~ you weren’t going to lie to yourself. when you and ten first met, he was the shy kind of guy. you two were friends and slowly but surely, he started to open up to you so much more. soon, the two of you were the best pair of friends. two peas in a pod, as they— they meaning johnny and hendery— had said, though you knew they were slightly jealous of your relationship dynamic.

but one day everything changed. something in ten just snapped like a wooden pencil being broken into two. he just stopped. everything stopped when he discontinued his communication with you. blocked, muted, you name it, ten disassociated himself from you. without leaving behind a reason why.

to ten, he thought you would be fine. since life had gotten in the way, the two of you had been a bit more separated than he would like but he saw how you were thriving. and he wanted it himself. selfishly, ten dropped you and your relationship, whatever that was. because you honestly had feelings for him (the feelings were mutual, the both of you were just too much of a pussy to say anything). but since the abrupt silence, you thought of all the reasons why he ghosted you.

it all became clear when you saw him on a double date with johnny. you had been out with hendery that day, still trying to forget the stifled air between you and ten. but seeing the four of them laughing and enjoying their brunch, everything became so clear to you now. you scoffed to yourself and turned back to hendery. “let’s go. i wanna go home.”

you aren’t searching for anything in particular, finding window-shopping an enjoyable way to spend your saturday afternoon. almost too caught up in turning your head to let your gaze linger on a noticeably shiny ring, you don’t realize you’re going face-first into a cluster of fragrant magenta petals. 

you step back, stuttering a few jumbled apologies, and the person you had bumped into does the same. you see the peach-colored apron he wears, so he must be an employee at the flower shop you’re standing in front of. 

“oh my gosh, i didn’t see you, i’m so sorry,” the man panics, clutching the bouquet to his chest with wide eyes. he’s very cute, you notice, and the blush that blooms on the tips of his ears makes your heart race. 

“no, no, i’m sorry, i wasn’t paying attention to where i was going at all, i–”

the man cuts you off with a chuckle, “it’s fine. i guess we both weren’t looking.”

you nod, smiling shyly at him. you can feel your cheeks burning as he stares at you for a second too long, but you would be lying if you claimed not to be eyeing his handsome features too. he has a nice smile, and a cute nose that flares out a little.

as you’re about to tell him to have a good day and continue on your path, he blurts out, “wait!” you look at him in confusion, and he blushes even more. “w-would you maybe want to grab a drink with me sometime? it’s probably weird since we don’t even know each other but i just think you’re cute....”  

your head spins, and you find yourself agreeing to go out with him, like your mouth is possessed. “oh, uh, sure! could i have your number?”

he beams, which you decide is the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen, and then fumbles around to try to take your outstretched phone.

“let me hold those,” you say politely, gesturing to the strange but beautiful flowers in his hands.

he looks at you for a second, like he knows something you don’t, but then shyly hands you the bouquet. you’re sure he can feel your rapid pulse as his fingers brush yours and he accepts your device. he types in his information along with his name, and the both of you trade off again. 

you read over his contact, noticing that he put the name as ‘flower boy’. 

“my name’s taeil. what’s yours?” 

“y/n,” you say with a smile.

“cute,” he breathlessly whispers. 

taeil shakes out of his small trance, telling you he should get back to work, and you give him a little wave. before leaving, you watch as the cute florist delicately places the flowers in an outdoor display labeled ‘gloxinias’.

You stand in the rain, staring at each other. You feel sad, but can’t seem to bring yourself to cry. Jaehyun, however, has tears streaming down his face, sobs wracking through him.

"I’m sorry, Jae, but we both knew this would happen at some point," you tell him. He nods, wiping his eyes.

"I just wish it could have happened later."

Recently, you were offered your dream job, but you'd have to move to America to take it. Jaehyun knew how much it meant to you, he just expected his job would be why you had to break up, not yours. He never thought you realising your potential, and becoming so independent would break him so easily.

As you turned to go into the airport, Jaehyun thought of running after you, begging you to stay in South Korea. To stay with him. But, he remembered the look of pure elation when you got that email, and realised that would be unfair, not matter how much he loved you. You never stopped him from living his dream, he had not right to get in the way of yours.

