Jamie/Roy for the question meme? :D
when i started shipping:
oh boy, it was definitely The Hug™️
my thoughts:
ok like it's no secret that I SHIP THEM VERY MUCH because i love that roy is so soft inside and kind of closed off and jamie is kind of emotionally intelligent and SO OPEN ABOUT EVERYTHING and they both understand each other's lives so much because roy was a top footballer and jamie is currently one. i usually am not much into age gaps but i really don't mind with them, jamie being 24 (i assume in season 3) and roy being 36 or something?? i think jamie has daddy issues because of course he does and roy has "i want to take care of my loved ones a not normal amount" issues and basically they are perfect for each other
what makes me happy about them:
that they're both idiots but they both care about things and people and i think they complement each other so well idk
what makes me sad about them:
that i don't trust jason to give me them!!!!!
things done in fic that annoy me:
the kinky sex to non-kinky sex ratio. and it's always jamie bratting (which i just don't vibe with, neither the word nor the action i'm sorry i don't judge at all but it just ain't my thang ok) like i respect people who are into that stuff but please give me some fucking vanilla shit once in a while. also when roy is written as kind of (sometimes accidentally) abusive. yes he shouts a lot but this dude CARES so much and he wouldn't be THAT unable to communicate with a sexual or romantic partner
things i look for in fic:
someone punching james tartt and convincing jamie to block that fucker's number and jamie getting a found family and roy being so, so fond of that little prick that he can't help himself at all just so gone oh my god he's doomed but jamie's just so JAMIE (fond)
who i‘d be fine with them ending up:
keeley (both (please!)/either)
hea for them:
hmmm jamie gets on the national squad and roy gets to coach them and then of course they win the world cup or something and jamie accidentally gushes too much in the press about roy and roy is fond but annoyed and they kiss and lived happily ever after and also roy and jamie stay with afc richmond for their whole careers and they win it all, like 5 times, obviously, and at some point they adopt a kid because they would make hilarious and cute parents and roy stays grumpy and jamie stays making fun of him about it because he knows roy needs that
who is big spoon, who is little spoon:
roy refuses to be the little spoon because he's a repressed fucker until jamie tricks him into it once and from then on they switch it up but jamie loves being held so it tilts to jamie being little spoon more often
favorite non-sexual activity:
teasing each other about everything all day long like they just talk shit about each other and enjoy it so much

“Potter, Harry”
Whispers broke out throughout the Great Hall. All eyes seemed to follow the raven haired boy that walked to the stool. Some staff had waited years for this moment. Students, some of whom grew up hearing about the Boy-Who-Lived, couldn’t believe that they were seeing their hero. Some students had no clue what was going on but were caught up in the moment and begging those around them for an explanation. A few commented that the boy looked fairly small for his age. Minerva Mcgonagall pursed her lips at seeing the child again after ten years apart. She had to hold her typical stoicism, instead of wrapping up the boy she had adopted as her grandchild in her arms. She hated everyday that she had let Albus talk her into leaving him with those muggles. She knew Albus had caused her to forget their address mere moments after they had left the baby behind. Meanwhile, Severus Snape was sneering from where he sat at the head table. All he saw was a child who looked nearly identical to one of his greatest tormentors. A bully who had somehow stolen his first and best friend. He watched curiously as the hat was placed upon the small child.
One minute…
Two minutes…
Five minutes...The boy was a hatstall.
Ten minutes… Murmurs could be heard rumbling all around the Hall.
Twelve minutes… The brim of the hat parted and a collective breath was held.
“Headmaster, Heads of Houses, I need you to bring the child to the antechamber. I will sort the rest then the Deputy Headmistress will bring me to join you.”
There was a cacophony of noise as students had never heard of something like this happening. Minerva silenced the room with a bang from her wand. Pomona Sprout collected the child and escorted them from the Hall. Albus, Severus, and Filius Flitwick followed the pair. Severus turned to Albus with an incredulous look and spoke in hushed tones.
“What is going on, Headmaster? How is the Potter brat already causing problems?”
“Severus, my boy, I can tell you I haven't a clue what is going on. Are you planning to place your old grudge on the boy already?”
Meanwhile, the child was looking around in bewilderment, confusion, but also a begrudging acceptance. The adults in the room paying attention, noticed that Harry’s eyes seemed far older than the eleven years the boy actually was. All four tried to ask him questions but he remained stubbornly silent. Fifteen minutes went by, as they could hear the sorting continue in the other room. They heard Minerva start the feast before she joined them with the Sorting Hat in hand. She set the hat on a table in the room and conjured a comfortable chair. The other professors did the same, but she noticed Harry was still standing so she conjured a second chair by her side and motioned for him to sit. After he did, she turned back to the Hat.
“What is going on?”
“Why were you unable to sort the boy?”
“What in Merlin’s name is the problem?”
All of the adults tried asking their questions at the same time. They promptly shut up as they realized they were nearly shouting over each other. The Hat let out a put upon sigh, and if an inanimate object could glare they could all feel it.
“If you will all be quiet, I will tell you what the devil is going on. The child has multiple individuals in their head. Unlike the last time this happened, exactly twenty years ago, these multiples will not be sorted into one singular house. I regret to inform you that I sensed six individuals. Young Potter must simply be a child of Hogwarts, something that has not happened in two hundred years.”
The five adults sat back in stunned silence. Magical Multiple Disorder was incredibly rare. The person who was referenced from twenty years ago was sitting in the room as one of the heads of houses and knew intimately what caused that particular disorder to arise. Severus and Minerva looked at each other in horror as what the Hat said fully materialized in their minds. Six multiples, that meant Potter had gone through some of the worst abuse one could receive and all before age eleven. As one, they glared at the Headmaster. Minerva was the first to speak, and Albus had gone pale at the sheer loathing he could see in her eyes.
“Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbeldore, give me one good reason I shouldn’t hex you into oblivion right this instant. Explain yourself or I will permanently transfigure you into a cat scratch post.”
“Now dear…”
His response was cut off as a nasty stinging hex hit him in the forehead.
“Don’t you ‘now dear’ me you meddling old goat. You know what, sit there in silence. I am sure young Potter can tell us what we need to know.”
With that the headmaster was hit with four silencing spells of such power he couldn’t break through them. Although, if Albus was being honest with himself he most definitely deserved this. He had obviously failed Harry Potter for the child to arrive with six multiple forms. His eyes widened as he remembered what that truly meant. It was with great effort that he did not vomit as a wave of guilt swept over him. He focused back on everyone else in the room as Minerva asked her first question.
“Harry, do you know what the Hat is talking about? I am so sorry that we weren’t there for you but I promise we will do everything we can to help you. I couldn’t check on you, because this meddlesome man took my memory of where we left you. I wanted so badly to look in on you. Please, will you let us help.”
Harry took a moment to study the faces around him. He saw guilt, concern, anger, and despair, but he was happy that there was no pity. He took a deep breath and as he let it out, he also shifted. The adults gasped as suddenly a near identical twin to the child’s mother stood in front of them now. Severus went pale as a ghost and had to slam his Occlumency shields into place just to stay cognizant.
