
The ballroom was extravagant, to say the least. It made you feel sick that only a select few could enjoy things like this without worrying when their next meal would be or if they would be able to afford basic necessities. But were you any better than these people? After all the only reason you’re here is because you have good connections, just like the people in this room.
As you look to your left, you notice the couples dancing around the floor, their conversations blending in with the soft music. It was all very odd, like a dream you didn't want to wake up from.
“Enjoying the festivities?” A smooth and confident voice interrupted your thoughts. You turned to see a tall figure standing just a few feet away, his face obscured by a mask similar to yours.
You felt a shiver run down your spine, though you couldn’t quite figure out why. There was something about him, something unsettling in the way he carried himself, in the way he seemed to command the space around him. His mask was pale, almost ghostly, with intricate blue patterns that drew your gaze.
“I suppose,” you replied, keeping your voice light, though the unease you felt was seeping into your words. “These sorts of events are always a bit... overwhelming.”
He chuckled softly, the sound rich and smooth, “Yes, they can be,” he agreed, taking a step closer, his eyes—bright and unnervingly blue—locked onto yours through the slits in his mask. “But they can also be... enlightening if you know where to look.”
You felt your heart skip a beat, your mind racing as you tried to understand his words. Was he just making conversation, or was there something more to his statement? You couldn’t tell, and that made you more on edge.
“Is that so?” you asked, forcing a smile as you took another sip of your champagne, trying to calm your nerves.
He nodded, his gaze never wavering. “Indeed. You’d be surprised what you can learn at a gathering like this, especially if you keep your eyes and ears open.”
There was something in the tone of his voice, something that made you think he wasn’t just talking about useless gossip or civil conversation, at something deeper, something more dangerous, and it set you on edge.
The two of you sat in silence for a brief moment.
“Do you come to these kinds of events often?” you asked, trying to change the topic of conversation, though you couldn’t shake the feeling that this man was anything but safe.
“From time to time,” he said with a shrug. “But tonight is special. Tonight, I’m here for something—someone—quite specific.”
Your breath caught in your throat and you felt a chill run down your spine. It was the way he said it, the way his eyes seemed to pierce through you like daggers, it was as if he knew exactly who you were and what you were here for.
But, that was impossible, you thought to yourself. You were just a clerk, a regular person caught up in something far beyond your understanding. There was no way he could know about the map, about the treasure. No one knew. No one except—
“Do I know you?” you asked, the question slipping out of your mouth before you could stop yourself.
His smile widened, though it didn’t reach his eyes. “Perhaps,” he said vaguely, his voice a low murmur that sent another shiver down your spine. “Or perhaps you’ll get to know me soon enough.”
Before you could respond, before you could even process his words, the doors to the ballroom burst open with a deafening boom. The music stopped abruptly, the room falling into shocked silence as everyone turned to see what happened.
A group of masked men stormed into the room, their swords drawn as they advanced on the crowd. Panic erupted, the guests screaming and scrambling to get away as the intruders began tearing through the ballroom, overturning tables, smashing glass, and sending the wealthy world of the Elysport elite into chaos.
You barely had time to react before you felt the man’s hand on your arm, pulling you toward the nearest exit. His grip was firm, his expression unreadable beneath the mask as he guided you through the panicked crowd, dodging the chaos that surrounded you.
“Stay close,” he ordered, his voice calm despite the madness. “We’re not done yet.”
And with that, you were swept away into the night, the sound of the destruction behind you fading as the mysterious man led you away from the scene, leaving you to wonder who he really was—and what he wanted with you.
The cool night air hit your face as you were pulled out of the grand ballroom and into the dimly lit streets of Elysport. The contrast between the noise and chaos of the ball and the quiet moonlit streets was jarring. You were still reeling from the events that had unfolded, your heart pounding in your chest, and your mind racing with questions.
The man holding your hand was strong, his grip firm but not painful, leading you through the labyrinth of narrow alleyways that twisted and turned through the dark city like a maze. The commotion of the party faded into the background, replaced by the distant sounds of the sea and the occasional creak of a ship down at the docks. The city was alive with the whispers of its nightlife, but you felt completely alone, alone with this stranger who seemed to know everything about you.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he slowed his pace and came to a stop in a small and secluded courtyard. The stone walls of the surrounding buildings loom above you and the walls cast deep shadows that obscured your surroundings. The man released your hand, leaving you standing in the center of the courtyard.
As you took a moment to catch your breath, thoughts reeled through your mind. Who was this man? What did he want with you? And why had he chosen to rescue you from the ball? You looked around, trying to get a sense of where you were, but the courtyard was unfamiliar, and the darkness made it almost impossible to see anything.
Before you could gather your thoughts, the man stepped forward again, more calculated and more predatory. His movements were fluid as if he were completely at ease in the darkness. He reached up, and with a swift motion, removed the mask that had concealed his face.
You gasped, taking a step back as the light of the moon revealed his features. The man standing before you was impossibly handsome, his striking blue eyes piercing through the shadows with an intensity that made your heart skip a beat. His white hair, which had been partially hidden beneath the mask, now fell loosely around his face, giving him an almost ethereal appearance. But it was the look in his eyes that truly unsettled you—as if he could see right through you.
"You're a difficult person to track down," he said, his voice smooth and confident, with a hint of amusement.
You took another step back, your mind racing. "Who are you?" you demanded, trying to keep your voice steady.
He tilted his head slightly, a small, almost playful smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. "Who I am isn't important," he replied his tone light, almost amused. "What matters is what I know."
A chill ran down your spine at his words. You felt like a cornered animal, trapped with no way out. "W-what do you want from me?" you stuttered, trying to keep the fear out of your voice.
His smile widened slightly, but his eyes remained cold and calculating. "You know what I want," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. "You have something that belongs to me."
Your heart skipped a beat, and your thoughts immediately jumped to the map. How did he know about that? The old man had warned you that it was cursed, that it would bring you nothing but trouble, but you didn't think it would be anything like this.
The man's smile faded, and his expression grew more serious. He took a step closer, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied you. "Don't play games with me," he warned, his voice low and dangerous. "I know you have the map. And I know you've been looking into it."
"I don't have it," you insisted. "I got rid of it."
The man raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing you. "Is that so?" he took a step forward, "Because from what I've heard, you've been asking around about certain landmarks. Places that just so happen to match the ones on the map."
Your heart sank. He knew too much. There was no point in lying anymore. But you couldn't just hand the map over to him—not without knowing who he was and what he planned to do with it.
"Why do you want it?" you asked, trying to buy yourself some time. "What's so important about this treasure?"
The man studied you for a moment, his expression unreadable. "That's none of your concern," he said finally, his tone dismissive. "All you need to know is that it's mine. And I intend to get it back."
"And if I don't give it to you?" you challenged.
He smiled again, but this time there was no warmth in it. "Then I'll take it from you," he said as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
You stared at him, trying to gauge his intentions. There was something about him—something dangerous and unpredictable—that made you believe he wasn't bluffing. But at the same time, you couldn't just give up the map. Not without knowing what it was all about, and what it could lead to.
"I need more time," you said finally, hoping to stall him. "Let me think about it."
The man studied you for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then, to your surprise, he nodded. "Very well," he said. "But don't take too long. I'm not a patient man."
He turned to leave, but then paused mid-way, glancing back at you over his shoulder. "Oh, and one more thing," he added, his voice dropping to a low murmur. "Don't try to run. I'll find you. No matter where you go."
With that, he disappeared into the shadows, leaving you alone in the courtyard. You stood there for a moment, your heart pounding in your chest, trying to make sense of what had just happened. Who was this man? How did he know so much about you? And what was he planning to do with the map?
