Looking at your newest TFOL gif sets for s1, it clearly strengthens natural chemistry that Blair(Lisa) and Jo (Nancy) has. Unless there was directorial notes that the girls were following that was not given in s1.

part of me is like yes let’s unpack this! and the other part of me is like this is very much a chicken and egg situation with no real answer. excluding the adults, no one was really matching lisa’s depth in s1 and there weren’t any scenes in s1 where she had chemistry with anyone else, even in conflict

so it’s like, did the immediate chemistry in 2x01 lead to nancy being lisa’s only real scene partner equal for the rest of the show or does jo being blair’s narrative equal/foil from day one bring about the kind of scenes where their chemistry comes out naturally? because they were written scenes like no one else. even on the rare occasion when nat and tootie got serious, mindy and kim were not acting with that same kind of attentiveness. platonic vibez only~

my theory is that lisa and nancy have the same kind of acting style and brought the same level of intensity to their work and both tend to hold eye contact and both were incredibly attentive with the other, so when they got paired together it was very much 👀👀👀 which confused a nation but made for good tv

choices were made. just look at this nonsense.
