What You Wear
Little things I headcanon MC wears on their RAD uniform to keep the people they love close during the day.
From Lucifer:
A small brooch of a peacock feather on your RAD jacket. It’s a beautiful golden feather with multi-colored gems to detail the colours. You love how it accents your uniform and makes you feel slightly more regal.
From Mammon:
You have not just the chocolate lizard keychain, but there’s one of a bird on your RAD uniform belt. It’s not really gold, and the gem eyes are just crystals, but the bird sits on your waist everyday and you fiddle with it when you miss your first man.
From Leviathan:
You have a small goldfish pendant. The chain is a snake-chain design and the pendant is made of acrylic to make it look real. On the back it reads ‘To my Henry’. You can’t help but occasionally kiss it when you pass Levi in the halls to make him blush.
From Satan:
A small golden ring with cats carved into it sits on your middle left finger (with Satan’s instructions to show Lucifer just the one finger to show it off). The cats have emerald eyes to match Satan’s and you fiddle with it when you’re in class together and watch him perform his spells.
From Asmodeus:
A jangly charm bracelet with little chibis of him sits on your right wrist. He wants you to remember his beauty when you’re separated and this was the perfect way for you to look at him when you’re apart.
From Beelzebub:
He gave you a fitbit that you wear on your left wrist so that you can keep track of your health. Humans have short life spans, so he wants you to stay healthy so you can have as much time together as possible. Plus he likes to compete with you slightly over who has more steps per day. He always wins, but you can’t help but keep ‘competing’ to see his overjoyed smile.
From Belphegor:
You have a ring on middle right finger with Belphie’s bear emblem on it, the stones amethyst and diamonds to show his colours. He smiles when he sees the ring on your hand and is sure to comment on it. You ruffle his hair in return.
From Solomon:
You have fire topaz earring studs from the magician. They’re enchanted to boost your magic abilities during exams that involve magic since your powers (without boost) is weak in comparison to him. He smiles whenever he sees you wear them outside of RAD.
From Simeon:
On another belt loop you have a couple of the diamond shaped gold plates that came from Simeon’s angelic clothing. He got the ones he removed replaced, but he wanted you to have the originals so that he’d always be with you- like a guardian angel.
From Luke:
Your feet never get tired from walking around RAD all day because Luke gave you several pairs of socks from the Celestial Realm that make it feel like you’re walking on clouds. You thank the little angel every chance you get because you walk EVERYWHERE in the Devildom. The socks have been your biggest lifesaver.
From Barbatos:
In the breast pocket of your RAD uniform is the most exquisite pocket watch with the emblem for RAD on it’s cover and on the back, Barbatos’ demon symbol. You’re an example. And should always be on time and presentable, in his opinion. Whenever you’re caught using it, Barbatos gives a nod of approval and smiles.
From Diavolo:
In another pocket of your uniform is a glasses case with Diavolo’s symbol on it. The glasses are enchanted to translate demonic texts to a language you understand as when you first arrived, you couldn’t understand some of your textbooks. You cherish the glasses. Plus, Diavolo has stated he thinks they look great on you, so you tend to wear them most of the day you’re at RAD.

Weekly Summary October 20, 2023
Hi peeps, lots of stuff happened this week, so I'm going to do my weekly summary instead of individual posts or answering individual Asks. This is a LONG one, so grab a drink, and dive right in for: Ringgate, Sam and the City, and Sam and open letter and follow up statement. Also, starting tomorrow, I'll be off for the weekend, my man surprised me with a trip away to the beach before the weather starts to cool down.
Anyhooo, let's start off with something light. #ringgate. For different reasons some fans get verklempt when Sam wears jewelry, and panties definitely get twisted or wet, depending on who you are, when Sam dons RINGS. Sam wore the 2 rings he's been wearing lately during his appearance on Jimmy Fallon a few days ago. Sidenote: Samshine is EXTRA Samshiny is in this pic. Say what you want about him, but the man is BEAUTIFUL 👇
Tumblr media
So, of course, Extreme Shippers are convinced Sam is "finally" wearing his wedding rings because he's married to Cait. Um, one small problem, Caitriona Mary Balfe is already married to Tony McGill. Some Non-Shippers get excited to see him wear rings because maybe it makes them think of when Sam WILL get married. There is something about a man wearing rings. I find it sexy as well. But, alas, these rings are on the right hand and Scottish people wear wedding rings on the left hand. Also, Sam's definitely NOT married to anyone since we've seen him linked to several women lately.