You knew you had to be careful. Whatever this treasure was, it was clearly important enough for someone like him to go to great lengths to get it. But at the same time, you couldn't just hand it over without knowing more. You had to find out what this was about—before it was too late.
You quickly made your way back to your small house, your mind racing with thoughts of what to do next. You weren't going to let anyone intimidate you—not even someone as dangerous as him.
As you reached your door, you paused, glancing around nervously. The man's warning echoed in your mind—he would find you, no matter where you went. But you couldn't let that stop you. You had to find out the truth, no matter the cost.
With a deep breath, you unlocked the door and stepped inside. The map was hidden in a small, secret compartment in the floorboards—a place you thought no one would think to look. You retrieved it, carefully unfolding the worn parchment and studying the markings on it.
You had to figure out what this map was leading to, and why it was so important. As you stared at the map, a new plan began to form in your mind. You would find someone new who could help you decipher it—someone who knew the legends of the sea better than anyone else. And then, you would find the treasure before anyone else could.
But even as you made your plans, you couldn't shake the feeling that you were being watched. The man's piercing blue eyes seemed to haunt your every thought, his warning lingering in the back of your mind.
You knew you were playing a dangerous game. But you had no choice.
And so, with the map clutched tightly in your hands, you made your decision. You would find the treasure—no matter what it took.
The city was bustling when you stepped out onto the streets, the late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the cobblestone road. You knew where you needed to go—there was a tavern on the edge of the city, where sailors and pirates would gather to share stories. It was a risky move, venturing into such a place, but you were running out of options.
As you made your way through the streets, you kept an eye out for any sign of the man from the night before. You couldn’t afford to be caught off guard again.
Finally, you reached the tavern, it was a weathered building with a creaky old sign hanging above the door. The scent of salt and ale greeted you as you stepped inside, the dimly lit interior filled with the low hum of conversation. You spotted a few rough-looking sailors at the bar, their eyes looking toward you with curiosity as you made your way to a secluded corner.
You ordered a drink as you tried to blend in, waiting for the right moment. You needed to be careful about who you approached—trust was a rare occurrence in a place like this.
As the minutes ticked by, you watched the patrons of the tavern by studying their movements and listening to parts of their conversations. You were looking for someone who seemed knowledgeable, someone who might have heard of the map or the treasure it led to.
Finally, your patience was rewarded. An old sailor whose face had been weathered by years at sea, sat down at the table next to yours. He wore a tattered grey coat and a wide-brimmed hat. He seemed like the kind of man who had seen his fair share of the world, the kind of man who might know more than he let on.
You took a deep breath, gathering your courage, and leaned toward him. "Excuse me," you said quietly, your voice steady. "I was wondering if you might be able to help me with something."
The sailor turned to look at you, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied you. "Depends on what you’re asking.”
You hesitated for a moment, unsure of how much to reveal to the man before you. But you had to take a chance. "I’m looking for information about a map," choosing your words with care. "A map that leads to a treasure. But I don’t know where to start."
The sailor’s eyes flickered with a hint of interest, a faint smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. "A treasure map, you say?" he repeated, leaning back in his chair. "Well, now, that’s a dangerous thing to be looking for, especially in a place like this."
You nodded, your heart pounding in your chest. "I know it’s risky," you admitted. "But I need to find out what this map leads to. And I was hoping you might know something about it."
The sailor stroked his chin thoughtfully, his eyes never leaving yours. "There’s a lot of talk about treasures and maps in these parts," he said slowly. "Most of it’s just nonsense, stories made up to entertain drunk sailors. But every now and then, you hear about something real—something worth risking your life for."
He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "If you’ve got a map, and it’s real, you’d better be careful who you share it with. There are people out there who would do anything to get their hands on a treasure like that."
You swallowed hard with the weight of his words sinking in. "I understand," you said quietly. "That’s why I’m being careful. But I need to know more about what I’m dealing with."
The sailor nodded slowly, his gaze thoughtful. "Alright," he said finally. "I’ll tell you what I know. But it won’t come cheap."
You reached into your pocket, pulling out a small pouch of coins. It wasn’t much, but it was all you had. "Will this be enough?" you asked, hoping it would suffice.
The sailor took the pouch, weighing it in his hand before nodding in approval. "It’ll do," he said, tucking the pouch into his coat. "Now, let me see that map of yours."
You hesitated for a moment before reaching into your bag and pulling out the map. You unfolded it carefully, laying it out on the table between you. The sailor leaned over, his eyes scanning the markings and symbols.
After a few moments, he let out a low whistle. "Well, I’ll be damned," he muttered, more to himself than to you. "This is the real deal."
You leaned forward eagerly, your heart racing. "What does it say?"
The sailor glanced up at you, his expression serious. "This map," he said slowly, "leads to a place that’s been whispered about for generations. A place where a great pirate captain supposedly buried his most valuable treasures. But it’s not just gold and jewels we’re talking about. There are stories of powerful artifacts."
"But it’s not going to be easy," the sailor continued. "The path to that treasure is full of danger. There are traps, curses, and worse things that guard it. And if you’re not careful, you’ll end up just like the others who’ve tried and failed to find it."
You felt a chill run down your spine at his words. "What do you mean, 'the others'?" your voice barely above a whisper.
The sailor’s expression darkened. "There have been others before you," he said quietly. "People who thought they could outsmart the dangers and claim the treasure for themselves. But none of them ever made it back. Their ships were found wrecked, their crews dead or missing. And those who survived were driven mad by what they found."
You swallowed hard, the gravity of the situation sinking in. "So, what do I do?" you asked, your voice trembling slightly.
The sailor looked at you for a long moment before speaking. "If you’re serious about this, you’ll need to prepare yourself," he said. "Find a crew you can trust, people who know how to handle themselves in a fight. And most importantly, keep that map close. There are others who would kill to get their hands on it."
You nodded, "I’ll do whatever it takes."
The sailor nodded, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. "You’ve got spirit, I’ll give you that," he said. "Just be careful. This world is full of dangers, and not all of them are as obvious as a pirate’s blade."
With that, he stood up, tipping his hat to you before turning to leave. "Good luck, lass," he said over his shoulder. "You’re going to need it."
You watched him go, your mind racing with everything he had told you. The treasure was real, and it was more dangerous than you could have ever imagined. But you were determined to find it, no matter what it took.
You took the map and carefully folded it and tucked it back into your bag. With a deep breath, you stood up and left the tavern, your heart pounding in your chest. You had a lot of work to do, and there was no time to waste.
As you walked back through the city streets, the weight of the map seemed heavier than ever. You knew you were about to embark on a journey that would change your life forever, one that would test your courage, your resolve, and your very soul.
But despite the fear that lingered in the back of your mind, there was also a sense of excitement—a thrill at the thought of uncovering something that had been hidden away for centuries that not even the best pirates could find.
You had the map and you had the determination, now all you needed was the right people. And once you had that, there would be nothing stopping you from finding the treasure and claiming it for yourself.
The night was still young as you made your way back to your small home. You were ready to face whatever challenges came your way, to risk everything for the chance to uncover the secrets of the map.
And as you reached your door, the words of the mysterious man from the ball echoed in your mind: "I’ll find you, no matter where you go."
You knew he was out there, watching, waiting for the right moment to strike. But you weren’t afraid. You were ready for whatever came next.

Strangelove (Fulgrim, Ferrus Manus)
Summary: Fulgrim meets Ferrus' lover and remembers his past.
Fulgrim/fem!Reader, Ferrus Manus/fem!Reader
Warnings: obsession, angst
Word count: 1196
Song: Depeche Mode - Strangelove
Fulgrim, my man, I'm sorry that i make you suffer.
