my real most controversial opinion (even on here probably) is that i genuinely do not see it as horrifically evil when a woman/girl abandons their baby somewhere. even for dead. or gets a late term abortion. or even kills her children. she wouldn't have done that without a very good reason. she could have been traumatized and afraid, or genuinely not have the means to raise that child.

i remember watching a vid a few days ago about a 14 YO girl who abandoned her newborn in a dumpster after giving birth alone. 14 FUCKING YEARS OLD!! she could have murdered that baby and i would not hold it against her if i'm being honest. imagine how traumatized she must have been. the comments were FULL of people saying she has some responsibility despite her age, perhaps she does, I don't care. there will ALWAYS be someone sympathizing with and wanting to look after an abandoned baby. but the poor traumatized mother will be seen as the inhuman scum of the earth.

my sympathies will always, always lie with the woman/girl, she has hopes, dreams and fears just like everyone else. her humanity is not forfeit, and i can and will value it over her child's, because no one else is going to. 'evil' women have my everlasting sympathy.

steddie fic concept that i will probably never write: steve and robin do rocky horror up in indy, and eddie (who in this universe has survived high school and gotten out of hawkins without encountering monsters or angry mobs or any other kind of supernatural bullshit, and also without ever striking up a tentative friendship with the former king of hawkins high) plays frank in the shadow cast. during the virgin sacrifice, he recognizes steve, which means that of course he has to single him out for ritual humiliation.

steve is a good sport about it ('what?' he says afterwards to robin, who is covering her face in secondhand embarrassment. 'this is, like, nowhere near as bad as the shit the basketball team puts the newbies through'). eddie is reluctantly charmed. after the show, he's dressed again, having a cigarette outside the theater, when steve and robin leave, and steve stops, does a double take, and is like, 'wait, munson? is that you??'

and it's the beginning of a beautiful friendship, which started with eddie drawing a 'v' on steve's face in lipstick and making him fake an orgasm in front of a packed theater of geeks and freaks. the end.

Grim went off her food today. vomited up breakfast, and then refused to touch anything further. I thought the vomit was Pangur’s at first, so I spent the whole day babying her and hand feeding, until dinner when it became clear Grim was the one with nausea.

I’ve been doing my best to keep Grim from the kitten food, because the high fat content can give adult cats pancreatitis, but there’s been a couple times where I’ve put the food somewhere I thought was inaccessible only to find Grim up there accessing it. I didn’t think she’d stolen more than a couple mouthfuls, but her symptoms today seem very pancreatitis-y.

I’m so angry at myself for not having done a better job keeping the kitten food out of reach. I took her to an emergency vet (my regular one was closed) and they’ve decided to keep her overnight. the bloodwork tomorrow should show whether it’s pancreatitis.
