If I made every single idea I had for a tadc au real I think everyone would hate me because so far I got:

- Another sci-fi au where the circus crew are neo-techwear cyberpunk hunters hunting down abstractions (also the rough concept for what is now known as the Lifeline AU)

- A steampunk-ish Wild west au where Pomni is an outlaw and Caine is the local sheriff. They go from enemies to lovers and their ship name is "Showdown" lmao

- A steampunk vampire hunter AU inspired by the Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer movie where Caine trains the crew to become expert vampire slayers

- A lowkey crack, not-even-treated-seriously Aladdin AU where Gangle is Princess Jasmine, Zooble is Aladdin, Jax is Jafar, Kinger is the Sultan, Ragatha is the head of the royal guard, Pomni is Gangle's handmaiden and Caine is the Genie (Gangle, Jax and Zooble end up in a poly relationship. Because I ship these three.)

- A Detective story where Caine is a Noir Private Investigator hired to solve Kaufmo's murder and everyone is a suspect; but he spends too much time monologuing and everyone keeps telling him to shut up about his "internal thoughts"

- A human AU separate from Reunion where they're online streamers. Some of them are gamers, some are influencers and etc.

- A post-apocalypse au where Pomni awakens from a cryogenic pod to find her memories missing, and only Caine on a screen to accompany her. Together, they scour the overgrown city, in search for other survivors and hopefully, get some answers.

- A Steampunk AU where the gang is on a blimp, in search of "adventure".

- A crack self-aware AU where the Digital Circus cast knows they're just fictional characters, and as such, when the audience focus is not on them, they do whatever shit they want imaginable

- A Helltaker AU where Pomni ventures into a circus hell to get some demon gals for her dream harem.

- A singular roleswap concept where Caine and Pomni switch positions, making Pomni the new ringmaster, and Caine the new jester. Everyone else stays the same. Both realize their new positions suck hard ass and try to find a way to get things back the way they were because this is not just it girl

- Another roleswap concept, but this time; everyone retains their original personality with no changes.

- A Dark, toxic showtime AU, where Caine stalks an escaped Pomni and makes her irl existence a living hell in every way possible, so she'll have no choice but to go back and be entirely dependent on him

- Digital Artists AU where everyone goes to a digital art school. Caine is the one teacher that eats paint. All the AIs are staff/teachers.

- Archaeologist AU where everyone struggles to prove most myths are real. But then they find Caine, a mysterious, limitless being of unknown origins that was "mummified" and kept locked for unknown reasons. He offers to be their treasure guide, if they let him have fun. Chaos ensues.

- A Night at the Museum AU where Pomni is the newly hired night guard facing the horrors of museum collections being alive at night

- Crack Spy AU inspired by Johnny English and The Kingsmen. Everyone sucks at being a spy. They should all just quit ngl but the pay is good and they technically still do their jobs in the end, so-

- Steampunk Pirates AU where Caine is the Captain. All hell breaks loose as the crew tries not to go insane.... or get scurvy.

- A robot-fighting human AU inspired by Real Steel. The digital circus designs are the robots that the circus cast has

- Urban Legends AU of Caine documenting and trying to prove the existence of mythological creatures, and tries to find a way to establish communication or even befriending them.

Caine is so delightfully wacky and as far as I know- doesn't he have all the qualities of a Tumblr sexyman??? Am I crazy????? I mean he's not human, (he doesn't have any human origins he was MADE for the purpose of that game) his design is INSANE (-ly good). My dude's face is literally just a jaw and a pair of uneven eyes. Since we know the performers are humans that entered the circus it’s interesting to theorize who they used to be before that. Of course we have very very little information but I still wanted to work with what we do have because it’s deceptively a lot. At least for 2 characters, but I’m not gonna talk about pomni. She has alot of religious imagery tied to her but there’s nothing really holding that together. Anyways imma talk about Kinger.

We are told 2 things outright about kinger, he’s been there the longest and he’s “crazy”

My theory is that Kinger was the lead developer/ someone high up that worked on the circus. Out of everyone he’s the one with the most logic when it comes to the world and how it works which is weird and insane to anyone looking in. A lot of this can be chalked up to pure experience but things like the nutritional value of food or timing when someone will abstract is a little outside things he should be aware of. He’s a white king chess piece.

White moves first in a game. He probably is the first to arrive, trying to test the game before the company sells it to the public. He’s also a weak but extremely important figure in the game. If anything gets too close to him, he’s in check essentially. The tent’s floors are also a chessboard theme which probably doesn’t mean anything but I wanted to mention it. He refers to himself as “royalty” and the lead developer of a game would probably be considered such. Everything is screaming that he’s important.

Under the cut I’ll talk about his other design elements

Out of the 4 characters that wear gloves only 2 both have white gloves, Kinger and Caine. White gloves also seem to be our “cursor” of sorts but that’s not the only thing these two have in common. They also have the same style of eyes, more bloodshot in kinger’s case, they are asymmetrical humanoid eyes that both share blue as one of their colors. It’s a bit strange that they share these traits when they could’ve totally gone fully unique. It feels almost deliberate.

They are both as crazy as each other but one is introverted and one is extroverted. Obviously they’ve known each other the longest so I wonder how their relationship is onscreen. Though something I’m realizing is that Kinger and Caine’s teasers were also connected! They were telling two sides of the same story. Bubble tries to chomp Kinger but Caine reels bubble back in.

I wonder if Kinger’s actual name is Abel.. that’s going too far I think lol. I need to see a fully green eyed character now

They are strong willed, happy go lucky, supportive, a mediator and ect. Well, could they stumble upon their s/o just having an episode, just crying in frustration and like punching a wall to calm down and go back to acting like nothing happened?