Fulgrim had never seen Ferrus worried or afraid. Even right now Manus led his brother into his chambers with his usual confidence. But he felt a noticeable change in the air. Ferrus told Fulgrim that he wanted to introduce him to someone. A very important person for him. Whom did he meet just recently. But he was sure that your relationship would continue for a long time.
Already at this moment Fulgrim should have tensed. But he did not notice the catch and never thought that the Gorgon could ever fall in love. And even more so openly admit this feeling to himself and his beloved. Manus was the perfect cog in the Imperium. A mechanism that worked smoothly and responsibly. But it seems the joint campaign with Vulkan has made him softer.
When Fulgrim first meets you he can't say a word.
Libya was the first one. First wife. First love. Small and thin, she was afraid of almost everything. Her father did not want his dear daughter to see the horrors of the world. But he had to give her in arranged marriage to Fulgrim. When she first met her future husband, Libya almost burst into tears. She was shaking so much with fear. She was leaving her family and home forever. The marriage could have been unhappy. In addition, the primarch's height frightened the young girl.
At that moment, Fulgrim knew he wanted to protect her. This girl is the embodiment of the entire planet, all the unfortunate inhabitants who need help. He did everything he could to make her happy. He taught her new knowledge and spent his free time with her. He was very gentle with Libya the first night and the the next ones too. Love inspired him and gave him the strength to unite Chemos as soon as possible.
She died.
“I-I think that perfection does not exist” - you stammer, trying not to look at the Phoenician who asked an important question for him. He feels your face and hands sweating with worry. “But this is precisely what defines humanity. T-therefore, we continue to develop in science and art. We strive to achieve excellence. Something that doesn't exist. And this means that the Imperium will always move forward.”
Fulgrim did not expect such an answer. At all. No, perfection existed, it was just that your mortal nature could not realize it. And yet your reasoning and thoughts... agitated him. He could no longer remember the last time he felt such emotions from a conversation with a mortal female.
Venus was a serious and smart girl. Even too much. Deprived of many of the joys of life, she always helped her parents in everything. And she calmly accepted her marriage to Fulgrim. They became close over conversations about the peoples of Chemos. Venus absorbed knowledge with great zeal. But most of all she loved legends and myths. And often told them to her husband before bed.
She died of fever. Fulgrim still remembers her face, contorted in pain. How she cried and begged to be killed so as not to suffer anymore. He could not refuse her this last favor.
Could not.
Fulgrim just can't take his eyes off the two of you. How you calmly chat with Ferrus like an ordinary person. Without feeling the charisma of a primarch. And even though you barely reached the man’s waist, it didn’t bother you. Just like him. Although Manus’s eyes were steel, when he looked at you, they glowed with fire.
He could have lost you. To lose your gaze and the warmth of your hands. Never again will hear your singing voice. You could have died. From old age. Or you could be killed. But Ferrus only shrugged off Fulgrim's warnings after you left them alone. The Imperium brought rejuvenating drugs. Besides, you are a smart girl and don’t go to the front line. And even so he will be able to protect you.
“But what if she dies? Or the Emperor will forbid you to see each other when he knows about her.”
Ferrus looks at his brother in bewilderment clearly not understanding his strange behavior. The man ponders the question for a while. Before shrugging and smiling. The Phoenician almost flinched at the confidence of his beloved brother.
“Even so, I'm glad I was able to experience this feeling.”
Clio always smiled. She always kept a mask and did not allow others to look into her soul. Instead, she tried to help everyone. Especially children and old people. Fulgrim will never forget how she cried on his shoulder, opening her heart. He so wanted her to never cry again and really love life.
But she was shot by those who disagreed with his rule. There was too much blood and he didn’t have time to save her. Fulgrim didn't have time to say goodbye. He didn’t have time to tell her how glad he was that she came into his life. That he would take care of her.
But he couldn't protect her.
They all died. They all left him. Alone. With a broken heart. It was enough for the Phoenician to experience love three times. He couldn't bear this feeling anymore. Feelings of loss and grief. Moreover, every year he had to rule over millions, billions of lives. He couldn't afford to be weak. Couldn’t choose between the planet and one single love. The man accepted his fate. He resigned himself.
And Gorgon knew about this. Knew about Fulgrim's wives. He knew that the primarch had suffered the grief of loss. Only to him the Phoenician told about his past. About his feelings and regret that human life is so fleeting. But that didn't stop Manus from finding you. To unite with you the bonds of love.
Fulgrim felt black envy creeping through his veins. No. Love is weakness. Love is imperfect. He couldn't allow himself to feel that way. And could not envy or condemn his beloved brother. It was Manus' choice. He himself decided to take this step.
The primarch, sitting in his chambers, sighed heavily. You were as kind as Clio. Smart and sensible like Venus. As small and trembling as Libya. No, you were not their symbiosis; these traits are inherent in many people. But knowing that you are Manus’ beloved, the Phoenician could not help but compare you with his wives. Dead ones. And you were alive.
And your reasoning about perfection... he did not agree with you and yet was amazed by the honest answer. The way you see the world and humanity as a whole. He would like to spend more time with you, talk to you, see you.
No, he couldn't. Fulgrim felt himself going mad from the flood of memories. And one, tiny thought that he could feel something for you... scared. He could not allow himself to fall in love again, much less with his brother's betrothed. The only thing he can do is continue the Crusade and strive for perfection. He should stop thinking about you and focus on Laeran. The war with the xenos will help him get into a rut.
And forget about you.

ੈ♡˳Askbox ੈ♡˳Sources
₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ About the Asteroid: Hygeia is the fourth largest asteroid. It was named after the Greek goddess of health, and because she is the personification of health, cleanliness, and sanitation, asteroid 10 Hygeia may be related to these characteristics in astrology. It talks about sanitation and prevention, in the current studies of astrology, an art that doesn't stop, it is currently associated with how a person prevents their health in a physical, emotional and mental way, or at least, as it should.
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Sources and inspirations:Sadly, it's not because I care about my health that I'm interested in this asteroid LOL. However, there is another interesting reason for me to make this type of post. Asteroids, in general, are not used much in birth chart reading, and that's okay. In my view, your birth chart is like a cake, and asteroids are just toppings. My reason for looking into asteroids is due to their history. The first four asteroids found were Ceres, Vesta, Pallas, and Juno, all women. Before their discovery, the vision of women was limited to either daughter/mother (Moon) or wife/harlot (Venus). Women were seen as nothing more than that. Even though it didn't change much after the discovery, a new perspective on what a woman can be opened up, and that's why I write about it. There’s not much sources about asteroids, Hygeia is one in the middle ground, there's more than others but it's not very detailed. My sources where this and this. Also, the image template in from minikyuns on deviantart.

I love your Aristocat OCs and I was hoping to learn more about Faure's stepdad, Mr. Abraham DeLacey Giuseppe Casey Thomas O'Malley the Alley Cat? He's my favorite from that movie.
For TwstOC purposes, he just goes by Roman! [Other names may exist among those he's Dealt With but, to his wife & the kids, it's just Roman]
A lot of what is "known" about him in the OC-verse is kind of a "well, so I heard," thing, since he's spoken of through the lens of the kids.
Some quick stuff:
He's Completely magicless, and relies on physical strength and "things he learned from his friends on the street, if you can read me." Magic is kind of a 'oh damn!' thing; he's still learning to get used to it as a positive thing since meeting his now-wife. When you grow up magicless, there's a little bit of a bitter feeling, but seeing it in action finally at a personal level has really made him interested. The kittens surprise him near-daily with the things they can do (that he previously just sorta had to. 'Figure out'.)
He's got a lot of friends from his previous life, most of which still exist in his Current Life that the triplets know of as "uncles". While he says that life is behind him, he'd still (probably, with some small hesitation) go to jail to help the guys out.