“Hello, I am Azalea, and I am our Nurturer. Harry is our Face, but he needs a moment. Yes, we know what is going on. After Hagrid took us to Gringotts, we pickpocketed our key and went back in. We met with our account manager and got recommendations for books to help us learn about what we are and the wizarding world in general. Headmaster, you are lucky that you never took money from us or had anything to do with those ridiculous books written about Harry Potter. My relatives are about to be bankrupt, by paying back what you set up to send them for my care. The writers and publishers of those books are also about to meet a lawsuit like they have never seen before.
Obviously, you all seem to know what causes this Disorder. My relatives were the absolute worst sort of Muggles…”
Apparently, Albus hadn’t fully learned his lesson as he finally broke the silencing charms around him. He proved just how senile he was going by daring to interupt Azalea.
“My dear girl, they are your family. You had to stay with them for your own safety.”
He flinched back as a dagger whipped past his nose and buried itself in the wood behind him. He stared wide eyed at the new form in front of him. Where just a moment ago had been a thirteen year old miniature of Lily, now sat a fifteen year old female version of Sirius. She was scarily similar to Andromeda or Bellatrix Black, if either woman had ever delved into muggle goth-punk fashion that is. Black curls ending in blue tips were pulled up into a messy mohawk. The girl was twirling another dagger between her fingers and glaring at Dumbledore.
“Feck off ya ol’ cunt. Safe, ya think ay ‘as safe with dem bloody rat bastards. I was created at four years old. FOUR ya fecking prick! I’s Zoey by the by, the Protector. If youse the bastard lef’ me ‘er, youse jus’ as much at fault. Argh! Fine. Harry wants to speak again.”
“Sorry about that. Zoey is quite aggressive and vulgar, and we would be here all night if I let her continue. As Zoey said, she appeared at the age of four, as did Freak and Jamie, who you will meet momentarily. Jamie is our Child, Freak is the Masochist. There is also Holly, the Slut. She appeared at age nine. Our Uncle decided beatings and starvation weren’t punishment enough. She and Freak are unique in that they would black certain things out for the rest of us. Those memories remain muted to the rest of us. Despite our collective mind, if you want details you will have to request those come forward. Be warned if you do that, we will probably slip into our Child form and need care for the rest of the night.”
The adults decided they did need to know more. First, they asked Freak to the forefront. Professor Sprout had to conjure a bucket which she immediately filled with the contents of her stomach. Freak was approximately sixteen and a mass of corded muscle. Over that muscle and covering his skin was crisscrossed dozens of scars. You could see them because all Freak wore was a pair of ripped sweatpants that ended at the knee. Roped scars covered his chest, back, and arms. The adults could see words; freak, monster, and whore, carved into his flesh at various points. It seems Freak had taken every wound and what it left behind onto his form. His size came from the sheer level of strength needed to survive all that had been done. While listening to Freak present his memories, Pomona and Minerva were brought to tears. Severus ended up summoning calming droughts for every adult present. Then they met Holly, who is around fourteen years old. She gave all of them appraising looks before informing them that her stories would have to come another time. The collective group was drained, hungry, and getting tired. The adults realized how late it had gotten. They decided Albus would make an announcement in the morning, and he went to give the closing speech and dismiss the students. As soon as he was gone, Holly told them Jamie was coming. The shift revealed a four year old boy, who was too skinny for that age. He had a stuffed black dog and a blanket that Minerva recognized as the one he had been left with that fateful night. Her heart nearly broke as he reached out to her.
“Nana Minnie, up?”

Shadowhunters Short Story #68.
It is a warm July day in 1911 when Alastair Carstairs begins to notice his sister Cordelia, acting very strange. It starts out with Cordelia being unable to join him or their friends on patrol or to go visit their mother, father and little sister, as often due to her being under the whether frequently. According to James, it is nothing to worry about but Brother Zachariah encouraged Cordelia to rest as much as possible.
Then once Cordelia was not so sick all the time, Alastair noticed she began to wear dresses that were just a bit too big for her. After that, he noticed that Cordelia was always holding something in front of her, when she sat down it was often a cushion, when she was standing up and walking around she would often hold a book in front of her stomach, and the few times she was not holding something in front of her, she would have her hands on her stomach.
It took him a while, but now Alastair is starting to put the pieces together and is almost certain he has figured out why Cordelia is being so secretive. She and James have been married for 2 years now, they have both spoken about wanting children and he has often caught James resting his hand on Cordelia’s stomach too, Alastair is certain that his sister is expecting, and he is going to get her to tell him one way or the other.
Currently the siblings are sitting in the living room of The London Institute, waiting for the others to get back from patrol, while Tessa and Will have gone to Wales for the day, to commemorate the anniversary of the death of Will’s parents.  Cordelia is sitting on the sofa, once again holding a cushion in front of her stomach, as she reads a book.
“Layla?” Aalstair asks, setting his own book down and looking at his sister.
“Yes?” Cordelia answers, turning the page of her book.
“Why are you holding that cushion in front of you like that?” Cordelia blushes and tries to continue on with her book.
“Oh, um, no reason, I just like to hold something while I read.” She attempts to divert her brother’s suspicions.
“Oh yes? Well why a cushion, is it not rather bulky and in the way? Why not hold a pen or something of the like?” Alastair asks.
“The cushion is comfortable, it gives me something to rest the book on.” Cordelia tells him in an unconvincing tone.
“Alright I will give you that but it does not explain why you are always holding a book in front of you when you stand and walk, or hide behind James or Thomas, or why I have seen you holding your stomach, or indeed why you were so sick a few weeks ago and have not gone out with Anna or on patrol at all for about 3 months now.” Alastair lists off all the suspicious things Cordelia has done the last few months. Right away, Cordelia knows her cover is blown.
“I... I.....” Cordelia falters. Alastair grins knowingly.
“You’re expecting, aren’t you?” Cordelia smiles lightly and nods, pushing the cushion away from her stomach and resting her hand on her stomach.
“We found out almost right away, but we did not want to tell anyone until later in the pregnancy, in case I lost the baby, we did not want to have to tell everyone that horrible news. We were going to wait a few more weeks, but I do not think it will be possible, I am only three months and already showing.” Cordelia softly says.
“You are happy, aren’t you?” Alastair warily asks, fully prepared to kill James Herondale if he has made Cordelia upset or unhappy in anyway.
“Oh yes, I am absolutely thrilled! Jamie is too, we have been so eager to tell you all.” Cordelia says in a joyful tone, her face lighting up with joy and excitement, making Alastair relax.
“I am very happy for you Layla, you are going to be a wonderful mother and I cannot wait to be a Uncle, I will be the baby’s favorite, of course, you know how babies love me, I think Evie loves me more than she loves mama and papa.” Alastair jokes, his smile widening as he thinks of his beloved baby sister, little 7 year old Evangelina Esta Carstairs, who is Cordelia’s double, except for her dark hair, which is just like Alastair’s.
“You will have to fight Matthew for the position of favorite Uncle, he will have the little one in the best clothes the world has to offer and keep him in good supply of poetry and plays.” Cordelia says in an amused tone. She knows Matthew is likely going to be the most excited out of all of their friends, now he has been clean and sober for 5 years, and is the most wonderful big brother to his little twin sisters, Jane and Matilda, he will certainly enjoy being an Uncle to Cordelia and James’ baby.
“Oh I will find a way to beat him, don’t fret. Do you know if it is a boy or a girl? Have you told anyone else?” Alastair asks.