For the people who had doubts the copper looking ring is an Oura ring, it definitely is. Here is what the two rings most likely are. The silver one I'm told by some of the Team is 👇
Tumblr media
And here is the Oura ring he's wearing, most likely in Rose Gold. It's basically a ring with a computer in it to keep track of physical stuff, the way a fitbit or Apple watch does. Seems EXACTLY like something Sam would wear 👇 So, let's put #ringgate to rest now, please.
Tumblr media
On to WHERE in New York had Sam been hiding. Everyone thought he had left and that his recent appearance on Jimmy Fallon had been taped earlier, until we saw THIS fan pic with him. 👇
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
My New York sources said he had not been seen at his usual hotel The Crosby. I'm putting out the name now just because EVERYONE knows that's where he stays in New York. He used to stay at The Bowery Hotel, but the last few years it's been The Crosby. None of the usual pic and autograph hounds got pics with him, so we assumed he wasn't staying there. All those hounds have contacts at the different hotels and restaurants frequented by celebs, so they would have been alerted to Sam staying there. Soooooo, if he wasn't at The Crosby, BUT he was in New York, THEN the possibilities are. He's aware too many fans know he stays at The Crosby, so he's switched hotels. Or he decided to rent an Airbnb instead. Or he stayed with friends. Or he does have a lady friend in New York, like some think, and he stayed with her. Who knows...but I'm sure we will find out...
Onto more serious matters. I'll preface this by saying I have made it a policy on my blog to NOT talk about anything political and to also not talk about any world events happening, which are upsetting. This blog is my escape from real life. So, I want to continue on that path. But I'm making an exception this time because based on the DMs an Anon Asks I'm getting there is some confusion as to why Sam posted this message on his social media. I just want to give people some clarity on it. And them move on. So, Sam posted this. 👇
Tumblr media
It was in response to Sam and other mostly UK celebrities signing an open letter asking Israel to cease fire on Gaza, and explicitly claiming Pro-Palestine sentiments. If you click below, you will find an article on it and then keep scrolling down and you can read the actual letter. That's the letter Sam signed. A few days later, he clarified his feelings and regretted signing it because it doesn't represent fully what he meant. 👇
Here's the thing the history of Israel/Palestine is LONG and COMPLICATED. And most people haven't done enough research to know it fully. Most people go by sound bytes they see as they scroll social media. Or they give in to confirmation bias based on their political party, nationality, ethnicity, religion, affiliations etc.
I'm not going to get into the specifics because all of the information is easily accessible if anyone TAKES THE TIME TO RESEARCH AND READ THE HISTORY, both of Israel and Palestine...with an OPEN MIND.
The reason Sam got himself in trouble with signing the open letter and then the subsequent damage control message is that he didn't take the time to do his research. In extremely simplistic terms: Most of the UK, and in fact, most of Europe has traditionally been Pro-Palestine (except for European Jews, of course). The U.S. has traditionally been Pro-Israel and are allies. Up until recently that is. Due to the divisiveness in the US since the Trump era, Conservatives (Republicans) in the country became even more Pro-Israel, which then meant Liberals (Democrats) had to be the opposite. The rhetoric that Israel was the oppressor and Palestine was the oppressed grew louder. You had to pick one or the other. You couldn't take a step back and look at the history of the Jews being oppressed pretty much since Moses kept trying to get back to The Promised Land aka modern day Israel and Palestine. Or the Palestinians also being oppressed and their lands shrinking year by year.
The Jews have always been fucked over throughout history. And the Palestinians have always been fucked over, but especially since 1948 when modern day Israel was created. So, then, TERROR GROUP, Hamas decides, we're gonna fuck you over, Israel, REALLY BADLY, and engaged in some of the worst atrocities in recent times. No matter what anyone's beliefs are, when you saw what Hamas did (I'm not going to write the details because it's a horror show we all already know about) EVERYONE in the world should have said "Not today, Satan, not today," and DENOUNCED their savagery.
Hamas is NOT the Palestinian people, Hamas' ONLY goal is to terrorize and destroy. First the Jews, then their allies. Look up in the sky if you're in the US, one day a missile will be coming your way if they aren't stopped. After Hamas committed their savagery, Israel, understandably attacked back. They defended themselves from TERRORISTS trying to literally annihilate them. That was NOT the time to chant Free Palestine or write Free Palestine open letters. Just like after the murder of George Floyd, the Black Lives Matter movement came to the forefront in the US, but you had people countering "All Lives Matter!" Yes, all lives matter, but RIGHT NOW we're focusing on Black Lives, ya dopes. Breast Cancer awareness month. But what about Lung Cancer, Colon Cancer, they're important too?! Yes, but JFC, FOCUS people. Should Palestine be free from Israeli occupation, should they have more land? OF COURSE. But when the world SAW what Hamas did to HUMAN BEINGS, regardless of nationality or religion, the ONLY thing that should have been chanted is "DESTROY HAMAS." Hamas fucked things up for Palestinians, not just Israelis. And because of Hamas' actions, now Palestine is getting destroyed by Israel. And then Hamas will counter attack. And it will go on and on. There should be NO sides. There should only be ONE side, the HUMAN side.
