Eight of Pentacles 🌤️

Eight of Pentacles symbolises diligence, self improvement and learning new skills. Miki sits peacefully in an overgrown sunlit garden, having spent all day painting birdhouses. Instead of chasing his nostalgia, he's honouring it by creating something practical and new. Sometimes you need to let go of perfectionism and just enjoy the act of creating - it might not be a masterpiece that perfectly captures the magic of childhood, but putting a lot of effort and sincerity into a project will always be worth your time.

will you guys make fun of me if i over-explain this to death 🥺👉👈 so um the inspiration for this is the start and end of ep26: starting with kozue trying to save a birds nest as a tree is being cut down, and ending with miki putting up a bird house to replace the tree. the bird house doesn't repair their relationship - they don't speak in the moment except to insult each other - but when we see them next in the finale they're a lot more comfortable with each other! is miki's birdhouse an empty gesture or is it the first shaky step to finding an understanding? idk 😊 i think its neat

i thought itd be nice if he was approaching art and creativity in a more relaxed way, just enjoying learning a new skill. repeating the same song over and over will only get you so far <3 i think this boy needs a new hobby <3

some things:

the designs of the birdhouses are based off the twins' bedroom. they start off a bit more messy and simple but get more detailed towards the bottom. he's getting better thru practice! and the last pentacle is still a work in progress

the fireflies were originally going to be flowers, and i think i spent like 20 minutes googling native japanese wildflowers that would grow in a setting like this and also had the right flower symbolism i needed 🫠 but anyway in one of the early check-ins someone said they liked the fireflies and i thought sure!!!! sounds good lmao :D imo they imply a late summers evening and a long day of outdoor work which probably works better than me struggling with flower symbolism lol

the shoes looks good as hell before i remembered i had to cover them up with grass and the frame. now they just blend in to the piano a bit. sad!

for some reason i did all the line art for this and then painted it anyway. why did i do that.

i'm still kinda fond of the first one with miki studiously leaning over a miniature rose garden while the actual garden grows wild around him... one of the interpretations of eight of pentacles (reversed) is being so focused on details that you overlook the bigger picture, which i think really fits miki as the student councils Bloke Who Does Fuck All. he has the appearance of someone who's very analytical and sensible, but he's so locked in his own tiny perception of the world that he mostly just comes up with whatever conclusions suit him best, regardless of any harm he might be ignoring or outright causing. HOWEVER that's kind of an ungenerous interpretation for a relatively chill card 😌 also i had no ideas for a background and the composition didn't work with the border so rip to that idea

i liked the stopwatches as pentacles so tried to reuse it in the third design but was out of ideas by then. the seconds thumbnail with the birdhouses and the piano kind of came naturally so that's what i went with :) and it more or less stayed the same in the final result. i was thinking of adding some kozue presence, like empty milkshake cups or a birds nest or graffiti on the side of the old piano, but imo that would have made it too cluttered. i literally did forget to add paint pots tho OOPS

#7 Astrology

The biggest red flag in relationship (any relationship) in my personal life would be mercury square mercury. Talking to people with their mercury squares mine is like trying to make a cow understand human language. Hello! Thank you so much for such a sweet ask, and especially for loving Catshake! It means the world to me <3💕

Here are the main reasons why I love Shake: peak character design + charisma + he’s just super weird and funny and I love it!

As a character designer myself, I see a lot of genius things in his design and I admire them (like, have you seen how the shape of his lid changes when he’s angry? IT'S LITERALLY SUCH A COOL IDEA to come up with for a cup!). Also Shake's crazy personality gives me a lot of great ideas and inspiration for art. Like, not only do I have a lot of fun drawing him, but it also makes it easier for me to understand shapes and practice drawing them - his cup form is just perfect for that!

Also, after I began drawing him, I started practicing more on different cartoony shapes and characters I haven’t even tried to draw before, so Shake became a legendary character for me in some way :D When I’m drawing him, I’m just chilling. He also inspired me to start making fanart with other characters from the nostalgic cartoony shows/video games, like Jake Long, Spyro, and so on! I still have a lot of these in process.

And yeah! Honestly, I can’t even call myself a big fan of ATHF itself, mostly because I barely have time to watch any shows, and feel like I just love this particular character. I think his design and funny personality is what made me enjoy him in the first place, and I also have my own headcanons and vision for him. It's really sweet to realize that it all eventually turned from a little sympathy to A LOT of fanart, headcanons, different AUs, and of course he got a girlfriend, Cat :D I really love these guys, I enjoy drawing them, working on their story and relationship, and commissioning artists to draw them! Sometimes my friends also make me gifts with this duo and my heart just melts because I never thought anyone would be interested in drawing art with them but me, lol

Your ankle was destroyed.