With one last glance, he turned and left, a sad smile gracing his features.

“hmm, well i’d much rather have studied at our favourite café than through facetime, but i guess i appreciate it,” he gave you a sleepy smile, his light giggle making your heart flutter, “sooo, what are we doing?”

giving him a eye-roll, you shifted your focus to the task you were set, reading miss song’s instructions aloud to hendery and planning what you were going to write, assuming that he was following along with you, since you were too immersed in your notes.

it was only after the lack of response to one of your jokes that you realised that your crush had fallen asleep leaning on his notebook, softly snoring as you took the opportunity to take a few screenshots of the adorable boy, admiring him for a little longer before hanging up, “have a good sleep, angel, i’ll call you later.”

Trust me with this one. I previously shipped you with Jaehyun, so if you think about it that pretty much insinuates that Johnny would be the plus one to your relationship. Initially it would start off as your standard “wanting-to-tease-mr-walking-with-the-cheese-that’s-the-queso type thing. But honestly you would seriously grow on him, you bring out a more relaxed side of him, that in itself is something that few can achieve. He overthinks a lot despite appearing so chill and relaxed, around you he is comforted by the idea that he doesn’t need to put thought into communicating with you. There just seems to be a very natural flow to the platonic relationship you have with Johnny, as cheesy as it sounds you’re pretty much a sibling to him. And my god it’s actually a bit of a nightmare for Jaehyun when you two playfully gang up on him for the sake of a good laugh. Johnny is fairly empathetic and will always have time to either hear you out and offer advice or spend quality time with you. All in all Johnny is that friend who makes you realise just how “meh” life was before you ultimately became friends, and he won’t let you forget how awesome it is that you are in each other’s lives.

Now this friendship would have come as a shock to most of the members, never in a million years did they think that you and Haechan would actually become friends. Initially there was just no chemistry between you, both of you were just uninterested in pursuing anything more than a polite nod. Now the driving force behind your friendship is the fact that you would have been a frequent at the dorms, it sounds pretty on the nose but through this Haechan seemed to come around to the idea of silent and actually started to willingly greet you when you came over. From that day onward it wouldn’t be long before he was leaning into you as his sides hurt from laughing at his own joke. It’s no secret that Haechan is a fan of attention, that is actually what made him grow attached to you. You were always kind and giving with your time, he was like a moth to a flame when it came to you. As friends the two of you bring out the hyperactive side of each other, another thing that is apparent in your friendship is that the two of you are incredibly honest with who you are. In short you can be slightly unfiltered and Haechan goes all in, he will make jokes at your boyfriend’s (Jaemin’s) extent and what really excites him is the fact that you go along with his jokes. All in all you are the friends who people just don’t want to be around because your energy is far too much.

Okay but this has to be the most gentle friendship of all time. I mean there is no doubt that you would be friends with most of WayV but there’s just something about your friendship that is special. This is one of those instances where Hendery would have been your friend before you had started dating one of his other members, upon first meeting you both decided that you just had to be the best of friends. Though you rely on each other for support your friendship is very easy-going, it’s similar to your friendship with Johnny in a way but it also differs greatly as a result of the attitudes you have when around each other. What I mean is that it would be much more excitable and full or life as a result the unique personality traits you both possess. There is a sense of something that can either be described as having twin minds or being slightly codependent on each other. You see, Hendery has the habit of reflecting the emotions of those around him, this also means that he is incredibly empathic and will always be able to sense how you feel. Adding onto this being the most gentle friendship it would also be the most respectful, you and Hendery are two halves of a very beautiful whole.

Now, you mentioned in your request that you had a weird feeling that you and Jongho would be the best of friends. I usually don’t like shipping people with an idol that they name drop, however, I considered it and I honestly really like the dynamic you and Jongho would have. From your description you seem fairly outgoing, but not outgoing enough to make Jongho uncomfortable. He is reserved in comparison to his others member, honestly he probably assumed that you would be friends with someone like Yunho or San. Much to his surprise you were both mutually drawn to each other. In his case he grew closer to you as a result of you not overlooking him, by default you always showed your kindest side to him. Amongst that he loved how you brought out his more excitable, youthful side.