He'd 100% go to jail without hesitation to protect Eva and the triplets. They may not be biological his, but those are His Kids. He's known them since they were wobbling around and chewing on his tail.
He won't give a straight answer if anyone asks how he and Eva met; he'll leave that one to her. But he will give a very poetic rambling about starlight and The Moment and like finding his soul wandering into his arms until he's gently chided and told to stop.
[ ^- this one is old art ]
There aren't enough words for how in love with Eva he is. They are absolutely That Couple. Honey & Darling have nothing on them. He'd throw himself in front of a moving vehicle if she asked. He'd tear down the world if anything happened to her (or the kids). He'd fight until there was nothing left of him and then still find the strength to keep going should someone hurt one hair on her fluffy head. She thinks his devotion is Quite Charming, and politely requests he not go throwing himself in front of any vehicles on Her Watch, thank you.
Emile (toulouse kitten) looks to him like a role model, and even started taking boxing up as a hobby to try to be closer to him. Faure is fascinated by how many friends and connections he has, and strives to be able to go "Oh, I have a guy for that!" like how Roman can. Antonia thinks of Roman as the 'perfect man', and if any boy interested in her isn't as in love with her as he is with her mom, then she wants no part of it. Roman is forever thankful these kids accepted him so readily as Stepdad, even before he and Eva were married.
[ He was absolutely in a gang before, and while not a pusher, he Was a brawler. He's not super proud of that life, but he wouldn't trade the experiences for anything. He was just freshly 'free' of it and trying to find his next gig when Eva happened into his life. ]

The Transmutation of Jacob Boehme
“I did not climb up into the Godhead, neither can so mean a man as I am do it; but the Godhead climbed up in me, and revealed such to me out of His love, which otherwise I would have had to leave it quite alone in my half-dead fleshly birth.”
(Jacob Boehme, Aurora, VIII, 7)
Four years prior to the birth of John Bunyan, a shoemaker named Jacob Boehme died in the village of Goerlitz, Germany. Throughout his adult life Boehme had supported his wife and children by laboring at a rough and dingy workbench. But he was more than a cobbler; for as Alexander Whyte observes, “While working with his hands, Jacob Boehme’s whole life was spent in the deepest and the most original thought; in piercing visions of God and of nature; in prayer, in praise, and in love to God and man.”
Under the spell of Paracelsus, Boehme had in his youth taken a keen interest in alchemy. But in his maturer years, disillusioned with what he came to regard as the groundless claims of the science of transformation, he began increasingly to attach a spiritual and eternal significance to its conceptual framework. In the process his outlook altered radically; yet when speaking of this profound inward change, he naturally reverted to the language he knew best – the argot of the old spagyric art.
There was a difference, however. For now when he referred to the Philosopher’s Stone, Boehme no longer envisioned a magical catalyst possessing the power to turn one substance into another. Instead, he understood the Stone as an image of the New Birth. And so it happened that Jacob Boehme, shoemaker and alchemist, abandoned his efforts to transform lead into gold and exchanged them for a quest to be transformed in the inner man.
In the story of The Sword of Paracelsus, Morgan’s father, John Izaak, finds himself compelled to follow a similar quest. This part of the tale is, admittedly, wrapped in shadow. Yet as it unfolds, one thing becomes sufficiently clear: it is largely under the influence of Jacob Boehme that Izaak has set out upon his journey – inspired, we may imagine, by passages like the following:
“The eternal fire is magical, and a spirit, and dies not. It is the same fire as a dying, yet there is no dying, but an entrance into another source, that is, out of a painful desire into a love-desire …”
(The Signature of All Things)
“For man’s happiness consists in this, that he has in him a true desire after God; for out of the desire springs the love. And the love tinctures the death and darkness, that it is again capable of the divine sunshine.”
(Ibid.)
“He that will not seek thereby a new man born in God, and apply himself diligently thereto, let him not meddle with my writings. I have not written anything for such a seeker, and also he shall not be able to apprehend our meaning fundamentally though he strives never so much about it, unless he enters into the resignation in Christ. For the way is childlike, plain and easy.”
(Ibid.)
“Awaken in me the fire of Your great love. Ignite it, O Lord, so that my soul and mind may see these evil beasts and kill them by means of proper, true repentance and Your power.”
(The Way to Christ)
“If love dwelt not in trouble, it could have nothing to love.”
(The Supersensual Life)
This is the true alchemy as Jacob Boehme — and John Izaak — understood it.
[ Artist • Jakob Böhme ]

Jyestha is Rohini's counterpart, in mid sidereal Scorpio. While Rohini is the moon's favorite wife, Jyestha is his least favorite.
It is said that one of its deities, Alakshmi, the goddess of misfortune, cursed Rohini, for she was jealous of her beauty and natural ease of life.
The moon is debilitated in Jyestha. It is dry and harsh. Jyestha people themselves may struggle with their own jealousy, but people may also be jealous of them.
The actual presiding deity of this Nakshatra is the powerful king of the gods, Indra. Jyestha natives have a commanding presence that often attracts negative energies towards them.
Nicki Minaj, Jyestha sun.
Jyestha natives learn from a young age that they must work and strive for their own success. The nurturing of their upbringing is not granted to them, so they must learn to fend for themselves, in the dark caverns of the 8th house.
Its symbol is an umbrella. To me, this signifies psychic self defense. Which, when you are a king in the perilous world, and making a name for yourself, you need protection. So they can tend to be into psychological self development, the occult, energy work, etc.
Stephen Hillenberg, who made the original Spongebob series, had Jyestha moon. Spongebob is a happy go lucky, cheerful individual. He naturally attracts things into his life because of his confidence. However, he also attracts jealousy, greed, and hatred from others. The whole show's main theme is pretty much centered around the theme of jealousy and work ethic.
They can be targets for abuse and scapegoating. People feel threatened by their auras and try to suppress them. They are also quite introspective people, and many do not understand their depth, only perceiving them as self centered.
Britney Spears, Jyestha sun. Worked since a child as an actress and singer. Mocked by the public for a very long time and was under a conservatorship.
Kesha, Jyestha ascendant. Abused by her producer and went through a big legal battle. She also has a podcast where she talks about the occult and paranormal.
Damien Echols, Jyestha sun. Was put on death row for 18 years and framed for murder. Learned the art of ceremonial magick and energy work while in prison, and now practices martial arts and self development.
And a couple more Jyestha natives, Paris Hilton and Patti Smith.
Paris Hilton, Jyestha sun, played up the "bimbo" aesthetic and was mocked relentlessly, despite being very intelligent and a self made business woman.
Patti Smith, Jyestha ascendant, worked from a very young age and suffered much "8th house"-esque hardship. Including homelessness, and losing loved ones. One lyric of hers from Piss Factory, "I had to earn my dough, had to earn my dough".

I entered my legacy sim Rhiannon in adelarsims' Spellcasting Tournament and it made me want to share the rest of her family and friends. The immortals of my legacy have kinda become their own sub-legacy within that save that now includes the Vatores and Morgyn in their own household, with their own family, as a secondary cast of characters. So, this is that.
The Grim-Jeong Household:
Iris Scott-Jeong: Daughter of Isaac Wilburn-Jeong, a Gen 4 spare from my legacy, and his wife Talia Scott. Met her husband when he came to reap her elderly parents and she somehow managed to befriend him. He became kind of her only friend in the world after her parents died, which blossomed into a romance. Studied spellcasting intensely until she was finally able to grant herself immortality to spend eternity with the love of her life. Currently runs a magic supply shop that was previously owned by her grandparent Ronan.