It's bent in the wrong direction and trying to stand on it feels like hell itself. Take a hike, your friend said. The fresh air of the rocky mountains would do you good, they told you. On the other hand, they loved hiking.

You were inexperienced, so following a friend who hiked as a hobby, probably wasn't the best idea. The path was rocky, covered in rocks and you inevitably ended up tripping on one of them, breaking your ankle, sending you tumbling off a short cliff.

You thought for sure that you would die, landing on a bunch of sharp pointy rocks and bleeding out to death. But, you don't feel the sharp pains of the rocks in your back. Instead, the thing you land on makes you bounce slightly.

It felt like you were lying in a giant net. It was placed so that you were right above the said sharp and deadly rocks. You shifted your body a little so that you could see the bottom of the cliff, your breath hitched as you saw how close you were to the rocks.

Whoever thought of making their net here was a godsend, you think. You winced as you shifted your body back to face the sky, looking back at your friend who was worriedly looking at you.

"Shit... why did you follow me? I told you this path was dangerous! There was literally a beginners path on the other side-"

"Are you seriously blaming this on me right now? You begged me to come with you!" You hiss, trying not to move as you yelled at your friend. "Get me help. It's the least you could do." You mutter the last part, although it seemed like they heard it as their face contorted into one of guilt.

A few moments of them staring down at you guiltily, they finally leave you alone. You sigh, the pain was starting to numb as time passed on. It was well over swollen now, you could barely recognize your ankle.

Suddenly, a weight of someone else pulls you down slightly. You flinch, trying to get up in a panic. "Sorry- sorry, I fell down and fucked up my ankle. I can't get back up, I-"

He shushes your panicked ramblings. "I was wondering what human would dare to come onto my web but... you're a small little thing, aren't you?" He mutters, more to himself than anything. You feel him making his way closer to you.

Maybe it was the pain making you delusional, but a literal monster was standing in front of you and it made your entire self freeze in fear. An arachnid lower body and a human upper body,

You try and move your body, stand up and try and get away but your clothes get stuck to the spider web that you were on. Because of course that's what you landed on.

He tuts at your attempts to run away. "It's a web, child. You aren't going anywhere." His voice sounds soft, but his words are scary. Unless you wanted to run from his web naked, you couldn't try to move anymore.

Oh yeah, also your extremely injured foot. Which he notices, and coos sympathetically at. "Poor thing, normally humans would simply get wrapped up and saved for dinner," Shit, shit, shit. You're his dinner, you felt your heart quicken. "But you're so small, nothing like the humans I usually see on this trail."

A large hand gently picks your injured ankle. There was no pressure from his hold, but you hiss in pain anyway. "Wait!- Please, please let it go."

"I'm just checking your injury sweetheart, calm yourself. Oh, it's thoroughly broken isn't it?" He slightly turns your ankle to check the extent of the swelling, but that action forces a whimper from you.

"Alright, alright. I'm done, for now." You don't register the last words as relief washes over you, he lets go of your foot. Raising back to his full height, he tilts his head. A small smirk plays on his lips as he watches you squirm under his gaze, unsure of what he's going to do next.

He doesn't miss you flinching when he turns around. You stare at the monster that has been, weirdly enough, kind to you about your injuries and you just chilling on his web.

"Don't move." His voice becomes stern for a moment. You're pulled back into reality that you're on a spider's web, a spider. A spider monster, that is currently wrapping you up in his own web.

His red eyes pin you down. A warning.

You slowly get cocooned in silk, it was a lengthy process because he had to be careful to not wrap your injured ankle too tightly. How sweet. You can barely struggle though, it's still tight enough that your arms are stuck at your side.

"There, comfortable?" He pats your cocooned body, grinning at you. His sharp teeth tell you to nod your head, afraid that he might just change his mind and eat you anyways.

"Good. I've decided to take you in as my own, seeing as you clearly can't take care of yourself," Your eye twitches involuntarily at that comment. If he wasn't a giant humanoid spider you would kick his smug face. "Don't be pouty, child. I take good care of what's mine."

Where do I begin? She seems to have every hobby under the sun!- When I initally met her she said she mainly did architecture but had long gaps of having nothing to do so she'd try something new after she’d get work done… Baking, Knitting, Cooking, Painting, Pickling, Sculpting, Woodworking, Manicures— If it had something to do with making things she’d probably have tried it or planned to!