So, when celebs seemingly "pick" a side, especially without considering the repercussions, they will get pushback. I love Sam and he's a good man, but he missed the mark on this one. Not through malice, but rather, naivete and ignorance. By cosigning that letter he didn't realize he wasn't simply signing a Pro-Palestine letter, he was simultaneously signing an Anti-Israel letter, Anti-Jews letter. And the reality is he alienated his Jewish fans, his more US conservative fans, his more centrist fans, assorted other fans...and I'm just going to state facts...he forgot WHO runs Hollywood, has always run Hollywood, and will always run Hollywood, including people who run Starz, as well as WHO are some of his agents, and publicists, hence the "better late than never" damage control quasi apology.
If you're wondering about MY stance: I feel badly for the Palestinian people and I feel badly for the Israeli people. There, that wasn't so hard to say, right? You CAN be Pro-Palestine AND Pro-Israel aka Pro-Humans. In the end, ALL HUMANS want the SAME basic things: food, clean water, shelter, safety and peace for their loved ones. To pick sides is to say that one set of people is more important than the other. And that can't be true. It isn't true. I pick the Human Side. Simple as that.
*big long sigh* Okay, peeps, you can leave comments, but I'm not going to answer them because I'm TIRED now. Also any hate comments, antiSemitic or antiPalestineMuslim comments and they will be deleted, and you will be blocked.
I'll check in later today. And then I'll be off until Sunday evening. Of course, still feel free to DM me and send Asks. I'll answer when I can.
Peace, people, PEACE.

I have a health insurance policy which lets you earn "points" (you get lower premiums etc. in the next plan year if you get enough) by doing doing things that keep you healthy, like tracking your steps with a fitbit or going to health checkups.
One thing that can earn you points is mindfulness meditation, which you can log using an app. Ignoring the fact that that is very easily faked, it's also kind of a cruel joke? My smartphone is one of the primary drivers of me not being mindful. Using it less is what would improve my mental health. And I don't just mean doomscrolling, but my compulsive tendencies to just check it constantly even when I'm supposed to be doing something else. If I wanted to meditate, my phone should be as far away from me and my thoughts as possible.

I BEAT my weight loss goal!!!!! I'm really excited about this but I post about it a lot so read more break
I was a fit (for my size) 240 lbs back in my 20s when I worked at blockbuster around 2005. I didn't keep track much back then but I had almost no belly fat and it was the lowest weight I've been in my adult life. Since then I gained and lost with a weight ranging mostly above 260 lbs and as high as 285. During the pandemic quarantine, I got a fitbit and got really vigilant about walking on the treadmill. I lost around 30 lbs in about 9 months (which quickly rebounded and became more like 20-25ish.
The lowest weight I got to with exercise was 255.5 on 8-31-2020. This was me vigorously (HR 150-180) exercising like 5 times a week for 40-60 minutes at a time. I wrote down every weight loss milestone and date that I hit back then, and I've been checking back to the list whenever my weight drops below one of them. My goal was my original pandemic low of 255.5 and I was 254.8 today!! I am extremely glad about this and how well my chosen diet worked for me:
Cut all snacks but meals can be as big as I want - CUT SUGARY DRINKS (except homemade coffee) - no dessert unless it's fruit or greek yogurt - and if I have fast food I only have like one non-terrible entree and maybe like 1 other small thing if I'm particularly hungry. An example of this would be a beef combo burrito and 1 taco from taco bell, or a chicken sandwich from JITB. I'm curious to see how far down my weight will go while maintaining this diet, and also if it will go down much more with additional exercise (during the entire time I lost weight (about 2 months) I have only deliberately exercised 3 times although I've been somewhat active otherwise.
Just as a side note, I don't mind being fat for the most part. I feel like it suits my body type and face better, but this is 100% a health concern for me. I want to breathe easier, be in better aerobic shape so that I don't get winded so easily, be more mobile, and take pressure off my joints as much as possible.
The following are my weight goals and when I hit them this year. I was using this post and updating every time I hit one. My new goal is my low weight from my 20's: 240 lbs!!!

Pebble the wearable back from a long death
I started working on Pebble in 2008 to create the product of my dreams. Smartwatches didn’t exist, so I set out to build one. I’m extraordinarily happy I was able to help bring Pebble to life, alongside the core team and community. The company behind it failed but millions of Pebbles in the world kept going, many of them still to this day.
