there's an entire temple dedicated to the maintenance of the seasons in holodrum and protecting the rod of seasons and its four spirits. meanwhile nayru is just keeping the harp of ages in her basement

#legend of zelda #random stuff #oracle of seasons #oracle of ages #I'm replaying the oracle games right now #humans could make a temple dedicated to the easily understood cycle of seasons (which are kind of supernatural in this game)#time is only understood by the hippie singer who lives in the woods and is important enough to have a triforce barrier protecting her home #dude. oracle of ages is so much more grim than seasons #people in ages are like 'my husband left to go work on the evil tower. I'm never going to see him again'#a city got destroyed by an eruption in ages and you need to go back in time to save it #some kid got turned to stone and his grandma won't leave his side #meanwhile in seasons sure a city got flooded because of icecaps melting but everyone is ok. nobody needed to evacuate #there is silly music playing in the bg. and a legendary diver guy who lives there #despite the little girl with no parents to speak of stranded at the entrance eternally blowing bubbles because she can't swim #and the fact that there's a monster fortress right outside town preventing anyone from evacuating #I mean. despite the flooding the game makes it seem like the city was always 90% water

y'know, excited as I am to be playing in a new sandbox and getting to know a whole new cast of colorful characters (as well as making new characters and seeing how they interact with- and are shaped by the story), I've honestly just been feeling so emotional about getting to see my Inquisitor again. specifically about maybe, potentially, getting to see him interacting with Dorian again.

I spent the better part of a decade (on and off) with that guy roaming around in the back of my head, I had almost resigned to never really seeing him again by the time I made him in BG3 as a fun little AU, but now that there's FOR SURE a new game coming, and there's a REAL CHANCE that the both of them will show up again, I just....

I really want to know for certain that those two truly do get the happy ending they so deserve.

#squirrel plays dragon age #oc: raymond trevelyan #and yeah; i don't really think they'll do the traditional “marriage” thing or ever really entertain having kids or anything #because not only is the whole thing not their style; not really #but also gl;hf finding a Chantry that would recognize a marriage between a Marcher nobleman and a male member of the Magisterium #that's also one of the founders of the abolitionist; opposition party???#they'll cross him at every opportunity just to annoy him; i guarantee #that being said; if the game chooses to subtly shift “amatus” to “maritus”; i would not be mad at all #dare i say; i'd cry very real crocodile tears regardless of whether it's factual or just a sweet thing to say #i'm thinking that in my personal world “vir meus” would be something Dorian would say more often and with more gusto #“maritus” is “husband”; but “vir meus” i believe can kinda be understood as both “my husband” and “my man”#or. well. “man mine”; but that's just how latin kinda works #that feels more like how i see them in my head #Ray is mostly “amatus” and “vir meus”; Dorian is primarily “sweetheart” and “treasure”#and all is right with their little corner of the world #until great forces decide to toss the inquisitor at horrors both old and new huh

(which is a business write-off anyway)#C. they might be deathly afraid of their parents anyway #and D. if they're even given a choice to decide regardless #none of these kids were (or are) usually paid #if they are their privacy is still exploited for profit #it used to be an innocent pastime... but now it's mostly haunted by predators making playlists on YouTube (yes-- a real problem)#or more and more family vloggers sell privacy in exchange for advertisers or thumbnail clicks #it's. appalling.

Every morning my son and I play a game where I have to guess which pair of underwear he’s wearing and EVERY DAY I LOSE because he keeps STEALING HIS COUSINS UNDERWEAR and I’m not as familiar with HIS underwear because I don’t BUY IT and my kid cackles like the little feral underpants-stealing goblin he is and I think to myself “okay that HAS to be the last pair of his cousins underwear that he has squirreled away…..” and then inevitably it is not and I lose again.

Pretty sure I’m going to have to buy my nephew all new underwear for Christmas because I’m PRETTY SURE my goblin has stolen ALL OF THEM.

ginger island is so fun like yay yipee time to abandon my wife husband and four young children to tend to my farm alone for weeks at a time so i can go run around a volcano and collect walnuts. nobody in town seems to have an issue with this either.

#wife AND husband yes. i have a mod. i think every video game should let you amass 10-20 spouses #(its sebastian and abigail)#i do always build the resort and they do always come visit me and presumably leave the children for dead #i know neither of them are tending my farm either. it's very funny greeting both in the mornings and for both of them the dialogue is like #hey i know i live on a farm but im going to go eat frozen food and play video games. at least abigail fights monsters sebastian truly does #fuck all. i never get dialogue about the kids either i assume the juminos are doing it because i guess neither of their asses noticed them #sdv

I think she'd enjoy playing it, honestly. :3

* OOO THIS IS SO CUTE

* Younger Bonnie would definitely enjoy it. She may not be the best at it (too scared to go into the mines because of all the different monsters there are) and she tends to ignore a bunch of important things or do things "wrong" (girlie probably doesn't realize when festivals happen and hoards all her cool crops and gems instead of selling them 💀) but she's having fun and that's all Stardew Valley's about. No right or wrong way to play it

* I think she just mostly likes the decorating the farm and planting crops part. She's having a grand ol time planting and watering nothing but wild seeds because she has no money because she freaking keeps everything in her chests

* But Darling could always guide her. Maybe you could sit her in your lap and point out useful tricks and game mechanics (or just basic ones) as well as taking over the more "difficult" parts like fishing and mining

* It'd be a fun way to bond with her and help the both of you forget about the awful man keeping you captive

God, I will never not enjoy how surprised nearly all my younger students get when they find out how much I know about video games. Like... but you're my teacher... and you're nearly 30... and you're a woman... how can this be??? 🤯

#my favorite thing is when they start trying to convince me to play their favorite games and report back to them about what i thought of them #it's so cute #plus honestly they already normally get so shocked when they see my gaming laptop... then they find out i actually use it hahaha #i am proud of the fact that i've been told i type fast by 12 year olds... that is a real compliment... they type SO fast themselves #god... on another note one little girl once saw my laptop stickers and asked me what year i graduated from miskatonic university #and then i told her it's a fictional school and she said “oh so you didn't go to the college of winterhold either?” 😂#once one kid asked me if i have a husband and kids and when i said no to both of those she goes “oh i guess you're alone” 😂😂#and then i told her i live with my two best friends and we mostly play video games and board games and tabletop rpgs all day #and then she said she wants to do that too lol #i told her she should do whatever she thinks will make her happy ofc #it is just amusing when kids meet an adult who doesn't act the way they expect... but honestly they adapt to new info so fast #i mean ofc they do they are designed to learn basically everything is new to them #they are funny because they get so shocked and then instantly recover