“It’s a boy, the only other person who knows is Jem, he was the one he told me I am expecting, though as I said, I doubt I will be able to hide my bump for much longer so we will likely have to tell everyone else soon.” Cordelia says, caressing her stomach softly. Already she feels incredibly bonded with her baby, she never knew he could love someone as much as she loves this baby inside of her, and he is not even a fully grown person yet.
“Mama is going to be thrilled, and so is James’ father, a child that is half Carstairs half Herondale, he will be over the moon.” Alastair grins, imagining Will Herondale’s reaction when he finds out he is going to be a grandfather.  Cordelia laughs and nods her agreement.
“Yes he will, I think I am most looking forward to his reaction. What about you and Thomas, do you want to have children?” Cordelia asks. Alastair and Thomas have been together for 5 years now, they are very happy together and all their friends and family are supportive and loving, well except for Elias, he does not accept or acknowledge that his son is with another man, and only ever refers to Thomas as Alastair’s friend. It is very painful and upsetting for Alastair, and Cordelia and Sona are forever trying to get him to open his mind, they are both just so very happy that Alastair is now happy and in a healthy relationship with someone who truly loves him, they do not understand how Elias can be so close-minded.
“Perhaps, we would not be opposed to it, but obviously it is not as simple for us to have a child as it is for a man and a woman, but we know adoption is an option and we are open to the idea of having children at some point.” Alastair tells her.
“Well if you ever do, I know you will be a wonderful father.” Cordelia softly says, reaching out to squeeze her brother’s hand. No doubt Alastair has fears and worries that he will be a terrible father just like Elias, or that he will end up favoring a daughter over a son, like how Elias clearly favors Cordelia and always has.
Alastair smiles weakly and squeezes his sister’s hand in return.
“Thank you Layla, that means a lot to me.”
A few weeks later, Cordelia really starts to show and she realizes her bump is going to be impossible to hide from now on, so they decide to tell their friends and family. When they walk into the room above The Devil’s Tavern that James, Christopher, Thomas and Matthew still rent, with Cordelia no longer trying to conceal her stomach, they plan to sit their friends down and tell them the good news, however they never get the chance.
The moment they step through the door, Matthew looks to them and his eyes immediately travel to Cordelia’s swollen stomach. His hand flies up to cover his mouth, and a few seconds later, at the top of his lungs, Matthew yells
“Cordelia is expecting!” This of course, immediately draws everyone else’s’ attention.
“Thank you Math, now all of London knows, likely all of England.” James grumbles with a roll of his eyes.
“I am sorry Jamie but I... I am just so happy for you!” Matthew exclaims.
“Are you really? Expecting, that is?” Thomas asks, avoiding being rude and staring at Cordelia’s stomach, unlike Christopher who is gawping at her like he has never seen a pregnant woman before.
“Yes I am, a little boy, in January.” Cordelia gleefully says, her hand resting underneath her stomach.
“Oh that is absolutely wonderful! Congratulations!” Thomas says, getting up to embrace both Cordelia and Jamie. “How are you feeling Cordelia? Do you need to sit? You can have my seat.” Thomas kindly offers. For all intents and purposes, Cordelia is his sister-in-law, as well as a very close and dear friend. He knows from talking to his mother, that pregnancy can be very difficult and harsh on a person’s body. Sophie herself had suffered greatly while carrying Thomas, and Eugenia had suffered terribly when she was expecting her first child last year.
Before Cordelia can reply, she feels a prodding sensation around her lower stomach and looks down in confusion, only to see Christopher with his brow furrowed, studying her stomach, clearly having just poked her.
“Christopher.” Cordelia weary says. “Did you just poke my stomach?” Christopher blinks up at her from behind his glasses, his eyes wide and full of concentration and intrigue.
“Hm? Oh! Yes, did I hurt you?” He asks, completely oblivious to James trying to conceal his anger and not lunge at his cousin.
“Bloody hell Kit.” Thomas grumbles, covering his face in embarrassment, while Matthew laughs himself silly.
“Um, no it did not hurt but I would rather you did not touch my stomach at all.” Cordelia tries her best to keep her tone calm and civil, she knows Christopher is not being rude intentionally, he means no harm and is simply curious, but nevertheless Cordelia does not like being touched out of nowhere, and she most certainly does not like Christopher poking her stomach while she is 5 months pregnant.
“Why not?” Christopher innocently asks.
“It could hurt the baby, for one thing.” Cordelia says, pushing Christopher’s hand away when he tries to touch her stomach again.
“Kit, you know how you very much dislike when your mama fusses over you, kissing your cheek and ruffling your hair and such?” Thomas calmly asks. Christopher nods. He adores his mother but is not too fond of the fact that she loves to kiss his cheek and leave a lipstick stain there, and call him all sorts of pet names, her favorite being ‘My genius little boy’, especially in public, around others. No one in The Clave takes him seriously for a number of reasons, no doubt his mother’s constant fussing is one of them.
“Well Cordelia does not like you touching her the same way you do not like your mama fussing over you.” Thomas explains.
“Oh I see, I am sorry Cordelia, I was just curious about the baby, I did not meant to be rude or upset you.” Christopher apologies, earning a warm smile from Cordelia. It is hard to stay mad at Christopher, he is such a sweetheart.
“That’s quite alright Kit, just refrain from doing it again.”
“Well now that that is sorted, I have a question. I am going to be the little chap’s Godfather, right?” Matthew hopefully asks from his position stretched out on one of the couches.
“No, I should be Godfather, I am the most sensible out of us three and will not encourage the little fellow to do reckless things, unlike you Matthew.” Thomas argues, surprising everyone, seeing as Thomas is very much not the argumentative sort.
“I think I should be Godfather, Matthew you are already the twins’ Godfather, and Tom you are Benjamin’s Godfather, I am nobody’s, so therefore I should be Godfather to Cordelia and James’ baby.” Christopher points out.
“Sorry boys, but I am afraid that non of you are going to be this little one’s Godfather, we are going to ask Alastair.” Cordelia softly says. She has no doubt that Alastair will be a wonderful guide and inspiration to his nephew, and she knows that if anything were to happen to her or Jamie, Alastair would raise his nephew with just as much love and care as Cordelia and James would, and would bring him up to be a wonderful and amazing person.
“I am very insulted and utterly heartbroken! I hope you are proud of yourselves James and Cordelia Herondale, you have absolutely shattered my heart and all my hopes and dreams, I shall never recover!” Matthew cries dramatically, throwing his head back and throwing his arm over his face, all the while fake sobbing.
“Shadowhunting is wasted on you Math, you would be an excellent actor.” James says, shaking his head at Matthew’s antics.
“Oh I know, it is absolutely dreadful! I belong on the stage, not in battle!” Matthew exclaims, peeking at James through the gap between his arm and face.
Cordelia and James spend a few more hours with The Merry Thieves, before they decide to pay Will and Tessa a visit at The Institute and tell them about the baby.
As predicted, both Tessa and Will are utterly thrilled, especially Will who is delighted that his first grandchild will be half Carstairs and half Herondale, and Tessa is very happy that the baby is due around the time of her birthday, these last few years birthdays have been bittersweet for Tessa, though there is only a year between she and Will, Will is starting to show his age, while Tessa looks exactly as she did at 21.