I wear my Pebble every day. It's been great (and I'm astounded it’s lasted 10 years!), but the time has come for new hardware.
You’d imagine that smartwatches have evolved considerably since 2012. I've tried every single smart watch out there, but none do it for me. No one makes a smartwatch with the core set of features I want:
Always-on e-paper screen (it’s reflective rather than emissive. Sunlight readable. Glanceable. Not distracting to others like a bright wrist)
Long battery life (one less thing to charge. It’s annoying to need extra cables when traveling)
Simple and beautiful user experience around a core set of features I use regularly (telling time, notifications, music control, alarms, weather, calendar, sleep/step tracking)
Buttons! (to play/pause/skip music on my phone without looking at the screen)
Hackable (apparently you can’t even write your own watchfaces for Apple Watch? That is wild. There were >16k watchfaces on the Pebble appstore!)
Over the years, we’ve thought about making a new smartwatch. Manufacturing hardware for a product like Pebble is infinitely easier now than 10 years ago. There are plenty of capable factories and Bluetooth chips are cheaper, more powerful and energy efficient.
The challenge has always been, at its heart, software. It’s the beautifully designed, fun, quirky operating system (OS) that makes Pebble a Pebble.
Today’s big news - Google has open sourced PebbleOS!
PebbleOS took dozens of engineers working over 4 years to build, alongside our fantastic product and QA teams. Reproducing that for new hardware would take a long time.
Instead, we took a more direct route - I asked friends at Google (which bought Fitbit, which had bought Pebble’s IP) if they could open source PebbleOS. They said yes! Over the last year, a team inside Google (including some amazing ex-Pebblers turned Googlers) has been working on this. And today is the day - the source code for PebbleOS is now available at github.com/google/pebble (see their blog post).
Thank you, Google and Rebble! I can't stress how thankful I am to Rebble and Google, in general and to a few Googlers specifically, for putting in tremendous effort over the last year to make this happen. You've helped keep the dream alive by making it possible for anyone to use, fork and improve PebbleOS. The Rebble team has also done a ton of work over the years to continue supporting Pebble software, appstore and community. Thank you!
In addition to PebbleOS, we’ve been supporting development of Cobble, an open source Pebble-compatible app for iOS (soon) and Android (works great today, it’s my daily driver).
We’re bringing Pebble back!
I had really, really, really hoped that someone else would come along and build a Pebble replacement. But no one has. So… a small team and I are diving back into the world of hardware to bring Pebble back!
This time round, we’re keeping things simple. Lessons were learned last time! I’m building a small, narrowly focused company to make these watches. I don’t envision raising money from investors, or hiring a big team. The emphasis is on sustainability. I want to keep making cool gadgets and keep Pebble going long into the future.
The new watch we’re building basically has the same specs and features as Pebble, though with some fun new stuff as well 😉 It runs open source PebbleOS, and it’s compatible with all Pebble apps and watchfaces. If you had a Pebble and loved it…this is the smartwatch for you.
More info to come soon! Follow the fun with @ericmigi and @pebble.
Are you like me?
Do you have a hole in your heart (and on your wrist) that hasn't been filled by any other smartwatch?

FAQ
When can I buy one?
As soon as we nail down the product specifications and get a firm idea of the production timeline, we'll share it with everyone on the list and invite people to order.
Will it be exactly like Pebble?
Yes. In almost every way.
Aren’t you the guy who screwed this up last time?
Yes, the one and only. I think I’ve learned some valuable lessons.

A little update
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a job now?? It is an internship but my brain cannot comprehend that I have to work now lol. I think just 1-2 posts ago, I was freaking out about working and slowing transitioning out of college. Honestly, that existential crisis definitely hits while travelling to and from work but we make do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Weekdays are super tiring. I Iive pretty far from my work so all my time and energy is spent on the commute. I plan my week using my planner and wear fun outfts to keep myself motivated.
Fortunately I am still a college student so I get called to the campus for meetings and submissions. Worked from home to visit college last week and was very happy to be able to go through some research work. Packed a sundae for my mom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I got a fitbit to track my health. I try to go for morning runs and night walks as often as possible. Mom comes along for the walk and we discuss a wide range of topics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have been visiting various cafes and restaurants. A fun little side quest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The moon remains pretty. Heart remains happy.
Some other things that have happened lately -
1. Got an award at my college for my research work.
2. Carrying a heavy sweater to work because the building's temperature is super low.
3. Found Carl Sagan's original documentary in a bookshop that I visit frequently. They shut the bookstore last week.
4. Pet so many cats.
5. Played tennis for the first time in months.
6. Went to a jazz show after work and ate good pizza.
7. Visited art galleries and fell in love.
I feel like tumblr has been a important part of my journey since highschool. I am soon graduating college. Life got super busy and I got super sick, it took time to settle back. I hope I can continue sharing some fun and raw aspects.