Thanatos Grim: The Grim Reaper. Well, technically, he's only *a* grim reaper-- there are others. A loving but stoic father/grandfather. Really good at woodworking, for some reason.
Hecate Grim-Jeong: Eldest child of Iris and Thanatos. Runs a small jewelry-making business and creates the most sought-after magical accessories in the realms. Exists as a mediator between her complete opposite, ideologically-opposed brothers, refusing to take life too seriously but also adamant about caring and finding meaning in the world around her. She studies magic under Iris to enhance her jewelry-making projects and is the second most powerful spellcaster in the family after her mom, who calls her "Catie".
Hypnos Grim-Jeong: Middle child of Iris and Thanatos, and the older of their twin sons. Forced to work at Iris' shop to help pay the bills, but would rather be out partying 24/7. Extremely irresponsible, despite being a father (whoops). Wants nothing to do with the death business or magical studies, and thinks that eternity should be spent caring as little as possible.
Chronos Grim-Jeong: Youngest child of Iris and Thanatos by fifteen minutes. The only child to follow in Thanatos' footsteps as a soul reaper, likely because he was the only sibling born without spellcasting abilities. A very eccentric and strange man who delights in being weird and incomprehensible. Takes his job very, very seriously, and tries to philosophize everything.
Valentina Vatore: Wife of Chronos and youngest daughter of Lilith Vatore. Spends her days holed up in the basement, making art. Has a lot of conflicting feelings about being a vampire; she doesn't want to be ashamed of what she is, but has long struggled with the guilt of hurting people in order to survive. She and the immortal Chronos are a perfect match, because she can reliably drink from him without the fear of over-draining. He's also the only person she feels comfortable showing her monstrous dark form to.
Rhiannon Grim-Jeong: Daughter of Hypnos and a woman he had a one-night stand with. Hypnos didn't realize he had a kid until Chronos showed up one day to reap a single young woman who died in a freak Cowplant accident, and discovered she had some underwear that belonged to Hypnos, a wristband for his favorite club, and an extremely pale infant with a very threatening aura. Hypnos took her in afterwards but wasn't really suited for fatherhood, so his parents, siblings, and sister-in-law essentially did 90% of the job of raising her. Thinks her dad is kind of a loser, but her aunts are cool as hell. Currently striving to become a Robin Hood-style master thief and slowly developing something close to a friendly relationship with Hypnos.
Macrantha "Mac" Mizuno-Barakat: Descendant of Iris' long-deceased cousin, and live-in gardener/groundskeeper for the Grim-Jeongs. Strange Plant-sim who was created in the Strangerville lab. Her adoptive mother is responsible for killing her biological mother, the Mother Plant, when Mac was a baby, which is... kinda awkward, but shockingly didn't traumatize her nearly as much as you'd expect. Also works part-time at Iris' shop. Best friends with Rhiannon.
Sweetie Pie, The Undying One (or just "Sweetie"): Thanatos' loyal black hound. A very good girl.
Butter: The family's spectral cat, adopted by Iris during a stroll through the graveyard on a trip to Brindleton Bay. In life, he belonged to Pol. Tech 9 Smith and his family.
The Ember-Vatore Household:
Caleb Vatore & Morgyn Ember: You know who they are. Hot, gothy, married.
Magdalene Ember-Vatore: Daughter of Caleb and Morgyn. Created accidentally through a magic mishap. Self-employed as an alchemist/artificer who makes strange magical machines. Stressed out 24/7.
Lilith Vatore: You know who she is too. Has three vampire daughters with various mortal men who she didn't particularly care about-- she just wanted a big, happy vampire family.
Karissa Vatore: Eldest daughter of Lilith and essentially the black sheep of the family. Really the Colin Robinson of the family, honestly. She keeps her vampirism and family a well-kept secret, using a fake surname at her office job and only progressing her vampire mastery to mask any and all of her vampiric traits. The more she fits in with the normal sims, the better, but every night she still returns to her home life of chaos and freakishness. Best friend of Hecate.
Katya Vatore: Middle daughter of Lilith who is obsessed with being the ultimate vampire. Melodramatic, hedonistic lesbian goth who can usually be found sipping plasma out of a tacky overly-ornate chalice. Best friend of Hypnos.
Prometheus: magical robot created by Magdalene.
Bonehilda: Live(?)-in housekeeper to the Ember-Vatores and romantic partner to Prometheus.
Shelley: Morgyn's undead cat familiar.
Others:
Nemesis Grim: sister to Thanatos, and also a soul reaper. Surprisingly un-antagonistic, despite the name. Likes to visit her brother's family and is currently recruiting niece Hecate to investigate the mysterious Ambrosia Society.
(Huge thank you to @nefarrilou for the custom reaper tutorial that made Aunt Nem possible and gave me a way to play the Reaper Rewards event without breaking my in-game lore)

Bilbo Sessile Baggins, son of Bungo, son of Mungo....
...or, Blessed Child of Yavanna, Babble Baggins, Petraea, Prince of the Shire, and Lorembaron...
Promo art, if you will, for my latest fic that will be published soon on AO3.
{Chosen Horizons }
Summary:
In the rolling hills of the Shire, where the simple life is cherished and magic is a rarity, one hobbit was blessed by the Valar themselves, Bilbo Baggins. Unfortunately for Bilbo, his abilities brought him nothing but trouble and strife, and so he strived to live a quiet and unremarkable life and fit in with the rest of polite hobbit society. Alas, fate had other plans for him, and when the call to adventure came in the form of a band of dwarves seeking his aid on a quest to reclaim their homeland, Bilbo could no longer ignore the Valar's will. His journey would be perilous and his path uncertain, but with steadfast companions by his side and a love that burned brighter than any forge, Bilbo would rise to his destiny and become a hero of legend.
Chosen Horizons is a Bilbo/Thorin fanfic about a certain reluctant hobbit and determined dwarf who are both too stubborn for their own good.
***
This fic has a fully completed rough draft of 480+ pages, and the first few chapters are currently being beta'd before publishing. I am incredibly proud of this fic and I cannot wait to share it with everyone! It is incredibly lore heavy and I have done SO much research and am excited to geek out about it with ya'll.
Nerdy bits in the pic:
Fortinbras I Took's wife is never named...so I decided to give her one. She is named Lunabia Underhill. Lunabia has multiple meanings/symbolisms...my favorite being "am I forgotten?" (and Underhill because it is a rather common family name in The Shire and Bree, and I felt that Bilbo would probably use a family name when he's using a fake name).
Lorembaron: Lore (dreams/visions) + Umbar (fate/doom)+ On , more or less meaning "Dreamer of Fate" or "He Who Dreams of Fate" in Quenya.
This fic will have a good bit of Elvish (Sindarin and Quenya) and Neo-Khuzdul in it...but I am no Middle-Earth Linguist, so please take my translations loosely.
I'm super excited to get this published and share it and I hope, when I do, you all enjoy it!
((And yes, I just really wanted to have a hobbitish photoshoot for my picture of Bilbo...))

Hello, babes! I am the creator of that gorgeous drow you reblogged! That is my baby, Kazimir. He is both one of my favorite D&D characters I've ever made, and now my main BG3 Tav.
And since you don't know him yet, allow me to infodump at you 😝
Kaz is a Seldarine drow raised entirely on the surface. He was born during the summer of 1371 DR in Menzoberranzan, to Matron Mother Phaeravine of House Vrammith, and House Male Nalaxle Vrammith. The period between 1361 DR and 1372 DR is known as the Peace of Lolth, when the goddess commanded that no drow blood be shed. Including sacrifices of males and children be halted.
