okay I barely do stuff like this but I have a lot to say about this chapter. I'm just gonna talk about one scene tho.

THE GLASSES SCENE REFERENCE FROM MY GIRL??? I'm sobbing so much oh my god WHAT I did not expect that to hurt as much as it did.

A few minutes ago I was just on tiktok and the glasses scene from my girl showed up on my fyp AND THEN I went to AO3 to continue the fic. Guess what, THERE WAS THE GLASSES SCENE REFERENCE IN CR. Lord I cried watching the glasses scene on tiktok, and I cried even more reading the glasses scene on AO3.

ok soooo im like 5 episodes into dear brother and i need you guys to know how much i love rei so far if only for her staggering around like a rain-soaked stray dog just haggard and unseeing all the time. like we know very little about her thus far except that every scene she's in she steals the show by flopping and wilting all over the frame

So in Mark of Athena, the ledge Percy grabs is fifteen feet down. Basically, short of literal divine intervention or one hell of a miracle, there is no way for any of the Seven or Nico to reach Percy and Annabeth to pull them up.

So if we make it to a HoO adaptation, I think it would be wonderfully devastating for the ledge Percy grabs to be just inches away from how far Nico can reach down. Like if Nico just strained a little further, he could reach them. His fingertips are just barely brushing against Percy’s hand that has a death grip on that ledge. But he just can’t seem to reach far enough. And Percy could absolutely reach up with his other hand to grab Nico’s and pull himself up, but that would mean letting go of Annabeth.

And I think that would add more weight to the last moments before they fall. Because Annabeth tells Percy to let her fall and to save himself. It makes more sense for her to say that if Percy’s salvation is within reaching distance. It’s not if he’s fifteen feet down, but it is if Nico’s hand is just inches away. And Percy could choose to get out. He doesn’t have to fall. Only Annabeth does because she can’t escape this. There’s no way to pull her up. But it’s Percy and he loves Annabeth more than anything else in the world, so really, it’s not even a choice. Of course he’s going with her.

But he didn’t have to. And I think that would be utterly gutting for an audience and for the Seven and for Nico.

Persona romance routes are all pretty bad but damn they really hit rock bottom with p3p femc route like the misogyny is very blatant and it’s almost hilarious like look at the Shinjiro romance. When you do his social link he’s like very clearly respectful of Kotone as a leader and explicitly says stuff like "oh yeah you’re clearly the best fighter we have, I don’t really know much about fighting like you do, I hope I’m not dragging you down, you’re doing a good job as leader just remember to take care of yourself, everyone looks up to you I know you can rely on them" etc. like he has faith in her leading abilities. But then when you romance him he’s like got dialogue like "bwah bluh i gotta look after you because you’re a GIRL and you need to stick by me, a big strong MAN so you don’t get hurt" and "don’t wear that revealing outfit in front of other guys 👺" and it’s like. Does he respect her or not and also like it doesn’t make sense for him to look down on her for being a girl cuz he literally has never not been led by a girl leader during his time in sees and Mitsuru in particular really has her shit together when it comes to being responsible and a good fighter and she’s always known the most about Tartarus

It’s also like. Idk maybe its just me I’m not a girl so FUCK IF I KNOW but to me the appeal of romancing Shinji is the fact that he’s sweet and sensitive and gentle and has respect for you despite the fact that he acts all scary. That’s like, what made me like this character in the first place. But the writers seem to think what women want is for a BIG STRONG MAN to protect them because they are just DELICATE WOMEN who are inferior in every way it’s like. Shut upppp thanks

Started watching the Bayverse movies with my besties and... Are we just too gay for these movies??? Admittedly we only finished the first two and got through a quarter of the third, but the second one was such a drag to sit through at times and it probably doesn't help that we do NOT care about Sam that much. I hope that there is a character arc for him in the rest of the third movie. Because so far he has not been fun to watch in that one. He just comes off as a slight manchild to me, like... I can see why he would be frustrated with where he is in life but the way he acts with others and lashes out does not help him in the slightest. I do have to admit though that seeing him go to Cybertronian Heaven in the second movie was the funniest part for me and my besties lol.

I'll just hope that the other guy in the next movies will be at least a bit more interesting. Doesn't even have to be a good guy, just an interesting guy for me lol
