I finally read this fic last week and have not stopped thinking about it since, it’s so amazing and made me feel so many emotions and it’s such a unique au, i love it 🩵❄️

Cookin' up a savory Zack lives AU in my mind

Instead of Jenova downloading Zack's memories into Cloud's brain, what if it linked their minds together? Not just able to hear each other's thoughts, but receive all the sensory input as well, in a way.

While Cloud's in a coma, Zack knows he's still in there somewhere, he can just sense it. He feels kinda off all the time, like he's half asleep, but he blames that on all the bullshit he's been through recently.

And of course Zack gets gunned down on the cliff and Cloud thinks he's dead, takes his sword, normal canon ff7 stuff plays out for a bit. Except Cloud's sudden headaches and tiny breakdowns are actually Zack's thoughts and sensations poking through, as Zack slowly regains consciousness in small bursts.

Eventually Zack wakes up all the way, only to find that Hojo plucked up his seemingly dead body and is continuing to experiment on him. Obviously that means a whole lot of physical and mental agony for Zack, and for Cloud too because of the mind link.

So Cloud can't play it cool anymore and the rest of the party starts to think he's going insane. Maybe he tries to convince everyone that they need to go back to Midgar to save Zack. Would love to see Tifa's reaction...!

My attempt at a scene for my Ganlink fic The Longest Leap of Faith

“Give me your pack,” Ganon said wearily.

“No. Why?” I did not stop to look at him, still watching the wavering horizon we marched towards.

“Interesting that you would say no before asking why.” When I did not stop or answer he continued with a sigh. “The why should be clear. It’s slowing you.” 

“No.” 

“Give me your pack, or I will pick your entire body up.” 

“No!” I snapped, finally stopping to stare up at him. 

He stopped and stared right back. Not even challenging, no, that would have made us equals. He seemed to be looking down at me in every sense, like he was disappointed by my petulance. “I am trying to help you.”

“I don't want your help.” 

He chuckled again and shook his head. “Yes, you do. You have quite deliberately sought it out and accepted it. Is this not minor by comparison?”

I glared at him, actually considering his offer. There wasn’t much harm that could be done by him taking it, I simply didn’t want any more of his help than necessary. 

“Keep your weapons on you. What will I do, steal back my own melons?” he said with a sly smile. 

“Maybe,” I grumbled.

He laughed and held out his large hand. I relented.

Spent some time working on this. Got inspired by @thewarmblanket snow clan post and watching informational videos on Greenland lol. I love learning. And this snow na’vi is based off Inuit culture. Including the traditional tattoos called Tunniit. Did I mention this is a free draw with my non dominant hand? 🤗

“The process and method of making Tunniit is called kakiorneq in West Greenland and kagierneq in the east (both can be translated as "sewn with a needle").

The tradition of making and wearing Tunniit has mainly been passed on by Inuit women, as a sign of their spiritual responsibility and sewing skills. The kakiorneq and kagierneq techniques traditionally involve the use of a needle and sinew thread (thread made from the muscle of the reindeer's hind legs) dipped in a mixture of soot, oil and urine to create a line under the top layer of the skin. An alternative method involves the use of a sharp tool to make a small hole in the skin, followed by the application of a sooty substance to create a distinctive dot.”