However, Kazimir was the third son born to the Matron, following immediately after the birth of male twins. Phaeravine was already embittered about bearing two males concurrently, making her the laughing stock of Menzoberranzan. Under normal circumstances, all third-born males and after are sacrificed at birth and she'd be done with the unwanted male. But with the Peace still standing, the Matron couldn't enact her revenge without Lolth's punishment.
So, she resigned to abandon him in the Underdark and let him die of exposure. Naming him Elendir, or "the keeper of traditions," in drow to salt the wound. She had all who knew of the third son sworn to secrecy, lest they have their tongues cut out. And the House Male, who'd been planning to escape for years beforehand and was none the wiser that Phaeravine knew of his treachery, the Matron had turned into a drider on charges of apostasy.
But her infant son would outsmart her by being extraordinarily lucky. An adventuring party was just making their way back to the surface when they heard him crying, starving and afraid. Among them was the halfling ranger, Quindelline Littlemoon. She had just wed the love of the life, Rosina Tulriner, and the couple had been searching for children in need to adopt and raise. And fate happened to drop a son right into their lives. The party smuggled him to the surface and Quin brought him home to her wife.
His new mothers named him Kazimir. Technically they named him Kazimir Milo Kellan Cottonrose Littlemoon-Tulriner (Rosina is part gnome and they pride themselves in having unusually long names). But he simply goes by Kazimir Littlemoon professionally, preferably just Kaz with friends, and is reticent to mention his mile-long government name out of a tinge of embarrassment.
He was raised at their home in Farwallow-upon-Dessarin, a majority Lightfoot halfling village in the suburbs of Waterdeep. He grew up going to the city constantly, and considers himself a native Waterdhavian. Most of his time there was spent beside his mothers, as Quin searched for adventuring work and Rosina sold the jewelry she made.
Though it was also to allow the Church of Eilistraee, the good drow goddess, to make sure he was safe. They also introduced him to drow culture so he wouldn't feel alone. Eilistraee encouraged goodness and charity in drow, a message Kazimir strives to follow. And become an example to others the good that drow are capable of, much like Drizzt Do'Urden before him. (whom he majorly looks up to and has a massive crush on)
He grew up to follow in Quin's footsteps, becoming a ranger just like her. He leans into his strength with stealth, and chose to follow the Gloom Stalker conclave. Essentially disappearing into shadows and mastering the art of ambushing with his beloved longbow.
His mothers raised him to be kind, compassionate, polite, helpful, and to have enough sense to take no shit from anyone. Being a drow on the surface means walking a tightrope of respectability around others, lest they ascribe every bad thing ever done by Lolth to you. But if you can't kill them with kindness, a mean right hook works in a pinch.
Being a 5'3" man in majority-human society doesn't help much, either. If the snide comments aren't directed at his drow-ness, they're directed at his height. Though he doesn't mind it much anymore, and lets his battle prowess speak for itself. He just wishes they'd get more creative than insinuating he's small elsewhere.
At time of the game, he's 121 years old and living in Waterdeep proper, above a tavern called Dagger's Rest. He works as an adventurer for hire, specifically for stealth missions and beast extermination.
GORGEOUS DROW IT'S YOUU!!! Oh my god thank you for him. He's so beautiful. And a good booyy??? I'm feeling spoiled with him right now 😍
He really is so lucky though, I love it. Thank you to his moms for finding him and loving him and giving him the cutest damn name ever I've ever heard. Seriously I think the gnomes know what they're on about. More names more choice!
And a Drizzt fanboy too? And drow short??? could I love him more????? (not me wishing they'd let me make my drow shorter than humans all the time)
Just a young little man too! he's so sweet, and his story is so interesting! I'm honestly so impressed with the level of detail and the love you've put into him. It really shows.
How does he get along with the other tadfools? Do they have any rivalries yet? Are they a solid found family unit? How's he coping with it all? Being an adventurer is one thing but alien abductions? I hope he's doing okay ;;

In my opinion, 'Brutus' by The Buttress is the perfect song portraying the conflicted emotions Peter Pettigrew must have felt during the war years leading up to his gut-wrenching betrayal. It starts off with 'I've been watching him for my entire life', which already makes sense if one headcanons, that James and Peter were childhood friends. In his early teenage years, Peter is considered a pushover, and always remains in the shadows of both Sirius and James. I can imagine that, because of this, he developed some sort of strive to be just as loved as the both of them; some mind-tearing, obsessive urge to prove his worth and just as much of his own briliance since everyone always seems to overlook him ( -> 'Or am I just whishing I could be like you? That the people would see me too as the poet, and not just the muse'). 'Something wicked this way comes. And as I set to face it, I'm unsure, should I embrace it? Should I run?' This is essentially Peter's recruitment, and the manipulation he faces throughout his carreer as a DE. 'What motivates me? Hatred? Is it love?' He used to worship James, but now Peter is unsure if this is truly all he ever wants to be known for - James Potter's friend. It starts to disgust him and, with Riddle and other DEs whispering into his ear, promising the success and validation he so direly sought for, hatred overweighs at last. The ultimate selling point, however, is the fourth verse of this song where Brutus betrays and kills Julius Ceasar. Just how Julius saw Brutus as his brother, so did James see Peter. And yet Peter still betrayed and (indirectly) killed him ( -> 'My name is Brutus and my name means heavy. So with a heavy heart I'll guide this dagger into the heart of my enemy'). 'My whole life, you were a teacher and friend to me. Please know my actions are not motivated only by envy.' Note here, that 'my actions are not only motivated by envy' is just another hint at Peter's growing obsession with becoming better than everyone, to spite those, who always belittled him. He feels envy, yes, but this is not the sole motivator of his betrayal. 'I too have a destiny. This death will be art. The people will speak of this day from near and afar. This event will be history, and I'll be great too.' He did make history with his actions, even if he didn't get all the laurels. But people literally spoke over these events from near and afar. 'I don't want what you have. I wanna be you.' Once again, it amplifies the envy Peter felt towards James, who was loved, acknowledged and cherished by many people. Who had a son and a wife as well as a best friend. But the other driving factor shall remain his toxic determination to be just as powerful as everyone else.

ANDRÉ PIERRE ROMAIN | OBITUARY by Regine Romain
Sunday, January 28, 1940 – Sunday, June 9, 2024
By Régine Roumain (daughter)
André Pierre Romain was born on Sunday, January 28, 1940, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to the late Fannie Privert and Turenne Romain. He has one surviving brother– Camile Romain. He is preceded in death by siblings: Renée, Marthe, Solanges, Emmanuel, Viviane and Junique.
André spent his youth in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and emigrated to the United States as a young man in his twenties. He was a brilliant artist who in his lifetime made groundbreaking Kompa jazz music with "Ibo Combo" in Haiti and abroad. He was a vocalist, guitarist, pianist, conga player, and dedicated band member. From his extensive 8 track tapes, albums, cassettes, CDs, and video collection, anyone who knew him would get to know his love of music and would invariably be introduced to new sounds of talented artists from around the world. André’s interests and talent in the arts also led him to learn photography and wood sculpting. André’s home became his art studio and his family was gifted with learning the importance of regular practice as an important tool in striving for excellence.
Affectionately known as “Papi,” André was a man in a constant state of evolution and growth. He clearly understood his human limitations and still strived toward greatness each day. He was kind, loving, intellectually curious, and simultaneously a prolific student and sage teacher. He was a self-taught man and positively influenced so many with his wisdom, ingenuity, and humor.
He was a man who smiled often and devotedly uplifted the tenets of his Christian faith as a Jehovah’s Witness. He believed above all things, that we should have "intense love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins" (1 Peter 4:8). Brother Romain will be greatly missed by members of the Laurel and Bryans Road congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
André was a man greatly in love with his wife Gladys and remained devoted to her for 55 years until his untimely passing. Together they were entrepreneurs and supported themselves and their family through independent and creative means.