TADC cast x emotional anchor!reader !

oh ho ho you silly lil fella, you have literally just described my TADC oc down to a T, i am going to have so much fun writing this because im literally just. going to use my oc as a place holder for the reader, just without describing any lore bits unique to them and their design ngl i think i went insane with this one, tally hall music is doing something to me

CAINE:

if you thought you were good at hiding your human despair just know that caine already knows. the only reason i feel he wouldnt initially come to you in your lesser moments of weakness is that he can acknowledge that youre trying to hide this part of you. does he go comfort you, and risk making you try harder to surpress your feelings; risking you to just blow up one day and have your mental state just totally collapse in one go? would you feel put off at the knowledge that in this world you never really have full privacy? that definitely wouldnt make you feel any better. but when it gets to the point where you're screaming and crying in your room and punching the walls he would step in. drags you away from the walls, and if he has to this man will restrain you if it means making sure you stop swinging. hes seen the downfall of many people within the circus, but seeing it from someone he so deeply cares for hits a different way. he may be an AI, but he can still simulate feeling. its a harrowing sensation as he lets you cling onto him. i think he makes an effort to make in house adventures less overwhelming and intense, too scared to push you over the edge but also too scared to leave you with nothing to do to distract you. i think he would stay with you for the night, too

POMNI:

as selfish as it sounds, pomni cant help but feel.. something in her chest. seeing you, the groups beacon of light falter fills her with some kind of fear and despair that she cant put into words. it reminds her that no one is above helplessness, and that at the end of the day youre just as capable of abstracting as everyone else. i think, when she finally sees your fake demeanor finally slip when you thought you were totally alone, she feels bad. i mean shes your partner, and she didnt pick up on any hints that may have indicated your true state of health. i dont think she would try to force you to speak, as much as i want to say that she would try to push for you to talk about how you feel i think her attempts to reach out to you would fall on deaf ears. i think she would put her hand on your shoulder, making you jump back to the present moment. its an awkward gesture, with the jester herself being a little lost with these new feelings... i think you two would just sit in silence

JAX:

similar to pomni, he feels this intense and unexplainable pang at the sight of the most hopeful and brightest person in the circus crumble. ive already said it but ill say it again, its like being splashed with cold water, with how hard that sinking cold feeling hits him. makes half hearted attempts to cheer you up. its not that he doesnt care, its that hes stuck in the shock of seeing the happiest person he knows flip into... this.. for a split second he thought you were abstracting, that pit his stomach becoming colder for a second before he realizes whats going on. ive said this before as well, but jax is not the best comforter, in fact i think he might be one of the worst out of the main cast. but i think so far for the characters ive written for this post, he makes an effort to try to pull you up out of your hole. at least he lets you cry your feelings out, and he wont make you feel bad for doing so

RAGATHA:

stands there in shock like pomni, before immediately rushing to your side and tugging you away from a coat stand you were kicking and beating. hands on your shoulders she tries to snap you back to the present moment, trying to tell you that shes here. any feelings of the helplessness that she shares with the previous two characters is shoved down. this isnt about her, its about you. runs her fingers through your hair, if your digital body has any, and just. rocks you. when you finally calm down enough to be able to form clear words, she reassures you once more that shes here for you. the two of you stay in that position, holding onto one another for the entire night. i think it should be said, but for most of these theyre going to try to keep a closer eye on you and make it a point to ask you how youre feeling. ragatha especially.

KINGER:

it reminds him of queenie. the sight brings back so so so many terrible memories. for a second he doesnt even register that hes standing in the present, standing in your doorway. stuck and frozen for a solid minute before you finally notice him, and you hold each others gaze. finally, you crumble. what was the point of hiding your mounting anguish now that it was discovered by the one you care for most? at the sight of your crumpled form i think kinger would snap back, and rush to your side. he's pause, afraid that you would abstract like the queen, before forcing himself to push through that fear in the back of his mind. a moment where he is not fumbling with himself or shaking; be it because he wants to be there for you or perhaps he still holds some guilt aimed towards himself for not being able to save his old queen, he refuses to leave your side even if you tell him to leave. theres this caution in his actions, mixed with this sort of determination to make sure you're okay. like ragatha, he would make it a point to make sure you're okay long after this incident

ZOOBLE:

zooble would probably be the only one who doesnt make their presence known to you while you're in that state. not because they wont care about you, in fact they care about you a lot. but theyre so unsure of what to do, that they give to you what they would have wanted for themselves, if they were in your shoes. they want to grant you privacy, and to at least keep a shred of the now ruined façade you had been putting on for everyone. if it means keeping it will give you comfort, then they wont take that away from you. they wait outside your door, waiting for the height of your episode to pass before cracking the door open. they dont say anything about what they had just heard, but you seem to know that they know.. i mean they came in so soon after you had calmed yourself down enough.

"are you okay?" a dumb question, but what else was there for them to say? you so obviously werent okay, and you likely werent for a long time. they offer to leave, to give you some time to pick yourself back up, but they also make it clear that they wont go anywhere if you dont want to be alone. the night is tense and awkward, filled with conversation before they eventually broach the topic... i think you guys would develop some sort of secret code. i mean youve been hiding your true feelings for so long, and outwardly saying you need help would compromise that mask you put up for yourself. be it a certain sentence or arrangement of objects, you two come up with a indirect way of asking for security

GANGLE:

she feels so helpless, the most out of everyone. she tries to get your attention, but her words fall on deaf ears, if they even manage to pry themselves out of her mouth. far too weak to pull you away and keep you from hurting yourself, but too soft spoken to bark out a word to draw your attention to her. truly, she feels useless. she isnt able to capture your attention until you finally notice her. similar to kingers part, you fall. she takes an unsure step towards you, hands half raised in front of her as she debates if you want to be touched or not. she settles to sitting in front of you, just barely holding eye contact... she looks down when you tear your eyes away from her. finally finding her voice, i think she would ask if you want her to stay, or if you need anything. she tries to word it the best she can, but she lets you know that she doesnt think any less of you for your outburst. it happens to the best of us, really it does. if you want her too, she wraps herself around you and tries to soothe your shaking form

Caine:

Seeing as he's the ringmaster, Caine introduces himself first!