Of course it is not that Will is going gray and getting wrinkles that upsets Tessa, she will always love him no matter what, but every sign of aging that Will shows and she does not, reminds her that one day in the not too far future, she will loose Will and she will never be able to have the comfort of knowing that one day they will meet again. However, knowing that this year she will have a sweet and beautiful grandchild to love, makes the idea of her birthday a lot less frightening and painful.
The months fly by, with Cordelia receiving check ups from Jem every few weeks. James wanted to decorate the nursery by himself, insisting that Cordelia should rest and let him do all the hard work, however one steely look from his wife and James relented, and together the two of them decorated the nursery, often ending the day with Cordelia sat in the rocking chair under the window of the nursery, with James kneeling by her side, his head bent to her stomach as he talks to the baby and reads to him.
Just two days before her due date, Cordelia feels the first contraction, when walking through Hyde Park with Lucie, discussing Lucie’s first novel that was published just weeks before. When Cordelia felt the first pain, it sends Lucie into a right panic, one would think she is giving birth, not Cordelia. Lucie quickly helps her parabatia back to the carriage, where Cyril Tanner’s son Edward Tanner, is waiting. Edward was born just a few months before Lucie, and like his father he now serves the Shadowhunters at The London Institute, his main duty being chauffeur, like his father.
Just 2 hours after feeling the first pain, Cordelia gave birth to her son, a beautiful and perfect little boy who is the very image of his father, with thick black hair just like James, brown skin like Cordelia and somehow, big grey eyes, just like Tessa.
While Tessa and Lucie stayed with Cordelia while she labored, James, Matthew, Christopher, Thomas, Anna, Alastair and Ariadne waited outside, in the small area that they use as a waiting room for the infirmary. The boys had come to support James and meet their nephew as soon as possible, while Anna had shown up to keep the peace, knowing James would likely be very on edge and snap at someone, causing a row, and Ariadne had come to help her wife keep the peace, and to be another person to help Cordelia (who she is close friends with) if she so wanted. Before they came to The Institute, Anna and Ariadne had dropped Benjamin off with Cecily and Gabriel, who were thrilled to spend time with their grandson.
Undoubtedly, the two most nervous people in the room are James and Alastair, James worried about his wife and son, while Alastair is concerned for his little sister and his nephew. James has been pacing up and down the length of the room practically the whole time, wincing every time he hears Cordelia scream in pain, from the infirmary.
Alastair meanwhile, has sat quietly the whole time, worrying at his lip, also wincing every time there is a yell of pain.
Now, as he sits thinking of his sister and wanting to do anything and everything he can to relieve her pain, Alastair feels a warm hand land on his shoulder, and he turns to see Ariadne sitting beside him and looking at him with concern.
Years ago, when Charles broke off his engagement with Ariadne and Alastair broke off his relationship with Charles, Ariadne and Alastair became fast friends, both knowing the pain of feeling like you are not good enough in your parents’ eyes, as well as the pain of being attracted to the same sex, when so many people view it as wrong, evil and sinful. They also both knew how horrible Charles can be.
Ariadne shared how though she was glad not to be marrying Charles any longer, she was upset at how he treated her, brushed her aside, almost ruining her reputation while she was unconscious after being attacked by a demon.
Alastair in turn told her how hurt and angry he was that Charles simply seemed to use him, how he claimed he did love him but would never even consider telling anyone else, not even his parents, who he knew were very open and accepting, due to Matthew never hiding the fact that he is attracted to both men and women. It was obvious that Charles loved nothing and no one more than his job.
Over the years they grew closer and closer, and have been very good friends for a long time now, Alastair is always first on call for babysitting little Benjamin and is undoubtedly one of his favorite uncles, and one day if Alastair and Thomas have a child, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Ariadne will be godmother and the little one’s favorite Aunt.
“Are you alright?” Ariadne quietly asks. Alastair smiles weakly and nods.
“Yes, thank you, just worried for Cordelia and her baby.” Alastair replies. Ariadne slips her hand into his and squeezes it reassuringly.
“Of course you are, she is your sister and she is going through something right now that you cannot help her with, I cannot fully understand as I do not have siblings, but you know I love Kit and Alex as my own brothers, I cannot imagine hearing them in such awful pain and being able to do nothing to help them.”  Ariadne softly says, trying her best to sooth and re-assure her friend.
“It is possibly one of the most awful things I have ever endured, I have always felt it my place to protect Cordelia, that is why I kept my father’s drinking problem a secret, even though it killed me inside I could not let it affect our Layla. Now I wish I could go in there and take all her pain, I would do anything to help her.” Alastair quietly says in a strained tone.
“Oh Alastair, I understand this must be absolutely terrifying for you, but childbirth is completely natural and Cordelia has the best medical support one could wish for, Brother Zachariah delivered practically everyone in this room, apart from you and I, and he cares about Cordelia just as much as you do, he is your family after all and he will do anything and everything to ensure that Cordelia and her baby are well and healthy.” Ariadne gently explains. Before Alastair can reply, they hear a loud cry coming from the infirmary, causing James to immediately stop pacing.
Just a few minutes later, Tessa appears in the doorway, smiling brightly at them all.
“Mama, are they alright? Cordelia and the baby?” James asks in a concerned tone, rushing to his mother’s side.
“Yes my love, they are both perfectly well. You have a very healthy little boy, Jamie.” Tessa softly assures him.
“Can I see him? and Daisy?” James hopefully asks.
“Of course, Cordelia has been asking for you. Come on.” Tessa gently guides her son into the infirmary, to meet his son for the first time.
About twenty minutes later, Alastair is called in to meet his nephew, and in no time at all he finds himself sitting in a chair by Cordelia’s bed, cradling his tiny little nephew in his arms, utterly relived that both he and Cordelia are alright.
“Well I have to admit it Layla, you made one very handsome and adorable little boy.” Alastair says in an amused tone, softly stroking the baby’s cheek. Cordelia laughs lightly, leaning back into the pillows behind her.
“Thank you, I think so too.”
“Have you chosen a name for him, or shall he forever be ‘Little fellow’ and ‘Little Chap’?” Alastair asks. Cordelia’s smile broadens at this, excitement lighting up her face.
“His name is Owen Alastair Herondale.” Cordelia proudly announces, rendering her brother absolutely speechless.
“I.... Oh Layla I.... I honestly do not what to say.” Alastair stammers. He had not been expecting this at all, but he simply could not be more thrilled.
“Well I do have one other thing to tell you that I very much hope you will have a response to. You already know that we have asked Lucie to be his Godmother, and Alastair, James and I would love it if you would agree to be Owen’s Godfather.” Cordelia softly says. Alastair quickly feels tears fill his eyes, and his throat tighten. Not too long ago he was certain that no one would ever care for him, after the nasty rumors he spread about Matthew Fairchild, as well as Charlotte Fairchild and Gideon Lightwood. Yet here he is now, holding his nephew who was named after him, being asked to be the little fellow’s Godfather, while his friends and boyfriend wait outside just a few feet away.
“You seem rather instant on making me cry today Layla.” Alastair laughs, wiping at his tears. “But I shall forgive you, and of course I will be Owen’s Godfather, it would be my absolute pleasure and honor.” Cordelia grins and leans forward to peck her brother on the cheek.
“Thank you, I love you Alastair.” Alastair makes a face and dramatically wipes at the spot where Cordelia had kissed him on the cheek, before smiling softly at her and leaning forward to kiss her forehead.
“I love you too Layla.”

