Thinking about the fact that Mike and Will are insinuated and blatantly shown to be attached at the hip, crying-screaming-throwing up over each other for an entire decade and now fighting / showing signs of romantic interest in each other (one confirmed)….but NOT ONE SINGLE SOUL over the course of this entire show (including their parents) has ever called their relationship brotherly or said they were like family?
honestly I’m still floored. Like.
As someone who has watched a million and a half shows and movies, “you’re my brother” or “they’re like family” is one of the easiest plausible deniability things you can do in writing to give yourself an out for a queercoded friendship (especially one with a confirmed gay character)…and the duffers absolutely refused to do it—and instead gave the familial coding to mlvn. It’s iconic.

due to neat metahuman genesTM duke's skin naturally bends and refracts light like he's made of tiny prisms
normally this isn't a problem (dude isn't edward cullen) but it becomes a problem when you're trying to do say, medical imaging
cue bruce having a heart attack when duke puts on the signal suit for the first time and his vitals flatline (heartbeat and pulse ox sensors use light to calculate certain things about your vitals, hence weird refracty skin makes this Hard)

Going up north with my partner!

The Close/Swift tradition of losing body parts fucks so hard like. An entire lineage of characters losing pieces of their body just because they care so much. Glenn losing his eye as a direct consequence of wanting a good life for Nick. Nicholas losing his arm because he won't let anyone hurt his family. Cassandra losing her hand because of a goddamn wedding ring. Something something "I can't regrow my arm" vs. "He will never be your son again." The family art of inexorable loss being represented by literally losing parts of themselves. The tradition of losing and losing and being stitched back together and making the best of what you have left. The Close/Swift family being the guardians of the anchor of love.
It's also canon that they are all genetically predisposed to arson.