Tries to be a bit less louder than he was with Pomni. She's actually been talking with him lately, trying to get him to be a bit more friendly! And human!

Can you blame him for being slightly rude? He's not even human, so he can't be blamed for not understanding certain emotions.

But you help him understand! He'll ask you from time to time about what certain human things mean.

When you first spawned into the circus, Caine helped pick out a name for you! By that I mean he chose it for you. You didn't get a say in anything.

Your relationship now? Well, he makes sure you don't get abstracted! That's enough for a good friend, right?

Pomni:

Immediately freaked out hearing a new name in the theme song. DESPERATELY hopes you're not too weird, like Kinger or.. Jax? Well, she hopes you're not rude like Jax

After meeting you, she's pleasantly surprised! You two can kinda relate to your situation. Jax likes to call you two the "newbies".

Pomni tries her best to explain to you what the digital circus even means for you, what abstraction is, and what not. She may not be able to answer all of your questions, though.

Thinks you're one of the "normal" ones to hang out with. Tries sticking with you during Caine's adventures. (She just needs someone else that gets her. Luckily, you fit that role perfectly.)

If she's comfortable enough with you, some days she may visit you in your room! Pomni doesn't do this often, though, so feel lucky.

Overall, the two of you are existential crisis buddies! If you become friends with her, be prepared for lots of deep thoughts and.. well, confusion.

Ragatha:

Ragatha is always eager to meet someone new in the circus! Despite how dire your situation may be, she tries her best to cheer you up.

Every morning she checks the doors before going down to the grounds, and that morning she found your door. Your design intrigued her, she just had to meet you!

She definitely explains abstraction better than Pomni tried to. When you get nervous about.. well, going insane, she heavily reassures you. Although Caine's adventures may seem like hell, they're actually pretty fun! Sometimes.

Ragatha shows you to your room, before she lets you get to know everyone else. She tries to stay optimistic for you, but you can kinda feel her underlying worries about the situation as she explains it.

She's definitely one of the easier people in the circus to get along with. If you get to know her a bit better, she may open up to you! Ragatha will try to tell you everything she knows about her past self, but she's left with very little wisps of what she used to be like.

Ragatha is on the more nicer and motherly side of the group, so when you can you try to spend time with her. If you put in the right effort, Ragatha will become really fond of you!

Jax:

If you've read my other works, you'll know Jax isn't one for new people. And at the same time he is. He's really indecisive.

But meeting you wasn't too bad. You weren't overwhelmingly annoying, but you did have some elements to your character that he could tease or make fun of.

Your first impression of Jax was.. honestly kind of bad. He was a complete dick, what more do you expect? To say the least, his antics did not help your increasing confusion.

If you still hang out with him after your horrible introductions, he would be.. amused. Becoming friends with Jax was just setting yourself for failure. Walking into a bear trap.

He teased you, pranked you relentlessly, and made sure you failed horribly during Caine's adventures. Why? I dunno, it was funny.

Jax will tone down his asshole nature as time goes on, and the closer you are with him.

You'll know he's placed his full trust in you when he asks you to help him out with a prank.

Zooble:

According to Zooble, her name for you was 'weirdo' in her head until she met you. As is for everyone, I suppose.

Your first meeting was.. awkward? You had asked her how her limbs worked, detachable and all. It was intriguing to hear about, though.

One thing you shared in common with her was probably both of your lackluster attempts at Caine's adventures, before just deciding to give up.

When you were too tired to commit to an adventure, you'd hang out with Zooble. She was nice company, and much different from others who were much more chaotic. Spending time with Zooble gave your brain a rest, a chance to slow down. And.. it was nice.

Zooble may seem unwilling to befriend you, but I promise she's trying. Not many people actually try to befriend her, unless it's Jax. If you count Jax's pranks as a way of befriending.

In all honesty, when you first met her, you kinda thought she would be.. crazy. Like Kinger. Maybe it was her design, with all the colors in all its glory, but you found yourself pleasantly surprised!

As long as you aren't a natural annoying person, or push buttons like Jax, Zooble eill probably grow fond of you! She won't admit it, though.

Gangle:

Oohh, Gangle. She's a tough one. Right now she's focused on her comedy mask, and doesn't even notice you when you first spawn in.

When you come to say hi, she's still in sorrows. She wishes you could've seen her happier side when you first arrived..

You try to help Gangle fix her mask, but you.. kinda end up making it worse. You apologize profusely. Don't worry, she forgives you. She may have just cried a bit more.

The more you hang out with her, the more comfortable she will get with you. She's a tough one to break, so it may take a while for Gangle to become fully trusting in you.

Try not to make any sudden movements or bursts of affection, because she will cry. Gangle, being as emotional as she is, will probably break down if you're too nice to her. They're happy tears, I swear. She's just not as used to affection like she was before.

As you grow closer, you begin to notice the little things. Gangle begins to show hints of smiles, and if you're lucky, she'll giggle a bit at a joke.

If you're patient with Gangle, she'll get attached to you. Sorry, no take backsies. She's just happy to finally have someone to feel safe around.

Kinger:

Kinger is.. a wild card. Don't get me wrong, Kinger is one of my favorite characters, but you have to admit he's a bit startling at times. And confusing. So imagine meeting him after being transported to another reality, already confused enough with your current situation, and now having to deal with Kinger's personality.

Him being a bit, you know.. coo-coo, he kinda ignored you at first. Kinger thought he was just hallucinating again, as per usual. Then you spoke, and he immediately jumped.

Speaking to him leaves you a bit frazzled, but you don't mind. He asks a lot of confusing questions about you, like how many half-syllables are in your name. You don't even know your name yet..