As long as you love me | Brynn’s Future
"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." - Lao Tzu
Tumblr media
At the end of her scavenger hunt, she finds Allister and accepts his proposal! And they get married.
Edwin’s attempts to break them up obviously fail, and he is (ultimately) forced to begrudingly accept the two, but he always took digs at Allister whenever possible.
They struggled for some time to conceive due to some fertility issues (meth has been known to affect male fertility and while the research is a little more uncertain in this area with anorexia, pregnancy would be more difficult for Brynn). However, fertility treatment in the 70s was almost better than modern times. The Turners offered to help financially, in exchange for a solid say in the raising of Brynn’s children, but the Woods refused and saved up to pay for treatments themselves (with a donation from Madelyn, if I get the okay from Kay on this, but I could see Madelyn doing this for Brynn so she could have the chance to have babies. I can see a “I can’t have babies, but you can” moment because nothing says the infertility issues are always permanent in either case)
Each pregnancy was increasingly stressful for Brynn, and she suffered from postpartum and near relapse after their first son. Avery moved in with them after each birth to help keep her sister on track. There are three dearly loved children, two boys and finally a girl. The boys were born with low birth weights, Oliver remains a little smaller his life, but you’d never know Art was born small. The threat of relapse is very real with each pregnancy, but Brynn clings to her incredible support system (Allister, Seth, Madelyn, Jamie, Avery, Hailey, Cain, Brett, her therapist, etc...etc...) and does not relapse.
Brynn becomes a bookkeeper, between her own struggles and watching her father she possesses a ruthless and business-savvy mind. She doesn’t marry a politician or her father’s apprentice, she marries a mechanic and he married a very smart, ambitious woman. She encourages him to buy his own garage eventually, and she’ll run the business side if he fixes the cars. She’s a wife, a mother, and a businesswoman. Oh, and she’s so unbelievably happy. So I think they ultimately do very well for themselves, but except for Brynn’s fashion sense, you’d never really know they had as much money as they eventually do.
Hayley and I never really got to talk about Allister and Brynn’s future or children much aside from them getting married, but these are my headcanons for them. Just FYI, if Hayley ever comes back, I’m open to changing anything she doesn’t agree with.
Brynn allowed for comic book names, as long as they could also pass as normal names too. So yes, they started their own little JL.
Tumblr media
Arthur “Art” Harold Woods
- Ironically, Art is on the swim team - He’s got his mother’s popularity, and he’s definitely big brother. - Unfortunately, some of Edwin rubbed off on this kid, and sometimes people are surprised that he is the product of two of the sweetest people Tulsa has ever seen. Art often sees more eye-to-eye with the Socs than the Greasers, and his main goal is to be his grandfather’s apprentice. - Regardless of the above, he is very protective of his siblings and his parents. Talk negatively about their past, you’ll see Art’s fist up close and personal. He’s really a good guy and is definitely one that grows out of the jerk phase...eventually. - His middle name, Harold, is a subtle nod to being named after his father. Hint: Allister’s alter ego ;) - Mama’s boy
Tumblr media
Oliver Scott Woods
- Allister’s clone - If Oliver is lost in a crowd, just shout “I love Batman!” And he’ll appear to tell you all about how you’re wrong. - Dreams of owning a comic book store or taking over the family business, maybe both - Dungeons and Dragons player - As Art is popular, Oliver is unpopular. However, despite ALL their differences, the brothers are best friends. All of the siblings get along really well. - He never smokes or touches a drug (not counting prescription cases) for all his life, refusing to risk experimentation and how much like his father he might be in that area
Tumblr media
Diana Lynn Woods
- The baby girl - Was almost named Dinah, but as she was their last miracle or “wonder,” (due to the pregnancy difficulties, they knew they would stop at three), they decided Diana was more fitting. - She’s a lot like Brynn, though quite a bit more outspoken - If not for her Daddy’s girl heart, she’d be likely to follow in her eldest brother’s footsteps. Though she gets along well with both Greasers and Socs, she’d never wish she was a Soc instead because it’d be disrespectful to her dad. - A devoted student of Hailey Adams’ dance class, and she dreams of dancing professionally someday. - Rebels against big brothers’ overprotectiveness. - She isn’t a big fan of the Dodgers, even if she does try to respect their leadership, because of how Rodney tended to treat her mother.
The children absolutely are the closest with the Mann kid(s) (even despite the slight age difference with Thomas, also not sure if they end up having more than one), the Adams’ bunch, and Jacobs’ (if Ricky and Madelyn adopt...er, what do you mean we don’t know if they actually married? Huh? lol)
Fun fact: all the kids’ middle names are tied to Green Lantern. Harold is the full name of Hal, Alan Scott is the original GL before Hal, and Jennifer Lynn is original GL’s daughter.
Also, the idea of Brynn dying during a rumble did cross my mind (I have the gifs, y’all), like full circle to this generations’ parents, all Lainey and Landon-style, but Hayley and I gave blood, sweat, and tears to Allister and Brynn finally getting their well-deserved happiness, I wasn’t taking it away in a flash-forward headcanon. SOOOOO....Everyone lives!!

One Shot: Growing
Requested by anon: “Will you please write a short story about how Tyler and Jamie are seriously considering adopting another baby or very young kid and decide to talk to Dusty and Riley about it?"
“Dusty, Riley! Come down here for a second!” Jamie called upstairs to his kids from the living room.
“Are we in trouble?” Dusty called back. He wanted to prepare himself just in case. He didn’t think he caused any trouble lately, but you could never be too sure when your name was Dusty Benn-Seguin.
“No, unless there’s something on your conscience you wanna tell me about?”
“Nope! I’m good!” Dusty chuckled and jogged downstairs with Riley following closely behind. When both kids entered the living room, they saw their dads sitting knee-to-knee on the couch. It instantly threw up a red flag in their minds, as this was an unusual sight. The last time they were greeted by something like this was when Jamie announced his retirement from hockey to the kids.
“What’s going on?” Riley asked timidly.
“Have a seat, baby. Nothing’s wrong.” Tyler hummed reassuringly. Riley sat down next to Dusty on the oversized ottoman that was directly in front of their dads. She was terribly confused as to why there was suddenly a family meeting. If it wasn’t bad, and they weren’t in trouble, what could this possibly be about? Were they moving? Were their grandparents moving in? Were they getting another dog? All these possibilities swarmed Riley’s thoughts until Dusty spoke up and took her out of her daze.
“So, what is this about?” Dusty asked. He was just as curious about this meeting as his sister was.
“Well, your dad and I have been talking lately, and we didn’t want to mention anything to you two until it was certain.” Jamie started out, and looked at Tyler for backup. He was nervous about how the kids were going to take the news.
“Until what was certain?” Riley asked, feeling uneasy about them beating around the bush.
“What would you two think about us taking in a child from foster care?” Tyler asked. He was equally as nervous as Jamie, but after wrestling with the idea for a long time, he finally felt he was ready to give this a shot. He wanted so badly to adopt a child, but it was difficult for them when Dusty and Riley were little. He thought now would be the perfect time, but he wasn’t sure if the kids would agree with him.
“Another kid living with us?” Dusty asked.
“Yeah, we would take care of another child who needed us.” Tyler nodded. “It’s like adoption, only the child could potentially go back to their biological families. So it’s not long-term if something just ends up not working out.”