Love,
Niko.

trying to figure out if my concerta is making me tired or if i'm genuinely just not sleeping enough lately which is a little difficult because normally i use my fitbit for sleep tracking but i think the battery finally gave up the ghost because i've had issues keeping it charged iunno. i usually get afternoon sleepies around like 1-3 pm but i feel like its been worse since i got on the meds but i also have had a fucked up schedule since then so i don't knowwwwwww. i have just been yawning and rubbing my eyes like all day & yesterday i feel like i was really tired in the middle of the day too but i feel like i got better sleep that night idk. i feel like i'm def gonna talk to my psych about switching to something else though because i don't really feel like it's helping me the way people say it should

Maailma Pakkanen palaa!
(deep freeze returns!! and also burns!!)
10.2.2024 – Tullikamari (Pakkahuone), Tampere
We’re at peak (nadir?) cold snap and it’s like -20°C outside and I’m already loitering around there just shy of 7:00. I forewent my tradition of listening to Kauan beforehand/while in queue because a) I fear for earbud cables and batteries in these conditions, and b) I do it to get a chill down my spine and don’t need any help with that right now. Instead, I am singing under my breath to pass/keep track of time without having to look at a watch (see above re. batteries). It is surprisingly effective. It’s not like when I’m on the piano and time goes weird and I play everything too fast.
A taxi drops off a couple of women at maybe 7:05. They resemble but are not the Regular Groupies. They look around a little and walk away. The Superfans also show up a bit after that. They wave and go over to the supermarket to stay warm. Not the Regular Groupies return looking for the nearest bar. I’m not from here so I don’t know.
When Superfans come back (I think it’s 7:25 now), we go hang out by the door properly. After a few more people arrive (including the actual Regular Groupies), they shuffle me to the very front of the queue because I was here first. (ok.)
I can’t feel my toes. Is this worth losing my toes for?
Time feels like it’s passing extremely quickly while I’m in this queue. Before I know it it’s 7:55 and the queue goes as far as I can see out into the parking lot. I put away my hat and mittens and get my arms out of my coat so I’m ready to throw those off the moment the door opens.
Coat check was being fiddly with the card terminal so others got ahead of me in terms of getting into the room, not to mention that the bag checker was calling for backup at exactly the moment I walked into them, which set me back a little as well. But it’s fine, I got where I wanted to be.
They hadn’t even gotten the backdrop up yet!
Tumblr media
By 8:45 my toes feel normal again. It's getting crowded in here. Yet again, the entire spring tour is sold out, so.
They don't play until 9:30.
Tumblr media
I'm in my red tunic and have a new (Viking) dragon-shaped bead on my braid because it's Chinese New Year but not like anybody notices or cares (I don't even really celebrate, I just do some token gestures).
Somebody in the fanclub had shared last night's set list, so I had that already copied onto my arm to correct/adjust. (Ended up adding one song.)
They played (still) another arrangement of Intiaanit, which was... in basic rock song style. I didn't like it.
Huomenna kaduttaa and Valot eteiseen aren't songs I'm too familiar with — they clearly have their fans though. Songs about romance and parenthood are hard for me to relate to.
Tumblr media
The person next to me was filming most of the songs and I really wanted to smack the phone out of her hand with a well-placed dramatic gesture but did not because she was nice and actually talked to me at some point earlier.
Markus used an acoustic bass instead of the cello this time. I wonder if it's because of the weather? Classical string instruments (and large ones at that) are probably more sensitive to temperature changes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
His beard is starting to go noticeably grey in the middle, and I've also started wondering about his bracelet. It doesn't look like a Fitbit, but he wears it everywhere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I never thought they'd ever play Ei voittajaa again, and it made sense to put it as the first encore so they could reuse the old walk-on intro track. I still kind of remember the moves to my epic invisible sword dance but there's never quite the space to do it even in a more limited way. (Nobody cares to wonder why I was so much more animated during that song than any other...)
Tumblr media
Teemu’s SO (Her Again!!) ("you're very... red today") says she was at the back of the room and there was still such a LONG queue to get in even as the show started that she missed the first 3 songs. When Teemu comes to join her, they try to find a way out of the place. He has all his stuff, but she needs to get hers from the coat check. There is a massive bottleneck at the stairs going back down there. The couple go talk to somebody at a side door and eventually they disappear backstage to use the loading door I guess.
It’s over 30 minutes before it felt like the coat check mob started moving at a decent pace. Turns out they were letting people down the stairs in controlled groups. They really wanted us out of there since there was a new queue outside of younger people waiting to get IN for, I don’t know, Saturday night disco? That’s a thing at rock clubs here.