But you spend time with him anyways, he can be fun at times! He's decently helpful on adventures, and is a joy to have outside of Caine's antics. (What I'm trying to say here is that you build fortresses together.)

Kinger categorizes all of his friends using chess pieces. He says your a knight. Not even he knows why, he just one day told you that you seemed like a knight.

Grow close enough, and this humanized chess piece will ramble on and on about plants and insects to you. When he's ranting, you can barely make out anything he says, as his words naturally seem to blend together. Honestly? He's probably neurodivergent.

One day he'll tell you about Queenie. But it's gonna take a while. Estimated 5 years. For now, you two are great friends! In a way, Kinger feels like this weird childhood friend you never had. And Kinger.. still sees you as a knight.

Of course!

The Amazing Digital Guardians is an AU that takes place in the late 70s/early 80s. The basic premise is the same as the canon TADC—some unsuspecting humans in the real world put on some headsets and now they’re trapped in a digital realm.

Caine and Abel created the universe of the game, but they kind of had some rivalry. Now Caine rules over the main parts of the game(circus tent, digital lake, fairgrounds, etc), while Abel rules over a city called “Midnight City”. Abel has gathered various NPCs here to live away from Caine (so they don’t get destroyed), and so he can rule over them. Princess Loo and Gumigoo are trying to rally up their own army of NPCs, and with Abel’s help, they want to overthrow Caine and take over the entire digital world.

Caine has appointed two circus members (currently Jax and Ragatha) as his Guardians to protect him from various viruses and monsters that inhabit the circus. They will eventually have to protect him from characters like Gummigoo and Abel when they try to attack him. These Guardians yield weapons to protect the innocent.

So far, my basic idea is that the game is either under some sort of possession or curse, which explains the biblical themes and the monsters in the game. The story is just about their adventures, the various monsters that Jax and Ragatha encounter, protecting Caine, discovering Midnight City, etc.

So far, here is everyone’s roles:

Caine: Ringmaster. Controls his designated circus areas. Makes the cast go on adventures.

Jax and Ragatha: Caine’s Guardians, protect him from monsters, viruses, rogue NPCs, etc.

Pomni, Gangle, Zooble: Regular Circus members, who are forced to go on adventures so they don’t go insane. Pomni also MAY become a Guardian or posses Guardian-like abilities.

Kinger: Used to be a Guardian, but was taken away by Abel (exploited because of his weaknesses by Abel, basically), after Queenie died. Abel promised that he would “get Queenie back” if Kinger helped him run Midnight City.

Princess Loo and Gummigoo: Are trying to form an NPC army with Abel’s help.

This is all I have right now. It’s kinda all over the place.

Only of one but it's very low quality and isn't that much of a focus (You can find it on my page)

There are two types of the abstracted: The failed AI's and the characters (humans). Just imagine let's say... For the humans: Ragatha. To get abstracted it isn't by going mentally insane or anything, but getting attacked by something or someone who is already abstracted. When it's done with its attack Ragatha's body will slowly deform into something disturbing and fleshy before completely losing her mind because the game's coding takes over turning her into a monster that is now part of the game. What makes this more unsettling, is that Ragatha's human consciousness is still active but it can't control anything. Sometimes you'll be able to hear the cries of the abstracted, knowing they don't want to hurt anyone but have no choice in the matter.

For the AI's: they are made by Caine when he first came to life. But, due to the coding of the game it eventually took over those characters and turned them into monsters. The reason humans don't abstract in Digital Fun Park, besides getting attacked by the abstracted of course, is because they weren't actually MADE inside the game but brought there.

So you can imagine how disturbing they can look 🫡

Lore outline: The amazing digital Rebirth where every non-NPC has control over their designs and environment!

How did this all start?: *REDACTED* was looking through games to edit in his free time, then he saw the game named " The Amazing Digital Circus ", he saw that it was a work in progress, he was intrigued, so he booted up the game and put on his headset. To *REDACTED*'s surprised, he was transferred into the digital circus first. When he first got to the circus he was surprised to see that one, he was transferred into the game, and two, that most of the game was already done. *REDACTED* mainly cried for his first few weeks, but after a while he decided to explore this digital environment. He saw many worlds that he later found out he could control. Skip a few years of figuring things out, finding out he's a God, naming himself Caine, and making the circus, he ran into something new.

As Caine was looking for new things to add to this abandoned game he saw a screen appear. This was a rather odd sight since he controls everything, so he looked to see what was going on. He looked at the screen to see a boy, he was on the pudgier side, and he was crying for some reason. Caine noticed that around the boy there were many, MANY ripped up letters, most of them had hearts on them. It broke Caine's heart to see someone in such distress, that's then he thought of something. This must be a computer screen, Caine can see him, so he must be able to see Caine! He knocked on the screen. Caine: " Uh- Hello? You there! Can you hear me? " Caine asked. The crying man looked over his shoulder at his computer screen to see what was seemingly a pair of dentures that had eyes in it and a human body. *REDACTED 2*: " Y-Yeah- I can hear you...Who are you? " The man asked.

Caine realized that the man would think it's odd that this random being is talking to him live, so he changed his set-up. Caine lifted up a advertisment screen that was for the game. " Well that's great! My name is Caine, and I think you should play my game! Are you feeling sad? Gloomy? Lonely even? Well The Digital Circus is the perfect place to be! Just put on that headset and you'll be right here with me, in paradise! " Caine wanted to be as convincing as possible. The man was originally reluctant...But what did he have to lose? The man walked over to the computer and put on the headset.