“I’m not really sure how I feel about that to be honest.” Dusty shrugged and looked at his dads sadly. He felt bad, because he knew they were obviously excited about it, and he didn’t want to crush their hope, but that was a lot to take in.
“That’s okay, bub. You don’t have to have an answer right now. I know this was really random for you guys, and we didn’t expect you to be on board with it immediately.” Tyler hummed, giving Dusty’s knee a reassuring pat.
“Can I ask what brought this up? Like why you’re suddenly looking into this?” Dusty asked them. He hoped he wasn’t coming off as rude, he was just curious about the whole thing.
“We’ve actually been talking about it for a couple years now. I really wanted to adopt after we had you and Riley, but it just never happened. So a few years back, I thought we would just apply to see what would happen. We didn’t know if we would be approved or not, and it’s a really long process. So when we got approved, it felt like this was supposed to be happening at this moment in time. We truly think this might be our next calling as a family. If we didn’t believe that, we wouldn’t be bringing this up to you guys.” Tyler looked at his kids to see if he could read their body language. The room had suddenly became very quiet, as both of them seemed to be in deep thought. Jamie finally spoke up to end the dreaded silence.
“Your dad and I love you two more than anything in this world, and nothing will ever change that. Just because we got approved doesn’t mean we’re doing it. This is just as much your decision as it is your dad’s and mine. If you’re not comfortable with it, we won’t do it, simple as that. We just ask that you take your time thinking about it and ask us any questions or concerns you have.”
“Is it going to be a boy or a girl? And how old will they be?” Riley asked.
“It’s a boy, he’s about eighteen months, and his name is Elijah.” Tyler smiled.
“It’s a baby?!” Riley gasped and put her hands over her heart excitedly.
“Yes, it’s a baby.” Jamie chuckled fondly at his daughter.
“Did you want a baby?” Dusty asked his dads. He couldn’t hide the hurt in his voice.
“We didn’t have any sort of preference whatsoever. The agency evaluated us, and then they determined which child they thought would work best with us.” Jamie said. Dusty nodded and kept his eyes downcast.
“Hey.” Tyler frowned and lifted Dusty’s chin so their eyes met. “Don’t bottle anything up. Talk to me, bub.” He said softly. Tyler wanted his kids to know how serious he was about their opinions being heard through all of this. Even though he wanted this to work so badly, he wouldn’t go through with it if one of his kids felt like they were getting kicked to the curb.
“It’s nothing, it’s stupid.” Dusty sighed and shook his head.
“Your feelings are not stupid.” Jamie said seriously. “You can tell us anything, Dust.”
“I just…I don’t know. I guess I feel like I’ll be forgotten when I go off to college next year since you’ll have a baby to take care of.”
“Dusty.” Tyler frowned. It broke his heart that his son felt this way. “You’re my baby too. You and Riley will always be my babies. I don’t care how old you are, you’ll never be too old for me to baby. There is nothing and no one that will ever change that. Do you understand?” Tyler asked. Dusty nodded softly, he could see his dad’s eyes tearing up slightly, so he knew he was being sincere.
“You do realize that when you go to college, we’re going to visit you more than you want us too, right?” Jamie chuckled, hoping to lighten the mood.
“Yeah, I figured.” Dusty smiled and nodded.
“Come give me a hug.” Tyler hummed and opened his arms. Dusty chuckled and rolled his eyes, but obliged to his dad’s request. Dusty would never admit it, but on the inside, he loved that sort of affection from his dad, especially in a moment like this. He needed to keep his bad boy image going, so he always made sure to act like Tyler’s babying was ridiculous to him.
“See? Never too old.” Jamie chuckled, as Tyler engulfed his son in a warm hug.
“So, when does Elijah get here, Papa?” Riley asked.
“Not until next month. We’ll have the opportunity to visit with him, so he can get acquainted with our family before he comes to stay with us. That will give us a chance to determine if our family is ready for this or not as well. We’re not going to jump into anything. This is something we all need to ease into.” Jamie hummed.
“How are you two feeling about this? Do you think this something you’d be okay giving a shot?” Jamie asked.
“I think so.” Riley smiled and nodded excitedly.
“Yeah, I think we should give it a shot.” Dusty nodded.
“Really? You’re sure?” Tyler smiled. He couldn’t believe this was all coming together. He had hoped for so long it would, and to see it coming so close almost seemed unreal to him.
“Yeah, let’s do it.” Dusty smiled. He was happy that his dads were happy, but he knew this would be good for all of them. Despite his initial worries, he was excited to have a little brother. He wanted to be a good role model for the little guy.
“Alright, bring it in.” Jamie smiled and stood up from the couch before opening his arms. The family came together for a group hug like they always did after emotional family moments.
“Oh, and just so you guys know.” Dusty hummed to break the silence. “I’ll train Elijah to be my mini me, so when I go to college, he’ll be here to give you grey hairs since I can’t.”
“Oh is that so?” Jamie chuckled and rolled his eyes.
“Yup.” Dusty said, popping the ‘P’ at the end.
“We wouldn’t expect anything less.” Tyler smiled.

Flatliners or They Almost Said The Name So Many Times!
Well, it’s safe to say that Flatliners didn’t fall flat for me. I want to start by saying that I’m well aware this is a remake, but I have not seen the original, so this is an analysis purely of the newer film. I think having expectations in the minus numbers probably helped, so keep that in mind when I say that this film was full of surprises. The first being that I didn’t have a heart attack and explode - I’m prone to panic attacks that manifest as palpitations and thinking that I can’t breathe, so I’m personally very proud to have survived a film that revolved around people defibrillating themselves to death, then back to life, followed by pulling big massive tubes from deep in their throats. Anyway, far more importantly, the women in this under-advertised horror/sci-fi B-movie were actually pretty fantastic.
*Flatliners spoilers follow*
The film opens with two women - Courtney (Ellen Page) and her younger sister Tessa (Madison Brydges). One of them dies almost immediately, which is obviously not so good, but a flashback to the loss of a sister to serve as plausible character motivation is at least somewhat better to murdering a developed female character as an “excuse” for a man to feel emotions. This scene is then closely followed by the first conversation of the film, between Courtney and her fellow med-student Sophia (Kiersey Clemons), who talk about the stresses of school so it seems that Flatliners passes the Bechdel test. Not that that’s the be all and end all of feminist representation, but it’s a good start. As long as we’re ticking boxes, the main characters form a gang of five, three of whom are women, so well done again Flatliners.
After this great introduction, there were a couple of moments that gave me the impression that this film was going to be gross - the introduction of Jamie (James Norton) in general, I can’t even remember what he did but he made some primal part of me bristle and want to get away from him; Dr Wolfs (Kiefer Sutherland) putting crazy pressure on all the students, feeling the need to physically assert his authority by whacking his cane around the place and Courtney’s initial resuscitation becoming weirdly sexual and about male strength when Jamie is told to, “get in top of her if you must” and straddles her.
However, these were the exception rather than the rule. We were shown a variety of female relationships - the aforementioned sisterly bond, however brief, as well as positive platonic friendships. On the other hand, less healthy relationships were also shown, such as Sophie’s fraught relationship with her mother (Wendy Raquel Robinson) and Sophie’s past bullying of classmate Irina Wong (Jenny Raven). That women are allowed to exist all along the spectrum of morality, to make questionable choices in a variety of stations as well as being exemplary, paints them as more three dimensional characters. Furthermore, Irina’s forgiveness of Sophie is an emotional and powerful moment, displaying  different kinds of strength in both women - the courage and honesty to ask for redemption and the selfless benevolence to give it.