In the later years of his life, André became a strong advocate for healthy lifestyles and would promote daily walking and grounding as restorative healing to everyone that he met. At the time of his passing at 84 years of age, he was walking over 17,000 steps (7.7 miles) regularly. His commitment to well-being, and holistic healing through plant-based, whole foods was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him.
André is survived by his children - Dudchen Romain, Patrick Edouard, Iman Shabazz (née Ingrid Regis), Régine Romain, and Natacha Romain. He was blessed to have 10 grandchildren: Stephanie, Yekini, Rachide, Tanika, Tiffani, Julien, Prince Aziz, Rahman, Aishah and Ngozi. He was further blessed to have 3 great-grandchildren: Alexa, Anika and Yonathan. He also had a sweet connection with Maximus, his canine “grandpup.”
André is loved and will be greatly missed by members of the Naar, Pierre, Bruno, Dumorné, Critchlow, Anderson, Paul, Pratt, and Wedderburn families, his daughter-in-law Ketzia Edouard and lifetime friends Alix Pascal and Antoine Bruno.
The voice of André Romain is immortalized through his music, which is still played in Haiti today. He leaves his family a tremendous legacy of his goodwill, artistry and faith.

thinking about the quote from the end of Elvis, "
I’ll tell you what killed him. It was love. His love for all of you.
That voice rang out, and he sang with all his life."
and the reblogged ask about Taylor, and I know people don't want to hear this because we loved interacting with her and miss her, but I'm glad she has distance, im glad she's not killing herself for that love anymore.
i've touched on this a bit in comments with my friend @joons, who wrote really lovely meta about this here, and i'm going to quote her: "elvis, as a man, had such a generous spirit that no one—not his wife or manager or friends or fans—could stop him from digging deep and giving, even when it cost him everything. when his body was failing, his friends would ask him to postpone tours, to rest, to heal. and all he would do is gently smile and say, “it’ll be all right. don’t worry about it.” we may think the colonel is treating love lightly by bringing it up as a factor in elvis’ death, but this pivot in focus actually brings us the closest we ever get to knowing who elvis really was (something elvis himself promised he would reveal to his audience early in the film). his generosity is why he was so loved, and the colonel suggests it was his fatal flaw, that he cared so much about sharing his wealth, his talents, and himself with others that he did not care how much it hurt him. or rather, he did care, but he did not know how to stop sharing whatever he could to make other people happy, instead of attending to his own happiness. he gave people his trust and continued giving it long after they had stopped deserving it. and maybe wishing it had been different would be to wish elvis weren’t elvis."
the movie by default made me think about taylor quite a bit, despite the many clear differences, there are unavoidable similarities when it comes to the types of artists they are, who bare so much of themselves and are constantly giving and shimmering and trying and working to connect to their audiences. it's something taylor has addressed several times now, the rippling whisper of that anxiety and the clear slashed wound of it has been appearing in her work for years, and has crystallized further in her most recent music. i mentioned to chelsea how elvis made me think of dear reader (if it feels like a trap, you're already in one is so "suspicious minds" in the way it was utilized in the film, and never take advice from someone who's falling apart/so i wander through these nights, i prefer hiding in plain sight/my fourth drink in my hand/these desperate prayers of a cursed man/spilling out to you for free/but darling, darling, please/you wouldn't take my word for it if you knew who was talking viscerally made me think of him the first time i heard it after seeing the film). her fears about others seeing right through her, drunk as we watch her shattered edges glisten, that she doesn't do enough, that it's exhausting to root for her, that she desperately has tried her best and wanted to be loved (and make it seem effortless), that she shines so bright but that in itself is a kind of curse, that her desire to succeed is also an irredeemable quality, "your kindness is fake. your pain is manipulative,"...will you still want me when i'm nothing new?...it's splashed like a bloodstain all over her music and is such a sad, distressing facet of what she's gone through, but i also think there's an inherent quality in this that certain artists have - this wellspring of humanity, this boundless love that has nowhere else to go and springs forth from the music, the act of creating art, the euphoric feeling of performing, the intensity of love they feel from fans that, we have to acknowledge, can never be fully balanced or reciprocal because of the necessary and natural boundaries between us. i think taylor gave so much of herself when she was younger that it was corrosive to her person. she was struggling in such a way personally and still striving without end to be respected and embraced, and she gave a lot of that unfailingly to fans, maybe because she felt she had to as an extension of gratitude, maybe because she didn't feel loved and safe elsewhere, and also because she does feel a real sense of love in that way. but i think it was very hard on her too, and untenable. you can never reach everyone. you can never make everyone happy. you can never help everyone who needs help. you can never give all the love you wish you could give. it's a beautiful and admirable and even spiritual thing to share, but when does the line need to be drawn when you have to attend to your own needs and humanity first before collapsing under the weight of it?
all this said, i too am glad she's got a much healthier balance now, is very steadily loved in her daily life by a partner who gives her a sense of stability and quiet, and that she doesn't feel the need to give so much of herself away, outside of all the vulnerability within her art. it doesn't mean she doesn't care for us, i believe she means it whenever she thanks us, whenever she says she owes her career to us or she creates things for fun with us in mind (the easter eggs in the bejeweled video, as a recent example. she took a song about her feeling hurt and unappreciated, sadness became my whole sky, and wanting to sparkle again, and reinterpreted it visually to include her fans as a positive aspect), but i also think she's learned what she doesn't have to sacrifice.
there's an unerring empathy in the tragedy of elvis not knowing when to stop, how sincere that love he had was, how that itself was a type of defiance. "he loved and he gave, and he couldn’t do otherwise no matter how much people tried to stop him. and that simple truth is one last great gift." i do believe this endures and is a connective gift.
still, there's a strength in learning how to stopper that outpouring of oneself, one's heart and soul and love, too, and i do find that i'm thankful she's learned that, even when we miss her engaging as much, knowing she has a better sense of peace takes precedence. that love doesn't have to be fatal anymore. she's learned how to let it have its respite instead.
#anonymous#letterbox#it's like making parallels between she and marilyn too of which there are quite a few even though it's acting vs. musicianship#marilyn also suffered from never being able to turn her intense sensitivity and her love off and the burdens that brought with it#it's really fascinating to me bc it speaks to a certain kind of humanity and a certain need to connect that i think is really raw#anyway i could talk about the elvis comparisons here at length aksdflgk but yeah#i worried about her for so long and she very clearly saw tragedy unfolding ahead of her#she made a conscious decision not to drive off the cliff and that is its own act of bravery#thrown out speeches#taylor swift#elvis presley#i was a dreamer

Thirtieth Ceremony - Kevin and Karen
A 20th anniversary vow renewal for some longtime friends.
Friends, thank you so much for joining us today! Some of you were at Kevin and Karen’s wedding 20 years ago. And some of you have become part of their family along this beautiful journey they’re on! Whether you’re an old friend or new one, welcome! We’re so grateful you’re here today, as Kevin and Karen renew their commitment to each other.
For many of us, marriage feels like a ‘final destination.’ After years of searching for our soulmate, when we finally find them and get to celebrate that love with a wedding -- it seems like the most extraordinary gift we can think of! It was certainly an extraordinary gift for these two!
But then something even more extraordinary happened… Kevin and Karen began to build a life together. They encountered new challenges they’d never faced alone and discovered new joys they’d never even dreamed of! They made a home as a family and filled it with laughter and warmth. (and cats of course!)
They learned that marriage is so much mo
re than a destination… it’s the start of a full and wonderful life. So today, they celebrate that with you, and renew the vows they made on their wedding day.
Let’s give them our love and support!
