i kinda regret giving him the Red and Gold helmet color tbh i've always viewed him as like blue and silver but im Trying to make my drawings more Saturated... (ugh) and it didnt look good with blue and silver

PC's Spider Lily Tattoo- This is where things with the meaning get tricky. Blue Spider Lilies symbolise the following: truth, calm energy, stability, freedom, and inspiration.

Though, the petals of a blue spider lily can change. In hotter climates, they become more pink symbolizing: Feminine love, beauty and passion. In cooler temperatures, they become more blue/purple. Here's a tidbit I think is pretty neat.

On an empty stalk [PC, in this case], the petals can only bloom in late August/early September. [Also, the time PC will turn into the anomaly.] [Because they got cursed on September 3rd/4th.]

Additionally: Campus Story: Towa offers you between two flowers:

Hydrangea- [Angry Towa] Meaning: In a negative sense frigidity, heartlessness. [Probably the general term in this since the flower wasn't shown to us.]

Lily - [Happy Towa] Meaning: Affection for loved ones. [Bro's such a hopeless romantic. I love him.]

meta thoughts and character analysis on hold for a minute, etoiles as a resistance member is just so cool. resistance member etoiles who’s being smart in trying to sus out who else knows, realizing it’s just him. resistance member etoiles who instantly knew flippa was a code, because he knows the codes from how they’ve fought. resistance member etoiles who can recognize that the bg of the egg photos just might be the resistance hq. who’s the only one sworn in but has made it very clear if anything hurts his family on the island his loyalty is gone - who knows it won’t be a problem because he can take the codes on, he can take just about anything. he’s just so badass dude idk idk idk

I love the Land vs Air OVA with all my heart but i'm so upset that they cut most of Tora's arc from the manga. Obviousy he and Tanaka have very similar storylines with both of them being taunted by the other team/doubted as the ace but Tora's comes from the interesting perspective of the ace on a team known for it's defense. Nekoma is typically seen by their opponents as more of a unit than individual players so Tora already doesn't stand out as much as other aces. Then there's the added pressure of him being one of the few second-year aces in the series. He's got a lot to prove and playing against a tricky team like Nohebi is a great way to put that to the test.

At one point he gets overshadowed by Lev, who definetly aligns with what an ace is expected to be. He's taller, his reach is insane, his spikes are strong (when they actually make it over the net lol), and he stands out to the crowd. Then Nohebi starts targeting Tora with serves and he gets even less chances to hit. But instead of being spiteful towards Lev or falling for Nohebi's provocations Tora knows that getting the ball up is just as important as scoring points.

Even on a team like Nekoma where everyone's a fantastic reciever Tora's really kills it! He's super consistent with good aim, and when your setter's as picky as Kenma that's important. Also he's good with both underhand and overhand recieves Again, it's a similar situation to Tanaka's arc with the other team aiming their serves at him to break his spirit but I think it has it's own charm. One thing I like about Tora in general is that he's always shown a lot of admiration for recieving even if it's not the flashiest skill on the court. Think the first-year flashback when one of the first things he did was admire Yaku's perfect A-pass. Guess that's par for the course for any Nekoma player.

Then there's the moment where he bumps Lev's failed blocked and immediately goes in for the spike, AND HE LANDS IT. After all his patience he finally gets to redeem himself ughhh.

Overall I love how these few chapters show that there's more to being an ace than amazing spikes. It's consistency, it's being an amazing all-around player, it's being a reliable teammate and coming back strong when your underclassmen need you. This mini arc is a great showcase of Tora's mental fortitude— despite his looks and short-temper he's great under pressure.

This whole page is golden. From Akane's adorable little reaction to the Kenma/Tora high five to Tora immediately ruining the moment. He's so annoying.

bruh the kids in one piece go through so much.

like i’m at law’s backstory. señor pink and lao g are explaining to baby 5 how flevance got destroyed and there’s bits of laws life before joining the donquixote family.

he watches his younger sister get sick and so does everyone around him; as far as he knows, there’s no cure. his town is being quarantined due to amber lead disease being labeled “contagious” (it’s not) and if someone from flevance tries to escape, they get shot like they’re rabid animals. he has to keep a brave face for his younger sister, and his parents (who he thinks are one of, if not the best doctors in town) are in distress. the people of flevance (rightfully) get upset due to them being mistreated by the government that’s supposed to protect them AND by their neighboring countries so they fight back, but are only met with the navy basically maiming them down for standing up for themselves. and law has to see the people he knows and loves die. he’s begging for his parents to wake up when they’ve been shot. the hospital he told his sister to wait in is on fire, so unless she made it out she’s gone as well.

and then, when asked about how he managed to escape flevance, law says he HID AMONGST A PILE OF DEAD BODIES????????

like no kid should have to witness that.

and then when cora takes him to the hospital, he has to relive the trauma he faced.

“they treat me like i’m sub-human”

and these are supposed to be DOCTORS??? like educated and all?? they’re calling a little kid a monster, diseased, just calling law anything BUT a child of God 😭😭 even cora was like “tf? how are you this uneducated as a doctor”

and i mean its at the fault of the world government bc they KNEW that a) exposure to amber lead could be extremely harmful, but they turned a blind eye and then b) killed the people of flevance when this whole mess could’ve stopped a century ago and finally c) they didn’t disprove the notion that amber lead poisoning was contagious. they just let everyone believe it when they could’ve just said “no it’s not, we need to help these people”

i just feel so bad for law. like oh my gosh, no wonder he was so mad at the world. no wonder he wanted to destroy everything he saw because the world did the same thing to him, so what’s the harm in returning the favor?

i need to give law a hug, in fact let’s give almost every one piece character a hug !

At first, I noticed that many people wanted him to voice Kaiser (before Miyano was announced) but now I think Kakihara would be a better fit for Ness