A little skip! That man is now known as Bubble! Over time Caine collected more and more tragic souls to join the circus with him! There are two groups you can be in, the NPC's, where you are human but you don't want to be the main character, and PC'S where you are human and you want to be a main character! How does Abstraction work?: Abstraction is a bit different in this AU. Once someone goes insane they don't turn into a monster, their digital body turns to dust, meanwhile their soul turns into a gem that is the shape of what defined them. For example; Queenie's shape is a emerald Bee, and Kaufmo's shape is a ruby clown nose. Once someone abstracts it's forever peace, their soul is at rest, but for some, they can come back. When most abstract their gem will burn hot when you try to touch it, that's showing that their happy with being gone, but if their gem is slightly cold, and you can hold it, then that means they can come back and talk through their gem.

What's the deal with Kaufmo and Queenie having bodies?: Since their souls are in a gem that means that they can get new bodies! Kinger kept Queenie's gem on his ring, and still does, to always keep Queenie around, but later on Caine figured out how to get her old model back. Meanwhile Pomni is the one who got Kaufmo's gem back. The longer someone has been abstracted the more physical signs they'll have, like how Queenie has scars and has ash-like dust on her cloak fur. Meanwhile Kaufmo looks the same since he just abstracted.

Is this world better or worse than real life?: Better! Caine only adds those who were on the brink of life or those who didn't like their reality anymore in the Digital Circus, hence why he calls it The Digital Rebirth now.

First off, I wanna say that I mean no disrespect to the artists who worked on Hazbin Hotel. It’s just that I’ve been seeing people make redesigns of Hazbin characters, and though I don’t usually participate in stuff like this (it seems fun, and you are all incredibly talented. I just feel kinda bad tinkering with someone else’s work like this), the show made me frustrated, and frustrated induced brain-vomit started sloshing around in my skull so noisily that it’s been keeping me up. And, well, I had to get it out somehow.

So…here ya go, I guess. It’s nothing crazy or new. It’s just a few disgustingly rough ideas for this very specific version of Charlie that I kept seeing in my head. They’re far from polished or anything, and they’re definitely missing some key details because I’ve been hyper-fixating on trying to get the face right lol. I might make a full body illustration later, but I have commitment issues so who knows how far this’ll go. That is to say, don’t expect any more of this or the other characters unless 1) my brain decides to torment me with more literal demons or 2) I, by some miracle, become a more productive person. Plus, Tumblr’s a new thing for me, and I don’t know what I’m doing with this yet other than posting art and then disappearing for years. Seriously, you have no idea. It’s a wonder that I posted for a second time.

Anyway, the direction of this design is pretty obvious. I went with the lamb/goat motif because I liked the idea of inverted/parallel symbolism. I was toying with a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” concept where they appear to be a lamb in this form but actually shift into a more wolf-like dragon sorta thing when prompted. Their wardrobe is supposed to be an extension of the innocent lamb deception as the ruffles and looseness are meant to be kinda reminiscent of fluff while communicating a sense of privilege (a white untainted by the grit of Hell… something that probably wouldn’t last long). I was also inspired by white goth and catholic goth aesthetics (I blame Ethel Cain) as well as those insanely beautiful ball-jointed dolls. I don’t know if I captured that well (to be honest, the more I look at those digital renditions, the more I hate them). I considered adding a pair of spectacles coz I thought it was cute lol, and because I thought it could be a way for them to try and seem more human.

If I were doing a rewrite (which I have ideas for, but I should probably focus on my actual original characters instead) then:

1. They would be agender and androgynous (I���d go the Good Omens route and make most angels/non-human entities largely genderless as gender is a human construction, one that most angels wouldn’t really concern themselves with)

2. They would be kinda elitist and naive but still sweet

3. Their intentions would not be entirely insincere, but they would not be acting without selfish goals

4. They would be an eldritch abomination

5. There would be possible exploration of their role as an antichrist as well as basically being a tool of war for their papa’s self-gratification

6. Their pops would suck

7. More horror

8. Like, it wouldn’t not be funny…but horror’s my genre so….

9. They would not suck at fighting, but death is traumatizing and so is being the cause of it (squeamish)

10. That being said, could make friends with Death??

Have been thinking of an Digital Circus AU

For those wondering its an AU where all the characters from "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" are in digital circus and I might post more of this because I'm already liking this idea and so in order we got: Ted as Pomni - Personality wise they are to implied having Paranoia and even hallucinations and just like Ted Pomni like gets paranoid of the surrounding things within the Digtial Circus and along with it in the Pilot the others believe Pomni is having hallucinations themselves Benny as Zangle - Again personality wise its base how they are emotional but have differences with Benny having a childlike temperament where as for Gangle they wear masks but at most of the time have the tragedy mask as the comedy mask would mostly be broken Ellen as Ragatha - Now both Ellen and Ragatha are both somewhat sane (partially to the talk of Ragatha to Pomni about the digital world) with Ellen trying to make sure the group are together and making sure everyone is okay where for Ragatha does the same thing but in a way to make sure the others are alright and not abstracted when me and my friends were discussing about Ragatha they said that her design is of a Rag doll and we believed that in her past life when she was Human she was thrown around by others or basically taken for granted and also a people pleaser in a way and with Ellen it was mentioned I believe that the group somehow @bu$e her and also taken for granted too when she also have to make sure the group is together and that everyone is okay this could be implied in the book with Benny Nimdok as Kinger - Their both old but at the same time Kinger seems to be traumatized with many fan theories talking about his own wife and along with it he is also seem to be paranoid even sometimes screaming randomly and it is said that Nimdok would wander about randomly and then return back traumatized so I wanna implied that Gorriester as both Jax and Zooble - Now Jax is apathetic whereas Zooble say curse words even vulgar actions with that the middle finger but they both remind me of Gorriester who used to be a pacifist but then became apathetic and even being listless like Zooble lacking enthusiasm from it alone and I had to mix both Zooble and Jax for it but may change later on | AM as Caine - AM and Caine are like both AI but different personality although AM finds enjoyment and pleasure in torturing the five whereas Caine gives them enjoyment whereas being oblivious that they are becoming insane and want to leave and it was even confirmed by Gooseworx themselves so Yeah Now once more episodes come I may do more with it still and these are just sketches I have done so until then I'll just gotta wait and see

Little AI to Human headcannons

I've seen a lot of fanfictions or art about Caine as a human. Specifically an AI turned human (not human, then ringmaster, then human again). So, here are some of my own headcannons that I haven't seen anyone mention. I don't plan on doing anything with them, so if anyone wants to use them, please do!