----------
In a radio interview a couple of weeks ago, Senpai said that he really likes meeting fans (and that some tell him a lot about themselves — sorry :D I'm surely not alone but maybe the only one who does so in longhand) but there's just too many of them now and he'd be there all night. So there you have it from him.
Heini, Jepa, and Hannah were backing singers at UMK (where the Eurovision entry is selected) which was on at the same time literally 600 metres away, at the arena. I bet they met up with the band and hung out together afterward.
Completely off-topic side note: I'm sad that the very comfy (and very broken) couch at my friend's place is going to get replaced. It's awful for sitting on, but I sleep better on it than in my own bed, so it's something I look forward to whenever I visit.

6) do you use a watch?
I do!! I have a fitbit watch! I like to keep track of all my ~fitness information~ in the same place, AND I like wearing a watch, so I got one back in march. I like being able to see my heart rate!!! when I'm anxious it helps to see that it is, somehow, 100% normal. I do miss having like, a funky or a dainty watch, though. they make different bands you can swap out and change for fitbits but none of them have really jumped out at me.....
7) what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium?
jellyfish!!!!! they are so floaty and delightful. SO much fun to watch!!! oh, this reminds me I haven't been to an aquarium in. twelve whole years.........I had a camera with me but it was, uh, a VERY old super 8 film camera, and I'm pretty sure the film has been lost to time :( oh if they had dolphins!!!! I'd like to see dolphins too!!! I think they are supremely charming little guys.

'its been a while bud,' you might be saying, 'whereve you been?'
Doing stuff. My life is busy as all hell lately, but hey at least i got a free neon yellow fitbit out of the deal. Ironically, yellow is one of my favourite colours and also one of the 2 (two) colours that i can't really see. Yes, I have tritanomaly. No, I don't understand how those two things can both be true, either.
Anyways it's Christmas in May, dear 4 followers that love these posts, so let's crack open a cold one for the boys and get right into it.
S2e4, Coach Santa:
-- why is Colin wearing a turkey hat? I thought that was an American Thanksgiving thing? (Edit: apparently people eat turkey on Xmas. I grew up so decolonized i asked my mom once why my friend Baz wore a t necklace when his name started with a B. Turns out it was a cross. All I know of Xmas comes from Santa depictions and Christmas themed tv show episodes lmao)
-- Isaac's Santa outfit is fucking Iconic
-- Keeley and the Diamond Dogs is such an underrated dynamic i love them so much
-- the immediate teamwork to put together the gift for Jamie is a cute little moment 🥰
-- the title callback to the weird claymation short thing is also a nice touch. Can you tell i love Xmas episodes bc i do. I'm also Jewish lol. And I love irony.
-- I keep forgetting Roy's sister is a surgeon. Also Sexy December 28th is hilarious, i really hope they stuck with it
-- what in the world is the Higgins kid doing with a surfboard in England???
-- the fact that nobody used to show up for Higgins Christmases until Ted showed up 🥰
-- the fact that Henry got his dad a dartboard, Ted's favourite thing to do with his own dad when he was Henry's age, hurts my heart
-- Everyone is wearing shoes indoors. Is that like. An English thing? Ted is too, is that also an American thing? I am. Horrified
-- 'this one is pre-cheekied' I love u Dani
-- Richard is like The French Stereotype and I love that for him lol
-- Roy is lactose intolerant and ate so much ice cream he shit his pants? Relatable king. Also his birthday was three weeks before christmas, making him a Sagittarius, for those so inclined to know
-- Dani and Zoreaux acting like they're gonna die in the trenches over a nerd gun war are such fucking nerds
-- how long, do y'all think, has Rebecca been doing this? I'd like to think it was a sneaky little tradition she hid from Rupert for years
-- 'theres two white people at the door and they're smiling' you go babe tell it like it is
-- look i get Keeley has long nails but pressing a doorbell with your whole palm is unhinged behaviour
-- 'let me fix my knee' *just fucking punches it into place* gotta say, Roy's getting more relatable by the minute. I too have fixed my janky knee by simply shoving it back into place
-- Keeley is wearing a crop top in December. Gotta love the commitment. Also Ussie guy has such long hair now wtf
-- gotta say i completely forgot Christmas Poppers were a thing. That's uh. Not what immediately comes to mind when someone uses the word poppers around me but hey that's just me
-- i forgot we so often get answers to our questions in this show. Rebecca has been doing this for years. I love when I'm right
-- Ted's 'right I'm the one with the accent here'... Ive lost track of how many times I've had that exact thought lmao
-- Love Actually! Good movie, love that Roy thought of that
-- Ted thinks singing is just talking an octave lower. Not surprising but funny nonetheless. And before you say it, yes i understand that was Jason Sudekis' solution to trying to sing in a different accent so he doesn't sound like Jason Sudekis but also. Adorable.