The way that women interact with men is also unexpected as, for the most part, they ware in control - save for a couple of examples such as Marlo (Naria Dobrev) having to leave the fun and games as soon as she is silently summoned by the arrival of her brother (Steve Byers). Courtney uses Jamie by allowing him to believe that she wants to meet him for sex, when really she just needs someone with a huge ego and very questionable morals to kill her for her experiment. She adapts his worst character traits to her purpose. Courtney herself defies gender stereotypes by being a reckless intellectual, she is a risk-taking instigator working in the name of science. Interestingly enough, the counterpoint role to this, that of a more reticent care-giver, falls to a man, Ray (Diego Luna).
In no way is this more passive portrayal demeaning, Ray is definitely my favourite character. His reluctance to take part does not come across as cowardice but as common sense - it’s so refreshing in a horror film to see someone say, nope, you’re all idiots, there’s no way I’m doing this, and then actually stick to their guns. Not only does he not join in with the stupid experiment, but he stays to competently care for everyone when he could so easily wash his hands of the whole thing and leave everyone to their, arguably deserved, sticky ends. He goes as far as to say, “whatever happens to all of you happens to me.” It’s good to see a male character’s empathy portrayed as a strong kind of loyalty, rather than weakness.
Ray continues to be outstanding by immediately respecting Marlo’s consent; the moment she shows hesitance about their sexual relationship, he instantly stops. This sounds so basic, but how many times have you seen a film where a woman asks a man to stop kissing her, but he carries on and eventually she goes with it and we’re just supposed to believe it’s because they’re so in love? Marlo does then decide that she wants to pursue this with Ray, but this pause just reinforces that the decision is entirely hers, and she retains her sexual autonomy. Unfortunately, during the other moment of female sexual conquest my tiny bladder failed me, so I missed Sophie’s conquest of Jamie, but it was described to me as exactly that - Sophie needed release and Jamie was there and happy to be used, she was in charge. Feel free to call me out on this if I’m wrong, but I thought it would be remiss of me not to mention it.
Jamie’s journey to redemption is also worth mentioning as an unusual male story. He starts of as an egotistical playboy who enters medicine for the fame and fortune. However, through his conscience haunting him in the form of a woman, Alicia (Anna Arden), he becomes a better person. He doesn’t defeat or conquer this ghost in the traditionally dominant sense that he outwits or destroys it, as she is a living woman from his past that he has seriously wronged - he got her pregnant, convinced her to have an abortion and then failed to show up at the clinic with her. He chooses to seek her out, ask for her forgiveness and attempt to take responsibility for the son he finds out he has. He does not “win the girl” - no sexual or romantic relationship is implied between him and Alicia - but he abandons his celebrity goals to take up a position closer to them. Furthermore, this is not in a breadwinner, head-of-the-family, patriarchal kind of way. From what we see he does not attempt to control this new family, rather he wants to try to support it, and be a part of it if he can.
Overall, Flatliners was a surprisingly egalitarian film in terms of gender. Both women and men were allowed to occupy spaces not usually awarded to them in film - women could try to build strong careers in a competitive world and men could form emotional attachments. Obviously this is a fairly reductive assessment, but as always with a mainstream movie, it’s good to just see these traits being normalised. Regardless of gender, the message of this film seemed to be to just be a good person and try to face and fix your mistakes, which is something I think we can all get behind.
And now for some asides:
What kind of crazy budget did this hospital have that is had another entire unused hospital underneath it? That’s where my suspension of disbelief ended.
A spooky child version of “If You’re Happy and You Know It”? Come on, even I, the world’s biggest wimp, wasn’t scared.
There must be easier and less damp rich-boy affectations to adopt than living on a yacht.
I love the Rubik’s cube as a metric of hyper-intelligence, if that’s all it takes, I’ll have one PhD please.

13 days of  O U T L A N D E R day thirteen – Dragonfly In Amber (season two, episode thirteen)
F A V O U R I T E   M O M E N T ➤ Considering the limited time and what options they had in order to do this in the show, I thought they did this scene very well. It is better in the book, but it still remains my favourite moment in this episode. I would have liked for Jamie and Claire to have had more time to say goodbye as I feel like this moment is a bit rushed. However, Sam and Caitriona’s acting is phenomenal and I like the other things that the show have added such as the little dance and Jamie guiding Claire’s hand towards the stone. Craigh na Dune feels very eerie and almost dreamlike with it being so high up above everything else. Bear McCreary once again provides us with an amazing score, which only adds to the atmosphere in this scene.
F A V O U R I T E   N O T  I N  T H E  B O O K  M O M E N T ➤ We can almost feel Claire’s pain and longing through this scene here. This moment surely stabs us (again) in the heart. To think that for such a long time, Claire has not been able to properly deal with her loss. Here she is and it is all coming back to her now. Happy memories at Lallybroch that happened forever ago with little Rabbie McNab, Jenny, Ian and their children, and most of all Jamie, are finally surfacing from Claire’s mind after having been buried for so long. Even after twenty years, Claire still remembers what it feels like to have Jamie’s lips pressed against her own. At the same time, this is also the closest that she can come to kissing Jamie, without him really being present. Only his spirit remains there.
F A V O U R I T E   J A M I E / C L A I R E   M O M E N T ➤ This is first, last and only time Jamie will get to hold his child. He knows fully well that he will never see his son or daughter, yet he loves his child more than anything already. Her pregnancy is also the only thing that is keeping Claire from staying in the 18th century and fighting alongside Jamie on Culloden Moor. She would not have been able to be convinced otherwise, if she was not carrying their child. The second that Jamie mentions her cycle, the deal is sealed. Until this moment, they both had been too scared to admit that this was happening and the timing really could not have been worse. Barely knowing what is going on, Claire agrees to go back to the 1940s.
F A V O U R I T E   C L A I R E  M O M E N T ➤ I really love this scene between Claire and Roger. Right from the start, it is established that the two of them understand each other to some extent. It is almost as if they can connect with one another that they just cannot with others. With only a few words, they are having a heart-to-heart conversation about letting go of a someone that they loved the most but lost. Roger is dealing with the loss of adoptive father, the Reverend Wakefield, and is asking Claire for advice. She tells him that she has never let go, in which Roger is wondering how you could live with that. Claire’s answer is simply that you do it for their sake, because that is what they would want you to do. Naturally, Roger is under the impression Claire is speaking about Frank, but it is obviously about Jamie and her promise to him.
F A V O U R I T E   J A M I E  M O M E N T ➤ I wonder if we will have more scenes between Jamie and Murtagh before they join the others on the battlefield of Culloden. In any case, I am really happy that we got this moment here. There are so many words left unspoken towards the end of this scene. Jamie is the son that Murtagh never got, as Murtagh is the father that Jamie lost. They would go through fire and ice for and with each other.

"destress" I read. okay okay cool cool I can be a not giant shit, right??? let's do numbahs 1, 14, 15, 21, 30, 36, 70, 75, 89 (hahaha), 94 and 98! Those seem not too bad!