Then she moved here out of a shoddy apartment (I… Again, The cites sounds bad from like… The two people who talked about to me.) her horizons expanded and uh I think last week she showed me a LITERAL SWORD she forged in Garnold and Clukr’s backyard (They have a bunch of metalworking things above ground to deal with the smoke.) Also that thing was SHARP and TERRIFYING and she… She used it to butter bread…She’s really nice, I know she wouldn’t use that thing for anything nefarious but I think the buttering took me out and I started laughing- And then I snorted and it was embarrassing!!- But um my own silly sword story aside…

She usually has snacks for people and runs a bar in her basement on weekends (She got into brewing and winemaking like… I think a few years ago?) Mostly because she made too much one time and her boyfriend Oren has a really low alcohol tolerance and generally doesn’t like the smell but tried it anyways (He was apparently like absolutely conked out afterwards.) And she also really enjoys hanging out with the others here- So if you’re old enough you could go to the bar on the weekends! (I’m not an alcohol kind of person myself… But I know she’d definitely have non-alcoholic stuff too. Also don’t accidentally go in the cheese room. Oren’s pretty chill- Most of the time he’s either around his girlfriend Pinki or with his stepbrother Simon (But he tends to usually just hang around anyone if he can’t find those two, He says he hates being alone for too long. ) He always has his headphones on for noise sensitivity issues and sometimes you do need to be in front of him and wave to get his attention- Though most of the time he can hear others.

I’ve seen him skateboard down the walkways and do some pretty impressive tricks! (I at least think they’re impressive because… I can’t skateboard for the life of me-) He also plays a bunch of video games and streams them online! Most of the games he plays have cute little guys hopping from platform to platform- But he says he has like… A whole backlog he should get through at some point.

Our town’s sheriff! He’s a pretty jolly guy! Very willing to show new people around town and tell you about his desert adventures (… It can get kind of graphic at times- From what I know the desert isn’t the safest… or sanest place. Kind of a surprise he turned out so nice despite… Well You’ll probably hear it from him). And he has a honse named Cornbread he’d be willing to let people ride and pet (Cornbread’s adorable by the way!- A very good girl! She will try to eat your fur if its green enough through-)

I will warn you he gives like- The most devastating back slaps like… He doesn’t mean to hurt people with it- I think he forgets how strong he is. But he knows!- Don’t worry we told him! He says he’ll be more careful. He also doesn’t like loud pops or anything that sounds like gunshots it makes him panic- So please don’t set off anything like that in his vicinity. He usually patrols the town in the morning and afternoon and then winds down during the evening. Though we do know he has difficulty sleeping and sometimes sleeps standing up with eyes wide open. (Its kind of terrifying- You really can't tell he's sleeping until you walk up and see how unfocused his gaze is... Though he usually wakes up as soon as he hears something.)

.⋆𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟⋆. hiiiii honey! girl i totally get where you're coming from. honestly, learning to detatch from something that lies in front of you, every single day can be discouraging. here are some of my tips <3

detaching from the 3d: stop searching for validation! ˚₊۶ৎ˙⋆

★ its a skill to be trained! train yourself.

listen, just like learning to juggle, you're not going to be fully able to avoid looking at the 3d for validation first try! its just like learning to develop a more positive mindset/ self talk, you will not be a master at doing it as soon as you want to do it. if you want to rewire your brain, it needs to be trained; minute by minute, day by day.

so just remember that if you start to feel frustrated that you're looking at the 3d when you don't want to, be kind to yourself. the first step is realising when you may be searching the 3d, and then to just refocus on what you want to be focussing on. tunnel vision baby!

★ remember: you get to choose meanings

when something "bad" happens, YOU are the one percieving it which means that YOU get to choose how you take it/ what it means. example;

maybe someone didn't text you immediately back, chill. -> you don't need to overthink and spiral into the thoughts that they might not like you. take a step back, take things how it comes. remember that there are so many possibilities to why they read it but didn't reply straight away, not just they don't like you. maybe they really like you but they're trying to play hard to get, maybe they're thinking about what to reply to you cus they're nervous, maybe their mom called them and they had to go urgently, maybe their phone just died, THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER REASONS, so why focus on the one that doesn't help you?!!!!!!!

in short basically take things as they come with no meanings or assumptions attached to it and if you find yourself assuming something that makes you unhappy, direct your focus to something else.