OK this is an interesting question and it's been discussed to death but this is the shouting into the void website so here's my thoughts.
I like what BDG is onto here but I picked "completely misaligned" because I do think it's both too inclusive and too exclusive, in corner cases. His definition says that something is a video game if:
it requires a video display
it is a game (probably a whole discourse on its own)
it keeps your score
it tracks your stats
I have questions about all four of these:
requires a video display
Simple enough, but games some games can be played with or without a video display. Early text-based computer games would have been played on ink-and-paper-based teletype machines, but the exact same software would have also been played on video terminals (also called "glass teletypes" at the time): PC Mag article. So is Colossal Cave Adventure a video game? Depends on the display, I guess.
is a game
Probably a huge subject that I'm not equipped to discuss. But going purely on vibes for this one, I would say that in general, productivity software like Excel is not a game. And also, the people participating in Excel eSports are absolutely playing a game (on a video screen, with a score, tracking stats) in my opinion. So is Excel a video game? Depends on how you're using it, I guess.
gives you a score
This one is also probably open to interpretation, but I think it excludes certain adventure games like Gone Home (some adventure games, e.g. King's Quest, do give you a score, others don't). Also, most games don't give you a traditional score anymore, but you could probably count things like your character's experience level in an RPG, if you wanted.
tracks your stats
Also open to interpretation, but I think it actually excludes a whole lot of games, such as Castlevania (the cartridge version, anyway). Games like this only kept your progress in memory, and had no long-term save. They could encode your state in a password, but I would say that you're tracking your stats, not the game. (also, if keeping your score in memory counts as tracking your stats, I would say the same argument as "gives you a score" applies). Anyway, my CPAP machine gives me a nightly score and tracks it, and I wouldn't call it a video game (although it's also probably disqualified for point 2).
conclusion
All that said, I don't think I disagree with any of BDG's specific examples. I absolutely consider the NYT crossword a video game--if Sudoku for DS is a video game, then there's absolutely no reason not to consider a digital crossword one too. Candy Crush is obviously a video game. Fitbit is a weird one for me, as when I had one, I did not consider it a game at all, so it wouldn't pass point 2. But I'm sure there are people that consider it just as much of a game as Ring Fit Adventure, so I guess it's a game to them.
Ultimately, I just thing BDG's definition is fine if you clarify that the same "thing" can be considered a video game in certain contexts and not in others.
What's a video game?

Sure! Here's a stronger version of that headline: **What Is Ag-Tech? How Technology Is Transforming Agriculture** If you'd like a few more options depending on the tone and style you're aiming for, here are some alternatives: - **Ag-Tech Explained: The Future of Farming and Innovation** - **How Ag-Tech Is Revolutionizing the Way We Grow Our Food** - **Understanding Ag-Tech: Bridging Farming and Technology** - **The Rise of Ag
Tumblr media
Gardening is a complex and intricate process. There are so many things to consider, from the type of soil to the climate. But what if technology could help us navigate these challenges and make gardening easier? If this idea interests you, then you'll want to learn more about ag-tech, the intersection of technology and agriculture. Ag-tech is revolutionizing the way we approach gardening, making it easier, more efficient, and more cost-effective - but what, exactly, is ag-tech? Keep reading to learn more and find out how ag-tech can equip you with the tools you need to make gardening simpler than ever before!
What Is Ag-Tech? (And Why It’s Growing Faster Than My Neighbor’s Zucchini)
When I first heard the term Ag-Tech, I pictured tractors with Wi-Fi and cows wearing Fitbit watches. Turns out, I wasn’t entirely wrong. Ag-Tech, or agricultural technology, is the thrilling intersection where ancient dirt meets cutting-edge innovation.
At its core, Ag-Tech is about using technology—like AI, drones, IoT sensors, and even robotics—to make farming more efficient, sustainable, and, frankly, smarter. It’s less Old MacDonald had a farm and more Old MacDonald had a farm... managed by an app. The goal? Grow more food, using fewer resources, while keeping Mother Earth a little happier.
From Pitchforks to Pixels
I grew up watching my grandfather plant corn by instinct alonehe could smell rain coming. Fast forward to today: I recently toured a farm where soil moisture is monitored by satellites, and tractors practically drive themselves. It felt like stepping into a sci-fi reboot of Little House on the Prairie.
Here’s a quick look at how Ag-Tech is reshaping the field:
Precision Agriculture: Using data to treat crops individually instead of spraying and praying.