Yeah, destress :P I’m done my essay and done my research for my essay I have to write tomorrow so now I’m just looking to chill ^^ And I find answering this shit cool so it felt fitting XD You probably could have been a bigger shit but I appreciate the kindness :P So here we go!
1. Spotify, SoundCloud, or Pandora?Spotify, obviously. it’s better than SoundCloud and I don’t think we have Pandora.
14. If you can live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?Norway. I’m already used to the cold and according to the Social Progress Index of 2015, it was ranked #1. Ultimately I just want to go somewhere where most things are covered by taxes like health care, school costs, etc. So I’d end up somewhere in the Scandinavian countries anyway. Maybe Finland instead.
15. Favorite Snapchat filter? The black and white one with the big round glasses that change colours and the club music. It’s my aesthetic. Runners up are: the car filter that you showed me the other day, the vampire filter, and any flower crown filter ever.
21. Sandals or sneakers?Sneakers, by far. I find sandals uncomfortable and I never really like the look of my feet so sneakers.
30. What’s your favorite candle scent? It’s a tie between this white tea and ginger scent that I have and a jasmine, grapefruit, and sandalwood candle that I also own.
36. Favorite movie?Currently Moana. I love it dearly and I can’t think of anything else right now that would be able to compete with it.
70. What was the last concert you saw?Walk off the Earth! With you guys at Homecoming :P
75. Are you going to change your last name when you get married?I don’t know. Depends on who I marry. I probably will though and then just make my last name a second middle name.
89. Do you like your neighbors?FUCK NO. The only one that I like is our super friendly cat lady who lives behind/beside us and she is super awesome and has essentially adopted us as grandchildren. She is so sweet and has helped us out so much with our cat Cinnamon and keeps giving us things and making sure that none of us are dying from school. She is so wonderful. BUT ASIDE FROM HER ALL OF OUR NEIGHBORS CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES. I mean, Jamie is kinda cool. But he tried to take our cat so FUCK HIM TOO.
94. Favorite lyrics right now? This actually took me a while but I think I’ve found them. They’re from a song called Stand in the Light by Jordan Smith:
“This is who I am insideThis is who I am, I’m not gonna hide.Cause the greatest risk we’ll ever takeIs by far to stand in the lightAnd be seen as we are.”
98. Favorite month?I’m gonna say June! School is out, it’s warm but not super hot yet, and it’s a time of peace and sunshine and happiness :)

Sonny’s Angels: Chapter Six
He had offered to drive Alexis and the girls to Jamie-Lynn and Leland's but the stubborn woman had insisted upon driving herself. While his girl no longer seemed to fear him, she only seemed to be tolerating him at best.
He knew why, of course. Kristina was his daughter. Baby Molly might have been the child of the late Ric Lansing but her older sister was all Corinthos. All he had needed to do was get his hands on the child's birth certificate. Just like with Molly, the father wasn't listed...but her birthday obviously was. She was born almost exactly nine months after their night together. Ric Lansing wasn't even a Port Charles resident at the time of her birth, yet alone conception. After receiving that information, it was suddenly crystal clear why Alexis was teaching Kristina Spanish...to keep her in touch with her Cuban roots...his roots.
At first, he had been angry and hurt that she had withheld the knowledge that he was a father from him but after a few hours – and more than a few drinks – he had understood why his girl had done it.
Alexis had been his private attorney for five years. When he was still a made guy, she had been forced to get him our of trouble on a regular basis. She had helped him beat a murder charge – for a death she knew he had ordered. She had been standing by his side on the Port Charles Courthouse steps when he had been shot three times in the chest in an attempted hit by a rival family. Her gorgeous (and tired) brown eyes had been the first thing that he saw when he woke up in the hospital two weeks later. She knew that once upon a time, he lived a dangerous life because she had lived it with him in a way. As a little girl, she had been forced to witness her own mother's murder at the hands of her deranged stepmother. He knew that she feared her children ever experiencing the same childhood trauma.
When he really thought about it...the protectiveness his girl displayed towards her daughters made him love her even more. He knew without a shadow of a doubt that she loved him...but she had sacrificed her own happiness (because he knew he made her happy) to protect her children. How could he not love her for that? She obviously loved her children more than herself.
Instead of confronting Alexis with the truth, he decided to let her believe that he thought Kristina was Lansing's daughter. That way he could one again get close to her – her and her girls. He would show her that he was no longer a danger; show her that he loved her...that he was capable of being a good, loving father...to Molly as well as Kristina. Sure, the little girl had been fathered by another man but she was still a part of Alexis. How could he not love her? Jamie-Lynn and Leland were proof that you didn't need to be blood-related to a child to love him or her like your own. Besides the child his sister was currently carrying, Leiah was the only child the two had conceived together. Dakota and Cobie were the sons of Leland's first wife who hadn't been in the picture in years. Little Leland came from a horrible man from Jamie-Lynn's past. Jensen had been adopted by the both of them.
Now, he sat at the large, glass table that sat on the lanai of his sister's home with Alexis, Jamie-Lynn, and Leland. Baby Molly bounced up and down in her walker next to her mother. Kristina was playing in the shallow end of the swimming pool with Leiah, Cobie, and Jensen. Dakota and Little Leland, even the protective brothers/(unknown) cousins, were in the pool with them making sure that they stayed safe...even though it appeared that like his niece and nephews, Kristina was a very strong swimmer. Twice he had watched as Dakota had been forced to stop her from swimming off into the deep end of the pool.
“Leland,” Sonny once again tuned into the conversation when Alexis started speaking. “Where's your sister, Lyssa, I think her name was?”
“She married Jamie-Lynn's friend Justin,” Leland explained as he took a sip of his beer. “They moved to Memphis a few years ago. They've had two more kids besides Abby since you last saw them...Maddy and Silas.”
Alexis smiled warmly...God, he loved her dimples. He briefly stopped to wonder if Kristina had inherited hers from him or mother.
“I always liked the two of them.” His girl said fondly. “It's good to know they're happy...and it's good to see you so happy, Jamie-Lynn. You have a beautiful family.”
Sonny knew that Alexis had a soft spot for his little sister. Jamie-Lynn had come to live with him in Port Charles with baby Leland not long after Alexis had come to work for him. She had helped his sister set-up a will and trust-fund for his oldest nephew. She had even been the one to tell him how big of an idiot he was when he been arrested for murder and Jamie-Lynn had finally had enough of his life of crime and moved from New York to Hawaii. Besides his beloved sister, the other reason he had left the life was Alexis. The look of disappointment that he had seen on her face when they had dropped Jamie-Lynn off at the airport had nearly destroyed him.
“Thank you,” Jamie-Lynn beamed as she rubbed her swollen belly. “I'm starting to think this one might come early...I have three weeks to go but I started having Braxton Hicks contractions last week. Better early than late...Leiah was almost two weeks overdue. I was worried she was never coming out.”
Alexis laughed. “So was Kristina...almost three weeks overdue. I was starting to think I was pregnant with an elephant.”
Sonny couldn't help but smirk a little. Kristina was stubborn...just like her daddy.
“Molly, on the other hand, was almost two months early. Her lungs were underdeveloped and I thought I was going to lose her...but my baby pulled through.” She looked down and smiled at the happy (and healthy) baby in the walker.
Sonny knew that she had gone through all of that on her own. It was a good thing that Ric Lansing was dead...or he would have made him pay for his lack of attention to his family.