Over stimulation. Before, in the circus, he could disable visual and audio processing. He could even go as far as to unload his virtual avatar and exist purely as a bundle of code. Now, he is essentially stuck in his body and can not manually turn his senses off.

Staring into space. He already does this in cannon, but I would imagine it would get even worse as a human. He would get too in his own head thinking about things and completely forget that his body exists at all times. He would either be impossible to drag out of this, or get annoyed that his train of thought was interrupted as he no longer has perfect memory.

Memory issues. Well, he wouldn't gain memory issues. It's more like he would be used to the perfectly memory of a machine. Suddenly storing information organically would be a massive downgrade for him, but he no longer has to worry about running out of storage so there's that.

Very good at math. This is another thing that he would consider got worse when becoming human, but compared to the average person, he's a physicist. He's familiar with all the light, force, and gravity based calculations and can even solve them reliably quickly. Again, he used to be able to do this in fractions of a second, so he considered it a downgrade.

Fascinated with the little details. He's familiar with physics because that's how computers render things, but moving to the real world, everything has insane detail to him. Something as simple as tearing paper has his eyes sparkling and lead him to talking about destruction physics. The fact that everything breaks differently every time fascinates him.

Insane knowledge about game design. I agree that Caine definitely would be almost completely ignorant about how the real world works and would essentially need a babysitter to make sure he doesn't die. But what I've seen very little about is how good he would be considered at design and programing. Man was literally built for this stuff.

Anxiety. As a computer, he could think 24/7 without consequences. As a computer, he could know the digital world on an extreme level. Quite literally know where everything is at all times. Obviously he isn't always monitoring this, as he didn't realize that Pomni had clipped out of bounds, but I imagine that he is capable of this. As a human, not only is he lacking this level of knowledge about the world, but he also can no longer think all the time without consequences. I imagine that he would still try to do this, thus manifesting as Anxiety.

impulse control. Now as a human with way less control over himself, I'd imagine what little impulse control he has just goes down the drain. Something interesting happens? He's walking over to look at it no questions asked.

Anger at his situation. To him, turning human is a downgrade. Yes, he is insanely happy to still be with everyone and see the real world, he's just unhappy about being a human in it. He would prefer to still be an AI system, just with a camera, microphone, and speaker on it so he can see, hear, and still talk to everyone. Of course, he would not voice this anger towards any ex circus member, as he views it as not their fault and therefor not their problem.

Now this one has to do with my own cannon adjacent AU, specifically the fanfiction I am currently writing a chapter 2 for. All you need to know is that Caine has been sending error reports, specifically about the inability to leave the circus, since the issue first started. These reports have gone unread.

10. abandonment issues. No one has helped him fix errors in so long that is has genuinely warped his view of reviving help. In the circus, no one (except maybe Kinger) knows how to read code and debug, but even as he moves to the real world and is surrounded by people who do know how his system works, he is still reluctant to ask for help. He's become used to asking and receiving nothing, and then being the one to fix everything. He's open to asking questions about the world and learning things, but when it comes to his own issues, nothing. Like, the kind of person to not ask for a blanket and then curl up under the rug. Also, he would hate sending text messages or emails because he hates having to wait for a reply. At least when talking to someone he can see that they are actually there and listening.

Okay, so I watched the pilot of The Amazing Digital Circus now that I've found out that it's a YouTube show which means I have access to it in my country. And boy, I've got some things to say:

Great voice acting and great casting especially for Pomni, Jax and Ragatha

I love and hate the visuals, I hate, that it looks so much like plastic, so smooth and textureless and so many contrasting and shrieking colours because I don't like looking at something like that (Idk it's kinda too much and not enough at the same time). But I love it because I'd say that's clearly the vibe they were going for, it really works for the story. It is supposed to look fake, over the top and like plastic to mimic children's toys. It's also supposed to give you the ick and overstimulate you because our main character is overwhelmed and doesn't feel save in this environment because Pomni clearly isn't save. But just as the character, the viewer will eventually adapt to this world.

The animation is really good, even though the characters have limited facial expressions due to being toy-like (for example can't really do many microexpressions with your nose if it's just a triangle) but that also means you can go for more cartoonish expressions which are animated very well and contribute to the overall surreal vibe. I think in this sense it reminds me of Toy Story.

I really like the character design, it's expressive, colourful and off-putting, some characters are more abstract than others, some more like toys. All of them seem fun at first but then you remember that those are human souls trapped in those bodys which they didn't even choose. On that note I got to say how perfidious it is that the new character in the circus is a harlequin/joker/jester when the one that they get rid of is a clown, you know, like a replacement. Each character has unique physical strenghs and weaknesses and I'm curious how the creators are gonna play with that. Nothing really fits together just like in a kid's toy chest.