★ learn to generate those feelings in your daily life

maybe you're craving an interaction or compliment from your crush, a job, a good grade, money, literally anything that happens to you, there is also usually an emotion that comes with it.

learn to be able to create that emotion on your own everyday whenever you get the chance. you do this by imagining the situation/ scenario. imagining every detail, how it plays out, and most importantly how you feel. because remember, your thoughts create your emotions, your emotions create your actions and your actions create your identity. and also it's not like you need to set some time out because i know how busy our days can be but its like while doing boring mundane stuff, when you're doing it, be the person who would have what you want. some examples...

if you're checking your phone, pretend you got a messege or confession or something from your crush and start smiling uncontrollably (although keeping in mind that you of course are the prize and they is lucky to even have your number)

before going to bed, imagine any scenario that you would like. whether its your crush complimenting you, or you getting a huge sum of money. just feel the feelings and drift off to sleep in that lovely bliss

when getting ready in the mornings, do the things you'd do if you were getting ready for your dream job and pretend that you actually are going to your dream job.

stay busy and distracted

while doing all this, remember that YOU HAVE A LIFE TO LIVE!!!!! please don't put it on hold trying to figure out how to detatch from the 3d. instead DO STUFF! get hobbies ,do things that you find fun, have picnics, go flower picking, play with your siblings, talk to your parents, make plans with friends, journal, paint, pick up a sport, take long drives, watch the sunset and discover how truly small and meaningless everything is. you only get one life so why don't you ponder on living it to the fullest.

so here i am now , sat in my car outside of his house at , 3:24 am , waiting for chris to get out of his house .

i had gotten a text about half an hour ago from him :

“i love u so much btw (can u please pick me up so we can smoke and chill i’m bored and i’m craving some fritos) your the best woman ever and u are so sexy (i’m literally begging you bro) you are allways right and u are the funniest person in the world(PLEASE y/n IM BEGGING YOU BE AWAKE”

after about two minutes of waiting , i hear a door slam loudly. my head shoots up towards the noise only to see my gorgeous boyfriend grimacing at the loud sound .

he allmost ran to the car , the pockets of his grey sweatpants bulging with objects i couldn’t decifer , along with a orange hoodie and neon green Birkenstocks.

“what the fuck are you wearing” i say through giggles as he plops down hastily in the passenger seat .

“it’s fucking half 3 what did u expect?” he says in a strangely high pitched voice in defense while adjusting himself in the seat and riffling through his pocket .

he pulls out the following items and throwing it in his lap :

a lighter , two pink roll ups in a plastic tub , his wallet, his phone , his charger , a pepsi , chewing gum , three vapes and a pair of fluffy socks .

“what the fuck chris.” i say in disbelief at the amount of utter shit he pulled out before meeting his eyes and tight lipped goofy smile

“what? the essentials” he exclaims shyly shrugging his shoulders

i shake my head in disbelief again before starting the car and pulling out the driveway. chris plugs his phone in and opens the can of pepsi putting it in the cup holder next to mine . he eyes said cup holder , which has my keys , a lighter , two pink pre rolls and a cherry lip balm and smiles .

“great minds” he hums lowly looking away and opening spotify on his phone. i notice this and speak up .

“can i put a request in babe?” i say eyes on the road but angling my head towards him .

“depends , if u try and put some emo shit on i will literally grab the wheel and swerve us into oncoming traffic” he says in full seriousness looking at me with raised eyebrows .

“can u queue up lust by skies and i know by travis please and thank you” i say looking at him for a second a giving him a teeth smile . that doesn’t reach my eyes , in an attempt to ask nicely for a change .

he just stays silent staring at me mouth agape .

“what?” i say smirking and glancing at him for a second

“ i just realized i am actually in love with you”

“JUST?” i shout widening my eyes and aggressively side eyeing him before looking back at the road .

he just laughs and puts his hand on my thigh , before playing lust as i asked .

his grip on my thigh stays as we listen to the music , drawing circles with his thumb . i inhale deeply and try to hide the smile forming on my face . he notices and smirks before looking away out the window . i look at him now as we are at a red light and take the sight in .

his sharp jawline being accentuated by the poor lighting from the red leds . his hair messily falling over his forehead and ears . his eyes being lit up by the streetlight , making them glisten slightly with his lack of sleep . i put a finger on his chin and move his face towards mine resulting in him looking at me in shock slightly. i put my hand on his cheek and rub my thumb along his jaw before leaning in and kissing him .

the kiss doesn’t last long as a car honks loudly behind us . opening my eyes and seeing his face now being green i stay there looking at him smiling , eyes flickering over his face .