Farm Robotics: Robots that weed, harvest, and even milk cows while farmers get some well-deserved rest.
Biotech Breakthroughs: Developing crops that can survive droughts, pests, and the apocalypse (almost).
Supply Chain Transparency: Blockchain and sensors tracking your apple from orchard to oatmeal.
Ag-Tech isn’t just about feeding more people—it’s about feeding them better, smarter, and with a lighter footprint on the planet.
Why It Matters (And Why You Should Care)
With global population projected to hit 10 billion by 2050, we need farms that can keep up without burning out the soil—or farmers. Ag-Tech offers a promising recipe: mix innovation with tradition, sprinkle in some AI, and harvest a more resilient food system.
If you’re hungry for more (pun absolutely intended), check out this related article on the future of farming: .
Final Thoughts
Ag-Tech is not about replacing farmers; it’s about empowering them. It's about giving the hardest workers on the planet the tools they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. And honestly? If a drone can save me from weeding my tiny backyard garden again, I’m all in.

Have you ever tried a health tracker / wearable for mental health stuff? I used to use a Fitbit because I could never be confident in my memory and I wanted to show drs the app to show how erratic my sleeping was, yes I was getting exercise in, and coincidentally found my heart rate was pretty irregular. That mostly settled but now I’m taking stimulants for adhd and I need to track my heart rate, blood pressure and sleep for my psychiatrist - he doesn’t need it super detailed, but I’ve accepted that I can’t keep up with health diaries so I’ve been looking at different devices because my Fitbit doesn’t work anymore, and wearing a watch that does it all seems easy lol. Anyway I was looking at them and they have heaps more features than I knew were possible and I was watching YouTube videos to see how people use them and reading reddit and the Apple Watch has a thing that can detect stress which I still don’t get but someone said their watch detected they were about to have a manic episode because it followed the same pattern as previous episodes. I don’t understand HOW these features work and if it actually said ‘you’re about to have an episode’ but I thought it was cool and something worth sharing.
Hope you did something fun today
I don’t have an Apple Watch. FG was gonna buy me one for Christmas but then he decided I don’t need one and bought me a much, much more expensive Chanel watch instead. I literally never wear it lol. It’s not even the Meaningful one, which is a Tag and I do genuinely like, it’s legit just a random fuck off watch. I did actually really fucking want an Apple Watch but we move.
the features on that do seem really cool and I’d love it. I have a really simple and very terribly old Fitbit but it’s useless lol and always was.
I use my phone’s Health app a lot and I do use a bunch of exercise apps and those sync with Health. I manually log shit like gym, swimming or exercise classes (I guesstimate how many calories got burned based on what the apps I use at home guesstimate).
I have a bunch of bipolar trackers but I find they don’t work that well or I forget to use them BUT I journal a lot and write here a lot so I kinda can track using that? I also use ChatGPT to track stuff.
if I were you I’d 100% get the watch. I might this year at some point or ask my dad for it for my birthday because I think it’d be really legitimately useful. Even if FG and I sort things out I won’t ask him a second time because I DID THE ONCE and he DID NOT LISTEN TO ME. Ongoing theme there I suppose.

So I was doing so well on my diet. but then this week, I cheated soo much. like not just a one-day cheat, but like a three or four-day cheat. It is not just a kind of cheat, but it is heavily worth it. no a full-on pasta that wasn't even that good and with binge eating and Zaxbys.
And I know it's because I have that super huge exam on Wednesday. Like I am stressed. like STRESSSSSSSEEEDDDD. and so I eat. even though I know that I am full. even though I know I'm not eating well. I ignored all the veggies I bought for what? pasta? and fried chicken? And coffee shop sweet treat drinks?
And so we have choices because I can not be my mother:
Find things to do other than eat when stressed.
Minimize stress. You can not keep moving the way you are moving if it is causing you to eat this way
Move your fucking body. If you are going to eat big you gotta move big bitch.
My Fitbit came in today. So let's see what's up. Let's see how sedentary I actually am. Let's track protein, fiber, and carbs in real-time. Let's track what we are putting into our bodies. And let's move our fucking body. so time to Break out the index cards and sticky notes and alarms and journals. Get these coping skills right. Have an honest conversation with ourselves about how we feel about our body. Because am I still cute? Hell yeah. Do I miss when I was like 40 pounds lighter? yes. Is 40 pounds too big of a goal? Do I need something smaller and more accomplishable? Did I cut out sugar too fast? What are the ways we enjoy moving our bodies? Why do we avoid them? what needs to change? What can accountability look like? reward? What are the skills needed to do things that support our health such as buying groceries or moving our body?