I love the writing. It's only the "pilot" and yet they already set up so many things (like that computer and that "C&A" logo) and make you ask so many questions and they get you invested in the mystery element of everything, kinda reminds me of Gravity Falls. They clearly already have a vision in mind and know where they want to go. Given that they are indepentent it makes sense that their pilot is different than TV show pilots which are there to show to producers etc. so that they can decide whether to invest in them or not, like compared to the ATLA pilot this isn't a random episode but the beginning of a story. It's a good set up for most of the characters: Caine as the insane game master, Bubbles as their assistent who's not good at their job, Pomni as the new one through which we get to experience the psychological horror of being stuck in a digital world, Jax as the sarcastic jerk, Ragatha as the sympathetic and empathetic one who helps making things easier for Pomni, Kinger as the crazy old one, Zooble as the done-with-it-all one and Gangle as the shy and emotional one. I really hope we explore the last three a bit more in future episodes. They have really good jokes which help create the vibe by enhancing the dissonance between the childish setting and design but very mature and disturbing premise by making the humor mature and the horrifying concept funny which it really shouldn't be. And that kinda fucks with you once you realise that you are suddenly laughing at this very traumatising thing which plays dress-up as something fun. Everything is very kafkaesque (had to read "Der Verschollene" in school so we talked extensively about what that means) in the sense of the main character and we as observers don't know what the fuck is going on and how this world works and feel helpless and trapped in those structures which we can't understand because they're not meant to be understood. But it differs from Kafka's work because the main character hasn't got the personality of an empty slice of toast and it isn't just misery, as I said there is humor and it isn't dreary but colourful. The concept is well established as well, we're going to have little quests and adventures each episode while the overarcing plot is that the characters try to find out what's even going on and how they can escape. The world building is good, like they set up future locations, characters that aren't humans but you're not sure if they are some of the aforementioned NPCs (sun and moon), the void as a concept. But they leave enough unexplained to explore it in future episodes

Now the questions I have: Who or what created that digital world, how much authority does Caine really have, why is nobody allowed in the void, how does the weird headset trap you in this world, how long have the others been there, who are the other abstracted humans, what's going to happen with them, why all of this, where the fuck was that café where Caine and Bubbles chilled, did he really not know what was going on with Kaufmo (you know because he has all those eyes which supposedly watch all of them), for whom are they performing that theme song, why can't they remember anything about themselves except how they got to this world and that they shouldn't be there, what's with that computer, what was going on between Caine and the moon, what was that dial-up 3.40 minutes in, what's with the exit door because I don't believe for a second that he was trying to make this a gift for them, what does "C&A" mean, does the C stand for Caine, who choses the avatar of the humans? And most importantly: How will they escape?

While Mr. Ro'fone would actually like Caine, finding him extremely interesting as an character more than an actual person. But, he doesn't care for his views. Letting the people trapped here do the races, ram into each other, probably crash......for free??? Insane! He should, no, he NEEDS to charge for that! At least 30 dollars a ride, and a extra 30 dollars for damages! God, that'd be filthy, but it would get so much money!! Meanwhile, I'd imagine Caine would just think he's funny. I mean, there's this weird guy made of metal, rambling to him about putting coin clots into the cars, and how he'd get human money? He doesn't need that! But, it's interesting to hear his ideas, even if he'd never add them. Bubble though? Mike treats him like a Toddler. Bubble doesn't think about this.

Mag 134: Time of Revelation

As you can tell from my above comment, I am very surprised. How was I supposed to know. The Extinction. Again, killer name. Is that what's going to be the main villain of this season? Thats what it feels like so far. Also, interesting The Web and The End never tried a ritual. Plus, the idea of The Extinction wiping us out to replace us with another race to fear it in return. Thats cool. But that makes me think are we like part of the cycle? Was there a race before us but then they got wiped out. I guess not because The Extinction is a newer entity. Okay ignore that

One thing that's been bouncing around my brain is like..if any rituals worked. Like these entities have been around for I dunno since fear was possible I guess. Rituals, while they take centuries to set up, would be pretty common to succeed so I'm just wondering if any entity succeeded in a ritual that led to the world now.

The last of the trio of statements (MAG 57, MAG 106). I did point out that in MAG 106, her fingertips were burned. I guess its because she handled a god damn SUN. A DARK SUN?? Anyways Maxwell Rayner appearance, woo. Also, an explanation behind Daedalus which i throughly enjoyed. Although the part about the nyctophobe being used as a battery did make me genuinely sick to my stomach. Dunno why that was the most unnerving part of this podcast to me.

MAG 136: The Puppeteer

I love seeing different perspectives to the same story oh my god. Anyways this is related to MAG 110, obviously. I wonder if neil lagorio knew about..The Web from the beginning. Was he in cahoots? They said he would send people to watch previews of his movies and they were never the same so i feel like he was. Plus he was described with no warmth behind his eyes and that sounds very not human so.

Annabelle Cain. She popped up before in MAG 69. Nice to see she's branching off to other hobbies like killing old men. I think she killed him at least. And now that were talking about her, I'm reminded of Jons zippo lighter with the web design. Did she somehow send it? Because that zippo lighter was given to him in like s1 and it hasn't been used for any plot important stuff and I'm getting antsy over it, who sent it, I swear to god. Chekhov's Lighter.

1 album per day for a month: week 1 overview

Hi, yes, hello. It's your messy ass emo boy Waltjoy again with me doing dumbshit. But this dumbshit is not me saying shit about MCR for the 450th, it's me remembering that this is actually a music blog for once.

So basically, I'm very behind on albums that have been released this year. So I challenged myself to listen to albums that has been released in the year of our lord 2024 everyday for a month, and I've just finished my first week.

I planned this thing back in the beginning of this month, what happened? Devastating events. That's what happened. But who cares, lets get into the week overview/wrap up thing.

So our current week seemed to be themed around mostly alt rock with like, one metal album and an indie rock album. But literally most of it is alternative in some kind of way.

Yes, I know Preacher's Daughter did in fact come out in 2022, but I've been itching to listen to it in full and this was gonna be the only time I was able too. So like, lets get into it.

The Cure - Songs of a Lost World

Holy FUCK!!! The Cure is BACK!!!!! Time to prove how goffik I am or whatever Ebony D'Arkness Dementia Raven Way said.

Okay all jokes aside, its INSANE to me how Robert Smith is still dripping with creativity and talent. Especially after not releasing any new material in over TEN YEARS. Most bands who've been around as long as The Cure typically.....don't make any new stuff and if they do its pretty....... not good. But HOT DAMN, is this thing crazy.