Kevin and Karen, when you were first joined in matrimony 20 years ago, you did not know what life had in store for you.
You promised to love, honor and cherish one another through life's highs and lows. You've persevered through the blessings and challenges that have come your way over the years, and today you're here to reaffirm your vows of love and respect for each other.
May you continue to strive to be sensitive to each other’s needs,to be open and understanding with each other,To share your thoughts, your feelings, and your experiences with each other.Today, you renew your promise to try always tobring out the qualities of forgiveness, compassion, and integrity in yourselves and in each other.May you continue to cherish each other’s uniqueness. Continue to share in life's joys and remain steadfast and comfort each other through life's sorrows.
As you celebrate your marriage and reflect on your shared journey, do you now wish to reaffirm the marriage vows you committed to 20 years ago?
[We do.]
Please face each other and join hands. Kevin, will you continue to have Karen as your wedded spouse and continue to be committed to this loving marriage?
Kevin: I will.
Kevin, please repeat after me:
I, Kevin, promise to love and honor you, To support you through good times and bad. To shoulder your burdens as if they were my own, And to celebrate each joyful success by your side. I promise to treat you with kindness, compassion, and patience, And to remain honest and faithful, This day and every day forward, As your loving friend and husband.
Karen, will you continue to have Kevin as your wedded spouse and continue to be committed to this loving marriage?
Karen: I will.
Karen, please repeat after me:
I, Karen, promise to love and honor you, To support you through good times and bad. To shoulder your burdens as if they were my own, And to celebrate each joyful success by your side. I promise to treat you with kindness, compassion, and patience, And to remain honest and faithful, This day and every day forward, As your loving friend and wife.
[Kevin and Karen exchange personal statements]
Kevin & Karen together repeat after me:
Today, I reaffirm my promise to love and honor you all the days of my life, to be loyal, faithful, patient, kind, and worthy of your trust. Today, I renew my commitment to stand beside you, as a friend, lover, and spouse.
June reads
The Art of Marriage by Wilfred A. Peterson Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens. A good marriage must be created. In the art of marriage, the little things are the big things. It is never being too old to hold hands. It is remembering to say "I Love You" at least once a day. It is never going to sleep angry. It is at no time taking the other for granted; the courtship should not end with the honeymoon; it should continue through all the years. It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives. It is standing together facing the world. It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family. It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of Joy. It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways. It is not looking for perfection in each other. It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humor. It is having the capacity to forgive and forget. It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, the dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal. It is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right partner. It is discovering what marriage can be at its best!
Kevin and Karen, today you renewed your marriage vows and reaffirmed your shared love for one another. With pleasure, I now conclude this vow renewal ceremony. You may now share a kiss as a sign of your enduring affection and love.
Jumping the Broom
[Neil sets up the broom.]
Kevin and Karen have now chosen to participate in the ritual of Jumping the Broom. This is a ceremony uniquely remembered “from its inception, as a practice used by people who are ostracized and oppressed by the broader nation, state or kingdom,” according to Tyler D. Parry, an assistant professor of African American and African diaspora studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. Parry, the author also of “Jumping the Broom: The Surprising Multicultural Origins of a Black Wedding Ritual,” traced the tradition back to at least the 18th century, when it was largely practiced by marginalized populations in Europe, he said, “such as traveling communities like the British Romani, rural Welsh communities, Irish individuals and various other people who lived on the margins of the British Isles.”
As Europeans who had jumped over brooms at their weddings came to the United States, so too did the ritual. It was soon adopted by another marginalized population: enslaved people in the American South. “While broomsticks were used in some West African ceremonies,” Dr. Parry said the earliest documented examples of people of African descent jumping over a broom in the U.S. are from the 1800s.
Because enslaved Africans generally had no legal right to marry before the Civil War, they saw jumping the broom as a symbolic way to recognize their unions. In time, Dr. Parry said, that population “innovated, reinvented and reimagined jumping the broom in a way that was fulfilling to them.” The practice has since come to signify sweeping away the old and welcoming the new, the joining of two families and showing respect to ancestors.
“The legacy of African Americans choosing commitment in a time when they were seen by America as three-fifths of a human being can’t be overlooked. And the irony of a similar tradition existing in Kevin’s Irish ancestry brings the tradition full circle to this couple, today.
Kevin and Karen jump the broom
Kevin and Karen would like to thank each one of you for sharing this celebration with them. They would also like to acknowledge loved ones who are no longer physically with us. Their memories will always be cherished and remembered. We are certain they are here with us today in spirit.

CHARACTER HISTORY
Skyler was born and raised in the Upper East Side of New York with both her parents and sister. Her Mom, a well known face around the world for retiring from the modeling world to style them, met a man traveling the globe as a musician. Liam was nowhere near as successful as his wife, but somehow two opposites managed to maintain a marriage and start a very creative family.
The Cameron girls grew up surrounded by music and lavish parties, it wasn’t long until Skyler realized how much she loved to sing. Her sister and father would play instruments and she’d dance around the living room and sing for them, loving that this seemed to turn into a weekly tradition. She fell in love with being in the spotlight, though she quickly stuck to only singing in the shower once she saw how talented her sister was with music as a way to give each of them something to allow them to shine differently but together.
As a young girl Skyler would sneak into her mother’s closet when they had a gala or late night function the girl’s weren’t old enough to attend and spend hours staring at the shoes, perfecting the art of walking in heels by the age of 5. The sneaking continued as she’d venture into her mom’s workshop and “borrow” designs off her rack for parties, being sure to put the items back before morning. Skyler was always drawn to fashion, wearing it, creating it…you name it. She was happy to pick up another passion that’d look good on her college applications alongside acting, getting the chance to design costumes for her onstage performances didn’t hurt either. When she was finally able to go to all the events she’d study what everyone was wearing, learning what was popular and using it to start designing her own clothes in secret, not wanting her mother’s influence to smother her. She never thought she was any good, so for a while she stuck to drawing anything she could: fruit, people, nature. anything that didn’t involve clothes, but she always found herself coming back.
It wasn’t until she met (wanted muse connection) that he truly got her to start honing her craft and focusing on what mattered to her most. As Skyler entered university at Cornell, she saw herself debating between her desires, seeing as fashion would lead her directly under her mother’s shadow and that’s something she’s still striving to steer far away from. She’s always loved her mother’s designs but knew a developed career would involve Skyler working under her and not getting to experience the real world on her own. The spark for acting came back bigger and stronger than ever, resulting in the blonde signing up for every production Cornell had to offer.
Junior year she was offered an opportunity to study abroad in Paris, quickly jumping on that before finding herself romantically connected to a big designer. He went behind her back and stole her designs for himself, publishing them without her consent and leaving the credit she rightfully deserved unmarked. Skyler was devastated, not knowing how to handle the betrayal of someone she put all her love, trust and ideas in. She used this as her plea to fly back to New York to continue her degree.
She was offered an intern position with a local designer in the city shortly after she graduated and she’s been here ever since, doing her best to look toward her future rather than the past.
HEADCANONS
If there’s a party you’ll be sure to find her there, especially with a drink in hand.
She only fully trusts one person in her life: her sister.
She’s her sister’s opposite. being very outgoing, playful, and down to try anything once, charming people with a simple smile from across the room.
She’s always felt this bit of responsibility to make her mother proud and constantly feels that pressure which is one of the main reasons she’s questioning what to do with her career.
Where she goes, trouble tends to follow due to the blonde’s overwhelming sense of adventure and curiosity.
She landed her first acting role, a small commercial and wants to do more in this line of work. She’s also been featured a handful of times as an extra.
She’s the type that her family has money but she’s not one to show it off, never making extravagant purchases especially now living on her own.