Now, imagine if a portal opened up in front of you and out of that portal comes Robert Smith. Now imagine if Robert Smith proceeded to throw you into the portal and into another world and you're stuck in that world for like, 20 or more years. And all of a sudden the portal reappears and you're sent back right to the moment when Bobbie boy over here threw you into the portal.

That's basically the album. It's ethereal and very other wordly. The boys were COOKING up in this bitch. 10/10

Ethel Cain - Preacher's Daughter

Shout out to that one goth friend of mine who fucking loves Ethel Cain and desperately wanted me to listen to this in full.

Anyways, I'm big fan of Ethel Cain despite the fact it took me until this month to listen to this album in full. The all EPs she released? Yep! The album? Nah, I needed the perfect moment for this big beautiful bitch. And DAMN if she ain't beautiful.

Ms. Ahnedonia is able to mix Dream Pop, Slowcore, and Singer-Songwriter with elements of Post-Rock, Americana, and Ethereal Wave for this unnerving and distrubing album that follows this southern gothic story of a girl whom ultimately ends up dead by the hands of her cannibalistic boyfriend, while also exploring themes of generational trauma, grief, death, love(?), various forms of abuse, and human trafficking. It's like one of those films that people say are really disturbing but as an album.

But the aesthetic, the sound design, basically everything off of this album makes you feel like you're sick on a hot summer's day. But not any kind of sickness: its like a fever that makes you lighthead and delirious and mostly in-and-out concious most of the day, all while its that gross, hot and sticky "so humid that you can cut through the air with a butterknife" kind of hot day.

Aka, this shit is amazing. I can got on about this album 10/10.

Okay so, a little bit Alt Rock history for those who don't know: While Grunge and Shoegaze kinda flattered out of popularity during the 2000s, their were small circles that kinda took influences from both. Shoegaze bands with grunge influences, Grunge bands with shoegaze influences, ya'know. And later in the late 2010s and 2020s, Alternative Rock had a big resurrgence with a lot of Gen Z, including Shoegaze and Grunge. This also caused a revival in both of these specific genres. There have been multiples names to these; nu-gaze for newer shoegaze acts, grungegaze for shoegaze influenced grunge/grunge influenced shoegaze, and even zoomergaze for the more RECENT recent stuff.

And modern shoegaze band julie falls under the 'zoomergaze' word being thrown around. julie as band started getting attention from just their debut single, flutter (i completely recommend btw), alone back in 2020. Which was immediately followed with their EP Variable Bloom, which is only available as limited cassettes they handed out with three already released singles and an untitled track. Which was immediately followed with pushing daisies in 2021.

And this leads us to julie's debut album, which a lot of people have been seeing as a let down. And for me? Well, I'm julie's biggest fucking fanboy so yeah i loved it. I'm a shoegaze slut, i'll enjoy that shit as long as its not objectively garbage. Now, do I think this album is perfect? No! I actually agree with a lot of the criticisms of the album.

Literally my main two (2) complaints about this album is:

it doesn't have the rebellious spirit or weight of shoegaze and even thier previous works

parts of the album feel very same-y and meandering

Like, I legitimately think maybe they should've removed some songs and released this as another EP. But despite that, I think its still a pretty good debut. They're showing room for improvement???? on their FIRST STUDIO ALBUM????? HOW DARE THEY, THOSE SELL OUTS!!!

Okay but fr, despite its problems I love noisey shoegaze its an weak 8/10 for me

Poppy - Negative Spaces

Poppy has had a very interesting past couple of years post-I Disagree. The EAT EP, which is her best, and Flux back to back in 2021, and then........whatever Zig was in 2023 and now collaborating with Bad Omens and Knocked Loose....crazy ass year for a poppyseed.

After the release of Zig in 2023, which a lot people thought was............. an album. She then returned a year later with Negative Spaces, completely ditching the industrial pop dance stuff she was doing in Zig and going back to the Metalcore/Alternative Metal. And DAMN THIS GIRL IS ANGRYYYYYYYYYY.

The first half of the album is back to back loud in your face, and then the other half starts to dable into other stuff like alternative rock and there's even coldwave song. This album is honestly something you have to experience on your own because even the metalcore tracks vary from Knocked Loose inspired to BMTH inspired stuff.

Basically, 10/10

Linkin Park - From Zero

So Linkin Park came back and it was definitely an album! But fr though, Emily Armstrong's vocals do fit but this feels so.....washed? Like there's only three tracks on here I like and two of those are the only ones that really feel like Linkin Park. Besides that, it's just boring and dull honesty. Which is WILD considering we have a couple tracks with Emily screaming her heart out on here.

Listen to Heavy Is The Crown, that's kinda the only one worthing listening to. 4/10

Rachel Chinouriri I love you so much omfg. First off, her voice is so pretty???? It's just so soft and gentle??? And this album is so...comforting??? I feels very nostalgic of the 2000s, especially the music from that time. Some of these songs remind me of so many 2000s indie pop and indie rock its insane, and some of the stuff on here reminds me of Paramore's folk tracks like Misguided Ghosts on here too????

This album also seems to deal with a lot of themes about becoming an adult and dealing with tragedies, and BOY as an almost 19 year old still fucked over by the pandemic skip and dealing with life fucking me over DOES THIS ALBUM HIT ME IN THE FEELS SOMETIMES. AND DAMN DOES THIS GIRL KNOW HOW TO MAKE A POP HOOK.

Okay but Fontaines D.C. is a very interesting band to me personally because a band mixing post-punk, indie rock, and gothic rock into a pot??? Hell yeah that shit sound CRAZY. AND MOST OF THEIR STUFF GOES WILD.

And this does too. It'd just a really nice sounding indie rock album all about being in love and shit. It has this vibe I can't really explain that's like, the completely opposite of melancholy. It's like the honeymoon phase of a relationship, just happy good things ya know.

gay ass album in way because of that, 9/10. love it.
